Closing and Signing People Up on the Phone: Stop Answering Every Objection
The phone rings. It’s a lead who opted into your list, watched your videos, and dialed your number themselves. This is the easiest sale you’ll ever get. So what do you do? You explain. You answer every question in full. You walk them through the comp plan, the products, the “autopilot” claim in your last email, one patient paragraph at a time. And somewhere in minute six, you can feel them slipping away, even though they called you.
That’s not a script problem. It’s a posture problem. You went from being the person they called for answers to being a vending machine for information, and prospects don’t buy from vending machines. They buy from people who seem like they already know exactly who they’re willing to work with. Get this right and you need far fewer calls to build steady income, because the calls you do take actually close, instead of eating an hour of your evening for nothing.
This lesson is built around one skill: closing an inbound call by controlling the conversation instead of narrating it. The person on the other end already wants what you have, or they wouldn’t have called. Your only job is to find out if they’re serious, and to stop treating every stalling question like it deserves a full, earnest answer.
Why does answering every question on the call kill your close rate?
Picture the default approach most people use, the one that feels polite and professional: prospect asks a question, you answer it fully. They ask another, you answer that one too. On and on, and you never steer the conversation anywhere, you just react to it. That’s the posture the training calls out directly:
As Dave Wood names the pattern directly in the Top Producer Formula: “So don’t be a pansy on the phone. Right? And by a pansy, I mean, well, let me help you with everything. You know, oh, you have a question about that? Well, let me answer that. Well, you have a question about it? Well, let me answer that too. Right? That’s what most people do.”
Being a pansy, in this context, means treating every question as a request for information rather than what it actually is most of the time: a test of whether you’re going to fold. Somebody challenges your authority, and if you scramble to reassure and over-explain, you’ve just told them, without saying a word, that you’re not confident in what you’re offering. People don’t buy from someone who isn’t confident in what they’re offering, even when that someone is technically right.
The fix isn’t rudeness. It’s redirecting. When a prospect throws out a stalling question, you don’t chase it down a rabbit hole. You ask a question back that puts the conversation back on their own stated goal. That single move, question answered with a question rooted in their own words, is most of what separates a closer from someone reading a script into a phone.
What’s really happening when someone stalls with “I need to talk to my spouse”?
Here’s the reframe that matters most in this lesson: most of what sounds like an objection isn’t one. A real objection is specific and financial. Somebody genuinely has no money on any card and can’t buy today. That’s real, and you handle it differently. But “I need to talk to my spouse,” “is this legit,” “can an average person really do this,” “how much money have you made” are, almost every time, not requests for information. They’re a prospect unconsciously checking whether you’ll blink.
Proof of this shows up in the room itself during the training. Ask a group of experienced marketers how many of them said “I need to talk to my spouse” before joining something, and then joined anyway, usually without ever having that conversation, and nearly every hand goes up. People say it because it’s the easiest sentence available to stall with, not because it reflects a real decision-making process. The training sums up the whole category plainly:
Objections aren’t real, ever, right? They’re never real. They’re never, they’re not even there, right? They’re just like some smoke screen somebody’s putting up because they need something to say to feel good or whatever, right? It’s very rare that an objection is real, and when it’s real, you can deal with it, but most of the time, if you challenge it head on, it just goes away, right?
- A real objection: no money available anywhere, on any card, right now.
- A manufactured objection: anything that sounds like a delay tactic dressed up as a reason.
Once you can tell those two apart in real time, you stop wasting five minutes gently reassuring someone about a decision they were never actually going to make with their spouse anyway. You challenge it instead, directly, and it usually just evaporates: does he actually control every financial decision you make, or are you just not sure this is going to work? That question does more in ten seconds than a full explanation of the comp plan does in ten minutes, because it’s not answering the stated objection, it’s addressing the real one underneath it.
How do you get authority on the call before the objection even shows up?
None of this works if you’re prospecting people who never asked to hear from you. The entire approach here is built on inbound calls: people who found your number in an email, watched your content, and picked up the phone on their own. That single fact changes everything about the leverage you’re working with, because they already came halfway.
The setup starts before the call. Put your number where people already engaged with your content can find it, and attach a filter to it: don’t call unless you’re serious about getting started. That line alone screens out the tire-kickers before they ever dial, so the person actually on the line is already leaning in.
From there, the opening move on the call is a single qualifying question, something close to: if I show you exactly what to do, are you going to follow that advice, or are you going to keep doing things your own way? You’re not asking to be difficult. You’re finding out, in the first thirty seconds, whether this is a conversation worth having at all. Answer yes, and you move straight to the next step: pull up the order form, walk them through it, done. No extended sales pitch required, because the pitch already happened in every piece of content they consumed before they picked up the phone. As Dave Wood puts it in the Top Producer Formula, explaining why he worked the phone hard early on despite a small list, “the phone was necessary to get the numbers”.
Why does the wording matter less than you think?
The most useful admission in this lesson is a personal one: after using the same closing scripts for a long time, the results stopped changing even when the actual words got scrambled on purpose. Different phrasing, same confident, challenging tone, same close rate. That’s the real mechanism here. It was never the specific sentence. It was the posture behind the sentence: unwilling to chase, unwilling to over-explain, willing to end the call if the person on the other end wasn’t serious.
That matters for you because it means you don’t need a memorized script to make this work. You need three things, consistently applied:
- Qualify commitment before you explain anything.
- Sort every pushback into “real objection” or “manufactured stall,” and treat manufactured stalls as challenges, not questions.
- Keep the same steady, unbothered energy regardless of what gets thrown at you, because the energy is what’s actually being evaluated.
None of this is about tricking anyone into a decision they don’t want to make. It’s about recognizing that somebody who called you already wants in, and your job is to stop getting in your own way by treating every stall like a legitimate question that needs a longer answer. Give the pushback less weight than it’s asking for, and most of it disappears on its own.
Where this goes next
What’s here is the framework. The full lesson runs through a long series of live role-plays covering nearly every stall a prospect throws at you on a real call, spouse objections from both directions, “how much have you made,” “can an average person do this,” “does the company have integrity,” and the exact follow-up questions used to answer each one without losing control of the conversation. So here's what I want to talk about. What I want to talk about right now is I want to spend some time first on closing, okay, and signing people up on the phone. Now there's a reason why I want to cover this. The reason I want to cover it is because, you know, I've not taught it in a long time and the reason isn't is because I don't need to do it anymore. But, you know, I actually had a conversation with you with Darren.
We were talking on the phone. He's like, David, you fucking were on the phone for two years when you first got on this thing. Stop fooling around. He was talking to me like that. He was actually mad about something, I think, right?
But he's here, right? I was like, you know, you're right. I did do that for like two years. I just didn't do it the way I generally make fun of it, you know, which I make fun of it because of prospecting, not because of the phone, because it's inefficient. But the phone is unbelievably useful if you've, especially if you're new.
How many of you guys know and you realize that if you're in a newer spot in your business, right, you kind of got to do whatever it takes and stop having an ego to make the money you want? Everybody's okay with that, right? And this stuff actually isn't that bad because I'm not talking about hammering people to death, okay? If I was talking about cold calling realtors, right, you know, honestly, you know, I would never do that in my life, you know? Todd Falcone is my best friend and I love him to death, but goodness gracious, I would never ever again in my life call a realtor out of the phone book, never, right?
Never. Why? Because I'm not going to sit there and prospect people that aren't interested to do anything. Why would I do that? Here's my philosophy in life now, if you're not interested in it, you'll never even know what I do.
