Hey! Welcome back, everybody! It's good to see you. You know, one of my favorite movies from the 80s is Back to the Future, and I don't know if you've seen Back to the Future or if you're like, what is that old-time movie that you speak of? But there's the great scene where the frizzy-haired doc looks over at Marty McFly and says, I'm sending you back to the future, right?
And that's what we're going to be talking about today. We're going to be talking about how to send people back to the future and how to create a motivational situation from that. But first off, let's just back up and let's take a look at why we're doing all of this to begin with. Motivation is absolutely right at the heart of so much of what we do. Think about it in terms of parenting.
I mean, how many of you have kids, right? Raise your hand if you've got kids. You know, inside the chat room, you can post, yeah, I got kids. I got five kids and one on the way. If you have kids, do you need to become a master of motivation?
In fact, my very last client was calling up because her son has not attended enough schooling this year to actually move from one level to the next level, right? And so she's like, how do I motivate my kid to get him to go to school? What about if you're an employer? What if you have employees, right? How does motivation play into what you do?
Have you ever had an employee that just wasn't that motivated to get a project done? What about a team leader, maybe either internally where you have a group of people that are on your employment team or you have a bunch of outsourcers and you're trying to get people to get their work done? Motivation is absolutely one of the keys to getting things done. It is one of the ways that it really separates people who are effective at influence and people who are ineffective at influence. And so what we're talking about here, when we're talking about motivation strategies, which we've been doing now for the last few weeks, we're talking about how to extend your influence.
I have a friend who he observed that, he was an engineer, no one that I think anybody here knows, local guy here in Utah, and he observed that as an engineer, he spent something like six years in school studying mathematics. But as he rose up in the employment ranks, there came a moment where the only way to make his income go north, the only way to really increase his income was to get better at influencing people. Because a manager of engineers ultimately is dealing with people. A manager of doctors is ultimately dealing with people. A manager in any kind of profession is doing that.
And a leader, someone who goes beyond the manager rank and really moves into the rank of a mass influencer is someone who has to learn how to motivate people. Now there's no way that we can talk about every motivation strategy that exists, but we've talked about a few. Let's just rewind real quick and let's take a look at where we've been, because what I'm really teaching you is I am teaching you how to extend and expand your influence, whether it's as a parent, whether it's in the employment world or whether you're building your own team of outsourcers or your own internal team of salespeople or whatever it happens to be. I am teaching you how to be more effective and to have a longer influence reach. So with that, let's go back in and let's just take a quick review.
A couple weeks back, we talked about how to stage people's level of motivation. Are they low-motivated or are they high-motivated? Then, and we talked about the different categories, we're not going to rehash those. You can go back in and once finally they're up in the back office, you can watch those replays. But we talked about how people at the very lowest levels of motivation really aren't even motivated and they're not even aware that they need to change.
And then at the highest levels of motivation, somebody might be like foaming at the mouth, beating down the door of change and just needs a little bit of extra help to make the transition. Last week, we talked about a very specific technique to raise motivation called the 5-Y technique, which is a simple technique. It's not the only one, but it's a simple technique to tap into the most powerful motivation source that exists on the planet. And that most powerful motivation source is the internal motivation that someone already has. And that is really the key to motivating people.
Today, we're going to start talking about how to tap into the power of vision. Tapping into vision in a very specific way that helps you motivate and drive people towards results that they want to achieve. And again, why are we doing this? We're doing this because by learning to extend and expand your influence, by becoming a master motivator, not only in name, but someone who is literally able to go out and with most people most of the time, increase motivation levels, which drives them into productivity and drives them into change, you will be in an elite group of people who is highly sought after, highly paid. And really the key to increasing your own personal effectiveness with other people and the key to increasing your income is learning to work well with people, which means you must learn to motivate people.
Okay. So if you're ready, if you're ready to learn something new, I want to see in the comments, go ahead and say, I am ready. Right. And as you're doing that, I'm going to take a peek here at the comments as you're doing that. Okay.
Okay. As you're doing that, I want to go ahead and just give a huge shout out to Michelle. Michelle, behind the scenes is always working to make sure that these things come off absolutely flawlessly. And I would be remiss if I just didn't take a minute and say, Michelle, thank you for taking the time to put this together. And thank you for really taking care of all the logistics so that all I have to do is show up and teach.
So if you guys want to give a huge shout out to Michelle just for being generally awesome and getting more done than any one human being that I know, just poster a thank you inside the comments. And also just thank you for purchasing the product and for being here today and being ready to learn. If I can, I just want to give everyone just a little round of applause and say from my heart, sincerely, thank you for taking the time to be here. So with that, let's go ahead and let's dive into this just here for a quick minute. And what I want to do now is I want to just go ahead and I want to tell you about one of the most effective motivators that I've ever met.
His name is Roland Walker. He's one of my early mentors. For those of you that follow me on Facebook, you may have seen a day when I taught right after I'd come back from visiting him as still someone that I keep in contact with. Absolutely one of the most incredible motivators that I have ever had the chance of coming in contact with. When people talk about Steve Jobs, for those of you who are familiar with Steve Jobs' work, they talk about when you got around him, it was like there was this reality distortion field that was all around him.
