Stop Chasing Prospects: Rhonda Swan’s Attraction Marketing Method
You post a link. Nobody clicks it. You post a picture from your actual life, a trip, a workout, dinner with your kid, and suddenly the comments show up. If you’ve noticed that pattern and felt a little confused by it, Rhonda Swan opens her session by demonstrating it live on stage before she explains why it happens, walking out with a story about a scratched-up knee from her motorbike commute in Bali instead of a pitch.
She’s built her business around traveling full time with her husband and daughter, and the session isn’t really about travel. It’s about a specific marketing philosophy she calls attraction marketing, aimed squarely at people tired of chasing prospects who don’t want to be chased.
Why does chasing people push them away instead of pulling them in?
Rhonda’s whole approach rejects what she calls the push method, the constant offering, the sales links dropped into every conversation, the “look what I got! Let me sell you something!” energy that most new marketers default to because it feels like activity. Her argument is that this method repels the exact people it’s trying to reach.
See, we teach attraction marketing, or I call it freedompreneur marketing, because we’re non-salesy, we aren’t sticky, we don’t sling links at people. We actually pull them in.
The pull comes from sharing a real, specific life rather than a generic pitch. When she talks about freedom, she means something exact: her eight-year-old daughter has visited six continents and has more passport stamps than most adults, a detail that means more to a specific kind of parent watching than any headline about opportunity ever could. Specificity is what converts a stranger scrolling past into someone who stops and reads.
How do you actually find the people who’ll respond to your story?
This is where the session turns practical. Rhonda’s method isn’t to speak to everyone. It’s to speak to three people, specifically.
- Pick three unique customers who are genuinely like you, not a demographic you’re guessing at.
- Study everything about them: what they read, their age, what a normal day looks like for them.
- Start with just one if three feels like too much, and know that person completely before you try to reach a second.
“Pick three, three unique customers that are just like you.” She’s blunt that she never claimed to be a marketing expert, and still isn’t. What she does know is her audience: a corporate mom who wants to travel, and separately, surfers who want a life built around the water. Two different messages, aimed precisely, rather than one vague message aimed at everyone and landing with no one.
What’s actually standing in the way of most people doing this?
Rhonda traces her own drive for freedom back to a childhood where her family’s expectations were shaped by real limitation, a grandfather who had polio, a household where the biggest possibility anyone imagined was simply having enough to eat. She never took a vacation growing up, and once had to invent one for a school essay because she had no real one to describe. That’s the internal conflict she’s naming for the room: the ceiling you inherited from people who loved you but never saw past their own circumstances isn’t the ceiling you’re required to keep.
The challenge most people actually face isn’t lack of opportunity, it’s believing they’re allowed a different outcome than the one they were handed. Rhonda’s answer to that isn’t a mindset slogan. It’s the audience member she brings on stage afterward, a young mother with no prior sales experience and no existing audience, who still built real results simply by getting relentlessly specific about her own story and repeating it daily without holding back, leaning on self-development to quiet the same doubt everyone in that room was carrying.
Whatever you’re selling, the lesson underneath the whole session is the same one: stop trying to be everything to everyone. Get exact about who you are, get exact about who they are, and let the specifics do the pulling instead of the pushing.

What's a freedompreneur? I mean, a freedompreneur is really adventurous. Enthusiast, life enthusiast. Freedompreneurs are happy, crazy.
Like to have a lot of fun. And they're super caring. We'll do all the techs to go and get it, you know. Not afraid to take risks, no excuses.
We have a winning mentality and, you know, if things become rough and we hit a rough patch, we know that there's gonna be light at the end of the tunnel. I would say it starts with living life on your own terms. Any time, anywhere, in any situation, you're able to take care of your needs. Traveling around the world, working anywhere from remote, you give us just a little bit of internet and we're able to connect.
So many individuals that, from all walks of life, you know, there's people that have different careers, different backgrounds, so many different stories, but, you know, they all have their own vision and dreams of freedom. You know, whatever that means to them. So, for instance, I'm a surfer. I'm up at the first of light and I'm out catching waves, snowboarding.
