No Coding Required: The Drag-and-Drop Split-Test System Most People Never Touch
You have never written a line of code and you are not planning to start now. That is the exact fear that keeps a lot of capable people from building their own capture pages, and it is why Zach opened his InstaBuilder walkthrough with a small, telling detail. A survey sent to the event group found that InstaBuilder, the page builder already sitting inside every member’s account, was the single most underused tool in the whole system. Not because it does not work. Because it looks complicated from the outside.
Why does the tool built to save you the most time end up the least used?
The internal conflict here is common and understandable. A blank page builder with dozens of settings, margins, padding, borders, split test weights, feels harder than just hiring someone or copying a template blindly. Zach’s answer was to walk through the entire interface in front of the room, button by button, precisely so nobody had to guess at what any of it did on their own later.
The honest reassurance underneath the whole demo was this:
you’ll be able to figure this all out and you’ll be able to really create like magnificent lead capture pages that look really professional and you guys don’t even have to know any coding
Every element on a page, a video, a countdown timer, an opt-in form, a title, works the same way. You drag it from a sidebar and drop it where you want it, and the tool writes the underlying code for you. The challenge people imagine, that you need a developer to build something that looks professional, simply is not true of the mechanism itself.
What’s the one number that actually tells you whether a page is working?
Before any of the design work matters, Zach pointed to a distinction most people gloss over. Every InstaBuilder page tracks both visits and unique visitors, and confusing the two will make you misjudge how a page is actually performing.
He put it plainly to the room: “a unique visitor is somebody who actually, you know, sees that page for the first time. Whereas visits, you know, could be the same person you’re visiting 10, 20, 30 times, you know?” A page with a huge visit count and a small unique visitor count is not attracting new people, it is being reloaded by the same handful of people, and that tells you something different than raw traffic ever will. The same two-week trend chart lets you match a spike in unique visitors back to whatever you posted or sent that day, so you can see, in real numbers, what actually moved people rather than guessing.
How do you test two versions of a page without just guessing which one works?
The feature Zach called the most useful in the entire tool is built-in split testing. Instead of building a page, hoping it converts, and never knowing why it did or did not, you can duplicate any page into a second variation, change one meaningful thing, a headline, a background, a button color, and split the traffic between them automatically.
- Each variation starts by default at an even split of your traffic.
- You can shift more traffic toward whichever version is performing better as data comes in.
- You can run more than two variations at once if you have more than one idea worth testing.
That single feature turns page-building from a one-time guess into an ongoing, measurable process. Instead of debating in your own head whether a headline is good, you let actual visitors decide, and you keep the version that wins.
Why does Facebook quietly block the very links you are trying to share?
The mechanism problem nobody warns you about ahead of time is what happens when a lot of people in the same company all link to pages on the same shared platform domain. Facebook’s own spam detection sees the same domain pattern repeated across many accounts and starts treating it as suspicious, which can get individual links, or entire accounts, blocked from being shared at all.
The fix is straightforward once you know it is a problem. Point your pages at your own custom domain instead of a shared one, and route outbound links through a shortening or tracking service instead of pasting the same raw URL everywhere. It solves the spam-detection problem and gives you a second benefit at the same time, a trackable click count on every link you send out, so you know exactly which post, which platform, and which day actually produced the traffic.
None of this requires becoming a developer. It requires understanding four or five specific mechanics well enough to stop being intimidated by the tool sitting in your account right now, unused, while you pay someone else or copy a page you do not understand.

So, what I wanted to kind of dive into today is the InstaBuilder, right? And the reason I want to dive into that specifically is because we actually sent out a survey in the event group and the most underutilized plugin was actually InstaBuilder. So definitely want to dive into that, teach you guys how customizable it is and then that way you guys can apply it to your own business and hopefully become even more successful. Cool?
I'm good now? Alright, sweet, sweet, sweet. Okay, cool. So, just going to go ahead and dive right in.
And if you guys don't know how to get to this area, essentially all you do is you log in through your back office, go to your My Products Kalaatu blogging system. You click on the Kalaatu blogging system, it's going to bring you to your dashboard. That's when you see the black and orange branding and all these fun buttons on the left side of the screen. And you're going to go ahead and click Plugins and Applications.
Once you click Plugins and Applications, you'll have the option to use any of the plugins that are available to use. But more importantly, you'll be able to use InstaBuilder, which is the one that we're going to be diving into today. And so those are the steps that I took to get here. I just want to make sure that every step of the way I'm explaining everything extremely clearly so you guys know exactly what steps I'm taking to get where, to do what.
And all that fun stuff. And that way, you can take the notes from this workshop and share them with your team members if they have issues, that sort of thing, right? Cool. So InstaBuilder 2.0, very powerful tool.
Here we have kind of the stats, if you scroll down a little bit. So this is the page that you land on as soon as you… Let me see if I can minimize this. Okay, perfect.
All right, cool, cool, cool. So this is the page that you land on as soon as you click on the plugin. InstaBuilder settings are kind of like global settings. You know how we all have global settings for our blog that affect the whole entire blog, every single page within it, that sort of thing?
That's what the InstaBuilder settings are for. And I'm going to definitely dive into those, but first I'm going to focus on this first tab that we're on, which is the actual main InstaBuilder application. So now scrolling down here, you'll see that it actually gives me stats. Now, these stats are extremely important.
It lets me know how many unpublished pages I have, how many published pages I have, how many visits, how many unique visitors. And really, it's really important to differentiate between how many visitors you're getting and unique visitors. Does anybody know the difference between the two? Raise your hand.
You there in the red in the back. Correct. So I'll reiterate it so that way it's recorded, you know, because this is going to be, you know, built, recorded, and thrown into the dashboard. What he said was is that a unique visitor is somebody who actually, you know, sees that page for the first time.
Whereas visits, you know, could be the same person you're visiting 10, 20, 30 times, you know? And really what you're trying to look for is unique visitors, right? Because a lot of times, you know, maybe, you know, the first time somebody lands on your page, they're probably most likely to buy them because it's brand new, their curiosity is peaked. But if they see a page, you know, a few times over, then they're, you know, maybe they already opted in or maybe they already decided this wasn't for them.
You know, a decision has already been made in most cases, right? So scrolling down here, what's super amazing and interesting as well is you also have your visitors chart for the last two weeks. So this is going to give you your last two weeks. And if you've had a spike in visitors, you'll be able to really track the page you built, and the type of traffic that you're getting on that page.
And what's amazing about getting the two-week snapshot that you see here is you can see trends. So if you, for instance, if you make a page on InstaBuilder here, and you send out that same link every single day, you know, for a week, let's just call it a week, well, you'll be able to see, okay, you know what? I sent out my link on Saturday, and on Saturday, I noticed that I got, you know, 30 more unique clicks, you know, 20 more unique clicks than I usually do. So you can really, you know, hone in and use this as a tool to really bring, you know, the science to marketing and say, okay, you know what?
On these days from this source, I really have a lot of success. So that, you know, extremely useful, you know, graph there. Let me scroll down here, and now we actually get into the fun stuff. The fun stuff is the buttons that actually do things.
And the three main kind of functions, you know, are the buttons that actually do things. And the three main kind of functions, you know, And the three main kind of functions, you know, of the insta builder there's three different facets here and that's new page new group and import the the biggest kind of section that we're going to cover today is going to be the new page new group helps you keep your pages organized and import actually there are people out there that actually build insta builder templates and what they can do is they can actually take the insta builder template and export it from their application and then they can you know sell it online or share it with other people that sort of thing and then if you get a hold of that if that of that file you hit import you select that file on your computer and you'll actually import that template so it's super useful if you know if you have a team member that's like you know I don't even know how to get started with this you know we'll go over how to you know help them you know import something so that way it's more plug-and-play for them right sounds good so good so far cool cool cool all right let me know if I'm going too fast or if I'm going too slow or you know this or that right cool so I'm going to go ahead and what we're going to talk about next is I'm going to save the best for last the new page and I'm going to hop into the new group just to show you guys how that function works so so essentially here's what you got here here's my actual page group I'm going to click on this and I have the page groups and I just found that by you know scrolling down past the actual you know action buttons I'm going to call them action buttons and here you have the page groups and so you see here that I've already created a test group a group name test and it's got one page in there and I have a different number of actions here so very simple the little file button actually opens up that group and shows you what pages that you in there as well as you know the different functions that you get when you're looking you know when you're when you want to edit the page and maybe the global settings of that page and we'll dive into that once we're actually creating a page but for right now I just want to show you guys how the how the group settings work and so once I'm actually you know once I hit that little folder button so I'm gonna head back I'm gonna scroll down and I'm just gonna do it one more time for you guys so that way it's you know imprinted in your brain and you see all these logos and they really make sense when you're actually clicking through the system is you know I click the view group button which is that little folder and then I go ahead and scroll back up and it's gonna bring me to all my pages that are in that folder and then from here you can you know delete pages you can add pages to that group it's really you know up to you you know at that point because that main tool the main tool with this is that it needs you know it's gonna keep you organized when you're building all these lead capture pages because maybe you know some people have you know maybe some people only do you know one or two pages and they don't really you know need to keep track of any groups or you know they're only focused on maybe one niche or one product but when you deal with groups it's very important to keep everything organized so that way you know okay I have all of my you know free ebook capture pages in the free ebook folder right I have all of my webinar pages on the webinar in the webinar group right so that's that's that feature it's it's a pretty it's pretty simple to use I'll go ahead and create another group just so I can show you guys you know how that processes I mean it's very simple you know I just hit you know new group this green button right here enter in typing with one hand here that's a skill right there right and then hit create group and I put a little smiley face there too I use a lot of smiley faces if any of you guys have dealt with me through email I smiley face the crap out of my emails I don't know if it doesn't work for you guys but I use a lot of smiley faces if any of you guys have dealt with me through email I smiley face the crap out of my emails I hope it doesn't make anybody feel uncomfortable here but there you see it test two it's right there the I can see you know how many pages I have in there you know I can mess with the the settings I can duplicate it I can delete it I can check it out you know if I want to see how I don't have any you know landing pages in there and that's you know that's really the you know very simple function and that is your new group function on there when you hit the new action button it's going to do the same thing I just hit the button that was a little bit lower in the group area so up next year I have the most fun that I I've been dying to get into and that is the new page button so this new page button is is is really what the instant builder you know 2.0 is what it's what it's all about because what that button allows you to do is create a brand new page you pick a template and you can even customize that template very very much so I mean it's just going to blow your mind about the things that you can do so let's just go ahead and hop into it so when I when I hit that button let me zoom out here a little bit all right cool so when when I clicked on that button this pop-up came up and what these are are these are different templates that are already created in instant builder and now it's my turn to actually pick the one I want on and what's amazing about this is that we we actually implemented early we have so many templates that we actually um you know added categories so you can I mean right away you can look at you know sales pages squeeze pages launch pages webinar pages coming soon pagers and then you know others and it's it's gonna be organized for you guys and it's going to allow you to do so many more things with your business you know how many people in here have wanted to put on a webinar but couldn't figure out how to, you know, make sure that people actually go on your webinar and you have leads for the webinar and all that jazz.
Raise your hand. Perfect. Okay, perfect. So this is perfect for you guys.
So here's what we'll do is I'm just going to stick with the sales page and we're just going to go ahead and jump into, which one looks good? Let's do, let's do this one. Let's, I'm going to do the first one. And so I'm going to choose this.
It's going to open up in a new tab. It's going to populate everything. And then boom, there it is. That's the, that's the page.
And it's, and it's, you know, essentially it's ready to go. You know, obviously I'm not going to be selling a fancy headline or anything, you know, I don't want to change that, but all of the elements are there. They're fully customizable and I'm just going to go ahead and kind of click around and show you guys what each of the different functions do and how you can kind of customize it and edit it to your liking. Okay.
Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool.
So there's a lot on this page. Forgive me if it seems like I'm jumping around a little bit. I want to keep everything as organized as possible, but there's just so much on this page that you might see me be like, okay, you know what? Let's head over here now because it makes more sense to go here now.
And then we'll head back over there and all that stuff. Right. It's going to be fun guys. It's going to be awesome.
Cool. So the first thing that I want to start with is going to be your settings in the top right corner. The top right corner. I don't know if you guys, yeah, you guys should be able to see those.
They're kind of grayed out. The first two buttons there are undo and redo. You know, we've all been in Microsoft Word and we accidentally deleted something or, you know, delete the whole document or, you know, and then replace it with cats because you're trying to do a Google search for cats and the word pop, you know, document popped up or whatever. And so this is awesome that you can actually go in and you can hit undo and undo any mistakes that you made.
Or if you, you know, try to format something and you're like, ah, it just doesn't look good. Right. And you can even redo, which is, which is really awesome. You know, definitely, definitely extremely user friendly.
A lot of, a lot of builders may not, you know, build that just because it's, you know, it's not, it's not an imperative thing for an application to have, but it's just so much more useful when you can just hit undo. I know I always, I hit undo, you know, when I'm writing emails and that sort of thing. So the next, the next button that you see up there is going to be the preview page button. And that is going to be a little eyeball.
When you hover over it, it says preview page and that is exactly what it does. It gives you a preview of the live page. And so super useful as you're making changes, you know, maybe you don't want to see, you know, all this, you know, how the, how the video's not really, you know, it's just a placeholder right now. And, you know, you have this toolbar here that's used for editing.
You know, maybe you want to see what it looks like, you know, with that. But, you know, that's something that you can do. You can do it without that, you know. So this is what your prospects are going to see.
