Hey, what's going on, guys? Paulo C.Q. here. Cassandra Lee, and together we are The Power Couple. Welcome to the Inner Circle, guys, where we're talking to you, man, and we're excited, of course, because today we're going to be specifically talking about something so important, something that people always tell us.
Man, how are you guys so motivated? How are you guys so happy? How are you guys so energetic? What is it that you guys do? What do you guys drink?
What do you guys eat? Yeah, yeah, yeah. What do you want, right? Everyone always says that. I want to have what you're having.
Man, how to tap into your internal motivation. Why do people need to learn how to do this skill? I mean, seriously, there's so many times when life can hit you really hard, and you feel as though, why am I doing what am I doing again? Why am I here? Right?
You think, do I really have to do this right now? The comfort zone kicks in. The rational. Your rational thinking kicks in. Your finite mind, it kicks in, and you start thinking how or why you should continue forward.
Man, tapping to your internal motivation is what allows you to keep going. Now, I forgot who says this, but they say when motivation fails, right, when it dies out, what's left? Commitment. Your commitment. Your commitment.
So when we say tap into your internal motivation, it's really the commitment to continue forward. What do you think about me? I mean, some of you guys, what is a commitment that you guys cannot break, that is unacceptable for you to not keep your word in? Have you thought about that? Have you made a true commitment in your business?
Because until you make a real decision and a real commitment, not motivation, right, but until you decide to tap into your internal motivation. Which comes from having a commitment to something bigger than yourself, it's almost never going to happen. You're never going to succeed in business. You're never going to succeed in life. You're never going to amount to getting the money or the things that you want out of life until you tap into your internal motivation.
Yeah, seriously. And this is so powerful because commitment is unwavering dedication, okay? Motivation is the outward movement of what you're feeling. What you're feeling inside, okay? It's the motive.
That's why it's called motivation. It's the motive. It's the action. It's the movement of what you're feeling inside. So if you're committed to getting to point A, from point A to point B, right?
If you're committed to doing that, the motivation is the outward action of it. So how is this kind of like an oxymoron? Tapping into your internal motivation, your inside-outside movement, right? Well, there's... There's something that happens internally for things to be shown externally, okay?
Right? I used to say to people, man, just spend a day with me and I can tell you exactly what's going on inside. I can have a conversation with someone. I can tell you just about exactly what's going on the inside. Because people most of the time portray what they're feeding themselves inside, right?
Powerful. Their external behavior shows more or less. What's going on the inside. And so if you're not where you want to be, if you're in point A and you're not at point B just yet, it's because there's an internal conflict that you're having that's not allowing your external motivation to push through. So it has to deal with the commitment.
Are you committed to getting to where you want to go? Unwavering dedication, which means it doesn't matter what the day looks like. It doesn't matter what you feel like. It doesn't matter what anything is. Nothing matters.
The only thing that matters is you winning. And are you going to win? Are you going to win? It's that commitment. You know, Paolo and I have come face to face with this many times where it's like, oh, I mean, do we really want to take action right now?
Do we really feel like doing it? You know? And then there's a system of winning that you need to have that gets you out of that comfort zone that taps into your internal, your internal commitment that brings about an external motivation. And we begin to ask each other questions like, babe, where do you see your life being in the next year? Or describe a day in your ideal lifestyle.
Or tell me how the real Paolo CQ is. Tell me what he's like, right? And we start talking about the things that we want now, the things that we see ourselves being or having, or living, right? And the moment we begin to talk about those things, we realize how close they are because they're really only a decision away. They're an action away.
They are a choice away. And so immediately it taps into our internal commitment and brings about an external motivation to take action. I mean, that's exactly why we're doing these audios for you guys, man. Exactly. I mean, look, listen, look, how we get so excited.
We're so excited with even the things that we don't want to do because everything that we know we need to do, we need to accomplish. We don't see it as it is for, we don't see it for what it is. You know, we always see in every task and everything that we need to do as our dream. It's the craziest thing. Like, you know, even shooting these audios, we do not see them as just shooting audios.
