The New Member Welcome Call: Why New Team Members Go Quiet (And the 5-Step Call That Fixes It)
You finally get a new team member. They’re excited, they say all the right things on the sign-up call, and then you never hear from them again. No login, no first sale, no reply to your follow-up. Three weeks later you check the back office and they’re just gone, another name in a list of people who “joined” but never actually started.
Most people in this industry blame the person. Wrong mindset, wasn’t serious, wasn’t cut out for it. Dave Wood’s answer is different, and it’s a lot less comfortable to hear: if your new members go quiet, it’s usually because nobody gave them a reason to take you seriously in the first thirty minutes they were on your team.
As someone who has brought people into a downline before, you already know the sinking feeling of watching a promising new member evaporate. In this bonus training, recorded live on a webcast where Dave walks brand-new members through the process one at a time in front of an audience, he lays out exactly what has to happen on that first call, and why skipping any piece of it quietly wrecks your retention.
Why does a warm, friendly welcome call still leave new members drifting?
Here’s the trap. A lot of sponsors do make that first call, and it goes fine. Friendly, encouraging, “so glad to have you,” maybe a little small talk. Then the new member hangs up just as unclear about what to actually do as they were before the call, and within a few days they’re aimless, clicking around a back office with no direction, and quietly losing interest.
Dave’s diagnosis is blunt about what happens without a structured process:
If you don’t give them a little bit of direction, they’re going to be a little aimless.
A friendly call is not a directive call. The new member needs to leave that first conversation with a specific next action, a specific deadline, and a specific reason to actually do it, none of which happens by accident just because you were nice to them.
What actually needs to happen on a new member’s first call?
Watching Dave run this same call with several different brand-new members back to back, live, the sequence never changes. It’s the same five moves every time, regardless of who’s on the other end of the line:
- Build real rapport first. Where they’re from, what they do, why they’re here. Not filler, actual listening, because the specifics they give you here become the material you use for everything else.
- Find out what they actually want. Not a guess on your part, their own number and their own reason. What income would make this worth their time, and what’s underneath that number.
- Get specific on time and money. How many hours a week, realistically, not aspirationally. What budget, right now and monthly. Vague answers here produce vague effort later.
- Test their follow-through before you invest more time. Ask directly whether they’re the kind of person who does what they say, and let them answer out loud.
- Hand them a short list of assignments with a hard deadline, and a specific consequence for skipping them.
None of this is a script you read at someone. It’s a sequence of questions, in order, and the order matters because each answer feeds the next question.
Why does asking about money and hours actually matter?
It’s tempting to skip straight to “here’s what to do” and save everyone the conversation. Dave doesn’t, and the reason is specificity. In the calls, he doesn’t accept a vague answer like “I’ll work whenever I can.” He asks for an actual number of hours, then repeats it back. He asks for an actual dollar figure for their monthly budget, then repeats that back too, because he’s not just collecting information, he’s showing them he heard it and he’s about to hold them to it.
He’s also visibly taking notes the whole time, and he stops mid-call to explain why. As Dave Wood puts it in the Top Producer Formula, “if you take notes when people are talking, you’ll pay attention to what they say. And most of the time, the biggest problem reps have when they’re talking to people is they don’t pay attention to what they say, right?” The notes aren’t for a file somewhere. They’re so he can repeat a person’s own words back to them, in their language, when it’s time to connect the assignments to what they said they wanted.
He does the same thing with their reason for joining. One new member on the call mentions her daughter graduating and realizing she’d missed most of a decade of it on the road for work. Dave doesn’t let that pass as small talk, he comes back to it directly and asks if that’s actually her core motivation. Then he pauses the interview to point out the mechanic to everyone watching: “you notice how her connection to me just changed when we started talking about the kids? Right? Everybody notice that? Right? That’s what you’re looking for when you’re talking to your members, is you’re looking for something that connects you.” That single move is what turns a generic “make more money” goal into something with an emotional floor under it, something that will still matter on the week nothing’s working.
The focus question matters too, and it’s the single biggest failure point Dave calls out:
the biggest problem on the internet is focus
A new member spreading their attention and their limited budget across five different trainings and three different opportunities isn’t building momentum anywhere. Part of this call’s job is getting them to commit their time and money to one direction before they’ve had the chance to scatter it.
What’s the actual trade you’re making when you set the accountability piece?
The most uncomfortable part of the process for most sponsors is the direct question Dave asks every single new member before handing over assignments: if you agree to do something, will you actually do it, or are you the kind of person who says yes and doesn’t follow through? He asks it plainly, waits for a real answer, and doesn’t let it slide by as a rhetorical question. The reasoning behind it, in his words: “If you want people to do the assignments that you’re going to give them, right, you’ve got to create a boundary where if they don’t follow those assignments, there’s something they lose.” No boundary, no follow-through. It’s that mechanical.
What makes this work instead of feeling like a threat is that it runs both directions. Dave isn’t demanding compliance for nothing in return, he’s proposing a trade, and he says so out loud:
I don’t have a responsibility to follow commitments to people who don’t want to make them.
Translation: he’ll show up, coach, and follow through, but only for people who’ve already shown, in that first call, that they follow through themselves. That’s not a punishment. It’s a filter, and it’s the reason the assignments carry weight instead of getting quietly ignored like every other piece of homework a new member has ever been handed.
The assignments themselves are short and specific: watch a defined set of training videos in full, complete two worksheets, and get them back by a hard deadline, tied to a real consequence, namely that skipping them means they don’t get invited to the next coaching session. That’s the whole mechanism. No vague “check out the back office when you get a chance.” A deadline, a consequence, and a reason that’s already been agreed to out loud.
What changes in your business once you actually run this call?
Run this same five-step sequence with every new person who joins your team and a few things shift immediately. New members stop wandering the back office wondering what to click. They’ve got an assignment, a deadline, and a reason they personally stated for wanting to be there. You’ve also already found out, in the very first conversation, who’s actually going to put in effort and who’s already telling you they won’t.
That second part matters more than it sounds. A short, structured call up front means you stop guessing later about who to spend your time on, and you stop being surprised when someone who never really committed disappears in month one. Dave frames the stakes bluntly: “If you don’t build any kind of connection with your team, you’re going to be fighting an attrition battle real fast.” And the cost of losing that battle compounds, because as he adds, “it’s much easier to keep them than it is to forever continuing to get to replace them and replace them and replace them.” That’s the difference between a business you’re constantly restocking with new recruits because the old ones keep leaking out the back, and one where the people who stay actually free up your time instead of consuming all of it.
What’s above is the framework. The full recording shows Dave running this exact process, live and unscripted, with an entire sequence of brand-new team members back to back, adjusting the questions in real time to who’s actually on the call. Watching that repetition is what makes the sequence stick, because you see it work the same way on a retired saleswoman, a traveling consultant, and a veteran who just got back from deployment. That complete session, video and full transcript, is part of the Top Producer Formula course. If you’re new to it, the entire course is available for $99 at the Top Producer Formula course.
Claim the full session, write out your own five-question welcome call before your next new member joins, and use it on the very next call you make.

So, you know, so I'm 13, and I'm failing every class in school, and 8 out of 8. I mean, we're talking, like, you know, smart kid, you know what I'm saying? I'm focused. And I think it was mostly because I was skipping school, but it may also have been the pot. But, you know, so I'm getting 8 out of 8 classes.
I mean, we're talking science, history, math, gym, Fs. Like, how do you fail at gym? You skip every day, right? So I'm driving with my dad in the car, and I've got a beanie hat on, and it's Alaska. It's freezing, right?
So I need a hat, and I'm, like, dressed up with everything, you know, and I've got snow boots on and everything, and I'm folding my arms, and he's driving me to karate. And my dad looks like he's getting progressively more and more irritated for a couple of minutes, right? And I don't, you know, know why he's irritated. He's like a wood guy, which means you have a short temper and blow up at everything, right? So.
Not really. I think everything's hilarious. But, you know, he'd get frustrated. So in any case, he finally just kind of explodes, and then he goes, you've got to be the dumbest kid in the family. And I said, what are you talking about?
And he said, you're failing 8 out of 8 classes. I mean, you're, at least you got 100% in something, you know. I was like, how do you fail 8th grade history? This is, like. The, you know, the United States is a couple hundred years old, but we're not going to be specific because you're only in 8th grade.
And I was laughing. I said, what does this have to do with anything? And he says, look, you might think maybe you're a 13-year-old now, but eventually you're going to have a family and kids and a wife. I hope, I hope someone will love you because it's hard. And he says, you know, how are you going to support your family if you don't go to school, get a job, get a profession, what are you going to do?
And I said, you're telling me those dumb, boring history classes and that math class has something to do with making money because I can't figure it out. So if I have to go to do this to do what you do for a living, I'll be poor. Thank you very much. So why don't you tell me something I can do for a living without going to school? Now, I was expecting to be left alone at that point, which is really why I said it, right?
I was just like, I'll just tell them I'll be a failure and get it over with, and that's what I'm looking for. Leave me alone. So next Thursday, my dad comes in my room, throws a suit at me and says, put that on. We're going to a meeting. And, you know, I think I was playing like a video game or, you know, reading some weird book.
I was reading weird personal development books even when I was failing all my classes. It was funny. I'd skip school and, like, go read Carlos Castro. And they'd are like, you know, Astral Projection for Beginners or some weird thing like that. How to teleport, you know.
I got my first Tony Robbins course when I was 12, you know. I actually stole it, funny enough, when I was 12 from Walden Books. Right. Hello, everybody, and welcome to tonight's Tactical Tuesday webcast. I'm Trav, product director for Empower, and I want to say super excited to have you here.
Tonight, we... First off, if any of you guys know me, we do things a little bit differently. And when somebody gives me the reins for a webcast, I'm like, how can I do this in a different way? Right now, I want everybody to let us know you're here in the chat. At Empower, we do webcasts in a little bit of a different way.
We love engagement. We love community. And you're going to hear from somebody tonight who has literally revolutionized the word culture in this industry. And you might know who I'm talking about. So let us know if you're here in the chat.
I'm actually going to type to everybody in the chat right now. Hello, everyone. And excuse my grammatical errors. It's hard to do this. You know, multitasking is not as easy as everybody makes it out.
Look at... Oh, my gosh. Larry, Paul, Patrick, Marcus. Guys, we are super excited to have you here with us tonight. For those of you who are existing members, welcome back to these amazing webcasts.
And if you are new members, you are literally... You couldn't have joined a better webcast for tonight. If you know anything about Tactical Tuesdays, Tactical Tuesdays is something that Empower created to literally put the latest and greatest strategy. In front of you to give you tactical, digestible, and consumable information that you can take action on right away. Amanda, Xavier, you guys rock.
Thank you for being here. So the point of this webcast is to give you information that you can take action on right away and actually create results and create financial results in your business. Those of you guys who know, we have some amazing financial results and income results in Empower. Now, we can't guarantee those because they're not typical, but we know that you're not typical. So always check out our income disclosure over at www.empowernetwork.com forward slash income.
Now, I will tell you that tonight we are taking it a step further. And I am honored to be opening this webcast because you're going to hear from the man, the myth, the legend himself, who has literally done something different with everything that he touches. You guys know the just crazy amount of mind power and the way that he creates amazing results, whether it be the products or the culture, the community. If you've been to one of our events, you know that there's just a magic when you get in front of this guy.
And there's a magic when he works with you, whether you're a new member or you've already just connected with him. And he takes new members through a process that is just otherworldly. And I say otherworldly, fully meaning that because he connects with people in a different kind of way. His mind works in a different kind of way that makes somebody feel welcome but want to take action because he's somebody that believes in results, right? He's not just out to make tons of money and create some crazy business that does tons of money and it's like turn and burn and it's over.
