Server Crashes, Compliance Rules, and Honest Updates for Affiliates

Audio only · watch on YouTube

The server has been down for three days, and David Wood is telling 784 people watching a Saturday-night livestream, past midnight Eastern time, exactly why. “We actually did have the ability to turn on the server way earlier in the day, and we could have done it,” he says. They chose not to, because the thing that broke it once could break it again.

The database crashed because the growth was real

David explains what actually happened, in plain terms, because he is not a programmer and says so directly. Empower Network had too many people joining and blogging and creating blogs and placing orders all at once. At one point they were getting multiple orders a second while blogs were being created while people were blogging, and the database simply had too much information hitting it at once. It crashed.

The fix, he says, is a more robust database setup with simultaneous backups, so that if one database server goes down, a second one is already live and data is being transferred to the one that broke. But that alone wasn’t enough. Their programmer was also writing a script to tune how the blog database handles load, so the site can scale if it starts getting, in David’s words, “50 million visitors a day or something crazy like that.” That is why the site stayed dark even though it could have gone live: turning it on and then having 14,000 affiliates slam their list into it again risked the same crash. He tells people the site could be back within an hour or two, might not be up until the next day, but would definitely be up by then. He frames the real relaunch as the following Monday, giving the weekend to run tests and make sure the server is configured properly under load. His prediction for that reopening day: “I think actually day number one of opening back up, we could have a $100,000 or $200,000 day.”

He also addresses the customers caught in the gap. Somewhere between roughly 100 and 200 orders, he says, became untraceable after the crash. “We know there was an order. We know where the order went. We just can’t trace any of the data.” Anyone missing access to something they paid for, a blog, the Inner Circle, the Costa Rica event, should go straight to support.empowernetwork.com with username, product, and a copy of the receipt, and nothing more. A paragraph of conversation, he says, only slows the support team down. Access can be restored in about five seconds once purchase is confirmed.

Why the merchant account is moving, and what that means for affiliates

The second update concerns payments. Empower Network is moving everybody off First Data merchant accounts before the end of the month. David is blunt about the original relationship: “When we first got into the merchant account relationship, we didn’t have the right relationships and the right understandings with the people that we were working with.” First Data wanted the business, but Wells Fargo didn’t like the model, and the two came together and pulled the plug. He notes they weren’t treating customers especially well either, so losing them wasn’t a pure loss.

He gives a number to explain the scale of the problem: the company has been bringing in 300 to 500 new merchants a day when open, which he calls a lot for any company to handle. He describes having conference calls with roughly 30 potential merchant partners over the previous week, with eight more scheduled for Monday, and says he expects three or four genuinely strong proposals by then. Existing accounts, anyone with an Authorize.net gateway or a Linkpoint account through First Data, can keep processing cards during the grace period, and current contracts will be cancelled without fees once everyone is moved to the new provider.

Rewriting the sales message so the numbers can be shown honestly

David and Dave were together in Costa Rica specifically to rework the sales material, and the reasoning ties directly back to compliance. He states plainly that the message needs to be clear that Empower Network makes money from selling products, not from recruiting affiliates, because laws govern how that distinction has to be framed. He credits Randy Gage with the principle: you don’t say “get her in,” you say “when you recruit Susan and she places her first order.”

On income claims specifically, he lays out the rule affiliates are expected to follow:

The regulations with it that are important for legalities, for leadership, for you, for our teams, just understand, is that if there’s a reference made to the income that you’ve made here, the number one, it’s honest. And number two, that there’s always a clear, obvious link to our income disclosure.

He points out the disclosure page is itself affiliate-coded, so linking to it isn’t a cost, it’s an asset, and says they plan to make it more attractive, possibly with a video explaining the comp plan. His argument is that most companies try to hide or mislead people about how much money members actually make, and that Empower Network doesn’t need to do that because the numbers hold up.

He also puts a dollar figure on what the company is spending to keep the infrastructure solid: about $40,000 in the past month on programming and servers alone, not counting lawyers and customer service. His point to affiliates is that this is why they can’t out-earn him and Dave at the same production level, since affiliates aren’t the ones covering that $40,000, they’re paying $125 for the continuity programs while the company absorbs the rest.

Looking ahead, he mentions plans for an Empower Network-specific event, deliberately built as a no-pitch event where any promotion would only be the kind that pays affiliates for bringing people in, since attendees are coded to whoever referred them. He floats late January or early February for that gathering, with a separate higher-ticket event, the one tied to the Costa Rica offer, pushed to March or April instead.

I think it would be better if we both had Superman shirts. But no, folks, that's absolutely right. It's been interesting the last few days, and here's why. And this is just what I've been thinking about in this whole process, is we've got this massive community that we built in a month. We didn't build it, you built it. We started building the framework that then you guys took, and then you guys built a community of 10,000 people in a month.

I've never seen anybody do that before ever. I didn't see that happen in big network marketing companies. No names mentioned, but I just never seen anything like this. David's licking my alarm. I'm just reading these Skype. We really should just close these Skype chats, Dave.

We're going to get distracted here. Well, hold on. Let's just keep it running. Just keep distracting us with things people are saying here. So guys, the reality is that we could have never predicted the growth that we've had, the weird issues that we've had. We're not lawyers, and so the compliance stuff is new to us.

And I just want to wear a Bantman shirt and jump in my damn pool while these compliance guys are licking our site. So it's been fascinating, just a journey of discovery and working with all you guys and helping you guys make boatloads of money. And I think this is kind of a different thing, because we've got a unique element here. Everybody in life, no matter what they do, business or personal faces challenges. And what I think people get sick and tired of, honestly, is that the people who face challenges always kind of smile and go, everything's OK. You get kind of sick of that, because you look somebody in their eyes, and you're like, no, it's not OK.

And when you're ready to tell me that it's not OK, then I'll be here for you. And I think that the element that we're bringing is that we're human beings, and that let's go on a journey of discovery together. We're all in this together. The beautiful thing is that we're who else? It's almost 1 o'clock Eastern time, almost 12 o'clock of your time. What other company owners do a live stream at 1 o'clock?

And that's not a toot of my own horn, and that's not a toot of your horn. It's standing up and kind of applausing transparency. And it's kind of something that I'm glad to be a part of, because it's always something that I've wanted to be a part of. And those of you who obviously know my story know that I fought a long time to, I was fighting all of the wrong battles. And I didn't want to actually let anybody know who I was, that I was just a regular, normal guy. I put my pants on the same way that you do.

And I just had this weird thing going on in my mind. And the beautiful thing is that I think that what I've heard and found out anyways is it's like, Dave, don't worry that you're going through challenges. It's like, just keep us posted, keep us updated, allow us to help you and hold you up and walk through the challenges with you. Because the problem that people have is if they, and I know this simply because I've been in situations that were challenging before, obviously, in personal situations and in business situations. Gosh, when I first saw you doing some of the stuff that you did, I remember the story that you always told about just the guy in a suit in a corner office calling you and saying, giving you a message that you weren't happy about. And I've been in situations like that before.

And nobody was talking to me. Nobody was telling me what was going on. So our goal, and obviously why, I just actually got in tonight. I flew down, left. He's actually just getting some coffee and we just ordered some room service. But I flew down from where I live down here to Costa Rica.

And I just got in literally probably an hour, hour and a half ago. And Dave was like, you want to do a live stream? And it's like, yeah, let's do a live stream. Let's connect. Let's make contact. Let's update people.

Let's let them know what's going on. And here we are. So obviously, we're going to have some updates for you guys tonight. The goal is obviously to, in the next week, is to make lots of things happen. We've got big plans. We've got things going on with different people, different groups of people.

Obviously, we've got some announcements about the server and things of that nature. We were absolutely 100% expecting the server to be back up today. And I'm for it. You still might be tonight. Still might be tonight. No, I'm good right now.