You know, this is what people, if you send them to the, this page, this is what they'll see. And then up next, we have a settings icon, the little cog. And in, within that settings icon, we have just an amazing amount of different options and different things that we can actually jump into. I'm going to go ahead and jump into those after I finish with that top bar.
So that way, you know, you guys can understand, you know, everything on the top bar, you know, then we'll kind of, you know, hit each, you know, each setting and everything individually. So that way, you guys know exactly what each thing does what, right? Cool. So that is going to give you all of your, if you want a brief description of what that button is going to give you access to, it's going to give you access to a bunch of general settings for that specific page.
All right. And then up next, you have the infamous save button. And then, of course, you've got the, you know, the, you know, the, you know, the, you know, publicize, right? So that will hopefully take you to some of the data sets that go Then all the way over to the right, we have this little drop-down menu, and it's the tiniest arrow in the world, and it's almost like you can miss it, and it's definitely got some interesting features.
You've got the export function, which is what I was saying earlier. If you have team members that are having trouble setting up their own InstaBuilder page, and you're like, oh, dude, I've got a 30% converting InstaBuilder page. Why don't you try out my template? And then you can export it, and then all they have to do is import it, and then obviously plug in their own Git response and their AWeber and all that fun stuff that we have to do.
And so that's actually the menu that you would actually export it from. Here, you can also publish to Facebook. You can save as the template, and you can even exit from there. So it's kind of like if you're not looking to publish it right away.
But you're not looking to publish it right away. But you're not looking to publish it right away. But you still want to take it and do something else with it. That's what I would use that drop-down menu for.
And then coming on over to the left side here, here's where you can actually change your permalink. And so what your permalink is, what a permalink is, is where the page is nested on your domain. So I know, how many people have custom domains here? Perfect.
Okay, sweet, sweet, sweet. So as you know, when you make a blog post, your URL is going to be ZacharyForsch.com slash the blog post name. Well, this one, this is where you can actually change what happens after that slash. So you can make that, after that slash, you can make it InstaBuilder page one, whatever you want to call it.
But just know that when you send out that link, people are going to read what that says. So if I made it, for instance, here, instead of it being buildingabrandonline.com, forward slash the support blog, you know, forward slash, you know, InstaBuilder test one, you know, it would be, you know, the supportblog.com, if that was my domain name, slash, you know, InstaBuilder test one. Does that make sense to everybody? It's a little tricky explaining permalinks.
Okay, cool. All right, perfect. So this next button is super duper useful, super duper. This is for split testing.
This is for… This is for, you know, getting down to the nitty gritty of, you know, of marketing where you're actually, you know, testing out a few different things, trying to figure out what works for you and your brand and your niche. So here's what you're going to do. Up here, you have variation.
You can see that it's selected on variation A, right? Well, here's what I can actually do is I can actually create a new variation and I can also mess with my split test settings, which I'm going to get into after I create a new variation. So I'm going to go ahead and create a new variation. And it's going to give you a few different options here.
You can duplicate, you know, just duplicate the current variation and then add, you know, your finishing touches that you want to make to separate it from the original, you know, template. Or you can use a new template or you can just create one from scratch. For the purpose of this training, I'm just going to go ahead and duplicate the current variation. I almost said that and then clicked something else.
And then it's going to do its thing. And now, as you guys can see, I'm on variation B. Now, what's so amazing about this is, you know, it's cool. I mean, it basically just copy and pasted the whole entire, you know, page that I just built.
But what's even cooler than that is I can go here and I can go to split test settings. And this is where it's really going to come in, right over here, guys. This is where you can actually set your traffic weight. So what this means here, variation A and variation B both get 50% of the total traffic.
So what that means? Is if you have 100 people go to that link, that permalink that you set, 50 of them are going to land on variation A. 50 of them are going to land on variation B. And what's amazing is you can fluctuate those numbers if you want to test things more, you know, more rigorously.
Or if you're having a lot more success with variation B and you're only in, like, day one into your, you know, ad campaign. Then you can start, you know, pushing over even more and more traffic to variation B. So super duper easy. Super useful.
Super, you know, just when you're trying to get scientific with your marketing, this right here is really going to help. Cool? Sweet. Yeah, sure.
No, no. Yeah, yeah. So I'll hop into the change permalink a little bit more so that everybody understands it. So if you have your own domain, the pages.
Everything that we build within Empower Network, when you guys actually sign up for Kalatu, we only integrate with your domain. We don't actually change any of the settings on your domain, right? We don't actually go in there, you know, and set up the CNAME settings. Those are all things that you have to do manually yourself.
So when we go, for instance, on this InstaBuilder page and we change the permalink, all we're doing is changing what actually happens after that slash. So, you know, if your domain is… ZacharyForsch.com, you know, the only thing that building, the only thing that this permalink is going to change is what comes after that final slash, that forward slash, right? So it would be ZacharyForsch.com forward slash, you know, blah, blah, blah, InstaBuilder page, you know, .html or, you know, whatever the ending is.
So, hmm, let me think of a good way to explain this. Does that kind of help or not really? Hmm? Yeah.
Correct. Yeah, yeah. So it'll appear with your custom domain and then forward slash whatever your permalink is. And how that actually works is that it's a little complicated, but I'll do it, you know, very, very simple.
Yeah, I like, yeah, no, I like explaining stuff like this, though, you know, is if you have a domain, everything that comes after the slash, that's essentially like another file or folder. Or, you know, another piece to your web page puzzle, right? And so when you, you know… Add the permalink on the end there, and what you're doing is you're just adding to the content of that domain.
You're not, you know, creating, like, a new domain or a subdomain that's nested under the main domain. You're just adding more content to it. Does that make sense? Cool, cool.
All right, perfect. So, sweet, sweet. Well, in this case, for those of you that didn't hear it, he asked me if, how I can differentiate between A and B. And essentially, you know…
Obviously, in this particular scenario, I haven't made any changes, you know, between the two of them, but normally, you know, what you would want to do from a marketing perspective is, you know, you'd get your variation A down, and maybe you have a really good idea that you want to test out, so you get your variation B down. And maybe variation B, the only thing that's different is your background is orange, or your background is white, or instead of saying, you know, your fancy headline here, you say, you know, want to buy my product, or, you know.
So, those are changes that… You implement yourself, and those are things that, you know, if you want to… If you want to… If you think of a good idea, and you want to split test that, that's the whole point of these…
Of the variation tool. So, you can make, you know, maybe small details, or even big details. You can change out the whole entire page. And you can split test both of them.
Does that make sense? Cool, cool, cool. All right, all right, cool. So, I am going to get into kind of the biggest…
The biggest piece of the puzzle right here, which is going to be the… I'm going to call it the editing sidebar. Now, this editing sidebar, the way it works is it actually infuses the HTML into… What's the word I'm looking for?
It injects it. It injects the HTML into the page. So, for instance, if I want to add a video element, I just drag and drop a video element. And it actually nests the HTML where it needs to be for it to appear there.
Now, obviously, I don't want a, you know, a video down there. But I just wanted to show you what it would seem like. You know, what it would look like. And so, there's a wide variety of options.
A good amount of them are self-explanatory. And some of them take a little more, you know, a few more steps to actually set up. So, I'm just going to kind of go through them all. So, that way you guys can see them all.
And, you know, see what effect they have. See what effect they have on your page. And that way when you guys check it out later. And, you know, you guys are walking through this.
You can be like, okay, I remember, you know, when Zach put that in there. You know, it goofed up the, you know, all the headlines and everything. Or, you know, that's how you implement a video. That sort of thing, right?
So, this first, these first three up here are actually just going to be little sections. And so, you have the regular section, the wide section, and then the wide background box. Which is obviously going to give you a background. But essentially, in these individual sections, you're going to actually unlock a multitude of different customization options.
Now, you guys understand, this is, I mean, this is super complex here. Let's see here. So, for that HTML element that I just put in, I just put in the section HTML element, which is that up there. And then what I did was.
Is I actually. Here, let me hide this panel. Let me click on it again. And then what I did was.
Is I noticed that it took up that space right there. So, I clicked on it. And that way I can see exactly, you know, where it's at. You know, what's it affecting.
You know, how is it affecting the page. And I can kind of play around with it, right? And manipulate it. So, when you implement these elements into your page.
And when it injects the code. What it's going to allow you to do. Is it's going to allow you to change the attributes. For all those different HTML elements.
So, for instance, for this HTML element. What it is. All it is. Is that it's a giant section.
Giant blank section. If I wanted to create space, right? So, what I do. Is I look at it.
You know, I can, you know, zoom in. I can unzoom. You know, I can copy it. I can delete it.
But most importantly is I can change the settings. And what the settings change is, like I just said. The attributes. Of that section.
That is not what I wanted to click on. I clicked on Wirecast. Cool, cool. All right.
But anyway. So, here are the section settings. As you can see here. In the section settings.
You can literally change almost any attribute. That you want for this HTML element. Margin and padding. Let me take one second.
I'm going to look up a. A real quick infographic. That explains the difference between the two. Because it's just a lot easier to see visually.
The difference between a margin and padding. You guys, you guys good with me on that? Cool, cool, cool. All right.
So, this is, this is the infographic. Super, super-duper useful when, when looking at HTML elements. You have the margin. And then you also have the padding.
So, the margin is going to be how much space there is from the edges of the screen. So, if you look at, you know, this, this right here, this black line, as the edge of the screen. Then all this gray space here is all the padding. Or, I'm sorry, not the padding.
Ignore that. The margin. Thank you. It's going to be the margin.
And so, you know, if you have too big of margins on the sides, then it's going to, you know, seem all squished. If you have too, too much margin from the bottom and the top, you know, it's going to be, you know, cramped horizontally. Right? So, so these are all attributes that can actually be changed in, in, in, in InstaBuilder 2.0.
And so, you can actually change the, the amount of margin and the amount of padding. And the, every single HTML element has every single side, top margin, bottom margin, top padding, bottom padding, left padding, right padding. And the padding is what's going to separate. Your content, like on this page, your padding is going to separate your content from the border.
So, you want a good amount of, a good amount of padding, just so that way it doesn't look like your, you know, whatever you write in that section, you know, is touching the border. If you decide to use, you know, a dotted border or a lined border, it'll all kind of run together and you definitely don't want that. So, something to note is that, you know, margins in padding is all dealt with in pixels. And so, it, it can, it can be kind of hard to kind of gauge, you know, how much padding and how much, you know, what type of margins you need, that sort of thing.
For, for, in, in this case, in most cases, because there's already templates made, you really won't have to mess with the margin, margin so much as the padding. The padding is really going to be key to making your content, you know, stand out and, and, you know, have the right amount of spacing. Because, have you ever gone on a website and, you know, the button, maybe the text in the middle of the button, you know, you want to, a little bit to the right or a little bit to the left, and it just doesn't look right, right?
And so, so this is, you know, this is where they actually set those numbers on those pages. So, you can see by default, it has 15 pixels of top padding, 15 pixels of bottom padding, 25 pixels of left padding, 25 pixels of right padding. And honestly, most of the time, you're probably not going to want to, you know, mess with those. Because that, that, that, those are very comfortable numbers.
It's definitely not going to be a problem. It's definitely not too, yeah, it's not too long, and it's definitely not too short. So, honestly, I wouldn't, you know, I wouldn't touch these things, but I did want to explain everything to you in case you got into a position where you're like, okay, you know what, this isn't lining up correctly. I need, I know from, you know, what Zach said earlier, that, you know, my padding is off.
So, I'm going to go ahead and, you know, remove more left padding so that way it lines up more correctly. So, that's margin and padding. Background color is very, you know, very important. It's very simple.
All you're doing is you're setting the, the, the background color. I'm going to go ahead and do that so that way you guys can see the effect it has. So, let me see here. And, and, you know, there's a few other options on there, like the glossy effect and the transparent, you know, background color.
Maybe you have an image in the, you know, in your background, and you want that to show through, but maybe through, you know, a transparent, you know, a red lens or anything like that. So, you know, background color, pretty simple. Background image. It's the same thing.
It's, you know, it's, you're going to be able to upload an image. It's going to be the background of that HTML element. In this case, in this case, this HTML element that I'm editing is still the section. I'm still in the section.
I'm just looking at the settings for that particular section. So, you'll notice some extra options here. Background image style, image position, image attachment, and then you also have the, the actual URL that you put in there for the background image. It's a little bit different than uploading your image.
You can use a URL if you want, but it's, a lot of times, it's just easier to upload from your computer. So, that's just what I would do. You know, if you have the image that you want on your computer, I would just upload it from there. And then also, you know, these, these, these options are extremely useful as well, depending on the type of look that you want.
You know, you can tile them. You can stretch it. Stretch. What stretch does, if anybody isn't aware, is it actually takes that image and stretches it for the entire length of whatever HTML element is, or, yeah, that, whatever HTML element that you uploaded that background image to.
Yeah. Cool. So, let's see here. You also have the, the scroll or the fix.
If you, if you do scroll, I'm sure you guys have been on websites where the images and the elements kind of scroll with you. Okay. You still see the, you know, the, the image kind of scrolls with you and keeps up with your screen. That's what that scroll feature is.
So, I'm just going to go ahead and look at. So, now we have borders. Borders, again, I'm going to go back to this useful infographic here. Borders is just going to be around the content.
And, you know, without padding, it's actually going to, you know, frame your content, you know, without, without much, you know, margin around it. So, let's see here. Yeah, so, so essentially, you know, if you guys don't touch the padding, you guys will be good to go. You won't have to worry about it.
But if you guys wanted a border to kind of, you know, frame your content that you, you put in that HTML element, then, then this is, you know, this is the, these are the settings that you'd actually use it on. And these are, you know, this is where you can actually set, you know, if you want solid dashed, you know, dots. dotted, double line. You also have the thickness.