Never. Because I'm not going to reach out to you and all sorts of people are curious about what I do and they got to kind of twist my arm to get it out of me, right? They're like, what do you do? I can't tell everybody like that because then it would stop working so well. What is it?
I just told you. You know, I can't tell you. What are you doing? What are you doing? Well, I'm making money on the internet, but don't worry about it.
Probably not for you. What on the internet? Like you, you know, what are you selling on the internet? You know, it's specific. I don't want everybody in the world doing it.
Gosh. Yeah. Well, is it something I could make money at? Well, I don't know if you could make money to be honest, because you might not work that hard. Maybe you're not serious.
So I don't know. I don't think I should talk to you. What is it? Right? And I've had people like, like my maid who, or my chef that lived in my house.
How many of you were at the San Diego event? Anybody meet that chef I had, right? She lived in my house and I would not tell her what I did for a living. And she begged me every day to tell her, right? She was like, tell me what you do.
And I said, I can't. She says, why? Because you're my chef. And if you were making all this money on the internet, you wouldn't be able to make money. You wouldn't be able to cook my food for so cheap.
And you know what happened eventually? She just went so bad. So, cause I was like, you can go to my website at any time and check out the video. But she wanted me to tell her, like a lot of you guys want me to tell you the strategy without watching the videos of the 15K formula. I'm like, go watch the damn video already.
I don't have all day to sit around and explain solo ads to every single person in Empower Network. You know what I'm saying? Go watch the video. Right? So I was like, go watch the video.
I don't care that you live in my house. She's like, I'm right here. Well, I don't need to, I don't need to sell to you. I'm just saying you don't have to join and you don't have to look at the video. And if you don't want to keep cooking my food, I like it, you know?
So she eventually just went nuts and went and watched the video on her own without me giving her a link and joined. And that happens to me all the time. You would not believe the people I've run into on airplanes, they go crazy and they go on the internet and they just look for my link and they join and they buy on their own after meeting me. I don't tell them what I do. They have to go to the website and they asked me why, why won't you tell me, is because I make too much money to sit here and pitch people on airplanes.
You know, I don't need you like you want to know what I do and you want to know how to make money. You can go and you could look it up on your own. I got a card and it's a picture of Google with my name in it. Not really, but I've always thought that'd be cool. So in any ways, that's how to do it.
So let's talk about inbound stuff. And there's a reason. I brought Paul up because he's doing it. So I want to talk about getting people to call you and getting people who connect out with you who say, hey, give me a call. Those of you who have lists, if you have your phone number in the email, some people will call you if you've got enough people on your list and they're not bad people to talk to, right?
And not very many people will call. Some people are paranoid. I got 800 people on my list. I'm going to get a lot of phone calls all day. You know, like one in 500 people will call and they're all ready to buy, right?
It's not a big deal. Right. And so he does that, right? You put your phone number in emails and stuff and let people reach out. Now your girlfriend, she pre-screens people, right?
Oh yeah. When she's, yeah. For the most part, she answers it all off the phone too. For the most part, she pre-screens people.
Okay. So, but let's talk about this. Anybody, does anybody actually work with prospects and talk to people in here? Anybody? Right.
A handful of people. Would anybody else do it if you knew how to do it consistently? Right. So in a year, 4,000 people, actually, no, not that many, on the phone, I recruited that many, but not on the phone.
I recruited three to four a day on the phone, but it was from three to four appointments. He asked me, you know, I've sponsored, I've sponsored total on the phone about 5,000 people. And he said, well, how many people do you talk to? Gosh. And I said, 5,000.
About accurate. Right. Cause I'm not prospecting, I'm talking to people who are ready to join. That make sense? Right.
So let's talk about this. So you put your phone number in emails and you make yourself available to phone and really it goes to, you know, you picked up originally about 75% of the time it goes to her. It goes to her. Yeah. But then you pick it up more, valuable, and you have a little message above.
You say, don't call me if you're not serious. Right. Don't call me if you're not ready to join. Yeah. You know, so he has it right there.
If they're calling him, they know that he does MMA and he specifically requested that they don't call unless they're ready to join. Right. Yep. Yeah. So you say, don't call unless you're ready to join.
So you get phone calls. Yes. How many people get in when you talk to them? About 90% of them. About 90% of them.
Right. And there's a lot of people like that. Like even Vic was like that. Vic wouldn't join until he talked to me. And it took him like a month and a half to get ahold of me.
I'm glad I actually finally talked to him. You know what I mean? But you'll find actually a lot of producers are like that. And so if you're willing to connect with people, you'll get producers. Once you get to know them, you'll get producers.
Right. Yeah. Yeah. And so if you're willing to connect with people, you'll get producers once you get to a certain space. Like you'll actually start having producers who seek you out wanting to join your team now.
Because that's the space he's in. Right? It happens. Right, Aaron? Once you get to a certain space, you start getting known, producers start physically seeking you out, searching for you, and they want to talk to you.
Right? And a lot of them won't join until they do. Right? And they're not bad people to talk to when they seek you out. They're like, hey, by the way, you know, I got 10,000 people on the team.
I want to give you a call, make sure this is legit, right? I get calls like that a lot, right? I don't actually respond to all of them, so they probably go join somebody else at something else, which is probably stupid, but I used to take them, right? And the point is, though, is when you've got a smaller list, this is what you need to do, right, to start making money most of the time. So somebody calls you, let's walk through this here really quick, and then I'm going to help, and then we're going to do some role-playing with this, because I want you guys to understand how to close.
Is that cool? You guys understand how to close? You guys want to know how to do that? Overcome objection stuff? All right, so I'm going to call you.
Ring, ring. Hello? Hello, this is David. I was actually just reading one of your emails, and I saw your phone number in here, and I've, you know, looked at your videos for the last few days. You know, I opted in from your right now website, and, you know, I just wanted to call and talk to you.
Well, how can I help you? Well, you know, I've been in my business for a long time, and I saw the ad on Facebook and I clicked on that because I'm not making any money and I saw your videos and I liked your videos, made sense to me, and you know, I'm just looking to make money. Okay, so I just want to let you know I got about five minutes before I get on a coaching call or a webinar, and if I show you exactly what to do to finally succeed online, will you follow my advice, or are you going to continue doing things your own way, or are you going to tell me what to do to actually make money? Are you going to listen? That's called you throw a right hook and he dodges it and throws it back, right? Yeah, I'll listen.
Cool. Well, the first thing that you need to do is get in the system right now. Are you in front of your computer? Yeah, I'm in front of my computer. All right, so go to the email that I sent you, see that link?
Yeah, I got it. Cool, click it. Uh-huh. What does it show up? Now it's like a page to put my information in, my credit card.
Cool. Fill out the safe and secure order and let me know once you're in. Can you do that? Yeah. Cool.
That's all you do. That's all I do. Welcome to the table. Now how many people would take calls if they were like that? Now they're not going to be like that from just spamming people or something.
I'm talking about what I talked about for the last two hours. The reason I hammered giving the value so much is because that is what gets people to respond to you, not pitching. People will respond to your pitches if you're giving them value. Does that make sense? If you're giving them value that solves their problems, then they love the pitches when they come.
Sometimes they get angry for a week but they still wait for the pitch to be done and then they start opening the emails again, right? And eventually they're gonna buy something. So in any case, so okay, I'm gonna give you like another random example of a couple of things, right. So this is good. Now the one thing that I would say on that would be it would be useful for a lot of people to find out what it is that they did want, right?