I'm good right now. I'll take that iced tea, though. OK, cool, cool, cool. And it still might be tonight. Well, it's past here in Eastern time. It's past midnight.

So obviously, we're now in today. So anyways, there's been a lot of data. And obviously, I'm not a programmer. So I don't want to start talking like a programmer. Well, I can talk about it. He can.

He can. But obviously, here's the bottom line, is we've got some updates and things going on. And we just wanted to connect with you. And I don't know, again, how many people. I always like to see how many people are on the call. But I'm sure we've got quite a bit.

And I say all that honestly, just because I'm ADD. It's great to be here. Great to have you guys on with us, too. Yeah, I mean, that's the thing that I think. I'm actually wondering just how many people are on this thing. It's going to cause a sound echo, though.

So hold on. Let me turn off my sound on my computer just while I'm turning that on. It's always fascinating, especially late on a Saturday night, to see how many people are going to come out and hang out and say hello. We've got 784 people, dude, late on a Saturday night. Look at that guy. Yeah, I appreciate you guys.

That's why we're the Empower Network, because people do whatever it takes. They do, man. They do whatever it takes. I'm telling you. You know, folks, I'm just excited out of my mind. What we've got is working at something special, something that's growing extremely fast.

We're still getting more traffic than Oprah.com, even when our server's been down for three days in a row. Somehow, I don't even know how that happened. But we get more traffic than Amway.com, even. I was just looking at that a minute ago by like eight times, and it just is unbelievable what you guys have created. So just a couple things, and I wanted to update you guys. We actually did have the ability to turn on the server way earlier in the day, and we could have done it.

But what we want to avoid now is we want to avoid this happening again. And essentially, what just happened, so you guys understand the actual problem, is it's not something I could fix. It's not something Dave could fix. It's just in a world of people like, I want to sell stuff, it's in a world of like a cross between like Einstein and all these programmers and freaking people. It's just unbelievable complex nonsense. But essentially, what happened is, and I mentioned this in the last live stream, is we actually had too many people joining and blogging and blogs being created and orders going through all at once.

And we had a moment where we were getting multiple orders a second, and blogs were being created while people were blogging, and it was just too much information in the database, and so it crashed the database. And so we built out a more robust database solution now that actually has what's called simultaneous backups. And so what will happen now, if something like this ever happens again, essentially, if one database server goes down, the one the site's running off, the other one is instantaneously live, well, the data is being transferred to the one that broke down, so it can't happen again. But that also wasn't enough, and so right now what's being done is, and the reason why we didn't turn the site back on earlier today is we said, well, let's fine tune the database to make sure that it's not growing just out of control, that the database is monitored closer, no matter how many people are coming in. And so our programmer is writing a script to tweak out the way the blog database is working to make sure that we can scale, that we can handle a lot of growth, and that if we need to keep adding servers and adding servers and adding servers, and if we start getting 50 million visitors a day or something crazy like that, we can actually scale to that over a period of time. So that's why we didn't turn the site on today, even though we could have.

We figured that rather than saying, hey, woohoo, it's live, and then having 14,000 affiliates start slamming their list again, that we better make sure that when we do, we can handle the growth. And so the site, it could be back up live still in an hour or two. It might not be up till tomorrow, but it'll definitely be up by tomorrow, because that's in the final stages. I just wanted everybody to know. And also, just be aware, I sent an email about this, but I want you guys to help us focus customer service. I mentioned this in the last live stream.

I want you guys to help us focus customer service here for the next couple of days. Now, we've given them really a specific assignment on what tickets to answer and what tickets to kind of skip over in the beginning. Because when we turn the Empower Network back on, everybody's going to want to tell customer service about every thought that they've had in the last few days. Well, folks, if you can help us as leaders to just focus their energy, there's a couple of really important issues that we want to make sure are taken care of over the next few days. Number one, there's going to be some people out there. Not a lot, but there's going to be maybe even 100 or 150 or 200 orders somewhere in that ballpark.

I can't remember the exact number. A programmer gave it to me earlier today of orders that were untraceable after the database crash. We know there was an order. We know where the order went. We just can't trace any of the data. And it's limited, and it's less than 200.

So there's going to be some people when we turn the site back on. And this is all stuff that happened after Monday when we had our $106,000 data. It's all stuff that proceeded after that time. We want to make sure that those people who paid for a product get access to their product. So if you know of a team member that does not have access to their blog, somebody that doesn't have the Inner Circle that paid for it, somebody that doesn't have the Costa Rica that paid for it, when we turn the site back on, we want you to get your person to just go directly to the support desk. We know that it's going to be an issue for people already for a limited amount, out of 10,000, for what we just had happen.

I'm actually amazed that we saved that much data. It was actually a pretty bad disaster. We want them to go directly to support.empowernetwork.com, put in a ticket. This is all the information we need. Your username, the product you're missing, or products you're missing, and copies of your receipt in the ticket. That's it.

If you put a paragraph of conversation in there, it's just going to distract or support people. We can activate the products in about five seconds if we know who you are, and we've got proof of the purchase. Just to be aware and cognizant of that, and also folks, when the site goes live tomorrow, we're going to start all sending emails and stuff like that. But let's look forward to this next Monday. It's just kind of like a reopening of the site being live, because that will give us through Sunday, just to make sure everything's operating the way that it should once it's live. We're going through a million tests right now to make sure the server's configured properly and can handle the traffic load.

But let's all get together. Let's band together. Monday, let's slam. I think actually day number one of opening back up, we could have a $100,000 or $200,000 day. Third thing that I wanted to talk about is the merchant account situation. We mentioned this obviously in the previous use stream.

Some people who are here tonight probably missed the previous use stream. If you did, I would encourage you actually to go back and watch it. It was very good. Had a lot of detailed information out there about what's going on. We're moving everybody away from first day to merchant accounts before the end of the month. Dave and I have been, let's just be honest about this.

When we first got into the merchant account relationship, we didn't have the right relationships and the right understandings with the people that we were working with. Clay, everybody here knows who Clay is, because they've all tried to call him or whatever, slammed the poor guy to death with telephone calls. He actually did do a pretty good job trying to make it work with First Data. The actual situation that happened was First Data really wanted the business. Wells Fargo didn't like our model, just so you guys know. And so they came together.

They got together in a meeting. They weren't treating, honestly they weren't really treating our customers that good anyway, so it's a better move. So what we've been working actually, we've been working on this before the merchant account situation even happened. Dave and I had been reaching out to various different places just looking for better solutions, backups, people that can scale to our growth, because the issue, and I just want to be honest with you guys about this, is right now we're bringing in about 300 to 500 new merchants per day when we're open, is what we've been doing, 300 to 500 daily. That is a lot for any company to be able to handle. So it's really important that when we're taking our business somewhere that we realize, number one, how valuable it is.

We realize, number two, that there's some things that we're going to need to do to be able to build a relationship with the merchant account, to make sure that all the t's are crossed and the i's are dot and all that stuff. But also we want to make sure that somebody is going to be able to be there to serve your needs and that if you do need to get ahold of them or pick up the phone or contact them by email, that there's communication outlets and that they've got good customer service. And so we've been working with a couple different companies, working on putting various deals together. There's actually about 30 that I've had conference calls with in the last week. And I actually have a lot of promising ones that I've been working with. Dave and I have been on the call with some promising ones.

And we've got eight conference calls on Monday with various people around the world. But we're actually looking to build a solid relationship. Because I actually believe, folks, here's what I believe is going to happen. I've mentioned this multiple times. I'm just watching the rate of progression and growth. Empower Network is actually growing geometrically.

We always draw out. I remember first time, folks, that I was in Amway. And this is Amway, by the way, folks. I just like saying Amway because it's got this ring to it, you know what I mean? It's like Amway. Amway means the American way, by the way.

