The Three-Filter Diagnostic That Decides Whether Your Landing Page Converts

This lesson is part of Internet Traffic Formula
The full recording is free with an account. One email gets you in.

You’ve been sending traffic to the same opt-in page for weeks. Some people opt in. Most don’t. You swap the button color, try a different stock photo, maybe rewrite a line or two, and the number barely moves. You don’t actually know which part of the page is broken, so you’re just poking at all of it and hoping something sticks.

Vic Strizheus opened this call by doing something different. He asked participants to submit their actual landing pages ahead of time, over 160 came in, and he reviewed a stack of them live and unedited, page by page, in front of the whole group. What comes out of that hour isn’t a checklist of fixes. It’s a plain way to find out exactly which part of your page is the problem before you touch anything.

What are the three things that actually decide if someone opts in?

Vic breaks every landing page down into three checkpoints. Get any one of them wrong and the other two don’t matter much.

The first is your message and hook, the actual words on the page. The second is design and layout, how it’s built and where things sit on the screen. As Vic Strizheus puts it, “The candy, you know, can be awesome and sweet and everything, but if the wrapper is kind of crappy, you know, nobody’s going to buy the candy, see what I’m saying, right?” Your offer can be genuinely good and still get ignored if the page presenting it looks off.

Working through the submitted pages, the same fixable problems kept showing up:

  • Headlines packed with an exact daily dollar figure, the kind that felt fresh a decade ago and now reads as identical to thousands of other pages running the same line.
  • The word guaranteed attached to income or results. Vic said he would never put that word into anything he runs, since nobody can actually promise an outcome they don’t control.
  • Opt-in boxes sitting below the fold, forcing a visitor to scroll before they even see where to enter their email.
  • Facebook and Twitter icons, or a banner image that looks clickable and drags people off to another page entirely, when the only job of that screen is to capture an email address.
  • Low-resolution background photos. His fix: search Google Images, use the size filter, and only keep images larger than roughly 4 megapixels (2272 by 1704 or bigger) so nothing looks stretched or blurry on a full screen.
  • Copy that invites visitors to join a mailing list, which he flags immediately as a page killer, because a stranger who just found you has no reason to want to join anything yet.

None of this is guesswork dressed up as opinion. It’s the same three-filter pass, run over and over on real pages, until the pattern is obvious.

Why did a page that looked completely fine still make him back away?

Here’s the part most people skip. Vic spent time early in his career selling insurance, watching trained salespeople deliver the exact same scripted pitch to different prospects. Sometimes the sale closed easily. Sometimes the identical words landed flat and the prospect suddenly needed time to think it over. Same script. Different result. He calls the gap between those two outcomes the unexplainable, a page or a pitch that checks every box on paper and still doesn’t pull people in.

His read on it is simple, and he’s clear it’s a personal theory, not a formula: whatever state you’re in when you build the page gets transferred to whoever lands on it. Rushed, doubtful, copying someone else’s template without believing in it, that comes through. You can’t always name why a page feels a little hollow. Visitors can’t either. They just quietly leave.

What promise are you making before anyone even opts in?

One submitted page led with a straightforward pitch: keep your money in your pocket, and if you don’t make any, they’ll pay you for trying. Vic’s reaction wasn’t about the design or the headline this time.

What’s going to make or break your business a lot of times is this thing called pre-framing.

Pre-framing is the expectation someone walks in with before they ever see your offer. A page built entirely around the promise that you cannot lose tells a visitor, before they’ve opted in, that they’re not expected to do any actual work. As Vic Strizheus puts it, “when I’m building my business, I don’t want to attract people who are at the lowest point in their life possible and they’re just desperate.” That’s exactly who a no-risk, get-paid-to-try message pulls in. Those are also the people most likely to refund, complain, and burn out the moment real effort is required.

The same logic applies to the flood of zero-to-five-thousand-a-month headlines he saw across the submitted pages. Thousands of other marketers are running some version of that identical line into the same traffic sources. His suggestion wasn’t to write a punchier version of it. It was to look at what everyone else in the space is doing right now and go the opposite direction, because a message that’s been copied that many times has already lost whatever pull it once had.

Run your own page through the same three checkpoints this week: is the message actually yours or a copy of what everyone else is running, is the layout getting out of the visitor’s way, and what expectation are you setting before that first opt-in. Then split test one change at a time and keep the version that wins.

To go live very soon. What's happening everybody? Good evening everybody, good evening. I think we're live so I'll just go ahead and get rolling.

How are you guys? Everybody doing great? As soon as you can hear me, as soon as you can see me, would you do me a favor? Would you just give me a quick why or something so that I can see that I'm online?

That would be great. So we can get started with a coaching call, a Q&A session, and specifically what we're going to do tonight is we're going to do reviews for the landing pages for you guys, which I think is very, very important for your business. If you're building your business, regardless of what you're promoting, regardless of what you're doing out there, that's what we're going to be talking about. All right, make sure that I can see you guys.

Okay, refresh, refresh. If somebody's not seeing me or whatever, just tell them to refresh the screen, hit the play button. We should be up on the air. All right, we should be up on the air.

Cool, cool, cool, cool. Give me one second, everybody. Let me do something real quick and we are going to get rolling. We still got people coming in here.

All right. One second, one second. Let those people who are 30 seconds late come on. All right.

You guys had a good week? Yeah? Let me know. I'm pumped to be talking to you.

I'm pumped to be talking with you again tonight because I like to do this kind of stuff, you know? And specifically what we're going to do tonight I think is going to be of a major, major benefit for you guys here tonight. I want to say here. Okay, so the thing that I wanted to do is I just wanted to go over a lot of like a bunch of landing pages and just kind of review them.

I don't want to say create them. I don't want to say critique, you know, because, you know, critique has that negative connotation to it. I would rather just review it, okay, for you guys and, you know, hopefully a lot of you or hopefully everybody got that little survey to where you could submit your landing page. But, you know, I thought this would be a very good pit stop for us to kind of take and to kind of go back and review some of these landing pages because as you guys are sending traffic to your landing pages, you see, what happens is, you know, you get a certain amount of traffic.

You know, you get a certain result, right? You get, you know, the outcome for the landing page is for you to get an opt-in. It's for you to get that person, that visitor to enter their email address, you know, maybe their name. You shouldn't really be asking for more than just, you know, name and email.

What I found is that, you know, if you just ask for just straight up an email address, typically you will have a little bit of a bump in conversions. But, again, the outcome for that is, of course, we need to build a list. Okay? And as you're building your list, as you have more people onto your list, then it becomes, you know, you kind of step it into the second phase of building your business, which is, you know, getting those people through the funnel, right?

Building more of a relationship with them if that's your thing, right? Hopefully, you know, you're here to stay in this industry. Hopefully, you're building your business for, you know, with a long-term vision. You see what I'm saying?

And if you want to build your business with a long-term vision for this. Okay? So that, you know what, you can do what you want to do, when you want to do it, and you feel like you have full control of your business. You see what I'm saying?

You need to do certain things in a certain way. And this is not like optional, folks. This is not something that, you know, you can be casual about. These are some of the things that we need to understand as marketers.

Because I think if we don't, we're pretty much screwed. You know, if you can, here's the thing. Okay? So if you don't know how to get traffic, you've got to do this.

You've got to learn how to get traffic, right? That's bottom line. But you've got to get traffic somewhere, which is your landing page. Always, always get your traffic to the landing page.

I've been preaching this over again. I'm going to preach this until you, you know, until everybody does it. Because I still see some people out there, you know, not doing it. But, you know, getting traffic to your landing page, building your list is important.

The rule of thumb, folks, is this. Okay? And this is why, you know, this is why I'm so excited about what we're about to do with Internet Traffic Formula. And obviously, you're, you know, you're getting to the point.

You're getting to where in like a week or two or so, you'll be getting to the conversion mastery part of the course, right? Which where we're going to talk about really how to take your subscribers that you have been accumulating, right? Your list that you have been building over this, you know, the last however many weeks you have been doing this or years maybe, right? And what to really do with them.

You know, how to put together your promotions, how to put together, how to write your emails, how to take them through that, you know, through that funnel, right? To help them achieve what they really wanted to achieve in the first place when they got to your funnel or into your funnel in the beginning. Does that make sense? So there's a real science to it.

There's a lot of, you know, there's a lot of some strategic stuff you guys need to understand which we're going to be talking about. And I think, you know, by the time you're done with Internet Traffic Formula, everything is going to come together, bam, right? In a nice big picture for you and you'll be equipped with all the knowledge that you need. Okay.

So. A landing page is a very important thing. Let me pull up this screen here because we're going to do this together. We are going to do this together, okay?

I got like, let's see how many I got actually here. Well, last time I checked and I'm not going to refresh this because it's going to screw everything up before me. But last time I refreshed this which was like maybe 45 minutes ago. We had over 160 entries for landing pages.

So there was a lot. Okay. So let's just go ahead and dive right into this together, folks. And I took a few notes on a few of them but I really wanted to do this together, you know, live with everybody here.

I think it will be more beneficial, okay? I prefer to do it like that just so, you know, it's raw, right? It's a lot. It's not anything that we would, okay, so here, okay, we got, you know, some of them were not English, so, I mean, obviously, I cannot review something that's not, you know, written in English.

I don't speak, I mean, unless it's, like, Ukrainian, you know, I can do that. I can also do Russian, but, and English, that's about it, okay? So, if you submitted a landing page that was, like, in Spanish or Japanese or something like that, you know, or some other languages, I cannot help you, okay? So, this was the very first entry that came in, like, as soon as that email hit your, you know, as soon as we sent out that email, this was the first landing page we got, and this person is saying that, hey, this landing page is converting at 18%, that's one eight, all right, 18% conversion rate.

What can we do to improve that? Now, the beautiful thing about doing it anonymously like this, folks, is that, you know, I don't know who you are. I really have no idea who submitted these landing pages. I don't know, you know, the person behind this.

You know, this is totally anonymous, so I can give you, you know, my personal opinion. Now, you know, the opinion I will give you, does that mean that, you know, it's the, you know, either, you know, you take my opinion and run with it, or your stuff is not going to convert? No. You know, I'll just give you my personal take on it, and then, you know, maybe give you a couple suggestions.