If you know anything about Empower, it's about longevity. And it's about a culture and a community and that's exactly what David Wood creates. So without further ado, he's taking it a step further. Make sure you click the link on that side of the page because there's a downloadable PDF for you that is full of new member orientation information that he created and it is jam-packed full of a step-by-step that you'll definitely want to follow. So without further ado, throw in the content right in your face because it's going to be amazing.
Stand by. David Wood, are you here? Yeah, I'm here, Trav. Can you hear me okay? I am here, man.
Glad to be here with you. Hey, it's glad to be here with you too, you know. And this is going to be fun tonight and the reason is because tonight's training is going to be really different than some – actually, I've never done something like this live in front of like a huge amount of people. I used to do this back in 2009 and 2010 where I'd get new members started and then right afterward I would like – I would do three-way calls like I'd get one new member on the phone with another new member. And then the first new member would listen to the second one get started and then they would all listen to the third one get started like that.
But what I wanted to do was I wanted to show you guys how to get your new members started right. And this is the process that I'm personally following and also what I'm going to recommend that you guys do. And if you do it, here's the promise, is that I'm going to show you guys really, really how to make a lot of money in your business, all right? Now those of you who aren't in Empower Network, the reason why I'm doing this training for everyone is for a variety of reasons. No matter what business you're in, you need to learn how to get people started right.
You need to learn how to build rapport with people. Especially if you're building a business online, there's a big disconnect between marketing and network marketing where a lot of people get online and they just throw people in their business and they expect them to get results. And the reality is that if you're in something that has an organization with good duplication and it kind of works on its own, that might work. But it's not going to have any kind of longevity. And you're going to be frustrated and have more attrition.
You're going to have less duplication than you'd like. And you're really not going to get the results that you want in your business, all right? So this is going to actually be broken into two parts, all right? And what I'm going to teach you today is what I call, personally, and compliance is going to kill me for this, but you can see our income disclosure for anything that I'll say all through the night. That's how confident I am in this, actually.
This works so well that if you do it and don't get the results that I just said, I'll just call you and we'll fix it. Now, the reason I'm promising that is because I know how well this works. And I know that I'm not going to make any phone calls, all right? So on the page, you have a PDF that I'm actually going to be walking my new members through. This is for people that have joined in Empower Network, right?
You know, they're affiliates, and so they're in the affiliate. They've got one of our products. And I want you guys to download that because it's only going to be there for about 30 minutes, and after that, it'll be taken off the page, all right? Also, I want you guys to pay attention and take notes who are already in Empower Network because I want you to walk through and complete the assignments I'm going to give these guys that you can complete. There's going to be one you're not going to be able to complete yet because it's involving something that's not going to be live for everybody, for people.
It's probably about a month. So complete the assignments you can and come back with those assignments completed to Thursday's session, which is going to be part two of this formula, all right? So here's what I'm actually going to do. Number one, I'm going to kind of break this process down for you in a way that makes sense, all right? And if you're looking at Empower, if you've seen maybe a sales video, maybe you've talked to one of our reps, maybe you've looked at some materials, and you're wondering, you know, is this right for me, all right?
Should I join this? Should I decide to get started? Should I click the button and pull out my credit card? This is actually going to paint out the process and make it believable for you, okay? It's going to paint out a process that you can do, okay?
So number one, I'm going to actually walk you through the process and explain it first. That's what I'm going to do first, right? Number two thing I'm going to do is I'm actually going to take the people who we have as guests on this Hangout tonight who are actually new members of mine, right, who I've just sponsored in the last week or two, who have volunteered to come out here and go through this process with me live in front of you. So these aren't new. These aren't like actors.
They're not people that have been in Empower for six months. It's not role playing. These are actually real people who have just joined. In fact, we have a couple people on tonight that just joined earlier today, and I honestly don't even know who any of them are except for one, Michael Erdman, and I know him because I did a meeting for him over in Seattle like, you know, three or four years ago, okay? So I'm actually going to walk my personal new members through this process using the formula that I'm going to teach you, and they're real people.
They've got real professions. Most of them are not professional network marketers. In fact, maybe none of them are. I actually don't know anything about them at all, all right? And then afterwards, we're going to wrap up.
I'm going to go over what we've learned, and I'm going to tell you all what you need to do next, okay? Now, the first thing that you need to do next is this. If you're not in Empower Network, you just need to get over the ego, pull out your credit card, and join. There's a buy button on the page in addition to the bonuses, and you just need to get in because the thing is, and this is just I'm going to pre-frame this. Look, it's not like we're asking you to spend tons of money.
If you get in and you don't like it, get a refund. But the reality is that this is part one of a two-part formula. The second part is only going to be available to members on Thursday night, and you're going to be missing out on half of it if you're not in because you're not going to be able to attend. So there's a button over there where you can actually just click it, just pull out your credit card, get over the ego, and just do it. And you know what?
If you don't like it, here's what you do. Just send an email to customer support and say, you know, I want my money back. I don't like that Dave Wood guy, all right? So real quick before we get started, I want to talk a little bit about my story and a little bit about how this, you know, training tonight came to be. Those of you who don't know me, which a lot of you might know me, a lot of you might not.
I have no clue who I'm talking to. I've been in the home business industry since I've been 21 years old, right, where I've actually been trying to build a business. I've been around a lot longer than that, basically my whole life. I kind of look scrawny, and I kind of look weird, but I'm going to show you something here. This is actually in our new mobile app.
This isn't available yet, and I don't actually know if you'll be able to see it. Yeah, you can see it right there, okay? That is my affiliate commissions for being an affiliate in Empower Network, and if you can read it, it says $4,832,095. This is not owning the company. This is in personal affiliate commissions that have been generated since October 31, 2011, the time Empower Network launched, all right?
So that's my results today, even though I look scrawny, even though I look silly, all right? Now, it wasn't always the case. In 2009, I was living in a home business. I had a van. It was a green 1996 Dodge Caravan with the paint peeling off, and I was parking on different beaches on the North Shore and in Honolulu in Hawaii, all right?
And the reason I was homeless is because I had tried so many home businesses that I didn't even have a home anymore because I had no money left, right? Some of you know what I'm talking about. But the reality is, guys, is that what I was doing and what I was being taught just didn't work, right? So I had a job at Greenpeace, and I'm not going to tell the whole story, but I got fired from Greenpeace, right? And it was the only job I could find.
And I had no money left, and I was sitting in my van. And one night, the police came up. They knocked on the window in my van. I woke up at like 2 in the morning, and the police wrote me a ticket, and it was for the last money that I had in my bank account. Literally, like, I think it was more.
It was like I had $35, and the ticket was for $45 or something like that. He wrote me a ticket for sleeping in my van because in Hawaii, you're not allowed to sleep in a van from the hours of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next day. And for me, that was a blessing.
For me, that was a breaking point. Most people, and I'm just talking about most people that I've met in my life. I don't know if everybody's like this. You don't just change. You don't just make a decision.
You need to have life beat the shit out of you. You know what I mean? You need to be humbled, right? I hope you guys don't need to be humbled that bad, but for me, it was like that. And you know what happened to me when that happened?
That was my breaking point, and some of you guys have been there. Some of you know what I'm talking about. Some of you are at a breaking point. And you know what you can do at a breaking point is you can either break, or you can make a decision, right? For me, I made a decision to change.
I said, no more, right? No more. I'm making a change right now. I've decided to do something different right now. So I got started in a business, and I've been around home business, failing and failing and failing, but I never really made a decision to do it, right?
I've been through a lot of training over the years, but never really been exposed to the concepts that I'm going to teach you tonight. I got exposed to the concepts that I'm going to show you guys tonight that were in a much more complicated format than I'm going to show you tonight, right? And within 90 days of being exposed to those concepts, I actually had a moment. Now, I want you to keep this in mind. I was not some sort of a guru when I did that, right?
Nobody knew who I was, right? I was a guy that lived in a van, right? I had no previous accolades. I had no list, right? Some people, they get into this, and they're like, I can't do Empower Network because I don't have a list.
It's like, you know, what other excuses, like, can you come up with, you know? I can't do Empower Network because I'm too old. I can't do Empower Network because I'm too young. I can't do Empower Network because blah, blah, blah, blah, because you're making excuses, right? You can do it.
Just click the button and join. In any case, so I made a decision. I was going to do it. And then in 2011, I decided to start this company because I wanted to, you know, create a rich team, and all the companies I was in was about creating a rich company. It was like the opposite desire, you know what I mean?
And you get around, and, you know, this industry and, like, you know, there's lots of successful companies with a lot of poor reps. And I wanted to create something that was a little bit more balanced, you know what I mean? I mean, I wanted to make good money, but I wanted my team to be rich, you know? And I was always frustrating these things that I was in because they were so complicated to build and they were just so convoluted that nobody could do it, you know? And that was the truth.
And it's not insulting what other people are doing. Like $8,000. I mean, it's ridiculous. It's like you need a whole planet. It's ridiculous.
There's no money in there, you know, to make the thing work, you know what I mean? At least 100,000, you know what I mean? That's like bigger than the city I grew up in, you know what I mean? So I wanted to teach people how to make money and have a life at the same time and be able to do it more quickly. I was sick of the two-to-five-year plan.
I wanted, like, the two-to-five-month plan, right? So today I've reduced that down to a 30-day plan. Now, here's the deal, though. In order to do that 30-day plan, you're going to need to learn to produce, right, which is part of what we're going to teach you tonight. And I'm teaching you a part of production, okay?
And some of that we're going to cover on Thursday, too, and some of that's been covered in other webcasts and stuff. I'm going to be talking about tonight what to do with new members after they join. See, there's two – there's, like, a big gap here, right? And here's what it is. You've got, like, people on the Internet, and you've got network marketers, right?
And network – they're totally different, right? I don't know if you guys have ever met somebody who built, like, a big direct sales organization. I mean, these guys are on the phone all day and night. You know, I have a neighbor, actually, that has a – I live in a – they call it a condominium. In Costa Rica, they're not condos.
They're houses, but it's in a gated community. It's like a gated community. And there's this guy who, like, lives next door to me who's built teams of, like, hundreds of thousands of people and lots of different network marketing companies. He's been in the industry for, like, 35 years, lived in Costa Rica for, like, 30 years. I live in Costa Rica.
I didn't mention that. But in any case, I went down to his house, and he was talking to me about this hot new deal he's in. And I'm like, you know, I thought you made money in real estate or something. He's like, yeah, I make money in real estate. I write books.
I speak professionally. He's like, but the thing I do full time – and I was like, full time? It's like all those things are full time, dude. You know, what do you mean full time? How many hours a week?
He's like, well, I work, like, about 50 hours a week in my network marketing business. And I was like, 50 hours a week plus all this? I was like, what do you do for 50 hours a week in your network marketing business? You know what he told me he does? He's on three-way calls from the time he wakes up to the time he goes to bed, right?
So that's like a normal network marketer, right? And then you have an Internet marketer who just wants to slam the shit out of their list and get rich, right? And both have imbalances. Right? Both have imbalances in them.
And the reason is because these guys have no life and these guys don't either, right? These guys have no life because they're on the phone all day and night. These guys have no life because they have so much attrition in their businesses that they've got to spend so much money on advertising, coming up with new ways to generate clicks that they can't sustain it ever, right? So at Empower Network, we have sort of a balanced in-between model, which is one of the reasons, of course, you should join. But we have a model where we teach people to build a business and have a life.
