Jubril Agoro’s New Facebook Ad Setup: Targeting, Bans, and Relevance Score
Two marketers run the exact same ad. Same image, same offer, same call to action. One of them pays a few cents per click. The other pays roughly ten times more for the identical ad, watching their budget disappear on an audience that barely responds. The difference has nothing to do with luck. Jubril Agoro spends this session showing exactly what separates the two.
As someone who has watched an ad budget vanish without much to show for it, or who is nervous about even starting because you’ve heard how easy it is to get an account banned, this is the session that removes the guesswork. Jubril walks through the actual mechanics of building an ad from a completely blank account, and just as importantly, the specific rules that keep that account alive.
Why does the exact same ad cost ten times more for one marketer than another?
Jubril’s core lesson here is targeting, and he makes the math concrete rather than abstract. Run an ad to a narrow, genuinely interested audience, say people specifically interested in a particular style of yoga, and you might see a click-through rate around ten percent. Run that same ad broadly to an entire city with no specific interest attached, and the click-through rate can collapse to around one percent. Facebook prices ads based on relevance to the audience seeing them, so that gap in response rate translates directly into a gap in cost per click.
if someone’s paying 400 bucks right the other person’s paying 40 or if someone’s paying 4,000 the other person’s playing 400
That’s not a rounding error. It’s the difference between a business that scales and one that quietly runs out of budget. The fix isn’t a bigger ad account or a cleverer image. It’s narrowing the audience until the people seeing your ad are actually the people who want what you’re offering.
What actually gets a Facebook ad account banned?
Jubril treats this section with real weight, because he and his team have had an account banned before and don’t want the same mistake repeated. The rules he lists are specific and easy to break without realizing it: do not mention your network marketing or direct sales company by name on your fan page or in your ad, do not show photos of checks or income claims, keep affiliate-style links masked behind your own domain rather than a shared system link, keep text under roughly a fifth of any image, and never use the word Facebook inside your own ad copy without permission. Certain words trigger review even when the intent is innocent, and profanity in written ad text gets flagged regardless of context.
As Jubril puts it, “content is king on Facebook”. Every one of these rules exists because Facebook is protecting a specific kind of user experience, and an ad that reads like a pitch instead of genuine content will eventually get flagged no matter how good your targeting is. His broader framing matters more than the individual rule list.
As he puts it elsewhere in the session, “Facebook is a community for friends and family”. Every rule about what you can and can’t say follows from taking that one sentence seriously rather than treating the platform as a free billboard.
What is a relevance score, and why should you actually care about it?
Facebook grades every ad with a relevance score, and Jubril treats it as the single clearest signal of whether an ad is actually working. A score of seven or higher signals a genuinely healthy ad. Drop into the range of five or six and Facebook is quietly telling you the content isn’t landing with the audience you chose, and costs will climb even if the ad hasn’t been shut down outright. He doesn’t treat an average score as acceptable. In his own campaigns he aims for the top of the range every time, because an ad graded highly by Facebook’s own system earns cheaper reach as a direct reward for being genuinely relevant to the people seeing it.
Why track what happens after the click, not just the click itself?
The last mechanism in this session is the tracking pixel, and Jubril is clear about why it matters more than the click-through rate alone. A pixel placed on your website tells Facebook what actually happened after someone clicked, whether they opted in, whether they became a customer, and Facebook uses that data to find more people who behave the same way. Skip the pixel and you’re optimizing for clicks, which is the wrong metric. Install it and you’re optimizing for the actual outcome you care about, and Facebook’s own system starts working in your favor instead of just taking your money for traffic.
- Narrow targeting can cut your cost per click dramatically compared to broad, untargeted reach.
- Never mention your company by name or show income claims on a fan page or ad.
- Keep image text under roughly a fifth of the image and avoid the word Facebook in your copy.
- Track conversions with a pixel so Facebook can optimize for real results, not just clicks.

I want to get into the content creation on your page and the different types of advertisements that you can do. So content creation here, content is king on Facebook. Do you hear me? Content is king. I really can’t stress enough how important content creation is. So, and shout out to the hippie Jedi, you know, mr. 27,000 fans, you know, another amazing marketer that you’ve obviously seen, or if you haven’t seen, check out his stuff also in this course.
So like I said, we’re gonna go into creating an ad right now. If you don’t actually have a Facebook ad account, I’m gonna show you how to do it here real quick. It’s not gonna look exactly the same because I already have an ad account on this page, but this is basically what you’re gonna do. You’re gonna type ad manager, or actually what you’re gonna do is, even though mine says create page, manic, manage pages, you’re gonna go to create ads and you’ll have this option. And so when you do it, you’ll go through basically this whole process. So we’re gonna go to create ads and I want to explain the few different types of ads that you have.
So send to the website, right, is just sending directly to a website. So if your website is billybob.com, you plug in billybob.com. Let me actually just show you, so you can see here, also we do a lot of teespring campaigns. I’m not gonna be talking about that here, but so a lot of t-shirts. So let’s see here, billybob.com, actually let me do jabril.com. All right, so we got website clicks, and now I’m gonna go through how to set up an ad.
Right, so it’s pretty self-explanatory with locations. So if I’m trying to advertise to everyone in the United States, I’m gonna leave that here. If I want to put Canada in here, you know, we love our Canadians, and obviously we love our Kiwis down in New Zealand, so I’m gonna go ahead and do that. If we want to have our Aussies, you know, I spelled Australia wrong, hold on, there we go. Well, self-explanatory, and I like to do a lot of the english-speaking countries, especially when I’m doing like a worldwide kind of campaign. So we’ll plug all those in.
But if you want to do a local campaign, let’s say I want to do an ad here in Panama City, right, Panama City, Panama. So there we have it, right? So now it’s local, and I could do just for the city, but I’m doing two different things, right? So I’m gonna go ahead and do an ad here in Panama City, Panama City, Panama. So there we have it, right? So now it’s local, and I could do just for the city, but I’m doing two, 25 mile radius, if you just want to do the city, boom, there you have it. If you want to do even more, 50 mile radius, boom, you can see it’s increasing.
Or let’s say I am in San Diego, or let’s say Tampa, Florida, right, Tampa, Florida, or if you want to do a specific area in Tampa, Florida, you know, you can do that. Well, let’s say you want to do Clearwater Beach, right, Clearwater Beach, Florida, and I don’t want to do a mile radius, I just want to do a here, Clearwater, and then we have 174,000 people.
And now, age ranges, age ranges are really important because you want to know who your target audience is and who you’re talking to. Understanding your audience is the most important thing that you can know on Facebook, because if you don’t, you will be very annoying. You don’t want to do this, 18 through 65, men and women, everyone, you’re like, hey, as many people see it the better. No, no, no, no, because this will put you on Facebook, Facebook’s radar for basically spamming people. Facebook wants to give an amazing experience to the user, and in order to do that, you have to have very targeted ads. And let me put it to you this way. When you actually have targeted ads, your ads will be ten times cheaper, literally, not federically, hypothetically, literally.
So for example, let me bust out notepad right here. So if you have targeted ads, right, for yoga, and then you have just something targeting the whole city, right, the yoga keyword that you have in there, let’s say you’re getting out of a hundred people, you have ten people click that ad. So let’s just do, so this, so it looks easier, ten out of a hundred click the ad, right? But now you’re promoting it to, and this is for the yoga keyword, right, yoga keyword, and now whole city, who could be into partying, girls, drugs, race cars, basketball, ping-pong, weird freaky shit, whatever it is, they could be into a whole bunch of different stuff, right, in the whole city. But when you’re targeting yoga, so maybe you get one person out of the ten out of the hundred click your ad, right, in the city, because you have no specific target.
Here’s what you’ll see. So you have, and if you don’t know what click-through rate is, this is what CTR is. So ten out of a hundred would be a ten percent CTR, and that’s pretty good. You want, like, ten percent is pretty good for a click through. Right, now if you do the whole city, one percent might even be generous, you know, depending on how good your image is and your ad and everything, I’ll talk about that in a little bit. So you have your, your whole city, right, so you have one out of a hundred, which is a one percent CTR. So you have a 10% CTR.
