Daily Habits Top Earners Use for Predictable Results (Part 11)

Aaron Rashkin, Empower Network’s million-dollar ring earner, tells Jonathan Cronstedt that he has a piece of “million-dollar software” sitting on every viewer’s computer already, and most people never use it. It turns out to be Notepad or TextEdit. Every night before bed, Rashkin opens a blank text file and writes down everything that has to happen the next day, then leaves it open on his screen so it is the first thing he sees when he sits down in the morning. That habit, he says, has produced seven figures for him.
The Nashville pitch that opens the session
Before the tactical content begins, Jonathan Cronstedt, CEO of Empower Network, uses the broadcast to push tickets to the company’s Unleash event, set for April 24 to 26, 2015, in Nashville, Tennessee. He describes it as the most transformational event Empower Network has put on to date, a place where attendees will “eradicate old habits and beliefs” holding them back, rebuild their work-life balance, and get a step-by-step plan for their biggest goals. Tickets were priced at 7 with a limited room and a warning that the price would rise once seats ran out. Cronstedt frames the choice as a “complete no-brainer” for anyone wanting to “amplify your vision” and “reclaim your inner peace and your outer power.”
He also uses the setup to needle his guest Silvio Fortunato, who is joining from Portugal at two in the morning. Referencing the scene in Wall Street where Gordon Gekko calls Charlie Sheen in the middle of the night, Cronstedt asks Silvio to say the line for him. Silvio obliges: “Money never sleeps, buddy.”
Aaron Rashkin’s day runs on breakfast, exercise, and a hard line around email
Rashkin describes his days as “pretty much the same every day… almost like an episode of Groundhog’s Day.” He wakes his son, and the first stop is the kitchen, because “when you feel well, you do well.” Breakfast is never just one dish. A typical morning might be whole wheat pancakes with strawberries and cottage cheese, an omelet, and scrambled eggs, all at once, because most of the day’s calories and energy get loaded in that first meal.
He pairs food with daily movement. “I only exercise on the days that I eat,” he says, describing a rule of staying active seven days a week, whether that means hiking, biking, the gym, or twenty minutes of push-ups and sit-ups in a hotel room before an event. He connects this directly to money: “Money is really nothing more than energy and it’s very fast and it’s a fast moving entity. So the faster you’re able to move and groove, then the faster you’ll be able to attract money into your life.”
On email, Rashkin has built a physical barrier. He now charges his phone in a different room than his bedroom so he is not tempted to check it before sleep or first thing on waking. In the last few months he has gone further, not opening his phone at all until he’s out of the bedroom and downstairs, fully separating business from family time. “Either I’m plugged in to my business 100% or I’m plugged out 100%,” he says. He calls this compartmentalizing, after concluding that trying to run his business from the family sofa left him doing neither job well.
Morning marketing comes before anything urgent
The core of Rashkin’s routine is what he calls morning marketing: after breakfast and getting his son off to school, he sits down and produces revenue-generating work first, a blog post, a broadcast to his team, ad campaigns, before responding to anyone. He shuts down chat, Facebook, and messages during this window. “Nobody ever died if I didn’t respond to them immediately,” he says, arguing that people who matter don’t disappear if you’re slow to reply. He separates “the urgent from the important” and refuses to let the former displace the latter, even when the block is only thirty or sixty minutes.
Cronstedt draws out the psychology behind it: once morning marketing is done, the day’s most important task is already locked in regardless of what interrupts the rest of it, and finishing it first creates momentum that carries into everything else. Rashkin adds that this discipline came from years of trade-offs going back to when he worked as a personal trainer and built his network marketing business around a 5:30 a.m. gym schedule, sometimes giving up sleep, meals, or social plans to get the work done. “90% of getting what you want is knowing what you have to give up to get it,” he says.
Silvio Fortunato works from a red couch and refuses structure
Fortunato, who leads Empower Network’s expansion into Portugal, describes an almost opposite approach. He avoids fixed schedules and to-do lists because they make his work feel like a job. Instead, he breaks big projects into small daily pieces and works through them until each is done. He skips breakfast, works from bed or from what he calls his “big red sofa,” often in pajamas, with the television on.
Despite the lack of structure, he holds to a short list of non-negotiables: leads must be generated every day, tracked by his assistant and adjusted if the numbers slip, and he must communicate with his list, usually through a blog post sent out three to five times a week. “If I don’t do this, nothing happens in my business,” he says. Everything else, including managing his team, happens around those anchors. He traces the shift to closing his computer company fifteen years ago and moving fully into internet marketing, which let him build an environment, his sofa, his own office five meters from his house, where long hours don’t register as work. “I mix my life with the job… I don’t know when I’m living my life, I’m working, I mix things.”

If I could show you how to make 2015 the year that you reclaim control over your life and finances so you could stop worrying and start living the life you desire and deserve, would you be interested? Hey, this is J.Cron, CEO of Empower Network, and if you answered yes, then I want you to pay close attention as you watch this short video. As I'm recording this video for you, the team is busy putting together the final event and promotional material for our Unleash event. They're going to be releasing it to the public very soon. However, before they release it, I wanted to make sure I recorded this video for you and you had the opportunity to see this and to take action now before all of the remaining seats fill up and you lose out on your opportunity. On April 24th through the 26th of 2015, we are going to be hosting our Unleash event in Nashville, Tennessee, and I can say with absolute certainty the Unleash event will be the most transformational event put on by Empower Network to date.
Here's why. The Unleash event is more than just an event. It's an unforgettable, transformational experience that you will look back on for years to come and refer to it as your turning point or your breakthrough, as Dave Wood says. During this event, we will show you how to reclaim control over your life and business so you can start living life on your terms and not somebody else's. You're going to eradicate old habits and beliefs that are getting in the way of success in your business. Create a healthier work-life balance and spend more time doing what you love with the people you love.
Maybe finally break free of that J-O-B or just over-broke lifestyle and show you how to start making the money you deserve. And once we show you this, we're going to help you create a step-by-step plan to accomplish your biggest business goals and dramatically improve all areas of your life and kick that plan into high gear action. The best part? You're not going to be doing this alone. You're going to be surrounded by a community of like-minded individuals who share the same hopes, dreams, and aspirations as you. Now the decision is a complete no-brainer.
If you're the type of person who wants to amplify your vision and get clear on your goals, eliminate the harmful negative self-talk and baggage of the past that's preventing you from moving forward. Multiply your value, get rid of that low-value stuff, and only do what you love. Reclaim your inner peace and your outer power and massively upgrade your ability to contribute both on a personal and professional level and get paid to do it too. And make 2015 the year that you stopped worrying and started living. And you want to make this change happen now, not later. Look below this video right now and click on the button to secure your ticket to our upcoming Unleash event in Nashville, Tennessee.
You deserve to be there with us. I know it. Dave Wood knows it. And the feelings of anticipation that you feel inside of you right now to make 2015 your best year ever for yourself, for your family, means you know it too. So go ahead, make the right decision. Click on the button below this video to secure your ticket to our upcoming Unleash event.
And I look forward to seeing you there. When you attend the events, everybody is there for one mission. You know, they have the same vision, they have similar goals, and they go in the same direction. You immediately have that connection and that bond because we're all here for a reason. We all have a story to share, and I think that's a beautiful thing. I've been searching for this all my life.
Sometimes it's almost like a utopia because you come here and people are just so passionate and concerned about your well-being. People want to do nothing but spend their time helping you. It just makes me feel like, wow, what could I possibly do in the future with this community? The community, not just the business, but the community, the people, it's all about the people. You get this ability to just have fun with people who have the same dreams as you. I've made some of my best friends in my life here.
I love being around like-minded people. It's one of the most empowering places I've ever been in my life. It's literally changed who I am as a person. Well, good evening, everyone, and a very happy, terrific Tuesday to all of you. Welcome to Tactical Tuesday. I'm going to be your host for the evening, Jonathan Cronstedt, CEO of Empower Network, aka jcron.
If this is your first time showing up, that's the nickname. So if you hear that, they're still talking about me. I'm really happy to have all of you with us tonight. As you know, we are appearing before you live tonight to dive into a tactical focus on a habit or strategy or technique that if you take and implement, you are going to see amazing results in your business. Now, we have people joining us from all over the world tonight that are going to be participating in chat. I am also joined by my esteemed guests, and I'm going to be introducing them to you in a moment.
But before we do that, I want to talk to you a little bit about what you see on the page in front of you and what's going to be coming up tonight. Now, first and foremost, you're going to, of course, see our theme for the evening, which is million-dollar success habits. And we're going to be drilling down into those with two leaders tonight, Aaron Rashkin, our million-dollar ring earner, Aaron Rashkin, and Silvio Fortunato, who currently is leading the global expansion of Empower Network in Portugal. And those habits are going to be exactly how they have built their day and their process to make getting results and outsized commissions predictable in their business. And that's what we're going to be talking about tonight. Also on the page, you're going to see a button that basically says join Empower Network now.