He was so good at bending and shaping reality and motivating people that people were like, man, you stepped around him. And it was like all the rules of reality had stopped being. This is a man who shaped reality, who did not let reality shape him. And that was this kind of guy. This is the first what I would call reality bender that I've ever met.
Someone who just absolutely had such a powerful vision and such a passion for communicating it that he could motivate people to get things done. And I think that there's lots of things that made this man, Roland Walker, a powerful motivator, but I want to highlight two that I think really have stuck out with me and just share a couple of experiences. The first one is that when he came into the leadership position where he was, and this is Santiago, Chile, years and years ago. It was a church leadership position. And no, this isn't a sermon, but this is an effective leadership story.
And the church was producing a certain level of output, shall we say. We'll put it in business terms. A certain level of output. And within a very short period of time, within 12 months, the output of that church basically moved tenfold. Not 10%, but literally tenfold.
A ten times increase in production. So we're talking about someone who 10X'd the church. A local church presence in Chile in the 1990s. And one of the things that was very clear is that when he walked in, he, in his mind, had a clear vision about where things were going. And so the first question that I have for you is whether you're talking about your own health, whether you're talking about an internal team, whether you're talking about your children, whether you're talking about your family, do you have a clear vision about where you wanted to go?
I will never forget the day that he came in and he spoke for the first time. And he started to do what I call vision casting. He started speaking his vision for where the church was going. And it was bigger than anyone around him had ever spoken. It was shocking to the mind to hear.
And so again, my question to you is, with your goal, do you have a vision that is so clear that you can speak it with passion? And if you don't, then the first client that you need to enroll in your coaching program is you because the first part of becoming a master influencer is actually having a vision to communicate. So if you have a vision, what I want to hear from you is I want to hear in the, again, in the comments below, I want you to go ahead and type in what is your vision? Is it a business vision? Is it a health vision?
Is it a helping people vision? Is it a vision that inspires the people to move? And if you don't, that's okay. Your first homework assignment starting now is to go ahead and put a pen to paper and to craft a vision that moves the people. This is about two years ago now, I went to a mastermind with a bunch of really high level entrepreneurs from all over the United States.
And I guess we had one or two people from internationally as well. There's people in from Asia, and South America. And we went into small and when I say, you know, next level entrepreneurs, we're talking about people who a couple people that group had sold businesses for more than $100 million. Super high level, high level group. And we were in little breakout groups.
And I was in this group with a guy who had sold a company to Google for like $100 million within the last 12 months. And, and one of the things that he said has stood out to me ever since he said it is easier to do something big than it is to do something small. Because if you do something small, it has no power to move the hearts of men. Now, I don't know if he came up with that. Or if he grabbed that from someone, but it shocked me.
He says, Whoa, he says, I have had more luck recruiting top talent into my businesses. I have had more luck and keeping people around I have had more luck in finding people to invest time and effort and energy and resources into me when I have a world changing vision. Then when I have a vision that is so teeny tiny small, that it just doesn't inspire those around me. And so again, this is a question I've gotten for you. Is your vision personally big enough to move the people around you?
Is it big enough to motivate the hearts of the men and women who have been placed in your care in your stewardship? Is your vision big enough for the teams that you lead for your family? That it has some oomph, and some motivation and some drive. And if it doesn't, I'm going to ask you to really carry that out. And again, this starts with you.
So if you say, Well, I'm just coaching myself, I'm just trying to motivate myself, I'm trying to become a master motivator for my own mind, then I would say, enroll yourself in your own program and create a vision for yourself that is so expansive and so wide, that it can move your own heart and your own mind. Because that's the mind you need to you need to move. But also, like Tamra right here says she wants to be a professional singer. I would ask Tamra, and she's nodding her head. Yes, right.
So I would ask Tamra, Tamra, is that vision compelling enough, first off, that it moves you? Okay, number one. Number two, is your vision for your career so crystal clear, and so compelling that when you speak to agents, when you speak to the people who are booking, when you speak to the people who might open doors for you, that they go, Wow, this woman knows where she's going. And she knows what she wants. Because when you have that crystal clear vision, it allows, that's right, so that they won't be able to resist hiring you.
That was why Steve Jobs was described as having this reality distortion field around it because he knew so clearly what he wanted, that people couldn't resist the clarity of vision that he was able to vision cast into people. This was Roland Walker for me in this church all those years ago, he could speak with such compelling clarity, that it felt like the earth was shaking underneath him and reality around him was bending. So let's celebrate reality benders, but let's also become one and we become one by creating a vision that is powerful and compelling, first for ourselves, and then for the people in our care. Okay, so that was the first thing that I think that made Roland Walker a super compelling leader. Now, the second thing was, he had this quote on his door, on his office door.
And it said, it is a great man who can motivate 10 or it is a great man who can do the work of 10 men. But it is a much greater man who can get 10 people to do their work. And the most highly paid people that I know are not only the super producers themselves, meaning someone who has the ability to just produce amazing results themselves, but it is the men and women who have the ability to put 10 people in action. Now, if you can't start with 10 today, can you get one person to go into action? And that's what we're going to be talking about for the rest of the time is, how can you start to motivate the one?