So for example, you might pay two cents, or let’s say four cents per click with a 10% click-through rate. And now, with here, even though you have the exact same ad, because it’s not targeted, right, you might be paying 40 cents a click, and you might not even have, you like someone. But when you’re targeting the yoga people, you, who’s, there’s a high chance that into your yoga studio, right? So this is what you want to do, because how can the person who’s paying four cents compete with the person who’s paying 40? They can’t. That’s an insane amount.
So like, for example, right, if someone’s paying 400 bucks, right, the other person’s paying 40, or if someone’s paying 4,000, the other person’s playing 400, completely different realms. And this is what I see that happens on Facebook, because people don’t know how to target correctly. Let’s say, for example, you’re in the home-based business industry, right, and you have an ad, and it’s talking about video marketing, and this is what your ads about. Or let’s say you’re promoting a, you’re your ads about travel lifestyle, right, and that’s how you’re promoting, but you’re targeting people who are into golf, probably not gonna be the best fit.
So if you’re doing travel lifestyle, maybe someone, like, you know, for our work week, right, or basically you get the point. Or maybe you’re gonna target, um, matador, right, someone who’s into the travel lifestyle, but they don’t know how to make it happen, but you have a business that can help them online and travel mobily. So this is the kind of thing that you want to do, so it shows up in the timeline of people who are really into what it is, you know, that you’re offering, and it’s common sense, but I see so many people doing this wrong. So that kind of thing you really want to pay attention to, your target audience, probably the most important thing that I’m going to share with you today.
So, and that’s why I was saying the price difference is astronomical. And also, one of the things that Facebook probably will do if you don’t actually target the right people is a good chance they’ll ban your account, because you’re not providing value to the community. And I want, this is one thing, oh yeah, let me go over a few things here really quickly that can get your page banned. I should have probably said this in the beginning, this is really important. So I want you to pay attention right now, some of the top things to do to avoid your account getting banned, because giving an account is not, I’m getting an account banned is not fun at all, all right?
So, and we’ve actually had an account banned before, it’s no fun. We’ve learned from our mistakes, and we don’t want that to happen to you, so we’re passing our knowledge on to you. First thing, that guy said, understand Facebook is a community for friends and family, and they do not want to see annoying things in their timeline, so use common sense. This is the first thing I want to say. Common sense goes, common sense goes miles on Facebook. So what are the things that I’m talking about? The days of, like, really pitchy marketing, hey, make 20 million dollars in the next five days and your life is gonna be great, I’m really not working anymore, on Facebook, don’t be that marketer, don’t be that guy or gal, especially when it comes to Facebook marketing, promotions.
Number two, if you are inside a network marketing or a direct sales company, do not mention the company on the fan page that you’re promoting. Do not mention that at all. Do not put photos of you collecting big checks on stage on the fan page. Facebook specifically, exactly, their rules has rules for saying no multi-level marketing or network marketing offers allowed on Facebook, and there is good reason why. Me, I love the industry, has done a lot for my life, but a lot of marketers, they’re pitchy, they’re hypey, they over promise, they’re annoying on Facebook. And Facebook said, hey, instead of, like, separating the two, they’ve just put everyone into one category and just said we don’t want any of them on Facebook. And it’s unfortunate, but basically we have the opportunity to change things.
Right, how do we do this? When they say they’re not allowed on Facebook, you basically lead with value and you lead with branding yourself, so you’re not promoting an opportunity. Like you saw the way Keef was promoting, you saw the way Keef was promoting, you saw the way Keef was promoting, you saw he was mentioning nothing about the company he was promoting, but was offering a solution and then going on to a web page. So promote yourself and brand yourself. And also, like I was saying, targeting the audience correctly will really cut down on people flagging your ads as spam.
Next, links inside of your post. Do not link, try not to have affiliate looking links in your Facebook post. Actually get a domain from, you know, a host provider like GoDaddy, HostGator, whoever that you use, and have your URL mask. Because you don’t want to have that, and then to that, and that does not mean, let me make this clear, so if you’re with a system, right, and they have URL links, do not just mask their links, you will get your account banned sooner or later. You want to create your own pages, you know, through ClickFunnels or lead pages, or have your web guide for note, you know, creating your pages, and then masking, you know, those links, you want to do that. You do not want to promote your opportunities, systems, or whatever links, on Facebook marketing. See, if you’re doing solo campaigns or whatever, go for it, but what I’m telling you, when it comes to Facebook marketing, marketing, do not do it, you will have your account banned, okay.
And next, images, you cannot have more than 20%. Let me actually just show you an example here really quickly. So I have this image here with my sister Rhonda. If I had text on here, right, and I had it fills up more than 20% of the image, Facebook will not allow it, for whatever reason, they just don’t want it. So no more than 20% text within your images. And also, words like Facebook, you can’t use Facebook unless you have, like, the trademark, like, permissions inside of your ad. So don’t put Facebook inside of your promotions, hey, because it implies, like, you’re working with Facebook or something, so you can’t actually have that within your ads.
And then alcohol, like, if you’re saying, hey, I’m enjoying a beer, and you’re putting that in your promotion, do not promote that to, on anyone under the age of 21, because then you will have your ad denied. You like, why is it? Like, because you’re promoting alcohol to a minor, and they have all different little things like this, and their system is not perfect. So you just have to be really aware, you might be trying to figure out, and you can’t, you use profanity also anywhere throughout your ad. If you have a video, you might be able to get away with it a little bit, but if you actually have written text, you won’t be able to do that.
Next, oh yeah, so words, right, like I said, curse words, words that you might think, there’s certain little words. So for example, right here, I, all you freaks, I know, you’ll know about this, right, we’re talking about bondage here. But I’m, so we were creating this ad, I was writing this, I mean, I was writing this ad, and I was writing this ad, and I was writing this ad, amazing ad, and it was just kept getting denied, and I was like, I’m like, why? And then, because we put, we want to free you from the mental bondage, but Facebook was implying that it was for, like, you know, sexual bonded. So just be aware of, you know, little things like that. But that’s pretty much it, use common sense. I’m gonna say that over and over again, because so many people kind of lose track, they get excited, they see numbers, and they lose track of, am I making an enjoyable experience for the Facebook user?
But um, let me continue here with some of the content. And I actually jumped the gun here, cuz I showed you setting up ads already, but let’s just actually continue going through here real quick. Like I said, you want to separate men and women when doing ads, and like I said, the age ranges. So I have my 30 through 50 for my yoga chicks, and so I have Bikram. And one thing that I do, so I did not, and this is an ultra targeted ad, because I really like targeted ads, and like the odds of them having interest is very very high. And so I have women, and look at that, they were literally, the total reach before was 1600, now it’s 1500. So for this ad, it’s highly, highly specific, right?
So, and there’s a reason I only put, when I was creating the fan page, I don’t want you to confuse, this is very very important, pay attention, I only put one interest at a time into the interest, and I’ll show you why a little bit later, because if I’m doing Bikram yoga, especially for my advertisements, the other one was the setting up the fan page, the people I want to connect with. But when I’m creating ads, if I’m doing an ad for Bikram yoga, and I’m also doing an ad for hot yoga, right, Bikram yoga might be bringing me, you know, 20 customers a week, and hot yoga might be only bringing me two customers a week. But if I have them both in the interest, I’m not gonna know who’s actually bringing me the work. But I can, if you actually separate them, you can tell by your tracking, okay, this is the keyword that’s producing the most, so maybe you can do a little bit more of that, and it’s a little bit more of a budget towards the keywords that are producing the results for you.