That button is there for you that if this is your first time here and you want to get started in the most powerful and engaged community of home-based business entrepreneurs, that's the button that you're going to want to click. And also, you're going to see a link that says if you're already a member from Empower, get your ticket to Unleash in Nashville coming up in April 24th, 5th, and 6th. This is going to be another record-breaking event. We don't have a lot of tickets left, and we may actually sell out. The ticket price is $197, but that is going to be increasing. So it is going to go up soon, and we may sell out.
If you're prepared to take your business to the next level, then that blue link is where you're going to click to make sure that you're in Nashville with us. And that's where you're going to want to get going. So you can grab an event ticket before they get more expensive or before they're gone entirely. So now that we've gotten that, you've got the information you need, we're going to begin diving into who I am joined with this evening. So first and foremost, I'd like you to say hello to our million-dollar ring earner, Mr. Aaron Rashkin.
Aaron, say hi to everybody. Hi, everybody. And as you guys can tell, Aaron takes direction very well. Hey, that's how you get to the top, baby. You've got to get a roadmap and just take action. That's it.
I love it. I love it. And everyone, please say hi to Silvio Fortunato joining us from Portugal. And Silvio, say hi to everyone and let them know that right now it is 2 in the morning for you. The day is just starting, my friend. Hello, everybody.
I'm ready to go. You know, Silvio, what I want you to say for me, and this is just purely personal, is, you know, there's a time in the movie Wall Street where Gordon Gekko calls Charlie Sheen at like 2 or 3 in the morning, and Charlie Sheen is asleep, and he reaches over and he picks up the phone, and Gordon Gekko just says to him in the phone, he goes, money never sleeps, bud. So what I need you to say for me, Silvio, is money never sleeps. Money never sleeps, buddy. Yes, sir. That is exactly what I wanted to hear.
So, Silvio, thank you. I've wanted to hear that for a long time, and for whatever reason, tonight is the night I decided to make my humble request. And, of course, everyone, I'm also joined by our incredible team, our resident blogging diva Michelle Schaefer is working with us tonight. Her voice is out, so she's going to be supporting, but not on camera with us tonight. And, of course, my lovely assistant, Ms. Tara Mangan, who is in chat with us.
And, of course, a big welcome to all of our guests in chat. We're happy to have you. And remember, as we go through these million-dollar habits that we're going to be diving into, you're going to be able to ask questions. You're going to be able to ask whatever questions you like on these habits in a way that if you manage to corner Erin or Silvio at a live event and dig in to exactly how they're achieving what they're achieving, you're going to be able to do that tonight. So have your questions ready. So without further ado, let's go ahead and let's ask Erin.
Erin, when you start your day, what would you say is the first thing you do to, I guess, kind of lock yourself in and ensure that that day starts right and moves in the right direction? Tell us, how does your day look? You know, my days are pretty much the same every day. It's almost like an episode of Groundhog's Day. You know, I wake up and usually I'm waking up my son right after I wake up. So the first thing we do once we're awake is we head right down into the kitchen and start cooking a breakfast.
You know, I mean, you know, we haven't eaten for sometimes eight or ten hours if we're getting a good night's sleep. So, you know, I always say when you feel well, you do well. And the best breakfast, the best meal of the day for me is breakfast. So we're loading up on some good protein and carbs and just, you know, getting some good fats in and just really just like preparing for our entire day with good quality nutrition. First time, you know, first thing we do every day. So when you hit the kitchen and you make breakfast, is there a go-to meal?
Is there a meal that it's like, that's just the one that seems to show up like three, four, five days a week? Like is there an Aaron Rashkin signature breakfast in the morning? You know, it's funny because like if you come over to my house and I'm sure you'll be here, we do a lot of partying in my house and a lot of cooking, a lot of eating, a lot of festive, you know, activity in my home. And when I cook, I like to make a lot of different things. So a typical breakfast for me and Legend would be like whole wheat pancakes with strawberries, cottage cheese. I'll make an omelet or, you know, a bunch of scrambled eggs.
And we'll always have like multiple things. You know, it's never just one thing. You know, he's used to eating well with me. And, you know, the most important thing is that we get our energy levels high first thing in the morning because that energy lasts us, you know, throughout most of the afternoon. And it'll literally like take us into the middle of the day from that very first meal. That's where most of our calories are consumed in the morning.
So when you look back over your time as a marketer, as a home-based business professional, and I know that that is an area that you have been playing in for a long time with unbelievable results, what are some of the habits or strategies that you have made sure that are always a part of your day, every single day, no matter what? Well, I, you know, obviously eat well. And, you know, a priority of mine is that I never wanted to be told that I couldn't eat a meal. And when I did have a job, see, I remember I was a personal trainer and I worked in a gym, so I ate out of a cooler and Tupperware with plastic forks and utensils. And so that was a very, very disruptive to my way of life, which is I love to eat. Now, I don't live to eat, I eat to live.
And my lifestyle is really predicated on having high levels of energy because being an entrepreneur, working from home, being self-employed, it does take a lot of mental energy. It takes a lot of physical energy and it takes a lot of emotional energy. And if you're hungry or you're not eating well, you get tired quickly, you get burned out, you get frustrated, you get confused. If your brain's not firing on all cylinders, there's a pretty good chance that you're not maximizing your potential. So for me, food is everything. It's a staple of my life.
And then behind food comes exercise. And if you know me, you know I only exercise on the days that I eat. So the key is that I stay active every day. You know, seven days a week I do something, whether it's hiking, biking, in the gym, you know, whether it's literally doing push-ups and sit-ups in my hotel room for 20 minutes before I get showered for an event. If I can't, you know, make it to a gym, I'll look for a road. If I can't make it to a road to go running, you know, I'll do something in my hotel room or if I'm in my house and I have gym equipment in my home.
So there's never a day that I don't move my body because for me it's a way of life. It's a way of life and I feel that that energy, you know, you know, motion creates emotion. And I always recommend to people that I work with, you know, my business partners, you know, customers, clients, friends, family, relatives, anybody. Anybody I know who gets a chance to spend time with me because I always encourage that they stay physically active because that energy, it begets and creates more energy. It's like success, right, success begets success. Well, exercise creates energy, energy creates results.
So, and people are attracted to people with high energy, right? Money is really nothing more than energy and it's very fast and it's a fast moving entity. So the faster you're able to move and groove, then the faster you'll be able to attract money into your life because that's what money is attracted to, people who are in constant motion. So let me ask you a question because this is one of those things that I always love asking everybody because it's something that for me, I'm always very interested in it. So when do you first check email in your day? So when is it, you know, so we've talked about breakfast, we've talked about exercise, when do you hit the inbox?
Which, you know, everybody knows the moment you hit the inbox, it's like you're sucked in, you know. So when does email come into your day? You know, it's a good question. It used to come into my day before I even got out of bed. Now what I do is I leave my phone and my charger outside of my bedroom because that way I'm not tempted to look at email, I'm not tempted to get on Facebook, I'm not tempted to, you know, literally like do what I'm supposed to, not do what I'm supposed to do, which is sleep and get rest and wake up fully rested. And so what I've been doing lately for the last like year or so is I've been charging my phone in another room and that way I don't touch my email until I'm outside of my bedroom, outside of the bathroom, ready to start my day.
And even more so lately in the last like two or three months, since like the beginning of the year, what I've been doing is I've been not even opening up my iPhone until I get down into the main part of my house and it's no longer a part of our family life here. So it's a business, in other words what I've learned to do is compartmentalize my business and my family life. And that way I'm either plugged in to my business 100% or I'm plugged out 100%. Either I'm plugged in to family 100% or I'm plugged out 100%. Meaning I don't, see I always thought that, you know, I could balance both. I could be a stay at home dad, sit on the sofa while I'm hanging out with my kids and be effective at both.
And the truth is that there's too many distractions and there's too many, you know, things that are temptations that are easy to start doing or getting sidetracked by. And so either I'm fully focused on being a businessman or I'm fully focused on being a parent or a family man. And I don't make any exceptions. There's no room for any exceptions. It's non-negotiable there. So what does your priority list look like?
So, you know, we've got the power breakfast. You're fed, feeling good, maybe hit a workout of some kind or you at least schedule the workout for the end of your day or whenever it's going to happen. It's time to plug in and get to work. You know, it's time to dedicate 100% to being a businessman. When you decide to start your work day and, you know, you've got email, you've got social media, you've got any kind of messaging, you know, Skype, text, whatever. You've got all of your marketing techniques at your disposal, you know, blogging, broadcasts to your lists, all of those things.