If there is fresh powder, I am out there and I revolve my life around my lifestyle and the work revolves around that. To me, freedom is having a different view every day. I like to travel and it doesn't even, doesn't always need to be somewhere exotic. It just means being able to take a couple weeks off to go ride my motorcycle.
I'm not forced to go to a job I have to just because to pay my bills or, you know, to survive, you know. When you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life. Our definition of freedom is being able to raise our daughter first, you know what I mean, and build the business on the side. I'm actually halfway through my travels around the world living out of my backpack.
Freedompreneurs look at their children in the face and see, what can I do to better them? How can I help my child be a contributor to the world? So many parents don't think about that. They don't take the time to be present with their kids.
And when freedompreneurs come together, it's like a freaking explosion. A mesh of energy that is just so contagious. They want to see the best in people. And to do that, they connect.
I fit and we all fit together and it just makes me feel complete. Everybody is so different, but we all click together because we have the same purpose. By living these new experiences, you know, you get to see and adapt and, you know, be part of this world. I mean, it's a big, big world.
You can't really describe a freedompreneur. By definition, everyone is different. Everybody has their own dream. And so, it's the whole point of being a freedompreneur.
No label. Because the truth is, you are a freedompreneur when you begin to live like a freedompreneur. When you begin to feel it and sense it. And every action that you take is a reflection of your belief that your vision of freedom is that important to you.
Is going to be a very common thing here in the future. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the stage, Rhonda Swann. Watch it, watch it. Yeah, what's up, guys?
Give me some, bring it. Let's go. Feel it, feel it, feel it, feel it. Feel a little down.
How are you, Kevin? Good to see you. How are you, my friends? How are you guys?
Well, you're looking damn good. How many of you guys are feeling like $100,000? You're feeling like $100,000, yeah? Have you ever seen a $100,000 bill?
No, you want to see one? All right. First person comes on up here can have this $100,000 bill. Can you see that?
Show them. Show them. That's $100,000. $100,000 bill of rupiah.
Did you guys know that we've been living as a Freedompreneur now for seven years this November 25th? Pretty cool, huh? We actually had been in our business for three years before we started traveling. So really, we're all Freedompreneurs now, right?
And it's so crazy. So we've been living in Bali. And Brian and Hanalei say hello. They're actually at home.
Hanalei's got school. And it takes about two days to get here. In fact, who traveled more than 48 hours to get here? You did, Sheila, didn't you?
Don't you live in Wisconsin, sister? She drove. It took me 48 hours to get here. 48 hours.
That's my commitment to my business and to you. I have never missed an event in the last 10 years. Never missed an event. Doesn't matter where I live.
Around the world. Doesn't matter what I'm up to or how much money is actually in my bank account. We've always made it happen. I don't say that to get you guys all excited and make you think she's so cool.
Why do you think I say that? Why would you think I tell you that? Dedication, being around the campfire. Guys, these events are your fuel.
They're my fuel. My cup gets filled. Every event that I go to, I know you're looking and thinking, oh, what's that cut in your shin? All right, so this is the deal.
So I live in Bali, and I don't wear heels like this very often. I just got them. They're brand new. Can you tell?
They're super shiny and clean. I ride a motorbike every day in Bali, Indonesia. I literally ride a motorbike. And I have this really big, huge turf on my toe because I usually wear flip flops.
And I decided to change and start wearing tennis shoes because I hurt my toe. And then I scratch my leg really bad because it's like super, crazy traffic. And you're riding to school, and you're like, ah! It's like chaos all the time.
So you have to be totally alert at all times. And I'm riding, and this guy comes by, and his fender, or whatever the heck they're called, those muffler things, just really rip my knee off. So I'm like, dang it. So now I've got to go on stage in front of you guys, and I'm talking to you about freedom and why I travel around the world.
And I got this big, huge cut on my knee. So what are you going to do about that? Right? I didn't wear a pair of pants.
I didn't stay at home. Because it was too long. It was too difficult. Because I was embarrassed.
You see, this video is very powerful. Because we all are here for freedom, aren't we? What does freedom mean to you? Think about it.
Think about it. Because we all use that word. It's almost a buzzword. Let's internalize what does freedom mean to me?