And so, connections and behaviors, there’s a little bit more advanced on what I said, this is a 90-minute session, you have amazing info from so many other people, I don’t want to overwhelm you right now, but if you do want more information, obviously we have our course with my amazing partner Justin at PPC traffic mastery. And now we want to talk about the budget here. Budget is key. You don’t want to go crazy, or for my people to understand how I speak, don’t, you don’t need to go ham with the budget right away.
So as you can see here, the estimated daily reach, 370 to 970 people, and you only have 1,400 potential reach. So even two dollars and fifty cents for this is kind of high, so I’m actually gonna bring it down to a dollar, a dollar fifty, right? You might, like, is that a not to see for highly targeted, yes it is, but a lot of our ads we start off for like five dollars just to kind of see what it does, so we could, we don’t want to blow through a budget, even if you have a huge budget, you don’t want to waste money. And then the ones that are working, you can scale them up. And so for us, sometimes it takes a good two, three days for the ads to really get rolling and have the activity that you want. And so if you have a budget that is gonna blow pass the amount of reach, it does a lot of work that you don’t want to be focusing on that. But at the same time, you have to know that people are working for it. If you don’t have enough to see for highly targeted, yes it is, but a lot of doesn’t make much sense. So you bring it down, so you can spread it out over the days. And that’s what we have. And this is for the click to website. So we have click, uh, and this is the ad segment. Ad set name is really important, uh, and this is how you’re gonna basically look and manage, uh, your account. So we have bikram yoga, and this is for our own purposes.
And now, image, image is crucial, bruh. Image is crucial. So, uh, I actually have a picture here of my buddy John. I don’t have any yoga pictures locally, uh, here on the hard drive, so. But here you can see, and like I said, using a face or something that stands out is really important on Facebook, because you want to have a high click-through rate, and this will help, um, your click-through rate in a really big way. So now that you have it, um, you select your Facebook fan page. So I have my fan page, and it’s a little bit more complicated than I think, I don’t see it, um, maybe because it’s unlisted, that’s what it is, but I’ll just do it to this page, right?
And so this is how the ad shows up, um, hot yoga dude, hot yoga mama, and this is, you know, the keywords that show up right here. And now, if you want to get the hot booty, me do yoga like me, um, so this is the text that shows up here. I’m not going to go into the whole copy and what to write up here, um, just because of, like I said, the time, allow, there’s a lot of science behind, like, what to type, but you want to type what’s going to appeal to your target audience. And I have, like, whole four hour sessions on how to go into further detail of, like, the psychology of, you know, really what to say to people, how to get them to respond positively, uh, you know, to your ad, and also to engage, um, activities.
So what you want to have here is, you know, what is it that you want to do now, uh, what button do you want to have, learn more, shop more, so this is what it’s going to show up here, basically your call to action button. And now, advanced is where you can type a little bit more text. So, um, yoga has changed my life in so many ways, I’m grateful, yes sir, all right. And so this is, and it shows you an example of how it will show up in the timeline, um, of someone.
And so this is why it’s important to kind of have, um, if you have a logo that’s known, boom, like if you’re coca-cola, that’s a whole different story, but like if you’re a local brand, a face does so much more than having like a logo here when it shows up in someone’s timeline. And now I’m going to show you a little bit more of what you can do. Also, it shows you how it shows up in the mobile news feed, mobile is absolutely incredible, absolutely, but um, it shows you how it shows up in the timeline.
And one of the things that I do a lot of times, sometimes when I’m lazy I don’t do it, but this is what you should do, is separate your desktop and your mobile ads. And there’s a big reason why, the mobile experience is completely different than the desktop experience. When someone on a desktop, they don’t really have too many distractions around them, but when they’re on a mobile device, um, I don’t know where my, my phone is actually right here, I have it turned off for the video so it wouldn’t distract me, but normally, you know, you’re just hanging out on your phone, and you know, you’re driving, or you’re riding a bike, you’re doing your makeup, you’re laying on the couch, you’re going to sleep, you’re on the, you’re doing a million different things on the computer. So it’s very easy for people to get distracted, and so you’re going to have audience with the desktop, right? And so, and you will notice a difference in sales, also from desktop users to mobile users. So really keep that in mind and separate them, so you know exactly where your activity is coming from.
Right column, it’s cool, it’s not as as effective as the newsfeed, but um, if you want to have newsfeed, I mean, write columns, go ahead and play with it, test it out, not holding you back. And partner mobile apps, I don’t really use this too much right now, but um, basically people that have apps that use Facebook, this is how it shows up, and I mean, I think it’s pretty cool. And so you can target it if you see good results, use it, I don’t have that much experience with it, so I’m not going to speak on it, I only like to speak on the things that I know that I’m knowledgeable about. So I’m actually gonna go ahead and remove it. I’m gonna make sure that it’s in the right place, and I’m gonna make sure that it’s in the right place, and I’m gonna make sure that it’s in the right place, and I’m gonna remove this just so I have it.
And not tracking pixel, what you want to do is, I’ll show you a little bit later on how to create a tracking pixel. So this is so you can tell the actions people are doing on your site. So for example, if you have 10 people visit your site, and you’re paying, you know, whatever, like 10 cents a click, and you have three of those people opt-in, Facebook, and you put it on the website, and you’re paying, you know, whatever, like 10 cents a click, and you’re paying, you know, whatever, like 10 cents a click, and you’re paying, you know, whatever, like 10 cents a click, and you’re paying, you know, whatever, like 10 cents a click, and you put it on the right, basic on the, you’re paying, you know, whatever, like 10 cents a click, and you’re paying, you know, you’re paying, you know, whatever, like 10 cents a click, and you’re paying, you know, second page of your, your website, so when 10 cents a click, and you’re paying, you know, second page of your, your website, so when 10 cents a click, and you’re paying, you know, second page of your, your website, so when people opt in, the action page that you want, second page of your, your website, so when people opt in, the action page that you want, second page of your, your website, so when people opt in, the action page that you want them to take, Facebook, you know, analyzes that, people opt in the action page that you want them to take, Facebook, you know, analyzes that data, and they’re like, okay, you are paying 40 cents per lead.
Or if you put it on your checkout page, right? If you have the tracking and you have a hundred visitors come to your website and you're paying this certain amount for a click, Facebook will be like, okay, you are paying right now, you know, $2 and 40 cents per sale. And that's, you know, the importance of tracking pixels. So I've just went over basically how to set up an ad and it's very similar.
I'm going to show you different formats, but the setup is very similar for everything, but I'm going to show you here real quick. Now let's go back. Website conversions, you need tracking conversion pixel on there before you can do anything because what Facebook does with that data, right? So for example, like I said, we sell a lot of t-shirts personally, which I don't really mention.
This is one of the other side projects that I do. That's why you saw that Teespring stuff. But so when we're selling a t-shirt and say we're selling it for 20 bucks and it's costing us $3 to produce a $20 sale and there's $10 total profit, that means we're left with about, you know, $7 of profit. And so we can be like, okay, it's costing us $3 to, you know, sell a shirt.
Let's ramp this up. And that's what conversion tracking, web conversion tracking does. And it will also use, it will aggregate all of the data. So it's like, okay, these people are more likely to buy and they'll bring fans that are very similar that are more likely and they're purchasing habits.
Facebook is just, there's so much that happens that you don't really need to know about, but it's there happening behind the scenes. But you have to help Facebook by putting in the right data and they do a whole bunch of things to help you out. Become the most profitable, um, that you can be. And I want you to really get this to understand this, like plug it in your brain.
Facebook does not want you to pay as much as they can charge you for one ad, right? And you already spend, you know, a hundred dollars with them and you had a bad experience. Facebook wants you to spend a million dollars with them and have an amazing experience, but you have to do. Your part in giving Facebook the data they need to best help serve you.
So don't think Facebook is trying to get over on you. They want to have a long-term relationship with you because they know if you keep coming back month after month and you're spending money, that's better for shareholder. That's better for the user, right? You're a trusted member in their community and that's more of the users Facebook wants.
So that's what you have here with increased website conversion. Boost your posts. Right? This is one of the things that we do.