You can mess with the thickness. You can make it a really thick border if you really want it to stand out. If you just want it to kind of lightly outline the area, you just keep it not as thick. And again, if you notice, all of it is in pixels.
The reason that they do the pixels is because it actually depends on the user's screen. Instead of saying, hey, I want it like two inches from the left, well, then whenever it loads that web page, it's always going to put it two inches from that left. And so when it's pixels, it's going to conform to that user's resolution. And some people, they have really big monitors.
Maybe they use their TV, and they have really big screens. And some people have much smaller screens, right? So it's extremely useful. Rounded quarters, opacity, and shape.
Shadow, display delay. If you want to add a delay to when that HTML element appears, then you can do that here. You just select it on, and then you can just delay it as long as you want. And essentially, what will happen is after that delay passes, that HTML element will then appear on that page.
So for instance, if you have a video, and you don't want the Buy Now button to appear, what you'll do is you can… And I'll show you guys on the other buttons how to make that button appear. But for right now, just talking about the section, what would happen is I would set it for a minute, and then after a minute passed, this section would actually populate. So I mean, not very useful in this context, because it's just a section.
But once you guys see what the other HTML elements are, then you'll be able to be like, okay, you know what? I can edit all of that that we talked about, but with a button, it becomes, you know, a lot more useful, or a link, or a video. It becomes a lot more useful, and a lot more versatile. Let's see here.
And then you also have the effect. What's up? Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I can definitely do that. Yeah. Yeah, what I'll do is I'll actually input a different HTML element.
Let's see what we got here. We got an image element. We got a video element. Countdown, button, opt-in form.
Let's do address. Let's do a title element. Let's put a title up there. Let me see here.
Whoa! Can I do it on there? Wow! That's cool!
OK. Cool. I'm always learning new things with some of these applications. I think I've learned like every facet of it, and then like something else pops up, and so I could be like, you know.
So I'm actually, what I actually did did there is I went over to the title element and I dragged it over where the video is and that way I can add a title to the top of the video and so for instance so let me let me get rid of this guy because I don't want I don't want him I already have one of them here and then so what I'm gonna do is I'm just gonna edit for example here I'm sorry say that again oh yeah yeah for sure yeah yeah so so to give you an idea here so here here's what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna delete all the things that I've done on this page so that way it's just a normal page as if you just you know selected that template and then what you're gonna do over here these are all elements that you can actually in you know inject into the into the page and so what I did is I just took the title element and I just went in you know stuck it somewhere like right here and then now that element actually appears you know right there and what I can do from there because I want to edit it is I just go ahead and I double click on it so I can click once and I get a bunch of you know settings and you know and there I can click again to edit the text and I can copy it and I can delete it but you know I can just edit text and what I'll do is you know I can say you know by you know by this now you know for the sake of this that is what I'm going to do and I'm gonna make it white so it stands out and then that is now you know good to go on that page right so if I hit publish right now it'll build me a page with everything in that in that by this now section they're available so what I can then do just like how I was going over all of the different attributes each element has as I can actually go to the settings button for that title element and then from there I can actually you know mess with the settings as far as you know adding you know text shadow color text shadow blur display animation any of those settings that I want to mess with and add that's where you would actually do that and every single one of these elements has their own attributes that you can you know you can then edit right yes so it gets very very in-depth it does see it can seem very overwhelming but here here's my you know here's my advice to you guys is you know don't worry about the individual attributes for the you know for the individual parts of your page so for instance I'm not gonna worry about you know you know how to make that appear and whether or not it should have shadows and stuff like that what I'm gonna worry about is the content that's in that box and you know and above that box and you know what colors it is you know very simple stuff because as long as everything looks congruent that's what you want right you don't you know you don't really need a bunch of flashy like here comes you know an image from you know the dark side of the force or whatever right and so really these extra attributes are only there if you really want to use them but honestly most the time that you really don't need to even mess with them what you're gonna mostly mess with is injecting all of these different elements onto your page depending on you know what you want to change.
So for instance I'm gonna get I'm just gonna go ahead and you know really change up this page for you guys so you guys can kinda see you know how it works and how it flows So I'm gonna delete that video. Delete please thank you. And then I feel like adding a countdown there. So I added a countdown there I have a few different options here I'm probably gonna go you know to the settings and I'm gonna configure the oh wow check all this out that's cool okay cool.
It's pretty awesome man there's there's a lot with it you know there's a lot with it So, no this is perfect perfect I can explain this now because who wants to use a countdown timer on their on their page right? Okay good good a good amount of you. So you can have an exact date and time which would be useful for you know registering registering for a webcast or for a live event or even if you know of a promotion that's going to end at a certain time so you can actually set the the exact time and date and you can actually set it you know using this this scheduling widget and then the actual hour and it's a 24-hour format in the minutes there and then you can also change the time zone so a lot of things that can be customized here and that's for the exact date and time evergreen okay cool cool okay evergreen from what I understand evergreen is going to what's that mean is that whenever somebody lands on your page it's gonna start that countdown timer whenever they land on that page now if you do cookie based you're gonna want to do cookie paste over cookie based I almost said cookie paste I'm like getting hungry or something man you're gonna want to do cookie based over evergreen first of all because it sounds delicious and and what what cookie based means is when somebody visits this site and they see this countdown timer what's gonna happen is we actually this page is gonna put a cookie in their computer that the next time that they actually go through the next time that they actually go through the next time that they actually go through the come back and look at the page the timer is gonna either the timer is gonna come back and look at the page the timer is gonna either the timer is gonna pick off exactly where they left off and so the remaining time you know for let's pick off exactly where they left off and so the remaining time you know for let's say it's two hours and the person you know waits an hour on that page and then say it's two hours and the person you know waits an hour on that page and then leaves you know if they came back and it was evergreen then then you know it's leaves you know if they came back and it was evergreen then then you know it's gonna restart you know at the two hours if it's cookie based then it's gonna say gonna restart you know at the two hours if it's cookie based then it's gonna say you know what this person's been here before he's waited an hour you know he only has you know he has an hour left to wait on the countdown timer does that make sense everybody cool cool perfect all right so that that for example that is the that is the countdown element of course you have the button element which is the classic you know click here and even the button element that I just put in there did you guys see how I put that in there you want me to do that again do it again okay perfect let me okay cool cool let me delete you there we go all right so so what I did was is I found the button element on this on this guy right here and then all I did all you're gonna do with this is it's all drag and drop so I'm just gonna go ahead and you know click down on the mouse and then drag it where I want it to go and you can see the different places that are popping up they're like okay it could fit here it could fit here you know in this area in this column that sort of thing and so you know let's put it let's put it like a right under this button or probably yeah let's go with above it and there's the button you know and it appears there so and that's how every single one of these things excuse me worked you know you've got the tab content you have video you have images I mean you have everything you know today's date it's all gonna be drag-and-drop so it's very you know it's very intuitive you know it's very intuitive you know it's very intuitive so I can just you know I can just fill this up with a bunch of different things you know who got the opt-in form I've got a social share you know what else do I want there let's do oh let's do comments comments are are big let's throw some comments there what can I nest them cool perfect perfect okay cool so now I've added a whole bunch of different HTML elements and you guys saw how I was doing that right by just dragging a bunch of crap over right so I've added a whole bunch of different HTML elements and you guys saw how I was doing that right so it's you know this this page obviously wouldn't really work you know if you wanted to you know use it and all that you know it'd be a little confusing somebody would land on and be like what's going on somebody's got a chill with this dude like it and tweetin and off the NIN and there's two buttons there's two buttons so yeah there's three right there's a subscribe there's a subscribe there's click here and there's get started so you know it's telling me to click here but then it's also telling me to get something done.
so you know it's telling me to click here but then it's also telling me to get something done. started and subscribe, it's very confusing. I would be scared if I landed on this page, you know, between you and, you know, me and you guys. But, you know, I'll kind of hop into some of the HTML elements that take a little bit more know-how in order to customize them and get them all set up and running correctly.
So with the image one, it's going to be pretty simple. So I'm not really going to dive into that one too much. You know, you just go ahead and upload an image. It's going to have, you know, basically the same settings, you know, the margin is going to be there, you know, animation, that sort of thing.
So that's a really quick overview for that one. The share settings, I'm going to stay on this page. And then I'm going to, you know, I'm going to hit the settings for that. And then here is where you can actually, you know, select if you want Facebook only, if you want Twitter, you want LinkedIn, you want Google Plus.
And you can even set a custom. URL to be shared whenever somebody clicks that link. So if you want them to share, you know, your blog, you can actually add that in there and it'll appear as a button down there to share, as a share counter. Does that make sense?
Cool. Perfect. And so, let me see. And so what I'll talk a little bit more about how to set up the Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google Plus, because this all pulls from your Kulatu account.
So you don't have to, you know, mess with a bunch of API and, you know, you can set up a bunch of API and, you know, you can set up a bunch of API and, you know, you can set up a bunch of API and, you know, you can set up a bunch of API upside down and left side up, you know. Sure. No, no. If you guys didn't hear the question, what he was asking is he was asking if you had a video and if the video ended, could you just have another video pick right back off, right?
Yeah. Oh, you wanted to pick up where it left off. Yeah. Unfortunately, that would depend.
So here's what he's asking is he's asking if someone is going to pick up where it left off. And if you're going to pick up where it left off, if you have a three-minute video, somebody watches a minute, then leaves and comes back, you know, and, you know, he's wondering if we're able to start it off, you know, where that person left. And honestly, that mostly depends on, you know, the media hosting and their capabilities, not so much, you know, the HTML elements and things on the page. Because when somebody lands on a page and they start watching the video, they're actually just downloading the video from the media hosting site.
That's essentially what's happening. And so it would have to be something on the media hosting side where they, you know, give that person a cookie or, you know, something like that. And, you know, it, you know, tracks that IP or, you know, something along those lines that allows them to be like, okay, you know what, this person sat for one minute through my video, you know, now I'm going to pick off at, you know, two minutes, you know, whatever it is, right? So does that answer your question, sir?
Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, cool. Let's see here.
Yeah, if you do use Empower Hosting, you can loop it. Miguel, my friend. Oh, the button text? Yeah, yeah, I can actually hop into that now.
So he's actually wondering if we, if we can actually change the text that's on the buttons here. And you certainly can. And so, and so what you do is you just click on the button. You just hit that little settings, little button there, a lot of attributes that you can, you can change for that button.
You can change the text. You can change the style, the, you know, the hover colors. So you can make it pretty obvious that when somebody's hovering over it, I mean, there's a lot of things that you can change here. So you can just go to town, you know, definitely play with it.
Cool. So let me, let me scroll down and let me look at the comments. So next I'm going to look at the comments. And then I'm going to go ahead and hop into the global settings.
It's, the global settings are, are fairly simple. But I did want to save them for last, just so that way you guys understand, you know, everything that you can do with it and then how the settings would affect everything that you have on this page. Right. So I'm going to follow up here with the, the comment box.
And this is an HTML element that I actually dragged and dropped. Let me see which one is it? Which one is it? Comment there.
So it looks like the, you know, it looks like a little messaging icon. And I just, you know, grabbed it and I, and I, and I put it somewhere. The yellow means it's going to, the yellow means it's going to be able to be put in there. The blue means it's, you know, it can't be put there.
So you see how it lights up blue and then it lights up yellow. Well, the yellow I can do, the blue with the dotted line, it won't let me, you know, won't let me actually put that feature there. So I'm just going to go ahead and remove that because we already have two comment boxes on here. So comment box, I just put it on there.
I'm going to go ahead and hit settings. What this is going to allow you to do is change the comment system. We have two different comment systems, Facebook and Discus. And I'll show you guys exactly how everything links up on that page in the, in the final page that I said I was going to go over, which is the global settings.
But for now, you know, you, you guys understand that when you guys do comments, you can either do Facebook or Discus. Sounds good. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Here I'll, I'll, I'll look at that. So, so here's something also you can do is you can actually do a, there's, there's so many options here. You can, you can do an opt-in form, which is what I had there already.
And, and that's going to, you know, that's going to link up to your get response account and that sort of thing. As far as like a, a, a contact me form, this is probably the closest that, you know, you'll be able to get to just because, you know, a lot of times with contact forms, there may be like, phone numbers and, and that sort of thing. And it has to have certain protocols to, to pass along that information. But when you use, when you use this subscribe, I'm sorry, what is it?
Opt-in box. It's, it's going to be linked up to your autoresponder and your autoresponder, you know, here's that information when somebody submits it and goes, okay, I'm going to take, you know, the information they submitted, their first name and email address and pass that along to, you know, get response or Aweber, whatever you're using. Right. Yeah.
So let me, so if, if there was a contact me button, then it would have to be like, it would have to be like linked up to something where you could actually go in and look at, you know, all the people that submitted their information there. Does that make sense? Cool. All right.
Let's see here. So looking at the opt-in box, there's a lot of different options that you have here to play with. You can actually insert your own opt-in form HTML code. I know for a fact that get response, I believe gives you this information.
Here's where you'd actually paste it. And once you paste it, you hit process. As long as everything's correct, it'll go ahead and, you know, change this to match the settings that you have in your get response account that you set up with the HTML code. So this is something that's, that's actually configured in your get, in your autoresponder account.
Right. So it isn't actually something that can be edited from, you know, from the InstaBuilder program. This is going to be something that if you plug into here, you know, it's going to be, you know, you're going to be able to see whatever settings that you have in your autoresponder account. Right.
But if you leave it default, then, you know, it's going to stay the same and you can edit it and that sort of thing. Does that make sense? Cool. Yeah.