Because the key to motivating many is learning how to motivate one. And when you learn to move the heart and the mind of one person, you have the key that unlocks the door to many people. At this point in my career, I have worked with thousands of people. I've lost count exactly, but it's probably somewhere between 5 and 6,000 people that I've had the ability to influence and to motivate and inspire. And with great predictability, the technique that I'm going to be sharing with you here in just a little while has just that ability and the techniques that we've already covered about staging someone's level of motivation, knowing where to put your focus.
Am I focusing in on awareness? Am I focusing in on a game plan? Am I focusing in on just motivating the person? Am I focused in on helping them move in the massive action? Am I digging down deep for their why?
Am I vision casting? Am I helping them unlock their own vision? Because the key to getting 10 people to do their work isn't only in casting vision with your words, although that is super compelling and powerful, but it is helping people open up their inner eye. See, the difference between being a motivator and a world shaker reality bender is the ability to help someone wake up their own vision, help someone open up not their outer eyes to see what is real and in front of them. But if you can get people to see a compelling future, you have the key that unlocks a door to powerful change.
If you're hearing what I'm saying, I want you to feed it back to me. And here's why. Teaching things back will help you retain the information that you're learning. So I want you to I want you to put in the in the comments here, and I've just flipped over to it, put in the comments, what is your key learning so far? What have you heard me say?
And what are you understanding? And what's the thing? What's the nugget that you've pulled out of what we've just talked about? Okay, so let's I want to see some of that in the comments. And while you're doing that, I'm going to start telling other stories.
I'm gonna come back to these comments here in just a minute. I'm looking at some of your actually, let me just look at some of your visions here. Okay, I'm going to read off three or four of these things. So Christos, how you doing, man? So I've got Christos, and I can never pronounce your last name.
Oh, it's it's disappearing here. Oh, maybe Christos, I might have just lost you here. But hey, it's good to see you, brother. Glad you're here. So yeah, the comments are moving too fast.
So I'll come I'll come back to him here in a minute. So let's let's pop back into it. I want to I want to talk to you about another story or two that I think will help illustrate the points that we're going to move into the actual technique and the and I'm going to demonstrate it here with at least a couple of folks that are on tonight's call. But first one is, I want to take you back way back in time. This is right after I was newly I was newlywed.
My wife and I have been married weeks, not even months. And in those days, I used to carry around like a really big Franklin planner. It was huge. It was like one of those ones that was like that big that you could like barely tuck under your arm. It like had everything in it.
But I used it to organize my busy life. I was working. I think I was working two jobs at the time. I might be remembering that wrong. I think I was working two jobs.
I was brand newlywed. And I was going to school full time. And I was trying to maintain an academic scholarship. I had really, really high grades and needed to keep my grades almost at a four point to be able to maintain that scholarship, which was allowing me to stay in school because now I was newlywed and like, you know, eating ramen noodles broke his joke, right. And one of the things that my that my wife and I did is that we sat down and I still I'll never forget where we were.
We were in this hallway. And the hallway was in a I think it was in like one of the signs the Kindle building, I think is where it was for those of you that went to BYU. But I was in the Kimbell building and it's this tall building. I think they held science classes but I honestly don't even remember anymore. And we were sitting on this dusty floor next to an elevator late one night because our house was kind of loud.
We had neighbors that were noisy. And so we were in this, we were in the only quiet place that we could find on campus because we really wanted to take a moment to paint the picture for the next 10 years of our life. And we sat down and we started drawing pictures and we started writing down different things that we wanted to accomplish and different things we wanted to do. And we made this list of like a hundred things that we wanted to accomplish in this low-lit, dusty floor on campus at Brigham Young University. And we made this list.
And we brought the list home and we reviewed it from time to time but here's something interesting that happened. We lost the list for about 15 years. When we came back to the list and we found all of the different things that we had listed out and we had envisioned in our mind, both through drawings and through writing out detailed descriptions of what we wanted, we had accomplished 100% of what we had written down. Yeah, that's amazing. A hundred percent.
Places we wanted to travel, things we wanted to purchase. One of the things on there was I had wanted to buy, my wife is a pianist and she had wanted, she wanted a piano for the home. And I mean we were so freaking broke that I didn't know how I was going to do that. And one of the things I wrote down there's I'm going to buy a piano for my wife. It was like two years later that we had a piano in the home and same piano we have today.
And now I need to put like we need a grand piano in a room to hold it, right? You know but we had taken the time to build a vision. Now interestingly enough along the way something happened and this I think is a really common thing to have happen. And that is I started working for a corporation and I got so used to people telling me what to do that I almost lost the ability to see for a while. It was like slowly scales were coming down over my eyes until one day I was standing I was sitting in a coliseum listening to a man speak and he spoke in such a way he was vision casting again.
It woke me up. He was describing in great detail the future. He was describing his vision to motivate and to transform the people around him. He was talking about tens of thousands of people across the country in different groups coming together with a common vision and a common purpose moving towards a common goal. And it woke me up.
