Practicality dictates that everyone's results will vary as we are all unique and different. Basically, it takes hard work to make a substantial income in this business, and some people will make no money at all. The earnings of an Empower Network affiliate will be 100% dependent upon their skills, work effort, commitment, leadership capabilities, and market conditions. Common sense would suggest that in most opportunities, one would find exceptional individuals performing well above average, while others perform under the average. Empower Network does not guarantee any level of income or your success.

All right, guys, this is Dave Wood, and I'm especially excited today for this Inner Circle interview. This is Chris Campbell. He's on the phone. And if you guys don't know Chris Campbell, it's just because you haven't logged into Empower Network and ever looked at the leaderboards.

He's actually, I believe, the number two right now all-time income earner. By the time that you listen to this interview, he may be number one because he's actually encroaching quite quickly on L-TAM, who's held that spot since launch. But they actually won our affiliate contest. As you guys know, we just ran a three-week-long affiliate contest. And he won against over 20,000 affiliates that we've got here.

A lot of people, they don't think about that number. But if you're in a competition against 20,000 people and you win, it means that you're good because we've got some great marketers here and a lot of people who are making money. So Chris Campbell and his partner, Chris Jones, Chris Jones is on the call. They both know an incredible amount that I can learn from that you could learn from. So I'd recommend that you don't just listen to this audio interview, that you listen to it two, three, four, five times over and over and over again.

And we're actually going to get him out on some more bonus training in the 15K per month formula as well. So that being said, Chris, let's start off here. Why don't you tell people a little bit about your background, your story, how you got involved in the home business and the direct sales niche, and what kind of led you to Empower Network and what you see here for you and your business partner, but also just what you see as kind of a long-term potential here and why you're here. So is that a good place to start? Yeah, absolutely.

And Dave, thanks for getting me on this call. I appreciate it. It's obviously an honor to be on this call for what I believe to be one of the best, if not the best companies out there and one of the best opportunities to make a full-time living, working part-time. So, again, thanks for having me out here. But, yeah, you know, I remember, gosh, I was probably six or seven years old, and I remember my parents, you know, people knocking on the door, coming over, and sitting at the dining room table talking about one of the oldest network marketing companies out there.

I won't mention it, but... Does it rhyme with Ramway? I'm just curious. Yeah, it rhymes with Ramway, and I think they came out with Quickstar and all that other stuff. But, okay, so we will mention it.

I remember Amway sitting at my... My dining room table. So, I've been around the industry, and I've seen it since I was a little kid. But the funny thing is, I would see my parents dabble in these network marketing companies and never make a dime. In fact, I remember that they would go around church and tell their friends and family members, and they would make a few bucks here and there just because they had a warm market.

And then once they expired that warm market, they weren't making any money. So, man, I remember being around it. Basically, my entire life, but never seeing any substantial success with it. But it always planted that seed in my mind that I knew that, hey, there's potential. All these guys...

And here I am, you know, a little kid with just coins in my bank, and I was like, man, that's crazy to make that kind of money. So, man, it was, what, the summer of 95 or so. I was... It was summer break, 7th or 8th grade. I remember my dad came home early from work on a Friday afternoon, and one of the hardest things that he ever had to do was sit me down with my three sisters and my mom and explained to us how he lost his job, a company he had worked for, an orthopedic company.

My dad has a four-year degree. My mom has a four-year degree. Both very talented. My dad is just ridiculously talented. He's built homes.

He's built garages. He's torn cars apart, put them back together. Incredibly artistic. He's a graphic design artist by trade. That's what he was doing.

Working for this major orthopedic company for 22 years. Basically dedicated his life to this company. And one afternoon, in a big company-wide layoff, they let off my dad. So he had to come home, struggle to tell us how he lost his job, didn't know what he was going to do, but he was going to do anything and everything that he could to make sure that we still had a good life. And that just sent my family on a complete rollercoaster ride, where my dad has jumped around from second-shift job to third-shift job.

Still, to this day, hasn't been able to... to find full-time work. And so I went through high school with a completely different lifestyle. My dad had a good job, and we lived a comfortable life. But then all of a sudden, back in 1995 or so, everything just changed and didn't have the things that we wanted anymore.

We were lucky to have the things that we needed. So I thought, you know, everybody's ingrained with this mentality. If you've got to go to school, you've got to go to college. You've got to get a degree so you can get a good job. And for those that do have a college degree, that's great, that's something more than I have, because after one year of college, I dropped out.

I saw...it just haunted me what happened to my dad. And for me, personally, I saw that college was just something that was going to program me to be a slave for somebody else and work somebody else's time schedule, be where they wanted me to be, wear what they wanted me to wear, not be able to afford a vacation, not be able to have the time to take a vacation because I was too busy working for $10, $11 an hour, if I could even find a job, you know, out of college. And so for me, with the state of the economy, and everything that was just in the dumps, I said, you know what, screw this. That was my mentality. I said, you know what, college is not for me.

So I dropped out. I knew that there were opportunities out there. I knew that there were ways for me to make money because I'd seen other people that were no smarter than me, no smarter than anybody else listening to this interview right now. So I said, you know what, I'm just going to quit. I'm going to walk away from school, and I'm going to find my own way.

And, of course, success obviously didn't just fall on my lap. I had to move back home with my parents. I waved my white flag and surrendered, and I got a job delivering pizzas. All right, so here I am, 20, 21 years old, the coolest 21-year-old ever because here I am living with my parents delivering pizzas. And so I had a reality check after about six months of delivering pepperoni pizzas and walking home, or not walking home, but driving home in my 89, rusted-out, piece-of-crap Buick Skylark.

It was a reality. It was a reality check because here I am in my Domino's pizza-splattered shirt saying, Christopher, how are you going to be able to support a family down the road? How are you going to be able to support a wife and kids when you're here delivering pizzas? You don't have anything going for you. Little did I know I'd be talking about right now because I have a one-month-old.