So you have that as a lever in case there's any problems, if you need to close more sales, which he doesn't, he's bringing in eight or nine people, and of course on the spot it's a little different too. Yeah, I'm putting him on the spot. Yeah, it's a lot easier at home. Hey, it's fine, it's fine, he's a little nervous and a scaredy cat. It's okay, he does MMA but he's a big teddy bear.
He's teasing me. He's like, Dave Wood, I'm telling you something. Right, so I'll give you an example, and pretend I'm somebody else that's got a few more questions, right? Ring. Hello, is this Paul?
This is, who's calling? Oh, crap, you actually picked up the phone. This is David. Yeah, how you doing? How can I help you?
Yeah, well, I was actually watching this webinar that you did and I've been reading your emails here for a few days. I clicked on this that you were placing, and you know, I was really interested because I was wandering around at Walmart too, and I was just so sick of prospecting cashiers and stuff. Anyways, I was looking at your thing and it makes sense to me what you're doing and I just had a few questions about it. Okay, shoot. Well, I have five minutes, I'm about to go to a meeting.
Okay, so if I answer your questions will you be prepared to join right now? I don't know, I think so. Okay, go for it. Okay, is this for real? I mean, I see you're talking there, you obviously picked up the phone which surprised me actually, I didn't think that you would, I thought you're some schemer, but I see these people on the webinar and you're talking about making money and sponsoring people, and I've been struggling for years and I just want to make sure that I can learn something that I can really make money.
Okay, well my question to you is, how coachable are you, from one to ten? I'm really a coachable man, I'll listen if I find somebody that I think is giving me good advice and they tell me to do something, I'm gonna do it. Okay, so from a level of one to ten though, a level one to ten, I'd say I'm probably, I'm a little bit arrogant from time to time, but not too bad, I'd probably say seven or eight, maybe eight. Yeah, well I can't work with you unless you're at 12. You see that?
You see that? See, he ain't fooling around, right? So you know how somebody would respond to that? Responded like me, right? It's like getting spanked, and if you don't pay attention now, I'm gonna spank you harder, right?
You know, some of you in here know what I'm talking about. So anyway. Well, you know, look, I'll listen. Cool. So if I show you exactly what to do, will you follow my advice, or are you just messing around?
No, I'll do it. You will? Okay, well the first thing that you need to do before we can move forward at all, you see there's a link that came in from, okay, click the link. Yeah, I got it. Okay, what does it show up?
It's a page, it says like a secure order form. Okay, so what you need to do is fill out the safe and secure order form, can you do that? Okay, go ahead and just get in and then we'll connect from there. Okay, cool. Welcome to the team, man.
Yeah, like a three minute phone call, right? Okay, let's give you, you know, do you need more examples? I mean this is the way that 99 percent of phone calls go. Now there's a couple things I want to point out with attitude with this kind of stuff, right, and language. And we're not talking about upselling, we're just talking about recruiting, right?
Some of you guys have stuff you can upsell too, which is a different story and I think actually just as easy or easier but can take a little bit more time. I'm going to talk about that a little bit too, right. But as far as just selling and just getting somebody in, it's like that for real if you're giving value, right? Because people won't call you who don't want to join, they won't, especially if you tell them don't call me unless you're seriously thinking about getting in, right. If you're thinking about getting in, you're serious, go and give me a call, and literally most of the time all they want to do is talk to you for a second if you're consistent.
Now my friend Ray does that and he puts his phone number on everything, right, and he's pretty excessive with the way he puts his phone number out there, but people literally don't call him unless they're ready to join. So for him that's worth it because that's how he builds his business, but he's not making a million prospecting calls, he's taking phone calls and closing everyone. Do you guys see how that's different, right? See what I learned was, through this process we go through an old school process, then we're going to go through some more stuff here with the closing and then get into live presentations with old school stuff, right. Why do the live presentations work?
The stronger the pre-frame, the higher the close in the live presentation, okay. The stronger the pre-frame, the higher the close on the phone, right. The stronger the pre-frame, the bigger upsells you get when you talk to somebody, right. And Raskin upsells people like crazy on the phone, how's he do it, pre-frame like crazy, right. Got an assistant call people, right?
I have my credit card on the table, I just wanted you to know before we started the conversation. It's like that, in it every day. See, it starts to be fun, like, I actually started wondering, does it matter what I say, will they still join? After a while I started challenging everything, I was using these scripts and this language and stuff like this that I learned from all these audios, and I just started challenging all of it, right, because people weren't joining because of what I said on the phone, they were joining because of what happened before they got on the phone. You guys see the difference, but the phone was necessary to get the numbers because I had a small list all the time.
I had a small list, right, up until the Empower Network. People are like, you launched this with a huge list. No I didn't, right? I just had to get the numbers. I sponsored about 4,000 people before I launched Empower Network from a list of like 25,000 or something like that.
Yeah, why? Because I just did what I needed to do to get people in, right? It's more of the training you want, right, Darren? Yeah, you like this? Yeah, he sponsors a lot too and you connect with people, don't you?
Right, and here's the reality with people is that people are going to respond to solving their problems all the time, right? When it's their problem and you're giving a solution, they respond a hundred percent of the time, okay. And how do you do that if you're connecting with somebody? Questions, right. Now he's got a lot of authority, you guys see that, he's got the authority, and I guarantee you if I didn't give him an answer he wanted, he'd hang up the phone, wouldn't you?
Yeah, absolutely. Ever hang up on people? Absolutely, yeah. Somebody calls you and let me give you some bullshit that you guys probably don't know about. Right, ring.
Hello, this is Paul Carter. This is, how can I help you? Yeah, I was just looking at your email and I saw your number in here and wanted to give you a call, I had some questions. Okay, how can I help you? Well, I really want to make money on the internet and I've really, I've seen a couple of your videos and I've seen some of your webinars and stuff and I'm thinking about joining.
Well, what's there to think about? Well, I don't know if it's for real, and I was wondering if you're telling the truth or if you're just some sort of schemer on the internet or something like that.
Oh, okay. Well, are you prepared to join right now? Or are you just here to waste time? Well, no, I just wanted to ask you some questions. Okay, so if I answer your questions, will you join today?
I'm not quite sure. Oh, well, then we can't have this conversation. Why not? I'm too busy. But whenever you are ready, you can call me back and we'll get started.
I just got some questions. No, it's okay. Thank you. Click. Right, now that might have been a little bit brutal, you know, but at the same time, you get some flimsy pansy on the phone.
You know what I mean? Like the truth is that you're not in business to be a telemarketer, right? That's how much a telemarketer costs. It's not that expensive to get somebody prospecting all day, right? That's why it's a $4 an hour job.
Really? Right? Who in here joined to be a telemarketer? Who in here inadvertently was, you were tricked into being a telemarketer after you joined, right? Once or twice in your life, right?
On the phone all day and night. And then you're like, I don't know if I want to hear this. Now, so you go there and you run into things. So he has authority, right? Right.
So when somebody pushes into his authority, what does he do? He restores it. Exactly. Right? When I ask him a question, he qualifies it.
And it could be any question. Right? I'll give you some examples. Throw some questions and stuff at me. I'll just give you some examples, some responses.
Like if I'm a prospect? Like if he's a prospect and we'll just do random questions and I'll show you guys what I'm talking about. When somebody challenges, right, your authority and your control of a conversation, it's your business. You don't have to work with them. It doesn't matter if they join or not.