And so here today I am here to remind you that you have the ability to dream and that ability to dream has the ability to wake people up around you. So let's get into the nitty-gritty. Let's talk just a little bit about how to help people wake up their inner vision. The technique I'm going to be sharing with you today is one of several and I may come back around depending on how much how fast we get through these. I may demonstrate more than one but my goal today is really to demonstrate one technique and that is the technique of time travel.
So we're going to go back to the future. We're going to go back to the future. And this is a way to help break people out of not being able to be motivated because they can't see anything. Because let's be honest if your inner vision is completely shut down if you're blindfolded. Here hang on I have the most hilarious blindfold in the world.
I had a client give this to me. I'm going to show this to you okay. So this is my office. This is where I see clients. This is where I wake people up all day long.
And I had a client once say you need a blindfold for your office for people who have a hard time you know keeping their eyes closed. So this looks like a bra but no it is not a bra. It's actually a blindfold. So just think about this for a minute right. If you've got a client and their inner eyes are closed.
Somebody please for the love of all that's holy take a screenshot this is awesome. So if you have a client whose eyes are closed if they cannot see how likely is it that they're going to be able to reach their destination. Now I understand that somebody listening to this may it be you know may not be able to see with their physical eyes. But here's the beautiful thing even if you cannot see with your physical eyes you can imagine. You can dream.
You can envision with the inner eye or with the inner mind. Even if you're not seeing colors and pictures and things you can imagine a better world. And it starts by imagining a better world for yourself. So a lot of times one of the things that happens when you start working when you start working on being a master becoming a master motivator. Okay Tamara says she's got the she's got the screenshot of like what are people learning in this project Titan cult thing right.
Okay awesome. So if people one of the things that happens as we're becoming a master motivator is that we show up with our clients and you'll hear things like this well I just can't see things getting better. Right you ever heard something like that? Maybe even heard yourself speak it. I just can't imagine things you know getting any better just like I'm stuck.
So one of the things that we deal with as we become an influencer of people as we move into that realm of the elite that can command the salary of the CEO that can command the salary of the master motivator that can move the people the Tony Robbins's of the world. Tony Robbins's that's like a like a plural noun that was pretty awesome right. You can yeah something like that right you can the less brown you know become a less brown become a Tony Robbins become someone who wakes people up. Part of what you're doing is you are taking people who are blind and you are helping them see. You are learning to peel the scales off of the eyes of the of the people who have become blind not with their outer eyes but blind with the inner eye and you're waking them up and becoming a healer of vision.
Once I was blind but now I can see. Right so how do you do that? Well one way to do that and this strategy comes from a guy named Milton Erickson. Milton Erickson is probably one of the most famous therapists of all time and one of the things that Erickson would do is Erickson would help his clients step into the future past the point where they had met their goal or past the point where they had overcome an obstacle and he would help them vividly imagine what it was like to go into the future and to step into the moment of victory or even past the moment of victory to the point where the result was a was a bygone thing. So for Tamara for you it would I would help you step into the moment not only when you had your moment of victory but beyond it when you were 10 years into your career as a professional singer and you were there and orienting people in time in such a way that they're looking at their problem backwards from the future.
Right does that make sense? And then helping people solve and make game plans based on already being there back from the future. For those of you that have been around me any length of time you'll know that I do this on a regular basis. I'll do this from stage. I'll do this when I'm coaching a group of people.
I've even done this I think inside of this next level mastermind. Now I'm making it explicit. I'm bringing you into the inside world of my mind and telling you why I do this and the reason why is it wakes people's vision up. It allows them to see a solution and it increases motivation. So one of the ways that you can become a master motivator is to vision cast by speaking vision and speaking life into people and another way is you can help a person envision with the inner eye their own success by helping them step into their future beyond the point where the problem is not a problem or beyond the point where they have already achieved their dreams and goals.
Okay this is awesome stuff so we're going to do this here in just a quick second but first and I'm going to demonstrate this now that we've gone through what the technique is and I'm I want to take a look at the comments though because I want to go back in and I want to look at I want to look at where we're coming from here. Okay so we're going back to vision. Nobody post comments here for a quick second. We're looking at okay we're going to look at a couple these things. So people's visions.
Okay so just a couple of comments that we're that we're looking at here. Okay Katie. Katie says this is Katie. Oh no. Okay nobody post comments here for a second.
We just we just lost it. Okay hang on. I just wanted a couple people's comments. Okay so this is Shelly. Shelly Dawn and I'm Miss Shock.
I mean I can't pronounce your last name. I apologize. I'm bad at last names guys. I apologize but Shelly Dawn says I have several visions speaking in front of hundreds of thousand people empowering them to be freed of whatever keeps them in bondage. I also want to help provide for many orphanages around the world to help financially free other families.
Have a great relationship with my family members to reach my health and physical goals. Shelly. Awesome. So you already have like the big picture. You have the framework of where you're going.
Now guys I'm going to ask you not to post comments here for just a quick minute. Just like to rephrase it's moving things around while I'm looking at it. But it's okay. I want the comments but I want them here in just a minute. That way I can look through them.