But so I had a flashback to all these people that were talking about making this crazy money in the home business industry. And so I began dabbling around, playing around. I would take my $300 or $400 paycheck, including tips, from delivering pizzas. And I would start playing around with home-based businesses. And I jumped around from business to business thinking the next business would be better than the next.

And it wasn't. I began putting a few bucks here and there into marketing. And, of course, I lost money. And this seems to be a very popular story in the home-based business industry, of people jumping in business and then going to the next thing thinking it's going to be the biggest, best, greatest thing out there. And then they don't make money, so they jump to the next thing.

And they just get burned. They get burned and burned again, trying different things, thinking that it's going to work for them. And so, for me, what I found out is that it's not necessarily the business. It's not the gurus out there that are going to help you. What you have to really do is invest in yourself.

You have to be determined. And so I just stuck with it. I didn't give up. People talk about how there are secrets in this industry. And, really, it's just a matter of being persistent, persevering, and not giving up.

Because succeeding, there's a fine line between not succeeding and succeeding. And when you find that line, when you cross that line there, success happens almost overnight. Because it's a matter of weeding out the things that don't work and then doing the things that do work. When you find the things that do work, it's almost like the floodgates open and success happens very, very quickly. And that's how it happened for me back in 2006.

I was basically making no money. I went from 2004 to 2006, jumping around from business to business, not making any money, struggling, and couldn't pay my bills. Almost, almost kicked out of my parents' house because I was basically a loser, is what I was. And then all of a sudden, in 2007, January of 2007, it clicked. It happened for me because I found something.

I found a website. I found an opportunity. I found a business that worked. It converted. And then with all of my years of learning from the school of hard knocks with marketing, I finally found a few good sources, a few good avenues, that worked, that drove genuine traffic to that offer that I had.

And in January of 2007, I won't mention any dollar figures, but I did have a five-figure month in January of 2007. I know that's hard to digest, but it's the real story of what happened to me. And it was just a matter of finding something that worked, a good, genuine business, and then finding some good leads, some good avenues of marketing, and then wash, rinse, repeat. You do it. You do it over and over again.

And so that's kind of my story there of where I came from, Dave. Hopefully, I didn't go too long on that. No, no. I mean, it sounds a lot like my story, actually. And it sounds like you dropped out of college.

I dropped out of college, too, after a year. Joined Ramway and then failed for a while. So, no, it's a similar story. And a lot of people know this is good. And it's good to hear because a lot of people, they're failing for whatever reason.

Even here at Empower Network, there's people who obviously don't get in and they don't succeed instantly. And they wonder why. And they say, what's the difference between me and this other person? Well, it's like, well, we failed more in the beginning. And then we figured it out.

And luckily, here they have better marketing education. If I had this education when I started, I would have never failed. So it's a fascinating story. So let's get into what you're doing right now with Empower. Obviously, you came into here with a little bit of a different knowledge, a skill set.

You were advanced when you got here. Not everybody who joins Empower Network has the background that you have. So we're going to be speaking maybe to a little bit of a different audience. But why don't we talk a little bit about, because you guys do, you guys market at a totally different level than almost everybody in Empower Network. There's a couple of people that might be on a par with you.

But you guys have this skill of really scaling out your business just to a level that most people don't do. I know you're doing direct mail, magazine ads. You've got PPC going, media buys going. It's absolutely unbelievable. All the things that you guys have your hands in.

So talk to us a little bit about, we're just going to start generic, start broad, and then we'll go into specific. Talk to us about what is your favorite lead generation strategy right now that you guys are using. Maybe you don't have one. We'll start somewhere around there. There's lots of different avenues that I like.

But I've got to say that my favorite is probably what's responsible for my success. I was talking about how I had my success breakthrough back in January of 2007. And that was with One Avenue and One Avenue Only. And it was an avenue called Solo Ads, which a solo ad is simply, it's similar to like an easy ad if everyone knows what that is. But a solo ad is essentially, well, let's say you have an autoresponder list that has 5,000 people on it.

Then with a solo ad, you can, I'm sorry, with your list, you can rent it out essentially to other affiliate marketers. And so you can say, you know what, I'll let you send an ad out to my entire database for 50 bucks. Well, on the flip side of that, I was the affiliate marketer, and I would find all these people out there renting their list, and for 50, 100, 100 bucks or so, or sometimes even cheaper than that, I would send out my ad to their database that they have worked and put blood, sweat, and tears in the building. And then they rent it out to me for just a few bucks, and I send out my ad to their entire database. So Dave, obviously you know what a solo ad is, but I have to explain that.

For those that don't, so that's what I started with, with solo ads. And so I've got to say that while I love all kinds of marketing because it's not just solo ads that I do now, but that was what is responsible for my success. And you always kind of have a soft spot, a sweet spot, for what's responsible for a revolution or something that changes your life that's drastically to change mine. So I would say that's probably one of my favorites. It's almost fail-proof, and it's something that's easy to get plugged into, something that anybody can do.

Yeah, you know, and I've told a few people about this because for me, I never did any kind of paid ads. I started with free stuff because I was broke, and I didn't know how easy a lot of this paid stuff was and how cheap it was. I mean, solo ads, I mean, I could get leads all day and night for 30 cents each doing solo ads, and most people just don't know. Really, it's one of the most unbelievably easy things on the planet. But it's fascinating to hear that because I'm hearing that more and more from people that a lot of people have breakthroughs.

And what I always think about it, like if you send a solo ad and somebody clicks on an email, you're getting leads that have a lot of breakthroughs. You don't have real email addresses that actually click on emails. It's actually a pretty good lead to have. So I like that strategy as well. So you got started in solo ads, and talk to me.