They're going to join or not regardless of whether you're a pansy, except for they won't join if you're a pansy. That's the problem. Right? So don't be a pansy on the phone. Right?
And by a pansy, I mean, well, let me help you with everything. You know, oh, you have a question about that? Well, let me answer that. Well, you have a question about it? Well, let me answer that too.
Right? That's what most people do. Who in here has done that? I've done it before. Come on.
You don't have to like, you say, well, I don't want to raise my hand to say I was a pansy. Hey, I was a pansy once. Don't worry about it. Right?
So there's some random stuff. I've got to remember what it's like to be a wussy again. Give me a second. No, I mean, maybe you're on the phone and you're thinking about joining, but you throw something at me. Could be anything.
I've got to talk to my wife. I've got to think about it. You know, whatever. Well, will you actually help me out if I join at the $25 level? Well, sure.
What's your name again? Mike. Mike? Mike, can I ask you a question? Yeah, sure.
You want to make money, right? Well, yeah. Is that what you want to do for a living? I'm actually curious if you'd want to do that. I mean, I'm willing to do whatever it takes, but...
So you would... Just curious. No, no, it doesn't make sense at all. Yeah, I want either. So you've got two options.
Number one, I can hang up the phone. Number two, you can stop being a wussy. You don't want to put up with bullshit, right? And the reason is because, remember, you don't need people to join you, right? And they either want to or they don't.
And if you are a pansy, they won't join ever, right? Be the person who just pounds you with questions. You know what I'm talking about? I do. You get on the phone and they just ask you a question before you're answered and they ask you another question before they're finished.
They ask you another question. They just keep doing it. You know what I'm talking about? You guys ever get that? Who's ever dealt with a person like that?
And they've beaten you up, right? You let them kind of beat you up and then you just keep trying to answer and then they cut you off and never let you finish before the next question starts, right? And there's like never a right way to answer them and you're stressed out by it. Who here has been stressed out by bullshit like that, right? How many of you now actually just know it's bullshit, right?
That they actually aren't listening to your answers anyway? They're trying to exercise their alpha dog authority over you and show you who's boss. How many of you know that's actually what they're doing? Okay, all right. That's all they're doing.
Now he's used to that because they do that in the ring and you just ground and pound. They try to do it, yeah. I don't let them.
They say, okay, you can glare at me before the fight but just wait, right? Yeah, that's what it is. Anyway. So, well, show me exactly. Can you show me exactly how this system will actually give me autopilot sales.
Well, first let me show you what most people do actually because that will actually be more useful because then you guys will see a differentiator between what you're probably doing and the way that you should do this, right? Because this is funny. This is funny, actually, Aaron. Everybody responds. Everybody does this.
Okay, so pound me with questions. So the difference between what? So how exactly does the system give me autopilot sales? You know, I want to join but I just want to make sure that this actually works. Well, it's not really autopilot sales.
What you're doing is you're building a list and you're marketing, right? And you're making sales through your marketing. Does that make sense? Well, I mean, yeah, but just tell me about the autopilot, though. You said something about in the email where it's autopilot.
Yeah, it's autopilot. Well, yeah. Sales on autopilot when you set up a system and you've got autoresponders going. Yeah, no, I know. Dave, I've been in this thing for a little bit.
I understand what you're saying. I understand. I've been in marketing and I've been doing this for a long time. Okay. I'm trying to figure out exactly what do you mean by autopilot, though?
I mean, you've got emails going up. Yeah, I know, but what about, something about autopilot, I don't have to do anything. I could just push the, that's the only reason why I'm on the phone with you. Well, yeah, when you're building a list and then you've got advertising running and you've got a system set up to sell the products you're selling, sales can happen when you're doing nothing. Simple as that.
Yeah, but it still doesn't make any sense to me. So. This is what most of you do. You just drown on and on and on with people like this for $25 or $100 or $200. It's not worth $1,000.
It's so awful. You know what I mean? So just like, if you have that in your head, this is not worth any money at all to have this idiot conversation, it'll solve half the problem. Okay, let's do it again. Oh, another question?
No, just, we'll do the same one or a different set of questions. Just the pounding me with stupid questions and you just never stop and you keep cutting me off kind of thing. Hey, Kim, you know this actually better, this happened to you last week. Vividly.
Do you remember? What were some of the questions that dude asked and just totally dominated the conversation? Here, come on up. This is Lady.
Actually, I'll do an example with her. She's perfect, actually. I just want to teach you guys how to have authority with people when you're communicating, because you can just, Paul, do you actually still talk to people, Paul Hutchings? You did it for a long time. Your first 500 people or so, 1,000 people or so, you sponsored like that.
It was like your first, how many people you sponsored like that before you kind of expanded beyond it a little bit? So he sponsored 900 people before he started doing something else. What percent of your list were you getting before Empower when you were doing this? All right, do that. Remember that guy?
So you've sponsored 12% of your list in Empower, right? But what about the things before that? How big was your list before Empower? How big was it before? So he's still sponsoring 10% of his list, right?
But most of those people that he built as that original base, he talked to, right? Does it make sense to people? Right? Now, sometimes what happens is, especially as the guru status or whatever it is, where stuff's happening when you're not thinking about it, right? Because you're so famous or whatever, right?
Which does happen when you build and build and build. Actually, in the next two events, I'm going to talk about that, especially in the systems formula thing. We're going to talk about how you can become unbelievably well-known really fast. Well, what happens when you become really well-known like that is people just hunch you down with their credit card, right?
Like literally, they opt into your list with their credit card before they opt in, right? And sometimes when you get in a state like that, you get this inflated head and you can't really remember what got you there, right? Sometimes you need to do a little bit of everything. Does that make sense? Are you guys willing to do stuff that might be a little bit more difficult to get where you need to go?
You guys cool with that? All right, so we'll talk about that. So you got pounded with questions. So pound me with the same questions. Somebody was just being domineering.
Just do it. We'll just pretend I'm you or whatever. Hello. Stop.
Okay, here's the deal. You called me because you want what? You want to learn how to make money online. How much money do you want to learn how to make? Stop.
Here's the deal. I'm not going to listen to any more complaining. And I don't want any bullshit. And here's why. Because if you give it to me, I'm going to hang up the phone.
I know how to help you make money. And if you listen, I'm going to help you. And if you don't listen, that's okay. I'm just not going to talk to you. It's not because I don't love you.
It's not because I don't think you're cool. It's because I got better things to do. If I answer your one question, and it's only going to be one, are you going to stop? I'm going to stop with the dumb questions. Okay.
It's fair play. Stop. I'm done with the questions now, because the answer is no. Are you willing to listen and to work and to do what I tell you to do? Are you serious or are you just playing around?
I'm serious. Because you said, I think so. I think so doesn't mean yes. Are you going to take action or not?
Stop. I know you love to complain, just not with me. Last chance. Okay. Just sent you an email.
I want you to click that link and tell me when that comes up. Okay. You see that place where it says to put in your name? You want to write your name out exactly how you want it spelled on your checks. Okay?
Okay. So you're going to fill this form out, and here's the deal. The second you hit the submit button, you're going to go to another video series, and I want you to watch all of those videos. And we've got a team hangout Thursday night, and I want you to make sure you come to that hangout, and we're going to talk about what to do to really be a part of the inner circle here. Is that okay?
Welcome aboard. That's how you handle bullshit. Right? What's some other stuff you guys get?
Like who talked to people? Huh? Well, you don't get that if you're not a member of the team. You don't get that if you're doing marketing. You only get that if you're wandering around Walmart.