Over here. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
It has both in there. Cool. Perfect. Cool.
So I am, I have been talking for, for quite a long time and I know that we do have some other very important speakers. So I'm just going to go ahead and wrap this up as best as I can with a pretty bow. I hope you guys, you know, found this really, you know, really informative. I know that there's, you know, there's even things that I've caught myself on that I'm like, you know, I didn't realize that there was, it was this in depth, you know what I'm saying?
Because, you know, usually I'm just going in and making sure something's broken and then, you know, reporting it to the programmers or, you know, telling people how to fix it. Right. Cool. So there are some more HTML elements here.
What I would personally do when you guys, you know, get on your laptops and you guys go on and just, just, I mean, just go to town, just like drag and drop like a bunch of different things and just kind of see what each thing does. Because really, if you're, if you have your own curiosity about it, you'll be able to figure this all out and you'll be able to really create like magnificent lead capture pages that look really professional and you guys don't even have to know any coding. Right. So I would definitely, when you guys, you know, leave here, I would definitely go on and just, you know, start dragging and dropping all this stuff.
So I'm going to go ahead and just start dragging and dropping all this stuff. So I'm going to go ahead and just start dragging and dropping all this stuff. So I'm going to type of things, you know, really, really play with it. And if you'd run into any issues, you know, feel free to reach out to us.
Because there's a lot of things that we, you know, whenever a member finds something, you know, in support and it's like, you know, it's like, how the heck do they find that? You know, it's like, how the heck do they get to, you know, this page and this page and this page into this sub page and this sub page, you know, it's really, it's really exciting for me and my team to, to, you know, stumble across, across a ticket that's like, you know, like, okay, I'm going to have to like spend like 15 minutes just like checking out what they did on their account in order to figure out how they got to where they're at, you know?
So, I mean, go to town for sure. So there is some, there are some combo elements that I did, I do want to touch upon this, you know, very briefly. And what combo elements are is that you saw all the basic, you saw all the elements on that first page, right? How they were all separated.
Well, combo elements just take two of those things and plug it into the same, into one element. So that way it's just one group. Does that make sense? So I'll throw one, I'll throw one on there to show you how it looks.
We got, we got product box, we got text and image. So you got text and a little image. So they all look, you know, a little bit different and you can kind of, you know, you know, put them wherever you want. We got a fancy opt-in box here.
Let's see how that looks. Oh, wow. That looks nice. Fancy.
Check that out. I got a, I got an opt-in box in an opt-in box. Look at that. Get awesome local deals now.
I'm getting crazy with it, you know. Let's see. I want to see what order scarcity is, you know. Oh, wow.
That's cool. So that's like a whole thing within itself. Count on setup. We got, oh, what's the expire reaction?
Oh, that's cool. So, so apparently with the, what is this? Fancy? It's not fancy, is it?
Order scarcity. Order scarcity. It looks like you're going to have a little bit more options. You know, these are definitely more advanced features that if you use these, definitely dive into their settings.
You know, so that way you can get real particular about how your page acts, right? So, you know, these are just, you know, a few, you know, these are the examples or the, the, the, the special elements that really work well together. And so they've grouped them up. So that way it's an easy drag and drop sort of system, right?
So let me see if there's, is there any I didn't click on? Let me see this one. Order scarcity one. And it's got a little button.
That's cool. So, you know, obviously with, with all these things, you're going to have to go in and kind of see how it plays out for that, for that page. But, you know, as you guys can see, there's a lot to this, right? There's a lot of different, you know, little features and little things that we can do that you can do to really customize your own capture page and really make it your own.
And that way, when people land on your page, your page is, is unique. It stands out, you know, and it can be something that you offer for your own brand or for your own niche, right? Cool, cool. So I am, I am going to very quickly here, hop over, hop on back to the main page.
We'll leave that page. Cool. So we're back into the, into the page with that. That doesn't seem as fun anymore.
Because we just had like the most, you know, the best playground to play on for like the past, like 30 minutes, 45 minutes, right? So let me head up here to the top. Up here, we have training videos. We have FAQ, which is super useful.
If you guys ever get stuck, you know, if, if you have any, well, here in support, if you guys have a specific problem in, that's covered in the training video, maybe you got to minute three minutes. And 52 seconds. If you let us know, like, hey, I got the three minutes and 52 seconds. And then after that, I was lost.
Then we can actually pick up right where the training video left off. I'm just letting you guys know that. Because we've had a few customers do that. You know, a few affiliates do that.
And it's really helped us kind of explain, you know, where they're at. Because then we know exactly where they're at in the thought process, right? Let me see here. InstaBuilder.
Okay, cool, cool. All right. So InstaBuilder, I'm going to go over to the InstaBuilder settings. And here, here is, here is all of your, your kind of, what is that, like umbrella settings, like settings that affect the umbrella of, you know, all of your different pages, right?
And so these, you know, these things are going to sound, they're going to sound really, you know, like daunting and like hard to do. But a lot of these things, all you're doing is you're going to click the, click the link here. You're just going to hit yes, yes, yes, yes. And then you're going to get a specific piece of code and then plug it in.
And then you're going to hit yes, yes, yes, yes. And that's, that's essentially all you need to do. And to give you an idea, so to link up the Facebook to that page, what you're going to do is you're actually going to create a Facebook app from your Facebook account. It sounds weird.
It sounds really wacky. But what it does is it, it, the app is what is going to be the host of the comments. Does that make sense? So the app that you create in the Facebook and, and then you plug, you know, plug it in here, you know, that's going to create the comments on that page.
That makes sense. And there's a link directly on that page that says, please, you know, it says, say, it says, please create a Facebook app. Both of the keys will be needed by some IB, blah, blah, blah, blah, you know. And, but essentially you click that link, you create the app, you get these two pieces of information, you plug them in and you're good to go.
And then Discus, if you, who here knows what Discus is? Okay, cool, cool, cool. Nice. So, so essentially what Discus is, is it's just, it's, it's just a commenting system.
You know, some people have Discus accounts and they, you know, and they're able to comment on, you know, product pages, that sort of thing. But, you know, essentially it's just another option to give yourself. If you don't want to do the Facebook, you can do Discus commenting. It's just another option there.
And for all that, all you need is your Discus short name, which is, you know, which is what you're going to get from Discus. And the short name can actually, you know, you can actually pull that once you actually register your Discus account and you get all that set up. So it's just a matter of setting up the Discus account, getting, you know, your short name and then, you know, plugging it in there. GoToWebinar.
If you guys want to integrate GoToWebinar on here, honestly, it is, it is more complicated than, than the other integrations. And GoToWebinar, you know, it is going to help you set up a webinar. And if you do want to go through it, it's, it's really more advanced. So if you, if you're going to go through it, I would definitely, you know, schedule a callback with one of our support members and they can actually help you out through on the phone, you know, if you want to, if you want to link that up.
And the reason that it's just, you know, it's, it's a little more complicated is just because there's a few more working parts. And it actually deals with the product API at GoToWebinar. You can also in, you can also do image search API. These things right here, these are totally optional.
Even the last one was optional, you know, unless you specifically want to do, you know, to link up your webinar to that page. But these image search features are totally optional. Basically, you can just go to the GoToWebinar page and you can just go to the GoToWebinar page and you can just go to the GoToWebinar page and you can just go to the GoToWebinar page and you can just go to the GoToWebinar page. And basically what it is, is what you're going to do is each of these different image search tools you can create an account on.
And on, in your account, you get an API code. You take that API code and you plug it in here. And when you're, you know, looking up images and you're trying to implement images into your, into your InstaBuilder page, then, then it'll actually populate with, you know, pictures and things of that nature. So that way you can, you know, you don't have to like, upload an image every single time.
It'll actually pull from Flickr. It'll pull from Pixabay. Let's see, I think they have one more. Nope.
Yeah. So Flickr and Pixabay are the two that it, that it integrates with. And then you can even, you know, implement and integrate an image editor. Honestly, that's a, that's another more advanced step.
You're better off, you know, editing the, the images beforehand rather than trying to do it like actually in, you know, in the, in the InstaBuilder page by linking up your account. And, and, and what you actually have to link up is an Adobe creative, an account. And what you actually have to create is a developer account. So, you know, that's the, that's one of the main reasons why I say it's a little more advanced.
Just because there's, you know, there's a little more that goes into it. And, and, and, you know, kind of gets a little bit more deeper into, you know, coding and that sort of thing. And honestly, you know, unless you really want to, you know, be able to image, you know, edit your image, you're better off using another tool outside of it. And then to, to round everything off is you can upload new templates.
So, you can have, you know, a zip file. And all you do is you hit choose the file. You, you select the, the InstaBuilder template. You hit upload.
And then it's, it's in your account now as a, as a template for you to choose. And then here, of course, you have the good old save button all the way down at the bottom of the page. Who's ever, who's ever added things at the top of the page and then didn't scroll down and saw the save button and then like exited out? Who did that?
Yeah. I do it all the time. Desmond, my man. What up?
Well, the good news is, is that on this, they actually come with a, we, we actually have a bunch of templates actually already in there. Yeah. So, if you check this out, I mean, these are all templates that are already in there, you know. And so, it really boils down to what do you want to do.
You know, and, and like we, we've got even like really, some really cool ones like, I like launch, like launch pages. You know what I'm saying? They're like, you know, coming soon. You know, have videos and, oh, coming soon pages.
Yeah, yeah. This is what I was talking about here. These are, these are pages. Here, I'll preview one so you guys can check it out.
Coming soon. So, you get, so, I mean, very basic page. But I mean, this requires, you know, a good amount of coding if you don't know how to build your own web page. But if you, you know, if even if you, for instance, have your own website or, or you want to, you know, do your own thing and, you know, you're still working on it, then you should really point it to a page like this.
Because then, you know, if people are looking up and find your domain and click it, you know, and maybe you're not done building your page yet, well, now they have a chance to be like, okay, you know what? Yeah, let me know when this is going to be live because obviously they landed on the page for a reason, right? But yeah, that, yeah. So, so, I mean, there, there's definitely a lot of different templates on there, you know, and, and some of them are more customizable, customizable than, than others.
It really just, you know, if you look on the content and the content looks more bare minimum, it's more customizable. If it kind of looks like it has a lot going on, then, you know, I, and I would not choose those to customize just because they're, they're less of a blank slate. And then you have the issue of, you know, sometimes it can get frustrating, you know, making sure things line up, you know, and all that jazz. So, I would definitely, you know, if you, if you want to go, you know, customizing happiness, you want to go for something that's like, you know, very basic, like something like that, you know, that's, that's a super basic page, you know, thank you for your purchase.
I mean, all it is, is like a thank you page. And I mean, you see how easy that is, you know, click the link below to download, you know, super, super duper easy. So, so, I'm sorry, say that again. Yeah, yeah, I think you can.
Let me, yeah, create from scratch. So, you can, yeah, you can hit create from scratch if you want to go crazy. I usually, I recommend, you know, starting with a template, you know, just because it's a lot easier because it has the form factor and you can kind of see how the page is set up. But if you really want to just make your own thing, then you can, you can definitely, you know, create from scratch.
Yes, sir. Yeah, exactly. Yep. Yeah.
And so, it doesn't matter if, you know, if your, your person has like a really small resolution or really big resolution, it'll all look the same. If, or it won't all look the same, but, you know, it'll condense to match, right? And it'll look congruent to how it's supposed to look when you preview it. One thing to note is that if you do videos in your page, when people, if people land on it from mobile, some mobile phones, you know, have a tougher time loading videos.
So, that's something to watch out for. It'll still, you know, you know, look nice. But when they try to load up the video, I know that my phone sometimes can kind of freeze up, kind of lag a little bit. So, it's just something to think about, you know, even though the, the page itself is mobile friendly, the video and, and kind of the, the specific elements may not be right.
You in the back? No, you should be able to edit it. If you can't edit it, go ahead and shoot support in email. Every once in a while, you know, there's a bug, bug in the system and, you know, we love squashing bugs.
So, if you send us, if you send us the, you know, the issue that's happening, what we do is we actually look into the HTML code as that, you know, that button that allows you to edit it. And then we actually send it on over to the programmers and they can go ahead and look at it and they can be like, okay, you know what, I see that you tried to edit it. It didn't save anything. There's something wrong here.
Let's figure out what's going on. Maybe it's not talking to the database or, you know, the, the parameters or whatever craziness that they get into. I tried to, tried to learn code, code once. I got through HTML, CSS and I started JavaScript.
Oh, man, JavaScript is rough. Yes, yeah, you certainly can. Yeah, so, starting from a blank slate, it's a little bit easier to see. But essentially, you know, this is all I have to my page.
And so, all I, all I need, would need to do is just select that, that, you know, most, most in the rear, most in the back, you know, against the, does that make sense? Most in the back as in like the, you know, yeah, the layers. Like, so, you have the video and it's nested, you know, in the, in the green box. But then behind that is your actual background of the web page.
Does that make sense? Well, it most likely won't. You'll have to, you'll have to look at the, you know, you'll have to basically, it, it's, it's, it's tricky because, it's tricky to find the right size requirements in the, in the, in the dimensions, you know, for your background. Because the background changes within the browser.