So Katie or not Katie. Last person I was just talking to and I apologize. I lost the name. So what I want you to do is I want you to go through and I want you to write a full paragraph or more about every single one of those things so that you can create a complete and compelling vision of what that is and then find a way to either speak that vision daily. Like I have someone that literally I have what I have WhatsApp and literally on a daily basis there is someone who over a period of months I would speak my vision to him and he would speak his vision back to me.
We'd say we just had a rule for like a minute. But I would speak one piece of my vision clearly in under a minute. I would articulate. I would verbalize it daily creating the world with my mouth. Does that make sense?
So you want to get really nailed down and you want to get that okay. I don't know Will. What's WhatsApp with me? No comments for a second guys. It moves my comments that I can't see.
We're back to Katie Bobadie. That's probably not a real name I'm guessing. If that is, it's an awesome name. Will, you were speaking directly to me. I do this daily.
Grab what people are going through and find their core and help them build it bit by bit gently with the message holding the vision trust the process. Yeah, you're continuing creating a mass social change in the world by starting locally and reaching worldwide. Okay, awesome. Hold the vision trust the process. So Katie, you've hit the nail on the head.
The key to motivating many is motivating one. I want to find one more person who has a vision comment. This is Jim Bloodsworth. So Jim, I'm talking to you right now. It says he wants to free 100 families every year from their financial limits from a generational mindset of scarcity to one of abundance and help each one of them free 100 families every year creating a compounding effect that will begin to eradicate poverty and hunger from whole communities then nations and then the world.
Okay, so I lost your comment here from the comment that just came in. Awesome vision. Now, this is a specific recommendation for you. What I'd like you to do is I'd like you to actually go ahead and to do one of two things. Either I want you to draw that picture out so that you can actually see the 100 families.
That's what I call doodlization, right? Where you doodle out 100 families, 100 family units on a page and you symbolically represent that they're financially free or they're free. Are they free emotionally? Are they free mentally? Are they free financially?
How are they free? But draw that out symbolically so that you can see what 100 families looks like. Another way to do this and this is something that I recommend on a regular basis is take a wall in your house. If your spouse or significant other will allow you to do this. Okay, if not, go to the garage or something.
You get a wall and what you do is you go to a magazine and you cut out people's faces. And in your case, you're going to cut out 100 families out of magazines or print them off the internet and in color is better. And you're going to take a picture of yourself smiling there in the middle and you're going to post that picture right in the middle of your wall and then you're going to post those 100 families that you've freed all around you. That way your brain can get, your inner mind can get a vision of what that looks like. Okay, or for Tamara, if you want to be a professional singer and you want to sing in front of crowds of 1,000 people or 500 people or 100 people, you literally find a picture of a group of 100 people and then you take a picture of yourself and you photoshop it in there or you pay someone to photoshop it in there or you just tape it on there or something like that.
So you can see yourself singing, right? So you can create the inner vision. You can also create it with the inner mind but for a lot of us, it helps to see it with the outer mind. So what I want to know is I want to know, this is from the gentleman that I was just talking to, if you could fill up your wall with a vision of 100 families, if you could find a place to do that, that would be absolutely awesome. If you can, I want you to take a picture of it and I want you to message it inside of this group and post it in one of the comments because we're only letting people post inside the comments of the things that me or the other admins post.
Okay, cool. So with that, we're going to go ahead and do this technique of helping somebody build their motivation and build their inner vision by helping reorient them into the future. We're going to do this with first with, I think we're doing this first with K because K was left out last time and then we're going to bring on Tamara. So K, are you ready to come out? Oh yeah, I'm ready.
Did you like color your hair since last time I saw you? It's been like this for maybe, when I was in Nashville, it was like this. I think it's just lightning. I think maybe you pulled it back or something like that last time. Yeah, I think that's what it was.
That's what it was. Well, it looks really good. I'm going to switch over so I can see you. What I'm going to do is I'm going to turn off my camera. Michelle, if you're listening, if you could go ahead and fix the screen here on K, that would be awesome.
Yes, sir. Okay, so I'm turning off my videos so you're not worried about looking at me and this way, we can all pay complete attention to you, K. So K, first off, tell me a little. Now, last week, you were saying that you were pretty motivated already but tell us a little bit about what it is that you want in your life. Okay, so for me, when I started out with this, it was very on a me level and I wanted, just like everybody else, we want that kind of financial freedom to basically work from anywhere and then when you go out, you don't want to have to look at your bank account to make sure that you have enough money and for me too, it was a lot of, I want to spend time with my family and I want to spend time with my boyfriend and it was just kind of like I was at a point where I was working actually like four jobs mostly as an employee.
I only had some contracting jobs and then I was also going to college. I was taking like four classes at the same time and then I compete in bodybuilding competitions. I'm actually a bikini competitor which that requires a lot of dedication, a lot of time. I'm always eating at a specific time. My whole world revolves around food and my workouts and so I had to deal with all of that all at once and so I was kind of at a point where I just got fed up and for me, I wanted to get back to what really mattered to me.
Right now, I'm in a little bit of a different place but that's pretty much where it started. Okay, well what do you want though? Let's zero down to one result just for ease for the demonstration. Yeah, definitely. Let's just go with financial freedom.