Okay. Good one. How much money have you made? Okay. Let's do a "how much money have you made."
You want to do it, or should we have her do it? Go ahead, Kim. Okay. So we're on the phone, and I basically, she's about ready to sign up or whatever. We've gotten through that, right?
And then she pelts me with the "how much money have you made" question. Go for it. Can I ask you a question? $2,000. Right?
And you said you were willing to invest $1,000 into your business to get started. Is that correct? Okay. You said you're willing to work in the evening time, and you've got three hours a night that you'll dedicate every day doing exactly what I tell you to do. Is that right?
Okay. One of the things I'm going to tell you to do from now on is don't ask me dumb personal questions that I'm not going to answer. Is that fair? Sure. All right.
Great. So you're in front of me. Are you in front of the form right now? Is that place for your first name? Go ahead and type that in.
All right. Now when you're finished with this form, go ahead and hit the submit button. Shoot me an email. Let me know when you're in. And then you're going to watch a video.
And I want you to pay attention to that second video, too. Because there's some other products, and I want to make sure you're at least educated on all the products that we've got to help you get the results you want in your business. Is that fair? All right. Great.
Welcome aboard. What else? We don't get that if you're doing marketing. See, here's why you're going to get, guys, here's why you're going to get "what are you selling." Because you're prospecting idiots.
Right? If you're calling your friends and family, you're going to get "what are you selling." Right? If you are wandering around prospecting and hitting people up in Safeway, you're going to get "what are you selling." Right?
The only time I ever get "what are you selling" is never. So I don't get it. And you won't get it if you're doing marketing. Right? You want to build a bigger list and communicate better with that list to solve problems.
Because people will only call you, I promise you, they will only communicate with you if they already know what you're doing. Right? Maybe they'll send you a hate mail if they don't know what you're doing. Right? But guess what you do with hate mail?
Delete. Right? Don't respond to that. Right? Some people, they get a hate mail and they say, well, I think this is a scam.
And they say, look, let me tell you all the reasons why it's not a scam. In 1976, Amway got in a lawsuit with the FTC. And then they proved that this isn't a pyramid scam. And here's all the government regulations on scam. And the person's like, God.
You moron. I've just thought it's stupid. You know? But you just delete. Get off your list.
What else? Yeah, yeah, that's a great one. Here, is this going to help me build my existing business? You just want to give people what they want. So this isn't true in all cases.
Right? But in your case it is. Right? If somebody's selling another kind of a business that doesn't help people build their existing business, then this might not be true. Right?
But it also might be true. Here, let me show you. So is this going to help me build my existing business? What business are you in? Just make something up.
You know? You're in Soap International. Okay. How long have you been in Soap International? How much money are you making over there?
So you're not making any money over there. How hard have you been working over there? Yeah. So you haven't really been working over there.
Can I ask you a question? When you come in here, are you going to be as lazy here as you are over there? You didn't answer my question. Are you going to be lazy here or are you going to work? You're going to work here.
Okay. So this is going to be different. Why is it going to be different? So you don't have any guidance over there? Why do you want to make money there?
Okay. I really like cheesecake, but I'm not selling it. Can I ask you a question? Are you going to keep asking me dumb questions? All right.
Because I actually think you're pretty smart, which is one of the reasons why you called me. And so I'm not making fun of you there. I just wanted to point out this is just really stupid. You're not making any money. You have no guidance, right?
And you want to make money, right? How much do you want to make? Everything. What do you mean by that? Out of those, what's the most important to you?
Seeing your kids, travel, paying the bills? What's the most? The family? Seeing your kids? How old are your kids?
Do you really want to make more money and see your kids more often? Okay. I just sent you a link. Go ahead and pull that up. You see that page?
What's it say on the top of the page? Okay. Go ahead and just put the name there that you want spelled on your checks. When you scroll down, I want you to go ahead and finish your order. And I want you to watch the rest of the videos.
And here's the deal, after you're finished with that, I want you to get on our team hangout Thursday night because we're going to show you how we work together as a team to help you build your future. Is that fair? Because I want to help you get more time with your kids. Give her a hand. Okay.
What else? Wow. Hey, Dave. Hey, you can tell I've done this a few times, right? Just a few.
Hey, Dave. I just had a breakthrough just watching that because, you know, notice his posture. And he's so confident in what he's doing. And it's because he believes that this product, whatever it is that he's selling, is the doorway to that future. He truly believes that.
And I'm sitting here watching it. I was just breaking through because you have no reservation when you believe what you have is the solution to the problem. And let me actually help you with something, too. And this isn't necessarily going to work better, but it's better energy, okay? And I want to point out a difference here.
And, by the way, he's doing great things. And he gave Paul a hand. It was good for you to do that, right? Here's the thing. Here's a difference.
And this is something that'll help you, not necessarily because you need to do it for sales, but because it's better energy. It'll keep people around longer, right? You notice when he's responding to things, it does tend to be a little bit about him. You guys notice that? Now, here's the thing.
That still works because people are afraid not to join. Right? A little bit. He's got that "I'll pound you in the face" energy, right? I'm almost nervous to answer anything in any other way other than, yes, Paul, I will join immediately.
You know what I mean? However, you're going to get better results with people if you find out what it is that they're here for, okay, and connect with that. You're right. Right? They're going to stick around longer.
They're going to buy more upsells. They're going to come to your team's stuff more, okay? And they'll still buy, and they'll buy more stuff. Yeah. You guys know they'll buy more stuff if you find out what it is that they want, right?
You know they buy more stuff, right? Because then buying the stuff isn't about me getting a commission. Buying that product is about you getting the commission. It's about you getting the result that you want. That make sense?
But if you don't know the result somebody wants, you can't aim that. Now, how many of you think it's just brutal when she said, I want more time with my kids, and I say, you really want more time with your kids? Just sent you a link. Oh, man. I mean, nobody in the world almost could say no to that.
You guys know that? What are some other things you guys get? Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's a good one. So, I love the vision. I love what you're doing, but is the company of integrity? Great, great, great answer. Here.
Why don't you, could you throw that one at me, or should we have her? Okay. We'll do it.
Okay. Thank you. It's a good question, and I kind of feel the same way. And before I do that, I just want to ask you something. Is that okay?
Is that right? And you're willing to do what it takes, and you're willing to listen, and you're willing to follow advice, right? And willing to trust me. So, you trust me. Okay.
Then here's the deal. I want you to trust me. Trust me in this. You'll find out about the company later. That fair?
Okay. Just sent you a link. I want you to go ahead and click that and pull that up and tell me what it says on the screen. Okay. Go ahead and fill that out.
And then after you hit the submit button down at the bottom and your order is placed, I just want to welcome you to the team because my goal is to help you get what you want. Okay. And we'll see you on the team hangout. Fair play? Done this a few times.
What else? What else do you guys get? Hmm? How many of you are surprised I'm good at this stuff?
But this is why, guys, this is actually one of the things, and you can't really replace this with anything, okay? You can do market research and stuff like that. But nothing really replaces that, like thousands of connections where you understand people's problems for your business. You can't replace it, okay? Because after a while of doing that, you understand every problem in this industry.
Right? And what people struggle with. Because you're not going to struggle with everything personally, probably, like me. Right? Probably not.
But you'll understand literally every problem after a while, because they're all the same. And there's some unique ones, but after a while, there's no more unique ones. Right? Kim Claver, is Kim Claver still here? You run into, oh, she's back.