You know, whatever, what I would do personally if I were you, all right, and then you decide what you do with it, you know. The best thing, you know, the best thing you can do is always split test your stuff, okay? So, you know, if I give you an idea or whatever, jot it down, right, and then, you know, and do another variation of it, okay? I wouldn't delete the, I wouldn't delete the original one.

I would just, you know, do another variation of it, and just to see how it goes for you. This game is… Split testing, tweaking, and tracking your results, you know, as much as on the ongoing basis, really. So, take a look at this page, okay?

So, first thing, here is what I'm thinking, okay, guys? When I look at, when I look at this business of landing pages, okay, here is, I can, I can, I can, I can, you know, if we were to boil everything down, okay, with this business of landing pages, and the whole thing like conversions, okay? Okay. We can boil this down to three different categories, and I want you to be aware of them, because I think it's going to be important for you as a marketer to understand, you know, moving into the future, and building your business, you know, as a career, right?

Turning this into a career. And let me tell you something. If you're not building this business with an intention of, you know what, this is going to be my career, this is what I want to do, you know, you know, yeah, you can play with it, whatever, right? And that's cool.

You know, whatever your goals are, you know, that's totally up to you, you know, you may be doing this as a… as a side, you know, gig, you know, hobby, or something just to play around with, you know, and that's okay, you know, but if you're somebody like myself, for example, you know, when I, in 2005, when I decided to really take things, and just really take control of my life in a way that, you know what, I want to provide the best for my family, the best for myself, and I want to do it online, I want to work from home, right?

I want to literally become the best at what I do, and I want to turn this into a lifelong, long career for myself, something that I would enjoy, right? That was kind of my intention when I was getting started, and so for me, you know, this is, this is everything, you know, online marketing, this whole, you know, business building, this testing and doing what I'm doing, what you're doing, I mean, this is what I do for business, okay, that's it, alright? So when, when I approach it like that, okay, there is three things you need to understand when it comes to landing pages, especially.

The first thing you need to understand is, you know, when you're looking at your business, this is the wrapper on your business, so to speak, okay? They don't know what you're promoting, they don't know how awesome your thing is, they don't know what's behind this page, all they see is this wrapper, okay, on the candy, alright? The candy, you know, can be awesome and sweet and everything, but if the wrapper is kind of crappy, you know, nobody's going to buy the candy, see what I'm saying, right? So there's three main categories that is, that, that, you know, all the kind of critiques or, or feedback is going to fall into, okay?

Number one category is going to be your message, okay? Your message or your hook, okay, same thing. So the, the message can be, you know, if the message is not compelling enough, okay, we can have the, the most awesome looking graphic, okay, it's not going to convert as well as we want to do, okay? Thing number one is message and hook, okay?

Now, thing number two or category number two is design and layout. Okay, design and layout, well, what do I mean by that? Well, you can have the most powerful, the most, you know, influential message ever that anybody can write on the planet, okay? But if your layout, if your, if your design of the, of the landing page of your, you know, of, of what people see, their first impression of it, if that's crappy, okay, nobody's ever going to read your message or maybe if your message is below the fold or something crazy like that, you see what I'm saying, okay?

So it's, it's important, just be conscious of it when you're, you know, when you're, when you're building this kind of stuff. And then category number three, can anybody guess what that would be? Can you guys guess what, what category number three might be? Well, category number three is this, check this out, okay?

What if you have the most compelling message, like if you, you know, look, you can be the most talented copywriter in the world, right? You know, you, you can be the Dan Kennedy of the world, you can be the Frank Kern of the world, you can be the most genius copywriter ever, right? And you can have the most awesome design ever. But have you ever felt?

Have you ever, you know, have you ever landed on the, on the, on the landing page or on the opt-in page and it looked great, okay? It had all the components that it needed to have and the message was kind of, you know, it was, it was compelling to you but, you know, something deep down of you, something you, you said, you know what, I don't know, man, that's, maybe, maybe next time, you know, not, not now, you know, maybe I'll come back to it or whatever or some, or something got your attention and you kind of like got distracted or whatever, right?

Something what I call the unexplainable, okay? That's category number three. And, and, and the reason for, you know, I, I wanted to kind of talk to you about this is because, guys, look, I don't believe in, in, in these, you know, weird stuff, you know. Justin Varenges, he's probably, you know, the, the, the dude who's going to be more into that, you know, universal, all that, all that stuff, right?

Which is cool but, you know what, one thing that I've, that I see over and over and over again and this has been proven like beyond, you know, the shadow of a doubt is that there is a category that your business can fall into. Especially your rep or especially your first impression of your business, which is your landing page, okay, to where it's, it's a mystery, okay? I, I have no idea. You know, I have, I have been in sales.

I was, I was selling insurance, you know, for, for a short period of time and, you know, and I, and I've, I've rolled with, you know, some of the, some of the most well-trained sales people in the industry, okay, in, in, certainly in that particular company. And, and I, and I just kind of sat down in the beginning and listened to their presentations and sometimes, right, I mean, they, see, all their presentations were the same, okay? It was, it was pretty much scripted, okay? They said the exact same thing over and over and over again but what I noticed is that sometimes the person would deliver the presentation and they would get sales like that, okay, very, very easily, okay?

And sometimes they would deliver the same exact presentation, okay, and people would say, well, you know what? Everything makes sense but I got to think about it, okay, and think about it meaning, you know, basically no. You know what I mean? When you're in sales, you know that, right?

Same thing happens online, okay? Same thing happens online, same thing happens on the phone. What is the difference? Well, it's a mystery and what, the, the best definition I could find or the best definition I could come up with myself for that is, you know what?

Something you cannot explain and I think it's what happens, what's going on in your mind when you're creating the thing, when you're delivering your presentation. You see, when you're writing that email, what is going on in your mind, your state, all right, gets somehow, you know, somehow mysteriously gets transferred or at least most of the time gets transferred down to the prospect and you can have the most awesome looking landing page, right? But when people see that, they go, well, I don't know, you know, it looks good and everything, you know, maybe they'll save it on their desktop, you know, not opt in and then they'll come back to it which again never, usually never happens, okay?

Just keep that in mind. So. Let's talk about this first one here, okay? So here's my, here's my honest feedback right away.

Boom. When I see this, I kind of, I kind of filter this through those three categories because really that's, that's, you know, your, your landing page is going to fall into one of the three categories, okay? You know, the, the three checkpoints if you, you know, so to speak, message, design and, you know, your feeling, how you, you know, do you want to take action? Does it, does it kind of pull you in, right?

What kind of, I mean, it's, it's that, that whole energy that's kind of behind the page and I think it has to do with that. It has to do with the person, you know, creating it when they created it. So you know, the first thing that I see here is the message. Okay, the first thing, boom.

The, the headline is a little bit, little, little monotone, okay? Let me explain what I mean by that. When I look at this first, okay, I see it's, it's a little bit long headline for this particular box, okay? Genuine internet millionaire reveals proven system that floods 1763 per day.

into your bank account. You know what? Right about here, it's becoming a little bit hard for me to continue focusing on the words. That could be a couple of things.

That could be the color and the fact that there's a lot of letters with the same color with the same background and then when you start reading it to about half of it, then it doesn't keep your attention. Account on autopilot. Guaranteed to work for you or get $500 just for trying. The person who, I don't know if they're on a call here tonight or not, but maybe they'll watch this recorded.

By the way guys, I don't want to address anything that has nothing to do with the topic for tonight just because these calls are recorded and I want them to be grouped properly in the training sequence. We will be having a completely open Q&A to where I can answer your questions. I can stay for a couple of hours or whatever, just answering your questions, whatever the heck comes onto your mind. We can answer those.

If I was this person behind this page, the first thing I would do is I would make this headline shorter. Genuine Internet Millionaire Reveals Proven System That Floods $1,763 Per Day. Right here, $1,763 per day, that alone folks, if you were promoting this in 2005 or 2006, this would probably work like gangbusters. Why?

Because this sort of stuff would be new back in 2005. Today, everybody's saying, well, this is a good thing. This is a good thing. This is good.

This is a good thing. This is a good thing. This is a very good thing. So everybody's seeing these types of messages.

Secret system makes $1,763. Secret system makes $2,195.93 per day. That kind of stuff. Right away, I think that creates a little bit of a, you know what, I've already seen that type of response from people.

Into your bank account on autopilot. This could be, you know, this is a borderline hypersexist movement. IP right here. I would see if I could tweak that just a little bit.

Guaranteed to work for you. Guaranteed to work or you get $500 just for trying. Now another thing is unless there is really a guarantee that if something is not going to work, they actually get $500 just for trying, I would never, ever, ever put a word guarantee into anything because you really cannot. Listen, can I guarantee I'm going to be up tomorrow?

Can I guarantee I'm going to wake up tomorrow? Heck no. Can you guarantee you're going to wake up tomorrow? No.

Can I guarantee anybody is going to make money? Absolutely not. You see what I'm saying? I would stay away from words like guaranteed in my marketing because that can backfire on you.

Limited applications accepted. Enter your email address below now to learn more. So I would rewrite this message and maybe not be as hypey. Create not as hypey versions.

Okay, so this is a little bit more on a generic side. How can you be more specific? What does your system do? Think about this.

Think about your prospect. Then think about yourself. If you were your own prospect and if you had no idea what's behind this page, well obviously you do because you created it. Thank you.

You're promoting something that's behind this but if you had no idea what's behind this page and looking at the industry as a whole seeing what people are promoting out there, and most of the people are promoting very generic stuff. How would you respond to this? What I would look at doing is take a look at, you know, what does your prospect want? Well, they want to make money.