Freedom to me is having the possibility to, no matter what, fly anywhere around the world to allow my daughter, who is now eight years old, who left the United States when she was just one years old, has traveled to six continents. She's eight years old. She has more stamps on her passport than most adults do. And she learns from experiences.
See, that is freedom to me. I never had that before. I didn't have that vision or understand that that actually can happen. In fact, I never took a vacation when I was growing up.
Not one vacation. In fact, I had to write an essay when I was, I think it was like seventh grade. And they asked us to write what our favorite vacation was. What do you do when you have no experiences on a vacation?
I lied. I lied. I made one up. And that day, I told myself, it's in seventh grade, I was probably 12 years old, I will travel.
I will experience life. I will do everything I want to do. Because, see, my parents grew up very small-minded. And so many of us may have families or experiences in our life that we allow to get in our way.
My dad's dad was a very small man. He had polio. His mother had, was in a wheelchair. There was eight kids.
My dad had to basically take care of all the children. And they just never knew possibility. Because the biggest possibility they had was that they could actually eat. The kids worked.
So they grew up with that limiting belief that that's all they could have. And that was passed on to me at a very young age. And so I decided that one day that I would make my life different. That I would live a life of freedom.
And that I can now experience freedom, so I can bring it to you and travel across the world and share it with you. So the possibilities that you guys have are right in front of you. Now, what did you guys see me do when I walked out the door? What did I, what did I do?
Just to give you an idea. I threw you guys some stuff, right? I tossed you out a little bit of value. I tossed you out a little bit of value.
Right? See, you guys are all maybe wondering, okay, we can all talk about freedom and get you all wired up and excited, but what is it that we really do to make people want what I have? Now, I share my vision every day. I share my story every day.
In fact, when I started in this industry, I didn't know how to market at all. Didn't know anything about marketing. But what did I do when I came out here? I threw you guys a bunch of value.
I got you really excited. Now, has anyone else done that today? No judgments. They haven't.
Are you going to remember? Who's got those little Bali magnets? You'll remember this moment, won't you? Kathy, right, Kathy?
You remember that I did that for you. So what I learned, guys, when I was in the system and I was working in pharmaceutical sales, that I had to be different because, see, I had to go through gatekeepers. I was in the pharmaceutical industry. I was a pharmaceutical rep.
My hair was done. I had the master's degree. I'm in the system. I had to be one of the top salespeople in the West Coast.
And see, I had all these doctors that I had to see, but all the same girls that they hired looked like me, right? They're all chicks, walking in, all stellar, right? So I had to stand out. So I always did something very different.
I learned very quickly how to stand out in the crowd. How many of you guys have the Unstoppable Dream product? Yeah! Wow!
Tracy Walker, we crushed that one. Right? Have you guys gone through it? I talk so fast.
I talk so fast. I talk so fast. I talk so fast. I talk so fast.
I talk so fast. I talk so fast. I talk so fast. I talk so fast.
I talk so fast. I talk so fast. I talk so fast. I do this all the time.
I'm not a stalker, but I do a lot of marketing. I do marketing. I do marketing. I do marketing.
I do a lot of marketing. I do a lot of marketing. I do a lot of marketing. Branding yourself.
Do something that no one else is willing to do. Or do something different. Find your exact avatar target marketer customer. Okay?
I say pick three target areas, right? We tell our story. We pick three people that our story can relate to. See, when I started in this industry, I knew nothing about marketing.
And quite frankly, I can honestly say I still don't think I know very much about marketing. but you know what I do know? I know my audience. She is a corporate executive woman that has children that wants to travel.
My husband's got surfers. We've got traveling families that want freedom. That's my whole message all the time. So all I ever do is speak about to those exact customers and make myself stand out so uniquely because, guys, how many of you are in here?
There's maybe, I don't know, five, eight, maybe a thousand people. How many are on the internet? How many? Billions of people.
How many people are marketers? Millions. Millions of marketers. So how are you, are you going to be different?
How are you going to stand out and make someone remember this message you have today? Because we all have the message of freedom, right? But we all have a different message of freedom. So think about when you're marketing.
how do you stand out so uniquely in the crowd that someone's like, wow, I love what they've got? See, we teach attraction marketing, or I call it freedompreneur marketing, because we're non-salesy, we aren't sticky, we don't sling links at people. We actually pull them in. It's the opposite of the push method, which is like, look what I got!