So being able to pay off all my debt and then again like I said, not having to look at my bank account every time I go out. Okay, so financial freedom for you means having your debt paid off and not having to look at your bank account before you go out. Exactly and also that comes with like spending time with family and just not being at a physical location where I can't be with them or spend time with them or things like that. So that was the biggest thing I would say. Okay, awesome.
Now, we're not going to go into a deep dive. We're not going to do a five why here but I want to know why is that so important to you? Well, for me, family is very important to me and also my time. I value my time very highly and I really don't like it when I have to be doing something that I personally don't want to do or like I said last time actually, if you're on the call. Last time I said, I can't be told to do anything.
So that would probably be why. So it's family and time and you can't be told. Exactly. Okay. I was actually worried for a very long time because I was a 4.0 student back in school and people expected me to be like a doctor or something and so it was like a lot to live up to but I came to a point where I was really like, I actually don't fit into this society.
I don't fit into this image. So yeah, I just got tired of the whole like I have to do it a certain way. Right. And so you got tired of having to do it a certain way and you want to do it your own way. Exactly.
Okay. Now, I'm going to pause here for a second and I'm going to say, as I'm teaching and demonstrating at the same time, notice that if I started to tell Kay what she should be envisioning, she's already told me that this is like a guaranteed strategy to get her to like probably rebel or to move on. move against it. Is that true, Kay? Like I said, it's actually a little bit different for me because I've expanded my vision.
I can go a little bit deeper and so now, for me, it's more of… Hang on. Kay, if I told you what to do or I told you what to envision, would you like that? Probably not. Probably not. So part of becoming a master motivator means not telling people what to do but allowing them to have their own vision.
Your vision has to be a container that's large enough to hold other people's visions, whether you're working with your kids, whether you're motivating employees, whether you're motivating a team member, or whether you're coaching and inspiring someone to greatness. So Kay, what I'd like to do is I'd like to run you through a little exercise to help wake up your own inner vision to help you create like a more intense vision for your own future. Would that be all right? Oh yeah, definitely. And if I were coaching you like on your what, you've probably already done this.
You want to get really detailed on what it means specifically to be debt free, how much time you want to spend with your family, what kind of interactions you want with your family. But for right now, we're just going to imagine that together. Would that be okay? Oh yeah, definitely. Okay, so for just a moment, I want you to pretend that you can step into the future and not just a minute or two minutes into the future, but literally you can step so far into the future that not only have you achieved your goal of being out of debt, of having enough money to go out and to not worry about what you're spending on a day-by-day basis, but you have moved so far beyond that you can hardly even remember what it was like before when that wasn't a reality.
So tell me, how far out in the future would that be? If I'm being honest, I see it next year, by the end of the year next year. Okay, so you already see it at the end of the year next year, so I want you to go out like 9 or 10 years. Would you feel comfortable doing that? Yep.
Okay, what feels better for you, 9 or 10? Yeah, we could say like probably 9 more so. 9 years? Okay, so you're 9 years out and just imagine for a moment, if I can invite you to close your eyes and just imagine that you've had 9 more birthdays, 9 more New Years, you've had 9 other significant events from your own personal life and you're there on a day when you're really reflecting on your own success and how you've brought to pass the amazing things that are now in your life and have been in your life for quite some time. You have been free for more than 8 years.
You have been able to go out and to spend what you need to spend when you need to spend it. You have time to do the things that are important for you and you've been able to impact your family in an important way. Being there, Kay, tell me, what do you notice about your life now? I notice a sense of peace, no more stress, no more worrying, and I feel a lot of love. Not just from my family, but the people that I've touched, the people whose lives I've changed.
Also, like a really deep sense of gratitude, actually. It sounds like the places where I heard your voice really slow down, and again, I want to pause and just point this out to the group. Did you hear how her voice quality changed? Did you hear how her voice slowed down? Her voice got a little bit breathier and how she really landed on a couple of words?
I'm not sure I heard this right, Kay, but I heard you really emphasize the word gratitude and love and peace. Which one of those words really resonates most deeply with you? Love. Love. Do this again.
If I can invite you to do another closed-eye process, just close your eyes, and there you are. You have achieved all of these amazing things. You have impacted all of these people, and you feel love and gratitude and peace. Tell me a little bit more about that. What's that like?
I'm sorry. It's super overwhelming. Actually, it makes me super emotional. That's okay. You have every right to these emotions.
I've always wanted to be someone that people remember because I've touched their lives. So it's something that's just very... I can't put it into words. The only way that I can explain it is I have a very strong relationship with God or the universe or whatever you want to call it. But for me, it's like I've been given a purpose, and it's kind of like I have no choice but to fulfill it.
Otherwise, I just wouldn't be fulfilling my life or what I'm supposed to do here. So that's honestly the only way that I can explain it, that it's just very rooted inside me that I have no words for it. It actually makes me speechless. It's beyond words, isn't it? Yeah.
The most powerful motivation is almost always beyond words because you're tapping in to something that is deep-rooted inside of you, and you've just tapped into your own greatness, and you can feel it coming up out of you now, can't you? Oh, yeah. To be honest with you, since the last Mastermind that you did, I've been kind of vibrating at this really, really high energy and very super intense about this vision that I have. Yeah, there's really no words. I find myself really just rambling when I talk to people, but it all makes sense somehow when I talk to them about it.