Right? They want to have the listener, but you say, well, K I'm what do they not what okay or what they would what don't they want to do K I or what are they sick and tired of so I would I would position that into you are into a I'm a headline K and do a B version of it and split tested against this one and that can see how it goes K everything else looks a looks pretty good your information 100 secure with us you will never sell rent or anything okay details okay so tweet this I mean this converting at 18 percent which is just below the industry average industry which is about 20 percent 20 25 percent I'm so I would definitely tweak the headline for sure out create maybe like three different variations a bit I'm instance but that's K alright I'm here's another one this one is converting I'm E at 38 percent K according to the person who sent it I'm first impression is it looks pretty clean K which is cool the water definitely this is a new thing you don't see a lot of the landing pages with the you know with the video looping in the background I that's a good thing I'm I do wonder though I'm how it works with I'm like slower connections you know I saw I I don't know you know I don't know the arm you know it could be fine it could not be I'm I would definitely split test this one K if it's converting at 38 percent this is above industry average the CA this one thing took me from flat broke and hopeless to be able to make over three hundred and eighty six dollars per day on the side while still working a full-time job and you can model it now KM I would split test this if it's converting see a 38 percent this is good K I'm another thing to consider is what kinda traffic you're sending this to so I'm you know if it's if it's generic traffic if you're sending traffic from people who work at jobs K then this would be a good compelling message to them because you know somebody has a job by somebody if somebody on just hate to work for somebody right I and they're looking at this and and they see that you know well you making three hundred eighty six dollars per day on the side while still working at the full-time job why in the world would you still work a full-time job if you make three hundred eighty six bucks a day she I'm saying so that there could be a little bit of a conflicting you know mmm message what people how people interpret it okay so I would definitely split test this one against I'm couple things I will create the same variation with a still background K just to see if that's gonna make a difference it might or it might not I don't know K that but I would split test I'm and then another variation I would do is I would split test this variation and the one with a still background K I'm against a slightly modified I'm headline this one thing to be from flat broke and hopeless K that's a good start because a lot of people are flat broken a lot of people are hopeless to being able to make over three hundred eighty six dollars per day on the side I would say something like you know this one thing to be from flat broke and hopeless to earning up to three hundred eighty six dollars per day dot dot dot and you can model this starting in the next 20 24 48 hours I get I don't know what you really promoting behind this but some something in that regard K see if that's gonna give you a nice bump I'm in there K now make sure that when you when you when you you know say something about numbers or I'm you know you disclose our you know you talk about specific income I that you refer to you in income disclosure right right after they opt in you know make sure that you cover that or I'm you know just make sure that it's it's it's clear that you know what you're not he you know you're not guaranteeing that they'll make two hundred eighty six dollars per day you know you're not make two hundred eighty six dollars per day make your own money more than that you know you're not making three hundred eighty six dollars per day you know you're not making three hundred eighty six dollars per day and if you have never made three hundred eighty six dollars per day I'm I would not put something that you cannot verify K just to just be on the lookout for that I'm otherwise I think I think this page is is on on on the right track I think you can be definitely bumped to you know another on 10 15 maybe even 20 points just by split tested K you're definitely right track I like how the the center kinda pops with the white back back with the white background here looks pretty cool all right here's another one let's see here this one okay it's a proposal writing guide and I believe this person said that this is a new landing page that they just created and they don't know how well it converts yet okay so let's see if we can if we can give him some feedback now I I personally think this page can do okay depending on what kind of people you put it in front of okay so if you will put it in front of like business people okay it would probably do okay right winning proposals to win business bids and get government grants okay so obviously you're you know you're you're targeting very specific nature for people okay so let's see here let's see here let's see here let's see here let's see okay so let's see here let's see here let's see here let's see here let's see here group of people do you have an important proposal to write would you like to be certain it's a winner escape now from the stress of being unsure of yourself get the absolutely free proposal writing guide okay now what do you guys think could be changed or modified here the sooner you act the sooner you'll be writing winners don't delay act now get immediate help okay what do you got what do you guys think what do you guys think could be modified here just a little bit okay if you haven't if you haven't tested this one this version definitely test this version okay something else that I might consider or not not even consider something else that I that I would definitely split test this against okay is a is removing some noise from this okay see there's a Facebook there's a Twitter okay if your goal is not for them to get on Facebook from your landing page okay your goal is not for them to get distracted with what's going on on Twitter by clicking the Twitter right your goal is to what is to capture their email so you can follow up with them okay that's it folks if you can get that you know in your head landing page is designed to get the opt-in okay that's it another thing is let's see let's see let's see let's see let's see let's see this image look like it's clickable okay okay so another thing is I would definitely block this because it's not serving you when people see you see that how the little hand kind of shows up okay meaning it's clickable the the more the more stuff people can do okay see this is something else see there's a lot of distractions on here that can get people distracted see when they click on on the head on the banner here takes them to another looks like a sales page or something okay or a blog or something okay I would definitely not do that okay as far as the message I would also split test again something like this maybe and and I don't this is just you know this is not rehearsed or anything but just to give you kind of a direction okay be more direct with them without being salesy okay sometimes things like don't delay act now you know where do we see this we see this in on TV commercials right at now you know get immediate help all this kind of stuff sounds salesy to people which is okay right but I think if we if we just split how's different variations we can find that you know you can have a version that you just because can completely crush this one by not having some of this stuff on here okay I would I would try something like this may be okay so what you're doing is you're selling you given a play proposal writing guide K so what do they want so we're talking to business owners and people who want to get the government grants K I'm I would try something this don't even think about I'm let's see don't I'm I say something like don't even think about writing your next important proposal without reading this guy boom exclamation mark K you speak directly to them so somebody's thinking about writing a proposal K and you say I might even say stop like big red letters out say stop don't even think about writing your next important proposal before reading this guy K and I'll say you know something like you know whatever this guy is about I'm free guide you know get your free guide and learn how to right winning proposals to get business bids and government grants get your free copy by entering your email or or like or or let me let me know where you want your free copy to be set K boom and that's where you would point down to the opt-in box and get their name and get their email K I would I would try something like that K this stuff right here I'm I would I would remove K alright let's move on to this one okay so this person says let's see I they're saying they have a lot of visitors but no opt-ins K I'm I again I have no idea who submitted this page I don't know what your name is where you from what you're promoting um what do you guys think about this where you guys think about this actually carries K kick if you see why there is no opt-in here and it would put it through the filters 33 filters K that I discussed earlier number one is message in hook right number two is design and layout K so seeing the data to get your free copy layout.

And then number three is the unexplainable, the mystery, the stuff that you can't really explain, the feeling that you get when you see the website. What I see here is I think to me there is a violation on all three levels. So message and hook, in just four months, $5,000 to $35,000. There is just way too much space in between, $5,000 and $35,000.

Number one. Number two is this headline here. I cannot even read this on my computer. I don't know if it's my resolution.

What is this? It's really difficult to read. It's difficult for me to read this headline. Fully automated double real money within months.

Forex mutual trading was yesterday. I get a little bit confused when I read that. And I don't really know what it's all about. The whole design needs to be improved.

It needs to be built from scratch. I would suggest just crumble this and throw it away and create another variation. With a cleaner design, I don't think you need any of this stuff here. Keep it clean.

What is your core message? What would your prospect want? What's your ideal prospect? What are you promoting?

What do they want? What's the end result that they desire? And then speak to their core desire. I want to be very punchy.

I want to get your point across, especially on the landing page, with one or two sentences. But keep it clean. I don't think you need any of this stuff here. Keep it clean.

What is your core message? What would your prospect want? What's your ideal prospect? And those are the six key things you need, and you don't need to be sexist to fora the people.

So here's how you can create a business that is really easy to gone through. Wow, you're a top-جنيer. Ok, but that's right. That's how you can create a business in a stage where there's not a lot going on with your business and that's where you need to be.

Another key really is hit where the best satut Circulation is. Não. Third most important thing here is hitting where it matters most. The core desire, what they're really after.

Okay. I would definitely throw away the colors because it doesn't look businessy at all to me. This one I believe, this person here says that this page converts at about 7 percent. 7 percent.

OK? go from zero again put it through those three categories okay through those three filters message and hook design and layout all right and then the unexplainable the mystery okay so message and hook let's take a look at that from zero to over five thousand a month okay see why this system works even for total newbies and how you can put it to work for yourself starting today please enter your email to see the video series okay I think it's it sounds too generic I think it sounds too much of the same like everything else that's that they have already seen 5,000 times before especially if you're promoting this page with like solo ads and and places to where there's a lot of other people promoting similar type messages okay um um I don't know.

To me, it's not really compelling because what's in it for me? Why should I pay attention to this one instead of 4,999 other landing pages that's out there that have same messages? Make $5,000 a month. I'm not very clear.

Yeah, I want to make $5,000 per month but everybody's talking about that kind of stuff. How can you stand out? Here's the thing, if you can put yourself in your prospect's shoes, one thing that I do is I have a junk email. I have multiple junk emails and I just opt-in to a lot of …

I have been doing that for years. I just opt-in to people's lists with that junk email. I don't check it a lot. I just opt-in so that I can get bombarded with messages.

I think I'm getting, I don't know, 3,000-5,000 emails probably every single week to that email. Just random stuff, just marketing stuff. I don't mean random as in random just anything. I'm talking about marketing related stuff, internet marketing type stuff so that I can see what's going on in the industry.

When you see, from time to time, I go through that junk email and I just see what other marketers are promoting. Right? What opportunities they're promoting, how they're positioning themselves, how they're talking to the marketplace, what kind of solo ads they're running. When it's time for me to do a promotion or whatever, or if I wanted to create a campaign, I look at what everybody else is doing and I do the polar opposite.

What everybody else is doing right now is they're talking about stuff like this, from zero to 5,000 a month. I'll tell you, when we created our system. In the very beginning, when we joined Empower Network, we led with something similar, with a similar message. Now, over the last 15 months, that message got perpetuated.

It got spread around everywhere on the internet, especially with the traffic getting avenues that a lot of people go into, like solo ads, people going to and getting into other people's lists. Promoting webinars, people doing even PPV campaigns. I would stay away from a message that is being marketed by literally tens of thousands of people. I don't want to tell you exactly what your headline should be.

What I'm telling you, though, is step back from your business and look at your business from ten thousand feet above. Okay? Okay. Okay.

Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.

Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.

Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.

