Reaching Your Next Level: Tracey Walker on Believing the Number Before You Hit It

You’ve written the goal down before. A number you’d like to hit every month, something bigger than what you’re doing now. You wrote it, felt good about it for a day, and then went back to doing exactly what you were already doing. If that cycle sounds familiar, the problem was never the number. It was that you never actually believed you were the kind of person who produces it.

Tracey Walker opens this Unstoppable Mastermind session by admitting she hit that exact wall herself. As someone chasing a bigger result in this business, one that keeps slipping just out of reach no matter how hard you work, you already know what that wall feels like from the inside.

Why Doesn’t Anything Change Until You Actually Believe the Number?

Tracey tells the room that David Wood once named a specific monthly income figure for her, years before she believed it applied to her. Her honest reaction wasn’t excitement. It was disbelief, the sense that the number described someone else’s life, not hers. So she made a decision instead of waiting to feel ready: she picked her own number, claimed it as already true, and started speaking it out loud every morning before anything in her business had caught up to match it.

So the question is, well, then what does a $250,000 a month person do when they’re building up to it? It’s not what they do when they already got it.

That distinction matters more than the affirmation ritual itself. Most people wait for proof before they’ll commit to believing something about themselves. Tracey’s argument is the order runs the other way. Nothing moves until you can conceive of yourself at that level first, because the activity that gets you there only makes sense once you’ve decided you’re someone who does that activity every day, not someone hoping to eventually deserve it.

What Does the Work Look Like Before You’ve Arrived, Not After?

She uses Floyd Mayweather to make the point concrete. Nobody sees the training. They see the walkout, the entourage, the confidence in the ring, and they assume the confidence showed up on fight night. It didn’t. It was built through the exact same self-talk, repeated for years, long before there was any result to point to as proof it worked.

As Tracey Walker puts it, “Energy is everything. You have to say it. You have to speak it. You have to do it. You have to feel it. You have to convince yourself.” Notice the order in that sentence. Say it before you feel entitled to it. Speak it before anyone else believes it. The feeling comes after the repetition, not before, which is exactly backward from how most people try to build confidence, waiting for evidence before they’ll say a word out loud about where they’re headed.

This is where the internal conflict most people never name actually lives. It’s not that the vision is unclear or the strategy is missing. It’s that some part of you hasn’t fully accepted that you’re allowed to be the person who gets that result. Tracey names this directly: maybe communicating your goal to your team isn’t actually hard. Maybe you just don’t fully believe it yourself yet, and everyone around you can feel the gap between what you’re saying and what you actually expect to happen.

How Do You Turn a Vague Goal Into a Line You Won’t Step Back Over?

The challenge with any income target is that it’s easy to admire and just as easy to quietly abandon the first time a slow week hits. Tracey’s answer isn’t more motivation. It’s a specific line, drawn on a specific day, that you commit to not crossing back over regardless of how the following week actually performs.

She describes writing the affirmation down daily, the same way a teacher might make a student write lines on a board, except now the words are working for her instead of against her. Repetition isn’t decoration here. It’s how a belief that starts as a decision turns into something you actually operate from without having to talk yourself into it every single morning.

  • Pick the specific result first, and claim it as true before any activity has caught up to prove it.
  • Study what the person at that level does daily to build toward it, not what they do once they’ve already arrived.
  • Say the goal out loud, in the present tense, every day, until the words stop feeling like a stretch.

Tracey closes the session with an invitation to draw your own line in the sand starting today, and the full recording walks through exactly how she structures that daily ritual alongside the activity goals behind it. I'm writing it. I'm writing it. You know how you get in trouble in school. They make you write down on the board.

Except that now I'm not writing a negative. I will not talk. I'm writing the affirmative. I am.

Right? I'm writing. I'm writing. Energy is everything.

You have to say it. You have to speak it. You have to do it. You have to feel it.

You have to convince yourself. First. Then you can convince others. Right?

So when you're talking about communicating your vision, maybe it's not so much that it's hard for you to communicate it. Maybe it's that you don't fully believe it yourself yet. It's a great idea. And it's probably a good vision.

I don't know what it is. But it has not hit you that you are capable of making this thing happen, that you are going to do it with or without the first, second, third, 20th, 100th person you've talked to. It is going to happen regardless. Once you get clear that it is what it's going to be, it becomes very easy to communicate it.

You know what I'm saying? In that sense. So we'll talk about that. But I'm saying maybe that's part of it.

It's got to resonate with you so deeply that you are that person. You are that person. So the question is, well, then what does a $250,000 a month person do when they're building up to it? It's not what they do when they already got it.

See, that's what people get when they go wrong. Oh, well, I want Floyd Mayweather money. Okay. Well, he's not just walking into the ring out the blue and run the risk of being knocked out.

He's training every single day, all the time. I watch him on Instagram and he's running miles up the hills doing it. It's a hundred degrees in this, in this city. And he's doing this.

He's trying to, he's doing it for years and years and years and years and years to stay on top of his game. So yeah, you have a lot of mouth and you have a lot of money and might be a little cocky and this and that. I'm not here to judge any of that. All I'm saying is the man got results and he has results.

Not because he's not giving himself the proper self-talk. I don't believe that when that music comes on and he walks into the MGM and he's jogging around, he's got his, his entourage around. I don't believe that he is saying anything other than I'm going to knock this fool out. Okay.

I got this. I am the greatest. There's nothing else he could be saying. What else can he be saying?

He couldn't be saying, Oh Lord. Oh God. Oh God. What if he hit me right here?

Oh, he can't be saying that, right? He can't be. What are you saying to yourself every single day, any given moment, right? So I'm sharing that with you to let you know, this is a transition for me too, right?

And as I'm going through this transition, I'm putting y'all on notice and I'm going through the transition. So as you see it happening, you can say, I remember when she said that. I remember three months ago, she said she was going to do that and she did it. Not to do anything other than encourage you to draw the line in the sand for yourself.

You can start right now. Just like me. We could be on a journey together. Whatever your number is, whatever your goal, whatever your result is, draw the line in the sand.

Today is the day. That's it.