One more time, I'd invite you to close your eyes. Step back into this moment of love and gratitude. You have been given a purpose. You had the choice, and you stood up to fulfill it. It is rooted deep inside you.
People remember you because you have touched their lives. And in your mind's eye, imagine all of the people whose lives you have touched. All of the change that's happened because you stood up and made a decision. And then put your hand up on your heart. Hold on to that.
And tell me, what is that like now as you imagine it? It feels like you're walking into light. It feels such a lightness and a peace knowing that I'm doing this for all the right reasons. It just feels complete, I guess I would say. At this point, yeah, complete.
Put your hand back up on your heart. Close your eyes. Step into the light. Breathe it in. And bring it back with you to now.
And look forward through a year into the future. Into that moment nine years from today. And see that Kay over there standing in the light. Living her purpose. What is that like to see her way over there?
It's overwhelming, but in a good way. In a good way. What's the next step that you're going to take now to step into the light and to live your vision? I know what I need to do is I need to talk to as many people as possible and to spread my vision. And I am very confident that I'll find the people that I need to be working with.
I know you will because you've stepped into the light. It is a done deal. Tell me, Kay, what are you going to do before you go to bed tonight to step into the light and to live your vision? Oh, I'm going to be scouring through my contacts, talking to as many people as possible. How many people are you going to talk to?
I'll put it at, we have a couple of calls tonight, so I'll put it at 150. 150? Yep. Okay. All right.
Hold up your pinky. Okay. Imagine that I'm locking pinkies with you. I'm going to turn my camera back on so you can see me. Okay, so I'm going to reach up here.
I'm holding your pinky. Okay. Repeat after me. I, Kay. I, Kay.
Promise. Promise. To step into the light. To step into the light. To live my vision.
To live my vision. Now. Now. Okay. Pinky swear?
Oh, yeah. I won't make you spit shake. That's more of a guy thing. It's a little too much for right now. A little over the top.
Maybe next time, right? Yeah, next time. Yeah, next time. All right, Kay. Listen, you're awesome.
Tell me, what happened to your motivation level? Just for the audience, let's debrief it. What happened to your motivation level as you went through the exercise? Like I said since the last time, I've been at 110%. Now it's 200, 300, 1,000.
I cannot stop. I have to keep going. No choice. Yeah. And if you didn't catch it this time, go back in and re-listen to it.
What you want to start to do is you want to start to train your ear and your eye. This is to the people who are watching. Kay, this would be good for you to go back and watch too. You want to train your ear and your eye to notice when somebody is in their motivation and when somebody is out of their motivation. So notice when it was that Kay connected with it.
Notice how helping Kay, I didn't tell her what to envision. I didn't tell her what to imagine. I just helped her unlock what was already inside. Okay? Now if somebody has a hard time doing that, I'm going to come back around probably next time and teach you a couple of techniques to help bust people through that if they're just locked up and they can't imagine anything you should bring them forward.
But Kay, you did an awesome job. Everyone, round of applause for Kay. And in the comments, put down what it was that you just learned by watching Kay. Okay? So what did you just learn?
And I'll come back in and I'll look at those here in a minute. And Michelle, you're doing awesome. I think I'm going to end up running over about ten minutes. So Michelle, is it okay if I message you when I'm done? Because I know you got it.
Absolutely. If you need to jet at any point, that will be fine, and I'll message you when I'm done. Is that all right? Sounds like a plan. Okay.
Cool. So let's go ahead and do this. I'm going to go ahead and actually before you go, Michelle, if you could post up Tamara. Yes, sir. And lock her screen on, and then I can wind up even if Tamara is on.
That will be fine. We'll manage, right? So Tamara, let's go ahead and pull you out here and go ahead and pull yourself off mute. We're going to demonstrate this one more time. The basic technique, just to rewind a little bit for people so that they can get a good idea about what we're doing here, we're taking somebody, we're going to just do a little bit, what and why, not a lot, and then we're going to help do whatever we can to move the person cognitively into the future, not only to the moment when they achieve, although that can be a really powerful moment, but to a moment beyond it when it's already been a done deal.
And then we're going to have them essentially look back from the future and get a feeling for what it's like. Now, it's very different to have somebody kind of talking about it in a detached way than it is to have somebody step into it. And if you go back in and you listen to the type of languaging that I used with Kay, one of the things that you'll notice is you'll notice that as I was talking to Kay, I was doing things with my language to help her actually step into the moment and to be there so that she wasn't just detached, kind of looking from a distance, but she was actually in it and looking back. So with that in mind, Tamara, is it Tamara or Tamara? I don't actually know.
It's Tamara. Okay. I wanted to make sure I was pronouncing it right. I know we've met before, but I wasn't sure. Yeah.
Yeah, I wanted to make sure I was pronouncing it right. So Tamara, go ahead and tell us just a little bit about one specific outcome that you're working towards right now. I want to win an Academy Award for my music. Okay, so you want to win an Academy Award for your music. What type of music?