We teach people how to build relationships. But after somebody joins your business, you know what I mean? I mean, I was always in this model when I kind of grew up in the network marketing industry where they're like, hey, you need to build relationships. And it's like to sponsor someone, you've got to go out to coffee with them and go on a date and get to know them. And then when you're lying in bed after the date, you say, hey, sweetie, by the way, it's Amway.
You know what I mean? That's like the model, right? So it's like I don't want to go around and build a bunch of relationships with the intention of recruiting people. It just feels phony to me, right? I'd rather go out there, market, get people started, and then build a relationship and get them started, right?
Okay? So here's essentially the process. Now, I've got some notes, and I'm just going to make sure that I'm covering everything that I want to cover, all right? This is going to go over a few steps. We did something recently called a – we did a bridge video workshop, right, which is a tool that we're going to have available to our membership.
And I'm not going to talk about that too much tonight, but it is an important part of the forum. And to illustrate this, before I really describe what it is, I want to tell a story. When I got started online, it was a big breakthrough for me because I'd built business from home since 2002, right? But I'd never succeeded.
And the reason was is because, like, it was really hard for me to build up enough contacts to be able to make anything like this work. It was just – it took all day and night. You know what I mean? And I'm just not – like, I seem social because I talk a lot, like, in conferences and stuff, but the truth is I'm a hermit. You know?
When I go to my house in Costa Rica, it's like I got my friends I hang out with, but, like, I don't go to business networking clubs. I'm not out to lunch with five people a week and stuff like that. It would drive me crazy. And I used to do it, and it drove me crazy, right? And so I always had a hard time making these work.
On the Internet, I found relationships with people where they felt like they knew me, but I'd never met them before. And I'm going to tell you this story as an illustration of this point. First event I went to that was built from an Internet crowd was in 2009. I remember going to this event. This lady walked up to me, right?
And she's like, and she starts talking to me like she knows me. And I was thinking, like, this whole time when I was seeing this lady, okay, where do I meet this lady, right? You ever have that feeling somebody comes up to you and they think that they know you and it's like they trust you and they think you're a friend? You're like, who's this person, right? And that's what you're saying in your head, but you act like you know them, right?
So I was acting like I knew her, too, trying to figure out who she was. But then I realized something. I didn't know who she was. I didn't know at all. She'd actually seen me in enough videos to where she felt like I was a friend.
But I'd never talked to her. I'd never called her, you know? And she'd joined one of my businesses and I didn't even know, right? And so she felt like she was my friend. And I was like, this Internet thing is awesome, all right?
So we have a system, and this is something a lot of leaders have done for a long time at Empower Network, where if you want to really get good results with your new members, it's going to be easier to do if they know who you are before they talk to you, okay? And that's just the truth. Sometimes people buy traffic and they just slam people at things. And that works, too, if you really know what you're doing. You've got to really know what you're doing, though, all right?
They slam people at other people's offers and other people's things, right? But if you want to build a relationship with people and you want to connect with people, it helps if they know who you are before they talk to you, right? And I have another breakthrough I got on the Internet where I put a video up, and this is before my company presentation. Right? One of the reasons why I sponsored so many people, I was using the Bridge video system then, too, is before my company presentation.
And I remember I called somebody, you know, who went through that funnel after they joined. And I called up this lady, totally ran from the Internet. I was like, hello, is this Susan? And this is what she does. She goes totally silent, right?
Waits like 30 seconds. I go, hello? And she goes, you're shitting me. I said, shitting who? What are you talking about?
Right? I start laughing. She goes, you're the guy in that video. She's like, you said you would call. And I was like, oh, yeah.
Right? How you doing? And she's like, you actually called me. My God. What should I join?
Right? And it was literally like sponsoring that lady was like, it was like cutting through warm butter with a hot knife. Right? It was just effortless. The reason it was effortless is because the rapport building had already been done.
Right? That's what happens through that bridge video system that we have. Right? It allows you to place a video that really tells people about you, positions you right, before our sales process. So when people get started, you can connect with them and you can do what I've been talking about tonight.
And you're that person who is in the video. You know what I mean? You're that person who's positioned right. Right? And you don't even have to know what you're doing.
We just have it built into a system and you just need to make it, upload it, and click a button. And it's that simple. And I'm not going to talk about that tonight. That resource is going to be out in a couple of days to everybody who's here. And I'm going to talk about it more on Thursday.
All right? So step one. What's step one as part of this formula? I'll walk you through it. Step one is you need to learn how to sponsor a couple of people a day.
I'm not going to cover that tonight because it's not the purpose of this training. Okay? We teach that in other trainings. But you need to learn how to do it. Okay?
Maybe you don't need to learn to do it forever. But you need to learn how to sponsor lots of people. Okay? Lots of people. The reason is, is because too many people don't know how to do it.
The reason is because too many people, they get in a business like this and they want to get lucky like gambling. You can't ever depend on luck if you want to build a business. If you want to be lucky, go to Vegas. You know what I mean? They have a set odds that you can win.
Here there's no odds. Here it's what you do. Right? You never want to depend on luck. You need to learn how to sponsor a couple of people a day.
Okay? Run them through that sequence with our sales video and the bridge funnel. Step two. You want to do a new member welcome call. Okay?
Which is what I'm going to walk these people through tonight. And all a new member welcome call is, it has a couple of things. It has a couple of goals. All right? And I've got this written down because I want to make sure that I cover everything in the same sequence that's in my notes.
Right? And I didn't have time to memorize this stuff. Step one is to build rapport and connection. Okay? To build likability.
Now that's something that's actually really easy to do, especially if you're positioned right. It's not hard at all. As you'll see tonight, it's like the easiest thing in the world. Right? Step two.
You want to find out what they need, what they want, what they desire. Okay? Why they joined. What do they want? What are they here for?
Right? Too many people, they just talk over everybody. You know? It's like they call people and they just start talking at them. It's like a used car salesman.
You know what I mean? Guys, we're not used car salesmen. A lot of people, they try to get people to buy things they don't need or want. And we're not about that. Like for me, if I don't think this is right for somebody, I'll tell them to get a refund.
Right? I'm like that. I'm just like, you know, I don't think this is right. Go get a refund. You know?
Step three. You want to build authority and accountability. All right? Now, the reason you want to do this is because if you don't do it, people are not going to do what you tell them to do. Right?
If there's no boundary, if you don't create rules based on which, you know, the person has to follow these rules in order to get close to you, people are not going to do what you say. They just won't do it. Right? If you want people to do the assignments that you're going to give them, right, you've got to create a boundary where if they don't follow those assignments, there's something they lose. Okay?
You must do it. I'm going to teach you how to do that tonight. Okay? Next step is to schedule them into a new member coach. Okay?
So what I'm going to do today is I'm actually going to do a welcome call with these people, and I'm going to plug them into our system. That's kind of the purpose of the call. Right? Then on Thursday, I'm going to take the same group back, and I'm going to do that new member coaching all in a group. Okay?
And those of you who are on here, you can go through these same assignments with this group, and you're going to get more value out of it if you do. All right? And I hope this is making sense to you. Right? The next step is, and this is really important.
I'm going to give these guys assignments to complete before that Thursday session. Now here's the thing, and guys, I'm going to tell all of you this right now, but I'm also going to tell every new member something like this. If you guys don't complete the assignments, I will not allow you to come on that Thursday session. Right? That's just how it is.
Right? Now the reason is because of who I am, but also who I need you to be. Because I see it like this. Right? I see it like I have a responsibility to help people who are willing to help themselves, who are willing to follow commitments.
I'll follow commitments to people like that. I don't have a responsibility to follow commitments to people who don't want to make them. And also, I think people who don't want to make the right commitments, I don't think this is right for them. So if this isn't right for any of you guys, you're all welcome to get a refund. It's fine.
I don't mind at all. Right? Because I'm not looking to force people to do anything. That make sense? Okay?
So that's what you want to have. Build rapport. Find out what they need and want. Build authority and accountability. Schedule them into the new member coaching.
And give them assignments. Now, the core assignments that I'm going to have, you guys have right in front of you. Right? That book that I told you to download is basically the assignment that I'm going to have them complete. I'm going to have them do everything in this by Thursday.
Alright? And that's actually quite a lot of stuff. Now, this is me. And the reason I like to give people a lot of stuff to do is to see if they do it. Right?
But also, I want to make sure that they're educated right. See, this is what happens too many times. And let me tell you guys the process new people go through. And why I'm going to do this. By the end of tonight, this is going to seem so simple to you.
Because I'm going to do this like ten times in a row. Okay? The reason, think about what new people go through when they get involved in a business. They get involved in something like Empower. Let's say it's Empower Network.
Right? You join Empower Network. And they don't know what to click on. Right? Now, we have really simple assignments in the back office.
Right? We have big buttons that they need to click on to know what to do. Right? But their sponsor doesn't connect with them. Let's say their sponsor doesn't call them or whatever.
Right? They don't know what to do first. So let's say they don't even know to get educated on what products they need and don't need. Right? They don't know which trainings to look at first.
Right? If you don't give them a little bit of direction, they're going to be a little aimless. Does that make sense to everybody on here? You don't want your new team members to be aimless. Alright?
If you can direct them just a little bit, here's what's going to happen. Your attention is going to increase by like five times. Your upsells are going to increase by like three, four, five times. Alright? When your team is actually going to like you and trust you, they're going to stick around and they're actually going to get results.
They're going to go to the events. Right? And then you're going to get the results that you want and so are they. Right? If you don't build any kind of connection with your team, you're going to be fighting an attrition battle real fast.
Alright? And that sucks because if you've got them, it's much easier to keep them than it is to forever continuing to get to replace them and replace them and replace them. Right? And here's what I'm going to promise everybody on here. This might sound complicated right now, but it's actually really simple.
And I'll walk you through it enough tonight to where you're like, oh, that's all he's talking about? Right? Because I'm going to do it so many times. I'm going to do it with each one of these new members that's on here right now and then I'm actually going to, as they're completed, they're going to get off and I'm going to bring a new member on and I think I've got like 10 or 12. Okay?
And I'll do it and do it and do it. And I want you to listen to the language that I use. Okay? And all this language and everything that I use here is actually in one of our products called the Top Producer Formula. All right?
But if you just listen to it and just do it and use the same worksheet that we're giving to you as a bonus. Okay? If you just walk people through this, your upsells will increase by five times. Your attention will increase. Your event attendance will increase.
And more importantly, your leadership development is going to unbelievably increase. Now, if you're in another business, you're welcome to apply this in another business. Right? If you want to know part two of the formula, which is where it really gets cool, then you've got to join. Sorry.
You've got to join. Right? So we'll go over that on Thursday. All right. So let's get started with that.
What I want to do is I actually want to walk through this process with each of these new members. And then I'm going to recap at the end, and then we'll talk about what to do next. I'm going to give all of you an assignment. And if you haven't downloaded it yet, I don't know if it's still available, but if you guys could make sure this download link is available for the next bit, I want everybody to make sure to get their copy. And if your teams aren't on here, guys, get your teams on here because you want your teams going through this process, too.
Okay? So what I'm going to do, Tara, I know that you coordinate with people. So I'm just going to have you bring out one person at a time because I don't know who these people are, except for Michael Erdman, who I've known for a long time. So who's first? First, you're going to have Kathy Plitt.
Kathy. Kathy. Let me end you. Where's she at? I'm going to end you.
Okay. Is she on the menu? No. I think I'm okay. Hi, Dave.
It's nice to meet you. Hey. Is that Kathy? That is Kathy. Thank you.
Okay. I'll talk to her now. Thank you, Tara. Kathy, it's nice to meet you. My mom's name is Kathy.
How are you doing? I'm doing well. Thank you. I really am. Well, I wanted to welcome you out here to this webinar.