Let's start there. Let's talk a little bit about solo ads. And if anybody here is listening to this audio, if you want to know more about solo ads, we have some proven places to place solo ads in a webinar in the 15K formula. Maybe we can even pull you on for a bonus training, Chris, and talk a little bit about some of your strategies there on where you find some places, some sources that you have. We'll talk about some of the other direct responses.

We'll talk about some of the other stuff that you do. But what are some of the common mistakes that you see people making in solo ads? And what are some of the things that you've done to make it to where when you send solo ads out, you get higher conversions and more leads? Sure. Yeah, there's three parts to a solo ad.

And if you overlap any of those parts, that's where I see people. That's the first mistake I see people make, is trying to overlap the three parts of a solo ad. The first part, like I explained, the solo ad, it's essentially it goes out in an email format to someone's entire database. And so there's three parts to a solo ad. The first part is the subject line, since it's going out in the form of an email.

So you've got a subject line, you've got a body, and then you've got a call to action, which is typically a website. It could be like a recorded hotline or something. But in the case of Empower Network and most of the current new age businesses out there, it's going to be a website. And so the most important part is to let each part of the solo ad play its specific role. Okay?

What's the purpose of a subject line? It's simply to get the email open, to get your ad open. The more opens you have, obviously, the more people are going to read your email or your advertisement. So keep in mind that the most important part of the subject line is just to grab someone's attention. You don't need to mention business names.

You don't need to mention the cost. You don't need to be putting web addresses or anything. And I see it's crazy. A lot of people will say, well, why would you do that? But you'd be surprised how many people I see screw up, a solo ad starting with the subject line, and then the rest of the solo ad is out the window.

So let the subject line do its part. And the best thing you can do is go through your junk mail, go through one of your email addresses that just gets slammed nonstop, and pick out some of your favorite subject lines, the ones that call you to take action, the ones that call you to open them up. That's the best thing you can do is create a swipe file. Okay? Open up a notepad file or a text file, and some of the most powerful subject lines, the ones that get you to open, if you open them, then odds are someone else is going to open them.

So the subject line is just that purpose only, to get someone to open your ad, to get someone to open that email. Then the next part is the body of that email. And the most important thing to do here is just to get a call to action. Keep it short and sweet. You don't want someone to read a whole book, because as time progresses, more and more people have ADD like myself, and you don't want people to read the first line, and see that it's an entire novel that they're going to have to read to get to the good stuff, and they're going to click out.

That's what I do. So keep it short and sweet, to the point, something that's exciting, and again, create a swipe file. Go through these emails, and if there's a line here or a paragraph here, put it in your swipe file for things that you can use. You know, I don't encourage copyright infringement, of course, but it's okay to use bits and pieces and little tag lines and little parts of emails, and then kind of put them together and splice and make up your own. That's totally fine.

And so that was one of the things that I would do is I would go through, and I would say, you know what? Okay. That's really catchy. I like that. So keep the body of that message as short as possible to convey your message as well as possible, and then you have your call to action.

And if it's a website, you'll typically want to put it somewhere towards the middle, somewhere towards the top or middle to start with. So that way, if it is someone who has severe ADD, and they can't even get through, you know, a couple of short paragraphs, then they'll still see a website there. It'll give them action, something that they can do instead of just clicking out of your email. And then, you know, before your signature there, put the, you know, the domain name again, and I'll usually put a little short PS tagline and then put the domain name under that. So I always put my call to action in there at least two or three times, and then once they, once they click your call to action, then your solo ADD is basically done.

It's done its job. Okay. A solo ADD is just to get somebody to your website or to your offer or whatever that may be. So that's the biggest mistake that I see, and that's the most important part of a solo ADD, is let each specific part of the solo ADD do its own job. Okay.

I got you. So. So, so let's focus here just for a second there. A lot of people, and a lot of people make mistakes. They think the email is there to sell in the email, and especially if you're emailing somebody else's list that you can't email again unless you pay them another 500 bucks or 1,000 bucks or 50 bucks or whatever it is, it's not a good idea because you, you want to get them to your site.

So the purpose of the, the ADD then, the headline is to get them to open it. The body is to get them to click the link, and then the website does the job. That's what you're saying. That's all the purposes. Exactly.

Yep. Website does the selling and telling. Don't mention. Don't mention cost. I mean, the nice thing about Empower Network is it is so, the blogging platform is 25 bucks a month, and that's so cheap.

So, you know, definitely play on that. Take the advantages of Empower Network over the competition where, where a lot of the other businesses out there, you might have a $1,000 price point just to get your foot in the door, whereas Empower Network is only 25 bucks. So you can mention something about how this is, this is one of the best yet cheapest opportunities or cheapest businesses out there to get started. You know, a mom of, with three, three kids. And on welfare or, or on food stamps can afford this.

You know, play on those angles, but there's no need to really mention cost or any details. Yeah. Like, like you said, Dave, let the website do the selling and telling. That's what the site is there for, not the email or not the solo ad. Okay.

Great. Great. And, and this is, I love this strategy. I don't want to get too deep into it just because of the fact that the, the, to really get really deep into solo ads, you just kind of need to be a little bit visual and it's not going to be ideal for an audio setting, but, but guys, if you're listening to this audio, I've got a challenge for everybody listening to this. Go through webinar four of the 15 K formula.

We're going to get you out here. Actually. There's another guy fascinatingly enough. I was just interviewing last week. His primary strategy he's been using for seven years has been solo ads.

So he's going to come on and do a training on that as well, but go through webinar for the 15 K formula. I challenge you place a solo ad today, place a solo ad today. Just do it. Make a mistake. It's a, it's a great strategy.

I generated my first month. You'll, you'll love this. I generated leads for 40 cents each. My first month I ever tried solo ads. I generated, I think 8,000.