What is your, I guess, the first hour of your work day look like? What is the habit of I do this, then this, then this during your work day? Yeah, well, what I've learned to do, Jonathan, is I've learned to separate the urgent from the important. And the urgent are the things that require immediate attention. And what I've found out is that nobody ever died if I didn't respond to them immediately. So for people that text me overnight or if they text me first thing in the morning or if, you know, I get a Facebook message from somebody that just wants to reach out and say hello or if I get an email from somebody that, you know, has a question about business, you know, the right people don't just go away if you don't respond quickly.
They actually anticipate your response even more so, so it's more appreciated when you finally get back to them. But what's most important to me once I take care of, you know, breakfast and getting myself and Legend dressed and him off to school on a normal day is I sit down and I do my morning marketing. Okay, it's very rare that I'll respond to anybody until I take that revenue producing activity or I take action and get that revenue producing activity done. This is where I'll be doing a blog post or I'll be sending out a broadcast to my team or I'll be looking at campaigns if I'm running ads or, you know, writing, you know, some content for different types of advertorials or any kind of marketing that I'm doing. And that takes precedence. So I shut everything down.
In other words, I'm not into interruptive marketing. I don't want people bombarding me. I shut down chat. I don't respond to my Facebook. I don't respond or comment or post during my morning marketing because the revenue producing activity is the most important part of the business. So even if I only have 30 or 60 minutes in the morning to get this kind of work done, it is a priority and nothing comes before it.
So that's first and foremost is to get my morning marketing done. And this is not every day. This isn't 100% perfection. You know, there's days where it's give and take. There's always exceptions to the rule. But I will say that the majority of my time in the mornings are spent getting those big tasks out of the way, those things that are most important to my business and my success, which are marketing.
There's no exceptions around that. So that's the first and foremost. And I just got notified that my battery is about to die, so let me get my power cord real quick. Do you want to skip around and go over to Sylvia or something like that, John? Yeah, no problem. Let's get that plugged in.
That's going to be important. So what I wanted to highlight for everyone is that, you know, oftentimes success shows up in work clothes. And that's, you know, times where some people miss it. Some people focus on the urgent. Some people are so busy checking Facebook, so busy plugging in, you know, to other people's activity, to other people's achievements that they don't even have the opportunity to really focus on their business. And what I want to highlight for you is the nuance that Aaron said, and I think it's actually great the way he called it, morning marketing.
So what that does is it does a couple of things that psychologically I want to highlight for you because, number one, first thing in the morning, Aaron has already done something, that after morning marketing, if the rest of his day just is completely out the window. If Aaron ends up in a position where, let's just say, the power goes out at his house at 11 a.m. and he's been at work since 9 a.m., his most important items for that day are already done. They're already taken care of. They're not subject to anything urgent. They're not subject to anything interrupting them.
They're done. In addition to that, what Aaron has done in morning marketing is he has set up what I would call momentum. In the sense that what he did is he already achieved something that morning, very important, revenue producing, but it sets the tone for the entire day, moving him in a direction that leads him to more and more and more achievement because that first box has been checked. That first necessary part is done, and normally that's the hardest part. So it's like if you know the hardest thing to do is your marketing, what better way to make sure you achieve everything else in your day than to not give yourself permission to start answering whatever your online crack is, if it's reading news or if it's your Facebook feed or whatever it is, getting done what you need to get done beforehand. Aaron, I love that distinction, and I know you're back with us.
What happens after morning marketing? I just want to piggyback on what you said, Jonathan, because there's a lot of people that are part-time in the business, and I've been full-time from home now for 20-plus years, so this is a routine that has become pretty much my habit and become my pattern. For the people that have full-time jobs that wake up at crack of dawn, 6, 7 o'clock in the morning, 8 in the morning, they've got to get to work by 9 or 10, or maybe they work in the afternoons through the late evenings, I always live by the phraseology that 90% of getting what you want is knowing what you have to give up to get it. For me, when I did have a job, I did start out part-time because I worked as a personal trainer in the gym, and I did have early morning hours. I had to be at the gym at 5.30 in the morning for my first client at 6. When I was building my network marketing business during those years when I was still personal training, I would get up early.
We didn't create content back then. Content is the new currency in this marketplace, but back then it was about prospecting and connecting and closing. I would literally work my business any chance I got between the waking hours and the times I would go to bed. There were things that I had to give up. There were times that I had to give up sleep. There were times where I gave up meals.
There were times where I gave up social activities. There were times I gave up family events. I'd say no to those things temporarily so that I could say yes to them permanently. I knew that no matter what I had to get done for the day, it was going to get checked off my list. If it didn't get done by the time I was ready to go to sleep, I'd drink a cup of coffee and I'd stay up a little bit later and do the work then. The key is that you can't make exceptions and give yourself that wiggle room.
When you start negotiating with yourself, should I do it, shouldn't I do it, should I do this, should I do that? It's non-negotiable. It's called non-negotiable revenue producing activity. Until you get into the habit of thinking like a million dollar producer, you're probably never going to become one. This is what us million dollar producers think about is when can we sit down and produce our next piece of content or when can we sit down and produce results. Whether it be a broadcast email to your list or whether it be a blog post to generate a list or whether it be a social media ad or if you're running ads on Facebook or pay-per-click marketing or you're running advertisements or banners or solo ads or whatever it is you're doing, you have to make time.
You're never going to find time to be successful. You have to make time. This is a big differential between the unsuccessful and the successful is that we make time to do the things that have the most value towards our bottom line profit. I just wanted to bring that to the surface, Jonathan, before we move forward. Let's move on here. I know you asked me another question, but when I ran to get my power cord, I heard you talking, so I came back and I wanted to jump on that real quick.
What was the other question you asked me? That's all right. Are you all set? You got your power cord? We're plugged in now. All right, good.
Long as we're plugged in, long as you're turned on, that's what matters. We are about to dive into our Q&A section here because we are getting buried from chat with everybody wanting to know more about how you've built your day. By the way, I think you just actually coined the term morning marketing. I think everybody watching tonight is going to begin instituting their morning marketing ritual, which I might steal myself, actually. I love the idea of charging my phone in another room because with our increasing global population, I get pinged at odd hours. I know that shocks all of you, but I digress.
David from chat asked, Aaron, what time of the day do you usually read and are there any books that you recommend or books that have really stood out over your time? Well, it's funny. I actually like to multitask while I'm in the gym, so I'll bring a book with me if it's a hard copy book. I'll bring a book with me to the gym, and while I ride for an hour on the recumbent bike, I'll actually read a book. I also read on my iPhone. I have books that I download on different apps and so forth.
I've brought my iPad to the gym before, so on those days that I'm doing some kind of biking or whatnot kind of cardio, it's not as easy to do if I walk on a treadmill up an incline or something like that, but on the days that I'm actually sitting down and reading or sitting down to write, I'll do my reading then, or I'll carve out maybe a half hour in the morning and a half hour at night to read. Okay, so again, it depends on your schedule. It depends on your flexibility and availability. What's going to make most sense for you, but the key is that you put it on your list of things to do for the day and you get it done. Now, I want to point something else out, Jonathan, while I have this in mind. Every single person, right?
Here, can we do a little experiment? How would you all like to know about a piece of million-dollar software that you have built into your own computer? If you want to know what that software is, just type yes in the chat. All right, let's see. Yes in chat is voting for Aaron to share with you the million-dollar piece of software that you already have and may not be using it. And now we're seeing it scroll ridiculously fast, so Aaron?
Okay, I'm going to share with you a piece of million-dollar software that you have in your own computer. I guarantee you have it in your computer and you're probably not using it, certainly not the way I use it, certainly not the way a lot of other million-dollar producers use it. And this is something that I do and I use every single night. I never go to bed, Jonathan, without knowing what my day looks like the night before. I list everything that's a big part of my day for the next day, the night before, and I'll open up a text edit or a notepad, right? If you're on a PC, you have a notepad.
If you're on a Mac, you have a text edit. And so I open up those two or one of those, you know, the text edit for me because I'm on a Mac, and I list all the things that need to be done for the next day, and I leave it on my computer screen so that when I shut my monitor at the end of the night, when I come back in the morning and I open up my computer, the very first thing I see is the list of things that I made the to-do list the night before. So I know what I'm supposed to do. There's no question. I don't ever sit down at my computer and say, what should I do today? I don't know what I'm going to write.
I don't know what I'm going to produce. I don't know what I want to post. I don't know what kind of video I'm going to make, right? When I go to bed, I have a list of items that I'm going to tackle first thing the very next day, and until that list is done, I got that little monkey on my back literally telling me, hey, you're not done yet. You've got more to do. And this is developing the art of discipline, right?