Okay. Okay. Okay. and do something that's different position yourself as different K I'm see why the system works even for complete newbies that's it that's a good that's a good a that's a good line read here and how you can put it to work for yourself starting today K this is okay I think was killing you here is this right here see if you can be a little bit more creative in that again split test and I think you should definitely what I i think what have whatever your next headline would be here I it should it should do better than then seven percent you getting right now because this is just way too generic K right let's take a look at this one here K I this one this person says that this page converted 86 percent but no conversions to sales can't see there's a video let's play the video hi my name's Amy Star Allen in over the last two years I've been able to create a five-figure monthly income 100 percent online all being a single mother working from home and never missing a beat my kids lives and what I want to do in this video is give you access to the five things that I just discovered to help me do this okay did you guys that the you guys did you guys catch that K I'm there will there was a second all uncertainty there rights I don't know if you guys could cut that maybe just me I'm I'm so crazy about stuff like that I'm and that I am you know the and X fix for that would be like a simple b-roll or something wanna start by telling you that it hasn't always been this way the I've been online entrepreneur for over nine years for the first seven of those years I could not figure out a way to make a significant income Internet matter fact I was struggling financially I could barely pay my bills my old car was constantly breaking down a lot and my old car was constantly breaking down a lot down a lot and my old car was constantly breaking down a lot a lot and my old car was constantly breaking down a lot and I had to keep borrowing money to fix it.

Myself and my daughters only shopped at thrift stores because that's all we could afford. And my kids were used to wearing clothes that they didn't even like because we had to buy things based on the way that they fit. And that's it. We never took vacations.

My kids couldn't participate in any activities, extracurricular activities. And fast forward just a couple of years later, and we now have a brand new fully loaded car. Okay. Just a quick tip now.

The delivery of the video is good. I like it. I like the energy. I like how you're presenting yourself here.

Okay. I think that's cool. What I would do if I were you seriously is I would try to, because the video, you know, it seems to me like it's probably about just over two minutes or so for the video. You know what would probably be cool is, is when you start talking about, hey, we just got, we were able to get a new fully loaded car, right?

And as you're talking about it, do another B-roll, right, of the vehicle that you got and flash it on the screen as a quick, you know, a few second B-roll of that car, okay, as you're talking over it. What it's going to do is a couple of things. Number one, it's proof and believability, right? Number two is it breaks their attention span again and kind of snaps them back to paying attention to the video.

Okay. My kids are able to participate in guitar lessons, soccer, and… You know, if you're cool, see, when you're talking about, hey, my kids are able to, you know, now able to participate in guitar lessons, you know, soccer, and all that good, cool stuff, fun stuff, right, that a lot of moms would love, you know, for, you know, to do what this person is doing. Again, if you don't mind, you know, putting a B-roll of the lifestyle, right, of the kids maybe having fun, running around, that could be a cool little thing that would give that extra, you know, layer of connection with people.

Camps and we're able to take vacations. Just last year, I was able to take my dad to Ireland for his 70th birthday. I went to Hawaii for 12 days. I just booked a week-long vacation for spring break with my kids where we're going to stay at a resort near Disney World for an…

Okay. So, yeah, otherwise, I mean, if it's converting at 86%, you don't, you know, stick with it. You know, as far as, you know, if you're not getting sales on the back end, then, you know, it has to do with your follow-up and your friends. Okay.

Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.

Okay. All right. Another page here. All right.

Keep your wallet in your pocket 100% free. You will make money or we will pay you $100. My goodness. My goodness.

I want to join this deal. Man, I want to join this deal because, you know what, I'm not going to do nothing. I'm going to make a ton of money, right? Or if I don't make money, I'm going to join for free and they'll pay me $100.

That's the kind of thing I'm going to do. That's the kind of impression I get. Again, I think I know what's being promoted here. Cool people behind that.

However, folks, however, right? Let me talk about it. Let me tell you something straight, folks. Okay.

Hold on. Okay. Let's take a pit stop here. All right.

You guys still with me? Quick check. Give me a quick why if you're still with me. Okay.

All right. All right. All right. All right.

All right. All right. All right. All right.

All right. All right. All right. All right.

All right. All right. All right. All right.

All right. All right. All right. Hold on.

Let's talk about this little thing called pre-framing. All right, guys. Listen. I don't… You guys purchased Internet Traffic Formula, right?

You're here. This is not public training. There's tons of opportunities out there. I don't care what you're promoting, okay?

I really don't. You can be promoting Empower Network. You can be promoting whatever the heck, other opportunities you're promoting out there. All… Okay.

Okay. It can be great. You can make money with everything. You can sell air and make money if you learn how to do that.

It doesn't matter. As long as it's legal, legit, as long as people get what they're buying, you're good. You can make money with anything that's out there that's legal and legit, folks. What's going to make or break your business a lot of times is this thing called pre-framing.

How people enter into your business, how people come through your front door of your business. What do they expect coming through the front door of your business? Do they expect that, you know what, I'm not going to have to do anything and if I don't make money, I'm not going to make money. They'll send me a hundred bucks.

If that's their expectation, guess who you're going to be. Think about the people that you're going to be attracting with this kind of message. Again, this is just my thoughts. Am I right?

I don't know. Probably not. But since you're on this call, you've got 825 people here listening to me, you took your time to get here and I've been doing this kind of stuff for nine years now, folks. I can share with you my perspective.

You do whatever you want with it. I'm not going to tell you that you're going to get rich by listening to me or you're not going to make any money. You can go either way. But when I'm building my business, I don't want to attract people who are at the lowest point in their life possible and they're just desperate.

The worst thing that you want to do for your business is to attract desperate people into your business. I personally think messages like that attract people who are just desperate. If you get those people to sign up, which you probably will, there's probably going to be a bunch of people signing up for messages like that, they're going to give you the most headaches in your business. They'll be complaining the most and they'll be refunding, charging back like crazy and they'll be just crying.

Your life is going to be miserable. Especially if you're not going to get rich. Especially if you have that connection with them as a leader. Pre-framing is very important.

I want people to understand that it is a business. Whether you do it in your marketing, a lot of times when I do a promotion, a lot of times I would get people to opt in, not promising them that you're going to make money or I'm going to pay you money. I don't want that. But as soon as they enter my funnel, I want to make sure that they understand we have clear expectations of how this thing works and what really needs to be done and how people make money.

A lot of times people will appreciate that, just being totally honest. Let's go back to that page real quick. Start screen sharing here. I know what you're promoting here.

This is what everybody else is promoting. I'm not sure how well it's converting for you. It's probably well if you were the first one to promote a message like that. But because there are literally thousands and thousands of people promoting similar messages out there on the internet, you need to start doing something that's the opposite of what everybody is doing out there.

Because this kind of stuff is what everybody is pushing. It's going to work for a very, very short period of time because they're going to attract all the desperate people, the most desperate people you can ever find. And then it's just going to stop working for everybody. And you need to position yourself, you need to get out from this angle of marketing as soon as possible.

If I were you, I would do everything to get myself out of this angle and just start marching in a different direction. You can still promote whatever the thing that's behind this, but start positioning yourself differently because you will attract people. People will do business with you and you can potentially crush everybody else just because you're going to be positioned differently. That's all I'm going to say with that.

Take a look at this one. I believe this person said that this page is converting at about 20%, which is about average. First impression. Let's kind of run it through the three categories, the three filters.

Message and hook. Design and layout. Well, a lot of times, design and layout is the first thing that kind of jumps at you. I think this page could be improved by just changing in just design on it.

This design is okay, but it looks like, it reminds me of like 19 or like 2000, 2002 type stuff. I don't know. Is it just me or what? But I think the design can be improved.

It can be improved on this. A blog took me from having big fat zero in my bank account to positioning myself to have thousands deposited every month. Results not typical. Now I'm showing exactly how it's possible for you.

Okay. A blog took me from having a big fat zero in my bank account. Again, guys, I'm just kind of thinking out loud here. Bear with me.

We've got a lot of people on here, but this is, I mean, I'm just literally going through this stuff live with you guys because there's just, you know, a lot, I mean, to have thousands of every month. Okay. First thing I would change, I mean, the headline is not terribly bad. I mean, I think that can be improved, polished a little bit, you know, perhaps modified.

But the first thing I would do is see how this opt-in here is below. Below the fold. Okay. Below the fold, see how, this is how the page looks like.

Okay. Now when you look at my screen, I don't see an opt-in. Right. I see the arrow which is good.

Okay. Subtle arrows is a good thing. But I have to scroll down to opt-in. Okay.

Any time when people need to scroll down to opt-in, you will lose on conversions. Okay. You will decrease your conversions. Okay.

Okay. Okay. So I would put the box up higher. I would maybe put the video on the side and have the box be on the right here.

So everything is above the fold. So people don't need to scroll down to opt-in. Okay. That's the first thing I would do and split test that version against this one.

And you will probably increase your conversions by at least 5%. Okay. So you can go from like 20, 25% to like 30%. And then what I would do is I would play with the message just a little bit.

Okay. See how it says results not typical here. This looks a little immature-ish to me. Okay.

Usually, you know, you can put a star next to the headline, right? Just put a star to it or an extract and then bring your disclosures on the bottom here, right? Put an extract next to the disclosure statement and then you can say results not typical, see income disclosure, blah, blah, blah here. You know, that way it's not because this to me looks like this is out of line and this is like, you know, a broken image or something like that.

You know, maybe it's a text inside of, I don't know, it doesn't look professional to me. Okay. That is what I would do, my friend, my friend. Okay.

Information will only be sent to the email provided. I like how you just emphasized only. Information will only be sent to the email provided. Okay.

You know, sometimes when you're being way too pushy with people, especially if they don't know you, you know, they just, this is a first contact with you, with your stuff. I don't like to be pushy. Okay. Okay.

Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.

I'm not going to be, you know, very pushy or too aggressive with people. I will just maybe remove the only, I'll just keep it, the information will be sent to the email provided, you know, something like that. That might, again, just remember, they don't know you. You might have the cure for cancer, right?