Leads for 40 cents each. So it was, it was the, the, one of the cheapest things I've ever done and they all converted. It was amazing. So, so what you've kind of evolved a little bit and I, and when I have, whenever I look at your marketing, you're everywhere, you're in direct mail, you're in magazines. I just talking to you about a guy that, you know, Chuck Marshall, who did a webinar on magazine ads and you're like, oh, I do magazine ads too.

So you're all over the place. So how did you go from evolving from, you know, solo ads and having your first little bit of success with leads? I mean, you're in CPA networks, you're, you're doing PPC, you've got, you know, media buys going on. I don't even know all the stuff that you're doing. I didn't even know that some of it existed.

So how did you evolve and what's next for somebody after they start having success? Well, you know, one of the biggest things that I realized in this industry and I learned it early on, I guess it was after a couple of years of struggling, but I realized that there's no such thing as failing in this industry. It's just quitting and giving up because if you, if you move, if you push yourself forward long enough and hard enough, you're going to find the things that work. You're going to learn the things that don't. Fortunately, with something like Empower Network, you guys, there's such, there's such amazing training here that it can steer you away from the things that don't work and into the things that do work.

But what I realized is that if you don't do anything, you're not going to make any money. A lot of people I'll see, they'll, they'll get paralysis by analysis and they won't do anything. And so they obviously don't make any money. And that's, those are the things that I learned. Those are the people who complain and, and they're, they're a thorn in my side and everybody all, you know, anybody else is making money that they experienced the same thing.

So if you don't do anything, you're not going to make money. It never ceases to amaze me that the people will expect to buy a good product. They'll, they'll join a great business with a great affiliate program and then they'll do nothing because they expected for millions to just fall on their lap out of the sky. And so like I said, that never ceases to amaze me. So doing nothing yields.

No results. But on the other, on the flip side of that, doing big things is going to yield big results. And so I, I realized after a couple months of just doing solo ads, I said, you know what, if I really want to scale this, this up and if I want to go, go big with this thing and go all in, then I've got to do some, I've got to diversify and I've got to do other things. And so while I was doing my solo ads, I kept doing them. But while I was doing my solo ads, the next medium that I dabbled in was, was pay per click PPC.

Okay. And that's. So typically, search engines and you can, you can do some pay per click inside of social media networks like, like Facebook. and I think I'm not real familiar with LinkedIn and Twitter and those, those other ones if they offer pay per click, but, but, nonetheless search engines and, and social media, you can get into pay per click where you're paying for each person that clicks onto your website. And if you have a good website, it's compelling and converting and you're targeting right with your, with your pay per click campaigns, then you're going to get niche traffic, niche visitors.

You're going to see great results happen from that. So I realized that if I wanted to go bigger and I wanted more money than I had to diversify and I had to do more, the more you do, the more you put in is the more you make. And you think of it just, just like, some big store, we'll say like Walmart for instance, when are they going to make more money when they have 10 people in their store throughout the entire day or when they have a thousand or 10,000 people like throughout the holidays, maybe, in, in a single day, well, obviously they, they have a great storefront. It sells automatically. They don't, they don't need people.

They don't need people on the phone calling and selling and everything, which is, which I like to correlate to, when you have a good business like a power network, it sells and tells 40 automatically. But then when you have more visitors on your website, are you going to make more money when you have 10 people down your website or when you have a hundred or a thousand eyeballs on your website a day, obviously the, you know, it's a rhetorical question, the more people you have on your website is the more money you're going to make assuming it's a, it's a good website. so I, so with that realization, that's when I, I said, you know what, if, if I want to really be a rock star here and I want to make the big bucks, then I just have to do more. That's all it is. There's no secret.

It's just simply doing more. Taking more action is going to put more money in my pocket, and I'm going to be happier driving to the bank. So I decided to go out and dabble in pay per click and yeah, I, I wasted a couple hundred bucks and probably even more. I might've even wasted 500 to a thousand bucks, but you know what? I was doing my solo ads all the while making great money with my solo ads so I could afford at this time.

and at this point in my, my whole business career. I could afford to go out there and waste a few bucks into other marketing. Whereas typically I was, I was scared because I didn't have that kind of money to waste. And so I started very, very conservative with solo ads, spending just a few bucks here and there. And when that started working for me, then I began reinvesting that money.

And most of what I made in the beginning, I put back into my business and that was the best thing I could do for my business was to feed it and put more marketing out there. So I started playing around with, with, with pay per click and then I started going into. I started doing magazine advertising and I started doing some offline stuff and that's when I started doing direct mail as well. And it just kind of evolved from there. So it was really just a realization that if I want to make more, I have to do more.

So, I would find something that works, I would keep doing it. And then I, when that would, when that started working for me, I would just simply, rinse, wash, wash, rinse, repeat. And then, I would be on the lookout, the search. I never gave up. I would always search for something else to drive more traffic to my website.

And that's one, like I said, I went into. the, the magazine ads, direct mail started doing classifieds and newspapers and then I began diversifying with my, my online marketing too. So, so, so real quick and I, and I'm just, I just want to go back into this real quick because this is something that very few people do and all, all the people that I know that do it make a lot of money, okay? And that's reinvesting back into marketing when you get money. We always tell people to do that here.

I think it's one of the unique things about Empower Network because most people don't tell people to do that. they expect you to learn them on their own and, and if you're listening to this audio, you need to be taking your money that you earn and putting it back into marketing. If you want to keep making more money and if you don't want to keep making more money, it's fine. You're welcome to stay stagnant. If you want to grow, you got to do this.

So w we always say 20% at least and I know the reality is, is that most people who, have huge organizations, they spend more than that on marketing and it varies from person to person. Do you take 10%, 20%, 30? What do you usually do? you know, there's a couple different options. It depends on if you're trying to, if you're trying to build your business or if you're just trying to sustain your business.