Singing, specifically. Okay, and I'm going to turn off my camera here so we can focus in on you. So for your singing specifically. Yeah. So Tamara, tell me, before we go there, tell me a little bit about why this is important to you.
So why do you want to have this Academy Award for music? Because it's been my dream for most of my life and I feel like that's the purpose that I was given. And also, I feel like if I can achieve that dream, then other people who also have dreams will find courage and confidence in pursuing whatever it is that they are dreaming of as well. So it's a combination of you want to do it for you and this is a vision, a dream that you've had for most of your life. Yes.
This is not the way you said it, but you want to do it to inspire others. Absolutely. Which of those two pulls on you more? Is it more about you or more about other people? There's no right answer, I just want to hear what really drives you.
I feel like it's more about other people, particularly my own children. I was talking about this with Desmond and my accountability group today that it's an integrity issue where I tell my kids, you can do whatever you want, you can be whatever you want, but I didn't do that. So I feel like a liar. So I feel like singing is absolutely my purpose, inspiring others with my music is my purpose and if I don't live that out, if I don't actually at least go after my dream, even if I never achieve it, if I don't go after it, how is that being honest to my children and to anybody else who I'm telling this message to that you can be whatever you want? It's really about integrity, isn't it?
Yeah. Awesome. So you are absolutely on track. Now I'm just going to pause here for a minute and I want the group to notice, you want to listen again for where she's emphasizing things with her body language or with her voice tone. So I'm going to ask the question, what was it that she said that you pulled out that she was emphasizing?
What was she emphasizing there in terms of her what? And we're going to pause here for a second. We're going to wait for a couple of comments to come in. What was she emphasizing? Mark says children.
What else? When you hear things coming in, you're forming a hypothesis. You're not right or wrong. Rita and Laura say integrity and that she's lying. That's exactly right.
Those are the same things I heard. I heard children. I heard integrity and I heard the word lying. All got a lot of energy. So we've got her motivation and this is going to jump ahead but that means some of the motivation is what we call away from motivation or she's trying to move out of not being in integrity with her children and with herself.
Is that true, Tamara? Yeah, absolutely. For you, now that's what we heard but that doesn't mean we're right because we're not living inside of Tamara's head. So for you, what's the most important motivator that's got you going right now? It's a sense of love for me.
Okay. I feel a very strong pull to do this. I sing every day. I call it opera Tourette's. I just start singing at inappropriate and random times.
It's almost like a daily reminder that's what I'm supposed to be doing with my life. That's what you're supposed to be doing. Yeah. So Tamara, I'd like to run you through a little exercise to help you really dig down deep into the motivation and really to allow yourself to connect with this inner vision that you have. Would that be okay?
Yes, please do. Okay, so just for a moment, tell me how long will it take you to get the Academy Award, to really pursue your dream? I'm giving it five years. Five years? Yep.
Okay. So, we want to bring you out past five years. We want to bring you out to the point where you've been out six years, seven years, ten years, long enough that it is a done deal. It has been a reality now for many, many years. How far out would that be?
For many years after the five? Yeah. I guess when I'm old, so many years after I've already won the award and I'm just kind of looking fondly back on that. You're deeply looking back at your life and the impact that you've had. I would be, let's put it like 20 years in the future.
Okay, 20 years in the future? Okay. So, to do this, I'm going to invite you to do an eyes closed process. Is that okay? Yeah.
Go ahead and close your eyes for a moment and imagine that the years are passing. You have children, so certainly there will be birthdays of your children and you'll be passing by your own birthdays. There will be other significant family events, maybe there's other plans that are going to happen and you're going out into the years and the years are moving. Summer passes, fall passes, winter passes, spring passes, many times you can see the changing of the season and now you're out, that's right, 20 years in the future. And see yourself 20 years older when you can see that image, nod your head.
Step into the image, become the image, see through your eyes, hear through your ears, feel those feelings, be in that moment and look back over your life, over all of the amazing accomplishments, love, integrity, children. You have lived your dream in total integrity for many, many years now. That's right. That's right. And tell me, what's that like as you think about it?
It's awesome. It's awesome, isn't it? Yeah. Yeah. How is that experience?
Describe it to me a little bit. It bubbles up, you can't hold it back. It bubbles up. Where does it bubble up from inside the body? From my heart.
In your heart, so it's bubbling up. So one more time, put your hand on your heart where it's bubbling up from, okay? Head back down into that space, love, integrity, you've been in total integrity for many, many years now and you can feel that feeling, that's right, bubbling up inside your love and look back over all of your accomplishments and notice. What's that like? Describe it to me one more time.
It's powerful. It's powerful. Yeah. You're powerful, aren't you? Yeah.
As you review, close your eyes one more time, step back into it, love, integrity, there's a moment when your children actually are approaching you now that you're older and they're saying, mom, we are so grateful that you lived your love and integrity. You showed me what's possible and you see that they mean it. You can see it in their eye, in their face, you know what it's like when somebody's really deeply grateful and they're just radiating it. As you see your children thanking you for living your integrity, what is that like? It's fulfilling.
It fills me up. It's fulfilling and it fills you up. Look back over time and look back to the time when you got that Academy Award.