Have you ever been on a hang-up before? No. In fact, I had to learn from Tara just how to get on. I've never been on one. I told her she's talking to an old lady that is a real newbie.
So an old newbie. Well, you don't look old, Kathy. Where are you from? Oh. I'm in Portland, Oregon.
I've been to Portland. I actually went to one of my first network marketing events out there. How's the weather in Portland right now? Actually, we've got beautiful weather. It looks like spring.
The dogwood trees are starting to blossom. It's gorgeous out here. So everyone that says, you know, it rains all the time, no. It doesn't. Not all the time.
Hey, Kathy. Can you point the camera just a little bit down so I can see more of your face? It's cut off by all the other people here. Okay. All right.
Thank you. How's that? It's nice to have you on. We've got here.
Here's the deal. I've got about ten minutes to talk to you, and then I've got to move on to the next person. Okay. Sure. So here's what I'd like to do, if this is okay.
Kathy, I'd like to find out just a little bit about you, a little bit about why you joined Empower Network and what you're looking to get out of it. And then what I'm going to do is I'm going to find out what your needs and what your goals are here, really, and I'm going to tell you what to do next. Is that okay? You bet. Okay.
Actually, Dave, I joined through another company that had recommended that we join Empower Network, and I truly, in hearing about it, it sounded like something that I needed. I'm joking when I said I'm an old lady. I mean, I am, but I mean, I'm not a newbie in the sense I have been trying since 2012 to make something work, and it doesn't. So you know where you said you need something that really will humble you and get you off the pot? Due to a lot of medical bills, we lost our home.
And I told my husband, I said, I am going to get this if it's the last thing I do. So I need to make money. I need to work hard, and I'm working now full time, and so any bit of time that I have left, I put it into internet marketing. Many times. It's like 5 o'clock in the morning reading and trying to learn, and I am not a...
Kathy, let's do this, Kathy. I want to get real specific with you as fast as I can. So you've been trying since 2012. You've got medical bills. You lost your home.
You told your husband you need to make money, and you've been spending all of your money on internet marketing training. Pretty much. Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
Here's what I want to do first, okay, just as an assignment for you. Okay. I want you to stop spending money... Oh, I did that. ...outside of Empower Network.
Yeah, I did that. Yeah. Okay. Okay. As long as you've stopped doing that, we're in a good place to move on, just because I want you to focus, because the biggest problem on the internet is focus.
Real quick, Kathy, I need to ask you a handful of questions just to find out a little bit about what you... Really, a little bit about yourself. How much money do you want to make here at Empower Network in order to make it worth your while? To make it work my while... Huh?
10 grand a month. I am at the gate, ready to rear, and I will spend every waking moment doing step one to step two. You've got... There is no way you're going to be calling me, so I really hear what you say. All right.
A long time ago. Yeah. Yeah. A long time ago when I was in sales. So you've got sales experience.
You've sold things before. Yeah. For about 30 years before I retired. Okay. So you're in sales.
What did you sell? Basically, I was a manufacturer's rep, and I sold what they were, car dollies for underneath cars, and... Yeah. Yeah. So basically then I started my own company in, when...
It was 1982, and I did vinyl and leather repair. So I had to go out and sell all the commercial accounts. Get on my suits and look very business. You sell the accounts, and then afterwards I'd put on my overalls and go do the work. And so back in that day, if you could get employees and you had a real store front, you hadn't made it unless...
If you're working on your dining room table or over at your desk, you would have, you dining room table, you haven't made it. And so the big thing was when I finally was able to hire three employees and have my own storefront, it was like, woohoo, I made it. Now, you know, everybody's wanting to work from home on their dining room table. We need to move on just a little bit. So I'm going to move to the next question just for sake of time.
I'd love to hear your whole story sometime from stage. You've had experience in sales. You've owned a company. You've had employees. You've been through the whole gamut.
And that's good because if you've done that before, the good thing is it's probably easier to do here than it was in what you did before, okay? It's a good thing because you already believe you can do it. So here's the next question that I've got for you. You said that you've got full time, but I want to get more specific. How many hours a week do you have available right now that you can dedicate to building your business doing exactly what I tell you to do?
No problem. I can probably work another 30 hours. I work 36 hours as a telephone operator. You know when somebody calls an 800 number? I do that now full time 36 hours.
But I'm okay. I can do another 30 hours a week. So I can just get in there. You can work maybe an extra 30 hours a week. A lot of people, they spend 30 hours a week, but their 30 hours are clicking on things, refreshing their email, clicking on Facebook, checking.
They're looking to see if they got a commission, and they never really do any work. And as a salesperson, you know that you only earn commissions when you're doing things that generate sales, right? Absolutely. That is awesome. I'm talking about, you have 30 hours a week where you can spend productively selling and marketing.
Is that okay? Exactly. That's it. Yeah. Okay.
So next question I've got for you, and I've just got a handful more. You've got 30 hours a week. What's your budget to get your business started right immediately? And also, what kind of monthly budget do you have? Okay.
My husband and I, we talked everything over. We've talked it over, and I told him, I said, honey, I've got to expend some money. Because like I said, we've got a huge amount of hospital bills. I have got to keep it at that, because every single dollar that comes in has the name on it. And I think it's an amazing thing.
I know. Is that okay? Oh, absolutely. I have no problem. Okay.
All right. So here's what we're going to do next. Now, I've got really one more question. Now, here's the deal. If you don't answer this question right, I'm actually just going to tell you to get a refund, all right?
Now, that's not because I don't like you, because I actually do, but it's because I like to be honest with people, okay? Absolutely, yeah. And I also expect honesty, okay? So here's my question for you, Kathy. If I give you an assignment and you agree to do it, okay, and you agree to show up somewhere, are you going to actually do what you tell me you're going to do every time, or are you the kind of person that's kind of wishy-washy and doesn't do what you say you're going to do?
No, I'm kind of that one person that I was raised with your words, your bond. Do it or die. So if I don't show up or I don't do it, it was because it was beyond circumstances, beyond my control. I can control it. I will do it.
Okay. As long, as long, Dave, as it's legal, honest, and ethical. Other than that, so... Yeah, it's got to be in there. It's got to be in there.
Legal, honest, and ethical. As long as it's that, you bet. You give me a job and I'll do it, and that's it. So here's the deal I'm going to make with you, okay? Okay.
And... And I want to kind of reverse this on you because as long as you're going to be honest and you're going to be accountable, I'll be honest and accountable with you, too, okay? All right. Now, here's the thing. You need to work with somebody who's not.
So if you break this, okay, I'm probably not going to talk to you again. It's not because I don't want to. It's not because I don't like you. It's because I must commit to people that commit to me, okay? Okay.
And so there's a couple of things that we need to do next to get your business started right, okay? And part of this is just to see if you're willing to follow through or if you're not going to follow through. And if you're not, it's fine. Again, you can get a refund. So you've got the...
Have you downloaded that worksheet? Do you got the one specifically? I've got the one that says November Outcome Worksheet. And then the second page is Outcomes and Resources Worksheet. Okay.
Yeah. Is that the one you're speaking of? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Now, here's what I want you to do. On the first page, okay, basically, I'm going to just really quickly walk you through what we're going to do.
First of all, I want to invite you to be on this Thursday's new member coaching and to come out where I'm going to take this same group, those of you who want to come. If you don't want to come, it's fine. If you're not willing to do the assignments, it's fine. You don't have to come, okay?
And I want to help you actually get started in your business and make sure that you've got the resources that you need and you're on the right track. But before... Can you make it that Thursday? It's going to be at the same time? Yes.
Yes, I can. Okay. Now, before Thursday, okay, here's the deal, is on this assignment checklist, okay, you have to complete 100% of these assignments in full, all right? So let me actually just briefly walk you through which assignments you need to complete. Now, one of these is specific to our team, and that's the one that mentions a coach, just...
So I'm not going to mention that one here, but you need to do that, too. I'm going to mention the rest of the assignments here, okay? Okay. Assignment number one, okay, it says, I've watched all four videos in the level-up sequence completely, and bonus video number five. Now, real quick here, what I'm going to do, is I am going to just really quickly show you where to find the level-up sequence, and the reason is, if you go to the back office in the members area, if you log in here, just log into EmpowerNetwork.com, and you just want to click this button that says, access level-up sequence here, okay?
I see that. Okay. Okay? Now, in full, these videos are going to take probably three or four hours to complete, and they're going to educate you on all the products and all the services and some marketing knowledge that you need to really build a team. Okay.
So, I'm going to show you how to build a successful Empower Network business, okay? All right. I can actually tell if you've watched the videos or not. I'm warning you. And if you haven't watched them, okay, I won't let you get on Thursday.
Okay. Is that fair? That's fair. Okay. This assignment I'm going to give to you, and you'll actually be able to be a part of the beta group for this.
Those of the rest of you who are in Empower Network, this isn't available company-wide and won't be for probably about 30 days, okay, because we're still doing a testing and a roll-out kind of one phase at a time. Okay. And right now, this is actually going into alpha testing, okay? Do you have a smartphone? I do.
It's a real smartphone. Is it an Android or is it iOS? It's an Android. It's an Android. I mean, yeah.
Okay. It's a Samsung. The latest one, you know, the five-point whatever. Got that.
Yes. Okay. Now, this is a really specific assignment because when you download that mobile app, we're going to give you instructions on how to do it because it's still in alpha testing and not normally available in the back office. Okay.
There's a bonus training that you can unlock in that app, and you need the training, okay? And it's free. It's actually a training session I did that was... We actually did, in that training session, I did a half million dollars in sales live, okay? Okay.
So I want you to get access to that training. In order to get access to that training, all you've got to do is you've got to download the app and invite 25 of your contacts to see one of the videos. Now, I'm not asking you to sponsor your friends and family, and I don't actually even care if anyone's interested. What I'm asking you to do is to send out the invites because you need that training, and you need to do it within 24 hours of today.
Is that okay? You bet. Okay. It'll be done. So can my invites just be with, like, email people to invite them?
Is that what you're... No, all it is... I'll show you. Hold on a second.
Let me make this big. Okay. Oh, okay. I'll put the mouse left here, okay?
I actually just downloaded this today. This just went into alpha testing, so you're one of the first people to use this. We're testing it. It's part of the reasons I want you to use it, okay?
Okay. Yeah. Yeah. You hear it? You see the countdown timer?
Yes. Okay. When you download the app, you're going to have 24 hours to invite 25 contacts, okay, to see one of the videos that's in this. I'd actually recommend the funny video, the viral one, just because I think it's hilarious, and I don't care if my friends and family see something funny. It's hilarious.
But basically, it's going to unlock an eight-hour training for you that's going to help you make a lot of money, okay? And you need that training, and I want you to have the access to that training by Thursday. Is that okay? You got it. Okay.
Next, down here below, okay, there's two works. We have an outcome and resources worksheet, okay? And I want you to fill this out in full, and there's also a core commitment worksheet at the bottom, okay, that goes over eight core commitments. I'm actually going to cover some of them. I'm going to cover this with you in a little bit more detail in the new member coaching, all right?
Okay. But I want you to fill this out in full, okay, with a pen, scan it, sign it, and email it back to me before Thursday. Okay. So I got the core commitment worksheet just back, and the outcome and resources. I got them both already.
Okay. And you'll complete all of this by Thursday? No. I will do it. Let's say, yes.
I'm going to say yes. Yes. I mean, I might stay up until the crack of dawn, but yes, I will do it. It just can't mean that I won't. I will.
Okay. You'll do it by Thursday. When I come on Thursday night, I might be nodding off like that, but yeah, I'm going to do it, Dave. It'll take you four or five hours. Nothing more.