And I'm not going to talk about the other ones. I don't do those that much. So for example, um, I have my fan page here. And so when you create content, if you write content, right, you write a, you write a post on your fan page or you post a video, like I was showing you with Keith, that is what you're using here.
So like, for example, my most recent posts, like they're right here. Or if you have an older post, you can just post the, the link of the URL and plug it in here directly. So I have this post, it's on my Facebook fan page. And so I can choose who I want to target and custom audience.
This is some more advanced ninja stuff. Um, I'm not going to go over here because it's just, I'm going into the basics, you know, right now on Facebook, but more than enough for you guys to get your first ad up and running. And I, if you have any questions, you know, I think there's a place, uh, there's a lot of great resources out there. There's also a group where you, if you have questions, feel free to jump out and ask questions, be more than happy, um, you know, to help as much as I can.
So like I said, this, I'm not going to go over because you know how it works, but like you can see, for example, this is the post that I wrote. It's already on my page. And so I'm boosting a post. And so I can target, you know, whatever audience that I want.
So I'm here in Panama. I'm like, whatever, say I'm doing my yoga post. I'm targeting my Bikram yoga post. So I'm targeting my Bikram yoga post.
So I'm targeting my Bikram yoga post. So I'm targeting my Bikram yoga post. So I'm targeting my Bikram yoga post. So I'm targeting my Bikram yoga post.
So I'm targeting my Bikram yoga post. So I'm targeting my Bikram yoga post. So I'm targeting my Bikram yoga post.
So I'm targeting my Bikram yoga post.
So I'm targeting my Bikram yoga post. So I'm targeting my Bikram yoga post. So I'm targeting my Bikram yoga post. So I'm targeting my Bikram yoga post.
So I’m targeting my Bikram yoga post. So I’m targeting my Bikram yoga post. So I’m targeting my Bikram yoga post. So I’m targeting ways that you can use different other other people’s fan pages to go ahead and learn more, like more target audiences that maybe you can’t think of off the top of your head, and that’s what I do, that’s where I get the majority of my keywords. Actually, let me just show you a quick example here of how I would use the Facebook fan pages too. So for example, right, let’s say Tony Robbins. Wow, Tony Gaskins, hmm, well I use both examples, Tony Gaskins and Tony Robbins, I had no idea, man, Tony Robbins. So if you come take a look down here, you can see the pages that Tony Robbins has also liked. So there are people and companies that might be very in line with Tony Robbins, but the clicks might not be available. And the click might not be available. And the click might not be available. And the click might not be available. And the click might not be available. And the click might not be available. And the click might not be available. And the click might not be available. And the click might not be available. And the click might not be available. And the click might not be available. And the click might not be available. And the click might not be available. And the click might not be available. And the click might not be available. And the click might not be available. And the click might not be available. And the click might not be people that are probably very similar, and the same thing is for anyone, people like people who are very similar to them, and so you could come and target these people inside of your ads. Like this is a million dollar tip right here that we’ve used to completely expand our audience and reach people that we don’t even know exists, but we go from page to page finding new keywords to target. And here’s power editor, like I said, another more advanced tool, we’re not really going to go into that today, but that’s how we duplicate ads, and you can do basically dark post, unpublished post, which is kind of like a ninja way of doing ads which we do explain. But yeah, this is basically, you know, how you get an ad up. And when you have your ad up, like if you haven’t placed an ad before, when you go to place order, it’ll say enter your credit card information in, and that’s how you get an ad up for a targeted ad. But let’s go over some stuff. So you’re setting up your ads, ah, let’s go over now, once you have your ads up and they’re in the ethosphere. So you have image ads, like I mentioned, and top ways to do image ads, like I said, was through clicks to website, but I do love website conversions a little bit better. But videos, I like to do that by actually posting, so you post your content directly to your fan page, right? So let me show you an example. So an image ad, so I have an app, you know, I have a post, and then I’ll have, you know, an ad, and then I would post, um, you know, an ad to it, I’d boost it, and so like you saw me right here a little bit earlier with this. So you do that, and you know, you place an ad. So for example, and like long copy, there’s something about hypnotic storytelling that is amazing, which I do love. So I’ll show you some of my other ads, and then I’ll show you some of my other ads, and then I’ll show you what I eyebrows that I have. And so, here was, um, an ad I did talking. So I do have a link in here, I do have links, so boom, to a podcast I did, I wanted to advertise that here. I was advertising uber, and so I wrote a whole post up advertising uber, but because I had more than 20 percent text, they didn’t allow me to do it. So I redid the ad with a picture of the, but let me show you here another ad real quick. So for example, so here’s like another out of it, right, and this was an ad focus towards people signing up for my mr.
think outside the box course. So I told them a story about my life, and I also added value on how they could make some changes, to basically give value before I asked for something. So as you can see, I have close to 20,000 likes on this post alone, it has a thousand shares, and it’s an ad though, because I lead people to my mr. think outside the box website where I offer, you know, my course. I don’t have my course out, but basically a waiting list to my course, it’s an advertisement. And so this is something, you know, that you can do, to you know have a text ad with images, or you can have, you know, video ads like I showed you. So we have plenty of videos, videos, let me go to my video folder. And swans, like I said, have a bunch of videos, like I was showing you, Keith has videos. So, and one thing about videos that we do, we keep the link a lot higher, so, because we give the value in the video, we keep the link quite a bit higher, like right above, so we keep the link a little bit higher, right, right above, because the content is coming out of the video. So that’s something that we do love to do. And as you can see here, even though it’s an ad, it has 4,000 likes and 600 people have shared it, I mean, not bad, and that’s how you can kind of, shares are a very good indication of how well you are targeting your ad and how well your ad is received in the marketplace, a great, great indication, and it also tells you is your content to your audience.
So let me show you a few examples here real quick right now of some ads, I actually just paused a lot of my own ads yesterday, but I’ll show you anyway. So here, like I just did, my, it’s an image ad, right, and so I’m promoting it to my audience, and I have a 15 click-through rate, which is higher than most people will see, but you know, that’s just kind of what I’m experiencing, uh, with my audience. So this is, uh, but let me show you the numbers, though, numbers are really important, that’s what I want to, I want to really spend some time with. Frequency is super important, let me not sound like, let me know, um, so let me share one thing with you real quick, um, frequency is super important, um, and the reason is, and as you can see here, um, it’s for the last day or so, but normally you can have it over a week period, and you don’t want to have it over 1.8. So basically it’s showing up no more than the average of 1.8 times for a person in a week, because that way, if you have it showing up more than that, it might seem annoying to people, and then also you, your click-through rate will lower. It showing up less than two times, people, if they are kind of like it’s on the back of their mind, and they don’t, and their neck, and it’s gone from the time, like, oh, where did it go, where did it go, and then it shows up again, they click it, and they’re like, I don’t know when it’s going to come back next time, but if it’s always there, they take it for granted, and you know, it just doesn’t, you don’t get the best numbers possible.
You know, cost per engagement, you know, this is super important, so you want to know how much it’s costing you, uh, you know, per engagement clicks, right, you want to know how many clicks has this provided you, click through, right, like I said, very important. So out of every hundred people that are seeing my image ad in the timeline, 15 of them are clicking, that’s pretty darn good. And if you’re getting those numbers, um, you might be asking now, Jabril, what number should I be looking for. If you have something over four percent, I would say that’s pretty good, anything over four percent is something that I’d be pretty proud of, okay. And so don’t beat yourself up if you’re having, you know, you’re not seeing 15, you know, click-through rates, don’t worry, and it’s also, I’ve only been running this for a day, right, so, um, you know, keep that in mind.