If that person has it full screen, they're going to be able to see more of it. If they, you know, have it, you know, not as full screen, it might condense. So, it gets a little tricky, when, you know, coming up with a specific, you know, you know dimensions for your background does that make sense I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for that one I'm sorry say it again yeah yeah for sure yeah yeah yeah so so basically like to give you an idea I'm going to click on this page here and I'm going to go ahead and so I don't have an image to use but I'm just going to do you know I'm just going to do black and you know let's pretend you know this this black image here you know that's an actual image that I uploaded right well you know in this case you know I can add another section and you'll see that the image is still you know behind it and it's going to remain behind it no matter what other things I add so I can add you know buttons and and all this craziness but you'll see that the image because it's the first thing that you edited and it's all the way in the back you know it it you know you don't need to you know I'm saying it's gonna stay you know congruent across the whole entire web page does that make sense cool oh really that's weird yeah yeah the one way to one way to minimize that would be in the image settings like in the settings let me see if I can pull it up real quick yeah so background image if you if you do stretch that should eliminate that if it doesn't let us know because it should you know it really should because what it's supposed to do is supposed to stretch it you know to the whole entire background right exactly you would adjust depending on the skies on the size of the screen that the member is using cool sweet oh you're talking about like Facebook gets angry because you're sharing links and stuff like that yeah I mean you know honestly Facebook so here's the challenge with with Facebook is that you know we all use very similar links when we're marketing and so Facebook thinks you know hey somebody made you know tens of thousands of bots and is all spamming you know the whole world with you know the the secret shortcut to a thousand bucks right and and so honestly the best way to minimize that is to use your own domain you know use link shorteners like bitly have you guys ever heard of bitly bit ly it's very simple and that's the that's the web page and all you do is you go there you put in the URL that you want to you know you want to bitly shorten and then it spits out a bitly link and a bit ly link is just a random string of numbers at the end of bit ly and all it does is when people click on that link it brings them back to whatever URL you put in in the beginning does that make sense yes it's the same feature as the plug-in link and link if I link in Phi actually does tracking so if you want to track I would definitely use the plug-in link if I yeah I would definitely highly recommend using link if I using bitly just using something so that way you're not sending out the same link as everyone else because all that happens is that facebook sees the same domain going out a million times and then you know they get they get angry over there and Facebook world yeah yeah then you then we end up getting blocked and chad and that sort of thing and you know nobody wants that we want to be able to send out links flirt freely you know free the links so so I know I didn't get the cover you know every single might you know spins quick videos my ones value 20%ر but did I give you guys enough knowledge to actually go in there have a good idea of what you're using and be able to play around and figure the rest out awesome cool so I'm gonna go ahead and finish off with this last question and then I will introduce the next speaker my friend yes yes you can you can split test I I want to say it's as many pages as you want but let me you know let's let's let's make sure real quick let's get up to like maybe like five and then let's call it a day you know like five is a lot yeah right so yeah I mean from what I understand like you can keep going like through the whole alphabet in the in the variations and if you need more than 28 variations man like you're doing some serious work man putting in that hustle bro but but yeah so you see that that I now actually have variations a B C D and e so you can make as many variations as you want and it'll all work the same split test settings it just populates with the extra you know the extra percentages there and you'll notice that you know you will have to set these manually when you go in there and you have more than two you know variations because right now they just start out you know at both at 50 and 50 percent right so you have to go in there and set that manually but you can have some you know if you want to do it more as many variations as you want.
Cool? Sweet. Alright, one more. Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, I can do that. Yeah, yeah, I can totally do that. And then I'll introduce our next speaker. I have way too many.
This is what happens every single time that I get on anybody's blog, on my blog, is I have way too many tabs open. I don't know how it happens. Just like tabs appear like, pretty sure I brought up that halfway. Anyway.
Okay, so Content Blaster in a nutshell is going to help you create content. Pop under pop-up is going to give you pop-ups on your blog so you can actually collect leads. So who's here been on a website that's like, don't leave, opt in for my free email report. Who's been in weird, those sorts of things?
Who's been in weird, those sorts of things? Who's been in weird, those sorts of things? Who's been in weird, those sorts of websites? For some reason, news websites are doing that a lot to me.
Like, I'll go on there and I'll check out an article and it'll get me to like subscribe, you know? Editorial calendar. What this is going to allow you to do is just, you know, plan out your posts. So that way you can get a good snapshot of, you know, how you've been doing, how you've been, you know, posting every single day and when your posts are going out.
Let me go back. Testimonials, pretty straightforward. This is where you can actually import testimonials and have them on your, available for you on your blog site. Slipstream here.
Slipstream's hard to, it's hard to, it's hard to explain, really. Yeah, there is tutorials on all of these. Honestly, what I recommend is diving in the tutorial of every single, you know, of each one as you go through it, though. Don't watch all the tutorials and then, like, try to do, you know, every single plug-in.
Let me see here. Because I do need to finish out here. And then, obviously, we have, you know, InstaBuilder, which, you know, I'm a little biased because I've been up here talking about it for a while, but InstaBuilder is definitely one of my favorite ones, especially knowing what goes into actually building a web page. So, you know, anything with a premium on it, you know, only premium members get.
Also, what premium members get is going to be, you know, like, you know, like, you know, like, you know, like, you know, like, you know, like, you know, like, you know, like, you know, like, you know, like, they also get the media hosting included. Also, you know, they have the InstaBuilder tutorials, they have the premium tutorials. So, they have extra tutorials for the extra features that they have. And then, I believe that they also get access to the Q&A replays.
That's a premium feature. And so, what actually happens is we actually have webinars where we have Q&A. And so, you can go on there, you can ask your question, get your question answered, and then we upload it back here for you. You know, as a premium member, you get access to the Q&A replays.
You get access to that. Cool. So, does that kind of cover a few things? Cool.
Sweet. Awesome. Cool. Well, I want to thank you guys so much.
It's been such a pleasure talking about InstaBuilder. It's been intense. I want to thank you guys so much for, you know, having the student mentality and really, you know, listening to what I say and really, you know, looking at, you know, all the different things and the craziness we got going on here. Because these are all tools for you guys to really help your business.
Right? So, the next person I want to bring up, she is a super cool friend. She's always been there for me. And she is known as the queen of blogging.
So, I think you guys already know who I'm talking about. Please give a roaring round of applause for Michelle.

So, what I wanted to kind of dive into today is the InstaBuilder, right? And the reason I want to dive into that specifically is because we actually sent out a survey in the event group and the most underutilized plugin was actually InstaBuilder. So definitely want to dive into that, teach you guys how customizable it is, and then that way you guys can apply it to your own business and hopefully become even more successful. Cool? I'm good now?
Alright, sweet, sweet, sweet. Okay, cool. So, just going to go ahead and dive right in. And if you guys don't know how to get to this area, essentially all you do is you log in through your back office, go to your My Products, Kalatu blogging system. You click on the Kalatu blogging system, it's going to bring you to your dashboard.
I just want to make sure that every step of the way I'm explaining everything extremely clearly so you guys know exactly what steps I'm taking to get where, to do what, and all that fun stuff. And that way, you can take the notes from this workshop and share them with your team members if they have issues, that sort of thing, right? Cool. So InstaBuilder 2.0, very powerful tool.
Here we have kind of the stats, if you scroll down a little bit. So this is the page that you land on as soon as you... let me see if I can minimize this.
Correct. So I'll reiterate it so that way it's recorded, you know, because this is going to be built, recorded, and thrown into the dashboard. What he said was that a unique visitor is somebody who actually sees that page for the first time.
Whereas visits could be the same person visiting 10, 20, 30 times, you know? And really what you're trying to look for is unique visitors, right? Because a lot of times, maybe the first time somebody lands on your page, they're probably most likely to buy because it's brand new, their curiosity is peaked. But if they see a page a few times over, then maybe they already opted in, or maybe they already decided this wasn't for them. A decision has already been made in most cases, right?
So scrolling down here, what's super amazing and interesting as well is you also have your visitors chart for the last two weeks. So this is going to give you your last two weeks, and if you've had a spike in visitors, you'll be able to really track the page you built, and the type of traffic that you're getting on that page. And what's amazing about getting the two-week snapshot that you see here is you can see trends. So if, for instance, you make a page on InstaBuilder here, and you send out that same link every single day for a week, let's just call it a week, well, you'll be able to see, okay, you know what?
I sent out my link on Saturday, and on Saturday, I noticed that I got, you know, 30 more unique clicks, 20 more unique clicks than I usually do. So you can really hone in and use this as a tool to really bring the science to marketing and say, okay, on these days from this source, I really have a lot of success. So that's an extremely useful graph there. Let me scroll down here, and now we actually get into the fun stuff.
The fun stuff is the buttons that actually do things. And the three main kind of functions of InstaBuilder: there's three different facets here, and that's new page, new group, and import. The biggest kind of section that we're going to cover today is going to be the new page. New group helps you keep your pages organized. And import: actually there are people out there that actually build InstaBuilder templates, and what they can do is they can actually take the InstaBuilder template and export it from their application, and then they can sell it online or share it with other people, that sort of thing. And then if you get a hold of that file, you hit import, you select that file on your computer, and you'll actually import that template. So it's super useful if you have a team member that's like, "I don't even know how to get started with this." We'll go over how to help them import something so that way it's more plug-and-play for them, right? Sounds good so far? Cool. All right, let me know if I'm going too fast or if I'm going too slow, that sort of thing, right?
Cool. So I'm going to go ahead, and what we're going to talk about next: I'm going to save the best for last, the new page, and I'm going to hop into the new group just to show you guys how that function works. So essentially, here's what you got: here's my actual page group. I'm going to click on this, and I have the page groups, and I just found that by scrolling down past the actual action buttons — I'm going to call them action buttons — and here you have the page groups. So you see here that I've already created a test group, a group named test, and it's got one page in there, and I have a different number of actions here. So, very simple: the little file button actually opens up that group and shows you what pages you have in there, as well as the different functions that you get when you're looking to edit the page and maybe the global settings of that page — and we'll dive into that once we're actually creating a page. But for right now I just want to show you guys how the group settings work. So once I actually hit that little folder button — I'm going to head back, scroll down, and I'm just going to do it one more time for you guys so that way it's imprinted in your brain, and you see all these logos and they really make sense when you're actually clicking through the system — I click the view group button, which is that little folder, and then I go ahead and scroll back up, and it's going to bring me to all my pages that are in that folder. And then from here you can delete pages, you can add pages to that group. It's really up to you at that point, because the main tool with this is that it needs to keep you organized when you're building all these lead capture pages, because maybe some people only do one or two pages and they don't really need to keep track of any groups, or they're only focused on maybe one niche or one product. But when you deal with groups it's very important to keep everything organized, so that way you know, okay, I have all of my free ebook capture pages in the free ebook folder, right? I have all of my webinar pages in the webinar group, right? So that's that feature. It's pretty simple to use. I'll go ahead and create another group just so I can show you guys how that process is. I mean, it's very simple: I just hit new group, this green button right here, enter in — typing with one hand here, that's a skill right there, right — and then hit create group, and I put a little smiley face there too. I use a lot of smiley faces; if any of you guys have dealt with me through email, I smiley face the crap out of my emails. I hope it doesn't make anybody feel uncomfortable here, but there you see it, test two — it's right there. I can see how many pages I have in there, I can mess with the settings, I can duplicate it, I can delete it, I can check it out — I don't have any landing pages in there. And that's really that very simple function, and that is your new group function on there. When you hit the new action button, it's going to do the same thing; I just hit the button that was a little bit lower in the group area.
So up next I have the most fun that I've been dying to get into, and that is the new page button. So this new page button is really what InstaBuilder 2.0 is all about, because what that button allows you to do is create a brand new page: you pick a template, and you can even customize that template very much so. I mean, it's just going to blow your mind about the things that you can do. So let's just go ahead and hop into it. So when I hit that button — let me zoom out here a little bit. All right, cool. So when I clicked on that button, this pop-up came up, and these are different templates that are already created in InstaBuilder, and now it's my turn to actually pick the one I want. And what's amazing about this is that we actually implemented — we have so many templates that we actually added categories, so right away you can look at sales pages, squeeze pages, launch pages, webinar pages, coming soon pages, and then others, and it's going to be organized for you guys, and it's going to allow you to do so many more things with your business. You know how many people in here have wanted to put on a webinar but couldn't figure out how to make sure that people actually go on your webinar and you have leads for the webinar and all that jazz? Raise your hand. Perfect.
Okay, perfect. So this is perfect for you guys. So here's what we'll do: I'm just going to stick with the sales page, and we're just going to go ahead and jump into — which one looks good? Let's do this one. I'm going to do the first one.
And so I'm going to choose this. It's going to open up in a new tab. It's going to populate everything. And then boom, there it is. That's the page.
And essentially it's ready to go. Obviously I'm not going to be selling a fancy headline or anything, I don't want to change that, but all of the elements are there. They're fully customizable, and I'm just going to go ahead and kind of click around and show you guys what each of the different functions do and how you can kind of customize it and edit it to your liking. Okay, cool.
Cool. So there's a lot on this page. Forgive me if it seems like I'm jumping around a little bit. I want to keep everything as organized as possible, but there's just so much on this page that you might see me be like, okay, you know what, let's head over here now because it makes more sense to go here now.
And then we'll head back over there and all that stuff, right? It's going to be fun, guys. It's going to be awesome. Cool.
So the first thing that I want to start with is going to be your settings in the top right corner. The top right corner — I don't know if you guys, yeah, you guys should be able to see those. They're kind of grayed out. The first two buttons there are undo and redo.
You know, we've all been in Microsoft Word and we accidentally deleted something, or deleted the whole document, or replaced it with cats because you're trying to do a Google search for cats and the word document popped up or whatever. And so this is awesome, that you can actually go in and hit undo, and undo any mistakes that you made. Or if you try to format something and you're like, ah, it just doesn't look good, right, and you can even redo, which is really awesome.
