Tired of Weak Commissions? Why Momentum Beats Effort Alone

David Wood opens this video standing outside his home in the mountains of Costa Rica with a specific number he wants people to hear: eighteen people on his team made over ten thousand dollars in a single month last month, and this month, halfway through, they are on track for thirty. Nine people are on track to clear thirty thousand dollars in the month of June alone. That is the case he is making, not an abstract pitch about opportunity, but a claim about speed.
The numbers he says prove momentum
David lays out the math directly. Empower Network launched in November of the previous year. Eighteen people crossed ten thousand dollars a month last month, which he says is “more than I’ve ever seen anybody do in six months.” This month, he says, they’re on track for thirty people at that level, and nine people on track to make over thirty thousand dollars in June. He calls this “momentum, it’s doubling, huge numbers,” and argues flatly that no affiliate company and no niche company on the internet is helping this many people make this much money.
He points to a recent live event, called Don’t Be A Wussy 2012, held in Atlanta, Georgia, with over 1200 people in the room. He says every top leader he knows showed up, including people from outside Empower Network who just wanted to be there, and that they told him it was the best event with the best energy and the most people making money they’d ever seen in one room. He adds a comparison from his own history: he’s been in rooms with 15,000 people and never seen that many people in the room actually making money.
He also runs through the company’s early scale: 10,000 people in the first 30 days, crossing 30,000 customers within six months, presence in 170 countries, and 1200 people in a room chanting about hundred percent commissions. He says he didn’t expect any of it. “I didn’t think that we’d be on track, our sixth month, to have nine people make over $30,000. I didn’t think that that would happen. I just thought we’d get slightly better results.”
Why he built the company on “weenie ass” commissions
David explains the original motivation behind Empower Network. Before launching it, he says, “everybody in the niche” was selling products that were not actually helping people make money. He pushes back on the idea that this was a case of a few weak performers: “people were not making money with this bullshit.” So he built a company on the principles he’d used for years, but structured around commissions he describes as the opposite of “weenie ass,” meaning people could actually earn.
This is the frame he keeps returning to through the video: the call to action is aimed at anyone “sick and tired of the wainy commissions,” sick of not getting results, and sick of not being able to help other people get results either.
His prediction for what happens after September
David frames the next few months as a specific forecast rather than a general promise. He says the company will hit hyper growth after September, tied to another live event planned in San Diego, California. His claim to viewers is that the window closing around that period is unrepeatable: “you are never gonna have the opportunity again in your life to be a part of the momentum, to be part of the growth, and be part of the synergy that’s gonna happen after that time.”
He directs this at three groups explicitly: people already following his blog who haven’t joined, people already in Empower Network but sitting on the sidelines, and people just discovering him through the video. To the second group specifically he says it’s time to “stand up, to rise up, and to run with us in this next year.”
He is careful, in the middle of this, to note the limits of what he can promise. “We can’t guarantee incomes to anybody,” he says, pointing to the income disclosure posted on the company’s website, and adds that his goal is singular: “to help you to get the results that you want.”
The call he actually makes
David closes by asking viewers to commit to a defined stretch of time, ninety days, running through to the San Diego event, and to treat it as a decision rather than a feeling. He describes Empower Network not as a company alone but, in his words, “a movement of the hearts and the minds of the coolest, most badass people I’ve ever met in my entire life.” His closing instruction is simple: if you want to break through, take action, and if you’re already in, take more action. “Everything in life starts with a decision,” he says, “it starts with your decision to break through.”

Anyways guys, blog readers, those of you who, you know, read the work with davidwood.com blog, I want to make a video for you guys because I'm just super excited about what's happening in my life. I'm super excited what's happening in my business. I've never been making so much money as I've been making recently. But the important thing is I've been helping more people make money than I've ever seen anybody help. I mean, I've never seen this many six-figure earners, this many people who are on track to hit seven figures this next year, literally in anything. And it just so happens this, in my team, we've had, just last month, you know, you guys know we launched the Empower Network back in November of last year. Last month we had 18 people make over ten thousand dollars this, this month. I want you to check this, one month. Okay, we are 18 last month. This month we're on track, I'm not saying we're gonna hit it, we're on track to have 30. Okay, so last month it was 18 people make it over 10,000 a month, which by the way is more than I've ever seen anybody do in six months. Next month, or this month, excuse me, in June when I'm making this video, we're on track now, right now, to have 30 people make over ten thousand dollars in a month, right? We're on track to have nine this month now, I'm not saying we will, it's halfway through the month, we'll see, we're on track to have nine people, nine, make over thirty thousand dollars this month in June, right? Folks, that's what you call, no, momentum, it's doubling, huge numbers. There isn't any company on the internet, there's no affiliate company on the internet, there's no niche company on the internet that's helping this many people make this much money as we are here at Empower Network.
Why am I making this video? I'm making this video because I'm gonna give you guys a call to action. Look, some of you guys, you're in with us. Some of you guys, you know, you're not. Some of you guys are like, what the heck's the Empower Network, you know, I was with you before, you're doing all this stuff, you haven't been reading your emails, what's going on? Some of you guys you just found my blog, you know, on this video. I don't care how you found this, okay?

They're like, well, the dumb guy over here, he makes five thousand dollars a month. Look guys, people were not making money with this bullshit.
So I decided to start a company that was based on the principles of what I've been doing for years. But instead of this weenie ass horse shit, people, excuse me, the language is just true, people could actually make money. Now, I didn't think that they'd make as much money as they are. I didn't think that we'd put in 10,000 people in our first 30 days. I don't think we'd cross the 30,000 customer threshold in six months. I didn't think that we'd be in 170 countries. I didn't think we'd have 1200 people in a room in six months chanting a hundred percent commissions. I did not think, guys, that we'd be on track, our sixth month, to have nine people make over $30,000. I didn't think that that would happen. I just thought we'd get slightly better results.
But we've changed the game, and what we're doing over the next few months is gonna change it more, and I'm just telling you, folks, that I'm pumped up because I've got a vision.