And now let’s take a look at some more numbers. So one of the most important things, uh, that I love to see is, so I’ve spent a dollar 62, right, and website clicks, website clicks, especially if you’re trying to get leads and advertisements, website clicks are crucial. And one of the things that Justin goes over, um, you know, quite a bit is conversion rates, right, so if you’re having, um, people go to your website, you want to know if you’re having an average of, say, maybe a 40 opt-in rate. So out of every four people, uh, out of every 10 people, four people are opting in, if you have a 40 opt-in rate, so you can kind of do the math, right. I mean, I have about a 40 opt-in rate, um, you know, for my website, so that would mean, if I was using like this, um, you know, algorithm for things, I’m paying a dollar 62, right, so each website click is costing me, I can do it in my mind, but I just want to show you, for people, so, 16 cents, right, a website click, I did that before I even put it in there, mathematics baby, 16 percent, right, I made 16 cents per website click, pretty good. Most people are not going to experience that, um, you know, these are just my results, they’re not typical, but I’m saying, if you can generate leads, especially if you’re in, say, maybe the business opportunity space or income opportunity, if you’re doing leads for less than three dollars, you can pretty much make it pretty profitable.
So for here, I’d be getting leads for less than, if I have a 40 opt-in rate, I mean, geez, I’m looking at like 40 cent leads or something, right, um, which is not bad, that’s actually phenomenal, but I don’t want you to beat yourself up if you’re not getting those type of numbers, um, so that’s just something, uh, you know, to expect. But let’s, uh, um, you know, take a look at some more numbers, and it tells you, you know, how many post comments, how many post shares, but like, literally, for me, pretty much one of the most important things is the website clicks, because at the end of the day, if you’re doing something, you want to get people off of Facebook and onto your website, onto, um, you know, your business site, whatever it is, so that you can collect their data and have them buy what business or service it is that you’re offering.
But let’s take a look here, um, add some more numbers so you can see. So here is, uh, remember that, that video I showed you, when I’m kind of sitting, um, on the beach, and I was like, uh, I was like, okay, it has 4,000 likes. So here I am advertising it to contiki, which is like a travel site, right, and I want those people to be seeing my video, because they’d be probably interested in what it is that I’m selling. So let’s take a look at some of these, uh, these numbers, and for here I was spending eight dollars, um, a thing. So one of the things that you want to see here is a relevant score that you can, it wasn’t showing up on the last thing, but here I only have, like I said, a five percent click-through rate, much less than the other ones that I showed you, lower, it was higher, but after running the ad for a while, the numbers started to dip. And the relevant score is very important too, this is something new to Facebook, you want to have something seven or above, because that’s, you know, either you have a C, a C type of ad, um, a B, uh, an A, or like an A plus, you know, 10 out of 10.
And so that’s something that you really want to pay attention to. If you start to dip to having a six out of ten, a five out of ten, exit, you do not want to have it, because it’s telling Facebook you are not having relevant content, and they might start watching you close, because you’re not having a passing grade. And so I just wanted to really, you know, emphasize how to really watch these numbers.
Uh, let me show you here some more real quick, so you can analyze some more data. Missing outside the box, so here was another one, and this is an update, I didn’t run this for too long, but um, let’s see here, twelve percent, um, and this was, you know, targeted to, you know, a very select group of people, but um, twelve percent click-through rate, and this actually has a plus, I got a 10 out of 10 ads, and most of my ads pretty much revolve around eight, nine, or ten. I don’t like C’s, because it’s, you know, it’s average, and we’re not here to do average things. So here Facebook’s telling me, Jabril, we love you, you’re doing an amazing job, keep it up, this is an A plus report card, and this is what you want to strive for when doing anything, because there really is no reason, when you’re doing excellent marketing, to have anything less than eight, really. It’s not, um, for me, I like to stay in the 910 range, I do have some, like, uh, that are in the eight range, don’t beat yourself up, um, but anything less than that, you don’t really want to have, seven, no one’s going to come knocking down your door, you’re gonna see your cost increase and all that good stuff.
But here you have it, right? I’ve kind of give you a complete overview now of Facebook, you know, the different types of things, if you’re doing an offline business, an online business, if you’re looking to promote locally, whatever it is that you want to do to get your word out, Facebook can definitely help you, and I know that we can help you here too. And we’d love to see you, if you want to come learn hands-on, you know, in a mastermind that we’re having in Bali or Orlando, anywhere around the world, you know, I’d love to just be sitting down with you and actually have you here, sitting in a seat next to me, or if you want to take your education further, and um, you know, learn with the PPC course, which has like incredible, just unlimited plethora of information when it comes to Facebook marketing.
But I really, really hope, from the bottom of my heart, this has helped you out in a huge way. I’m like, I don’t just do stuff online, we do stuff with big, big corporations, we do video campaigns, awful, like, when it comes to marketing, I just love it, right, that’s my passion, and I love sharing what I know with you to help you grow your business. I want to get into the content creation on your page and the different types of advertisements that you can do. So, content creation. Here, content is king on Facebook, do you hear me? Content is king. I really can't stress enough how important content creation is. Shout out to the Hippie Jedi, you know, Mr. 27,000 fans, another amazing marketer that you've obviously seen, or if you haven't seen, check out his stuff also in this course.
So like I said, we're gonna go into creating an ad right now. If you don't actually have a Facebook ad account, I'm gonna show you how to do it here real quick. It's not gonna look exactly the same because I already have an ad account on this page, but this is basically what you're gonna do. You're gonna type ad manager, or actually what you're gonna do, is even though mine says "manage pages," you're gonna go to "create ads," and you'll have this option. So when you do it, you'll go through basically this whole process. So we're gonna go to create ads, and I want to explain the few different types of ads that you have. Send to the website is just sending directly to a website. So if your website is billybob.com, you plug in billybob.com. Let me actually just show you, so you can see here, also we do a lot of Teespring campaigns, I'm not gonna be talking about that here, so a lot of t-shirts. So let's see here, billybob.com, actually let me do jabril.com. All right, so we got website clicks, and now I'm gonna go through how to set up an ad.
So it's pretty self-explanatory with locations. So if I'm trying to advertise to everyone in the United States, I'm gonna leave that here. If I want to put Canada in here, you know, we love our Canadians, and obviously we love our Kiwis down in New Zealand, so I'm gonna go ahead and do that. If we want to have our Aussies, you know, I spelled Australia wrong, hold on, there we go, well, self-explanatory. And I like to do a lot of the English-speaking countries, especially when I'm doing like a worldwide kind of campaign, so we'll plug all those in. But if you want to do a local campaign, let's say I want to do an ad here in Panama City, Panama City, Panama, so there we have it, right? So now it's local and I could do just for the city, but I'm doing two different things. So I'm gonna go ahead and do an ad here in Panama City, Panama City, Panama, so there we have it, so now it's local, and I could do just for the city, or a 25 mile radius. If you just want to do the city, boom, there you have it. If you want to do even more, 50 mile radius, boom, you can see it's increasing. Or let's say I am in San Diego, or let's say Tampa, Florida, right, Tampa, Florida, or if you want to do a specific area in Tampa, Florida, you know, you can do that. Let's say you want to do Clearwater Beach, right, Clearwater Beach, Florida, and I don't want to do a mile radius, I just want to do Clearwater, and then we have 174,000 people.