Let me sell you something! Wow, catch that! Let's see if somebody wants it! See, I just do this.
Bam! Every time. So, that's why my people all go all in. Every one of my teammates go all in.
Every one! Doesn't that sound fun? Doesn't that sound fun? To have someone like your story, you say something unique, you have a very special situation, don't you?
There are a lot of people like you. Can you imagine selling to a thousand? Like you, I'm a boss blogger! That's my girl!
See how unique she's being? She's totally standing out. And I know you wear it, because you posted up last night. I saw you going down to my party last night.
She posted up a video. You probably are the ones that got a sale, didn't you, girl? She got the sale. She posted a video.
She was completely unique. She is a boss blogger. I'm an unstoppable mama. Family's an unstoppable family.
We make our message ours, but we only find the people that want to listen to it that can relate. I can't relate to young surfer dudes, but my husband can relate, Nathan can relate to Brian, the message of freedom, but it's also surfers travel. See, guys, in this business, it really isn't that hard. It's just about looking inside.
I know you all have belief in yourself. You wouldn't be here. If you have doubts, you've got people to look around and help you. I'm telling you right now, guys, I'm losing my voice, I've been talking all week.
Pick three, three unique customers that are just like you. Look at yourself and say, what do I like? What do I like to do? What are the books that I read?
What is their age group? Find out everything about them. In the beginning, just pick one. Pick one.
Know them. Like, everything about them. Start shooting a video. Every day.
I shot videos every day. I made myself extremely unique in the crowd. I'm always like, you guys know me, I'm just wild and crazy. But see, that's because that was my unique.
I wanted people to be so annoyed hearing my videos over and over and over again. They're like, dang it, what does that chick do? And, right? Here's the pull.
All I'm doing is pulling them in. And it's no salesy. I'm just like, oh, yeah, come on in. This is what we do.
We've got this awesome system. My buddy Chris, he made this awesome system. And then we've got this incredible, powerful product line in the back end. They can learn from me, do this.
Awesome. I just want that. Don't we all want to be like the Pied Piper? Wouldn't that be so fun?
Who wants to be like the Pied Piper? Oh, really? Come on. That was ridiculous.
Seriously? You guys don't want to make sales? Give me a little bit of wow. I mean, Jesus, people.
I'm doing my best up here. What can I give you? I'm just kidding. Okay.
So, guys, so what happened for me is I found, about 19 months ago, I placed an ad. And the ad was about my vision of never putting my daughter in daycare. And I was like, what? What?
What? What? What? What?
What? What? What? What?
What? What? What? What?
What? What? What? What?
What? What? What? What?
What? What? What? What?
What? What? What? What?
What? What? What? What?
What? What? What? What?
What? What? What? What?
What? What? What? What?
What? And here's this pull method. This one really young girl from Australia sends me a message. She decides to get started.
And then she's just hammering us, like, consistently, I want to get started. What do I do? What's my next move? What's my next move?
We're like, girl, just go through the system. It's all there for you. You just take the steps. And she just kept going and going and going.
And sure enough, this girl gets started. She goes all in. She struggles in the beginning. She's stressed out.
She's frustrated. She's got two kids at home. Stuff is not working for her. And she keeps calling.
I said, girl, just get to the event. I live in Australia, Rhonda. I don't have the money. I said, I know.
That's why you need to be here. Come to New Orleans. So this girl gets in a plane. She flies all across the world.
With no sails. Three or six months under her belt. And she comes to learn. She was freaked out.
It was scary. She was there. And she was upside down with her time zone. She was tired.
And sure enough, by the time that she left that event, she had made her first $3,000 sale. Pretty cool. And then this girl proceeds to go home and comes back to the next event in Charlotte a month later from Australia. I knew I was going to do it.
I checked it out earlier. See, now you guys get to see it. See my funny toe over my motorbike toe. So she, sure enough, what does she do?
She gets back. She comes to Charlotte. She goes home, makes another $3,000. Makes another $3,000.