We see them as our purpose, right? Everything we do has a meaning. We attach meaning to it. There's an intention, yeah. We attach a meaning to it, right?
It serves a greater purpose than just audios. It serves a greater purpose than just blogging. It serves a greater purpose than just writing a post on Facebook, right? It has a meaning which serves a greater purpose. And that purpose is what we really believe is what we've been called to do.
And that's how we go about our day, right? And that's cool, man, that you said that. I was actually having a conversation with this guy, you know, who's a fitness guy. And, you know, he was like an American Ninja Warrior. And, you know, he's done a few things.
This guy's pretty cool. He said something about how he makes exercising fun. Like, he just has to make it fun, enjoyable, you know? And it means a lot because you think about it, every action he takes towards becoming more athletic, stronger, tone, agile, right? Every action he takes towards that is with the intention of enjoying the process.
So let me ask you, you know, when you talk about building your business, is it in a way as, dang, this is work? Is it a thought of serving you or pulling you down? How do you think about the actions that you need to take to grow your business? Because if it's a thought process that is weighing you down or burdening you, of course the commitment or the motivation to get it done isn't there. It's not there.
You've got to have a purpose and intention for why you... Why you're going to build a funnel, right? Why you're going to do that. Why you're going to blog. Why are you going to self-develop?
Why are you going to listen to this audio? Why are you going to take action? What is the purpose behind every action that you do? One thing that you need to understand is that every action that you take eventually pays you. Eventually will pay you.
And so everything that you do has to have a purpose, but it has to go towards the direction of where you're headed. That's why it's so important to stay focused. Did you know that? Did you know that? The hardest thing to do in life is to stay focused.
It's one of the hardest things, which really isn't hard. I mean, it's really easy. It's just that as human beings, it is so easy for us to get distracted. It's so easy for us to get comfortable. I mean, it's right there.
I mean, we can just sit down on the couch, put the TV on, and that's it. I mean, we can turn on our iPads, and we can get access to millions of shows, millions of movies, right? But at the end of the day, none of that's going to give us access to the life that we truly want, right? But did you know that the things that are... The things that are easy not to do are also easy to do?
Like, it's so easy to turn on the TV, but it's so easy to turn it off. It's so easy to watch a movie, but it's so easy to listen to an audio. It's so easy to take no action, but it's so easy to take action. It's so easy to listen to the radio in the car, and then instead of just replacing it with something more educational. It's easy.
I see it thousands of times, and I see it over and over, that if people just decided to just do the things that they needed to do, right, instead of putting them off and procrastinating, then things would never feel like work. Look, listen. One thing I've learned from a lot of people, I don't know who mentioned this, but someone, I heard this, and they said, man, they said, look, listen. The reason why people look at their business as work is because they never passed through the threshold of it being work and them actually accomplishing and it becoming a reward, right? I mean, that's the only reason why you look at it as work, man.
If you work your business the same way you go to work, which is never giving it 110%, right, it's always going to feel like work. But if you push past the fact that it's work, you push past that and you give 1,000%, you will always find a reward at the end of the day. Absolutely. And it's a reward that makes what you do not feel like work, right? And, you know, that's the truth.
That's what it comes down to, right? I mean, are you looking at what you're doing as work or are you looking at it as a reward? It should always be a reward. I mean, that's the reason why we continue what we keep doing, right? And it should be the same reason why you do it, right?
Just push through. Keep going past the phase of just feeling like work and actually accomplish something and make it feel like it's a reward in your life. Absolutely, man. It's so simple, man. It is so simple.
You just have to be so connected to the reasons why you're doing what you're doing in the first place. You have to be so connected to your why, to your vision, to your dream. Exactly. Exactly. Because the more connected you are to those things, the more hungry you are to doing whatever it takes, to having the motivation within you to go out and pursue it.