And now, age ranges. Age ranges are really important because you want to know who your target audience is and who you're talking to. Understanding your audience is the most important thing that you can know on Facebook, because if you don't, you will be very annoying. You don't want to do this, 18 through 65, men and women, everyone, like, "hey, as many people see it the better." No, because this will put you on Facebook's radar for basically spamming people. Facebook wants to give an amazing experience to the user, and in order to do that, you have to have very targeted ads. Let me put it to you this way: when you actually have targeted ads, your ads will be ten times cheaper, literally, not hypothetically, literally. So for example, let me bust out notepad right here. If you have targeted ads for yoga, and then you have just something targeting the whole city, right, the yoga keyword that you have in there, let's say you're getting, out of a hundred people, ten people click that ad. So let's just do it so it looks easier, ten out of a hundred click the ad, but now you're promoting it to, and this is for the yoga keyword, and now the whole city, who could be into partying, girls, drugs, race cars, basketball, ping-pong, weird freaky stuff, whatever it is, they could be into a whole bunch of different stuff in the whole city. But when you're targeting yoga, so maybe you get one person out of the ten, out of the hundred, click your ad in the city because you have no specific target. Here's what you'll see. So if you don't know what click-through rate is, this is what CTR is: so ten out of a hundred would be a ten percent CTR, and that's pretty good, you want, like, ten percent is pretty good for a click-through. Now if you do the whole city, one percent might even be generous, depending on how good your image is and your ad and everything, I'll talk about that in a little bit. So you have your whole city, so you have one out of a hundred, which is a one percent CTR, so you have a 10% CTR here. So for example, you might pay two cents, or let's say four cents per click with a 10% click-through rate, and now, even though you have the exact same ad, because it's not targeted, you might be paying 40 cents a click, and you might not even sell to someone. But when you're targeting the yoga people, there's a high chance they're into your yoga studio. So this is what you want to do, because how can the person who's paying four cents compete with the person who's paying 40? They can't, that's an insane amount. So for example, if someone's paying 400 bucks, the other person's paying 40, or if someone's paying 4,000, the other person's paying 400. Completely different realms. And this is what I see happen on Facebook because people don't know how to target correctly.
Let's say, for example, you're in the home-based business industry, and you have an ad, and it's talking about video marketing, and this is what your ad's about. Or let's say your ad's about travel lifestyle, and that's how you're promoting, but you're targeting people who are into golf. Probably not gonna be the best fit. So if you're doing travel lifestyle, maybe someone like, you know, for our work week, right, or basically you get the point. Or maybe you're gonna target a matador, someone who's into the travel lifestyle, but they don't know how to make it happen, but you have a business that can help them online and travel mobily. So this is the kind of thing that you want to do, so it shows up in the timeline of people who are really into what it is that you're offering, and it's common sense, but I see so many people doing this wrong. So that's the kind of thing you really want to pay attention to, your target audience, probably the most important thing that I'm going to share with you today. And that's why I was saying the price difference is astronomical. And also, one of the things that Facebook probably will do if you don't actually target the right people is a good chance they'll ban your account, because you're not providing value to the community.
I want, oh yeah, let me go over a few things here really quickly that can get your page banned. I should have probably said this in the beginning, this is really important, so I want you to pay attention right now. Some of the top things to do to avoid your account getting banned, because getting an account banned is not fun at all. We've actually had an account banned before, it's no fun, we've learned from our mistakes, and we don't want that to happen to you, so we're passing our knowledge on to you.
First thing I'd say: understand Facebook is a community for friends and family, and they do not want to see annoying things in their timeline, so use common sense. This is the first thing I want to say, common sense goes miles on Facebook. So what are the things I'm talking about? The days of really pitchy marketing, "hey, make 20 million dollars in the next five days and your life is gonna be great, I'm really not working anymore," on Facebook, don't be that marketer, don't be that guy or gal, especially when it comes to Facebook marketing promotions.
Number two: if you are inside a network marketing or a direct sales company, do not mention the company on the fan page that you're promoting. Do not mention that at all. Do not put photos of you collecting big checks on stage on the fan page. Facebook specifically, exactly, their rules, has rules saying no multi-level marketing or network marketing offers allowed on Facebook, and there is good reason why. Me, I love the industry, has done a lot for my life, but a lot of marketers, they're pitchy, they're hypey, they over-promise, they're annoying on Facebook, and Facebook said, hey, instead of separating the two, they've just put everyone into one category and just said we don't want any of them on Facebook, and it's unfortunate, but basically we have the opportunity to change things. How do we do this, when they say they're not allowed on Facebook? You basically lead with value, and you lead with branding yourself, so you're not promoting an opportunity. Like you saw the way Keith was promoting, he was mentioning nothing about the company he was promoting, but was offering a solution and then going on to a web page. So promote yourself and brand yourself, and also, like I was saying, targeting the audience correctly will really cut down on people flagging your ads as spam.
Next, links inside of your post. Do not try to have affiliate-looking links in your Facebook post. Actually get a domain from a host provider like GoDaddy, HostGator, whoever that you use, and have your URL masked. Because you don't want to have that, and that does not mean, let me make this clear, so if you're with a system and they have URL links, do not just mask their links, you will get your account banned sooner or later. You want to create your own pages, you know, through ClickFunnels or LeadPages, or have your web guy, you know, create your pages, and then masking those links, you want to do that. You do not want to promote your opportunities, systems, or whatever links on Facebook marketing. If you're doing solo campaigns or whatever, go for it, but what I'm telling you, when it comes to Facebook marketing, do not do it, you will have your account banned.
Okay, and next, images. You cannot have more than 20%, let me actually just show you an example here really quickly. So I have this image here with my sister Rhonda, if I had text on here and it fills up more than 20% of the image, Facebook will not allow it, for whatever reason they just don't want it. So no more than 20% text within your images. And also, words like "Facebook," you can't use "Facebook" unless you have the trademark permissions inside of your ad, so don't put "Facebook" inside of your promotions, because it implies you're working with Facebook or something, so you can't have that within your ads. And then alcohol, like if you're saying, "hey, I'm enjoying a beer" and you're putting that in your promotion, do not promote that to anyone under the age of 21, because then you will have your ad denied. You like, "why is it," because you're promoting alcohol to a minor, and they have all different little things like this, and their system is not perfect, so you just have to be really aware. And you can't use profanity anywhere throughout your ad. If you have a video, you might be able to get away with it a little bit, but if you actually have written text, you won't be able to do that.
Next, oh yeah, so words, like I said, curse words, that you might think there's certain little words. So for example, right here, "all you freaks," I know, we're talking about bondage here, but so we were creating this ad, I was writing this amazing ad, and it just kept getting denied, and I was like, why? And it was because we put "we want to free you from the mental bondage," but Facebook was implying that it was for like, you know, sexual bondage. So just be aware of little things like that, but that's pretty much it. Use common sense, I'm gonna say that over and over again, because so many people kind of lose track, they get excited, they see numbers, and they lose track of "am I making an enjoyable experience for the Facebook user?"
But let me continue here with some of the content, and I actually jumped the gun here, cuz I showed you setting up ads already, but let's just actually continue going through here real quick. Like I said, you want to separate men and women when doing ads, and like I said, the age ranges, so I have my 30 through 50 for my yoga chicks, and so I have Bikram, and one thing that I do, this is an ultra-targeted ad because I really like targeted ads, and the odds of them having interest is very high. So I have women, and look at that, the total reach before was 1600, now it's 1500. So for this ad, it's highly specific.
And there's a reason, I only put, when I was creating the fan page, I don't want you to confuse this, this is very important, pay attention, I only put one interest at a time into the interest, and I'll show you why a little bit later, because if I'm doing Bikram yoga, especially for my advertisements, the other one was setting up the fan page, the people I want to connect with, but when I'm creating ads, if I'm doing an ad for Bikram yoga and I'm also doing an ad for hot yoga, Bikram yoga might be bringing me 20 customers a week, and hot yoga might be only bringing me two customers a week, but if I have them both in the interest, I'm not gonna know who's actually bringing me the work. But if you actually separate them, you can tell by your tracking, "okay, this is the keyword that's producing the most," so maybe you can do a little bit more of that, and put a little bit more of a budget towards the keywords that are producing the results for you.