The American way, Amway, that's where that comes from. So in any case, folks, I'm in Amway. I'm sure we may even have some Amway. Dude, I love Amway. We've got some Amway people on the crowd. I actually still buy Amway vitamins today.

Yeah, I know you do. I got them in my house. My maid sells vitamins to me from Amway. That shows it still works. So in any case, this is how I get in Amway. So I just got off a mission trip.

And then I'd been exposed to it younger as a kid, if any of you've heard that story. But I go try to find a job. And I was like, oh, god, this is just horrible. I can't do this. And then my brother said, well, I'm having this meeting on Thursday night. So I go over to my brother's house.

And I knew it was Amway when I went there. And I already wanted to join. But I especially wanted to join after an hour and a half of him talking about nothing. So one of the things I do remember about the hour and a half of nothing is he was drawn out on the whiteboard. You just get five people. And they just get five people.

And they just get five people. And there's eight million people ordering all their products from Amway. And you're rich. And I was like, oh, my gosh, this is the coolest thing ever. And so I went out dressed in a suit and a tie, wandering around in Walmart, just trying to get my five. Because I thought, I just get my five, and they'll just get their five, and they'll just get their five.

And I'm going to be rich tomorrow. Well, it didn't really work out like that. Because the way I was doing it didn't grow and progress geometrically like we draw out on the board. And Power Network actually is. So this is actually the first time I've seen something that is actually growing naturally, virally. People are getting in their friends and family, even though that's not what we're teaching.

They're saying, grandma, you've got to get in this great internet business where you don't have to talk to your family and friends. And she's like, I'm in. So it's been really interesting. I'm so proud of you guys. I'm excited for you guys. And I just want to let you know that we're working on a good solution.

And I actually, I was talking to Dave about this a bit, I actually foresee that what I believe we're going to happen, we've got a bunch of people who are actually putting together proposals for us right now. And I actually think that we're going to have three to four really, really, really good ones actually on Monday. I was going to talk to you about that a little bit ago, just from all the people I've been talking to, that are good sustainable solutions to where we don't have to move 100,000 people next time. And that's what we want to make sure of. So just know we've got our best intention. Those of you who have an authorized .NET gateway, any merchant running through that gateway, you can still actually go back there and charge cards.

Everybody who has a Linkpoint account through First Data, until our grace period's over, you're still OK to obviously charge cards. And then we're just going to move everybody. Everybody's going to be canceled out of those contracts without any fees and moved over to the new merchant company here in the next few weeks. So just, again, wanted to make you guys aware of that. I'm proud of you. I'm excited.

I think on Monday we're going to sell 1,000 blogging systems. So a couple things. Dave and I, the reason why he came down here is that we're going to go through and do a little bit of rewiring on some of our sales material to make sure that, number one, I think that we can actually dramatically increase conversions right now because we've got so much proof now. We've just got this incredible, huge amount of people that have had success. We've got post-ranking all over the search engines. We've got traffic proof from Alexa.com that we can use.

We've got people who are recruiting into their primary network marketing businesses ranking for all kinds of strategic keywords, marketing all kinds of affiliate products with the blog. So we can really now be in a position to show the value in what we're doing from both a product perspective, but also from now especially from a business perspective, but in a way that is just proof and specific to the Empower Network. That's actually why he came down is we want to do that. We need to do it for two reasons. Number one reason is just to make sure that the messages that we're going to have are not going to run into the kind of scrutiny that Wells Fargo put us through behind our backs. That will be less likely to happen again because of the fact that we're building a relationship this time before we remove and understand the merchant account situation a little bit more.

But we want to do that for a few reasons. Number one, I think more people will buy. Number two, we've got better proof now. We've got a faster growing model now. Number three, our server will actually be working then. But number four, we want to make sure you guys' interests are protected long term.

One of the criticisms that we've had at Empower Network, and honestly it's stupid. I'm just going to be real with you guys and just be straight up. It's bullshit. Just it's bullshit, period. But I also understand sometimes where people are coming from, even when I think they're full of it, is one of the criticisms that we've had here is they say, oh, those guys are just about making money. When the reality is that the actual marketing training that we've got and the actual system that we've got, it just works better than what anybody else is doing.

There's nothing like it on the internet. There's no faster way for somebody to create cash flow than what we're teaching. There's nothing that duplicates like it on the internet. There's nothing as simple as it, as long as it's working properly and the visual editor ain't broken. But that'll be fixed, actually, next week. We really got people who are just good now working on that stuff and doing it right.

And nothing has grown like this. Just nothing grows like this. I was actually on the phone with one of the guys that formed the reverse funnel system, actually. And if you guys aren't familiar with, yeah, we're about to kill Time Magazine, apparently. Somebody just pointed that out. Their Alexa score dropped again, even though our server's been down.

So folks, by the way, I know I'm ADD a little bit, guys. I wonder if anybody actually knows how much traffic we've been getting, so I'm just going to tell you. Folks, after a week, now I want you to think about this for a second. I've had my blog for two and a half years, almost. I've been blogging. And I get about 1.2 million page views a month on my personal blog, which is a lot.

It's abnormally a lot. But here's the cool thing. In this, in a week, because it's not just Dave, it's not just myself, it's not just you guys, it's 10,000 people, not just 700 or 800 late on Saturday night who are weekend warriors and committed to what they're doing, you guys are the best. Seriously, you are. Folks, it's an army of people creating the traffic. So in a week, we were actually getting 1.6 million page views a day, daily.

So in other words, more traffic than my personal thing gets in a month, daily. That was in a week. We actually haven't even checked that since we had that original server move. And our traffic has doubled twice since then. So we're actually getting millions of page views a day, millions of them. That's the kind of traffic that we're producing right now.

So the concept of what we're doing is working. It will continue to work. So what we need to make sure of, and this is why we've just kept the server down. Because I don't want to have people out there who are getting signed up with the wrong sponsor because there's server database fluctuations, because there's too much traffic to the site. We want to make sure that it's done properly, to make sure that you get credit for your affiliate sales, to make sure that the cookies are working properly, to make sure that the power lines are working properly, to make sure that the blogs are being generated properly, and that the database is safe and secure and replicated so that if something does go down, it's just back up immediately, which is what we have available to us now. So that's what we want to do.

We might make sure it's right. Because with the income criticism where they say, these guys are just about getting money, which is true, we all want to make a lot of money. That's why we're here, just be honest and not bullshit. But in doing that, we're also providing a lot of value to people. So we can show them the value now. We've got the proof of it now.

To where we can say, look at what this is actually doing for people and how much money they're making. Does that make sense to you? Because they're making the money because of the value. That's why they're making the money. And that's the value in what we're doing, is that what we're doing can be done by the average person. So we're going to really look at that, go through the same process we went through last time, look through our whole sales process, look through our whole sales message, be back and forth in communication with banks and underwriters and say, hey, do you have any suggestions of something that will just make you a little more happy with this?

Just to make sure that everybody's interest is protected, because I would love it if LTAM was still making not just $50,000 a month six months from now, but $100,000. And then he wasn't just making $100,000 six months from now if he's making a quarter of a million a month two years from now. I'd love that. Why? Because we're not here to be a flash in the pan. So we just want to let you know, we're working for you.

We're not working on the technology. We've got good people doing it. Because I would just break it in two seconds. I'd be like, oh, let's just move this file around, the site would disappear. I don't even want to touch it. I don't want to program nothing.

So we've got good people. I think we spent $40,000 this last month on programming and servers and stuff like this. Not to mention the lawyers and the other customer service and stuff like this. Here's what we want to bring to you guys. And this is what's unique about Dave and I, is I actually want you guys to be able to make more money than us. And you can't.

Here's why. Folks, you didn't have to spend $40,000 last month on programming. Because we did. You just spend, what, $125 if you're in both the continuity programs? So we'll spend the $40,000 so you don't have to. So if you actually produce as much as Dave and I, you'd actually make more money just at our level because you don't have the $40,000 to spend.