And you might be the most aggressive marketer ever. But if they don't resonate with you on that first site, right, and that first contact, if they don't feel like, you know, what, you know, if they don't feel good about, like when they get on your site. like how do they feel about this really what kind of energy does your site you know and again I don't want to get too too too too too too crazy here but it honestly I'm just looking at yeah you know what what kind of what kind of feeling you know that you get when you visit somebody somebody's website there is I mean every single page you visit there is there's a certain feeling you get that's behind the website you know whether it's always just another one whether it's well this person sounds a little bit desperate or hey this guy is cool right he's he's laid back and I want to do business and I want to check him out you know you want to be a marketer that comes across as you know what I don't really you know this this this cool laid-back right I mean you've got something that's awesome and you know it right and you don't really care whether they get it or not you see what I'm saying I know that can be tricky in the beginning but if you can get yourself to that state when you're marketing all right you know you've got something that's awesome but you cannot make them want it right you cannot force them is what I mean to say you cannot force them right you you want to you want to be you want to position yourself as this is this magnet right so that you attract people to you without going out there and being obnoxious about it or or just going out there and saying hey you know you got to do this now otherwise you know whatever right all right another one here let's see I think this one this person if I'm not mistaken I don't recall the uh the the message in this one but I think this one was hey I'm getting a bunch of visitors but I'm not getting any conversions on this okay so let's take a look again three filters okay message design and and the unexplainable the mysterious stuff design I think the design can be improved just a little bit I because I think the the background picture is I'm a small size picture I think you need a higher resolution it's it's it's a low resolution picture like on my computer here I'm if you guys can see this I but its it's it's a low it's a very low resolution K I'm and that's not a cool thing when you you know that's not a cool thing to have a new rapper I'm gonna show you in a minute here how you can how you can now you know fix that really really easy next thing is our message okay struggling to save money on your house purchase struggling week when you guys like tell me honestly tell me in the comments when you read this okay let's let's take it let's break this down by by by sentence K struggling to save money on your house purchase struggling to save my make right away I don't know why but we're maybe just me right away struggling to save money on your on your house purchase this this this kinda it is fries my brain a little bit I don't I don't get this I need to read it a couple times we to really understand it on discover how you can actually save thousands of dollars with this new way to buy a house I think the message is not cut I think the message is a little bit confusing to me at least K I don't know about you know I'm a you guys, but I think the message is confusing the heck out of the visitor here.

I don't know what exactly do you mean here. Discover how you can actually save thousands of dollars with this new way to buy a house. So I can save thousands of dollars to buy a house anywhere in Texas. So first of all, if you're advertising just in Texas, I hope that you're targeting your campaign so that you don't run ads in Chicago and you don't run ads in California.

You should only be advertising if what you're doing is just for Texas only, you should be running ads only in Texas. So I think the headline definitely needs to be angled a little bit differently. And then as far as okay, so get 100% free information into your name and email below. Okay that's all cool.

Do a click. There's a clear headline on this, definitely clear headline. Okay here's another page that is not converting well and this person is asking for feedback. So first things first, you guys see the low resolution background images.

Let me show you how to fix that first. You go to Google. And you search for whatever background you want. Okay so this one is beach, water, ocean, tropical, ocean.

Just search for whatever. You go to images. Okay click on images. Okay and here you'll have a bunch of pictures here as you can see, right?

Tons. Tons of pictures that you can use for backgrounds. So what you can do is just a couple things. That's okay.

Number one. You can use images that are royalty free and you're not taking something that you cannot take. That makes sense? So there's a bunch of royalty free images here.

But what you do here is go to search tools, okay? And then I go to size, right? Size. And see how it's by default is going to have any size, right?

I want for a landing page background image, I want that image to be larger than 4 MP. Okay? Four megapixels. So 2272 by 1704.

The larger the size, the better. Now you can also, you know, you can live with 1600 by 1200, larger than 1600 by 1200. I want my images to be very high resolution, okay? You don't want them to, you know, you don't want to go too crazy.

But I would stay, you know, four megapixels is probably good enough. So I would just select that, okay? And then I would go more tools, show sizes. And here you can see the image size, okay?

So what you can do is if you click on the image, okay, you click on it again to open it and see if you can, see if you can download it. See how it opens up and it kind of goes, I have to scroll left and right to kind of see the whole image entirely? That's a good, that's a high resolution image. So now when I save it, it's going to get compressed and it's going to get displayed on my screen, alright, to fit my screen.

And what it's going to do is it will position it perfectly, you know, at a perfect resolution for my screen. So I don't, I don't, I don't have, I wouldn't have this kind of stuff going on, okay? So all you need to do is just get a, you know, find a better resolution, high resolution image and that will fix your problem. Just reupload your background image and you're good.

Hopefully that makes sense. Let's see here. And if you're talking about house here, right, I would, you know, I would, I would do a picture of some kind of maybe, maybe even real estate. You know, if you're targeting people that want to, like their ultimate, like what's their desire, right?

What do they want to do? What's their core desire? Well, they want to save money, you know, and they want to move into a house, right? You know, so chances are that a lot of these folks will probably be first time home owners, right?

First time home buyers. So maybe I would, I would put, find a picture of like a family, right? First time home buyer couple standing next to a house and with like a happy face or something like that. You know what I mean?

And they're just, you know, first time home buyers. I mean, you can't really fake, you know, that feeling, right? And just kind of attach that to the message because I think this picture is a little bit, not a little bit, I mean it's out of line with the core message here because here you're talking about buying a house in Texas. Okay.

And, you know, and you're showing like a, you know, a paradise beach which really has nothing to do with buying houses. Okay. All right. Split test again.

So let's move on to this one. All right. First of all, see, there's a lot of space here at the top. Okay.

A lot of space at the top. I would move this box up higher. Okay. Again, talked about the background image here.

Use this proven system to create wealth. Most people struggle because they don't have a simple system of results to follow. Good news. Today, you can access, you can get access to that exact system that has literally set thousands of families free.

Okay. That's an okay message. Okay. That's an okay message.

I would split test it against something like breaking news. New system. Literally set thousands of families free. You can be next.

Find out how. Boom. Okay. Enter your name.

Something to that effect. If you want to be that generic, but again, this type of message is not like, hey, go from zero to 5,000 in two seconds. You know what everybody is saying out there? This message is a little bit different.

It's got a little bit of different vibe to it, which is cool. Okay. I would split test it just to make it a little bit shorter and speak directly to them. Again, you know, you're talking about good news.

Okay. news here today you can get access to that exact system that literally set you know I like this line right here exact system that has literally set thousands of families I like the word family here as you know if you if you promoting to to folks you know that have families this will be attractive and this is something different cannot a lot of marketers talk about families anymore which is good I'm can just make it make it shorter and you shall be okay alright this next one here I'm how to earn tons of money at home online the answer is in the palm of our hand and your best email I think this this page converted if I'm not mistaken about average I'm and your best email address to receive this free video and join our mailing list this right here I'm gonna tell you right away is killing you join our mailing list they have no idea who you are they have no idea what you gonna send them they don't want to join your mailing list okay I think this is killing you right here if if if anything this is this is a killer right in a bad way I'm that this this is not very clear this is very generic I would I would I would be more I would clarify my message a little bit more I'm split past okay split past but I would definitely remove this right here and join our mailing list again people don't want to join anything you know and and remove that I mean I I know where you created this page and and you know the the the the background everything can be okay I'm even a message I think it's it's okay at you know can definitely be improved but remove this and you'll see a nice jump your conversions rate alright him we're gonna do guys is Tom is this is this Has it been helpful for you guys a little bit?

Do you see, again, I want to make sure you guys understand this. When you're creating your landing pages, when you're creating your, even your marketing, even your campaigns, three categories. Message, your hook, number two is your design, your layout, how your thing is laid out. With a lot of the landing page creators out there nowadays, design part should not be an issue for you.

There's a lot of stuff you can just use, a lot of templates that's available to you. Think about the message and hook. Put yourself in that prospect's shoes and ask yourself, if I did not know what's behind that page, would I opt in to my own landing page? If you said no, don't promote it.

And then number three is that unexplainable. Whatever frame of mind that you're in when you're creating that is exactly what you're going to be transferring. Okay guys, good lesson? You guys got it?

Okay, cool, cool, cool. Very helpful. That's good to know. Okay, here's what we're going to do next week, folks.

We are going to, we're going to be talking about marketing next week. So we're going to be talking about traffic, getting techniques and tips and all the good stuff. Okay, on our next coaching call. I might have a guest with me.

Maybe not, we'll see. And then we're getting to the point to where, you know, you're getting to the point to where, you know, we're, you know, in the final stages, you know, what we have. There's traffic intelligence, which is really, really, really awesome stuff. There is the traffic amplifier, really, really, really awesome stuff.

You'll be learning, okay, next week. And then we have the conversion mastery, okay, which is some of the stuff that, you know, I haven't talked about yet, but you're going to learn a lot. Okay? So if you're enjoying this type of stuff, folks, getting traffic is one thing, understanding what to do with the traffic is another thing, okay?

See this business as, you know what, don't overcomplicate it. You know, the feedback that I kind of gave to you guys, again, I don't know you, I don't, you know, nothing personal, whatever, I'm just, you know, and, you know, and you don't even have to listen to me if you don't want to, you know, I don't really care. I just, you know, I was just thinking out loud. But.

But my intention is, is really my desire is for you to, to learn this, okay? And sometimes, you know, sometimes we learn by doing something wrong and then learning from our, from our mistakes. Does that make sense? Sometimes we run a campaign and it bombs and then we say, you know what, why did it bomb?

Let me dissect that. You know, a lot of people get discouraged and they say, well, I'm never going to do that again. Okay? And those people, typically they'll fail over and over and over and over again in their lives.

Okay? I want you to be a person who is going to say, you know what, whatever you do, all right, as a marketer, when you run a campaign and it bombs on you or whatever, right? You step back before reacting, okay, right away. You step back and you say, why did it bomb, okay?

What could I do differently? Okay? And you try something different. You get up, okay?

And you try something different. You get up again and you try something different. Guys, when you, when you have that approach, when you have that attitude towards building your business. You build an unbelievable business.

Why? Because not everybody's going to do that. Okay? Everybody, everybody wants a quick fix, you know, microwave results.

You know what, I'm going to run this and if I don't make a million bucks tomorrow, heck, if I don't make 10,000 bucks tomorrow because my mortgage is due, I'm just going to call this a scam and move on to something else, okay? That person is going to go from failure to failure to failure, not knowing why they're failing and blaming everybody and everything for their lack of success, okay? People who, you know, like that boxer, right, he gets in the ring and he's just starting out and you know what? He gets knocked, right, one time, second time, third time, but you know what?