Do you run into new problems now, or is it all the same old stuff? Same old stuff, ain't it? Little variations, yeah, new words. Yeah, can an average person do that? That's a great one, actually.
Can an average person do this? Let's play this. That's a great one. Right? Yeah, people say stuff like that. Well, there's not an answer.
There's more questions. So here, let's play this. Can an average person do this? Everybody think that's a great question? Right?
Can an average person, go ahead. Uh-huh. Can you do this? Can I ask you a question?
Now, just a minute ago, we were talking, and you were talking about this. Yes. Talking about your kids, and how you want to stay home more, and how you're working too much. And you're really, and you said that you were willing to do what it takes, right? And if I tell you what to do, you're going to dedicate that time, or are you just messing around, or are you just kind of fooling around with it?
So you're not messing around with, spend more time with your kids. You're serious about that. That's not what I call average. Just sent you a link. Can you pull that up?
What else we got? Okay, great question. Here, let's do that, because that's a good question. Well, and guys, this could be different companies, because we want to make this transplantable to anything. Okay?
So a lot of times, a company will have a low package, and they'll have a high package, or they'll have a series of packages people can buy, right? And people will ask all the time, can I get in at the very lowest level? Okay? If it's a fresh call each time, I got to start over, and that's fine, I can do that. Why don't we take some different people up here, and we'll do these questions from different people with different personalities.
Is that cool? Right. So, here, you guys, give these guys a hand. I'm going to have you come, Paul, hang on here, because I'm going to start the presentation stuff here in a minute. Here, let's do this.
I need a volunteer. Well, come up. All right, so we'll do a fresh call each time, and we're going to do this for probably 20, 30 minutes more, something like that. Because I think this is valuable, guys. The more you hear this, and it's not the words you say, it's the attitude behind what you say.
Does that make sense? Way different, okay? Because if you're focused on the words, it's like reading a script, and you're like, these are the words that make the difference. And I used to call these dumb leads and read these scripts that were actually really good scripts, and for some reason, these dumb leads didn't join, right? Even though I was really good.
Why weren't they joining? Because they weren't interested, right? No hypnosis and NLP and control tactics in the world will get an uninterested person to be interested. They're not interested, right? And when somebody's not interested, and we try to twist their arm and say, you know what?
Please, we look like idiots. It's why MLM looks stupid to most people who have like corporate jobs and stuff. It's not because it's stupid. It's because some dork prospected them. They weren't interested, and they kept pushing and pushing and pushing until the person finally had to shut their phone off or change their number to get rid of them, right?
You guys know that's the reason why? It's not because it's stupid. It's because what we were doing was stupid. Does that make sense? So a lot of this is a little bit different.
So all of these conversations to me are presupposing that she's on my list, and I'm communicating, building rapport. Because to me, I'm not going to talk to people about my business that I'm not building rapport with on my list. They might be on my Facebook, and I'm building rapport. Darren does that. It's really fascinating.
He posts things like, you know, law of attraction quote for the day, here's my thoughts about how you can succeed more in your life. And he has these thoughts, and he gets people interacting with it. He sees problems in the network marketing industry, and he posts what he thinks is important. So he's not going to talk to people about it. He posts what he thinks the problems are on his wall.
And he's got this big group of people. I don't mean to be giving away your secrets, but I just think it's fascinating. He's got these big groups of people that interact with him. They're asking questions and questions about it. And then he posts things like, PM me for a conversation.
And he's always posting things like, if you really want to get a lot of people in your business, connect with people. He says things like that, and I know why he says that, because when he says that, what he's saying is when you connect with me, I'll respond. So people connect with you because you say that, right? And then he responds and has a conversation and closes. But that's like a person who's asking him.
Does that make sense? So he's created value. So a person is responding, and then he asks them questions, and then he gets them in. That make sense? Okay, so I'm rambling.
Over to you. So, yep. Yeah, well, just you're calling me. Hello? Yeah, who's this?
Dave, this is Dave. Nice to meet you, Carol. What can I do for you? Uh-huh. You know, Carol, I need to ask you some questions here.
Is that okay? And here's the reason why. It's because I'm tied up and I'm busy. I just got a couple of minutes. But I want to make sure that this is a right fit, especially because of some things that I just heard when you gave me a call.
So that's cool. If I ask you some questions, you'll answer honestly. Real quick, Carol, you've been looking at my site, a site here, and you gave me a call. Obviously, you're looking to make money or do something like that. What exactly are you looking for?
I really got to change my life. Uh-huh. I just. What do you got to change? Uh-huh.
It's kind of a dead end. So you have no retirement. I have to. What do you do? What's your job?
You're an RN? How much money are you looking to make from this to replace that job that you have as an RN and to really start moving the direction that you want, Carol? 10,000. I haven't. You haven't.
What do you make right now? Yeah. So you've been out of work for three weeks. So you're really needing a change. Now, let me ask you a question.
How hard are you willing to work to make more money than you've ever made in your life? Because it sounds like you've never made that amount. Uh-huh. So how hard are you willing to work? You didn't answer the question.
Whatever it takes. So you're willing to do whatever it takes. Now, are you messing around with me? Or if I tell you what to do, are you going to question me all the time? Okay.
I need to ask you a couple of questions here. Number one. I know you're willing to do whatever it takes. Now, I don't take that lightly. Because if I tell you to do something now and you don't do it, I'm not going to talk to you again.
Because I'm going to think you're lying. Okay. And I like to be honest. I'm always going to tell you the truth. That's my promise.
I expect you to tell me the truth too. Is that okay? Can you tell me the truth? Okay. So let me ask you some other questions, Carol.
It's a little low. And what do you mean by that? It's different, isn't it? So I just wanted to clarify that. Now, that's an ongoing basis.
It's an ongoing basis to do marketing and to test things. I'm not going to ask you to spend that every month, obviously. But here's the thing, and here's the question I have for you. How much could you put to your business to getting started to be able to hit your goal right now, or in the next week, to get started in your business? How much could you do?
So you could do $1,000 right now, and then you could kind of on an ongoing basis put $1,000 into your business. Then why are you asking about the $25? People tend to get confused when they get put on the spot. Well, you are doing a prospect state, and that's fine. So why are you asking about the $25?
What's the deal with that? Are you not taking your business seriously enough to be able to invest in your education to actually create the results? Now, you can't change yourself, because now you've put yourself into this hole. Yeah, yeah. So now you're a prospect who has $1,000 to put in, right?
Which is most of the time when people say, can I just do the $25, that's the truth, right? Now I'm at the truth, right? That make sense? Somebody gives you bullshit, you get to the truth, right? You don't try to deal with the bullshit.
You get to the truth, and you deal with that. That make sense? Okay, so you got $1,000. So a second ago, you were trying to fiddle me around for $25, trying to get a business started for that. Now, look, I know we're all cheap and stuff like that, but do you take your business seriously?
Are you willing to do what it takes? Like you said. I am, yeah. So here's what I'm going to ask you to do. I'm going to ask you to stretch yourself, right?
And not be on your means, because you've told me your means, right? But in life, we need to stretch sometimes to be able to hit the goals that we want, right? And if I lied to you, and I said, oh, yeah, just spend no money, everything's free, right, I would send you off on your way, never being able to hit the result that you want.
And then am I really helping you? I'm not, all right. I'm not helping you with that, am I? Yeah.
So I want to help you. Do you want me to help you? Absolutely. So here's the deal that I want you to do. I actually have a package of products here, right?