You just got the $125,000. Right? That's it. So we're really doing something. Now a couple things just coming up in the future plans. And Dave, before I go into that, do you have anything else to add?

Because I've just been kind of talking. You go grab your sandwich if you want. I just start talking. No, no, no. No time to eat a sandwich. Yeah, I know I should have ate.

I put it in the heat thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're good. Yeah, I had like a steak sandwich. Sounded good. Actually, the guy kept trying to upsell me on the phone.

He was like, would you like iced tea? Well, I was like, yeah, I want the iced tea. I got the iced tea. He's like, you want the natural juice? I'm like, yeah, I want the natural juice. So I think that one of the most interesting things that you said is I did come down here and I am, the fascinating thing about where we're at and what we're willing to do here is that whatever it takes, we just do it.

We decided that we're able to spend $40 or $50, actually, looking at the books and everything. I think it's more than $40. And we're able to do that and still be financially secure as a company, to be able to take care of all of our finances, to bring in more teams of people, more support help, different groups of counsel, and all these different things to handle the things that we don't do. Dave's talking about bringing in programmers. Well, we don't just have any programmer. We have the best programmers that we could find in the world.

And I don't know if we've ever told you guys this, but there's interesting lessons that you learn as business owners and going through new experiences that one of the hardest things to find a lot is good people. One of the most difficult things, because guys, there's a difference between being a marketer, and this is really the principles and the ethics that we're trying to instill in this community that's so much different than anything that I've ever been involved in, is there's a difference between being a marketer and a business owner. And a lot of you are great marketers. And I was a great marketer. And I've learned lessons about being a great business owner as well. And so Dave and I are in a process right now to where we're able to outsource those things.

We're able to have the best programmers in the world working on our site. And that's essentially why, after having a crash of our servers because of just an absolute overload of traffic and not being able to expand the resources fast enough, we said, well, that ain't going to happen again. And we said it from an executive level that not only is it not going to happen again, don't let it happen again, and we're willing to invest whatever we need to invest to not let it happen again. So that's been an interesting journey, making sure that finding people in realizing that everybody is not wonderful programmers, who say they are. Everybody's not great marketers who say they are. And in the beginning stages, not so much anymore, but at the beginning stages before we launched, shoot, we went through some people.

Because we wanted to make sure that we had the absolute best people in the world working with us in Empower. Now we do. So that was a good point. The other thing is obviously reworking the sales material. It is going to now be able to showcase the proof of what we have. And I don't mean to be redundant here, but I just want to bury this home a little bit, because it's very important to understand that what we have is unlike anything that anybody's had previous before Empower network.

A lot of times, a lot of things are sold out there with hypey words. Automation, viral, all these different things. And then somebody gets in and involved and realizes that it's not quite what they thought it was. It's not non-automation. It's not automation. It's not viral.

It's not immediate or instant. And it requires a lot of hard work. And I think that one of the most important messages is being successful in any business does require hard work. It does. I've wrote some fantastic sales letters. And I've used a lot of buzzwords in a lot of my marketing.

But the bottom line is coming from just a place of just truthfulness is it requires a lot of hard work. But the bottom line is when I used to work construction, my dad used to say, he used to teach me that when I got a paycheck, I would go to Home Depot because I knew I had to build up my tool base. It was always my dream to branch off and have my own company do my own thing. As much as I loved my dad and wanted to work with him, I wanted to go out and do my own thing and spread my wings and at least go out there and see what else was out there. So I was trying to build my tool base. And I would go to Home Depot or Lowe's or wherever.

And I would buy a tool. And a lot of times, I would look at the price or normally it was the price. And I'd say, I'll go with the cheaper one. And my dad would always look at me and he'd say, Dave, get the right tool. Spend a little bit more. Get the tool that you need that's going to last you for a long time.

And what I learned in that experience was that the tools that you use do matter. It is all about the tools that are in your toolbox. Never before have I been so confident about a tool or a product or a service like what we have here. So the beautiful thing is before, we obviously didn't have the proof and the results and the ability to be able to showcase that. Now we do. And you guys, because our site has so much authority, once we do go back live, get immediately back into the routine of doing what we were doing before.

And if you weren't doing it before, get in and do it. Blog every day. The bottom line is people are getting results just in a short 30-day period. And if you ask a lot of these SEO guys, and this is something that a lot of people just come in from also a truthfulness perspective, just because it's good to be well educated about different perspectives that people have, a lot of times other people don't understand the dynamics of how internet marketing works. So a lot of you who are kind of on this call just getting involved in the Empower network and who don't really understand how SEO works, a lot of times it can take, and you know this because you were doing a lot of SEO when you first got started, I've learned a lot about SEO. It wasn't my thing.

A lot of times when you go to rank a piece of content, a lot of times it could take six months to a year to really get it up. And I've been amazed because I've done blog posts just on the corporate aspect, which you guys have the same authority on your regular blogs as we do on the corporate blog. It's just the same exact thing. To rank something literally, no hype, no crap, literally within 24 hours. Now you're talking to a guy who is, I'm an instant gratification marketer. It's why I'm a copywriter, it's why I do paid marketing, it's why I've always focused on conversions, because I've created some sort of a high converting sales funnel and I put up a capture page to build my list and I slam traffic.

And I understand the dynamics of paid traffic and I understand the seamlessness of the entire process, how to make it seamless. From the very first time somebody sees an ad to the very last time or the follow up after you've made the sale to continue to build a relationship and upsell people. I understand that whole process. Well, I didn't like SEO because it took too long. So I would always focus on immediate paid traffic running through the funnel and then look at what I've spent opposed to what I've made. Being in Empower Network, I've learned a lot and been in awe of the results that somebody could get with our products.

So here's the point of me saying that, is it's really, really powerful for you guys to be educated on exactly the power of what we have here. Because a lot of people don't really realize it. They get involved and because I have shiny ball syndrome, I'm always off over here and worried about this and worried about this. And the truth is, is we have a full package here inside of Empower Network and we want to teach people to utilize every aspect of what we have. Not only first and foremost, the beauty and benefit of coming in and understanding the dynamics of being a business owner, which was what I was talking about a second ago, but also the dynamics of where the marketplace is moving and what a lot of people are out there trying to do and charging big money to do, which is going to a business and doing all these things to help businesses get ranked on the search engines. Offline marketing is what they call it.

You now have the ability, because we've all come together on this one site, and that's the power to do what a lot of people are charging thousands of dollars, or let's say it this way, a lot of people are paying thousands of dollars for somebody to sit in a room somewhere and build backlinks and do all this thing. You have now the ability to do that by simply posting content onto the site. And if you know a little bit of SEO good, you can get it ranked quicker, but if you don't, it'll still rank anyways. So by reworking a lot of the sales material, it's going to benefit us in a lot of aspects, but that's one of them. But here's the cool thing about saying all that. A lot of times when I got involved in network marketing, the first thing that I would do, or affiliate marketing or whatever, it didn't matter even if I had a sales job or even a construction job.

The first thing that you do when you walk onto a construction job before you pick up a tool is the supervisor of the bus says, do you know what you're doing there? Well, if you don't, let's get you knowing what you're doing before you start messing with that electrical work, with that plumbing work, because they don't want you to screw something up, get electrocuted, kill yourself, kill somebody else. The beautiful part is, as much as we want to educate you, and we are going to educate you about the dynamics of where the marketplace is moving, which is online traffic, it is an e-commerce marketplace. Guys, it's much bigger than just affiliate or network marketing. It's where the entire marketplace is moving across the world in all of the countries. America, in many instances, is the last ones to pick up on a lot of this stuff.