In the very beginning, I wanted to, to go, to go all out. I wanted to put as much money as I could back in. So I was putting probably 70 to 80% of my money back in, in the very beginning. Okay. Because I didn't want this to be a hobby.

I wanted to take this seriously. And if I have any secret, that's what it is right there. I took almost all my money and put it back in. I didn't put it in my pocket or blow it. You know, you hear about these people who win the lottery and then they're broke two years later because they spent all that money and it was something new to them.

They didn't know what to do with it. So they blew it all and then it's gone. Well, with, with, with seeing, seeing all those people do that, I was like, you know what? I need to take all this money, almost all of it, 70, 80% put it back in. And I only did that for the first couple of months.

And then, to keep, to continue building. I would say, I would say I probably put about 20 to 30% back in after my first couple of months. And now, it's probably around the 20% mark to anywhere. I don't know my exact numbers, but I would say 20 to 25% of what I make goes straight back into marketing, to, to keep, keep everything rolling. Well, that's a great perspective.

And a lot of people, again, that they just don't do this. And so, you're saying in the beginning you took 70, 80%, 90% of, I mean, as much as you possibly could, and then you kind of toned it down to 30, 40% and then toned it down again, just to keep growing. Now you're maybe, maybe 15, 20%, something like that. Maybe 30% goes back into marketing to grow the engine. And folks, I want you to think about those numbers there for a second.

It's just what we've been teaching you. But also, you gotta, you gotta think in your business when you, when you make a hundred dollars, do you want it to turn into 400 to turn to 800 to turn in 1600 to turn into a hundred thousand? Or do you want to go, you know, spend it on, on pizza or whatever, right? And, and most people, they just take it and they're like, woohoo, I just got a commission and they, they go buy themselves an Xbox, you know, or whatever it is. And then they're like, crap, I can't spend any money on marketing.

And then they struggle. This is the way to not struggle. It's to reinvest constantly. And eventually, you know, you get to a spot like you're at, like I'm at, you know, where we'll have hundreds of thousands of dollars coming over the course of a month through all the things that we're doing. And then we'll, we have this massive, unbelievable advertising budget and it just would, it would, it would scare people if I said the number, but then, you know, they, they, they were taking that and reinvesting it and we grew it to that from growing.

We didn't start there. So I think that's an important perspective and it's, it's, it's really valuable. And I think if you're listening to this audio, the best thing you could do is go place your first ad, go place your first solo ad, go through webinar four, place your first PPC ad, just do it your first time, start conservatively and then test and see what works. And when you do that repeat, and I think that's the formula, wash, rinse, repeat. So you, you started doing that, you started scaling and then you got into print media, direct mail.

you're doing, you're doing magazine ads, you're doing solo ads, you're doing, we don't want to talk about the telemarketing fiasco there, but you guys have been all over the place. So, so where do you see, what's your, what's you guys' goal with all this? Where are you headed in 2012? What's kind of your vision for what you want to accomplish with your team here at empower? Yeah.

Well, let me, just for a quick 30, 60 seconds, piggyback what you were just saying. And then, then we'll get into that. the, the, the cool thing about. About knowing the right things to do and where to go for advertising and driving these leads is now it's like, it's like I wake up every day to a winning lottery ticket, right? Now this is, what I do is a lot more secure than, than the lottery, but every day I wake up knowing that I have a winning ticket because I know what to do.

It's, it's not a matter of how much money I'll make each day. It's a, it's a, I'm sorry, it's not a matter if I'll make money each day. It's a matter of how much money I'm going to make each day. And so it's really a, an awesome feeling and going back to what you were just talking about. If you know, if, if someone, if they, if they, if they, if they, if they, if they, if they, if they, if someone was to, to say, you know what, give me a hundred dollars and then this will turn into $400 or $500, you know, you, you would be, you'd be stupid, you know, no offense, but you'd be utterly stupid not to do that.

And that's essentially what marketing is. When you know what to do and you have a good business model that converts, it's a matter of putting money in and then you get more than that out of it. So, yeah, like, like they say, instead of going out and spending money on an Xbox, put that money back in because you know that it's going to yield good results. Yeah. in your business.

But yeah, for 2012, where do I see ourselves going? Well, I'm excited about what we've got going on here because I'm a big advocate of having a low-ticket front-end and then a high-ticket back-end to upsell. And so this whole time since I've had my success here in solely Empower Network, I've had a standalone back-end product that's completely separate from Empower Network. But what I'm so excited about now is Dave and Dave are putting together higher-ticket stuff to incorporate with Empower Network. You've got your blogging platform for $25.

You've got the inner circle for $100, which is phenomenal. You've got the $15K formula that is now a $1,000 price point, which is an absolute sweet spot. And then, Dave, I don't want to ruin your thunder, but I hear you guys are coming out with another higher-ticket, which I'm excited about. So as soon as that comes out, I'm going to completely do away with my other high-ticket, and I'm going to keep everything... All under one roof with Empower Network.

It'll be a lot more streamlined. I'll be able to focus solely 100% on what we've got here because we're going to have a great front-end model. We're going to have a great back-end upsell model to where you guys are going to be... And all of a sudden, when people are pulling in... You know what?

I kind of just ruined your thunder. I don't know if... Is it okay that I mention that? Yeah, yeah. No, it's fine.

I mean, it's good to mention the vision because I actually want to talk about this and talk about numbers breakdowns because you do a lot of marketing like this. But keep going. Keep going. Okay. Yeah.

So like I was saying, in the conversation I've had with Dave, he... A little burn on his shoulder told me that they're coming out with a higher price point, the $3,000 bracket. Getting four, five, six of those a week, that's a good start, but that's not life-changing, okay? And so that's what I'm really excited about here. And that's where I see with long-term, having a good solid front end, having a good solid back end, everybody's going to be able to keep everything under one roof.