Being able to say no to the things that are least profitable and saying yes to the things that are most profitable and doing the things that are sometimes more difficult to do, but they're far more beneficial. So that little million-dollar software has produced a lot of seven figures for me. So let's talk about that because I want to make sure everyone understands the impact of that, both in what it looks like immediately, but the psychology behind it, because what it looks like immediately is you know what you need to do that morning. You have a list of things you've taken, compiled throughout your day, and you know what your day is going to start out like. More importantly, it is a psychological barrier to what's important to you and your results getting interrupted by what's important to everybody else, that before you ever open your email or open your Facebook, before you open yourself up to whatever the world would like to have you hear, read, listen, whatever, you know the most important things to get done in your business, and that's what Aaron is talking about, and there's no question about it. If you implement using Notepad or TextEdit before you close out your day and start your day with it the next, that's a million-dollar piece of software right there that you're not using.
So Aaron, thank you for that. Let's go ahead and dive into one more question. Alex from chat asked, Number one thing that I have gotten out of attending Empower Network events is the fact that I surround myself with people who are going in the same direction as me. They think alike, they act alike, we all have similar visions for what we want, our futures, and to be quite honest, I mean the common thread that runs through all of us is simply freedom. And a lot of us, you know, we come to the industry because we seek change, and once you learn how to master transformation and you understand that by going to events, every single event you attend is like getting the next digit in the combination that's going to unlock the next breakthrough to your success. And so by going to the events, I get around the people who help me decipher what the next digit is by allowing me to really learn, listen, model, and be mentored by other people who have far greater results than I do in certain areas of the business that I'm still just getting started.
So it's really about being around the people, being around the team, getting a chance to spend quality time with the other leaders, asking questions, and learning from all members. I don't care what level of success you've experienced. I observe all members. I don't care if you're a newbie, if you're brand new, or if you've never done this before. By observing you and by being around you and listening to you ask questions and watching you stretch yourself outside your comfort zone, that's what inspires me to stretch outside my comfort zone. Having these little side conversations in the hallways or conversations after the event's over when people are leaving the room or on the lunch breaks or at the cocktail parties on the night before the event starts or the late night leadership parties.
Those conversations are powerful for me because I always find myself sharing what I know and learning from you what you know. And the more I make it more clear for you, the more I make it more clear for myself. So it's super important to be at live events. Well, Aaron, thank you for highlighting that. I know you have been a rock-solid supporter of live events and the transformation that takes place at them since your beginnings in this industry. And I know that for everyone that's heard your story that there have been a lot of transformative live event experiences in your path to here at Empower Network to your million-dollar ring.
So thank you very much for sharing that with everyone. And ladies and gentlemen, in the chat, for Mr. Aaron Rashkin. Aaron, we're going to be coming back to you for the lightning round when we close out this evening. So, Aaron, thank you much. And ladies and gentlemen, we are now going to head all the way over to Portugal in a moment and say hi to our other guest tonight, Silvio Fortunato, that actually, after giving you a couple of quick updates here, I'm going to actually have Aaron share with you and introduce Silvio because Aaron actually brought Silvio into the business.
And so there's nobody better to introduce Silvio on our Tactical Tuesday tonight. Before we do that, I want to remind you that if this is your first time seeing Empower Network and you'd like to know how to use blogging to build your business and engage with the best community of entrepreneurs on the planet, you're going to want to click that Join Empower Network Now button. It's a big green, red, flashy button circled in yellow. Can't miss it. If this is your first time hearing, you'd like to know more about what we do and how, that's the button to click. And if you're on here and you haven't yet gotten your ticket to Nashville, they are $197 and that price will go up if we don't sell out.
We do have a very real limitation on the size of this room. You're not going to want to miss Nashville as we bring together our global community of Empower Network entrepreneurs and they share with you the strategies and tactics and mindset that they're currently using to achieve unbelievable results while living a life of freedom and excitement at the same time. We would love to have you there. So with that, we are now going to bring on Silvio Fortunato from Portugal, but I'm going to ask Aaron to give him and give all of you a little bit of an idea about Silvio and how you guys met and bring him on for us tonight. Aaron, I thought I would ask you to do that if you're open to it. Oh, absolutely.
One of my favorite topics to discuss is the success of this man and his family. And, you know, it's interesting. I was at a live event back in September of 2012. It was at the San Diego – I forget which event it was. It was the San Diego event Empower Networks. I think it was their first – well, it wasn't the first.
June of 2012 was the first. So this was the second big live event. Three thousand people. I was at that event and I was out there just thinking about how I had put very little effort into this business and yet we were getting all sorts of recognition. It was up on stage getting one of those big-ass checks and just seeing how many people were experiencing success. And I always say that one of the big factors in going to events, if you've never been to an event before, if you're on the bubble of going out to Nashville, you will make your biggest commitments at live events.
I promise you, if you have not yet made the commitment of your life, you do that when you get to live events. At every single event I've been to in my life, I've been doing live events for over 20 years, Jonathan. Hundreds of events, whether they're local and small or international and large, I've been to hundreds of events. And at every event, I make a new commitment. At this event in September of 2012, I made a new commitment and that commitment was that I was ready to build this business. Had generated almost six figures, very, very part-time, putting in maybe an hour or two a day.
Now, that doesn't mean that it was easy. It's just that I had some experience leading up to Empower Network and I had built a brand and a following and had a large list of friends, fans, and followers. So I had a group of people that had been watching me for a long time. Little did I know, one of those people was Silvio Fortunato. And he was on my list for a couple of years, was watching me and the company I was with prior to Empower Network. Didn't really care for the offer that I was marketing at that time, so I think he just watched.
I'll tell you the story. The events that led up to him getting started, but while I was in San Diego, making that commitment that I was ready to start building a team and actually get on the phone and talk to people and start working with people and connecting with people and actually mentoring people and giving people a little bit of what I've learned over the 20 years that I've been in the business. He was making a commitment there in Portugal, and I'll let him tell the story, but he was making a new commitment that he was ready to change his life forever. And he'll tell the story all the time. He was looking for two new things. He was looking for a new vehicle, and he was looking for a new mentor.
And because he had been following me for a couple of years, watching to see what I was doing, he decided it was the right time to get started. So he got started while I was at that event. We met over Skype a couple of weeks later, I believe. My business development coach set up an appointment for the two of us. And we found out very quickly that we may live worlds apart and speak different languages as our primary language, but man, we have more in common than most brothers and sisters do. We're like two peas in a pod.
Our histories are so parallel, and we were looking for the same thing. I'm just going to quote Silvio because he's a master of this, but he's a guy that is committed to chasing the sun. And what that means is that he's committed to freedom. And when we met for the first time, I knew this was a lifelong friend and a business partner, somebody that I could not only have his back, but I know he'd have mine too. So I'm just so proud to call him a brother and a friend and a business partner and really somebody who I look up to and respect just as much as I know he looks up to and respects me. So not being sad, I'll bring out my buddy Silvio Fortunato.
Yeah, thank you, thank you. Well, I cannot say some things that I should say because you know me, I'm a big teddy bear, and I have to talk serious things and not talking about what I feel because it's very difficult for me. But it's really unbelievable that for long, long years I see you and other leaders in the industry, and I say, well, they earn the millions. I'm working like hell, and I don't earn the millions. And there is something here that is missing. I'm working so hard, so hard, I'm committed and do whatever it takes, but something is missing here.
And the things that you told, I say that there is two things that are missing. One is I need to change the vehicle because what I'm doing right now is I'm working like hell and nothing really, really special happens. I earn money, I have a lifestyle and everything, but I want to earn the big, big money. And I need new mentors, and that's the decision that I make. And when we really look for something, the universe conspires. And I found Empower Network, and I found you.
And these three years, after these three years, and listening to you talking about me is something really, really special. But, well, let's move on. That's our cue, everyone. If we don't move on, Silvio gets choked up because he's a big teddy bear. He's a big teddy bear. So, Silvio, without jumping into anything touchy-feely, let's talk about what does your day look like?
And what I'm excited to hear about, too, is because you have an incredible growing group in Portugal, but a U.S.-based company, and so you are kind of always working in different time zones. And I'd love to know what do you do first when you get up in the morning? Well, first, when I look at Aaron talking about I was a little bit… I'm the opposite, you know? I'm working in a different way because I don't like structure, you know? This is…
I love to be… When I was growing up, I wanted to be like Aaron, you know what I mean? My life is not so structured because if I feel that my life is structured with timetables, with to-do lists, with a channel, an agenda, this scares me a lot because it seems that I have a job or I have a business. You know what I mean? So this scares me like hell. So I am a very, very focused person.
I really… I have several things at the same time to do all day long. Sometimes when I have a big project, what I do in this big project is to divide the big project in small things, okay? And I have small things to do every day in these big projects. So I'm just… don't stop until I finish this small thing because after this small thing, I do another small thing and then I conquer the big one.
So when you have something very complex to do, the trick is divide it in small things, put it in a paper and do it. So in the morning, I never have breakfast. It's a very big, big mistake. I wake up, I push my computer, I work from my bed. I love to work from my bed. Oh, I come to my sofa and I work from my sofa in pajamas or whatever.