How many? Four or five hours. That's it. Well, I've already watched like six hours of videos. I sat with just one of your things on the cruise.
I can't think of the name of it. Where everybody gets together, and they have the workshop, and I saw that. Oh, God. I wanted to be there, and I just kept watching before time. I'd been on for about six hours, so yeah.
No worries. All right. Complete this by Thursday. I want you to email it back to me, and then I'm going to pull you on that new member coaching session, but I need this completed before that. All right?
Is that fair? Yeah. Okay. And I'll get your email from Tara. Is that who I'll get it from?
It's from the back office. The one that's on your member account for your sponsor. That's my email. Yeah. I didn't know who that was.
Okay. Great. Hey, well, Kathy, it was welcome to the team. I'm looking forward to getting you started right and starting this journey together, and here's what I'm going to promise you, that if you follow the assignments that I'm going to give you, okay, and use your budget dedicated in the direction that I tell you to dedicate it towards, I will help you get results as long as you stick around long enough to get them. Is that fair?
That sounds fair to me, Dave. It really does. I mean, I will put in my time, and I believe you. I do. I believe you'll be there for me.
Okay. Thank you. I love you, too. Okay.
All right. Thanks for coming out. Tara, introduce me to who's next, and let's move on to the next person. Kathy, I'd love to talk longer, but I've got to move on. Guys, that was a little bit longer than I normally do, but it's fine.
But that's it. It's like the easiest thing in the world, right? Next person. All right. Dave, next up we have Diane Francis.
Diane Francis. Diane can – I don't know if I can hear you. Are you there? Yeah. I think she needs to unmute herself or something.
I'm unmuted. Oh, I can hear you. Diane, how are you doing? I'm good. How are you?
I'm doing great. Welcome to the team. Thank you. I'm glad to be here. Have you ever been on a Google Hangout like this, or is this your first one?
No, I've been on a couple. Well, you look confident. That's why I was asking. Okay. Now, a couple of quick questions I'd like to ask Diane, and some of these I really just want to find out how I can help.
You know, what made you join Empower Network? Why are you here? Well, I want to stop working. I actually stopped working March of last year, and the reason for that is I'm a consultant. I've been traveling for 10 years, about 45 weeks out of the year, and my 18-year-old graduated high school, and I realized, wow, she graduated in 10 years of her life.
I was somewhere else, and I decided, okay, 10 years. How many weeks? About 45 weeks. You've been traveling? About 45 weeks a year.
Forty-five weeks a year, and what were you doing consulting on? Software, implementing software, financial and clinical applications in hospitals. Wow, so you're a good teacher then? I am, yes. Okay, that's cool.
Now, what parts of the world have you been to? Did you travel mostly in the States, or did you travel all over the world? Where have you been? Mostly in the States, but I have been to Dubai. Okay.
You've been to Dubai. I've never been there. Yes. Okay. So that was pretty interesting.
Interesting. I do think it's interesting. What's your income goal here? Eventually, I'd like to see that I replace my income and surpass that. I'd love to see that.
Okay. Okay. Yes. You know, when I got started in my business online, I was homeless and living in a van. I wasn't a consultant that traveled all over the world.
I didn't do anything like that. Wow. And really, the process that I followed is just what I'm walking you through right here. Well, I'm looking forward to it. Yeah, yeah.
And then you'd like to be able to hit that. And that's a good place to start, by the way. You said that the main reason that you've brought up so far that I've gotten from you is that one of your daughters graduated and you just realized that you've been away for most of the year, like her whole life. Yes. Is that your core motivation?
Or what do you say is your main motivation for doing this? Is it freeing up time to be with your family? What is it? Freeing up time. A lot of people say time is money, but I don't believe that.
I think time is freedom, and I would like that freedom back. The freedom to do what I want. The freedom to do what you want. Right. And what do you want?
What would you do with your time if you freed it? I would probably travel the world with my kids. The world would be their school, versus sitting in a building. That would be my ideal goal. And of course, living on a Caribbean island, looking over...
Yeah. Sitting on a mountain and looking at the ocean. That's what I want. It's hypnotic when you can live near the ocean. I did that for like two years when I moved to the city, but the ocean's like 45 minutes away, and I've got a view of like 360 degrees around the city.
It's really beautiful. You ever been to the Caribbean before? I have been. I've been to several islands, and I love it.
Yeah. That's great. I've been there on a couple cruises and things. I thought about moving out there several times. Real quick, just a couple questions I've got.
So you want to free up. You really want to replace that income, and so you can travel around the world with your kids. How many kids did you have? I didn't hear you mention it. Two.
I've got two kids as well. How old are they? 18 and 13. 18 and 13? Yes.
Oh, goodness. I don't even know what that's like. Mine are four and one. You got a long way to go. Yeah, I do.
Right now, I have to run everywhere to stop them from dying. Well, you know what? When you have an 18-year-old, you have to run after and stop them from dying. Let me tell you. Hey, guys.
Real quick, I'm going to do a break for everybody who's watching. If you guys notice, and I might interrupt it here, but you notice how her connection to me just changed when we started talking about the kids? Right? Everybody notice that? Right?
That's what you're looking for when you're talking to your members, is you're looking for something that connects you. That make sense to everybody? Right? I just want you guys to pay attention to that. Okay?
We're going to go back. I didn't mean to interrupt our conversation there, Diane. I apologize. It sounds like you're really busy. Oh, I stopped working, so I have overtime in the world.
You said that, but I didn't hear. You stopped working, you said, March of this year or last year? March of last year. Eventually, I have to go back to work, but if I can get this going, I am not going back to work. This will be me.
This will be my work. So how many hours are you willing to take to dedicate towards building this now? I am willing to take as many hours as needed. I'm typically working 60 to 72 hours a week anyway, so I have that. Working anyway, so you'll do as many hours as you get.
And again, just like I had in the last conversation, it's important that with the work that you do, that you make sure it's actually work. Right. A lot of people, it's like, I always ask the question, and you know because you're a consultant, you're familiar with this, entrepreneurs, they work different than employees, right? And a lot of people, they get in a business like this and they think they're working and they're not really working. I'm talking, when you're working here, I just want you to make sure that the work is actually focused on things that produce sales.
Oh, absolutely. Okay, okay. So you've got 60 hours a week or so, right, which is about actually what I did when I got started in my business, right? Right. Right.
All right. How much money do you have to dedicate towards getting started right, and also on a monthly basis to get tools, resources, training, and make sure that you're plugged into the things you need to be plugged into? I didn't realize it. I didn't realize it. I'm going to unmute myself.
Guys, in case you don't know what I'm doing when I'm typing, I'm actually taking notes, okay? The reason I'm doing that, and I'm talking to everybody on the Hangout now, is because if you take notes when people are talking, you'll pay attention to what they say. And most of the time, the biggest problem reps have when they're talking to people is they don't pay attention to what they say, right? And if you don't pay attention to what they say, how are you going to build a business relationship with them? You know what I'm saying?
So that's why I'm doing that. I'm taking actually notes so I can repeat back in exact language, okay, the things that she said. The things that she told me she wants because that's important to her motivations and her desires, right? So that's her budget. She's got 60, 72 hours a week, all right?
And five, six, okay, I've got that. And this is the last question. And then we're going to move on to assignments. This is, again, repeated from the last conversation. I'm just going to keep repeating it.
I'm a man of my word. And all I expect from my team is that my team is also people who, you know, people who follow their word. If I ask you to do something and you agree to do it, I'm not saying you're going to agree to do everything I ask you to do, but if you agree to do it, will you follow through on what you say you'll do or are you the kind of person that just flakes out and doesn't do what you say you'll do? I don't know. Once I make a decision, that's it.
If I see something, I see potential in it, I'm going for it. Okay. So you're going to follow through on what you say that you're going to do? Absolutely. Okay.
Here's what we're going to do. We're going to go through some preliminary assignments that you're going to need to complete before Thursday. I want you to come out to this new member coaching that we have on Thursday where I'm going to walk through what you do. But before that, I need you to go through some preliminary education. Now, if you've been through some of that education already, you can just check it off in the process, okay?
But can you be here on Thursday in that group? Is that okay? Oh, yeah, definitely. Okay. So I just want you to pull out this paper again that I've given everybody on tonight's Hangout.
Do you have it in front of you? I do. All right. Hold on just a second. So once again, I'm going to go through the assignments here, all right?
Now, this is a mutual accountability thing. And the reason I'm giving you the assignments is because if you don't complete them, I won't let you on Thursday. And it's not because I don't like you because I actually think you've got a lot of potential here. It's because this is like a check. I want to see if you're going to do what you're going to do, and then we can see how much we're going to work together, okay?
Okay. Is that okay? Yeah. Assignment one, I want you to watch all four videos. Okay.
And the bonus video in the level-up sequence. It'll take you maybe three, three and a half hours to do. Will you do it? I've done that already. You've done it already?
Yeah. I want you to get instructions on getting the mobile app. And I want you to follow the instructions in the mobile app to unlock the top producer formula. You need to invite 25 people to view one of the videos to do that. Will you do it?
I can do that. Okay. It's just a training. You can't get it any other way. And I actually think it's one of the best trainings we have at Empower.
It's like when I did that, actually, one of our people that went to Harvard Business School, they said that this is just like Harvard-level education on selling. It's really, really good. It's one of the reasons I'm assigning that. I want you to follow that third step that's specific to the team. If you haven't done that already, I'm just not going to mention it because it's specific to me.
And then the next step is fill out the outcomes and resources worksheet here. And I should take you really – a lot of it's a repetition of things that we've said, but I want you to fill it out in your own time. And then the next one, actually, this also has – and I didn't mention this the last time because I forgot, but it has a core commitment form. I want you to fill that out. Check off the boxes so I know where you're at.
And there's an additional assignment here that would be helpful, and that's that there's a training we have called the Fast Start Training if you have not watched it. It's about the eight core commitments. If you have watched it, you're good to go. I just want you to go through, fill out the sheet, and email it back to me before that Thursday hangout. Can you do it?
Oh, absolutely. Great. Well, I look forward to seeing you on Thursday and getting you started right. And I just want to congratulate you. Welcome to the team.
And one thing I want to tell you, okay, is – I mean, I talk to people all the time. You do have the potential to do this. And you're right. You have the ability to do this. So I'm looking forward to working with you.
Thanks for coming by. All right. Thank you, Dave. Okay. Great.
All right. So, Tara, let's bring on the next person. Guys, just real quick, a couple things I wanted to point out. Do you see how easy this process is? Like, if you do this, here's what's going to happen, right?
Everybody who comes on is now – look, these people, they're brand new, right? And they follow those assignments. What happens? Right? Automatically, right, they know what all the products are.
They're educated on them before all the discounts run out, right? They can – they commit to do the right things, right? And you've established an authority with them where they actually want to be in your team, and they want to do what you tell them to do, right? Now, those of you who are not in Empower Network, just click the button and join, right, and go through this process with us between now and Thursday, because no matter who invited you here, you can go through this same process, okay? Fill out that form, complete the assignments that we gave you on the page, right?
And then be here next Thursday, and then just go through the same process. I'm going to walk everybody through, and I'll have you on the same page. I'll help you get started right as well, okay? That's all you've got to do. Just click the button and join.
All right, so we're going to move on. I think it's Michael Erdman. Is that the person who's coming on next? Yes, Michael Erdman is next. Michael, I have not seen you in like five years or something.
How are you doing? Yeah, it's been a while. Good, good. Now, he just – a little story between Michael Erdman. This is a little bit different.
He joined – what? Was it iLearning Global or Numis? I can't even remember. I was the first person that joined Numis. I know you.