He has a desire. He's like, yeah, I'm going to be great, right? I'm going to do this thing. I'm going to be the best boxer in the world, right?

I'm going to be the best at what I do. As a marketer, you're going to say, you know what? I'm going to be the best marketer that I can possibly be. You know what?

I'm going to create this thing. I'm going to make this work. I'm going to make this work, right? And you stay in the game long enough.

You learn long enough. You implement long enough, right? You'll be successful beyond your wildest dreams. I appreciate you.

I look forward to seeing you on the next call, in the next module. I'll just say this, never give up. Go pursue your dream, guys. You can do it.

See you next time. Bye.

I wouldn't delete the original one. I would just, you know, do another variation of it, and just to see how it goes for you. This game is split testing, tweaking, and tracking your results, you know, as much as on the ongoing basis, really. So, take a look at this page, okay?

So, first thing, here is what I'm thinking, okay, guys? When I look at this business of landing pages, okay, here is, if we were to boil everything down, okay, with this business of landing pages, and the whole thing like conversions, okay? We can boil this down to three different categories, and I want you to be aware of them, because I think it's going to be important for you as a marketer to understand, you know, moving into the future, and building your business, you know, as a career, right? Turning this into a career.

And let me tell you something. If you're not building this business with an intention of, you know what, this is going to be my career, this is what I want to do, you know, you know, yeah, you can play with it, whatever, right? And that's cool. You know, whatever your goals are, you know, that's totally up to you, you know, you may be doing this as a side, you know, gig, you know, hobby, or something just to play around with, you know, and that's okay, you know, but if you're somebody like myself, for example, you know, when I, in 2005, when I decided to really take things, and just really take control of my life in a way that, you know what, I want to provide the best for my family, the best for myself, and I want to do it online, I want to work from home, right?

I want to literally become the best at what I do, and I want to turn this into a lifelong, long career for myself, something that I would enjoy, right? That was kind of my intention when I was getting started, and so for me, you know, this is everything, you know, online marketing, this whole, you know, business building, this testing and doing what I'm doing, what you're doing, I mean, this is what I do for business, okay, that's it, alright? So when I approach it like that, okay, there is three things you need to understand when it comes to landing pages, especially.

So there's three main categories that all the kind of critiques or feedback is going to fall into, okay? Number one category is going to be your message, okay? Your message or your hook, okay, same thing. So the message can be, you know, if the message is not compelling enough, okay, we can have the most awesome looking graphic, okay, it's not going to convert as well as we want to do, okay?

Thing number one is message and hook, okay? Now, thing number two or category number two is design and layout. Okay, design and layout, well, what do I mean by that? Well, you can have the most powerful, the most influential message ever that anybody can write on the planet, okay? But if your design of the landing page, of what people see, their first impression of it, if that's crappy, okay, nobody's ever going to read your message or maybe if your message is below the fold or something crazy like that, you see what I'm saying, okay?

So it's important, just be conscious of it when you're building this kind of stuff. And then category number three, can anybody guess what that would be? Can you guys guess what category number three might be? Well, category number three is this, check this out, okay? What if you have the most compelling message, like if you know, look, you can be the most talented copywriter in the world, right?

You know, you can be the Dan Kennedy of the world, you can be the Frank Kern of the world, you can be the most genius copywriter ever, right? And you can have the most awesome design ever. But have you ever felt? Have you ever landed on the landing page or on the opt-in page and it looked great, okay? It had all the components that it needed to have and the message was kind of compelling to you but, you know, something deep down of you said, you know what, I don't know, man, maybe next time, you know, not now, you know, maybe I'll come back to it or whatever, or something got your attention and you kind of like got distracted or whatever, right?

Something what I call the unexplainable, okay? That's category number three. And the reason I wanted to kind of talk to you about this is because, guys, look, I don't believe in these, you know, weird stuff, you know. Justin Varenges, he's probably the dude who's going to be more into that, you know, universal, all that stuff, right? Which is cool but, you know what, one thing that I see over and over and over again and this has been proven like beyond the shadow of a doubt is that there is a category that your business can fall into.

Especially your rep or especially your first impression of your business, which is your landing page, okay, to where it's a mystery, okay? I have no idea. You know, I have been in sales. I was selling insurance, you know, for a short period of time and, you know, I've rolled with, you know, some of the most well-trained sales people in the industry, okay, certainly in that particular company. And I just kind of sat down in the beginning and listened to their presentations and sometimes, right, I mean, all their presentations were the same, okay?

It was pretty much scripted, okay? They said the exact same thing over and over and over again but what I noticed is that sometimes the person would deliver the presentation and they would get sales like that, okay, very, very easily, okay? And sometimes they would deliver the same exact presentation, okay, and people would say, well, you know what? Everything makes sense but I got to think about it, okay, and think about it meaning, you know, basically no. You know what I mean?

When you're in sales, you know that, right? Same thing happens online, okay? Same thing happens online, same thing happens on the phone. What is the difference? Well, it's a mystery and the best definition I could find or the best definition I could come up with myself for that is, you know what?

So here's my honest feedback right away. Boom. When I see this, I kind of filter this through those three categories because really that's, that's, you know, your landing page is going to fall into one of the three categories, okay? You know, the three checkpoints if you, you know, so to speak, message, design and, you know, your feeling, how you, you know, do you want to take action?

Does it kind of pull you in, right? What kind of, I mean, it's that whole energy that's kind of behind the page and I think it has to do with that. It has to do with the person creating it when they created it. So the first thing that I see here is the message. Okay, the first thing, boom.

The headline is a little bit monotone, okay? Let me explain what I mean by that. When I look at this first, okay, I see it's a little bit long headline for this particular box, okay?

Why? Because this sort of stuff would be new back in 2005. Today, everybody's saying, well, this is a good thing. This is a good thing.

This is good. This is a good thing. This is a very good thing. So everybody's seeing these types of messages.

Secret system makes $1,763. That kind of stuff. Right away, I think that creates a little bit of a, you know what, I've already seen that type of response from people. Into your bank account on autopilot. This could be, you know, this is a borderline hypey statement.

Right? They want to have, but you say, well, what do they not want? Or what are they sick and tired of? So I would position that into a headline, okay, and do a B version of it and split test it against this one and see how it goes, okay? Everything else looks pretty good, your information 100% secure with us, you will never sell, rent, or anything, okay, details, okay.

So, this converting at 18 percent which is just below the industry average, industry average which is about 20, 25 percent, so I would definitely tweak the headline for sure, create maybe like three different variations. But that's okay, alright. Here's another one, this one is converting at 38 percent, according to the person who sent it. First impression is it looks pretty clean, okay, which is cool. And definitely this is a new thing, you don't see a lot of the landing pages with the video looping in the background.

That's a good thing. I do wonder though how it works with slower connections, you know, I don't know, it could be fine, it could not be. I would definitely split test this one, okay, if it's converting at 38 percent this is above industry average. "This one thing took me from flat broke and hopeless to being able to make over three hundred and eighty six dollars per day on the side while still working a full-time job and you can model it now." I would split test this if it's converting at 38 percent, this is good.

Another thing to consider is what kind of traffic you're sending this to. If it's generic traffic, if you're sending traffic to people who work at jobs, then this would be a good compelling message to them because, you know, somebody who has a job, somebody who just hates to work for somebody, right, and they're looking at this and they see that, well, you're making three hundred eighty six dollars per day on the side while still working a full-time job, why in the world would you still work a full-time job if you're making three hundred eighty six bucks a day? So there could be a little bit of a conflicting message in how people interpret it, okay.

So I would definitely split test this one against a couple things. I will create the same variation with a still background, okay, just to see if that's going to make a difference. It might or it might not, I don't know, okay, but I would split test that. And then another variation I would do is I would split test this variation and the one with a still background against a slightly modified headline. This one thing to be from flat broke and hopeless, okay, that's a good start because a lot of people are flat broke and a lot of people are hopeless to being able to make over three hundred eighty six dollars per day on the side.

I would say something like, you know, this one thing to be from flat broke and hopeless to earning up to three hundred eighty six dollars per day, and you can model this starting in the next 24 to 48 hours. I don't know what you're really promoting behind this, but something in that regard, okay, see if that's going to give you a nice bump in there, okay. Now make sure that when you say something about numbers or you disclose or you talk about specific income, that you refer them to your income disclosure right after they opt in, you know, make sure that you cover that. Just make sure that it's clear that, you know, you're not guaranteeing that they'll make three hundred eighty six dollars per day, and if you have never made three hundred eighty six dollars per day, I would not put something that you cannot verify, okay, just be on the lookout for that.

Otherwise I think this page is on the right track. I think you can definitely be bumped up to, you know, another ten, fifteen, maybe even twenty points just by split testing, okay. You're definitely on the right track. I like how the center kind of pops with the white background here, looks pretty cool.

All right, here's another one. Let's see here, this one, okay, it's a proposal writing guide and I believe this person said that this is a new landing page that they just created and they don't know how well it converts yet, okay. So let's see if we can give him some feedback. Now I personally think this page can do okay depending on what kind of people you put it in front of, okay. So if you put it in front of like business people, okay, it would probably do okay, right.

"Winning proposals to win business bids and get government grants," okay, so obviously you're targeting a very specific type of people, okay. So let's see here. "Do you have an important proposal to write? Would you like to be certain it's a winner? Escape now from the stress of being unsure of yourself. Get the absolutely free proposal writing guide." Okay, now what do you guys think could be changed or modified here? "The sooner you act the sooner you'll be writing winners. Don't delay, act now, get immediate help."

Okay, what do you guys think could be modified here just a little bit? Okay, if you haven't tested this one, this version, definitely test this version, okay. Something else that I would definitely split test this against, okay, is removing some noise from this, okay. See, there's a Facebook, there's a Twitter, okay. If your goal is not for them to get on Facebook from your landing page, okay, your goal is not for them to get distracted with what's going on Twitter by clicking the Twitter, right, your goal is to capture their email so you can follow up with them, okay, that's it, folks.