I don't care. I remember, I visited Silvio's office actually, and I should actually say I sat on Silvio's office, which is his big red couch. Yeah, I'm the king of the red sofa. Well, you know what I love, Silvio, about kind of what we're doing tonight, and this is what Tactical Tuesday is all about, is maybe some people tonight were listening to Aaron Rashkin and there may be half of the people that are like, you bet, first thing I do in the morning, wake up, big healthy breakfast, that's the way I start my day. There may be other people listening tonight that the fact that you've kind of built your day around your favorite thing to do and what emotionally and intellectually charges you is that you pull your laptop right into bed and you start working from bed, or you move over to the couch and start working from the couch. And what's amazing is, and what I wanted to share with everyone is that even though your habits are very, very different, there's still habits that you do every single day that continue to drive results in your business.
So you heard Aaron talk about morning marketing, and that's when he kind of has, let's call it his proactive time to market before responding to other people, whether it be emails or Facebook. When do you have that part of your day carved out normally? Well, yeah, there is two or three things that I have to do every day because this is the income productivity activities. Without that, there is nothing to, the business don't go through. So daily, I must have to generate leads, so I have my assistants to give me the numbers. I hate to make repetitive things, so I make the ads, but then I don't want to waste my time to control it, make the accounts, make these amounts of leads, it costs this and this, so I want them to give me the numbers.
So every day I have the numbers from him, and I have to make any changes if the numbers don't look what I want. So one of the things is to make sure that the leads are generated every day. That's one thing. Another thing is to make sure that I communicate with my list. I try to do it every day, but sometimes I cannot do it. Three times a week, five times a week I do it, so I make a blog post and I send this blog post to my list.
If I don't do this, nothing happens in my business. So all the other things are done after this. Maybe it's not in the beginning of the day, but I make sure that every day I have this done. So it's very easy. Check if the leads are coming from, don't stop it, and then make a blog post and send this blog post to my list and communicate with my list. They can produce activities every day.
Then I run my team as a mini power network, so I have a lot of things related with my team, and I have staff that works for me and for my team, so I have to check the projects and I have to check all these kinds of things, and that's the part of my time that I'm J.C. in my lazy millenium. So check everything. But then I have these small projects, and I don't stop until I do this small project that is the biggest one. And then I mix that with this. Then my wife says, well, let's go eat.
I take a shower. I go out and have lunch with my wife. We relax a little bit, then we come, and then I really love to be in my couch, seeing television and work at the same time in my laptop. This relaxes me. This makes me work more hours. I can be in the secretary.
If I do this, it seems a job, you know. I can be there five minutes, and then I need to stop. But to access first, we have to make sure that we do this income-producing activity. So Silvio, what I like about what you said, and I want to make sure nobody misses this, is you talked about building your processes around things that feed you emotionally, in the sense that you use the term relaxes you, that your environment and where you are the most excited, the most creative is when you're on your big red couch with your laptop in front of you, TV on in the background, that that's kind of your environment when you feel at your best. And it sounds like that you've kind of arrived at constructing that world so that you know where you're at your best. And I have to ask, did you always work that way, or previously was your morning routine different?
Has it evolved over time? How has it changed? When I had a computer company, it was impossible to work like this. But after I closed my company and I made internet marketing business from the last 15 years or something, I worked like this. Because I have to be comfortable because I work a lot of hours. I mix my life with the job.
I never know when I'm living my life, I'm working, I mix things. I don't complement, I don't know what to say in English, so now I'm working, now I'm living my life, just mix things. So I work a lot of hours and I don't feel that I work. So the trick is to be comfortable. I have my office, I have my house, my office is five meters from my house, I have staff there and I go five minutes there and come to here and I'm here in my sofa. And I talk with them by side and they are five minutes from my house.
But if I go there and sit in the secretary, I feel that I'm working and I cannot be there for a long time. So it's a psychological thing, but I'm not talking about that I'm not working. I'm talking about that I find a way that it's comfortable for me that I love to do and that I can work long hours without feeling that I'm working. So it's sort of a strategy, Silvio, that you've been able to build the environment and the habit so that although you may put in more hours than you used to, it's in an environment that doesn't feel like work, that you're kind of working and playing at the same time. Yes, but I'm working. So in that time I can work a lot more hours than sitting in a desk.
That's what I mean. The other thing is that I prioritize first the tasks that produce activities that make me the money and then the other tasks that are related with my team. All this kind of stuff that I run with because we don't have any Portuguese, any Spanish, all this kind of stuff. So we have to build everything from scratch. Fortunately, our network is now making everything, so in a few short periods of time I don't need to do anything else. We just wanted to wait for you to convert everything to then convert it ourselves.
That's what we wanted to do. That was our idea. Yes, I have a mindset to do whatever it takes and not wait for nothing and do it myself. So it's really a challenge and at the same time really, yes. Now Silvio, let me brag about you just for a quick minute here because I want to share with everybody watching that they're hearing some descriptions and some habits from you right now. For you, the first thing you do is you enjoy working from bed for a little bit, grab your laptop and then head over to the Red Couch aka Silvio's office and work from there for the day.
What I want to share with everybody here is that right now you may have an image of Silvio working from bed and then working from a couch. What I want to share with you is that he has figured out how to design his life and work as well as leverage the technology and the opportunity that I have now been fortunate enough to travel to see Silvio in Portugal twice to giant auditoriums full of lazy millionaires on fire for the opportunity but more importantly with a depth of respect for Silvio's leadership that the entire room you could hear a pin drop when he's on stage talking. The reason I want to share that with you is because you have someone that has figured out how to crack the code of either working from his bed or working from a couch that has allowed him to create an army of followers in Portugal, Spain, all over the world. And he's been able to do it completely on his terms. So Silvio I just wanted to highlight that for everybody because hey, you never know man, Red Couch, unlimited potential from that Red Couch and I've seen the Red Couch. I feel like after I sat on that Red Couch I was better for having sat on it.
I feel like I absorbed some of the power of the couch by being there. We are not talking about that we are not working. We are talking about finding an environment that we love to work with. So another thing is when we have a list of things, first do the things that we don't like so much. Because after we do the things that we don't like so much, the other ones make it easier. Another thing that because I put people, I outsource things and I have staff, so I delegate things that I don't like to do it and things that I appreciate my hour.
My hour has a certain value. If I want to earn a million dollars a year, I divide this and my hour has a price. So if my hour has a price, there are things that can be done for other people to do it and not me. You know, very inexpensive things. So I try to delegate as much as I can in the way that I can really make the things that I'm good with. This is a little bit more advanced stuff.
It's not for people that are starting right now that don't earn so much money that they can have outsourcing or can have stuff. But I do the things in a way that I really grow my business and have freedom at the same time. So I delegate and we need to delegate things that we don't like to do it in a way that we focus in the things that we are really good and we can make the difference and then we have lifestyle at the same time. This is very, very, very important. So Silvio, we've got a question for you here. You just brought up a term that I want to have you kind of give us a little bit more information on.
So Lane and Steven in chat both asked, when you talk about income producing activities, what are those activities specifically? What do you focus on when you say income producing activities, what are those? It's really simple. Generate leads that become the flow of leads that never stop. Generate leads and communicate with my list. So make a blog post and send a broadcast with this blog post.
That's it. When I start, I ask a simple question to Aaron Rushkin. Aaron, I want to earn 30k a month more than what I earn right now. I just want to have 30k a month in this business. What shall I have to do? And he said a very simple thing.
Silvio, you have to generate enough leads a day to make two sales of the blog a day and do this consistently in the next 90 days. If you do this, you earn 30k a month. So that's what I start to do. I don't know how many leads I need to generate two sales a day because the conversions are different for everybody. So I start to generate leads and I start to communicate as much as I can. When you repeat things, you start getting better and better and better.
So in the beginning, I need the next amount of leads to make one sale. Now that I'm getting better and better, I need less. So every day, just make the leads flow coming in and make a blog post and send this post to my list. I'm sorry, it's not so complicated than that. You really can't ask for simpler than generating leads, communicating with them. That's kind of the two-step formula that covers almost every element of what needs to happen after that.
And a lot of the heavy lifting is done for you after that with the way the Empower Network system works. So Silvio, Rick asked me in chat, Rick asked, what has been your biggest breakthrough moment at a live event? Of all the live events that you've attended, what would you say was your biggest breakthrough moment that you experienced at a live event? Well, I never failed, I never missed an event. That's one important thing. If, for instance, Aaron Rushkin called me and promoted me an event, I would kill him because this is an insult.
I consider this an insult. Because if the events are made, it's because we need to be there, period. So when someone launches an event, I just go to my agenda and put the dates and start, Cesarina starts to make the trips and the arrangements and the flights and so on. There is something on my agenda. I just move these things that I have in the agenda to another place because the priority is my business, the priority is my dreams. So being an event, it's the most important thing to fulfill my dreams.