And I want you to buy these products specifically because I want you to be able to get results, right? And the package of these products that I have, it's actually not even $1,000. It's only 997, and I want you to get started with those products. Does that make sense? Yeah, it does.
So it sounds like you're ready to get started. I just shot you a link. Can you click that link and pull it up? Got it. Okay.
Now, on that page, there's an order form. I want you to write the name as you would like it spelled on your checks. Is that fair? Yes. Now, tomorrow night, I'm having a team hangout.
I want you to get on that hangout, and here's the deal. If I tell you to do something, you said whatever it takes, okay? Now, I'm not messing around. Are you messing around? No.
Then you need to be on that tomorrow night, and I'm actually going to pull you out in front of people and do a coaching with you live in front of my team, okay? And that's okay because I'm going to be training you but also training everybody else at the same time and also showing you what to do. Is that fair? It's going to be 9 p.m. Eastern time, and I just shot you another link.
That cool? Give her a hand. See, now, what just happened? I turned a sign up into a $1,000 sale rather than playing around with some bull. Okay.
All right. That's bullshit for $25, right? What's up? Oh, ask a question. Yeah, what is it?
See, that's just something I just cut off. I just say, stop it. Yeah, so you've been online for, well, let's actually, come on up. Give him a hand.
I'll give you guys an example because I want to give you guys ammo, right, to be able to deal with bullshit, but also, here's the formula. Here's the formula. Objections aren't real, ever, right? They're never real. They're never even there, right?
They're just like some smoke screen somebody's putting up because they need something to say to feel good or whatever, right? It's very rare that an objection is real, and when it's real, you can deal with it, but most of the time, if you challenge it head on, it just goes away, right? You do some phone stuff, it's true, ain't it? Right, so okay, so I'm not going to do this whole thing. I'm just going to assume I know him because I want to just cut to this bullshit, right, because it's bullshit.
So in any case, but I already, like you call me up, I already know what you want, I've asked you, and then, you know, you're doing this instead of joining is where we're at in the conversation, so go ahead and give me this. Stop it. What's your name? Yeah, I'd forgotten from the beginning of the phone call. I actually do that a lot, Luke.
I forget people's names, because I've just been working with a lot of people, and the truth is I'm not looking to work with everyone, okay? Now, here's my question for you a minute ago. Is that right? Am I understanding correctly? So in other words, you don't know what you're doing when it comes to making money.
Am I understanding correctly? Okay, so here's my question for you. Are you going to listen to my advice and do what I tell you to do, or are you going to constantly be thinking there's some scheme behind it and questioning everything? Because the truth is, it's not that I don't love you. It's just that I'd rather be having sex with my lady or something than have conversations like this all day.
So are you going to bullshit me, or are you going to listen? You're going to listen. Part of that listening is going to be including stopping complaining about upsells. You want to know why? Let me ask you a question.
So that means you need upsells, right? So if you need upsells to make money, why are you going to complain about somebody else upselling? You're not, right? Not anymore. Because from now on, you're not allowed to complain.
Because now you have to do what I say. And if you don't, that's fine. I'm just not going to work with you. You cool? So I just sent you a link.
I want you to pull that up. Okay? You see it? Go ahead and fill out that form, and when you're done, you're going to hit submit button and be led to a bunch of upsells. Buy as many as you can.
Right? Now you guys might think I'm fooling around, but this is actually how all of my conversations go. Right? You've heard me on the phone. You've heard me doing this, right?
He's heard me do call after call after call. And I used to actually do a call and close somebody and say, I've got another appointment, and you want to stay on the phone and listen to me talk to this person. And then I'd close this person, and they'd be in, and I'd have them on the phone. While I was calling another person, I would close that person and then have two on the phone, you can do this with Skype. And then I would get on the phone with a third person, close that person on the phone, all into a $500 buy-in, and I would get up to six in a row.
And at the end, I'd introduce them all to each other, and the first guy was always like, what the fuck just happened? Right? Now I started challenging things because, after a while, it was like so weird how well this worked. It was like, I wonder if this is what I'm saying or what's causing this. So I just started trying, responding in random ways to people, and it literally didn't matter what I said to people, they still got in.
Right? Because it's the formula that matters. What matters is, people are used to asking a question and just having somebody kind of lay over for them. It's like, oh, give me more. And that's kind of how we feel in this niche most of the time.
It's like we're constantly defending ourselves from this angry swarm of idiots. Right? And so I just started trying different things. And when I started trying different things, I was amazed at how people responded to whatever it was that I said as long as I had the same attitude. Right?
I'll give you an example. Like Tracy Walker, right, when we launched Empower Network, right, Tracy, she, I had a conversation with her on Skype, right? And she goes, well, Dave, what is it? And I stopped and went dead silent for like five seconds to where it was a little awkward, which is part of it when somebody asks you something silly. Because she could have looked at the video.
I mean, come on, which, of course, the video at the time didn't really say much either. But, you know, I stopped for a second. I said, Tracy, yeah, you just get in. She's okay. Right?
People would occasionally still ask me like, is this a pyramid scheme? And I used to actually answer that question. Right? Like they're actually asking that. But really, because remember, people aren't joining the company, people are joining you.
You know what people are really doing when they're giving you objections? They're seeing if you're for real. Yeah. Yeah, it's not an objection. They're seeing if you're for real.
What are you going to do if you're not for real? You're going to balk at everything. Well, let me explain why it's not a pyramid. You know what I'm saying? Do you guys understand?
Right? It's like they're not doing that. What they're doing is they're challenging you unconsciously without even thinking about it, without even realizing what they're doing. And when you respond with authority, that stuff all just shuts down instantly. Right?
So I had somebody ask me, I can't remember what company this is. This isn't the coin thing, I think. Somebody said, is this a pyramid scam? Right? Right.
And I paused awkwardly. You've got to wait for the awkward pause. Because it's like they feel a little bit like, did I do something wrong? Because they just did something wrong. Because they asked you a dumb question.
Right? Yeah, I'm ready to join. Okay. Conversation after conversation after conversation. Right?
Somebody says, it's a good one, actually. This pops up a lot. I need to talk to my spouse one. Right? Right.
Yeah, watch this. Now, I want to demonstrate something for you. How many guys or gals said I need to talk to my spouse, right, before you got in your first deal or one deal that you've been in? How many of us said that? Just raise your hands.
Say, I got to talk to my spouse. Right? Look around. Okay? Now, here's what that shows.
That shows people who say that join anyway. Right? Usually without talking to their spouse. Right? Usually it's bullshit.
Right? How many of you have said that just because you wanted to bullshit some reason to not join something? Right? How many of you actually talk to your spouse for every little thing you buy? Come on.
You know what I mean? Wives, you talk to your husbands before you spend $100. You know what I mean? Husbands, you talk to your wives before you go buy a beer or something. Hey, honey, I need permission to buy a beer today.
You know? I'm a man. Right? How many people actually do that? It's minuscule.
It's like one in 10,000 people that ever even actually do that. It's bullshit. Right? So if you just treat it like it's bullshit, right, people just drop it. People just drop it.
Right? I'll give you a good example. I'll do the whole, "I talk to my spouse" thing. I need somebody who just is comfortable playing that role because you're kind of going to look weenie here for a second. But we're just playing.
So, you know, people know that. All right, here, come on up. Give him a hand.
I volunteered him for suicide. Right? I'll give you lots. I'll give you a few ways to respond. So he's about ready to join.