If you can get that in your head, landing page is designed to get the opt-in, okay, that's it. Another thing, let's see, this image looks like it's clickable, okay. So another thing is I would definitely block this because it's not serving you when people see, you see how the little hand kind of shows up, okay, meaning it's clickable, the more stuff people can do, okay, see, this is something else. There's a lot of distractions on here that can get people distracted. See, when they click on the banner here it takes them to another looks like a sales page or something, okay, or a blog or something, okay, I would definitely not do that.

As far as the message, I would also split test again something like this, maybe, and I don't, this is just, you know, this is not rehearsed or anything, but just to give you kind of a direction, okay. Be more direct with them without being salesy, okay. Sometimes things like "don't delay, act now," you know, where do we see this? We see this on TV commercials, right, "act now," you know, "get immediate help," all this kind of stuff sounds salesy to people, which is okay, right, but I think if we just split test different variations we can find that, you know, you can have a version that just crushes this one by not having some of this stuff on here, okay.

I would try something like this, maybe, okay. So what you're doing is you're selling a proposal writing guide, okay, so what do they want, so we're talking to business owners and people who want to get government grants, okay. I would try something like, don't even think about, let's see, I would say something like, "Don't even think about writing your next important proposal without reading this," boom, exclamation mark, okay, you speak directly to them, so somebody's thinking about writing a proposal, okay, and you say, I might even say "Stop," like big red letters, say "Stop, don't even think about writing your next important proposal before reading this," okay. And I'd say, you know, something like, whatever this guide is about, "Free guide, get your free guide and learn how to write winning proposals to get business bids and government grants, get your free copy," by entering your email, or "let me know where you want your free copy to be sent," okay, boom, and that's where you would point down to the opt-in box and get their name and get their email, okay. I would try something like that, okay, this stuff right here I would remove, okay.

Alright, let's move on to this one, okay. So this person says, let's see, they're saying they have a lot of visitors but no opt-ins, okay. Again, I have no idea who submitted this page, I don't know what your name is, where you're from, what you're promoting. What do you guys think about this? Why do you guys think there is no opt-in here?

Let's put it through the filters, okay, three filters, that I discussed earlier: number one is message and hook, right, number two is design and layout, okay, and the "get your free copy" layout. And then number three is the unexplainable, the mystery, the stuff that you can't really explain, the feeling that you get when you see the website. What I see here is I think to me there is a violation on all three levels. So message and hook, "in just four months, $5,000 to $35,000."

There is just way too much space in between $5,000 and $35,000. Number one. Number two is this headline here. I cannot even read this on my computer. I don't know if it's my resolution.

What is this? It's really difficult to read. It's difficult for me to read this headline. "Fully automated, double real money within months, forex mutual trading was yesterday."

I get a little bit confused when I read that. And I don't really know what it's all about. The whole design needs to be improved. It needs to be built from scratch. I would suggest just scrap this and throw it away and create another variation.

Those are the key things you need to understand, and you don't need to be flashy to reach people. So here's how you can create a business that is really easy to go through.

Okay, but that's right. That's how you can create a business at a stage where there's not a lot going on with your business, and that's where you need to be. Another key really is hitting where the message resonates most. Third, most important thing here is hitting where it matters most.

The core desire, what they're really after. Okay. I would definitely throw away the colors because it doesn't look businessy at all to me. This one, I believe this person here says that this page converts at about 7 percent. 7 percent.

Okay, go from zero, again, put it through those three categories, okay, through those three filters: message and hook, design and layout, and then the unexplainable, the mystery, okay. So message and hook, let's take a look at that: "from zero to over five thousand a month, see why this system works even for total newbies and how you can put it to work for yourself starting today, please enter your email to see the video series." Okay, I think it sounds too generic, I think it sounds too much like everything else that they have already seen 5,000 times before, especially if you're promoting this page with like solo ads and places where there's a lot of other people promoting similar type messages, okay. I don't know. To me it's not really compelling because what's in it for me? Why should I pay attention to this one instead of 4,999 other landing pages that are out there with the same messages? I'm not very clear.

How can you stand out? Here's the thing, if you can put yourself in your prospect's shoes, one thing that I do is I have a junk email. I have multiple junk emails and I just opt in to a lot of things. I have been doing that for years. I just opt in to people's lists with that junk email.

I don't check it a lot. I just opt in so that I can get bombarded with messages. I think I'm getting, I don't know, 3,000-5,000 emails probably every single week to that email. Just random stuff, just marketing stuff. I don't mean random as in random, just anything.

I'm talking about marketing-related stuff, internet marketing type stuff, so that I can see what's going on in the industry. From time to time, I go through that junk email and I just see what other marketers are promoting. Right? What opportunities they're promoting, how they're positioning themselves, how they're talking to the marketplace, what kind of solo ads they're running. When it's time for me to do a promotion or whatever, or if I want to create a campaign, I look at what everybody else is doing and I do the polar opposite.

I'll tell you, when we created our system, in the very beginning, when we joined Empower Network, we led with something similar, with a similar message. Now, over the last 15 months, that message got perpetuated. It got spread around everywhere on the internet, especially with the traffic-getting avenues that a lot of people go into, like solo ads, people going and getting into other people's lists, promoting webinars, people doing even PPV campaigns.

I would stay away from a message that is being marketed by literally tens of thousands of people. I don't want to tell you exactly what your headline should be. What I'm telling you, though, is step back from your business and look at your business from ten thousand feet above. Okay? Okay.

And do something that's different, position yourself as different, okay. See why the system works even for complete newbies, that's it, that's a good line right here, and how you can put it to work for yourself starting today, okay, this is okay, I think what was killing you here is this right here, see if you can be a little bit more creative there. Again, split test, and I think whatever your next headline would be here, it should do better than the seven percent you're getting right now because this is just way too generic, okay.

Let's take a look at this one here, okay. This person says that this page converted 86 percent but no conversions to sales. Let's see, there's a video, let's play the video. "Hi, my name's Amy, and over the last two years I've been able to create a five-figure monthly income, 100 percent online, all while being a single mother working from home and never missing a beat in my kids' lives, and what I want to do in this video is give you access to the five things that I just discovered to help me do this." Okay, did you guys catch that?

There was a second of uncertainty there, right? I don't know if you guys could catch that, maybe it's just me, I'm so particular about stuff like that. A quick fix for that would be a simple b-roll or something. "I want to start by telling you that it hasn't always been this way. I've been an online entrepreneur for over nine years, for the first seven of those years I could not figure out a way to make a significant income online. In fact, I was struggling financially. I could barely pay my bills, my old car was constantly breaking down and I had to keep borrowing money to fix it. Myself and my daughters only shopped at thrift stores because that's all we could afford, and my kids were used to wearing clothes that they didn't even like because we had to buy things based on the way that they fit. We never took vacations."

My kids couldn't participate in any extracurricular activities. "And fast forward just a couple of years later, and we now have a brand new fully loaded car." Okay, just a quick tip now. The delivery of the video is good.

I like it. I like the energy. I like how you're presenting yourself here. Okay. I think that's cool.

What I would do if I were you, seriously, is I would try, because the video seems to me like it's probably about just over two minutes or so, you know what would probably be cool is when you start talking about, hey, we just got, we were able to get a new fully loaded car, right, and as you're talking about it, do another B-roll of the vehicle that you got and flash it on the screen as a quick, you know, few second B-roll of that car, okay, as you're talking over it. What it's going to do is a couple of things: number one, it's proof and believability, right.

Number two, it breaks their attention span again and kind of snaps them back to paying attention to the video. Okay. "My kids are able to participate in guitar lessons, soccer, and..." You know, if you're cool, see, when you're talking about, hey, my kids are able to now participate in guitar lessons, soccer, and all that good, cool, fun stuff that a lot of moms would love to do, what this person is doing, again, if you don't mind putting a B-roll of the lifestyle, of the kids maybe having fun, running around, that could be a cool little thing that would give that extra layer of connection with people.

"Camps, and we're able to take vacations. Just last year, I was able to take my dad to Ireland for his 70th birthday. I went to Hawaii for 12 days. I just booked a week-long vacation for spring break with my kids where we're going to stay at a resort near Disney World..." Okay.

So, yeah, otherwise, I mean, if it's converting at 86%, stick with it. As far as if you're not getting sales on the back end, then it has to do with your follow-up and your funnel. Okay. All right.

Another page here. All right. "Keep your wallet in your pocket, 100% free." My goodness. My goodness.

I want to join this deal. Man, I want to join this deal because, you know what, I'm not going to do nothing and I'm going to make a ton of money, right? That's the kind of thing I'm going to do. That's the kind of impression I get.

Again, I think I know what's being promoted here. Cool people behind that. However, folks, however, right? Let me talk about it. Let me tell you something straight, folks.

Okay. Hold on. Okay. Let's take a pit stop here. All right.

You guys still with me? Quick check. Give me a quick why if you're still with me. Okay. All right.

All right. Hold on. Let's talk about this little thing called pre-framing. All right, guys. Listen.

I don't... You guys purchased Internet Traffic Formula, right? You're here. This is not public training. There's tons of opportunities out there. I don't care what you're promoting, okay?

I really don't. You can be promoting Empower Network. You can be promoting whatever the heck other opportunities you're promoting out there. Okay.

Do they expect that, you know what, I'm not going to have to do anything and if I don't make money, I'm not going to make money?

They'll send me a hundred bucks. If that's their expectation, guess who you're going to attract.

I think this page could be improved by just changing the design on it. This design is okay, but it looks like, it reminds me of like 2000, 2002 type stuff.

I don't know. Is it just me or what? But I think the design can be improved. "A blog took me from having a big fat zero in my bank account to positioning myself to have thousands deposited every month."

"Results not typical. Now I'm showing exactly how it's possible for you." Okay. "A blog took me from having a big fat zero in my bank account." Again, guys, I'm just kind of thinking out loud here.

Bear with me. We've got a lot of people on here, but I'm just literally going through this stuff live with you guys because there's just a lot, I mean, "to have thousands of every month." Okay. First thing I would change, I mean, the headline is not terribly bad. I mean, I think that can be improved, polished a little bit, you know, perhaps modified.

But the first thing I would do is, see how this opt-in here is below, below the fold. Okay. Below the fold, see how this is how the page looks like. Okay.