And connections and behaviors, there's a little bit more advanced on what I said, this is a 90-minute session, you have amazing info from so many other people, I don't want to overwhelm you right now, but if you do want more information, obviously we have our course with my amazing partner Justin at PPC Traffic Mastery. And now we want to talk about the budget here. Budget is key, you don't want to go crazy, or, for my people to understand how I speak, you don't need to go ham with the budget right away. So as you can see here, the estimated daily reach 370 to 970 people, and you only have 1,400 potential reach, so even two dollars and fifty cents for this is kind of high, so I'm actually gonna bring it down to a dollar, a dollar fifty. You might, like, "is that enough for highly targeted?" Yes, it is, but a lot of our ads we start off for like five dollars just to kind of see what it does, because we don't want to blow through a budget, even if you have a huge budget, you don't want to waste money, and then the ones that are working you can scale them up. And so for us, sometimes it takes a good two, three days for the ads to really get rolling and have the activity that you want. And so if you have a budget that is gonna blow past the amount of reach it does, a lot of work that you don't want to be focusing on that, but at the same time you have to know that people are working for it. If you don't have enough for highly targeted, yes it is, but a lot of that doesn't make much sense, so you bring it down so you can spread it out over the days, and that's what we have.
And this is for the click to website, so we have click, and this is the ad segment, ad set name is really important, this is how you're gonna basically look and manage your account. So we have Bikram yoga, and this is for our own purposes. And now, image is crucial, bro, image is crucial. So I actually have a picture here of my buddy John, I don't have any yoga pictures locally here on the hard drive, but here you can see, and like I said, using a face or something that stands out is really important on Facebook, because you want to have a high click-through rate, and this will help your click-through rate in a really big way.
So now that you have it, you select your Facebook fan page, so I have my fan page, and it's a little bit more complicated than I think, I don't see it, maybe because it's unlisted, that's what it is, but I'll just do it to this page. And so this is how the ad shows up, "hot yoga dude, hot yoga mama," and this is the keywords that show up right here, and now if you want to get "the hot booty me do yoga," like, so this is the text that shows up here. I'm not going to go into the whole copy and what to write up here, just because of the time allowed, there's a lot of science behind what to type, but you want to type what's going to appeal to your target audience, and I have whole four-hour sessions on how to go into further detail of the psychology of really what to say to people, how to get them to respond positively to your ad, and also to engage activities.
So what you want to have here is what is it that you want to do. Now, what button do you want to have, "learn more," "shop more"? So this is what's going to show up here, basically your call-to-action button. And now, advanced is where you can type a little bit more text, so "yoga has changed my life in so many ways, I'm grateful, yes sir." All right, and so this shows you an example of how it will show up in the timeline of someone, and so this is why it's important, if you have a logo that's known, boom, like if you're Coca-Cola that's a whole different story, but if you're a local brand, a face does so much more than having a logo when it shows up in someone's timeline.
And now I'm going to show you a little bit more of what you can do. Also, it shows you how it shows up in the mobile news feed. Mobile is absolutely incredible, but it shows you how it shows up in the timeline, and one of the things that I do a lot of times, sometimes when I'm lazy I don't do it, but this is what you should do, is separate your desktop and your mobile ads, and there's a big reason why. The mobile experience is completely different than the desktop experience. When someone's on a desktop, they don't really have too many distractions around them, but when they're on a mobile device, I don't know where my phone is, actually right here, I have it turned off for the video so it wouldn't distract me, but normally you're just hanging out on your phone, and you're driving, or you're riding a bike, you're doing your makeup, you're laying on the couch, you're going to sleep, you're doing a million different things, on the computer it's very easy for people to get distracted. So you're going to have a different audience with the desktop, and you will notice a difference in sales also from desktop users to mobile users, so really keep that in mind and separate them, so you know exactly where your activity is coming from.
Right column, it's cool, it's not as effective as the newsfeed, but if you want to have newsfeed, I mean, right columns, go ahead and play with it, test it out, not holding you back. And partner mobile apps, I don't really use this too much right now, but basically people that have apps that use Facebook, this is how it shows up, and I mean, I think it's pretty cool, and so you can target it, if you see good results use it. I don't have that much experience with it, so I'm not going to speak on it, I only like to speak on the things that I know that I'm knowledgeable about, so I'm actually gonna go ahead and remove it, I'm gonna make sure that it's in the right place, and I'm gonna remove this just so I have it.
And tracking pixel, what you want to do, I'll show you a little bit later on how to create a tracking pixel, so you can tell the actions people are doing on your site. So for example, if you have 10 people visit your site, and you're paying, whatever, like 10 cents a click, and you have three of those people opt-in, Facebook, and you put it on the website, and you're paying 10 cents a click, and you put it on the second page of your website, so when people opt in, the action page that you want them to take, Facebook analyzes that data and they're like, "okay, you are paying 40 cents per lead." Or if you put it on your checkout page, if you have the tracking and you have a hundred visitors come to your website, and you're paying this certain amount for a click, Facebook will be like, "okay, you are paying right now $2 and 40 cents per sale." And that's the importance of tracking pixels.
So I've just went over basically how to set up an ad, and it's very similar, I'm going to show you different formats, but the setup is very similar for everything, but I'm going to show you here real quick. Now let's go back. Website conversions, you need a tracking conversion pixel on there before you can do anything, because what Facebook does with that data, right, so for example, like I said, we sell a lot of t-shirts personally, which I don't really mention, this is one of the other side projects that I do, that's why you saw that Teespring stuff.
And so we can be like, "okay, it's costing us $3 to sell a shirt, let's ramp this up," and that's what conversion tracking, web conversion tracking, does. And it will also aggregate all of the data, so it's like, "okay, these people are more likely to buy," and they'll bring fans that are very similar, that are more likely, and their purchasing habits. Facebook, there's so much that happens that you don't really need to know about, but it's there happening behind the scenes, but you have to help Facebook by putting in the right data, and they do a whole bunch of things to help you become the most profitable that you can be.
And I want you to really get this, understand this, plug it in your brain: Facebook does not want you to pay as much as they can charge you for one ad, and, you already spend a hundred dollars with them and you had a bad experience, Facebook wants you to spend a million dollars with them and have an amazing experience, but you have to do your part in giving Facebook the data they need to best help serve you.
So don't think Facebook is trying to get over on you. They want to have a long-term relationship with you, because they know if you keep coming back month after month and you're spending money, that's better for shareholders, that's better for the user, you're a trusted member in their community, and that's more of the users Facebook wants. So that's what you have here with increased website conversion.
Boost your posts, right, this is one of the things that we do, and I'm not going to talk about the other ones, I don't do those that much.
So for example, I have my fan page here, and so when you create content, if you write content, you write a post on your fan page, or you post a video, like I was showing you with Keith, that is what you're using here. So for example, my most recent posts, they're right here, or if you have an older post, you can just post the link of the URL and plug it in here directly. So I have this post, it's on my Facebook fan page.
And so I can choose who I want to target, and custom audience, this is some more advanced ninja stuff, I'm not going to go over here because I'm going into the basics, you know, right now on Facebook, but more than enough for you guys to get your first ad up and running. And if you have any questions, I think there's a lot of great resources out there, there's also a group where, if you have questions, feel free to jump in and ask questions, I'd be more than happy to help as much as I can.
So like I said, this, I'm not going to go over because you know how it works, but like you can see, for example, this is the post that I wrote, it's already on my page, and so I'm boosting a post, and so I can target whatever audience that I want. So I'm here in Panama.
I'm like, whatever, say I'm doing my yoga post, I'm targeting my Bikram yoga post, targeting ways that you can use different other people's fan pages to go ahead and learn more target audiences that maybe you can't think of off the top of your head, and that's where I get the majority of my keywords. Actually, let me just show you a quick example here of how I would use the Facebook fan pages too. So for example, let's say Tony Robbins, wow, Tony Gaskins, hmm, well, I'll use both examples, Tony Gaskins and Tony Robbins, I had no idea, man, Tony Robbins. So if you come take a look down here, you can see the pages that Tony Robbins has also liked, so there are people and companies that might be very in line with Tony Robbins, but the clicks might not be available, and the click might not be available, but people that are probably very similar, and the same thing is for anyone, people like people who are very similar to them. And so you could come and target these people inside of your ads, this is a million-dollar tip right here that we've used to completely expand our audience and reach people that we don't even know exist, but we go from page to page finding new keywords to target.