This is the kind of thing I teach in The Daily Shortcut: one short episode a day, free. Send Me Episode One →

A lot of these other countries, they have started to move towards this as much or more as we have. Now, of course, I'm an American citizen and love our country, but the beautiful part is we're going to still do a lot of the explaining for you. So you don't have to get in. That was my point, is you don't have to get in and understand all of this right away, but it's important that we continue to educate you on the benefit. Because here's what's really surprising and what's really cool is I didn't quite know the benefit of what we had. I knew the power, but because it had never been done before, I didn't really know how powerful it really was for an average person, for somebody who didn't know about SEO.

So I'm continuing to be surprised and excited about what we have here. So just something that really caught my attention when you were talking about that, because we've got so many cool things here. And it's really important for everybody to understand really the value of what we've got here. And it's going to benefit us in so many different ways to be able to do that. But I could tell more stories about construction work and wandering around in Anway and Walmart and all that stuff, but that just kind of caught my eye. So I wanted to throw that out there.

Yeah, absolutely. And just a couple thoughts here and just a couple plans and a couple things that we need to kind of just tweaks we need to make. And this is one of the things that we're going to rework to make sure that it's properly conveyed in our sales messages. And this is going to be a little bit of a mind opening thing for a lot of people who haven't been around the network marketing industry or haven't been around for a long time. And Dave, if you're looking for your sandwich, it's in that heat thing on the- No, I need some coffee. OK, OK.

Yeah, sure, sure, sure. We've got to be really clear in our messages that we don't make money from recruiting affiliates. That we make money from selling our products. We're in the process of rewiring that to make sure that it's clear on that in our sales messages. But there is laws that kind of govern affiliate marketing, network marketing, that we want to be really clear of in our messages in the way. And I remember, I've known this actually for a long time.

And sometimes my brain just slips out and just stuff comes out of my mouth when I'm talking, just because I talk really fast and wear Batman shirts. And I've got long hippie hair. But the reality is, I remember sitting in a conference with this is Randy Gage. It came from Randy Gage a long time ago. I really like Randy Gage's stuff. He said that in the industry, it doesn't matter whether it's direct sales, network marketing, whether MLM or not, it doesn't matter.

You can't be in an opportunity where you're getting paid for the recruiting. He says, so when you're framing this in sales message, you always say, when you recruit Susan and she plays her first order, or when you bring in Susan and she orders the blogging system, rather than just saying, get her in. Because what we want to be really careful of is doing things in a way that is in compliance with some of the more serious laws. Because especially, we're growing so fast and so fanatically, which, by the way, is a good thing. Hype is a good thing for growth. We want to make sure that just certain things in our messages are tweaked around.

Also, it's very important, just from a compliance standpoint, folks, from a growth standpoint, from a sustainability standpoint, we want to make sure that if any of you are making references to income that you've made in the Empower Network, it's OK, actually, to talk about income just so everybody here knows, it's perfectly legal to do. In all 50 states, you can do it. But there are regulations with it that could get us all in trouble if we're not done properly. And the regulations with it that are important for legalities, for leadership, for you, for our teams, just understand, is that if there's a reference made to the income that you've made here, the number one, it's honest. And number two, that there's always a clear, obvious link to our income disclosure. Now, luckily, we have an affiliate-coded income disclosure, so it's not a bad thing to link to.

So use it to your benefit. Yeah, so even on your own, and we'll make that even more benefit, we'll make that, that goes, I think, to the sales video, we're going to rewire that to go through to a capture page instead. So what you can do even is if you're writing a blog post and you're talking about how much money you've made, just make sure that there's somewhere a reference that leads back to that income disclosure. We'll even make it more attractive. We'll make it look more pretty. We'll put maybe a video on it that explains the comp plan.

But we've got to disclose what everybody in the company is doing, what percentage of people are at various income levels. If we don't do that, it could run us into problems. That's actually why we had that programmed, was because if we don't have that there and we don't disclose it, we can't talk about income. And it is important to be able to talk about income, because a lot of people are making money here. So if we're talking about it, let's disclose it, what actually people are doing. The good thing is here, it's attractive.

Well, it is attractive. There's nothing wrong with, there's nothing wrong with, there's nothing wrong with, there's nothing wrong with. Kelly loves this. He's been in companies that have been shut down. Well, Kelly loves them. Kelly, there's some people in Empower Network who understand a lot more of the executive stuff.

And it's not for everybody to have to understand. It's OK. But the attractive thing, or the unattractive thing, let's say, I'm looking at that vegetarian sandwich. Holy smokes, that thing's full of just all kinds of green stuff. This guy eats no meat. It's unbelievable.

I get around him and I just want meat. I don't know. I need to eat meat for this guy. Most companies try to hide. They try to mislead people about money, about how much people are making. The beautiful thing about what we have here at Empower Network is we don't have to do that.

We can be proud of the money we make and we can do the right thing and follow the rules and not have any problems and not really have to worry about it. We're actually going to educate you guys and teach you how to do that. It's not anything that you have to go out there and worry about. We're telling you what's important and we'll guide you through the process. And it's most important for us to lead by example. We're going to do that.

So right now, it's just educational information for you anyways. And for us, too. Sure, of course. Two teams of legal counsel. I'm telling you, every time I sneeze, I get a bill for $400, but it's the name of the game. That's life.

No, absolutely. Folks, just be cognizant of this thing because we are excited. We're pumped. We don't want to stop any excitement or being pumped up. We just want to make sure that in addition to paying you 100% commissions right now, that we also are paying you 100% commissions 10 years from now and 20 years from now. A lot of people don't think things can last that long.

They don't think that it can be done because they've never been in one of these Amway organizations. Kelly said, don't fart. It'll cost you $3,000. Yeah, don't fart. It'll cost you more than $3,000. The last fart I had was $3,500, Kelly.

But in any case, these lawyers, man, they'll get you for anything. But the reality is, folks, is that these Amway organizations actually have done that. And that's actually why a lot of our psychology is modeled without maybe the little cultish aspects of it. Why a lot of our psychology is modeled after the psychology that drives Amway organizations, because they're actually the only people in network marketing that I'm aware of that have built teams of hundreds of thousands of people that have been there now for 30 or 40 years. They've actually done that. And the people from those organizations have actually gotten done in other companies.

And so there's a reason for that. There's a psychology behind that. Also, there's a psychology behind why what we're doing is growing so quickly. We want you guys, over time, to understand that, especially who are new to the industry. Because the beauty is, here, you actually don't need to understand it in order for it to work. You just need to blog daily, tell others, and then get the commissions that are deposited in your bank account when Dave and I do the selling.

And hopefully, you realize by now how hard we will work to sell for you. We'll do webinars to sell for you. We'll get the leaders on the webinars to sell for you. We've done voice broadcasts to sell to you. We've actually got all the leads that have ever opted into the Empower Network pages and your affiliate links, folks. So if we ever email that list, which we're going to start just as soon as our site is back up, they will be emailed out with your affiliate links to help you to sell.

Why? So you don't have to do it as much. So you can build a business and have a life at the same time, that's really what our core message is in the Empower Network. And we're going to do whatever it takes to make sure that that becomes a reality. Couple of plans and a couple things that we're working on that I'm just tossing as a message out there. There's a lot of things that we're working on building in addition to working on fixing, in addition on plans that aren't finished yet, but we're in the process of making.

And so just be in awareness as long as we can get some of these bigger issues sorted out relatively quickly. Right now, our core issue is making sure that our message is going to be OK, not just in conversions, but also OK in the sense that it's bulletproof, legally. And also to make sure that we've got a bulletproof relationship with the bank that can scale to where we can have 1,500 or 2,000 or 3,000 people coming in daily into the organization and not run into a hiccup. That's really important technologically, from a banking perspective, from a legal perspective for us. That's why Dave's down here, is to specifically work on that. Couple things that we're going to do, as soon as we get some of these issues worked out over the next week, is we're going to plan an event coming up here.

