Megaphone: The Landing Page Builder Vic Strizheus Reaches For When Simple Wins

You have an idea for a lead magnet and zero interest in learning HTML. Maybe you already asked a developer for a quote and choked on the number. Maybe you opened a page builder once, watched every setting live three menus deep, and closed the tab out of frustration. Vic Strizheus runs into a version of this with his own students constantly, which is why in this lesson he skips the theory, opens his own account on screen, and shows you the tool he personally reaches for when he wants a page up fast: Megaphone.

Megaphone is built by Kajabi, and it sits at an odd spot on the cost ladder. Cheaper builders exist. Kajabi’s own full platform costs more and does a lot more. Vic is upfront that cost is not why he keeps coming back to this particular tool. What keeps him there is that it gets out of the way. You are not managing software. You are just building a page.

What can you actually build inside Megaphone?

Log into the account and the template library tells you most of what you need to know about the tool. There are lead capture pages, thank you pages, download pages, training pages, webinar registration pages, launch pages, sales pages, and plain text pages for when you just need something simple posted online. Pick a lead magnet template and, as Vic points out while clicking through his own account, you can build your entire front end funnel on one platform: the capture page that collects the opt in and the delivery page the visitor lands on right after, so nobody ever has to touch a line of code to make it work.

Before you even get to the design, there is a short list of settings sitting on the left side of the editor:

• URL settings, where you choose the platform’s domain or point it at your own custom domain.
• SEO settings for the page itself.
• Autoresponder integration through an API connection, whether you run AWeber, GetResponse, Infusionsoft, or something else.
• Google Analytics integration, so traffic gets tracked from day one.

Why does a simpler tool beat a fancier one?

Once those pieces are connected, the actual editing is almost aggressively plain. Click the background image and swap it. Click the headline and type your own. Click the button and change what it says. Vic edits a live template on screen this way, in real time, changing a background, bolding a headline, and updating the call to action button in the space of a couple of minutes, and the finished URL sits right at the top of the editor the whole time so you always know exactly what you are looking at.

That is the whole pitch, and it is a deliberate one. A lot of marketers assume the fanciest builder with the most options wins. Vic’s experience runs the other way. The tool that gets you a working page today beats the tool you are still customizing next week. As he tells the room while walking through the editor, “you don’t need to know any of the HTML you don’t even need to hire anybody”, and that is really the point of showing you this software at all.

Does the platform you pick actually decide your results?

He is careful not to oversell Megaphone itself. Elsewhere in the course he shows Leadpages and Kajabi’s full platform too, and says plainly that any of them will work fine for building a page. The tool is not the variable that moves the needle. What you put on the page, the hook, the offer, the psychology behind why someone opts in at all, that is the part this whole training is built around, and it is the part no template can do for you.

All right, so I’m gonna show you another really cool place you can go to, you can check out, to create a really, really cool looking landing page, is really, really easy. This is actually one of my favorites personally, it’s a megaphone, right, megaphone app.com. Actually gonna post a link below this video for you to check it out as well. Again, these are, I’m just showing you the places I use myself, you know what I mean. So again, check them out, you know. I’m not sure if you’re gonna use them, if you’re not gonna use them, but if you want to use them, you know, they’re great. I, you know, I personally use them, it works really good, okay, something definitely you know you might want to check out. Now, this one is actually a little bit more expensive than the elite pages. I think pages like starts out at like 37 bucks a month, this one I think it’s like 47 or 49 dollars a month to start. But what I love about Megaphone is its simplicity, it’s, it’s, you know, it’s produced by Kajabi, okay. So and Kajabi is a website that you can go to, and you can go to the website and you can, Kajabi is actually a really, really good platform created for internet marketers by internet marketers, really good stuff these guys produce. But the reason I love Megaphone is for its simplicity, for it’s just how the pages look and feel. It’s just pretty cool. Let me show you what’s inside here, okay. So I’ve logged into my account, let’s take a look at some templates here, okay. So again, there is different things you can create here as well, like from sign up, which is your lead capture pages, to thank you pages, to download. Let’s take a look at some of these, right, these are your thank you pages, download pages, you know, even training pages you can do. Let’s say if you want to do and create like a lead magnet, right, and you don’t know how to design a website. Well, you can create a, you know, a lead capture page, okay. You can create your capture machine on the front end using the Megaphone platform. And then you can create the same platform. Using the same platform, you can create a training page to where you will get people redirected to, and this can be your lead magnet delivery page. You see what I’m saying? So you don’t need to know any of the HTML, you don’t even need to hire anybody, you know, you can do all this here. You can create webinar registration pages, launch pages, sales pages, here again, right, pretty cool stuff, special offer pages, you know, text only, if you just want to create, you know, put up some kind of ladder up out there on the internet, and, and no, and just use this, this service. Again, it’s really, really cool, my friend, I love it personally, it’s actually really, really easy to use. And, you know, to do that, you just click on it, and you know, and select, um, you know, just, just follow the instructions there, uh, you know, it’s pretty simple. I’m not going to do that here, because I am, uh, I have my, my, uh, Megaphone set up with my Infusionsoft account, which is a little bit different than, than GetResponse. But essentially, what you’re doing here is you’re going to integrate, uh, your capture page from Megaphone with your, if you are using, let’s say, AWeber, or Infusionsoft, or, you know, or using GetResponse, or any of the other ones, uh, they connect through something what’s called API, okay. Uh, and they, excuse me, they have tutorial on how to do that. Uh, you can integrate, you know, with Google Analytics here. Let’s take a look at the colors, okay, so yeah, that’s, you know, you can change colors. But basically what we’re looking at is the content, okay. So, background image, let’s say we wanted to select this one, okay, boom, see that, pretty cool, right? I wanted to change it, boom, simple as that, okay, changing your background image. You know, we can do this one kind of like this one, okay, let’s go with that, okay. You can upload your, your own image here as well. We can click on save. Now we move on to the headline, or you can just, just, you know, put your cursor on here and click on edit, okay, and this is, is where you enter your headline. I’ll say, you know, 100% free, okay, bam, okay, see that, make it bold, click on save, okay. Now we added the, you know, this text right here, you know, whatever you want to enter here, click on OK, right, pitch, again, same thing here. So everything is editable, my friend. You know, call to action, you know, you would edit it there, and then the button, you know, what do you want the button to say, and then this little thing below the button, okay. And so then it gives you your URL right at the top over here, see that, right at the top, this is your URL, and that’s how your page is gonna look like, okay. So pretty, pretty simple, I mean, I don’t, you know, it’s actually the probably the simplest thing that’s out there, you know, right now, that is Mexican a phone.