Exactly. Like, it really goes down to that, guys, man. It's so easy and simple, man. I don't understand why, as human beings, we have to complicate everything. Like, there's no need for that.
There's no need for it. There's no need for that. No need for the complications. All it is just, man, do you want what you want? How bad do you want it?
Then go get it. Let's do it. Come on. Let's do it. Just go get it.
Let's go out there and let's get it, man. It doesn't matter how comfortable you are, how, oh, man, but it's so hard and this. No, no, no, no, no, no. The thing you need to think about is do you want to make today count in getting you closer or further away? Which one?
Which one? Because each thing that you're going to do is either going to get you closer to where you want to go or pull you further away. Closer to where you want to go. Or pull you further away. Which one is it?
Which one is it going to be? Are you going to make today pull you further or closer? Because then let me ask you something. How much closer do you think you could have been towards the goals that you have? I'm sure you can think of countless of opportunities that you had to make the day count in getting you closer to your goal.
How many levels of success have you prolonged? Because you weren't willing to stay committed. You see, guys, it's so easy to say. I'm going to do something or to get something done. It's managing the decision to do it consistently that's hard for some people.
But it shouldn't be. Because if you pretended that today was the first day you made the decision, then you would always stay consistent. Seriously. If you made today the first day you committed to a decision, and every single day you made it like that, it'd be easy. It's kind of like when people get married, right?
Oh, but you're in the honeymoon stage. Please, why the heck? What does that even mean? The honeymoon stage. No, man.
If every day was the first day we committed, there's no honeymoon stage. It's just keep going. Right? If every day was the first day we committed. And it is, though.
Let me ask you something. Have you ever lived on... January 1st, 2015? No, you haven't. Unless you're listening to this past then.
Right? The day you're... What day is today? I want you to say the date out loud. What?
Is it December what? Or is it January what? What date is today? I want you to say the month, the date, and the year. Tell me what it is.
Have you ever lived on that day? You haven't. Therefore, it's a brand new day. It is the first day that you lived on this date. Therefore, the commitments and the decisions that you make...
...today are always fresh and always new. You can't get comfortable with that, man. Tapping to your internal motivation is understanding that concept... ...and saying today is a brand new day. I've never lived this day.
And I am and I will make this day the best day... ...so that it will get me closer to where I need to go. Bam. I mean, it's... Yeah, I mean, look, listen.
It's that simple. It's as simple as that. I really believe that when it comes to just tapping into your internal motivation... ...number one, you're one decision away from it. Number two, you need to attach a meaning to something.
Number three, you need to attach a meaning to something. Attach a meaning to your work. It needs to be so painful to you... ...that not winning, not getting closer to your dreams and goals... ...is completely 100% unacceptable.
Until it becomes unacceptable... ...and you live a life of just not accepting your excuses... ...not accepting what life throws at you. If you live a life that way, you will get closer to your dreams. Absolutely.
You'll be able to tap into your internal motivation. You'll be able to start... You'll be able to get... You'll be able to get this thing going, okay? Because that's what you need to do.
You need to get this thing going. The hardest thing is to just get it started. The hardest thing is to just get moving, get rolling. But the moment you start moving and rolling, things become a lot easier. The moment you start to flow, nothing can stop you, okay?
The moment you start to run, ain't nobody stopping you now... ...because now you're off and you're ready to go, right? So you have to be willing to do this. You know, I was talking to one of my... ...one of our former students, and he's a black belt, right?
We used to run a martial arts school. One of the things that I was telling him, I'm like, yo, dude, you know... ...is it really true that, you know, you had to... ...if you just read a book and you wrote an essay on it? And he's like, yeah.
I was like, dude, how come you didn't do it? And he's like, well, you see, it was a great deal, but, you know... ...just the... When I hear the word but, it's like, all right, I get this. I see where this is going.
This ain't going nowhere. Like, you're making excuses already. Yep. You know, the word but, it's like it negates everything from being true. It just kills it, right?