Now, this is going to be very different from normal internet marketing events. Now, by the way, folks, in saying this, this is not critical of any other internet marketing events. I love no excuses. I actually love my Leads and Pro event. I think every event that I've been doing in this niche has been a great job. But this is going to be an Empower Network specific, no-pitch event.

In fact, if we do do any pitches there, it will be stuff that makes you money from bringing a lot of people to the event, because everybody is affiliate-coded to whoever brought them in. So when we do this event that we're going to have, now this is not going to be a, I know I have a Costa Rica thing back there for five grand. Actually, that's not going to happen in January. That will happen later. We'll have a higher ticket event, but it'll be pushed back probably maybe to March or April. But probably in January, late January, early February, we're going to hold an event somewhere.

We've been in contact with some people who have been doing events for a long time and have been reaching out in their sphere to connect with some event planners. Folks, we want you and all your people to come, because what we're going to do is over two or three days, is it's not going to be Dave and I. Dave and I will probably talk for maybe an hour each, the whole thing, maybe half an hour. I don't think any of them believe it when you say they'll talk for an hour. I'll get out in like 10 o'clock when everybody's ready to go to bed and then just talk till everybody passes out. But I'll bust out an old amway on that.

That's the old amway trick. But in any case, folks, what we're going to do is we're going to have the leaders in Empower Network who are making money teach you how they're doing it. And so if we got somebody here who's made $10,000 a month, you better believe that you're going to know how they're doing it. And here's the cool thing about it. I believe that if we operate it not… See, because most of the time…

By the way, folks, this is not critical. It's just an observation. People usually don't want to go to events because they know that event is there to sell me stuff. It's there to sell me stuff. Whereas I saw in the amway organizations, 15,000 people show up three times a year who weren't even building the business. So we've got 10,000 people here.

I actually think we could get 2,500 to 3,000 or 4,000 people at an event in January. We probably won't open it up that day. We'll probably seal it off at 1,500 or 1,000 just as an experiment to see what we can do. I actually think we could get 3,000 people to an event our first time. But I want to make sure that you're able to come, that your team's able to come. And we're going to come out with a strategy.

Obviously, we can't sell event tickets with 1,500 people for 100% commissions. But we will work something out with the leaders on that. So if you want to speak at an event and get some exposure and be in a product that will be recorded and offered later to people in the Empower network, do what you've got to do to make $10,000 this month. Just do what you've got to do to make $10,000 this month, and you can be a part of that strategy. Other thing that we're working on is, I talked to Dave about this, I've talked to some of the leaders about this, we're going to be making a DVD. You say, well, Dave, you're an internet thing.

Why would you make a DVD? Because in the process of growing so fast, we've brought in a lot of old schoolers, an abnormal amount. In fact, true story, we started the Empower network. And two days later, I got a phone call from one of my buddies in Empower, Paul, who's primary business, great primary business. He's got big residual income there, and he's just building this from the affiliate side. And he said, David, you wouldn't believe what just happened.

I said, what? He said, I just got prospected by a heavy hitter in my town who I know, and he's in the Empower network. He called him up, cold called him and prospected him. I said, really? He said, yeah, you'll never get it. And I said, what's his name?

And Paul told me his name. So I looked up his name in our administrative area. This is a week in. No, it's like two or three days in. This guy was seven levels down of referrals in the organization. So we brought in somebody who brought in somebody who brought in somebody, brought in somebody, brought in somebody, and this heavy hitter, seven levels down, prospected some other guy I brought in.

So I mean, I'm looking at this, and I'm like, we've got all these old schoolers. And here's the thing that I know about old schoolers, is they like offline tools. They'll be like, blogging, what the heck's that? Just give me a phone list of 80,000 cold calls. Give me a cassette tape to wander around in Walmart with, or whatever. So here's what I experienced one time in the past.

I was actually in a company, it was a nutritional company, and I was struggling. My business was actually just full of pain. We had a little group of 10 people. Two of them showed up to the meetings every week. And the reason was is because I didn't know how to sell the industry quite well. I didn't know how to sell it too well yet.

I hadn't learned these skills yet. Like this is why our tour. By the way, there is a video out there somewhere. Oh yeah, where I'm doing a meeting for this company on the internet. It's still out there. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

I showed you that. So in any case, I used to do the meetings every week in this thing. And it was like my buddy Chris showed up and the one other guy we had in the meetings. So we're doing these meetings. And then Eric Worre made this DVD. Now here's what I'm going to tell you guys is I can make, now I love Eric.

I'm just going to challenge Eric out there because I know he's spying. I could make a DVD that will outsell Eric five to one with Dave Sharpe's help. I think I could do that. So what we're actually doing is if you've made, now this is the threshold that I'm going to ask for, if you have made over $5,000 since we launched, as of now, so in a month, if you've made over $5,000, which there are I believe over 40 people now, I want you to contact, I'm going to send an email to you. So if you don't get the email, sorry you're not included quite yet in this. But I'm going to send an email out with instructions on how to do this.

And I want you to contact a local video studio, professional, not just a normal camera thing. And I want you to go, and we're going to give you some questions to answer kind of more of an interview style about Empower Network. And I want you to actually go get a recording with the testimonial in it, sharing your experiences, how much money you've made, things like that. And when we produce that, we'll actually have just a copy of the income disclosure right in the DVD to make sure anytime somebody's getting income messages, they have copy of the disclosures. So we're going to be doing that this week as well. And I don't know when it will be available, but we're going to be working on the filming for it.

And then it'll be a process of collecting all the testimonials from various people around the world and putting them together into a product. Now, here's what that'll do is it'll give somebody who wants to go talk to somebody something they could just say, hey, just watch this. And people will want to get in. I just promise you people will want to get in because we're wearing Batman shirts and driving Ferraris. It's great. Not really.

I don't drive Ferraris, but that was hilarious. All right. So event, DVD, we're working on the merchant issues. Want to let you guys know. And also, last thing I want to mention just as a way of announcements, we're going to be doing this product with $15,000 per month formula. It was originally going to start this last week, and our server crashed.

Well, the problem was, folks, is we couldn't give access to that product to all the people who upgraded. And the reason is because the database crashed and some of the people who upgraded don't have access. And therefore, we don't know who they are. So again, in order to get into that product, it's very important that everybody in the Empower Network is reached out to and told, please log into your back office, click on each tab, and check if you've got everything that you've paid for to make sure that when we do start that product, that we can make sure everybody who is supposed to have access to it is going to have access to it. So probably, we're going to extend that promotion probably until Thursday or so this week to make sure that number one, the site's live and we can upgrade people. That's important.

But also number two, that the people who have upgraded have access to that product. Now, here's the cool thing about that $15,000 per month formula, this is why I'm so excited about it. There's several reasons why I'm excited about it. We haven't decided what we're going to do with the comp plan. We're actually going to do a leader's call here in a couple of days to see if we want to reverse the codes on that or not. So if you're a leader, you'll get an email with special conference dial-in number here in the next two days that we'll do it through.

But folks, this product that we're going to do, the $15,000 per month formula, is literally going to be the formula on how to use the Empower Network system, specifically, strategically, marketing-wise, from the people who are making money, from the people that know SEO, from the people that do phone prospecting, from the people that are going out there, on how to use this system to get the results that you want, but also how to use the strategies that we're using here to do whatever it is that you want to do in your business. It's, like everything else, going to be a 100% commissionable product that we're going to add to the sales funnel later for $250, as long as your people are upgraded by the time we close that off, which, again, we would have closed it off, but then we had a database crash, so we have to open it up. As long as your people are upgraded before then, they'll get access for free, but also they will be able to resell that product immediately without any qualifications, without purchasing it, and they'll have access to it just because they took action. And our goal is, I don't know how many people actually know this, but our vision and our goal with this particular product is actually to do a massive marketplace launch with it. So I want you guys to really think about this for a second. We did almost a million and a half in four weeks, but we can actually do that, or that was very specific.