Right? I know what he wants already. I've got problems already. I don't want to go through that again. I'll give you guys a formula for question asking here in a second.
And then you can just follow the formula and you'll know what to ask people. Okay? So in any case, give me the wife objection. We've already, I already know what you want. I already know what you do, all that stuff.
So you're about ready to join, but then you give me this bullshit. What was your name again? Will. And you've been on my list for how long? Six months.
And you've been reading my emails and things? Can I ask you a question? Do you actually need to talk to your wife? Because you talk to your wife about the decisions that you make, literally about everything. I mean, you can't make a decision financially without talking to your wife.
Right? Or are you just nervous that it's not going to work? Got it. It's okay.
Here's the deal. Are you willing to work? Is that true? And you told me you're struggling and that you want to bring your wife home from work. Are you serious about that?
Are you sick and tired of her having to work? Are you going to have to ask her permission to get on conference calls and webinars too? Or are you just going to be a man and do what it takes? So you're going to be a man? All right.
That's what I'm asking you because men don't need to always ask permission for everything because that's not what constitutes a man. And you know that. Okay. I just shot you a link. I want you to pull that up.
Okay. Go ahead and write your name in the order form the way you want it spelled on your checks and welcome aboard. Brutal. Right?
But here's the reality. Right, Jordan? Oh, 10 times easier. Are you kidding me? Right?
Oh, give me a lady. Come on up. All right. Come on.
It's like for a man, they could really be eaten alive if they spend money and don't talk to their wife. I mean, you know. Right? So that could be a real thing sometimes, you know. So what's your name again?
I always forget. Leanna. Okay. So we've already talked and then you come there and then you're going to say I got to talk to my husband or whatever, or I got to talk to my spouse or whatever it is. Right?
No, your husband. Your wife. Oh, you have a wife? Oh, sorry.
No, that's fine. I just, I was confused for a second. Oh, so you got a wife. I'm actually a little bit more confused about this example, but this has happened to me before, right?
Right? So I get in weird situations all the time. But also, I'll want another example with a husband because that's actually an easier one to overcome because it's easy to rile up women against their husbands, right? All right. That's fine.
So you want to have a wife. All right. So you want to check with your wife first. Okay. That's fine.
Can I ask you a question? Yeah, just a minute ago we were talking. We were talking about your goals, your dreams, and your desires. And you also said you want to spend more time with your family. That's true, right?
And you're willing to work for that. You're willing to do what it takes for that, right? And you're willing to do whatever it takes. You said you have a few hours in the night to dedicate towards working towards that, right? Is your wife on board with what you do?
She's not, right? Is she going to support you if you have a vision and you actually are going out there and working and making it happen? Is she going to be behind you if you make a decision? She gives you a little hassle, right? I can understand that.
A lot of spouses are like that. But the reality is if you make a decision and you decide to go for something, she's going to support you, isn't she? Okay. Because here's my perspective for you, right? If you go to her and you ask her permission and you're unsure, she's going to support you.
If you're unsure about it, she's definitely probably not going to support it from the sounds of it, right? So here's the choice. You got to make a decision or not. This isn't her choice. This is your choice.
Isn't that true? So do you want to make a decision? Do you want to show her that you have the ability to succeed? Right? You want to provide for your family?
Okay. Welcome aboard. I just shot you a link and I want you to go ahead and click that and pull that up. You got it? Go ahead and write your name, Leanne, the way you want it spelled on your checks and welcome aboard.
Give her a hand. Right? See, I think that people think that people actually want to go talk to their spouse, but really what they want is validation they're making the right decision, because the reality is if their spouse is going to be negative, they're going to do it anyway, right? It's just whether or not they're going to be sold when they go and talk to their spouse because, look, even husbands, wives in here, you got a husband and he comes to you and says, I want to try something. Of course you're going to shoot him down.
Go spend the family money to try something out, you know? Why don't we go on a vacation and we can actually dip our toes in real water for a change? You know what I'm saying? So, okay, now I'm going to do a woman-man situation. All right, so we'll do this right here, right?
Now, that wasn't a bad one. That was actually, just surprised me because it caught me off guard, you know? So, this one is actually easier because women are so controlled financially, aren't they? How many women here like being controlled by finances?
You like it. See, there's one, okay? The rest of them, no. She's like, no, I don't like that, right? How many of you like it?
How many ladies in here have liked it if you've ever been like a mom staying at home and your husband's making all the money and you don't have anything to spend? And he writes you the checks and tells you how much there is to spend. Any women here been in that situation? Right? Even if you're not in that situation, somebody mentions it, it just makes you angry me talking about it, doesn't it?
Aren't you pissed off right now? Yeah, all women are. Watch this, all right, so go ahead and give me that. What was your name again? Kim, I always forget people's names actually when I'm on the phone, too.
Kim, it's nice to have this conversation. Can I ask you a question? Are you serious? Not if, not but, but are you serious? You're serious.
And when we were talking about that income, you were talking about your desire to make that much money, you said that you were willing to work three, four hours a night to dedicate toward that, in between taking care of the house, the work you do, and spending time with your family, you're willing to dedicate that time, right? Okay. So you're willing to do what it takes, right? Can I ask you a question? Is your husband generally supportive of you going out and spending money, investing in your future when you want to do it, or does he control the finances a little?
He's very supportive when you do it, right? So you guys have a good relationship with things like this, so if you make a decision, he's going to trust you, okay? Are you confident in the decisions that you make? Ah, interesting. So what it sounds like you're saying, and let me ask you this actually and be more specific.
I actually missed a window there, right? I'll talk about that in a second. Let me actually ask you a question here. It sounds like what the real problem is, is you're nervous that this isn't going to work. Ah, that makes sense to me, and I understand, because when I got started, I was nervous, too.
Can I ask you something? Are you willing to listen? Are you willing to work? Are you willing to get on conference calls? Are you willing to dedicate that time of the night?
Here's my next question, because this is the most important. Are you absolutely dead serious about dedicating the energy and the time that you need to make that income, or are you just pretending you're serious? And really, when I tell you to do something, you're just going to do what you want anyway. That's what I thought. Welcome aboard.
I just shot you a link. Can you click on that? Just pulled up an order form. I want you to fill that out. Okay, I actually have a package of products that you need to buy to get your business started, because I want to make sure that you're starting on the right track to build your business the right way.
Is that fair? Give her a hand. Right? So, let's use Paul as an example, right? And Paul, I want to coach you a little bit, because you're actually talking to people, and then we're going to get into live presentations, because we need to cover this, and I've been talking about this for a while.
I thought, are you guys getting value from this? Yeah! Is this helpful for you? Yeah! This can get you, right, if you're willing to connect with people, and there's a formula to it.
I'm going to talk about that in a second, but if you're willing to reach out with people through all mediums when you're newer, okay, social media, you're willing to reach out when you get leads. You get leads, you're willing to reach out on social media, connect. You're willing to talk to them. Right? You can get 15 to 20% of your list into literally anything, because they're not joining your company.
They're joining you, your vision, and the belief that if they join you, they're going to get what they want. That's what they're joining. See, people join home business not because of the products, not because of the owners of the company. Sometimes they do, right? They join it because the person or the team that got them into it created a belief in them that if they join them, right, they are going to be able to reach their outcome that they set when they decided to get in that business.
Does that make sense? Folks, obviously the income examples discussed are extraordinary. The income claims presented are not intended to serve as a guarantee of income. Instead, they're designed to give you an idea of what's possible. Success in this business requires leadership, hard work, and dedication.