Then she comes back to the next event in Vegas. Another $3,000. Another $3,000. Sarita Cleese, get your butt on the stage because you've got to come tell them this story.
Where is Sarita? Give her some love. Sarita's Cleese. Yes.
This girl. She is on fire. I love you. Thank you for being you and being true.
Truly unique. This girl has taken her uniqueness and made it her catapult. Listen to this girl. Sit down and listen because she's got something to tell.
I'll take my shoe, babe. Don't trip on it. It's a nice little toe. You're amazing.
I need this chair maybe. Wow. Okay. I'm not as nervous.
This time, which is amazing. I'm still nervous, but I was only asked to speak this morning. I've got everything on my phone, so please apologize. But, you know, it's all about dreaming, you know, making your dreams come true.
I really wanted to speak. And it's funny because I was very, very nervous to speak in Vegas about six months ago. But, I mean, I'm still nervous, but it's not about me being nervous. It's about me serving you guys and inspiring anyone out there, especially parents.
That's, you know, being, it doesn't matter if you're a single dad or a single mom, to be out there and to be able to provide for your children and to have quality time with your children. And this is the whole reason I got started in this business. Thank you. This is what keeps me going.
So, I'm going to do a little exercise with you guys. Stand up, please. I'm going to take my shoes off too, I think. Be careful.
Okay. All right. Close your eyes and breathe. And just repeat after me.
I am strong. I am strong. I am powerful. I am here to serve.
I am love. And feel that. I'm grateful. I feel so blessed to be here in this room with all these amazing, courageous people.
And life is beautiful. Blessings everywhere. Blessings in the skies everywhere. Thank you.
Thank you for coming. Look at those notes. Hi. I did this because how we feel, you know, how did, that make you feel, this exercise.
Because we are all powerful. We are all powerful. Everyone here is very, very powerful. And since you were little, you were told maybe that you weren't good enough.
You know, that you were too sensitive or all those, you know, labels. And you believe that because your parents were like a god to you, you know. Or your teacher. But I want you to remember that how powerful you are.
And you can make an amazing difference, not just for your family, but, you know, we can do amazing things if we realize how powerful we are. And we can elevate a lot of the pain and, you know, the people, like in Portugal, what they're doing is just amazing. But that's just the beginning. And, you know, we doubt ourselves.
You know. I doubt myself. But when I doubt myself, I plug into self-development. I plug into, I was just listening again to Ask and It's Given by Prima Hicks.
Who knows that book? Yeah, I mean, I've maybe not been very, I don't have a lot of experience in sales or network marketing, but I've always done self-development since I was 16. Because it helped me. It helped me feel happier and make peace with my past and make peace with my parents and anyone who's maybe hurt me or, you know.
And, yeah, when you feel better, you create, you attract abundance into your life. And you can reprogram your mind so you can attract that abundance, you know. And the moment you feel. The moment you feel better, the more things just start to flow into your life and you don't have to be super skilled, you know.
And then really focus on what you're good at, you know. I believe we all have a special gift here. We're all here for a purpose and we're not here to do everything ourselves. And I've locked arms with people from the very beginning.
Right, you know. That's why going to events is very powerful. Charlotte was a huge event for me. New Orleans was the first one.
But Charlotte was amazing because I locked arms with Valerie, who is not on my team. But we just connected and we started doing mompreneur hangouts for the moms once a week. Then we co-created Sisters United. We're doing that once a week.
And just giving people a platform to share. But also, you know, you get instant authority. And also for women not to feel so alone. And, you know, I encourage all the dads out there, the men.
To start doing their hangouts because we do get requests, you know. I think there's a need out there for the men as well. And that's powerful in itself, you know. And that's one of the things like Dave has, you know.
Dave has been one of my mentors from the very beginning. I always listen when he speaks. And he says, you know, do one live event a week. And I make sure I do one live event a week because it gives you instant authority.
So let me just check what else I've got on here. Tell them what you do every day though, Sarita. We want to know this because Sarita does a couple of special things. We talked about uniqueness quite a bit.
And in the beginning, you really just honed in on that. You're like, I don't know how to market. So what did you do every day that found those women? Yeah, okay.