Now, obviously, the entire marketplace had the opportunity to get that, but now that we have a broader reach, and we do, we have a much, much, much deeper reach into the marketplace, not only inside of the network marketing niche, the affiliate niche. We've got people who are inside of Empower Network who are not network marketers, so kind of an interesting dynamic with the type of people. So we've got an opportunity now to reach into all kinds of different niches, but I don't know how many of you are familiar with the launch model. I mean, me personally, I've launched products just to small groups of people, just on personal lists, and just done a tremendous amount of sales from the launch model. Now, what is the launch model, for those of you who don't know it? Well, simply, it's a lead up.

It's a burst of energy, and it's a lead up to a point to where you open a product back up to the public, and in this case, how that translates is when the cutoff time goes for people to upgrade to be in the training live, well, that's obviously the cutoff, and in between that cutoff and the relaunch or public date that we relaunch the product, then there is going to be no access to the product, and then there's going to be an energy lead up until the relaunch. Obviously, we're going to launch it along with you and kind of guide you and give you a swipe and show you what to do and how to do it, but when we open those floodgates, everybody who owns that product has the ability and the opportunity to participate in that launch, and there's a lot of benefit and power in that, because what we're going to do, the launch, just to finish that thought, was it's going to be open for a week or whatever, a week however long we decide to open it for, whether it's four or 10 days. It's open for a specific time, and people will offer some bonuses or will offer the psychology, the selling psychology, to get the job done, and we won't just get the job done, we'll get the job done in an overwhelming fashion like we like to do, and you'll have an opportunity to participate in that launch, and the beautiful part about what we've got here with this particular product is the star power there, usually a lot of times with people with this type of reach, actually not even this type of reach, can do a million and a half, a million, let's be conservative, let's just say a million, because I know people who have done more than a million dollar launch. With one person, like Dave Wood, or with Dave Sharpe, or whatever, we've got 15 people who people regularly pay anywhere from two to $1,000 an hour for coaching and consulting, and are the top income earners inside of the industry, so you can multiply the power and the value of that product by 15, okay, so you have an opportunity to participate in that launch, and I'm telling you that the people who are not, who don't own the product, they're gonna have to buy the product during that launch, and they're gonna wish that they participated in that, and the cool thing that makes me feel so good about that is that we're not putting a price tag on that, we're just, the reason why we decided to be able to, that you have to upgrade is simply because of the seat limitation, we just can't get, we can only get so many people inside of the webinar, so that was the, you know, that was what you had to do to be able to get on the webinar, so I don't know if that made sense or not, but that launch model would be able to participate in that, and the way that we communicate with affiliates is much different than most people communicate with their affiliates. Most people don't communicate, they don't guide them, they basically make their affiliates have to market themselves, they say, here's the big launch, you know, I'm gonna send out some swipe copy or whatever, maybe once or twice throughout a seven or 10 day period, but we literally, and we've continued to do this even 30 days later, continue to guide you and give you the marketing material that you need to be able to share with people to convert, well, we're gonna communicate with you in any launch that we do and guide you through the process, and there's been a couple of guys out there who I've been able to actually learn a lot from is how they handle an affiliate launch, one is Mike Koenigs, he originally put out Traffic Geyser, there's a couple of other guys who do really, really good affiliate launches, Hoverson did a pretty good one to where he communicated with his affiliate base fairly well, and he was very well prepared, well, we're gonna do the same thing and try to over deliver and do something unlike anybody's ever done before, so the value kind of runs a little bit deeper, and so it's kind of an example of our entire system, there's always much more than it, and that's, it's always, there's two sides to every coin, double-edged sword, whatever you wanna say, is a lot of times people up until this point have looked who don't understand and they say, well, I don't get it. Well, a lot of people don't get network marketing, but what a lot of people, even inside the Empower Network, it's important for you guys to understand that there's so much more there than what meets the naked eye, especially if you're just getting involved in the industry, and what our main goal is not to just have some big, company that just produces all these top income earners, but we also want to educate people because what we're gonna do in this product is we're going to, when Dave was saying the strategies, the secret techniques, well, that's the point, is there's much more than what initially meets the eye, there's much more than just learning how to optimize a post, there's much more than just learning how to write a good email, there's specific psychology that I didn't learn that I'm still learning, even as co-founder, even as this, that every single day, I'm always on a search and a hunt to become a better business owner and a better marketer, so there's value much deeper than what initially meets the eye, so I just wanted to throw that out for you guys to kind of understand that the value of the education and then the opportunity there to take part in something that maybe you've never done before, maybe you've never taken part in a launch, maybe you've only been on the customer side, that's totally okay, because we want lots of customers, period, and we've got lots of customers, we've got lots of people right now inside the Empower Network who are just happy to be here because they understand the value of the blogging system and they just want to use our products, and I get personal testimonials every day, I'm a customer of our product, but the bottom line is, is you have an opportunity with this next move to be able to not only get a customer perspective, but we're not requiring you to buy anything to take part, you can now understand the dynamics of being a good affiliate and understanding how a good launch runs in the creation of a product, because we're literally going to create a product with you and we're going to show you how the product creation process works, so if for some reason you ever want to go out and do that, which it's a lot of hard work to create a product, and that's why the Empower Network's so powerful is because you don't have to create your own product to earn the type of money that you regularly would if you did create your own product, so if I had a whiteboard here, which I don't, I'm reaching for one, Yeah, I don't have one.

then I could write down all these different value and benefits and I think that the main point of kind of a lot of our conversation tonight is education, education, education, let's educate everybody inside the Empower Network because those are skills that you can take with you for a lifetime. Yeah, yeah, and I want you to think about one core thing here on this model of utilizing the power of events, launches, but not just, here's the cool thing about it, it's not just for Dave and I, it's for everybody, is because it allows us to reach outside our network and reach outside the money-making message only as well, to pull in a whole new group of people where we can say, let me show you how, the skills and the strategies to make more money in your business, and when we do that, what we do is then we can bring them into an upsell funnel, okay, that then we can upsell the regular memberships, the inner circle memberships, the Costa Rica intensive membership, and you refer them, they're coded to you, but also imagine having this ability where you're referring people in, we do have 10,000 people and there's multiple people here who have teams of 500, 600, 800 people. Here, imagine participating in a launch and your whole team starts making sales and those coded bonuses, essentially, those power lines, they reach out from every launch to you. So you can actually, literally, as an affiliate with that model, we believe, and again, we're gonna have to see it and see, let's see what happens, let's do something new, but we believe that you can build an asset here that we can launch to the public from a customer perspective as a product to sell, that every three months, you can have a $50,000 payday as an affiliate. That's our goal. So a little bit of a- There's obviously no guarantees, but that's the vision.

That's the vision. Well, yeah, it's the vision if you've got a big organization and you're willing to work hard and learn the skills and learn what's in that product and apply it. So that's what we wanna do, but again, we're gonna need, obviously, we're in challenges right now. Hopefully, the challenges will be resolved quickly, so the religious people out there, you can pray for us, and you got relationships out there, or you can connect with them, help us out as a community, we wanna build something great here. I was thinking about something the other day, and I was thinking about, for example, Tony Robbins' business, because I love Tony Robbins, he just makes me chuckle, and he just sells every minute, he's talking every day, he's like, hey, I'm Tony, you don't have to buy anything right now. I'll send it to you for free.

Yeah, I'll send it to you for free, and you just pay $14.95, don't even buy it, right? So in any case, he's this little schemer at heart, and I was thinking of that, I think his company's all together, they do a couple hundred million dollars a year in sales. When he went public, he did 1800 million, I think, that day. Yeah, and just think about, as a community, we can create that, right? That is what the Empower Network is, but it ain't just Tony Robbins making all the money, it's you guys, that's what we can do. So if we have the right message, and make sure that we're doing things the way that we can be around for a while.

