Hello folks. This is Dave Wood. I am talking to you from out here in Costa Rica in my house up in the mountains. I apologize for getting started 1 or 2 minutes late here. Just to have had an incredible weekend, an incredible day, really, really, really, really neat things happening here inside of Empower Network.
Just in the last 7 days from some changes that we made last week, we've actually increased the overall whole company numbers by right around a third. So tonight we wanted to come back and do some things, just kind of piggybacking off of last week to help us all get started on the right track, and help us all point together towards a more powerful 2014 – hold on just one second. Dave Sharp is asking me for the code and the number to get onto this. Let me just send that to him. I have a hard time doing 2 things at once, and then I'll get going here.

So I wanted to cover some neat things here, and also just kind of update you since last week. I also wanted to give some recognition to the bonus pool earners from this week, and just kind of give you guys some progress for things that we're doing in the contest. We're going to make some adjustments to the contest for the coming 7 days. We just figured why not alter it a little bit here and there to see if we can't mix it up a little bit. So we're going to announce that and just kind of what we're doing this week from Monday today until Monday next week.
I wanted to share some strategy with you guys to really get to the next level. Over the course of the last couple of weeks, I've just kind of made a renewed commitment to my business personally. I'm not talking about the Empower Network business, although I am. What I'm really talking about is I've made a commitment that I am going to be the best affiliate leader that I know how to be. I'm going to be out there in the field doing things this year that I've never done, because I believe that 2014 is special.
I also believe that what we can do if we focus our energy is completely unheard of in the industry, even compared to the cool stuff that we've done in the past. For those of you who don't really know Empower Network and who haven't been around a long time, we've already done some things that have been unheard of before in direct sales. They've been unheard of before in Internet marketing. They've been unheard of anywhere. We've produced leadership and incomes and success that nobody that I've ever heard of has been able to reproduce even in times of peak growth.
We've got people who have been earning amounts of money that I'm going to be honest, they blow my own mind, even though this company came from my mind. It still blows it. It blows the roof off of it because of some of the things I see people doing, especially this last seven days, some of the things that I've seen people do. Get excited. Tonight's going to be fun.
We have no idea how long we're going to be on tonight. What I do know, though, is what I'm going to share and what I'm going to update you on. First things first, I wanted to give you guys just some – Hold on a second. Let me pull this up. I wanted to give you guys an update just on the contest.
Let me make sure I've got the right dates here that I'm looking at, of last week. Okay, Monday. Let's see. We've got this. Hold on a second here.
Okay, got it. Let me give you guys an update for just this last seven days. We launched a bonus pool last Monday on the call where we said, we're going to take from certain products that we've got, from certain services that we've got, starting with Viral Blogging Academy, and we're going to create a bonus pool. The plan, actually, is to be able to expand this bonus pool, to be able to include other things that we're doing as the company becomes more profitable and as we have the ability to, to really, really be giving out some cool prizes. The reason we decided to do this was because we looked out at the Internet landscape, and the truth is that most of the contests that are out there on the Internet, they're just not as big as we can do, and they're not as often.
We've ran a lot of contests here at Empower Network where we've gone on for two months, or we've gone on for three months, and we've given some amazing prizes out. We just gave Vic Strez's house a Tesla supercar at our last contest that was running for about two or three months. We gave out my watch and Dave Sharp's watch. At the time, of course, I had the more expensive watch. I'm not sure if that's true today, especially since I don't have one anymore, but I gave away a $39,000 watch to Justin Meringia.
Dave Sharp gave away a $15,000 watch to Michelangelo Lopez. We've given away cars. I looked at that, and I said, there's a better way to do this, so we decided to launch a weekly bonus pool last week. The response to that has actually been pretty amazing. I just wanted to reach out.
A lot of you guys have been following the updates on Facebook. You've been following the updates that I've been sending out in email. I wanted to update you on the winners of that contest, and then I'm going to talk about the changes that we've got for this coming week, and what we're going to be focused on as a community. Then I'm actually going to come and interview a couple of the contest winners that we've got available for the call, and I'm just going to ask them how they did what they did. Then we're going to bring Dave Sharp out, and he's going to share some strategies and some vision with you guys on the call.
No matter where you are in the world, no matter what you're doing, I want you to pay attention, and here's why. What I'm going to paint out for you, what Dave Sharp is going to paint out for you tonight, it's going to be the beginning of a massively, massively bigger vision for you in 2014, the beginning of it. Pay attention. Take notes. Get ready to get excited, and let me announce the contest winners.