So this guy joined a team of mine like years ago, and then I did this experiment where I flew all over the country doing meetings, and I did a meeting for him out in like Seattle, Washington or something like that, and I just remember driving around with you, you know? We had Ken Wells out there.
Yeah, yeah, that's right. So I was like, oh, oh, oh, oh, confrontation. Ken Wells out there. Yeah, that's right. Hey, Scott.
Huh? Good to see you. Great to see you. You've got a new T-shirt and flip flops, dude. It was awesome.
What have you been doing for the last 4 or 5 years? Building a blogging company, so yeah. Wow, yeah. You're... Oh, you're still...
I remember that thing you were doing. Yeah, yeah. Okay, okay. All right. Well, great to have you on.
It's my pleasure. I haven't worked with you in like four or five years. Tell me what you're looking for and why you decided to join. Well, a lot of it, Dave, was curiosity. I joined Empower when you first launched, and I was pursuing my own business, so I didn't take advantage of that at the time.
And so then I saw some of the new stuff that had come out. I've been kind of watching it as it evolved and saw some of the new stuff, especially the new blogging platform that came out, and it was curiosity more than anything that just decided to jump in and take a look around and see what you're doing. Okay, so you decided to see what I'm doing. Now, are you looking to actually accomplish anything here, or are you just kind of checking it out and poking your feet in the water? What are you doing?
Yeah, I'm listening to everybody on here. So, you know, the strategies that you've got, I'm interested in learning more about and employing. So, yeah. No, it's fine.
It's fine. I mean, this may or may not be for you. Maybe you just want to get the training and apply it to something else, and that's totally appropriate to do. So here's my question for you, and I'd rather just, like, cut through everything, because I know you already. We don't need to go over a lot.
Is what income would you need to make here in order to make building this and focusing some time on it worth your while? Yeah. You know, I've got my other company going, and obviously, it's going well past that. But, you know, the idea of building a secondary stream of income. But here's the real key is that you're offering an opportunity for people to make as much money, nearly as much money as I get from a subscriber that I bring to my business, and I have employees and overhead and the whole entire traditional business structure in place, which was attractive to me, because where else can you go and get these types of commissions by offering a tool that's already in place?
And, guys, it's the best quality blogging platform I've ever seen, and this is what I do full-time for work. This is what I build, is a similar type of network. Awesome, Evan. Good.
See, he's selling people for me. So, now, I'm just going to, once again, I want to cut through things here to see if you want to do this or not, because if you want to take my time, I'm going to take my time with you, all right? And you're a guy who always goes into selling like I go into selling, right? Sure. But I'm talking about you.
I'm talking about Mike Lerdman here. Yeah, yeah. I'll tell you. I have plenty of time right now. I could definitely dedicate some time to it.
Okay. Then here's what I want to do. I'm going to skip through a whole bunch of other stuff that we've got because we don't need it, okay? Sure. And those of you who are watching, this is just something I do.
I've got a previous relationship with Michael. I've known him for years. I don't need to go through this with him, so I'm just going to skip over. I want you to just complete the assignments and come back on Thursday, all right, and just let me know by Thursday after completing the assignments and seeing what they're about if you actually want to do it or not. Here's the deal.
If you don't want to do it, don't send me back the form. Don't come on Thursday's Hangout, and we're good. If you do want to do it, send me the form, sign it, commit to do the things that are in it, and then I'll come back on Thursday, and I'll show you what to do next. Is that fair? Hey, fair enough.
That sounds great. All right, man. Rock? I'm looking forward to connecting with you and talking to you on Thursday. Let's move on to who's next.
We'll have a personal conversation sometime. I'm wondering how you're doing. I know. You bet. That's right.
That's part of me jumping on here tonight. That's great, man. It's good to see you're doing well. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Good to see you too, man.
Good to see you too. It's always fun running into people I've known for a long time. That's the thing, guys, is what Michael pointed out. He's like, this is almost as much as he gets from getting a subscriber, and he runs a company with employees and staff. You know what I mean?
And that's like the beauty of network marketing. You can use my employees and my staff and really earn leveraged income beyond what you can earn even in most businesses because you don't have to take the time to set up the infrastructure that most people have, which is one of the reasons why you should just click the button and decide to get started. It's just precisely for that reason because what you're going to have the ability to do is to create an income like a real business owner but without having to have the infrastructure and customer service and employees and all the stuff that you really don't want, and truthfully, if I could be a rep at Empower, I would just be a rep and not own it because it's the most awesome thing ever. So in any case, who are we bringing up next? Up next is Kyle Josie.
Kyle. Kyle, welcome, man. How are you doing? Hi, how are you doing? Hey, you're doing great, man.
You're cutting in and out a little bit, okay? I just want to make sure I can hear you. Can you just talk for a second? Hi, how are you doing? Hold on one second.
There you go. All right. Good enough, good enough. Kyle, I wanted to welcome you to the team. We can't see a moving picture, but it's totally fine because I can hear your voice.
Okay. Where are you from? I'm from Philadelphia, but I just moved to New Jersey. Okay, so you live in New Jersey right now? Yes.
Okay, and what do you do for work out there? I'm actually a manufacturer. I work for a lottery company. I manufactured a lot of your balls, but the actual company, we make the actual machines for the lottery companies, multiple lottery companies over nationwide, so you talk about Jamaica, all overseas and everything.
So, I mean, it's a good job, but most of the time, like with the family that I have, I'm looking for something more, you know? Yeah. You have a family? Yes. I have two boys.
I have two boys, a girl on the way, and I'm married. I have my wife. Say that again? I said that's expensive, isn't it, having a family that big? Yeah.
I mean, I'm being honest here. This might sound ridiculous. I mean... Well, I'd say the last four years before I came back, I was...
Back in October, I was in Afghanistan for three years, so... Wow. I mean, I was DOD contracted. I've been in Afghanistan, so I was okay. I was able to maintain.
You've been doing all right then. So, you've served the country, you've gone out to Afghanistan. Now, you're building lottery machines, and you want something more. Yes. What are you looking for that's more?
What's the income goal that you've got that, if you hit it here, it would make dedicating your time to this worth your while? Well, like I said, when I was over there, I was at least bringing 5,000 to 8,000 home. If I can bring more, I would be satisfied. Correct. Okay.
And how many hours do you have that you could dedicate per week to your business to making 5,000 to 8,000 dollars a month? Man, look, I get off work at 3.30, and I'll dedicate myself to do anything that I need to do to make sure that this gets done. Well, give me a number, because here's what I want to make sure is I don't want to be ambiguous. I want to know how much time are you willing to commit to your business on a weekly basis, on a consistent basis? On a consistent basis, in order to hit your goal of 5,000 to 8,000 dollars a month, so you can get a little bit more for your family.
I could give you 20 hours a week if I have to. Okay. So, 20 hours a week. Okay. Now, this is the important thing, is because a lot of people, they say something like that, but they're not willing to do it.
And I want to make sure that you're willing to work, and you're willing to do it. And you went to Afghanistan, so I don't think you're afraid at work. I think you know how to work. No, I love to work. That's one thing.
I can sit still. But, yeah. You know, if I can be active and do something to make somebody else better, you know, I'll do it. That's what I will do. Cool.
You got one up on me there. So, you know. So, okay.
So, we got it. So, 20 hours a week. You've got some kids. You're married. Right?
All expensive things. Yes. And, okay. So, 20 hours a week, and have you ever done anything like this before, or is this your first time? Marketing.
I mean, I worked at Walmart, and I did sales there, but it's not like, you know, internet sales. So, this is new. So, you've done sales, but not internet sales. Okay. It's good to do a good thing.
Right? So, last question I've got for you, and then I'm going to kind of move on. All right? And this is important to me. Okay?
How much time are you really... What's your staying power? In other words, if you don't... I actually have a question after this, because I forgot one. It's getting late.
But what's your staying power? How long is it going to be before you decide to quit and go do something else? If I invest my time and money into this, I'm going to make sure I stick with it until I accomplish what I need to accomplish. So, you're going to stick with it until you accomplish what you need to accomplish. Now, last question here that I almost forgot.
What's your budget for getting this started right? In other words, how much money do you have available right now to get it started right? And then how much do you have on an ongoing monthly basis to put into your business to make sure that it operates correctly and you've got the tools and the resources you need? Between $200 and $300. What's the difference between per month and now?
Do you have anything available as extra resources now? Extra resources now? Not with the mortgage, no. Okay. All right.
I just want to be fair, and we can talk more about that later. So, you've got $200 to $300 available. You're willing to stake it out and to take as long as you need, right, to do it. Correct. Is that right?
That's correct. Last question I got for you, all right? And this is important, and I really actually want you to think about this for a second. Don't give me just a snap answer. The reason is because I want you to give me a true answer, okay?
Because if this isn't right for you, okay, I don't want you to spend your money here if this isn't right for you. I'd rather say, hey, go get a refund, go get an extra job at McDonald's or something, and do it that way. I'm playing a little bit, but I'm serious, okay? I want to make sure that you're willing to do what you say you're willing to do. So, if I give you an assignment and you tell me you're going to do it, in other words, you make a commitment to me and I make a commitment to you, are you going to follow through on your end of the commitment, or are you the kind of person that likes to break promises and doesn't follow through?
See, with me, I love criticism, and I love everything that goes on with life. So, anybody tells me to do something, I'm going to make sure I get it done. So, if you say you're going to do something, you're going to get it done? Guaranteed. Okay, so here's what I want to do next.
Before our next conversation, I'd like you to come back out on our Thursday Hangouts at the same time, and I'm going to walk us as a team through, really, what resources you're going to need, what products you're going to need, and what you need to do to get your business started right towards making that income. Can you get on that Thursday Hangout? Yes, I can. Okay, so here's what I want you to do before then. Do you have that form that Tara sent out to you?
Yes, I do. Okay, so if you just scroll down to the assignment sheet. I've got a checklist. I'm going to really briefly walk you through these assignments. Now, here's the deal.
All of these assignments need to be completed in full, okay, before Thursday. And if they're not, it's okay, but I won't invite you on the new member coaching. I won't ever invite you on one again. So you actually need to do this before Thursday. Is that okay?
Hello? I think you cut off. Oh, are you there? Yeah, yeah, you were cutting in and out for a second. So you'll get these done before Thursday?
Yeah, I'm still here. So you'll get these done before Thursday? I can't hear him. Can you hear him, Tara? Done before Thursday.
Okay, yeah, he said he's going to get it done. Kyle, you're having internet connection issues, so I think you can hear me, but you're on your connection flow. So here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to walk you through these real briefly because I want to be quick, and then I'm just going to see you Thursday. And as long as you complete these in full, I'll invite you back to Thursday.
Number one, you need to watch that same level-up sequence that I walked them through earlier in this webinar. Just log into your back office. Click on Level Up Sequence. Now, a lot of people, they start going through that, but they don't watch the videos in full. If you don't watch the videos in full, I won't allow you on the next training, okay?
I can actually tell. I just want to let you know that. And step two, okay, you're going to get access to the alpha group in our mobile app, and I want you to follow the assignment in there, which is to invite 25 people that you know in your mobile phone to see one of the videos in this app. And that's going to unlock a training for you. And that training is one of the best trainings we have at Empower Network, and it's free, and there's no other way you can get it.
Will you do that before Thursday? Yes. Okay. Next thing I want you to do is a team-specific assignment. I'm not going to repeat it on the webinar, but it's that third thing there that mentions a specific site for me.
The next step, I want you to fill out the two worksheets that are attached. We have an Outcome and Resources worksheet and a Core Commitment worksheet, and they've each got assignments that you need to complete. Will you get those done as well? I think he just got cut off. He was having an internet problem, so maybe we'll see him, maybe you don't.