You don't have to have... You don't need any other business. You don't need any other products or services. Everything is going to be all here under one roof. So that's what I'm excited about.

It's to really blow this thing up and be able to focus solely on how our network can be doing this for years to come. So for my 2012 vision, I'm excited about the other price points that are coming, the $1,000 price point with the 15K formula that just came out. And I foresee this being something that's going to last for years and years down the road. That's what I'm excited about. Well, you know, that's a good direction.

I want to talk a little bit about this because you know, for me, I'm going to tell you the emotional things that I went through because I got started, I was poor, right? And so when you're poor, you assume everybody else is poor. I mean, it's just an automatic, it's an automatic thing. If you get started, you're poor and you start to succeed, your brain just says, well, you know, everybody else is also struggling when they're getting in, right? And what happened was is as I kind of evolved in my business, I kind of saw what happened.

I realized that not everybody was in the same situation. Not everybody who joins is in the same situation that I was in, literally has no money and has to, you know, work from the ground up. There's a lot of people who want to buy. They don't want to buy the Mercedes, you know, they don't want to buy the Ford Escort, right? In marketing, so what I noticed, Chris, when I was marketing is I was selling things that were all low tier.

That was like my top of the line, right? And then, you know, my first experience with this, and I just like telling the story because it was a breakthrough for me, is I asked myself the question, I said, are there people out there that would get a tremendous amount of value if I taught them what I knew and I charged a little more? And I said, well, let's see. So I put together a little retreat. It was the Costa Rica, you know, mastermind retreat that I did out at my house in Costa Rica.

I charged, you know, I think it was like an even three. It was like $2,995, I think, for the attendees. And honestly, I could have charged five, now looking back. And, you know, and I put it up for like two days and it was like 10 or 15 people bought it. And I said, holy smokes.

I mean, I had no extra work. And then we've turned that into a $500 product. And then that $500 product has done about $2 million in sales, you know, since we've come out with that. So there's this massive market of baby boomers, people that have got money to spend who want to come in and they want the $1,000 product. They want $1,000 commissions.

They want to get the 25s and the 100s and the 500s as well, but they want to be able to come in right now today, not in five years or 10 years, and make a thousand bucks a day. And that's the value in having those high end. And we want to deliver that in the best quality for those price points of any marketing products that exist in the market. We're going to do a great job. So it's a good perspective that, you know, a lot of people, they say, well, nobody can afford that.

Well, no, you can't afford it. Exactly. Exactly. You can't afford it. And if you recruit 10, one wants it.

And so that's a great thing. So let's talk about numbers here because this is always fascinating to me because I am a little bit newer to the high ticket game to where I'm selling more expensive stuff. I've done it a little and I've always had great conversions on it. So Chris, if you sell, for example, if you have a group of customers, let's say you bring in, and I want to talk about upsell strategies just for a few minutes after we cover this, and then we'll be done with the call, be enough content for one audio. But if you bring in, say, 100 people to 25, how many people will buy a 500?

How many people will buy, or how many people will buy 100? How many people will buy 500? How many would buy 1,000? How many people do you think would buy a 3,500 through that process? Because I know you sell this stuff.

So what are your numbers? Yeah. Out of every $25 sale, we're seeing, I'd say our rough numbers are a little under 50%. Probably about 45% are purchasing the $100 price point that we have here with Empower, which is a really good conversion. And that's all with the upsells and everything that you guys have as far as the upsell process.

Now, if we were manually working on working on early, I'm sure we could get that up higher. But it's not necessary. I mean, that's a great conversion rate. And then as far as the higher price points, with the Costa Rica Intensive and what I believe K4 will do with the new price point, because I've sold $1,000 price points, and I've sold all the way up to $20,000 products. Even recently, I've done up to $20,000 products.

So I really have my bearings straight as far as what numbers are. What we're seeing is it just depends on the lead source. And of course, every campaign is going to vary because it's different leads coming in, and different leads are going to react differently. But we're seeing, I would say, it just, again, depending on the campaign, anywhere from 10% to almost 20% are going to be buying. And that's going to be purchasing a $500 price point or more.

And the neat thing is that while a lot of people listening to this may not have the money, like you were saying, Dave, to buy something at $500 or $1,000 or $3,000, a lot of people do it. So when you don't have something like that to offer, you're leaving a lot of money on the table. Because if 10%, if just 10% of the people who buy your $25 blogging platform, if just 10% buy something at $500 or $1,000 or more, that's going to be a lot of money. And that's going to be a lot of money. That means, on average, out of 10 sales, you're going to have one of those people sending you $500 or more.

And the neat thing that I've learned is someone who has $500 typically has $1,000 available, typically has the $3,000 or more available to put into their business. There's a threshold there where around the $100 or $200 price point. When you get over that, then those people typically, more often than not, are going to have access to that. Have access to that. Yeah.

Yeah, yeah. access to some larger funds to put into their business as far as buying products and buying marketing and advertising. We're seeing anywhere from 10% to 20% on a $500 or greater product, and a lot of those people are also buying multiple products at $1,000 or $3,000, $4,000, $5,000 as well. Without having those, you're leaving money on the table that would normally be there. That's a great, great perspective, man.

A lot of people, and the reason I wanted to cover that is because the way that I thought when I came in, this was harmful to me. I could have made 18 times the money that I did way faster, scaled my business 100 times faster if I would have gotten over it and realized that people do want these products. They do want to spend more, and if they don't spend more with you, they're going to spend more with somebody else, and it literally doubles your income overnight from the same group of people. They want it. They're going to spend it anyways.