And here's Power Editor, like I said, another more advanced tool, we're not really going to go into that today, but that's how we duplicate ads, and you can do basically dark post, unpublished post, which is kind of like a ninja way of doing ads, which we do explain, but yeah, this is basically how you get an ad up, and when you have your ad up, like if you haven't placed an ad before, when you go to place order, it'll say enter your credit card information in, and that's how you get an ad up for a targeted ad.
But let's go over some stuff, so you're setting up your ads, ah, let's go over now, once you have your ads up and they're in the ethosphere, so you have image ads like I mentioned, and top ways to do image ads, like I said, was through clicks to website, but I do love website conversions a little bit better. But videos, I like to do that by actually posting, you post your content directly to your fan page, so let me show you an example, so an image ad, I have a post, and then I'll have an ad, and then I would post an ad to it, I'd boost it, and so like you saw me right here a little bit earlier with this, so you do that and you place an ad. So for example, and like long copy, there's something about hypnotic storytelling that is amazing, which I do love, so I'll show you some of my other ads, and I'll show you what eyebrows, I mean, I have. And so here was an ad I did, talking, so I do have a link in here, I do have links, so, boom, to a podcast I did, I wanted to advertise that here, I was advertising Uber, and so I wrote a whole post advertising Uber, but because I had more than 20 percent text they didn't allow me to do it, so I redid the ad with a picture, but let me show you here another ad real quick, so for example, here's like another one, and this was an ad focused towards people signing up for my "Mr. Think Outside the Box" course.
So I told them a story about my life, and I also added value on how they could make some changes, to basically give value before I asked for something. So as you can see, I have close to 20,000 likes on this post alone, it has a thousand shares, and it's an ad though, because I lead people to my "Mr. Think Outside the Box" website, where I offer my course, I don't have my course out, but basically a waiting list to my course, it's an advertisement. And so this is something that you can do, to have a text ad with images, or you can have video ads like I showed you.
So we have plenty of videos, let me go to my video folder, and it's like I said, have a bunch of videos, like I was showing you, Keith has videos, and one thing about videos that we do, we keep the link a lot higher, because we give the value in the video, we keep the link quite a bit higher, right above, because the content is coming out of the video, so that's something that we love to do. And as you can see here, even though it's an ad, it has 4,000 likes and 600 people have shared it, I mean, not bad, and that's how you can kind of gauge, shares are a very good indication of how well you are targeting your ad, and how well your ad is received in the marketplace, a great indication, and it also tells you, is your content resonating with your audience.
So let me show you a few examples here real quick, right now, of some ads. I actually just paused a lot of my own ads yesterday, but I'll show you anyway. So here, like I just did, it's an image ad, and so I'm promoting it to my audience, and I have a 15 click-through rate, which is higher than most people will see, but that's just kind of what I'm experiencing with my audience. So this is, but let me show you the numbers, though, numbers are really important, that's what I want to really spend some time with, frequency is super important. Let me share one thing with you real quick, frequency is super important, and the reason is, as you can see here, it's for the last day or so, but normally you can have it over a week period, and you don't want to have it over 1.8. So basically it's showing up no more than the average of 1.8 times for a person in a week, because that way, if you have it showing up more than that, it might seem annoying to people, and then also your click-through rate will lower. It showing up less than two times, people, if they kind of like it, it's on the back of their mind, and it's gone from the timeline, like "oh, where did it go, where did it go," and then it shows up again, they click it, and they're like "I don't know when it's going to come back next time," but if it's always there, they take it for granted, and it just doesn't, you don't get the best numbers possible.
Cost per engagement, you know, this is super important, so you want to know how much it's costing you per engagement, clicks, you want to know how many clicks this has provided you, click-through, like I said, very important. Like, out of every hundred people that are seeing my image ad in the timeline, 15 of them are clicking, that's pretty darn good. And if you're getting those numbers, you might be asking, "now, Jabril, what number should I be looking for?" If you have something over four percent I would say that's pretty good, anything over four percent is something that I'd be pretty proud of. And so don't beat yourself up if you're not seeing 15 percent click-through rates, don't worry, and also, I've only been running this for a day, so keep that in mind.
And now let's take a look at some more numbers. So one of the most important things that I love to see is, so I've spent a dollar 62, and website clicks, especially if you're trying to get leads and advertisements, website clicks are crucial. And one of the things that Justin goes over quite a bit is conversion rates, so if you're having people go to your website, you want to know if you're having an average of, say, maybe a 40 percent opt-in rate, so out of every ten people, four people are opting in, if you have a 40 opt-in rate. So you can kind of do the math, I mean, I have about a 40 opt-in rate for my website, so that would mean if I was using this algorithm for things, I'm paying a dollar 62, so each website click is costing me, I can do it in my mind, but I just want to show you, for people, 16 cents, a website click, I did that before I even put it in there, mathematics baby, 16 cents, I made, per website click, pretty good.
Most people are not going to experience that, these are just my results, they're not typical, but I'm saying if you can generate leads, especially if you're in, say, maybe the business opportunity space or income opportunity, if you're doing leads for less than three dollars, you can pretty much make it pretty profitable. So for here, I'd be getting leads for, if I have a 40 opt-in rate, I mean, geez, I'm looking at like 40 cent leads or something, which is not bad, that's actually phenomenal, but I don't want you to beat yourself up if you're not getting those type of numbers, so that's just something to expect.
But let's take a look at some more numbers, it tells you how many post comments, how many post shares, but literally for me, pretty much one of the most important things is the website clicks, because at the end of the day, if you're doing something, you want to get people off of Facebook and onto your website, onto your business site, whatever it is, so that you can collect their data and have them buy whatever business or service it is that you're offering.
But let's take a look here, some more numbers. So here is, remember that video I showed you, when I'm kind of sitting on the beach, it has 4,000 likes, so here I am advertising it to Contiki, which is like a travel site, and I want those people to be seeing my video, because they'd be probably interested in what it is that I'm selling. So let's take a look at some of these numbers, and for here I was spending eight dollars a thing, so one of the things that you want to see here is a relevant score, it wasn't showing up on the last thing, but here I only have, like I said, a five percent click-through rate, much less than the other ones that I showed you, lower, it was higher, but after running the ad for a while the numbers started to dip. And the relevance score is very important too, this is something new to Facebook, you want to have something seven or above, because that's, either you have a C-type of ad, a B, an A, or like an A-plus, ten out of ten.
And so that's something that you really want to pay attention to, if you start to dip to having a six out of ten, a five out of ten, you do not want to have it, because it's telling Facebook you are not having relevant content, and they might start watching you close, because you're not having a passing grade. And so I just wanted to really emphasize how to really watch these numbers, let me show you here some more real quick, so you can analyze some more data. "Mister Think Outside the Box," so here was another one, and this is an update, I didn't run this for too long, but let's see here, twelve percent, and this was targeted to a very select group of people, but twelve percent click-through rate, and this actually has an A-plus, I got a 10 out of 10 ads, and most of my ads pretty much revolve around eight, nine, or ten. I don't like C's because it's average, and we're not here to do average things. So here Facebook's telling me, "Jabril, we love, you're doing an amazing job, keep it up," this is an A-plus report card, and this is what you want to strive for when doing anything, because there really is no reason, when you're doing excellent marketing, to have anything less than eight, really. For me, I like to stay in the 9-10 range, I do have some that are in the eight range, don't beat yourself up, but anything less than that, you don't really want to have, seven, no one's going to come knocking down your door, you're gonna see your cost increase and all that good stuff.
But here you have it, I've kind of given you a complete overview now of Facebook, the different types of things, if you're doing an offline business, an online business, if you're looking to promote locally, whatever it is that you want to do to get your word out, Facebook can definitely help you, and I know that we can help you here too, and we'd love to see you if you want to come learn hands-on, in a mastermind that we're having in Bali, or Orlando, anywhere around the world, I'd love to just be sitting down with you and actually have you here, sitting in a seat next to me.