Kyle, if you can still watch it, as long as you can complete those assignments, I want to invite him back on Thursday, and I just want to make sure that you email this form to me. So Tara, if you could reach out to him, make sure that he understands what to do, because his internet was going in and out before we were finished there. Okay? All right. Who do we have next?
Next question. Next we have Christy Hamilton. All right. Hold on. Oh, Kyle's back.
Hold on a second. Kyle, how you doing? Let's just move on. Hey, Kyle, if you can hear me, Tara's going to be in touch with you with the assignments, just to make sure that you understand, and then we'll pull you back on Thursday as long as you've completed them. Okay?
All right. Thank you. Hey, thanks for coming out, man. I can actually see you now. Good to see your face.
All right. So guys, I want to point out to you something here really quick. Do you see what I'm doing here? All right? It's really simple. I'm just building rapport.
Right? Connection with people. Emotional connection. Okay? I'm finding out what they need and want, what they're willing to do.
Right? I'm establishing authority and credibility. I'm telling them what to do next. Now, the reason I'm not really upselling right now is because they're not educated yet. And for me...
Right? Like a lot of people, they want to pop on with a member on the phone. And the member's not educated. They haven't been through any of the training in there. And they try to sell them something that the person doesn't even want and need or doesn't even know what it is.
Right? So what I do is I'm finding out what they need and want. I'm telling them to go through an educational process. Okay? That they're going to complete before the next session.
Right? And then in the next session, based on what their resources are, what they need and want, what their budget is, I'm going to assign them what to do next based on that, based on what they want, based on what they want to get. Not based on what I want to get. Right? Okay?
Not based on what I want to get. Now there's an important distinction here. And here's why. Part of this is what you say. But part of this is what's in your heart.
Okay? For me, I have an others-based focus. Okay? My focus is on the success of the other person. Not on their wallet.
All right? If these people can buy all the products, they can buy all the products. If they can't, they can't. Right? I don't care.
Right? What I care about is that I help them hit their goals. And I make sure that they get the resources that they need to hit their goals with their budget, with their resources. If you focus like that, it's a totally different energy. And the people on here, they feel it.
Right? The reason it's a different energy is because I'm looking into what they want, and I'm helping them learn how they can get what they want from their business. All right? Because not all of them are here because they're like a network marketing legend, and they're going to make a million dollars. They're here because of what they want, not because of what I want.
But you see, that's just the same process every single time. This takes like 15 minutes. And if you do it, it will multiply your income by three to five times. Okay? Easiest thing in the world to do.
And the next part is easy to do, too. Right? And I'm going to show you that on Thursday. It's like the easiest thing in the world. So I appreciate you for coming out, Kyle.
And I'll see you on Thursday. You'll complete the assignments by then? Yes, I will. I'll make sure they're done. Awesome, brother.
Thanks for coming out. So who are we bringing out next? Next, we're bringing on Christy Hamilton. Christy Hamilton. Is that Good Night?
Is that who that is? Yes. Good night, Christy. How are you? I'm good.
Thank you. Where are you calling in from? Cocoa Beach. Florida, that is. Okay.
Cocoa Beach, Florida. Florida. I have been to Florida, but I'm not- Orlando. It's near Orlando? Where's- Yes.
We're just east of it. Okay. Okay. I've been to Orlando, but not Cocoa Beach. How's the weather out there right now?
It's beautiful. Well, thanks for coming out. It's a pleasure. Thanks for having me. You're welcome.
Fabulous. Is this your first time ever being on a hangout, or have you been on something like this before? No, I've never been on a hangout.
Well, I'm happy to have you out. We're kind of up on time here, so we've got about 10 minutes. What I want to do is just get into a couple of questions, find out why you kind of joined and what you really want and need here, and then see if I can help you. Is that okay? Absolutely.
What was it that you saw in Empower Network that made you decide to join? Well, what are you here for? This is really funny. Actually, I was sponsored by you and somebody else, and so there's a big mix-up. I actually didn't know why I was joined.
I was just told to join, and that was where I was going to blog from. Okay. So you joined the blog. That's all I knew. So you kind of have a weird mix-up, and we can get that fixed with customer support or whatever, but you're here to blog.
Yeah. What else are you here for? I was part of a marketing group, and this was going to be my blog platform that I had paid lots of money into, and long story short, Tara and I talked this afternoon and we swapped sponsors. Okay. So in the beginning, when you were talking about how it's important to sponsor to follow up with your new team members, I was never followed up with.
I signed up, and then I was left hanging. Well... It wasn't because you did it. It was because of somebody else. I was supposed to be, you know...
So anyway... That brings up a can of worms subject there that I'm not going to get into, but we don't actually allow sponsor switching, but we'll talk about it later. I'm not going to talk about that tonight. Okay. I didn't have a sponsor, actually.
I didn't have one. I haven't done anything. Okay. Okay. It's fine.
We'll talk about it another time. Sorry. Here's what I want to know. Here's what I want to know, and there's a reason why I'm asking this, and that's because I can't really tell why you came on this Hangout specifically, okay? And it's okay if there's not really a big reason, because if you would just like to use our blog and blog, it's fine.
This Hangout specifically is sort of for people who joined Empower Network from the affiliate side because they want to make money with this here. Do you want to do that, or do you just want to kind of use the products and do your own thing? Because it's okay. Either way. No, no, no.
When I got to reading Empower and what it was about, I thought, why didn't I know this before? So when I got the call, I said, yeah, absolutely. And I do my homework and follow up with, because that's the accounting businesswoman side of me. So I'm into working less to make more money. So you do want to make money here, then?
Oh, I do. Oh, absolutely. Okay. I actually love networking. I love meeting new people, and I love – there is a difference in marketing and selling, and I can sell pretty much anything.
So I do have a little bit of that aspect. So you're good at selling things, too, then? I am. Okay. Okay.
I can say that. So you want to make more money here. How much more money do you want to make? I would say – How much do you want to make?
Did you hear me? Yeah. There's a little bit of a delay. So it's like I ask a question, and then there's a gap, and then you answer it. So it's a little bit awkward, but it's okay.
Okay. That's correct. Okay. Have you ever made that much money before? Yes.
Okay. That's good. You can market and sell. Okay. How much time do you actually have?
Because it sounds like you're busy. Oh, well, I quit that job, so now my time is unlimited. So right now you have a full-time schedule. I want to be specific. She got cut off.
Did she get removed, or did she just fall off? What happened? It looks like she just fell off of her internet connection. Okay. Can you connect with her if she wants to come back out, bring her back out?
If she doesn't, totally fine. So I'm just going to move on to – I have time for two more, Tara, because we're coming off – you were coming up at like 90 minutes, and I'm just repeating the same thing over and over again. Okay. So I think that we've got two more people here. Let's finish with that, and then I'm going to give people assignments, and we're going to go on to what's next.
Is that okay? All right. We have – Tell the other people who you had scheduled. I'll just connect with them tomorrow. And so we only have one more.
If there's anything more, tell them we'll talk to them tomorrow. So the next person we have is actually a friend of mine. This is actually cool to have him out. Sifu, is your microphone working? If his microphone's not working, it's fine.
I can talk to him one-on-one tomorrow. It'd be cool to have him out, though. Hello? No, I think his microphone's not working. Man, he waited up here.
Because I told him to wait up just to pop on this thing. Probably like punch me next time I see him. Hey, can you talk? I think your microphone's not working, man. I'm probably going to have to call you tomorrow.
Hey, Dave. This is Trav. I just connected with Sifu on Skype, and for some reason it's not working on the Hangout, but he sends all his love, and he wanted nothing more to be here. He's loving what you were doing tonight, man. Is he?
Yeah. Well, Sifu, why don't we do this? Sifu, just fill out that same form that we gave to everybody else, and then see if we can resolve the microphone thing, and we'll pull you out on Thursday. Those of you who don't know who that is, that's like my Kung Fu teacher. He lives over in Italy, and is just a great mentor of mine in martial arts.
So best martial artist I've ever met in my life. Hey, no problem, man. No problem. I made you – I'm sorry, dude. I made you wait up, and you've spent all this time, and now you can't come on.
So we'll see if we can resolve it, and see if we can pull you out on Thursday at the same time. Maybe you'll come and check your microphone or something before then. So guys, here's what I'm going to do, all right? The reason I wanted to walk that through with new members is because you get to see everything. I mean, tonight you saw somebody that didn't – just kind of joined because they're like, yeah, whatever.
I want to see what Dave's doing. My good old pal Michael, but we'll see if he wants to do it or not. We'll see if he'll come back on Thursday or not. You saw people that really seriously wanted this, you know what I mean, and were willing to do about anything as long as it's legal and honest.
In order to do it, right? You saw him mix there too, didn't you? That's a totally different energy that you get from people. One of the things that you're going to notice with all the people that you bring in, okay, is that they're going to be different like that. I'll tell you what you're really looking for, okay, is you're looking for all of them, right?
See, most people, they're so focused on leaders that they miss everybody else. The problem is that everybody else is like 98% of your group, right, and most leaders are not found. Most leaders are created, right? It's like martial arts. I got Sifu here so I can make martial arts metaphors.
He can at least hear me, appreciate it, right? You don't just step into like a martial arts school and be a master the next day, you know what I mean? It takes time. It takes time. Too many people, they're focused on people that are already kung fu masters.
Well, there's only a few in the world, right? I've seen people on blog posts. They're like, I only sponsor and work with leaders, you know what I mean? It's like, so where's the rest of your team at, you know what I mean? So I'm looking for people who want everything.
I'm looking for people with every budget. I'm looking for people with every goal, right, because I'm going to help them all to the best of my ability to get what they want, not what I want. See, somebody comes up, and this is really important, guys, it's really important distinctions to make. See, somebody comes on here and they tell me their honest budget, right, and their budget's like 500 bucks a month. They don't have anything else.
That's it, right? How dumb is it for me to try to push that person beyond their capacity and stress them out so bad that they just quit? It's dumb, isn't it, right, and that's what a lot of us do because we're trying to get a sale of one particular thing, right, but if they have a need and want that's maybe a little bit lower, budget that's lower, but a time commitment that maybe is really consistent, I don't care if it's 200 bucks a month, 300 bucks a month they can dedicate, 150 bucks a month, and that's it. I don't care. I'm going to fit a model into their goals and dreams because I'm others' focus, right?
That's why I get a lot of upsells. See, when I talk to people, they always buy more products, you know what I mean, always, right? But the other power in that is if somebody just does that, if they just follow those assignments and fill that form out, right, which not all of them will, I promise you, right? Maybe 70% of them will, right? Not all of them are going to do it.
70% of them will do it, I promise you. You'll see on Thursday, right? But if they just fill that out, guess what? They're going to buy twice as much stuff by going through that process. They're going to be educated on all the products that we've got here, right?
And you could bring a member in and make them worth five times as much. So those of you who are not in, right, who are watching this, who are like, you know, what's this all about? What do you do? You get new members, run them through a 20-minute process, right, give them assignments, and that's it. And if you do this, what's going to happen?
You're going to see on Thursday, right? Your income is going to dramatically increase. Right? It's going to drastically increase above a person that doesn't do it, right?
And guess what? Your team's going to stick around for a long time. You know, when I first got started on the internet, this is something that's like easy to remember, you know what I mean? I was talking to Marge about this, and it's like people, sometimes people, they start building a business, and it's like they succeed, and then they stop doing what made them succeed. Now, I've done some of that too, you know, where I stopped doing something, and really I should keep doing it, you know, but I'm just like, I'm lazy there, whatever.