If they don't spend it with you, they spend it somewhere else. If you miss it, let me remind you. If you repeat that again, you're missing half your income. No, it's valuable, man, and I'm looking forward to more insight. Let's talk last thing, and then we're going to let everybody go because this has just been value-packed, content-packed.

I can see why you won the contest. Let's talk about upsell strategies. Obviously, our funnel is converting a lot of the upsells for you guys, and obviously, I know that you guys are doing a lot as well. What are some strategies that you've used to take ... I imagine you have many upsells and you have the same philosophy as me, whereas I don't want to talk to leads.

I want to talk to customers, and a lot of people, they say, I want leads to call, and I'm like, no, you don't. You want to call somebody who buys something. It's way easier to upsell than it is to create that initial sale, and it's way easier to focus on leads and sell through email than it is to do it manually over the phone anyways. How do you take a customer? What are some strategies that you've used with maybe your team, maybe other products you've sold, maybe here at Empower Network, to have somebody who's spent $100 spend $1,000, or have somebody who's spent $500 spend $1,000?

What are some things you've done that have worked really well for that? Sure. Let me tie into this probably what I believe to be the most valuable information, and this piece of information is worth multiple thousands of loans. Dave, you're familiar with this, but are you ready for this? Yeah, I'm ready.

I'm ready. All right. The most valuable thing as far as anything goes is a term called outsourcing. The neat thing about that is ... The funny thing is I don't do a lot of my marketing anymore.

I don't do my sales anymore. I don't have to respond to a lot of my emails anymore, because I've hired someone who does a lot of my marketing. Now I'm still hands-on with much of it, but most of my marketing, most of the hands-on stuff I don't even do anymore. All of my sales I don't do anymore. My support I don't do anymore.

Think about it. When you look at a company like Walmart, do you think Sam Walton and the ... In the last of his years, he was responding to emails or taking care of payroll or that kind of stuff. Do you think Steve Jobs with Apple five years ago, do you think he was taking sales calls? Do you think he was doing support?

Do you think he was logging into the support at apple.com email and responding to those? Do you think Bill Gates is doing that kind of stuff? Absolutely not. Now the cool thing is, for me, when I first started, I was doing everything. I was a one-stop shop.

I was doing support. I was doing sales. I was learning how to build websites. I was doing everything myself because I had to. I didn't have the resources.

I didn't have the money to outsource it. They can have someone that is great on the phone, someone that's an absolute stud, a rock star on the phone, to do sales and to do cold calls and to call all your customers, welcome them aboard and say, hey, did you see that we have a few people that want to talk to you? Hey, did you see that we have a 15K for them? Hey, did you see that we have a $3,000 product, whatever that's going to be called? And they can do the upselling for you.

That's what I'm doing now as far as all of my sales go. I don't pick up the phone, and it's not that I'm lazy, but it's the fact that I believe in having financial freedom along with time freedom. Because if I was going to be a slave to this, I love Empower Network, Dave, but man, if I was going to be doing this for 20 hours a day, I wouldn't be on this call right now. I'd be out there busting my butt. I'm trying to make more money, but the cool thing is, while I'm here on this call with you, I've got an executive assistant that's answering all my support emails, that's taking incoming sales calls, that's making outbound sales calls.

I've got a guy who's marketing for me right now while I'm talking to you. It's really cool when you get to that level, because then you can scale as big as you want. That's why I think Empower Network is going to be an absolute monster in this industry. They already are, but look at when they're two, three years old, Dave, you guys are going to be an absolute monster here, because you guys believe in the terminology of outsourcing as well. Let's backtrack just a little bit and get back to the earlier stage in upselling and how can people do it on their own and on their own time, so that way they don't have to take money out of their pocket.

Actually, you know what, I'm going to eat my words on that and say, you know what, if you guys can find someone that's good at sales and pay them on a percentage, on a commission basis, then it's nothing out of your pocket. That's probably one of the best things. One of the best things that someone can do as far as an upsell process goes is have someone learn your business, learn your products, have them sign up as a member and learn everything and tell them, hey, you'll pay them 10%, 20%, whatever you want, and have them do the selling for you. You can go to places like odesk.com. You can go to freelancer.com.

You can find people here who excel in web design if you ever want to build a website. You can find people who will advertise for you on Craigslist. They'll build out campaigns for you, people who do this stuff every day and do it very, very well. You'll also be able to find people who are good on the phone, have great speaking voices, are very persuasive and can do all the selling and telling. I know some people are saying, well, Chris, you said the website does all the selling and telling for you.

You know what? It does, but some people are going to stop at that $25 point. Some of those people are going to stop at the $100 point, and at that point, you're leaving money on the table. What if you could take that upsell into the $1,000 product, what if you could take it from 10%? You're converting it 20%.

Is it worth having somebody make those calls if you don't want to do it? Is it worth having somebody do those calls and paying them a small percentage to double your income? Absolutely, it is. If you're someone who likes the phone and you aren't afraid of the phone, then pick up that darn phone and call them and introduce them to the other products and just be real with them. Talk to them.

Don't be a pushy salesman. Do you like the sweaty guy who comes around trying to sell you a vacuum, or do you like the cute little kid that comes around trying to sell you a car? If he comes around trying to sell you a candy bar, so that way they can win a trip to Florida, of course you're going to buy that candy bar. You're probably not going to buy that vacuum. Just be real.

Be a cute little kid who is appealing to everybody. Just talk to people and be real with them. That's the best way you can sell people. Sell yourself. Get people to like you.

Don't push a product or don't try to necessarily sell a product, because if they like you, they're going to want to look at your products and your services, and when they realize that, hey. This guy has great products. They have great services. They have a great team. They have unity.

They have a great, phenomenal affiliate program, 100%. Who else out there is paying 100% when Dave and Dave are doing all the work for you guys? They're few and far between. Again, if you like the phone, great. Do it.

