Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect what we need to run the site and deliver what you asked for. We do not sell your data. No analytics trackers or ad pixels are running today. You can get a copy of your data, export it, or have it deleted by asking.

What We Collect

Plain English: what you type in, standard server logs, and your account records if you have one. We collect information three ways. First, what you give us directly: your email when you subscribe or opt in to training, your name and email when you comment, and your billing details when you buy (payment card data is handled by our payment processor and never stored by us). Second, what arrives automatically: standard server logs, meaning IP address, browser type, and pages visited. Third, account data if you create a login: your username, purchases, and course progress.

Analytics and Advertising Tracking

Plain English: this site uses tracking, including retargeting, and here is exactly what that means. We use analytics tools to understand how the site is used (such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, deployed through Google Tag Manager) and advertising tools to measure our marketing and to show ads to past visitors on other platforms (such as the Meta pixel and Meta’s server-side Conversions API). This is called retargeting: if you visit this site, you may later see our ads on platforms like Facebook and Instagram.

What these tools receive: the pages you visit, standard device and browser information, and cookie identifiers. When you opt in or make a purchase, a hashed version of your email may be sent to advertising platforms to measure conversions and build audiences; the platform can match that hash only if it already knows your email. We deploy these tools progressively, so a given tool may or may not be active on a given day; this policy covers the full set we operate.

How to opt out: block cookies or use a content blocker in your browser, and use the ad-preference controls on the platforms themselves (Google’s Ads Settings and Meta’s Ad Preferences both let you limit ads based on data from sites like ours). Opting out changes the ads you see, not whether the site works.

How We Use It

To deliver what you asked for (the training, the newsletter, your courses), to run and secure the site, to process purchases, to moderate comments, and to understand what content is worth making more of. If you opted in to email, every message includes an unsubscribe link that works in one click.

What We Never Do

Plain English: we do not sell your data, and we do not rent our list. We do not sell your personal information to anyone. We do not rent or trade our email list. Sharing with the analytics and advertising platforms described above happens so that we can measure our own marketing and show our own ads; those platforms are not allowed to sell what we send them either. There are no third-party ads on this site: nobody buys ad space here, and no ad network sits on these pages.

Service Providers

Plain English: a few companies help us run this site, and each sees only what its job requires. We use third-party services for website hosting, email delivery, and payment processing. Each receives only what it needs to do its work for us. One mechanism deserves an honest description: if you leave a comment, your avatar comes from Gravatar. To fetch it, a hashed (scrambled) version of your email address leaves our server and goes to Gravatar. Gravatar cannot read your address from the hash, but it can recognize the hash if it already knows your email from elsewhere. If we add analytics or advertising providers later, we will name them here when we do.

Cookies

The site uses cookies for core functionality (comments, login sessions) and for the analytics and advertising tools described above, including cookies that support retargeting. You can block cookies in your browser; core features like staying logged in may stop working, and blocked advertising cookies simply mean less relevant ads.

Your Rights

Plain English: ask and we will show you your data, export it, correct it, or delete it. You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, an export of it in a usable format, a correction, or its deletion. We honor deletion requests except where the law requires us to keep specific records, such as records of payments, and we will tell you if that applies. Unsubscribe from email at any time via the link in any message. To exercise any right, contact us through this site and we will respond within 30 days. These rights are for everyone who uses this site, not only where a law forces us to offer them.

Data Retention and Security

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and we protect it with industry-standard measures. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach puts your data at risk, we will tell you plainly and promptly, including what we know about what was exposed, not just the minimum a statute requires.

Children

The Services are not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will announce it on the site before the change takes effect and update the date below.