Definitely, definitely extremely user friendly. A lot of builders may not build that just because it's not an imperative thing for an application to have, but it's just so much more useful when you can just hit undo. I know I always hit undo when I'm writing emails and that sort of thing. So the next button that you see up there is going to be the preview page button, and that is going to be a little eyeball.
When you hover over it, it says preview page, and that is exactly what it does. It gives you a preview of the live page. And so super useful, as you're making changes, maybe you don't want to see how the video's not really — it's just a placeholder right now — and you have this toolbar here that's used for editing, and maybe you want to see what it looks like without that.
But that's something that you can do — you can do it without that. So this is what your prospects are going to see. This is what people, if you send them to this page, this is what they'll see. And then up next we have a settings icon, the little cog.
And within that settings icon, we have just an amazing amount of different options and different things that we can actually jump into. I'm going to go ahead and jump into those after I finish with that top bar, so that way you guys can understand everything on the top bar, then we'll kind of hit each setting individually, so that way you guys know exactly what each thing does, right? Cool.
So that is going to give you a brief description of what that button is going to give you access to — it's going to give you access to a bunch of general settings for that specific page. All right, and then up next you have the infamous save button. And then, of course, you've got publish, right, so that will hopefully take you to some of the data sets. Then all the way over to the right, we have this little drop-down menu, and it's the tiniest arrow in the world, and it's almost like you can miss it, and it's definitely got some interesting features.
You've got the export function, which is what I was saying earlier: if you have team members that are having trouble setting up their own InstaBuilder page and you're like, oh dude, I've got a 30% converting InstaBuilder page, why don't you try out my template? And then you can export it, and then all they have to do is import it, and then obviously plug in their own Get Response and their AWeber and all that fun stuff that we have to do. And so that's actually the menu that you would actually export it from.
Here you can also publish to Facebook. You can save it as the template, and you can even exit from there. So it's kind of like if you're not looking to publish it right away, but you still want to take it and do something else with it — that's what I would use that drop-down menu for.
And then coming on over to the left side here, here's where you can actually change your permalink. And so what a permalink is, is where the page is nested on your domain. So, how many people have custom domains here?
Perfect. Okay, sweet, sweet, sweet. So as you know, when you make a blog post, your URL is going to be ZacharyForsch.com slash the blog post name. Well, this one, this is where you can actually change what happens after that slash. So you can make that, after that slash, InstaBuilder page one, whatever you want to call it.
But just know that when you send out that link, people are going to read what that says. So if I made it, for instance, here, instead of it being buildingabrandonline.com forward slash the support blog, forward slash, InstaBuilder test one, it would be — you know, thesupportblog.com, if that was my domain name — slash InstaBuilder test one. Does that make sense to everybody? It's a little tricky explaining permalinks. Okay, cool.
All right, perfect. So this next button is super duper useful, super duper. This is for split testing. This is for getting down to the nitty gritty of marketing, where you're actually testing out a few different things, trying to figure out what works for you and your brand and your niche.
So here's what you're going to do. Up here you have variation — you can see that it's selected on variation A, right? Well, here's what I can actually do: I can actually create a new variation, and I can also mess with my split test settings, which I'm going to get into after I create a new variation. So I'm going to go ahead and create a new variation.
And it's going to give you a few different options here. You can duplicate — just duplicate the current variation and then add your finishing touches that you want to make to separate it from the original template — or you can use a new template, or you can just create one from scratch. For the purpose of this training, I'm just going to go ahead and duplicate the current variation. I almost said that and then clicked something else.
And then it's going to do its thing. And now, as you guys can see, I'm on variation B. Now, what's so amazing about this is, it basically just copy and pasted the whole entire page that I just built. But what's even cooler than that is I can go here and I can go to split test settings.
And this is where it's really going to come in, right over here, guys. This is where you can actually set your traffic weight. So what this means here: variation A and variation B both get 50% of the total traffic. So what that means is, if you have 100 people go to that link, that permalink that you set, 50 of them are going to land on variation A.
50 of them are going to land on variation B. And what's amazing is you can fluctuate those numbers if you want to test things more rigorously, or if you're having a lot more success with variation B and you're only, like, day one into your ad campaign, then you can start pushing over even more traffic to variation B. So super duper easy.
Super useful. Super — just when you're trying to get scientific with your marketing, this right here is really going to help. Cool? Sweet. Yeah, sure.
No, no. Yeah, yeah. So I'll hop into the change permalink a little bit more so that everybody understands it. So if you have your own domain — the pages, everything that we build within Empower Network — when you guys actually sign up for Kalatu, we only integrate with your domain.
We don't actually change any of the settings on your domain, right? We don't actually go in there and set up the CNAME settings. Those are all things that you have to do manually yourself. So when we go, for instance, on this InstaBuilder page and we change the permalink, all we're doing is changing what actually happens after that slash. So, if your domain is...
ZacharyForsch.com, the only thing that this permalink is going to change is what comes after that final slash, that forward slash, right? So it would be ZacharyForsch.com forward slash, blah, blah, blah, InstaBuilder page, .html, or whatever the ending is. So, let me think of a good way to explain this. Does that kind of help or not really? Hmm?
Yeah, correct. Yeah, yeah. So it'll appear with your custom domain and then forward slash whatever your permalink is. And how that actually works — it's a little complicated, but I'll do it very, very simple.
Yeah, I like explaining stuff like this, though. If you have a domain, everything that comes after the slash, that's essentially like another file or folder, another piece to your web page puzzle, right? And so when you add the permalink on the end there, what you're doing is you're just adding to the content of that domain. You're not creating, like, a new domain or a subdomain that's nested under the main domain.
You're just adding more content to it. Does that make sense? Cool, cool. All right, perfect. So, sweet, sweet.
Well, in this case, for those of you that didn't hear it, he asked me how I can differentiate between A and B. And essentially, obviously in this particular scenario I haven't made any changes between the two of them, but normally what you would want to do from a marketing perspective is you'd get your variation A down, and maybe you have a really good idea that you want to test out, so you get your variation B down. And maybe variation B, the only thing that's different is your background is orange, or your background is white, or instead of saying "your fancy headline here" you say "want to buy my product," or whatever. So those are changes that...
You implement yourself, and those are things that, if you think of a good idea and you want to split test that, that's the whole point of the variation tool. So you can make, maybe, small details, or even big details.
You can change out the whole entire page, and you can split test both of them. Does that make sense? Cool, cool, cool. All right, all right, cool.
So, I am going to get into kind of the biggest piece of the puzzle right here, which is going to be — I'm going to call it the editing sidebar. Now, this editing sidebar, the way it works, is it actually infuses the HTML into — what's the word I'm looking for?
It injects it. It injects the HTML into the page. So, for instance, if I want to add a video element, I just drag and drop a video element, and it actually nests the HTML where it needs to be for it to appear there. Now, obviously, I don't want a video down there.
But I just wanted to show you what it would look like. And so there's a wide variety of options. A good amount of them are self-explanatory, and some of them take a little more, a few more steps to actually set up.
So I'm just going to kind of go through them all, so that way you guys can see them all, and see what effect they have on your page. And that way when you guys check it out later.
And you guys are walking through this, you can be like, okay, I remember when Zach put that in there — it goofed up all the headlines and everything — or, that's how you implement a video, that sort of thing, right?
So this first — these first three up here are actually just going to be little sections. So you have the regular section, the wide section, and then the wide background box, which is obviously going to give you a background. But essentially, in these individual sections, you're going to actually unlock a multitude of different customization options. Now, you guys understand, this is super complex here.
Let's see here. So for that HTML element that I just put in, I just put in the section HTML element, which is that up there. And then what I did was — here, let me hide this panel.
Let me click on it again. And then what I did was, I noticed that it took up that space right there. So I clicked on it. And that way I can see exactly where it's at.
What it's affecting, how it's affecting the page, and I can kind of play around with it, right, and manipulate it. So when you implement these elements into your page,
and when it injects the code, what it's going to allow you to do is it's going to allow you to change the attributes for all those different HTML elements. So for instance, for this HTML element,
what it is — all it is — is that it's a giant section, giant blank section. If I wanted to create space, right,
so what I do is I look at it. I can zoom in, I can unzoom, I can copy it.
I can delete it. But most importantly, I can change the settings. And what the settings change is, like I just said, the attributes of that section.
That is not what I wanted to click on. I clicked on Wirecast. Cool, cool. All right, but anyway.
So here are the section settings. As you can see here, in the section settings, you can literally change almost any attribute that you want for this HTML element.
Margin and padding. Let me take one second — I'm going to look up a real quick infographic that explains the difference between the two.
Because it's just a lot easier to see visually the difference between a margin and padding. You guys good with me on that? Cool, cool, cool. All right.
So this is the infographic — super-duper useful when looking at HTML elements. You have the margin, and then you also have the padding. So the margin is going to be how much space there is from the edges of the screen.
So if you look at this — this right here, this black line, as the edge of the screen — then all this gray space here is all the padding. Or, I'm sorry, not the padding — ignore that — the margin.
Thank you. It's going to be the margin. And so, if you have too big of margins on the sides, then it's going to seem all squished. If you have too much margin from the bottom and the top, it's going to be cramped horizontally, right?
So these are all attributes that can actually be changed in InstaBuilder 2.0. And so you can actually change the amount of margin and the amount of padding, and every single HTML element has every single side: top margin, bottom margin, top padding, bottom padding, left padding, right padding. And the padding is what's going to separate your content, like on this page — your padding is going to separate your content from the border.
So you want a good amount of padding just so that way it doesn't look like whatever you write in that section is touching the border. If you decide to use a dotted border or a lined border, it'll all kind of run together and you definitely don't want that. So something to note is that margins and padding are all dealt with in pixels. And so it can be kind of hard to gauge how much padding and what type of margins you need, that sort of thing. In most cases, because there's already templates made, you really won't have to mess with the margin so much as the padding.
The padding is really going to be key to making your content stand out and have the right amount of spacing. Because have you ever gone on a website and maybe the text in the middle of the button, you want it a little bit to the right or a little bit to the left, and it just doesn't look right, right? So this is where they actually set those numbers on those pages. So you can see, by default, it has 15 pixels of top padding, 15 pixels of bottom padding, 25 pixels of left padding, 25 pixels of right padding. And honestly, most of the time you're probably not going to want to mess with those.
Because those are very comfortable numbers. It's definitely not going to be a problem. It's definitely not too long, and it's definitely not too short. So honestly I wouldn't touch these things, but I did want to explain everything to you in case you got into a position where you're like, okay, this isn't lining up correctly, I know from what Zach said earlier that my padding is off.
So I'm going to go ahead and remove more left padding so that way it lines up more correctly. So that's margin and padding. Background color is very important. It's very simple — all you're doing is setting the background color.
I'm going to go ahead and do that so that way you guys can see the effect it has. So let me see here. And there's a few other options on there, like the glossy effect and the transparent background color — maybe you have an image in your background and you want that to show through, but maybe through a transparent red lens or anything like that. So background color, pretty simple.
Background image — it's the same thing. You're going to be able to upload an image, and it's going to be the background of that HTML element. In this case, this HTML element that I'm editing is still the section.
I'm still in the section. I'm just looking at the settings for that particular section. So you'll notice some extra options here: background image style, image position, image attachment, and then you also have the actual URL that you put in there for the background image. It's a little bit different than uploading your image.
You can use a URL if you want, but a lot of times it's just easier to upload from your computer. So that's just what I would do — if you have the image that you want on your computer, I would just upload it from there. And then also these options are extremely useful as well, depending on the type of look that you want. You can tile them.
You can stretch it. What stretch does, if anybody isn't aware, is it actually takes that image and stretches it for the entire length of whatever HTML element that you uploaded that background image to. Yeah. Cool.
So let's see here. You also have the scroll or the fix. If you do scroll, I'm sure you guys have been on websites where the images and the elements kind of scroll with you. Okay, you still see the image kind of scroll with you and keep up with your screen.
That's what that scroll feature is. So I'm just going to go ahead and look at — so now we have borders. Borders, again, I'm going to go back to this useful infographic here. Borders is just going to be around the content.
And without padding, it's actually going to frame your content without much margin around it. So let's see here — yeah, so essentially, if you guys don't touch the padding, you guys will be good to go, you won't have to worry about it. But if you guys wanted a border to kind of frame your content that you put in that HTML element, then these are the settings that you'd actually use for it.
And this is where you can actually set if you want solid, dashed, dotted, double line. You also have the thickness — you can mess with the thickness. You can make it a really thick border if you really want it to stand out.
If you just want it to kind of lightly outline the area, you just keep it not as thick. And again, if you notice, all of it is in pixels. The reason that they do the pixels is because it actually depends on the user's screen. Instead of saying, hey, I want it like two inches from the left — well, then whenever it loads that web page, it's always going to put it two inches from the left. And so when it's pixels, it's going to conform to that user's resolution.
And some people have really big monitors — maybe they use their TV, and they have really big screens. And some people have much smaller screens, right? So it's extremely useful. Rounded corners, opacity, and shape.
Shadow, display delay — if you want to add a delay to when that HTML element appears, then you can do that here. You just select it on, and then you can just delay it as long as you want. And essentially what will happen is after that delay passes, that HTML element will then appear on that page. So for instance, if you have a video and you don't want the Buy Now button to appear, what you'll do is you can...
And I'll show you guys on the other buttons how to make that button appear. But for right now, just talking about the section, what would happen is I would set it for a minute, and then after a minute passed, this section would actually populate. So, not very useful in this context because it's just a section, but once you guys see what the other HTML elements are, then you'll be able to be like, okay, I can edit all of that we talked about, but with a button it becomes a lot more useful, or a link, or a video.