Well, I really put my ego in the bin. And I followed the eight core commitments. One of my focuses was I heard my cops say get 30 to 50 leads a day. And that's been my focus.
That's been my main focus. I think that's, I haven't actually focused on sales. I focus on getting 30 to 50 leads a day because the sales will roll in if you provide value and if you get consistent lead flow. So leads is very, very important.
And there's lots of ways to get leads. There's free ways to get leads. There's paid ways to get leads. And just focus on one method in my, you know.
I just listen to my mentors. I listen to all the people that are having success at that moment in time. How many of you guys have seen Sarita's post with her pictures and her quotes and her, you've seen those? Yeah, a lot.
You're so consistent with that. That message is always the same. She talks to, what is your perfect target market? Who are they?
Yes, well, I pretty much, it's all about attraction marketing. So I talk about my passions, my children. And, you know, the truth, it is the truth, you know. I speak what I…
You know, remembering your why because I remember my why every day. I mean, this morning I got a Facebook reminder telling me four years ago there was this picture of my daughter and I posted it straight away on Facebook. I thought it was ironic because I'm speaking on stage today and the whole reason I'm on stage is because of her, you know, and because of my son. Yeah.
So, yeah, every day I just, you know, share my heart and I don't hold back. And I really… I feel the fear and do it anyway. Like, speaking on stage does scare me, but I know it's important.
But I really wanted it too because I know, you know, I have something to share and I have value to give and I have results. And even though it might be a little bit weird, I do have results and I want people to have results, you know, just like me. It's not weird, it's unique, right? That's what we all are, right?
Thank you. She's amazing and she's done amazing things. I mean, this last week, Sarita, it's ridiculous, to be honest with you. It's so amazing when you see people that just soar.
How many black sales have you had this week? To be honest, I haven't really counted because I've been very busy. You haven't even just counted. But, yeah, four or five.
Four or five this week. That's amazing. But, you know, like, everyone can do this. You really believe in yourself and if you have those negative thoughts, you need to plug into the self-development.
And that's something I've done since I was… since I was 16, so that's why, you know, I might be new to this industry, but I'm not new to working on myself and I'm constantly, you know, clearing myself out, seeking help and making sure that I clear myself out so I can give, you know, provide more value to my people. Can we do this? Can we do it?
Yeah, we can do this. All of us can do it. Sarita, no past experience. You just found out her niche.
Got really very unique. Super clear in her story and just shared it like mad. I tell you, people get excited when they see you sharing your story. They want to know.
They're going to start asking questions. That's why when Tracy said, take pictures, take pictures, do this, share it because people are watching you. They're watching everything that you do. They saw her growth.
They see her traveling around the world. These ladies are like, dang, if this girl can do it, I can too. Yeah, don't hold back. I mean, just before I post a picture in front of that stage or, you know, I learned from when I do the videos.
I do a lot of videos and I do now these days. I just post the first video because usually it's the best one. And people really like, you know, if it's not perfect because they can relate to you and they feel like they can do it too. I feel, you know, it's actually in your favor that it's not perfect.
Yeah. Sometimes being new is like it's in your favor. All right, guys. So can we do this?
Can we do this? Bring it up here, guys. Give Sarita some love. Yeah, because we all can do this.
We all got it inside of ourselves. All right, guys. Bring it together. We've got some amazing guy coming up.
Keep up this energy for Jon Ox. There you go. It's okay. It's okay.

I didn't have that vision or understand that actually can happen.
So they grew up with that limiting belief that's all they could have.
I do this all the time.
I'm not a stalker, but I do a lot of marketing.
What?
Then she comes back to the next event in Vegas.
Another $3,000.
I plug into, I was just listening again to Ask and It's Given by Abraham Hicks.
I speak what I...
And I really...
I feel the fear and do it anyway.
But, yeah, four or five this week.
That's amazing. But, you know, like, everyone can do this. You really believe in yourself and if you have those negative thoughts, you need to plug into the self-development. And that's something I've done since I was... since I was 16, so that's why, you know, I might be new to this industry, but I'm not new to working on myself and I'm constantly, you know, clearing myself out, seeking help and making sure that I clear myself out so I can give, you know, provide more value to my people.
It's okay. It's okay.