So there is nothing more important than my dreams. So if the agenda, there is something there, for me the most important thing is the dream. So it's the priority. So if there is a vacation or something like that, I just move them. So the most important thing is that I was in the first event and I feel that I finally find my home. Hello David, how are you?
Because I was a long, long time in this industry and for some reason I don't feel in all the business that I was with, all the people, all the teams, all these things, I always feel that something is missing. And when I was in the first event of Empower Network, I finally have something in my mind, in my heart that I feel that really, really I find my home. I find that exactly when we go to our grandmother's home or our father's home or we are with our brother in my brother's house, I feel really good there. I feel safe. I feel that I'm with my friends that never make bad things about me or something like that. That's all the things that they tell me.
It's for my behalf. So when I go to the first event, I feel that I finally find my home. Nowadays I go to the events to be helpful to others and to be around successful people, to enjoy, to make vacations at the same time, bring my family with me and it's a mix between having fun, be around with the right people and have some conversations. Sometimes when you drink a beer with a leader or something like that or in five minutes you learn more than something, you know. And it's a mix and I love the events. And for me it's no questions to be on the events.
Even I use the events to bring my family with me. I always try to bring my kids with me because I know that this environment is the best environment that they can have, you know. Sometimes my younger one cannot be old because he cannot, if they have many faults, they cannot pass the year, you know. But I try to bring him and the older one to the events because there is no better environment for them than this. If they have to fault school to be on the events, I prefer that they are on the event and fault school because they learn more and more. I know that a lot of people don't agree with me, but they have a completely different mindset because all these years they were on the events.
My older son, the first event, was in the Cesarina's Valley, you know. She's great and she was in the first event with us in this valley. So all along these years, the best environment that I can put my kids was in the events. So if it's good for my kids, I think it's good for everyone in this room. Well, I couldn't agree more, Silvio. And actually, I agree with you having been someone that not only went through school and high school and college, and there's no question about it that the young people that go through school and high school and college, there's no question about it that the ability to cultivate the mental skills that are taught at an event, that the ability to have a positive mindset, to know that you can achieve anything, and to plug into a community of people that are positive and moving in the same direction, I couldn't agree with you more.
And it's certainly something that that's exactly why I get so excited every time I get to see our Empower Network family in the flesh at these events. So, Silvio, thank you so much, my friend. I always appreciate getting to hear a little bit more. And now what I'm going to ask for next, of course, is, you know, next I got to see, I'm going to ask Cesarina for a picture of Silvio and his pajamas working from his bed. You know, that's what I'm going to get next. But keep in mind what we're going to be doing now, guys, is lightning round.
And while Silvio and Aaron are preparing, and now Silvio and Aaron for lightning round, the question is if you could go back in time and change one habit that you had longer than you should have, so knowing what you know now, what habit would you have gotten rid of much sooner? That's the question for the lightning round, and we're going to come right back to that while I update everybody on what we've got coming up next. And then we are going to be joined after the lightning round by the illustrious, the man that needs no introduction, the gentleman with shorter styled, but certainly still sexy hair, Mr. David Wood is going to be joining us in a moment. Before that, if you're looking at this page and you see the Join Empower Network Now button, that is for those of you that this is your first time joining us on this Tactical Tuesday and hearing what we're all about. If you want to use blogging to build your business and you want to achieve the type of results that we've seen tonight, like Aaron and his million dollar ring or Silvio and his very near path to getting his million dollar ring, the results are not typical.
See our average earnings disclaimer at EmpowerNetwork.com. Go ahead and click that Join Empower Network Now button and start yourself on the path to the most engaged community of entrepreneurs driving results online today. If you're already in Empower Network, it's time for you to make sure that you lock in your position to come join us in Nashville for Unleash April 24th, 5th, and 6th. The general admission tickets are already up to $197. The price will increase to $247, and we may be even sold out before then because this event has specific space restrictions. We want to see you there.
Don't miss the opportunity to participate. And I also want to encourage you to take advantage of the VIP ticket option. I'm not sure if you know this yet, but on April 26th, Dave Wood is going to be going through live, showing a small group of people the exact formula that he's used to earn over $5,269,000 in commissions and be recognized as one of the top 10 highest income earners worldwide in his time here at Empower Network. So a huge opportunity to reveal this formula that Dave is calling the zero to top producer intensive. Don't miss out on it. That's a VIP-only experience.
You're going to want to be there, and you're going to want to take advantage of the results that Dave has been able to generate. So those are the buttons on the page. And without further ado, let's jump into the lightning round. Aaron Rashkin, what is the one habit, if you knew then what you know now, that you would have gotten out of your life far sooner? Yeah, that's a great question, Jonathan. Can you hear me okay?
Yes, sir. Okay, good. Yeah, I think if I had a chance to go back and do it all over again, the habit I would change is I would change from going to being reactive to proactive. Reactive means that you give your power away to things that really hold no real value to you, and you get caught up in a lot of drama and chaos that other people bring to you. I see it especially on Facebook. I see it especially with people who have lost sight of their own dreams and goals, and they wind up consuming everybody else's content, and they neglect creating their own.
And I think that for me, being structured and being disciplined and knowing what I have to say no to temporarily so that I can say yes permanently, that's the biggest factor that I would change if I could go back and tell my younger self the faster and shortest route to success. Excellent. So ladies and gentlemen, on the page you may see a button that says who won the lightning round. You're going to have the opportunity to vote for Aaron or Silvio or call it a tie. So tonight we are going to interactively decide who won, and what they are going to win is not only bragging rights, but also a cocktail with yours truly in Nashville, a prize that is beyond priceless. So going back to Aaron's habit that he would change, he would move from being reactive to proactive sooner in his time in his home-based business career, which obviously someone who has generated the results that he has, we can only imagine if he had gone from reactive to proactive sooner.
That's some serious advice, folks. That's what I like to call a writer downer. So that's Aaron Raskin's answer for the lightning round. Silvio, let's head over to you. If you had the power to change one habit sooner, knowing what you know now, then what habit would you change? Well, one of the habits is to start making videos sooner and more.
Start making videos sooner. Sooner and more, more videos. And one of the things that I'm looking back, it's not a habit, it's maybe a mistake. I chased the wrong mentors and the wrong business models for a long, long, long time. It's not an habit. The habits that I have, I don't change it so much.
But maybe this I change. If I look back, that's what I change for sure. Make it more, more videos for sure. Love it. Alright, ladies and gentlemen, to recap Silvio's lightning round advice, making videos for his marketing sooner as well as choosing better mentors at the outset. So rather than chasing the wrong mentors, choosing better mentors and incorporating video sooner.
So Aaron Raskin moving from reactive to proactive faster in his business. Silvio starting on video much, much sooner and choosing better mentors at the outset. The voting box is to the right of the chat box. You have the opportunity to choose Aaron Raskin or Silvio. Or if you like both of them so much that you can't decide, we've given you a tie button. So go ahead and cast your votes.
And while you're doing that, I'm going to go ahead and share with you who I'm going to be bringing on next to talk about their million-dollar habits. Now the gentleman that I'm going to be bringing on next is someone that I am extremely excited to hear about what his habits are and how he chooses them. Because he is more committed to certain areas that I know he's passionate about and I see that commitment and that discipline leading into his business life as well. He's an individual that needs no introduction because quite frankly his vision is something that was big enough that we are all playing a part in it right now. Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to have you bring to our live cast this evening Mr. Dave Wood.
Dave, are you with us? Yeah, I'm here. Can you hear me okay, John? Yeah, you're sounding good. Hey, awesome. I just wanted to pop on here and talk to you guys just about what I was working on.
And I actually have a whiteboard right here. And what I was doing before I got on this hangout was I was mapping out a secret plan. It's really good for what we're going to be doing at the event to make you guys a lot of money on that whiteboard. That's actually why I turned it around because I don't want you to see what's on it because you have to go to the event to find out. One of the things that I learned a long time ago, John, this is just me. And I don't think that I'm like everybody else.
I was always taught through my life that you need to discipline yourself and focus and it's painful and hard and tough. And for me, what I find is I find that if I don't enjoy doing something or I hate doing it or something like that that I won't keep doing it no matter how motivated I am and no matter how disciplined I am. So for me, getting myself in the right habits also includes finding ways of doing the things that I want to do in a way that I like and the way that I enjoy. It doesn't mean every part of it has to have pleasure in it, but it means I do have to enjoy it. And I'll give a difference and this is just me and it has nothing really to do with people that enjoy different things. Some people really like going to the gym and hitting weights like Aaron Rash.
He actually enjoys that in addition to being very disciplined at it. For whatever reason, I don't really enjoy it, but I do enjoy martial arts. So for me, what I do to work out is I do martial arts every day rather than going to the gym and hitting weights. I'd probably get a lot bigger and stronger if I went to the gym and hit weights and actually stayed consistent with it. But I don't actually enjoy doing it, so I don't stay consistent with it. When I got involved in the network marketing industry back in 2002, I was taught a bunch of ways of building the business that I could do for a short time, but I couldn't really sustain ever because the ways that I was doing it were awful for me.