So that's one of the reasons why we're here thinking, and just planning for the future. So just be on the lookout for the details of that event, we'll have an announcement of when it's gonna be, before there are any sales pages or anything like that, and just make sure everybody's gonna go, all right? And also, look out for that email if you're within that income threshold or whatever, on details on how that we're going to, on where to go for studio to get recorded. If you're married, please go with your wife. Like Chris and Jessica Dardy sit next to each other, and Chris, you can even wear a batman shirt in your video, and tell people how you made $19,000 your first 30 days in Empower Network. We wanna hear it be, I mean, people see you and they'll say, oh, this scheming little guy, if he's making this much money on the internet, be rich, right?

That's the beauty that I got and also Chris Dardy's got. They're like, they had people look at me like, and they're like, I'm in. Ha ha! Right? No, so we got a lot of value here, right? And we're gonna do that, and that'll be hot.

I wanna share something with you guys, folks. So what happened when Eric Mori made this DVD? Was struggling two people in a meeting, right? And it went from like two to like 100, it was like this. The company went from like 10,000 people to like 40,000 people, because all of a sudden, all these offliners, they just wanna walk around and talk to people and talk to their friends and family and get their grandma in. They could just say, watch this thing.

They say, what is it? I didn't even tell you, just watch it. Right? And if people watched it, we might make you, we could do the NDA thing, like do the NDA thing. Yeah, we might do the NDA thing, where you have to sign an NDA to see the DVD. We'll see, we'll play around with it.

Yeah, we'll play around with some ideas. But the thing is, what'll happen is, we'll get these guys in, and we'll go just build a team of 10,000 people offline. You're just talking to people, and then they're bringing all these offliners in that don't know what blogging is, and they'll all come in and blog about golf and soccer and beer and what they just saw on TV and religion and whatever, and we'll just push out the traffic that much bigger by pulling in a group that doesn't do this stuff. Right? And so that's on the horizon here. NDA with a DVD, I think so, Ed.

I think that would be funny to make somebody sign an NDA to even watch it. But we'll see, we'll see, we'll see. And then we could call it, the DVD, we could call it the secret NDA DVD. I don't know, we'll come up with something. But anyways, we're gonna work on that and strategize on some stuff this week. So over the next week, two weeks, we'll be putting some stuff together.

Just wanna tell you guys, appreciate you. We do apologize for the downtime. We didn't want it. But then again, we're looking at, we're saying, should we put the site up and just try to fix things as they break? Or should we try to fix the core? We don't wanna wing anything.

Yeah, we wanna fix the core problem because in addition to the server, there's actually a core problem in the way that our site was, the architecture of the site was that actually created the problem. So we wanted to go in and fix that core architecture. At least there's still be some issues, but fix that core architecture that caused the database problem so that we don't run into it no matter how big we get. And so we just said, yeah, let's leave it down. And then we open, open with a bang. So again, guys, appreciate you.

Dave, any thoughts, man? No, no, no. It was kind of interesting to hear because our lead programmer was like modeling or communicating the issue with the server, I guess, as a problem, you know? The problem is, well, and he's probably one of the most intelligent guys I've ever met in my entire life. I mean, just straight up unbelievable. But he's like, the problem is, and I got to thinking, I said, well, yeah, I mean, depending on how you look at it, it's a problem.

So it's not really a problem, it's just, again, Dave and I have kind of said this several times, is that our only challenge, because we don't have any problems, we just have challenges, our only challenge, and by the way, just for any of you who don't know, you're talking to a guy who struggled with real problems, real problems, dude, for 10 years of my life. Addiction, alcoholism, homelessness, self-destructive behavior, just all kinds of things that continue to keep me down, me, myself. So actually, the quality of my problems has improved dramatically. So I guess it's all just depending on how you wanna, the perspective that you wanna get on the challenges. Are they blessings? Are they blessings in disguise?

Well, that's the way that I look at life today. I look at any challenge as an opportunity to learn something new, and here's what I can tell you, is that the leadership at the, and I kind of hate this word, but I'm gonna use it, the executive level, the leadership at the executive level inside of Empower Network is on a constant search to educate themselves, to look at every challenge as an opportunity to grow, every challenge as an opportunity to learn something, to handle it better next time, and the beautiful part is, is that we wanna share that with you in an authentic, transparent, and honest way so you know that it's okay, and here's my ultimate vision, I know it is Dave's too, is to create a culture and an environment to where people can be themselves, to where they can not only grow business, but they can grow personally, that they can not only know that they can come here and relate to somebody wherever they're at inside of their business, if they're just getting started, or they're been in the industry for a while and they're kind of in that middle class where I was at for a long time, or they're somebody who's like Aaron Rashkin or somebody like that, or Kelly or all these other big time leaders that we have who can connect with somebody on that level, they can connect with them, but also you can connect with people on the personal level, wherever you're at inside of your life. I've had so many people over the course of the last, I don't know, you know, 30 days, ring me or email me or text me and say, Dave, you know, I'm going through the same exact problem that you said that you were going through four years ago, and I just wanna let you know that it inspires me that I can get through that. Or Dave, I understand the challenges that you're going through because I had a business that I started up five or 10 years ago or six months ago or whatever, and I went through some challenges too, and I appreciate you just being transparent and authentic and letting us know, Dave, that you're a real human being. I appreciate that because here's what I know that our marketplace and our world needs is it needs more real people who are not afraid to not only talk about their assets, but they're also not afraid because that's what it's about. This is about courage, not afraid to talk about their challenges, their weaknesses, the areas that they need to improve.

Here's what I always tell people, and it took me a long time to get to this point. I always used to think that I could be good at everything, and that held me down for a long time. I used to think that I could be great at managing finances and cooking, cleaning, and all this stuff, and what I realized, and I was actually talking about this with a kid today who is actually from Paris, hit, God, what was his name? It was a total Paris name. For some reason, I can't think about it, probably just because my mind just is in the process of deleting things at this point in time, but I was talking about the value of knowing what you're good at, knowing what you're good at, and what I realized over the course of about the last year to year and a half is I'm really, really, really good at a couple of things, and that's not cooking food. It's not cleaning the house.

It's not a few other specific things, but what I am good at is I'm good, and it took me a long time to be able to get here. I'm good at letting you know who I am, where I'm at, being authentic. Dave is too. Our only goal and mission in life is to be honest, is to be who we are, and not be anything that we're not, and not even pretend that we're anything that we're not, and those very principles that I'm talking about right here, right now, can not only dramatically change your personal life, but they can dramatically also impact your business if you, from this day forward, only focus on the things that you're very good at and don't ever try to do or force something that is just not within your personal makeup, because a lot of times, I tried to do that, and it was why I struggled. So, I say all that to just give you a perspective of where we're at, and that there's beauty, and there's opportunity and challenge, and a lot of times, the fix to people's life is not particularly money, and it's not particularly all the things that they think that it is, but it's meaning. It's meaning.

What is the meaning of your life? Because at the end of everybody's life, they're gonna ask themselves a couple of questions and I'm gonna actually quote Brendan Burchard on this, who's a fantastic marketer, and I don't wanna steal his stuff and say it's mine, because the original thought that he had, and I don't know if it was an original thought of his or he got it from somewhere, but at the end of everybody's life, they're gonna ask themselves three questions. Did I live, did I love, and did I matter? And I love that, because the truth of the matter is, is what we wanna do here in Empower Network is we wanna build an army of people who at the end of their journey, and you define your journey, can answer those questions. Did I live, did I love, and did I matter? Because they were inspired by the people inside of Empower Network to do that, and that's why I'm proud to be a part of this community.

Well, that's it, folks. Appreciate all of you. I think that you guys rock, and let's lock arms and fight the forces of evil. And fight the forces of evil. Sweet, all right.