It becomes a lot more useful and a lot more versatile. Let's see here — and then you also have the effect. What's up? Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I can definitely do that. Yeah. Yeah, what I'll do is I'll actually input a different HTML element.
Let's see what we got here. We got an image element, we got a video element, countdown, button, opt-in form. Let's do address.
Let's do a title element. Let's put a title up there. Let me see here. Whoa! Can I do it on there?
Wow! That's cool! OK. Cool. I'm always learning new things with some of these applications.
I think I've learned like every facet of it, and then something else pops up, so I could be like, you know. So what I actually did there is I went over to the title element and I dragged it over where the video is, and that way I can add a title to the top of the video. So let me get rid of this guy because I don't want him — I already have one of them here. And then, so what I'm gonna do is I'm just gonna edit, for example — I'm sorry, say that again — oh, yeah, for sure. Yeah, so, to give you an idea here: so here's what I'm gonna do — I'm gonna delete all the things that I've done on this page so that way it's just a normal page, as if you just selected that template. And then what you're gonna do over here — these are all elements that you can actually inject into the page. So what I did is I just took the title element and I just went and stuck it somewhere, like right here, and then now that element actually appears right there. And what I can do from there, because I want to edit it, is I just go ahead and double click on it — so I can click once and I get a bunch of settings, and I can click again to edit the text, and I can copy it, and I can delete it — but I can just edit the text, and what I'll do is I can say "buy this now," and for the sake of this, that is what I'm going to do, and I'm gonna make it white so it stands out. And then that is now good to go on that page, right? So if I hit publish right now, it'll build me a page with everything in that "buy this now" section, available. So what I can then do, just like how I was going over all of the different attributes each element has, is I can actually go to the settings button for that title element, and then from there I can actually mess with the settings — as far as adding text shadow color, text shadow blur, display animation — any of those settings that I want to mess with and add, that's where you would actually do that. And every single one of these elements has their own attributes that you can then edit, right?
Yes, so it gets very in-depth. It can seem very overwhelming, but here's my advice to you guys: don't worry about the individual attributes for the individual parts of your page. So, for instance, I'm not gonna worry about how to make that appear and whether or not it should have shadows and stuff like that. What I'm gonna worry about is the content that's in that box, and above that box, and what colors it is — very simple stuff, because as long as everything looks congruent, that's what you want, right? You don't really need a bunch of flashy "here comes an image from the dark side of the force" or whatever, right? And so really, these extra attributes are only there if you really want to use them, but honestly, most of the time you really don't need to even mess with them. What you're gonna mostly mess with is injecting all of these different elements onto your page depending on what you want to change. So, for instance, I'm gonna go ahead and really change up this page for you guys, so you guys can kinda see how it works and how it flows. So I'm gonna delete that video — delete, please, thank you — and then I feel like adding a countdown there.
So I added a countdown there. I have a few different options here. I'm probably gonna go to the settings, and I'm gonna configure the — oh wow, check all this out, that's cool, okay cool. It's pretty awesome, man, there's a lot with it, you know, there's a lot with it. So, no, this is perfect, I can explain this now, because who wants to use a countdown timer on their page, right? Okay, good, a good amount of you. So you can have an exact date and time, which would be useful for registering for a webcast, or for a live event, or even if you have a promotion that's going to end at a certain time, so you can actually set the exact time and date, and you can actually set it using this scheduling widget, and then the actual hour — it's a 24-hour format — and the minutes there, and then you can also change the time zone. So a lot of things that can be customized here, and that's for the exact date and time. Evergreen — okay, cool. Evergreen, from what I understand, evergreen is going to — what's that mean — is that whenever somebody lands on your page, it's gonna start that countdown timer whenever they land on that page. Now, if you do cookie-based, you're gonna want to do cookie-based over evergreen. First of all, because it sounds delicious — I almost said "cookie paste," I'm like getting hungry or something, man — you're gonna want to do cookie-based over evergreen, and what cookie-based means is: when somebody visits this site and they see this countdown timer, what's gonna happen is this page is gonna put a cookie in their computer, so that the next time that they actually go through and come back and look at the page, the timer is gonna pick off exactly where they left off. And so the remaining time — let's say it's two hours and the person waits an hour on that page and then leaves — if they came back and it was evergreen, then it's gonna restart at the two hours. If it's cookie-based, then it's gonna say, "you know what, this person's been here before, he's waited an hour, he only has an hour left to wait on the countdown timer." Does that make sense, everybody? Cool, perfect. All right, so that, for example, is the countdown element.
Of course you have the button element, which is the classic click-here. And even the button element that I just put in there — did you guys see how I put that in there? You want me to do that again? Do it again. Okay, perfect, let me — okay, cool, let me delete — you, there we go. All right, so what I did was I found the button element on this guy right here, and then all you're gonna do with this is it's all drag and drop, so I'm just gonna go ahead and click down on the mouse and then drag it where I want it to go, and you can see the different places that are popping up — they're like, okay, it could fit here, it could fit here, in this area, in this column, that sort of thing. And so, let's put it — let's put it, like, right under this button, or — probably, yeah, let's go with above it — and there's the button, and it appears there. And that's how every single one of these things worked — you've got the tab content, you have video, you have images, I mean, you have everything, today's date — it's all gonna be drag-and-drop, so it's very intuitive. So I can just fill this up with a bunch of different things — who got the opt-in form, I've got a social share, what else do I want there, let's do — oh, let's do comments, are big — let's throw some comments there, what, can I nest them? Cool, perfect. Okay, cool, so now I've added a whole bunch of different HTML elements, and you guys saw how I was doing that, right, by just dragging a bunch of stuff over. So it's, you know, this page obviously wouldn't really work if you wanted to use it and all that — it'd be a little confusing, somebody would land on it and be like, what's going on, somebody's got a jumble of stuff here — there's two buttons, there's two buttons, so yeah, there's three, right — there's a subscribe, there's a subscribe, there's click here, and there's get started — so it's telling me to click here, but then it's also telling me to get something done.
Started and subscribe — it's very confusing, I would be scared if I landed on this page, between you and me and you guys. But I'll kind of hop into some of the HTML elements that take a little bit more know-how in order to customize them and get them all set up and running correctly. So with the image one, it's going to be pretty simple, so I'm not really going to dive into that one too much.
You just go ahead and upload an image. It's going to have basically the same settings — the margin is going to be there, animation, that sort of thing. So that's a really quick overview for that one. The share settings — I'm going to stay on this page, and then I'm going to hit the settings for that.
And then here is where you can actually select if you want Facebook only, if you want Twitter, you want LinkedIn, you want Google Plus. And you can even set a custom URL to be shared whenever somebody clicks that link. So if you want them to share your blog, you can actually add that in there, and it'll appear as a button down there to share, as a share counter. Does that make sense?
Cool, perfect. And so, let me see. And so what I'll talk a little bit more about is how to set up the Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google Plus, because this all pulls from your Kalatu account, so you don't have to mess with a bunch of API stuff upside down and left side up, you know.
Sure, no, no. If you guys didn't hear the question, what he was asking is: if you had a video and if the video ended, could you just have another video pick right back off, right? Yeah. Oh, you wanted to pick up where it left off.
Yeah, unfortunately that would depend. So here's what he's asking: he's asking if someone is going to pick up where it left off — if you have a three-minute video, somebody watches a minute, then leaves and comes back — he's wondering if we're able to start it off where that person left off. And honestly, that mostly depends on the media hosting and their capabilities, not so much the HTML elements and things on the page.
Because when somebody lands on a page and they start watching the video, they're actually just downloading the video from the media hosting site — that's essentially what's happening. And so it would have to be something on the media hosting side where they give that person a cookie, or track that IP, or something along those lines that allows them to be like, okay, this person sat for one minute through my video, now I'm going to pick off at two minutes, whatever it is, right? So does that answer your question, sir?
Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, cool. Let's see here. Yeah, if you do use Empower Hosting, you can loop it.
Miguel, my friend. Oh, the button text? Yeah, yeah, I can actually hop into that now. So he's actually wondering if we can actually change the text that's on the buttons here. And you certainly can.
And so what you do is you just click on the button, you just hit that little settings button there — a lot of attributes that you can change for that button. You can change the text, you can change the style, the hover colors, so you can make it pretty obvious that when somebody's hovering over it — I mean, there's a lot of things that you can change here.
So you can just go to town, definitely play with it. Cool. So let me scroll down and let me look at the comments. So next I'm going to look at the comments, and then I'm going to go ahead and hop into the global settings.
The global settings are fairly simple, but I did want to save them for last, just so that way you guys understand everything that you can do with it, and then how the settings would affect everything that you have on this page. Right, so I'm going to follow up here with the comment box. And this is an HTML element that I actually dragged and dropped.
Let me see which one it is. Which one is it? Comment — there. So it looks like a little messaging icon, and I just grabbed it and put it somewhere.
The yellow means it's going to be able to be put in there. The blue means it can't be put there. So you see how it lights up blue and then it lights up yellow — well, the yellow I can do, the blue with the dotted line, it won't let me actually put that feature there. So I'm just going to go ahead and remove that because we already have two comment boxes on here.
So comment box — I just put it on there. I'm going to go ahead and hit settings. What this is going to allow you to do is change the comment system. We have two different comment systems, Facebook and Discus. And I'll show you guys exactly how everything links up on that page in the final page that I said I was going to go over, which is the global settings.
But for now, you guys understand that when you guys do comments, you can either do Facebook or Discus. Sounds good. Yeah. Yeah. Here, I'll look at that.
So here's something also you can do — you can actually do an opt-in form, which is what I had there already, and that's going to link up to your Get Response account and that sort of thing. As far as a contact-me form, this is probably the closest that you'll be able to get, just because a lot of times with contact forms there may be phone numbers and that sort of thing, and it has to have certain protocols to pass along that information.
But when you use this subscribe — I'm sorry, what is it — opt-in box, it's going to be linked up to your autoresponder, and your autoresponder, here's that information: when somebody submits it, it goes, okay, I'm going to take the information they submitted, their first name and email address, and pass that along to Get Response or AWeber, whatever you're using. Right. Yeah.
So if there was a contact-me button, then it would have to be linked up to something where you could actually go in and look at all the people that submitted their information there. Does that make sense? Cool. All right, let's see here.
So looking at the opt-in box, there's a lot of different options that you have here to play with. You can actually insert your own opt-in form HTML code. I know for a fact that Get Response, I believe, gives you this information. Here's where you'd actually paste it, and once you paste it, you hit process.
As long as everything's correct, it'll go ahead and change this to match the settings that you have in your Get Response account that you set up with the HTML code. So this is something that's actually configured in your autoresponder account. Right, so it isn't actually something that can be edited from the InstaBuilder program. This is going to be something that if you plug into here, you're going to be able to see whatever settings that you have in your autoresponder account.
Right, but if you leave it default, then it's going to stay the same, and you can edit it and that sort of thing. Does that make sense? Cool. Yeah.
Over here. Yeah. Yeah. It has both in there. Cool.
Perfect. Cool. So I have been talking for quite a long time, and I know that we do have some other very important speakers, so I'm just going to go ahead and wrap this up as best as I can with a pretty bow. I hope you guys found this really informative.
I know that there's even things that I've caught myself on that I'm like, I didn't realize that it was this in depth, you know what I'm saying? Because usually I'm just going in and making sure something's broken and then reporting it to the programmers, or telling people how to fix it, right? Cool. So there are some more HTML elements here.
What I would personally do when you guys get on your laptops and you go on — just go to town, just drag and drop a bunch of different things, and just kind of see what each thing does. Because really, if you have your own curiosity about it, you'll be able to figure this all out, and you'll be able to really create magnificent lead capture pages that look really professional, and you guys don't even have to know any coding. Right, so I would definitely, when you guys leave here, I would definitely go on and start dragging and dropping all this stuff.
Really, really play with it. And if you run into any issues, feel free to reach out to us, because there's a lot of things that we — whenever a member finds something, in support it's like, how the heck did they find that? How did they get to this page, and this page, and this page, and this sub page, and this sub page — it's really exciting for me and my team to stumble across a ticket that's like, okay, I'm going to have to spend like 15 minutes just checking out what they did on their account in order to figure out how they got to where they're at, you know?
So, go to town for sure. So there are some combo elements that I do want to touch upon this very briefly. And what combo elements are: you saw all the basic elements on that first page, right, how they were all separated. Well, combo elements just take two of those things and plug them into the same, into one element.
So that way it's just one group. Does that make sense? So I'll throw one on there to show you how it looks. We got product box, we got text and image — so you got text and a little image.
So they all look a little bit different, and you can kind of put them wherever you want. We got a fancy opt-in box here. Let's see how that looks. Oh, wow, that looks nice.
Fancy — check that out. I got an opt-in box in an opt-in box. Look at that. Get awesome local deals now.
I'm getting crazy with it, you know. Let's see. I want to see what order scarcity is, you know. Oh, wow. That's cool.
So that's like a whole thing within itself. Count on setup. We got — oh, what's the expire reaction? Oh, that's cool. So apparently with the — what is this?
Fancy? It's not fancy, is it? Order scarcity. Order scarcity. It looks like you're going to have a little bit more options.
You know, these are definitely more advanced features, that if you use these, definitely dive into their settings, so that way you can get real particular about how your page acts, right? So, these are just, you know, the examples, or the special elements that really work well together, and so they've grouped them up, so that way it's an easy drag-and-drop sort of system, right?
So let me see if there's any I didn't click on. Let me see this one. Order scarcity one — and it's got a little button. That's cool.
