Inside a Network Marketing Launch Week Update and Team Results

In his first week after launching Empower Network, David Wood says the company signed up 3,353 paid members on the $25-a-month basic membership and paid out $484,499.20 in 100% commissions, a number he calls unbelievable given that Amway, by comparison, did about half a million dollars in sales in its entire first year.
Recording from a Costa Rica hotel room, on the third try
Wood opens the video by explaining he is recording from a hotel in Costa Rica and that this is his third attempt at getting the update out. The camera ran out of batteries during the last try, after he says he talked for ten minutes without realizing the microphone was off. Once he gets the equipment working, he says the point of the video is to give a launch report, hand out some numbers, and thank the people who have had success, though he admits he does not have a full list of names because an income report has not been generated yet. He says that will come out the following week.
The first seven days of numbers
Wood lays out the results from what he calls the company’s eighth day of existence. Alongside the 3,353 basic members and the $484,499.20 paid in commissions, he reports 1,552 Inner Circle members paying $100 a month, which he calculates works out to $155,000 a month in residual income being paid out to members. He also gives the number for the $500 Costa Rica Retreat upsell: 491 people have paid for it so far, a figure he calls low compared to the others, attributing it to what he describes as “a little bit of a upsell process issue” that the team is working to fix over the following week.
He reacts to the overall numbers with visible excitement, saying at one point, “I’m having an orgasm looking at that, I’ll tell you something, that’s exciting.” He repeats the comparison to established network marketing companies, noting that some well-known companies did not pay out that much in commissions in their first year, let alone their first week.
Individual earners and who is leading the pack
Wood says the company has at least seven, possibly eight, people who made more than $10,000 in the week, two people who made more than $20,000, and one person who made more than $30,000, a figure higher than his own earnings for the week. He identifies that top earner as Lawrence Tam, describing him as part-time and currently the number one rep in Empower Network. Wood recounts getting an email from Tam saying he was considering taking three months off work to relax around the birth of his next child, since he had just made three times his usual monthly income in a single week. Wood says his response was simply to encourage him to do what he wants to do.
He also names several other people he says are performing well, including Tracy Walker, Nick Bramble, Chris Dardy, Toby and Layla, Aaron Rashkin, and Rob Four, though he says he cannot list everyone. He mentions that Inner Circle interviews with some of these top performers are coming out in the next couple of days, intended to show other members how the results are being achieved, and notes these are available to those who upgrade to Inner Circle.
What comes next: automation and a 10,000-member target
Looking ahead, Wood says he believes the company will reach 10,000 active, paid members within 30 days of launch. He also mentions that an automated webinar system is close to being installed, something he expected to have running by that night or the next day, and describes it as the highest-selling webinar the company has run so far. He says he watched commissions come in live during that webinar, refreshing the screen and seeing the total rise by about $5,000 over its course, which the company showed to viewers as it happened.
Wood closes by framing the results as the product of a group effort rather than any one person’s work, saying:
“We’re better together than we all alone. So let’s just… all get 100% commission. This is just most unbelievable thing ever. So it’s really a unified group of people. And I’m just proud of all of you.”

Hey guys, this is Dave Wood here talking to you actually from the city in Costa Rica. I've actually been staying in a hotel now. This is my third attempt at making this video. I actually had this thing run out of batteries last time. I talked for like 10 whole minutes if you believe it or not where I didn't even have the microphone on. In any case, this thing is not lined up properly.
Hold on just one second because I just had to turn it back on. I wanted to give you guys a launch report and just tell you how we're doing and give you guys some numbers to work with and also just congratulate a lot of you for the success that you've had. I'm going to leave a tremendous amount of names out of that. I don't actually even have a list of names because we don't have an income report where I can really congratulate all of you guys who are making money. We're getting that generated here next week. What I wanted to do was give an update, give you guys some ideas, some thoughts, some inspiration, some empowerment.
I also need to do a little house cleaning here and a couple of issues that we've been having as a culture that we can correct really quick and just talk a little bit about a vision for the future. First of all, let's get into the congratulations on how we've done in the last seven days, folks. This is now our eighth day. Here's what we've done. 3,353 total paid members on the basic membership, which is $25 a month level with the Empower Network, 3,353. Folks that is incredible.
Give yourselves a hand. We have had 3,353 people who have paid $25 a month and are given that 100% commission to somebody in the Empower Network to get an Empower Network blog, folks. We got over 3,300 blogs generated in a week, unbelievable. $484,499.20 paid out in 100% commission. This is total between everybody, right? $484,499.20 in a week.
First week, how can we do this next week? I'm having an orgasm looking at that, I'll tell you something, that's exciting. I know, guys, there have been network marketing companies that are huge companies that didn't do this much their first year, let alone pay out that much commissions in a year. Amway actually did about a half million dollars in sales their first year. Inner Circle members, check this out, 1,552 Inner Circle members paying $100 a month. That's $150,000 a month, I think, yeah, $155,000 a month in residual income.
Paying out to you guys, right, isn't that powerful? Costa Rica Retreat, 491 people have paid for the $500 Costa Rica Retreat. That one's numbers are a little bit low. We're doing some things to increase that again. We have a little bit of a upsell process issue and you guys will see those numbers increase over the course of the next seven days. But I just wanted to say this is incredible.
I know it's on a little scratch pad, I haven't shaved in a week because I've been helping you guys all make money. Folks, we've got, I believe, we might be up to eight now, but I think we're at least at seven people that have made more than $10,000 in a week. We got two people that have made more than $20,000. One guy has made more than $30,000 and it ain't me, all right? And he's part-time. In fact, I just got an email from him and he said, you know, Dave, I'm thinking about taking three months off work and just having my next kid just relaxed.
Why kill myself? And I was like, dude, you just made three times as much as you usually make in a month and a week, you know, why not? Do what you want to do. It's Laurence Tam, people. Congratulations, buddy. Number one rep right now in the Empower Network.
We got a lot of other people having success, you know. I can't even list them all. You know, we've got Inner Circle interviews coming out in the next couple of days for Inner Circle members that are going to blow you guys' minds. We're going to teach you guys how everybody in the community is having these kind of results. It really has been unbelievable, all right?