But I want to give you guys an example of this, because it's really important, okay? I did this with everybody I brought into any organization that I ever built, right? For like, probably two years, right, is about what I did it for. It took me like 30 or 40 minutes a day, maybe 50 minutes a day, if I brought in three people, maybe an hour a day, right? It's like 20 minutes a person, that's it, right?
I don't really talk to them all the time, I'm not on hangouts with them all the time, I'm not giving them one-on-one help, because it's not useful, right, but I just run them through this process, right? And then I plug them into the system. I plug them into resources, and because I do that, the people buy the things that are appropriate for them. So I make a lot more money from everybody I bring in, but they also stay around like ten times longer, right? So those first two years, this is the interesting thing, were responsible for creating most of the core relationships that I've got on the internet, because I stopped doing it after that, right, for a long time, and I had other people that kind of got lazy, right?
But most of the real animal I've created, okay, which is hundreds of thousands of people and over $150 million in sales, right, they were created from relationships generated from two years of just doing what I showed you to do. Before Empower Network existed, right, because those relationships I created before this existed are what created Empower Network, right, and all the leaders and all the downline and everything that we've got now. That's why I decided to really lead by example and bring this back, because I actually like connecting with new people. It's fun, you know what I mean? It's fun to do.
And if you do it, just like I just taught you to do it, you're going to do it again, right? I mean, without even knowing what you're doing and just asking questions about what people need and want. And pay attention to a couple of things. Like, don't let people ramble on forever and ever when you ask them a question. You should be on the phone with some people for hours doing that, right, after they've answered it.
Just kind of, you know, just say, hey, we've got to move on. I've only got a few minutes. You know what I mean? That's not rude to them. It's just you're letting them know, hey, I've got limited time, and if you want to work with me, we've got to do it this way.
Right? It's the right attitude. You know what I mean? It's like if I show up and I want advice, you know, I want help. I want a Sifu to teach me Kung Fu, right, I've got a choice.
I can try to do it my way or do it his way. Well, if I try to do it my way, I'm not a good student, right, and you're not going to keep teaching me if I don't listen, because it sucks to teach somebody who doesn't listen. You should just be the same. They've got to follow your rules if they want to be in your team, so you just take that worksheet and walk them through it, right? Now, I'm going to tell you on Thursday how this all ties together, and I'm going to fit it into a model for you, and you guys are going to see how it works, and you guys are going to see how easy it is to get people to upgrade, buy more products, and really how you can make a difference.
You're going to make a lot of money in this business, and I'm going to paint this together in a way you guys are going to say, holy crap, this is like way more accessible than I thought. A lot of times, all you've got to do is hear it, and the cool thing is about tonight, you've got to hear everything, right? You've got to hear everything. You know, Mike Lordman came out, and he's like, I don't know if I really want to do this, but you know, this is a great business, and starts selling, because that's how he is. He's a friend of mine.
He's like, you know, he just opens his mouth and begins to sell, you know what I mean? It's how he is. I've known that guy for years, and he's great. I'm like that, too. I sell it.
You know, and you have all those other people, and they're like, dude, you tell me to do something. I'm there. I'm going to do it. I'm going to follow the assignments. I don't care how much money it is.
I don't care how much time it takes. I don't care how much work I have to do. I'm going to do it, right? I want them all. Why?
Because all of them make a team. You know, there's a metaphor for that I heard at a seminar once, and I've heard this actually in a lot of seminars that I took in my earlier days in network marketing, and it's true. And this is where most people miss this business, all right? Because most people, they're like only looking for big wigs, big shots, right? Because they think that's the key, right?
But really, none of the big shots operate like that. It's only little guys that think they're big shots, right? Because big shots understand something, that cultures and teams are made up of different kinds of people, right? Different kinds of people, right? Who do we got, right?
We got people that really, truthfully, they just want to be a part of something and do not care if they make any money ever, right? They want to hang out, use the products, go to the events maybe. Maybe not go to the events, maybe pop on a call, you know what I mean? That's all they want to do. And they're just in.
They're just kind of, like, I kind of like this, you know what I mean? Those people are really important. It's really important not to pressure them out, right, because they're a really important part of your income. It's like 50%, 60% of your income is from those people, right? And then you got people that are like weekend warriors, you know what I mean?
It's like they work 10 hours a week, and they'll show up on the weekends and work, and those people... That's a huge, huge amount of your organization, right? They're important, too. And they'll buy, like, the Inner Circle, they'll buy the Top Producer, they'll buy a couple other products we got at Empower, you know what I mean? They're not going to buy everything.
They're just going to hang out for a long time, and maybe later they'll make a decision, right? And then you got, like, full-timers, and you saw a couple of those on here. Now, those are the ones that recruit all the people. Some categories one and two, right? Those people are producers.
They're going to go out there, they're going to make six figures no matter how much time it takes, right? Now, those obviously deserve more of your time, and they're obviously, from a time perspective, more important, right? But then you got, like, your generational leaders, right? Justin Varenges, Aaron Raskins, right? You know, people like that.
People like me, you know what I mean? People like Tracy Walker, right? And you know what? Everybody's focused on those people. There's, like, one in 5,000 of your team.
Right? Or something like that. One in 1,000, maybe, right? All of them. So if you connect with them, they're going to want to stick around you, and if you don't, they won't.
Right? That's how I do it. So take it or leave it, right? The mobile app thing's not available for everybody in Empower Network right now, but it will be here soon. We're just going through some testing and rollout with it before it's available.
So just ignore that part of it and do the rest, right? But I hope this was valuable to you. Now here's what I want to know. I want to know if what you guys just saw is valuable and if you believe you could do what I just taught you how to do. If you guys thought that was valuable, right, let me know and just tell me in the comments if you got value out of tonight's training.
And if you're excited to come back on Thursday and see what to do next. Now here's what you guys need to do next, okay? Those of you who are here. See, this is the same thing with everybody. It's not like I'm changing it, you know what I mean?
You're like, wait a second. It's like after the fifth one, you're like, wait a second. He just said the same thing to that one that he said to the first one and the second and third one, right? It's like, well, yeah, it's like the same stuff in the top producer formula. It's the same stuff I've said for five years.
It's not crap. I shouldn't say it like that, but it's like you don't need to change this all the time. It's like the easiest thing in the world to do. It only takes like 20 minutes. Now here's the key.
The closer you can get a person to joining, the better that works, okay? Like now I'm actually like, I can't wait until you guys get access to this, but don't wait until you get access to it to do it, right? But this mobile app is so freaking cool, like because you get push notifications when people join, you know what I mean? Like push notifications. Actually, I sent an invitation through this thing to my brother to watch one of these videos, right?
And then I got a push notification when he watched it, you know? I was like, that's awesome. That is the shit, right? And we're still perfecting the process in that, but this mobile app is awesome, guys. It's got my income in there, got how much I've made.
You can unlock that top producer live bonus for free just by inviting 25 people, so that'll actually get people to invite people to look at it. It'll grow your organizations faster. It's really cool, but we're testing it first, right? So just if you don't have access to that, it's fine. You know, it's fine.
So here's what I want you guys to do who are on here, right? You guys got that worksheet. If not, guys, just put the worksheet back in here so people can use the worksheet, right? Just pop a link underneath there or something. If you're not on Empower Network, get in, because if you don't get in, you're not going to be able to be here on Thursday.
If you don't join, you're not going to be able to go, and you're going to be missing half the formula, and you're going to lose out. Look, I don't even care if you get in and you decide this isn't for you. Here's what you need to do. You need to just join and check it out. And before Thursday, here's the question I've got for all of you that are on here.
Are you really serious about building this? Are you really serious about making money on the Internet? Is this something you really want to do? Are you the kind of person that just flakes out all the time? Look, if you're going to flake out all the time, and that's kind of what you do, you're like, I love to flake out, I'm a weenie, it's okay, you can still join and get a refund, but don't stay in, because we don't really want you around, right?
The flaky people, it's like, you know, come on, you know? Just go somewhere else. Go somewhere where it's like iloveflakes.com, it's fine for you, right? And maybe it's Corn Flakes. I don't know.
But in any case, if you're the kind of person who is willing to follow through on your commitments, and you're willing to do what you say you're going to do. Right? That's really the kind of person that can get big results here, and can do these things. So I'm going to teach you part two on Thursday. In order to do it, you must join.
So there's a button that says, not in Empower Network yet, there's another button that says click here to get started for just seven bucks. Click that button if that's you, get in, right? And here's what I want you to do before Thursday, don't just get in, right? I want you to decide to get in, and then after you get in, go into your back office, the members area, it looks like this, okay? And I want you to complete the entire level up sequence by Thursday, okay?
I also want you to download this form, okay? I think it's click here for your surprise gift, right? Sorry, I thought I was screen sharing, I wasn't, it doesn't really matter. Just log in your back office, click on level up sequence, complete that entire thing before Thursday, okay? Now you've got to do what you say you're going to do.
So the question is, are you going to do it? If you're going to do it, I just want you to type yes, I'm going to do it, specifically, yes, I'm going to do it in the comments. Now when you come back on Thursday, okay? Come back on Thursday, I want you to download that gift, and I want you to, or download the form or whatever, download the worksheet, it's at the bottom, okay? And I want you to fill that out in completion and complete that entire worksheet by this Thursday, completing all the assignments, and that's okay.
You can come on if you haven't completed the assignments, because you're not coming on the hangout. But, you know, there's a difference between, you know, fulfilling a commitment because you told somebody else you'd do it, and fulfilling a commitment because you're the kind of person that follows through on your work. So the question is, are you going to do it or not? If you're not going to do it, it's fine, don't promise you're going to do it. But if you're going to do it, I want you to say yes, I'm going to do it.
Okay? If you're not going to do it in the comments, then I want you to join, get in, and actually follow through. Just make a decision to join. Look, pull out your credit card. I command you to pull out your credit card.
Why? Because I like to, you know, be like the Lord and command you to do things. So in any case, download the gift, pull out your credit card, just decide to get in, right? And welcome to the team. And on Thursday, I'm going to show you, after you complete those assignments, how to get your business started right, okay?
And actually get started on this path to do it. Now, do you guys see, actually, how simple this is to do? See? If you establish that kind of authority with your team members, you're a totally different kind of leader than somebody who doesn't.
You're just totally different. Your energy's totally different. Your authority is totally different. You're going to get people to stick around. You're going to get people to upgrade to at least the next product, right?
You're going to get people to actually go out there and take action. You're going to get people to actually go to the events. And you're actually going to build a long-term, sustainable business if you just do it. And it's really simple to do. If you bring in two people a day, that would take you 40 minutes.
No more. Right? No more. That's all it would take you to do. Right?
Oh, we actually brought Sifu out here. Welcome, man. How you doing? I still can't hear you. Hold on a second.
It's okay, man. I'll call you tomorrow. I'll call you and just walk you through this tomorrow. But just download the thing. And I'm going to see him at one of our events here.
And I'm going to bring him out to one of our next events. He did Kung Fu with me at my last event. I was all sweaty when I went on stage. But thanks for coming out. Great to see you.
We send each other Kung Fu videos all the time. And his are much better than mine. But that's it, guys. That's it. So I want you to know you're going to do it.
You're going to do it. Right? And, you know, you guys are awesome. You guys are awesome for coming on here. Right?
I got some funny comments here in the comments. Guys, thank you for coming out. If you got value out of this live stream today, let us know on Facebook. Right? And I'm looking forward to coming back and meeting with you guys.
Bye-bye. All right. Because you already said in the comments that you're going to do it. So if you're going to do it, congratulations.
I'll see you on Thursday. I'll see you on the beach of the world. And hopefully you guys just learned how to make a hell of a lot more money. Go ahead and end the hangout, guys. We're done.