Now when you look at my screen, I don't see an opt-in. Right. I see the arrow which is good. Okay. Subtle arrows are a good thing.

But I have to scroll down to opt in. Okay. Any time when people need to scroll down to opt in, you will lose on conversions. Okay. You will decrease your conversions.

Okay. So I would put the box up higher. I would maybe put the video on the side and have the box be on the right here. So everything is above the fold.

So people don't need to scroll down to opt in. Okay. That's the first thing I would do and split test that version against this one. And you will probably increase your conversions by at least 5%. Okay.

So you can go from like 20, 25% to like 30%. And then what I would do is I would play with the message just a little bit. Okay. See how it says "results not typical" here. This looks a little immature to me.

Okay. Usually you can put a star next to the headline, right? Just put a star or an asterisk and then bring your disclosures on the bottom here, right? Put an asterisk next to the disclosure statement and then you can say "results not typical, see income disclosure, blah, blah, blah" here. You know, that way, because this to me looks like it's out of line and it's like, you know, a broken image or something like that.

You know, maybe it's a text inside of, I don't know, it doesn't look professional to me. Okay. That is what I would do, my friend. Okay. "Information will only be sent to the email provided."

I like how you just emphasized "only." "Information will only be sent to the email provided." Okay. You know, sometimes when you're being way too pushy with people, especially if they don't know you, you know, this is a first contact with you, with your stuff, I don't like to be pushy.

Okay. I'm not going to be, you know, very pushy or too aggressive with people. I will just maybe remove the "only," I'll just keep it, "the information will be sent to the email provided," you know, something like that. That might, again, just remember, they don't know you.

You might have the cure for cancer, right? And you might be the most aggressive marketer ever. But if they don't resonate with you on that first sight, right, and that first contact, if they don't feel good about, like, when they get on your site, how do they feel about this, really, what kind of energy does your site give? And again, I don't want to get too crazy here, but honestly, you know, what kind of feeling do you get when you visit somebody's website? Every single page you visit, there's a certain feeling you get that's behind the website, you know, whether it's, "ah, just another one," whether it's, "well, this person sounds a little bit desperate," or, "hey, this guy is cool, right, he's laid back and I want to do business and I want to check him out." You want to be a marketer that comes across as, you know, "I don't really care, this is cool, laid-back," right, I mean, you've got something that's awesome and you know it, right, and you don't really care whether they get it or not, you see what I'm saying?

I know that can be tricky in the beginning, but if you can get yourself to that state when you're marketing, all right, you've got something that's awesome but you cannot make them want it, right, you cannot force them, is what I mean to say, you cannot force them, right. You want to position yourself as this magnet, right, so that you attract people to you without going out there and being obnoxious about it or just going out there and saying, hey, you know, you got to do this now, otherwise, you know, whatever, right.

All right, another one here, let's see. I think this one, if I'm not mistaken, I don't recall the message in this one, but I think this one was, hey, I'm getting a bunch of visitors but I'm not getting any conversions on this, okay. So let's take a look again, three filters, okay: message, design, and the unexplainable, the mysterious stuff. Design, I think the design can be improved just a little bit because I think the background picture is a small size picture, I think you need a higher resolution, it's a low resolution picture, like on my computer here, if you guys can see this, it's a very low resolution, okay, and that's not a cool thing to have on a wrapper.

I'm going to show you in a minute here how you can fix that really easy. Next thing is our message, okay. "Struggling to save money on your house purchase." Struggling, when you guys, tell me honestly, tell me in the comments when you read this, okay, let's break this down by sentence, okay: "struggling to save money on your house purchase," this kind of fries my brain a little bit, I don't get this, I need to read it a couple times to really understand it. "Discover how you can actually save thousands of dollars with this new way to buy a house." I think the message is not clear, I think the message is a little bit confusing to me, at least, okay, I don't know about you guys, but I think the message is confusing the heck out of the visitor here. I don't know exactly what you mean here.

"Discover how you can actually save thousands of dollars with this new way to buy a house, so you can save thousands of dollars to buy a house anywhere in Texas." So first of all, if you're advertising just in Texas, I hope that you're targeting your campaign so that you don't run ads in Chicago and you don't run ads in California. You should only be advertising if what you're doing is just for Texas, you should be running ads only in Texas. So I think the headline definitely needs to be angled a little bit differently.

And then as far as, okay, so, "get 100% free information, enter your name and email below." Okay, that's all cool. Do a click. There's a clear headline on this, definitely clear headline. Okay, here's another page that is not converting well and this person is asking for feedback.

So first things first, you guys see the low resolution background images. Let me show you how to fix that first. You go to Google. And you search for whatever background you want. Okay, so this one is beach, water, ocean, tropical.

Just search for whatever. You go to images. Okay, click on images. Okay, and here you'll have a bunch of pictures here as you can see, right? Tons.

Tons of pictures that you can use for backgrounds. So what you can do is just a couple things, that's okay. Number one, you can use images that are royalty free and you're not taking something that you cannot take.

That makes sense? So there's a bunch of royalty free images here. But what you do here is go to search tools, okay? And then I go to size, right? Size.

And see how it's by default going to have any size, right? I want, for a landing page background image, I want that image to be larger than 4 megapixels. Okay? Four megapixels. So 2272 by 1704.

The larger the size, the better. Now you can also live with 1600 by 1200, larger than 1600 by 1200. I want my images to be very high resolution, okay? You don't want them to, you don't want to go too crazy. But I would say four megapixels is probably good enough.

So I would just select that, okay? And then I would go, "more tools, show sizes." And here you can see the image size, okay? So what you can do is, if you click on the image, okay, you click on it again to open it and see if you can download it.

So I wouldn't have this kind of stuff going on, okay? So all you need to do is just find a better resolution, high resolution image and that will fix your problem.

Just reupload your background image and you're good. Hopefully that makes sense. Let's see here. And if you're talking about a house here, right, I would do a picture of some kind of maybe even real estate. You know, if you're targeting people that want to, like their ultimate, like what's their desire, right?

What do they want to do? What's their core desire? Well, they want to save money, and they want to move into a house, right? So chances are that a lot of these folks will probably be first time home owners, right? First time home buyers.

So maybe I would put, find a picture of like a family, right? First time home buyer couple standing next to a house with like a happy face or something like that. You know what I mean? First time home buyers. I mean, you can't really fake that feeling, right?

And just kind of attach that to the message because I think this picture is a little bit, not a little bit, I mean it's out of line with the core message here because here you're talking about buying a house in Texas. Okay. And you're showing like a paradise beach which really has nothing to do with buying houses. Okay. All right.

Split test again. So let's move on to this one. All right. First of all, see, there's a lot of space here at the top. Okay.

A lot of space at the top. I would move this box up higher. Okay. Again, talked about the background image here. "Use this proven system to create wealth."

"Most people struggle because they don't have a simple system of results to follow. Good news: today you can get access to that exact system that has literally set thousands of families free." Okay. That's an okay message.

Okay. That's an okay message. I would split test it against something like, "Breaking news: new system literally set thousands of families free. You can be next. Find out how."

Boom. Okay. "Enter your name." Something to that effect. If you want to be that generic, but again, this type of message is not like, hey, "go from zero to 5,000 in two seconds," you know, what everybody is saying out there. This message is a little bit different. It's got a little bit of a different vibe to it, which is cool.

Okay. I would split test it just to make it a little bit shorter and speak directly to them. Again, you know, you're talking about good news, okay. "News here today, you can get access to that exact system that literally set..." I like this line right here, "exact system that has literally set thousands of families," I like the word "family" here, because if you're promoting to folks that have families, this will be attractive, and this is something different, not a lot of marketers talk about families anymore, which is good. I would just make it shorter and you should be okay.

Alright, this next one here: "How to earn tons of money at home online, the answer is in the palm of your hand," and, "your best email." I think this page converted, if I'm not mistaken, about average. "And your best email address to receive this free video and join our mailing list." This right here, I'm going to tell you right away, is killing you: "join our mailing list." They have no idea who you are, they have no idea what you're going to send them, they don't want to join your mailing list, okay. I think this is killing you right here, if anything, this is a killer, in a bad way. This is not very clear, this is very generic, I would clarify my message a little bit more, split test, but I would definitely remove this right here, "and join our mailing list," again, people don't want to join anything, you know, remove that. I mean, I know how you created this page and the background, everything can be okay, even the message, I think it's okay, can definitely be improved, but remove this and you'll see a nice jump in your conversion rate.

Alright, what we're going to do guys, Tom, is this, has it been helpful for you guys a little bit?

Do you see, again, I want to make sure you guys understand this. When you're creating your landing pages, when you're creating your, even your marketing, even your campaigns, three categories. Message, your hook, number two is your design, your layout, how your thing is laid out. With a lot of the landing page creators out there nowadays, design part should not be an issue for you. There's a lot of stuff you can just use, a lot of templates that are available to you.

We are going to be talking about marketing next week. So we're going to be talking about traffic getting techniques and tips and all the good stuff. Okay, on our next coaching call. I might have a guest with me.

Maybe not, we'll see. And then we're getting to the point to where, you know, we're in the final stages of what we have. There's traffic intelligence, which is really, really, really awesome stuff. There is the traffic amplifier, really, really, really awesome stuff. You'll be learning that next week.

And then we have the conversion mastery, okay, which is some of the stuff that I haven't talked about yet, but you're going to learn a lot. Okay? So if you're enjoying this type of stuff, folks, getting traffic is one thing, understanding what to do with the traffic is another thing, okay? See this business as, you know what, don't overcomplicate it. The feedback that I kind of gave to you guys, again, I don't know you, nothing personal, whatever, I'm just, you know, and you don't even have to listen to me if you don't want to, I don't really care.

I just, you know, I was just thinking out loud. But my intention, my desire, is for you to learn this, okay? And sometimes, you know, sometimes we learn by doing something wrong and then learning from our mistakes.

Guys, when you have that approach, when you have that attitude towards building your business, you build an unbelievable business. Why? Because not everybody's going to do that. Okay?

Everybody wants a quick fix, you know, microwave results. He gets knocked out, right, one time, second time, third time, but you know what?

Bye.