And so I'd wind up in some behavioral pattern where I'd feel guilty all the time about not taking the action that I should be taking when the action that I should be taking just constantly stressed me out and gave myself a life that I didn't want. And I never once questioned, you know, should I actually be doing it this way? And when I really started to succeed in 2009, it's because I found a way to shift the things that I didn't like to do into things that I did like to do and actually do them in a more effective way in a way that I like and get more and better results at the exact same time. So I just changed my strategy a bit. You know, one time I was listening to this audio from Tony Robbins and he was talking about how one time he got back from a business trip where he was like, you know, speaking for like seven days in a row and he was like totally exhausted and just slaughtered. And he got home and he looked at his phone and there was like a hundred voicemails of phone calls that he actually had to return because at this point in his career he'd had a filtering system where you couldn't get a hold of him unless it was actually important.
So he needed to return phone calls to a hundred different people. I don't know if you guys have ever tried to call a hundred people for anything. I have. And just thinking about it, you know, it kind of like makes me nervous a bit. But anyways, what he said he did is he's like, man, I don't want to make these phone calls. I need to relax.
You know, I've been out speaking for a week. And then he just changed his state and what he decided to do was go sit in a really nice hot tub looking out over a really beautiful view and to make the phone calls sitting in the hot tub as he's enjoying himself and relaxing just like he wanted to do. So for me, what I like to do and this is just personal, right? Not everybody's like this is I like to construct strategies that I enjoy when I'm in the act of doing them. That's actually one of the reasons why I kind of fell into blogging, right? Not everybody is a kind of person that really loves blogging, but everybody can find something that they really love to blog about and then tie that back into a target market for people that actually want to join a business like this.
It's actually really easy to do if you know what you're doing. If you don't know what you're doing, it's not very easy to do, which is why we do events and why we teach you things that you need to know and why we have secret strategies that you can only learn if you actually decide to get around us and decide to buy your tickets right now. And maybe you could do that if you haven't already because I really look forward to meeting you in Nashville. What I like to do is I like to take something somebody else is doing that maybe I look at and I say, I really like this business model. I think it's a cool business model. Or I really like this way of making money.
It's a really cool way to make money. But I don't really like all the things these people have to do in order to make money this way. There's got to be a better, simpler, faster way of getting the same job done. That's one of the reasons why I created Empower Network in the first place. If you go back to our original messaging, it was make money like the gurus without having to be one. See our income disclosure at EmpowerNetwork.com forward slash income.
John, I hit the beat. In any case, so why did I do that? Because I looked at the guru business model, which seems really attractive on the front. It's like, man, these guys get to keep all this money. They get to sell these products and make atrocious commissions. They get to set up this business that really taps into other people's spheres of influence.
That's the part of it that's cool, is you really can make a lot of money with a business like that. But nobody talks about the part of it that's not cool. The fact that all of those guys work 18 hours a day every day, seven days a week, and if they stop or miss a day, their income just falls apart. The fact that in order to even start putting together the information products, you've got to understand technology systems or have enough money to hire somebody who does to set up the technology systems for you, the amount of money that you need to invest in to just video equipment and teams to transcribe things and write things down and translate things. Then you've got to write copy. If your copy sucks, it doesn't matter how good your products are.
Nobody actually tells you how awful it is to actually go out there as a work and actually set up an entire guru business. It's not a bad thing to do. It's just way the heck more work than you could even imagine it is. So what I wanted to do was give the ability for people to have a business like that without having to be a guru to have a business like that so they can have the great things and subtract all the things that suck. I wanted to build a network marketing business in a way where if you want to talk to your friends and family, you can talk to your friends and family and get good results. But if you don't want to do it, you don't have to do it to get results.
You can go out there and you can do target marketing. You can do this in a way where you can build a business and you can have a life at the same time. So I take something that gets great results and I make it also be something that I like to do at the same time. It's one of the reasons why I'm always smiling so big because I enjoy what I do so much and it gets such good results too. So that's what I would encourage you to do as a success habit is pull out your credit card and actually click the button and buy the event tickets now. And there's a lot of reasons why to do that.
I could go in and I could give you a sales pitch and tell you the reasons you should do it. And there's like a million things I could list off. And actually I could probably talk for four hours just giving direct specific reasons why you should get a Nashville. But what I'll tell you that I think is actually more important is what's going to happen if you don't get to Nashville. And what's going to happen if you don't decide to buy your tickets and you don't go is you're going to miss out on your breakthrough. And the thing is you don't even know how much your breakthrough is really worth.
And so I can't even put a price tag on it. I can't say the breakthrough is worth $997 or that it's worth $10,000 or that it's worth $97 because it could be worth $100,000 a year for the rest of your life. It could be worth a million dollars to see our income disclosure. It might not be worth that much. Maybe it's only worth $10,000 a year to you because you're just starting to have that breakthrough. But maybe you have the breakthrough that finally shifts you from where you are into starting to be the person that you really always wanted to be this whole time.
And what value can you really put on that? See, that's what I know you're going to miss out on if you don't get to Nashville. You're also going to miss out on the opportunity to build relationships. And relationships are always priceless. John, what price tag do you put on all the high-powered people that you know? Aaron, what price tag do you put on your relationships that you've built over the years with people like Eric Worre and Danny Johnson?
Only everything I've ever achieved. Yeah, it's like, okay, I'm not going to the event because it's not worth it. It's like, so knowing a person that makes a million dollars a year in network marketing is not worth getting to an event. Excuse me, but you need to re-educate yourself on what's important in business because that's everything in business. Who you know is more important than what you know. And that's something that's shared by every successful person in any kind of people business.
And even people in non-people businesses make more money if they have more people skills than their actual skills in their trade. This is something that's just commonly known. If you go back and read How to Win Friends and Influence People, their studies is done back in the 1930s of engineers who were actually better at engineering versus engineers who were better at talking to people and people that are actually better people people always make more money than people aren't because if you're good at getting people to do things and you're good at knowing the right people who can do things you can't know. You can't do and you don't know. You don't have to do everything. All you have to do is connect people and that's really what network marketing is all about is the events.
But it's about pulling out your credit card and deciding to buy your event ticket. And from now on, buying your event ticket three months in advance and just stopping the wussy behavior of procrastinating again and again and again and again. Because why are you even doing that? It doesn't even make any sense. You should have just pulled out your credit card two months ago and buy your tickets and you're excused from that if you just joined yesterday. You said, David, I didn't even know this existed two months ago.
I excuse you, but now you see the button. Now is the time to pull out your credit card today. I wrote this great blog post and the title was this and I want you to listen to this a few times and this is from memory so I might be butchering it slightly. But the title of my blog post was, When is it now the right time to take action in your business today? This is it. When it is now the right time to take action in your business today.
And I had a question mark at the end of that. It's actually not a question mark, it's a direct statement. So it looks confusing and people get confused reading it. But that's a good question, isn't it? When it is now the right time to take action in your business today. When it is now the right time to pull out your credit card and buy your event tickets right now.
When is it? Right now is the time. Because the reality is that what you're gaining from going there is your breakthrough is what you're really gaining. And what you're missing by not going there is you're missing that breakthrough. And what is it that you're missing if you don't go? What is it that Aaron would have missed if he didn't go to his first event?
What is it that I would have missed if I didn't go to my first event back in 2002? What would have happened with the relationship with John if he didn't go to the Empower.Work event after we had that conversation? He probably wouldn't be the CEO here, right? If Mars didn't come to that Empower.Work event, he wouldn't be the CMO here, right? If Justin Varengia didn't go to the first event in Atlanta, he wouldn't have flown down to my house. He wouldn't have earned a million dollars in Empower.Work.
He'd probably still be struggling to make $5,000 a month, truthfully, right? But when it is now the right time to take action in your business today is now, right? Because that's the only time that you can ever do anything. You can't do anything in the future, in the past. People always want to go back and change the past and they always want to think about what they're going to do in the future. I'll go to the event when I have money.
Will you really or will you ever just be out of this spot if that's the way that you make decisions? You know what I mean? You've got to just do it. I have people all the time in my team that are like, they join my team and they're like, I'm not going to go to the event because I can't afford it this time. And then I just have a conversation with them and magically in the next 24 hours they have their event ticket and they're getting in a bus and trekking across the country the following week to go to the event. Why?
Because I know how important the events are and when I tell somebody how important they are and I tell them you must be at the events if you want to get the results that you want. You must be at the events if you want to have the breakthrough that you're here for. You must get to the events if you want to step into your power and Empower Network, which is of course the reason why we have the name. You must get to the events if you want to decide to take action now in your business today and really become the person you want to be. You have to get your ticket to the events and pull out your credit card and stop being a wussy about it and just make the decision because now is the time. Now is the time to decide.