So obviously with all these things, you're going to have to go in and kind of see how it plays out for that page. But as you guys can see, there's a lot to this, right? There's a lot of different little features and little things that we can do, that you can do, to really customize your own capture page and really make it your own. And that way, when people land on your page, your page is unique — it stands out, and it can be something that you offer for your own brand or for your own niche, right?
Cool, cool. So I am going to very quickly here hop over, hop on back to the main page. We'll leave that page. Cool. So we're back into the page with that.
That doesn't seem as fun anymore, because we just had like the best playground to play on for like the past 30, 45 minutes, right? So let me head up here to the top. Up here we have training videos. We have FAQ, which is super useful.
If you guys ever get stuck — if you have any — well, here in support, if you guys have a specific problem that's covered in the training video, maybe you got to minute three minutes and 52 seconds, and let us know, like, hey, I got to three minutes and 52 seconds, and then after that I was lost, then we can actually pick up right where the training video left off.
I'm just letting you guys know that, because we've had a few customers do that, a few affiliates do that, and it's really helped us kind of explain where they're at, because then we know exactly where they're at in the thought process, right?
Let me see here. InstaBuilder. Okay, cool, cool. All right, so InstaBuilder, I'm going to go over to the InstaBuilder settings.
And here is all of your kind of — what is that, like umbrella settings, like settings that affect the umbrella of all of your different pages, right? And so these things are going to sound really daunting and like hard to do, but a lot of these things, all you're doing is you're going to click the link here, you're just going to hit yes, yes, yes, yes, and then you're going to get a specific piece of code and then plug it in.
And then you're going to hit yes, yes, yes, yes, and that's essentially all you need to do. And to give you an idea, to link up the Facebook to that page, what you're going to do is you're actually going to create a Facebook app from your Facebook account. It sounds weird, it sounds really wacky.
But what it does is the app is what is going to be the host of the comments. Does that make sense? So the app that you create in Facebook, and then you plug it in here — that's going to create the comments on that page. That makes sense, and there's a link directly on that page that says, please create a Facebook app.
Both of the keys will be needed by InstaBuilder, blah, blah, blah, blah, you know. And essentially, you click that link, you create the app, you get these two pieces of information, you plug them in, and you're good to go. And then Discus — who here knows what Discus is? Okay, cool, cool, cool. Nice.
So essentially what Discus is, is just a commenting system. Some people have Discus accounts, and they're able to comment on product pages, that sort of thing. But essentially it's just another option to give yourself — if you don't want to do Facebook, you can do Discus commenting. It's just another option there.
And for all that, all you need is your Discus short name, which is what you're going to get from Discus. And the short name, you can actually pull that once you register your Discus account and get all that set up. So it's just a matter of setting up the Discus account, getting your short name, and then plugging it in there. GoToWebinar — if you guys want to integrate GoToWebinar on here, honestly, it is more complicated than the other integrations.
And GoToWebinar is going to help you set up a webinar. And if you do want to go through it, it's really more advanced. So if you're going to go through it, I would definitely schedule a callback with one of our support members, and they can actually help you out on the phone if you want to link that up. And the reason that it's a little more complicated is just because there's a few more working parts, and it actually deals with the product API at GoToWebinar.
You can also do image search API. These things right here are totally optional. Even the last one was optional, unless you specifically want to link up your webinar to that page. But these image search features are totally optional.
And basically what it is, is what you're going to do: each of these different image search tools, you can create an account on, and in your account you get an API code. You take that API code and you plug it in here. And when you're looking up images and you're trying to implement images into your InstaBuilder page, then it'll actually populate with pictures and things of that nature, so that way you don't have to upload an image every single time.
It'll actually pull from Flickr, it'll pull from Pixabay. Let's see, I think they have one more — nope. Yeah.
So Flickr and Pixabay are the two that it integrates with. And then you can even implement and integrate an image editor. Honestly, that's another more advanced step. You're better off editing the images beforehand rather than trying to do it actually in the InstaBuilder page by linking up your account. And what you actually have to link up is an Adobe Creative account.
And what you actually have to create is a developer account. So that's one of the main reasons why I say it's a little more advanced, just because there's a little more that goes into it, and it kind of gets a little bit more deeper into coding and that sort of thing. And honestly, unless you really want to be able to edit your image, you're better off using another tool outside of it.
And then to round everything off, you can upload new templates. So you can have a zip file, and all you do is you hit choose file, you select the InstaBuilder template, you hit upload.
And then it's in your account now as a template for you to choose. And then here, of course, you have the good old save button all the way down at the bottom of the page. Who's ever added things at the top of the page and then didn't scroll down and see the save button and then exited out? Who did that? Yeah.
I do it all the time. Desmond, my man. What up? Well, the good news is that on this, they actually come with — we actually have a bunch of templates actually already in there. Yeah.
So if you check this out, I mean, these are all templates that are already in there. And so it really boils down to what do you want to do. And, like, we've got even some really cool ones, like launch pages. You know what I'm saying? They're like, coming soon.
They have videos and — oh, coming soon pages. Yeah, yeah, this is what I was talking about here. These are pages. Here, I'll preview one so you guys can check it out.
Coming soon. So, I mean, very basic page. But this requires a good amount of coding if you don't know how to build your own web page. But if, for instance, you have your own website, or you want to do your own thing and you're still working on it, then you should really point it to a page like this. Because then, if people are looking up and find your domain and click it, and maybe you're not done building your page yet, well, now they have a chance to be like, okay, you know what?
Let me know when this is going to be live, because obviously they landed on the page for a reason, right? But yeah, so there's definitely a lot of different templates on there, and some of them are more customizable than others. It really just, if you look on the content, and the content looks more bare minimum, it's more customizable. If it kind of looks like it has a lot going on, then I would not choose those to customize, just because they're less of a blank slate.
And then you have the issue of, sometimes it can get frustrating making sure things line up and all that jazz. So I would definitely, if you want to go customizing happiness, you want to go for something that's very basic, like something like that — that's a super basic page, thank you for your purchase. I mean, all it is is like a thank you page. And you see how easy that is — click the link below to download, super-duper easy. So, I'm sorry, say that again.
Yeah, yeah, I think you can. Let me — yeah, create from scratch. So you can hit create from scratch if you want to go crazy. I usually recommend starting with a template, just because it's a lot easier because it has the form factor and you can kind of see how the page is set up. But if you really want to just make your own thing, then you can definitely create from scratch.
Yes, sir. Yeah, exactly. Yep. Yeah. And so it doesn't matter if your person has a really small resolution or really big resolution, it'll all look the same.
Or it won't all look the same, but it'll condense to match, right? And it'll look congruent to how it's supposed to look when you preview it. One thing to note is that if you do videos in your page, when people land on it from mobile, some mobile phones have a tougher time loading videos. So that's something to watch out for. It'll still look nice.
But when they try to load up the video, I know that my phone sometimes can kind of freeze up, kind of lag a little bit. So it's just something to think about — even though the page itself is mobile friendly, the video and the specific elements may not be. You in the back? No, you should be able to edit it. If you can't edit it, go ahead and shoot support an email.
Every once in a while there's a bug in the system, and we love squashing bugs. So if you send us the issue that's happening, what we do is we actually look into the HTML code as that button that allows you to edit it, and then we actually send it on over to the programmers, and they can go ahead and look at it and be like, okay, I see that you tried to edit it, it didn't save anything, there's something wrong here.
Let's figure out what's going on. Maybe it's not talking to the database, or the parameters, or whatever craziness that they get into. I tried to learn code once — I got through HTML, CSS, and I started JavaScript. Oh man, JavaScript is rough.
Yes, yeah, you certainly can. Yeah, so starting from a blank slate, it's a little bit easier to see. But essentially this is all I have to my page, and so all I would need to do is just select that, most in the rear, most in the back, against the — does that make sense? Most in the back as in like, yeah, the layers.
Like, so you have the video and it's nested in the green box, but then behind that is your actual background of the web page. Does that make sense? Well, it most likely won't — you'll have to look at, basically, it's tricky, because it's tricky to find the right size requirements in the dimensions for your background.
Because the background changes within the browser. If that person has it full screen, they're going to be able to see more of it. If they don't have it as full screen, it might condense. So it gets a little tricky when coming up with specific dimensions for your background. Does that make sense? I'm sorry, I don't have a better answer for that one. I'm sorry, say it again. Yeah, for sure. Yeah, so basically, to give you an idea, I'm going to click on this page here, and I'm going to go ahead — so I don't have an image to use, but I'm just going to do, you know, black — let's pretend this black image here, that's an actual image that I uploaded, right? Well, in this case, I can add another section, and you'll see that the image is still behind it, and it's going to remain behind it no matter what other things I add. So I can add buttons and all this craziness, but you'll see that the image, because it's the first thing that you edited and it's all the way in the back, it's gonna stay congruent across the whole entire web page. Does that make sense? Cool. Oh, really? That's weird. Yeah, the one way to minimize that would be in the image settings — let me see if I can pull it up real quick. Yeah, so background image, if you do stretch, that should eliminate that. If it doesn't, let us know, because it really should, because what it's supposed to do is stretch it to the whole entire background, right, exactly — you would adjust depending on the size of the screen that the member is using. Cool, sweet.
Oh, you're talking about like Facebook gets angry because you're sharing links and stuff like that? Yeah, I mean, honestly, so here's the challenge with Facebook: we all use very similar links when we're marketing, and so Facebook thinks, hey, somebody made tens of thousands of bots and is spamming the whole world with the secret shortcut to a thousand bucks, right? And so honestly, the best way to minimize that is to use your own domain, use link shorteners like Bitly — have you guys ever heard of Bitly, bit.ly? It's very simple, and that's the web page, and all you do is you go there, you put in the URL that you want to Bitly-shorten, and then it spits out a Bitly link, and a bit.ly link is just a random string of numbers at the end of bit.ly, and all it does is when people click on that link it brings them back to whatever URL you put in the beginning. Does that make sense? Yes, it's the same feature as the plug-in Linkiphy — Linkiphy actually does tracking, so if you want to track, I would definitely use the plug-in Linkiphy. Yeah, I would definitely highly recommend using Linkiphy over using Bitly, just using something so that way you're not sending out the same link as everyone else, because all that happens is that Facebook sees the same domain going out a million times, and then they get angry over there in Facebook world. Yeah, then we end up getting blocked and that sort of thing, and nobody wants that — we want to be able to send out links freely, free the links. So, I know I didn't get to cover every single, you know, some quick videos, my ones — but did I give you guys enough knowledge to actually go in there, have a good idea of what you're using, and be able to play around and figure the rest out? Awesome. Cool. So I'm gonna go ahead and finish off with this last question, and then I will introduce the next speaker, my friend. Yes, you can split test — I want to say as many pages as you want, but let's make sure real quick, let's get up to like maybe five, and then let's call it a day, you know, like five is a lot. Yeah, right. So, I mean, from what I understand, you can keep going through the whole alphabet in the variations, and if you need more than 26 variations, man, you're doing some serious work, man, putting in that hustle. But yeah, so you see that I now actually have variations A, B, C, D, and E, so you can make as many variations as you want and it'll all work the same. Split test settings just populates with the extra percentages there, and you'll notice that you will have to set these manually when you go in there and you have more than two variations, because right now they just start out at both 50 and 50 percent, right? So you have to go in there and set that manually, but you can have as many variations as you want. Cool?
Sweet. Alright, one more. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, I can do that. Yeah, yeah, I can totally do that.
And then I'll introduce our next speaker. I have way too many — this is what happens every single time that I get on anybody's blog, on my blog, is I have way too many tabs open. I don't know how it happens, just like tabs appear, like — pretty sure I brought up that halfway.
Anyway. Okay, so Content Blaster in a nutshell is going to help you create content. Pop Under, pop-up, is going to give you pop-ups on your blog so you can actually collect leads. So who's been on a website that's like, don't leave, opt in for my free email report? Who's been in those sorts of things?
For some reason, news websites are doing that a lot to me. Like, I'll go on there and I'll check out an article, and it'll get me to subscribe. Editorial calendar —
what this is going to allow you to do is just plan out your posts, so that way you can get a good snapshot of how you've been doing, how you've been posting every single day and when your posts are going out. Let me go back. Testimonials, pretty straightforward. This is where you can actually import testimonials and have them available for you on your blog site.
Slipstream — it's hard to explain, really. Yeah, there are tutorials on all of these. Honestly, what I recommend is diving into the tutorial of each one as you go through it, though. Don't watch all the tutorials and then try to do every single plug-in.
Let me see here, because I do need to finish out here. And then, obviously, we have InstaBuilder, which — I'm a little biased because I've been up here talking about it for a while — but InstaBuilder is definitely one of my favorite ones, especially knowing what goes into actually building a web page. So, you know, anything with a premium on it, only premium members get. Also, what premium members get is going to be — they also get the media hosting included.
Also, they have the InstaBuilder tutorials, they have the premium tutorials, so they have extra tutorials for the extra features that they have. And then, I believe that they also get access to the Q&A replays. That's a premium feature. And so what actually happens is we actually have webinars where we have Q&A.
And so you can go on there, you can ask your question, get your question answered, and then we upload it back here for you. As a premium member, you get access to the Q&A replays. Cool. So does that kind of cover a few things?
Cool. Sweet. Awesome. Cool. Well, I want to thank you guys so much.
It's been such a pleasure talking about InstaBuilder. It's been intense. I want to thank you guys so much for having the student mentality and really listening to what I say, and really looking at all the different things and the craziness we got going on here, because these are all tools for you guys to really help your business, right?
So the next person I want to bring up, she is a super cool friend. She's always been there for me, and she is known as the queen of blogging. So I think you guys already know who I'm talking about. Please give a roaring round of applause for Michelle.