Pick it up. Call them. Upsell them by getting them to like you. If you don't like the phone, then go out there and find somebody who does like the phone, because having somebody to do sales for you is definitely going to be one of the biggest assets for you. The best decision that I ever made in my business was hiring a gal named Karen, who is my executive assistant.

She does the work of 20 people for me, and is an absolute workhorse, and has saved my butt so many times, answers emails. She works 10, 12 hours a day for me. She's been with me for five years and is extremely loyal, and I trust her with my son. I trust her with my life. When you have somebody that works for you, she's great at sales, too.

She's been in the industry for a while. There are hundreds of people out there. There are hundreds of people out there that may not have the money to put in marketing because the economy got them or whatever it may be, but you know what? They have the experience. They have the knowledge.

They have the tenacity and the drive. They just need to work for somebody. So if you can put them to work calling some of your leads, upselling them, and pay them a percentage, say, look, here's the big picture. I might be able to eventually get you on a salary, but we have the best thing out there, and I'll give you 10%, 20% upfront of every dollar you make for me. They're going to work their tail off for you.

And then you can gain that loyalty by getting them on a salary and paying up commission. So I guess as far as an upsell process goes, that's kind of thorough, but hopefully that's what you were looking for, Dave. This is way more value than most people are even going to need listening to this at this stage. But for the higher level people that really can take things to a new level, that's pure gold. The biggest value that you can get, there's two types of people that are going to be listening to this interview.

Category number one, they're going to say, God, I don't have money to get an assistant, and I can't place ads, and I can't scale a business like this, and I can't have an army of people in the Philippines. What do I do? It's like, well, you're not there yet. Start with what you're at, but place your first solo ad. Focus on leads.

Right? Right? And that's who that message was meant for. And if you're listening to this audio, and that's you, you'll be smart. I mean, you can take 20% of your income, and you say, that's a lot of income to take.

Well, that 20% will double the rest of your income. And so that's exactly what Dave and I did, just as an example. We were doing all this stuff, and so we just hired an operations person to coordinate all this stuff. So our event is finally going to happen. Because we got an event that's going to be huge.

Right? It's going to be happening in June. And then we're going to be doing a higher ticket event that we're going to turn into this product that we were talking about a little bit earlier, just as a heads up. But doing that, hiring the right people, surrounding yourself with talent when you have money is the only way to get to a new level. And one of the fascinating things is, I think, Chris, is that everyone who makes a lot of money, the big bucks, they all do this, and they never talk about it.

And I think the beauty of Empower Network is here we talk about it from the front, and we say, hey, just take. Don't. It's a business. Just treat it like a business. Take your money, put it back in for the first year, and be willing to run really hard and put your money back in, and you can create an empire like you and your partner have created there.

So I appreciate you guys. I just want to let you know. I think that you guys might be the first ones to hit a quarter of a million a month here at Empower, other than Dave and I. And so I just say, let's run to a quarter of a million a month, see how fast we can get you there. I mean, that's just getting started.

I think you'll get to a half million a month by the end of the year. But I'm looking forward to working with you. Thanks, Chris. I'm looking forward to working with you guys. Looking forward to helping you out in any way that I can.

So if you ever see anything I could do for you or something you're curious about, you're like, hey, Dave, how are you doing this? Just hit me up, and I'll give you my resources as well. So last question I've got for you. Could we get you to do, maybe you and the other Chris, in some kind of a bonus training on something unique in the 15K formula? You guys do a lot of unique marketing strategies.

I know we went over a little bit of direct mail. I'm interested in that, and it's something that we don't have an incredible amount of detail in that product yet. Would you be willing to come up with something? Would you be willing to come in and do that here sometime in the next couple weeks? Absolutely.

I would be elated to do that for you. Not a problem. Okay, cool, cool, man. Well, there's this bug flying around my house. You wouldn't even believe how huge these things are.

They're ridiculous. These huge bugs running around the fan. He's flying into the fan, and it's like a bat, this thing, so gigantic. But anyways, I'll let you go. Thanks for popping on the interview.

Great to have you, and looking forward to doing that high-ticket product with you here over the summertime. So it's going to be a lot of fun, and we're going to be able to... change a lot of lives, and also looking forward to having you speak at that first event. We're really going to take this to a new game. I want everybody here, last focus I want everybody here to have, place your first ad.

You say, Dave, I don't have much money. Well, then take $30 and place an ad. You go to the Warrior Forum and place a solo ad on somebody else's list for $20 or $30, sometimes $40, one of the cheapest things ever. Just go place an ad. Experiment.

Go through that product. Go through the 15K formula. Place one ad today, all right, and just start, and that's the best place to be is somebody who's just starting and just about to create your story. Build as fast as you can. Plan on being at the event with us here coming up in June.

We're going to take this to a new game. I want everybody here to think about this because a lot of people, when they saw Empower Network, they thought we were just this little affiliate thing. You know, they're like, oh, yeah, it's a little affiliate thing. Here today, gone tomorrow. And we had problems, and we were still around.

We had banking issues. We were still around. We had server issues. Here we are. And now we're back, and we're actually growing faster than we've ever grown, doing more sales than we've ever done.

And coming out with product innovations, coming out with system innovations, and in June, we're going to take things to a whole new level. It's a horrible month to do events, but, you know, we're still going to have a massive show up, and if you're serious, you'll be there. So when we release those details, plan on being there. Plan on being in Atlanta. So we're going to announce some cool stuff there and take the game to a new level.

So, Chris, again, appreciate you. Tell your partner I appreciate him, too. I don't talk to him nearly as much. And anything that we can do for you guys, let us know. We'll do our best to get any ideas you guys got implemented into ourselves.

Cool? Awesome, Dave. I appreciate it. Thanks so much. I appreciate it.