And we're doing some other cool things at the events. We're making some very cool announcements. I'm going to be, you know, I just actually told the leaders about some, I'm just opening up basically like a massive, some massive ways of making money for them that haven't existed before that I'm going to be talking to you guys at the event. You guys are all going to be able to be a part of like an important, an important documentary that we're making if you're at the event. And if you're not there, you won't be able to be a part of that. You'll be able to see it.
You'll be able to be like, oh yeah, I saw it the first time it came out, but you won't be able to be in it. You won't even be able to be there. You know what I mean? There's a difference in being there, isn't it? It's like seeing a game on TV versus being there, you know, at the game when the home run record is broken, you know, for, you know, again. You know, it's totally different hearing about it than seeing it, than seeing it in person, isn't it?
Well, you guys are going to get to be there. You're going to get to be there in the chairs. You're going to get to build the relationships. You're going to be able to have the conversations that you want to have with the people you want to have them with to get the results that you want in your business and your life. And if you're not there, you're just going to miss out on those breakthroughs. You're going to lose the breakthrough that's meant for you, and therefore that breakthrough will be taken and given to somebody else.
Because for some reason, that's how it works. You know what I mean? If you don't have the breakthrough that you're meant to have, it's just taken away and given to somebody else. And that's okay. I'll take your breakthrough if you want to give it to me, or I'll give it away to somebody else in the team. I'll help somebody else become a $10,000 a month earner.
I'll help somebody else be a $100,000 a month earner. I'll help somebody else be in the documentary. I'll help somebody else earn a million dollars if you don't want it, see our income disclosure. But the reality is, is that your breakthrough is at that event, whatever that breakthrough is. And I can't put a price tag on that because I don't know you and I don't know what your next shift is in your business. I can't put a price tag on it because I can't put a price tag on you because I think you're worth too much to that for me to put a dollar figure on you or something like that.
I think you're worth way more than a dollar figure that I can make up. I think you're worth everything that's in your heart. I think that you're worth everything that's in your vision. I think you're worth everything that you've dreamed and then more and then some beyond that because I believe that you're worthy and I believe that you have the power and I believe that you can be empowered to do this if you'll just make a decision to meet us in Asheville, if you'll pull out your credit card and buy your tickets right now and stop making excuses about it because you can make all sorts of excuses about it. But at the end of the day, it's just an excuse and excuses are actually just stemming from a disease which is excucitis, the failure disease. I don't know if you guys have ever read that book, The Magic of Thinking of Big.
But if you're going to make excuses for something, why not make excuses for why you have to buy your event ticket because otherwise you're going to miss out on your breakthrough. You can come up with a million good reasons for that. You know what I mean? You can come up with a million good ways of getting there. You can come up with a million good reasons for getting in the chair. It's not just about buying your ticket.
It's about being in the room the whole time. You know, I see sometimes people come to the events and they hang out in the hallway the whole time. It's like how are you going to have your breakthrough if you're not even sitting in your chair, if you're not even there listening, if your ears aren't open, how are you going to hear, right? You've got to be there, be in the chair and be listening and paying attention and that's exactly why right now if you haven't done it, you should decide to meet us in Asheville because that decision is important and you're worth it. So you should be at the event because you're worthy of the breakthrough that you're going to have if you're there. So that's what I want to say and that's kind of it.
I've got some exciting stuff planned for you that I've secretly hidden from you by turning the whiteboard away and I'm looking forward to meeting you guys in Asheville. John, back over to you. Thank you, Dave, for joining us and I appreciate you sharing with everyone the secret whiteboard that I have actually seen. I know what is going to be happening. For those of you that want to see that, the only way to see that is live and in the room. And I want to share with you the results of our lightning round tonight and this is amazing actually.
We had 18.78% people say that Aaron Rashkin was the winner. We had 18.78% say Silvio was the winner. So that would have been a tie. But then we had 62.44% people say that it was a tie. So not only was it a tie in the amount of people that voted for Silvio individually and Aaron individually, overall it was a tie. So if there's anything that we can be certain of is that Silvio and Aaron are both equally awesome and whichever path you choose, whether it is a good healthy breakfast, a solid exercise regimen and your morning marketing, or laptop in bed in pajamas over to your red couch office while watching TV in the background, the good news is you've got a path to success here with Empower Network.
And as Dave shared with you tonight, part of the magic, part of the results, part of the breakthroughs that Empower Network drives comes from one place and one place only and that is live events. As you heard Aaron Rashkin talk about tonight and his path to achieving his million dollar ring and as you heard Silvio talk about his path to opening up an entire country and getting closer to the million dollar ring every single day, live events have played an irreplaceable role in their growth, in their breakthroughs and in their journey to success. So if you're here for the first time and you've never checked out Empower Network before, I hope that tonight has given you a lot of takeaways and a lot of notes to be able to begin developing your million dollar habits, building your routines and building your process in a way that it becomes duplicatable, predictable and driving results in your business. If you've never joined Empower Network before, go ahead and click on that Join Empower Network now to plug into the most engaged community of entrepreneurs achieving results in home based business anywhere on the planet. And if you are in Empower Network and you want to see what Dave is working on, on that secret whiteboard, if you'd like to meet people like Aaron Rashkin and Silvio Fortunato in person and have the opportunity to get a picture with them and ask them how they've done what they've done, the only place to do that is in Nashville and those tickets are going to be going up. Right now they're only $197, that price will increase and we may sell out before we even have the opportunity to see that ticket price go up as we get closer to the event.
In addition, if you take advantage of the VIP option, you're going to be able to participate in a video sales documentary and a process that we are going to be creating live in that very event before your eyes as we not only make you an interactive part of the zero to top producer process as we train you to implement it, but you're going to be able to participate in the creation of one of the coolest pieces of marketing that we as a company have ever developed. Not to mention, you may get a hug from me personally, see our average hug disclaimer at EmpowerNetwork.com forward slash hugsfromjkron. Now that's not a real website, in case you don't know my sense of humor, if you go there, there's not actually a page regarding hugs from me. But that said, if you're serious about making 2015 the year that everything changed, the year that your business was never like it was before and driving more results, bigger commissions and more success with more free time, if it's the year you want to know that you woke up every morning with the freedom to make breakfast at your leisure and start your morning marketing uninterrupted or the year that you want to do experience the freedom of working in bed in your pajamas, moving over to the couch with the TV on in the background, either way, you can build a set of habits, build a strategy and a set of techniques around that to drive those results. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what Tactical Tuesday is all about. I appreciate having you join us tonight.
I appreciate all of our team helping us put this on. As all of you can imagine, the only reason it looks so effortless for us on this side of the screen is because we've got an unbelievable team of people making sure everything happens flawlessly in the background. I want to say thank you to our 900 or so closest friends of mine that have been with us on chat this evening. I will expect all of you to be in Nashville. I'd like to meet you personally. And I'd like you to tell me about the million dollar habits that you are going to be implementing in your life coming up here real soon.
So with that, ladies and gentlemen, have a wonderful Tuesday evening. We will see you for Affiliates All Access Thursday, where we're going to pull back the curtain and you're going to be able to ask some of our top earning affiliates about anything under the sun. Boxers or briefs, whatever questions you want to ask and inquiring minds want to know, we're going to be digging into it. So we'll talk to you soon. Take care, everybody. If we could show you how to make 2015 the year that you reclaimed control over your life and finances so you could stop worrying and start living the life you desire and deserve, would you be interested?
Hey, this is Jay Kronz, CEO of Empower Network, and if you answered yes, then I want you to pay close attention as you watch this short video. As I'm recording this video for you, the team is busy putting together the final event and promotional material for our Unleash event. You're going to be releasing it to the public very soon.
It's an unforgettable transformational experience that you will look back on for years to come and refer to it as your turning point or your breakthrough, as Dave Wood says. During this event, we will show you how to reclaim control over your life and business so you can start living life on your terms and not somebody else's. You're going to eradicate old habits and beliefs that are getting in the way of success in your business. Create a healthier work-life balance and spend more time doing what you love with the people you love. Maybe finally break free of that J-O-B or just over broke lifestyle and show you how to start making the money you deserve.
Now, the decision is a complete no-brainer. If you're the type of person who wants to amplify your vision and get clear on your goals, eliminate the harmful negative self-talk and baggage of the past that's preventing you from moving forward.
Multiply your value, get rid of that low-value stuff, and only do what you love. Reclaim your inner peace and your outer power, and massively upgrade your ability to contribute both on a personal and professional level, and get paid to do it too.
You immediately have that connection and that bond, because we're all here for a reason. We all have a story to share, and I think that's a beautiful thing. I've been searching for this all my life. Sometimes it's almost like a utopia, because you come here and people are just, they're so passionate and concerned about your well-being.