So... So one of the things that I was talking to him, I was like, dude, I mean... You're telling me you could have made more than what the average... ...more than what the average American makes per month... ...and you could have done it overnight.
And you chose not to do it. Why is that? He's like, well, you know, just give me a bunch of excuses, right? I said, dude, I mean, what does... I mean, why do you even want money for, man?
Like, what's the reason why you want it? And he's like, well, I need to survive. I need to eat food. I need to... I need to survive.
I'll die if I don't have money. He's like, dude, no, you won't. Like, if they take the money right now, your parents will feed you. You'd still be okay. And then he looks at me a little strange and he's like, well, I mean, well, why do you want the money, dude?
Like, why do you want it? And he's like, well, because it's valuable. Because, you know, people need it. I mean, it's what people need when they get older. Nothing was touching them to the heart.
Nothing. Nothing. I mean, I tried to figure out why he wanted this. You asked me that. Go ahead.
Right? And then I finally said, dude, let me ask you something, dude. See that black belt you got on you? What if I just grabbed that black belt and I burnt it? Just threw it in the fire.
You would let me do that? And he's like, no, of course. I finally got an emotional response. No, I wouldn't let you do that. I was like, why?
Because it means, you know, this is my hard work right here. This is what that means to me, okay? It's everything I've done. I mean, I was like, dude, but if I gave you another one, it wouldn't be the same? He's like, no.
So what does your black belt mean to you? And then all of a sudden, he got in a hot moment. Ah. It's like, dude, you see how you've attached meaning to your black belt? You see how you've put a meaning towards it?
So much so that anytime someone goes near it and wants to grab it from you and burn it, you fight them for it. Dude, that's the same way you need to treat this. You see what you're doing right now? Right? You see those master cards you're doing?
You need to put meaning to it. The reason why you need to accomplish it is because that's how it should mean to you. Every time you don't get it done, someone's grabbing your black belt and they're going to throw it and burn it. You see that book that you still haven't read? Every time you don't read it and every time you just leave it on the desk and do absolutely nothing with it, someone's grabbing your black belt and they're throwing it out for you.
Because, dude, the truth is that people are grabbing. They're grabbing and they're stealing your time. They're robbing you from your dreams. And eventually they will rip your black belt off your stomach and they'll burn it. How do you feel now?
And he was like, I get it. I get it. And guys, look, listen. The truth is people are robbing your time, okay? Because if you're not building your dream, you're building someone else's, okay?
Wow. People are taking stuff from you every single day. And you're letting them walk away with a little bit of your dream. You're letting them walk away with a little bit of your time. And eventually that compounds over time into it being your entire life that people will rob from you.
Until you put a meaning and you put something and you decide to give something meaning. Because, look, whenever you give something a meaning, it becomes life. You breathe life into it if you look at it, right? It's like you can take the most useless thing and if you put a meaning towards it, it becomes, it comes to life. You know, everybody wants to be wealthy.
But not everyone is. Not everybody is willing to work hard for it. Not everybody is willing to work for it. Which goes to show the answer to becoming wealthy is one thing. Work hard for it, man.
That is so silly to say, man. It's, oh, man, people got lucky. Oh, but I do work hard. I've done X, Y, and Z and I'm still broke. Or I've done all of this and I still haven't seen a result.
Well, the answer is not what you've done. It's are you still doing it? Because, look, the problem isn't the actions. It's the people that don't keep doing them. You got to keep it on.
It's like so crazy how people think that there's a secret to being wealthy or successful. Exactly. It's working hard. Do you have the commitment to have unwavering dedication to go forward with what you want? Can you tap into your internal motivation at any moment?
Can you do that? I mean, what do you want, man? It's simple, guys. Just do it. Just go for it.
Non-stop. Just go and do it. Tap into your internal motivation. Remind yourself why you're doing what you're doing. Push forward.
Work hard. And you will be where you want to be in no time, guys. That's pretty much it. That's it. This is The Power Couple.