Last week we announced a bonus pool that was based on new sign-ups only. We said, all right, if you bring people in to the blogging system, we're going to do a competition just for who can bring in the most people, and then we're going to allow everybody to win something. We had a remarkable amount of people qualify for that, but let me actually just talk about the first few. Number one prize was Michelangelo and Lena Lopez. They actually call themselves the Guru Eaters.
I actually got Michelangelo on the call. We're going to bring him out a little bit later. Last week he brought in personally 59 customers of the blogging system. Now I want to compare that to some other things here just for a second. Now he's the number one.
Granted, not everybody did that, but that's one guy who has kind of a small list. Now I want to point something out here about Michelangelo and what he did last week, and I want you to think about it and compare it to other things that you've been in. I got started in an old-school network marketing company in 2002. In that company you were a superhero, a superhero. You walked on water and you glowed in the dark if you brought in two people a month.
That was the aim. It was like two people a month. Then I got in another company. We actually had some success in 2006 or 2007. We were selling gel vitamins.
In that company you were a god almost. If you were bringing in like two people a week, you were like a superhero. Here we've got this little Internet thing. A lot of people out there in the marketplace don't even understand what we're doing with this little Internet thing that did $63 million in 2013. We've got a guy, Michelangelo Lopez, who brought in 59 people in a week, in seven days.
He actually the other day brought in 20 people a day. I'm going to bring him out today and talk a little bit about how he did that. Number two, we had Kano. Here's the interesting thing about Kano. I actually don't know who that is.
I've never met him. He's a silent player in Power Network. That's okay. We have some of those. Some people, they come in Power and they say, I just want to promote.
Does this give me an environment to do that? He actually placed number two. He brought in 24 people last week in the last seven days. Number three, Tatiana Torres. She's a big IBM mastermind.
She brought in 21 people. I believe she's actually going to be on the call tonight too. We're going to bring her out and then bring Michelangelo out. Number four, Paul Gardner with Team Blade. Paul Gardner brought in 18 people last week.
Number five, Robert Probst. He's in the Empower Success team. Robert Probst brought in 16 people in the last seven days. Those are the top five this week. Congratulations to Michelangelo, Lopez, Kano, Tatiana Torres, Paul Gardner, Robert Probst.
Then all of these people, I'm just going to read off of their names because I want to give recognition where recognition is due. All of these people brought in 10 people or more over the course of the last seven days. I'm just going to read them off. Anchor, Agrawal, and FEMA. They're over in India actually.
They brought in 15 people. Tim D brought in 15 people. Jon Amros, 15 people. Graciela Carci, 15 people. Lee McKenna, 15 people.
Keala Kanai, 14 people. Eduardo Aldo Valdez-Sylvester, long name there, 13 people. Stormy Wellington, 13. Elena Fraga, 12 people. Vic Struthouse, 12.
Aaron and Sophia, 11. Josh Schoonley, 11. Victor Esteban Valdez. Alpaco, you got some cool names guys, 10. Tony and Jessica, 10.
Demetrius and Lucia, next level. I don't think next level is their actual last name, but Demetrius if you're on this, congratulations. Miguel Pacheco, 10, and Jeff Buchanan, 10. Then I'll actually be emailing a list out of all the people that at least placed and got over five people in the last week. Guys, if we were in an auditorium, I'd be saying put your hands together for the people that I just read out on the list because the last seven days were the top people in the community.
I'll be emailing out a message right after today's conference call just with the prize details and just say congratulations. So that's it for the recognition. We're going to bring out a couple of these folks here in just a minute. But before we do that, what I want to do is I want to talk about bonus pool changes for the coming seven-day period of time. That's starting today, going for the next seven days.
The goal is to make this bigger and bigger and bigger each week. Then we're going to bring out the people and do some interviews and then share some stories, some concepts, and some strategies with you. This next week we decided to do something that we've done in some of our other contests. That is we're going to go and do a point system that's based on a few things just for the next seven days. Here's going to be the cool thing if you've been in Power Network for a long time is if you want to participate in this next seven days and get on the leaderboard, you have the ability to by doing a handful of things.
Let me actually pull out what we're going to be doing. Then actually next week we're probably going to make an adjustment for the next seven days too. We're just going to keep doing that to mix it up and keep you guys on your toes and keep giving out bigger and bigger and cooler and cooler prizes. Here's what we're going to do. We're going to do a point system.
This is going to last all day today. Every sale that you've made today counts. That's from 12.01 a.m. Eastern Time all the way up until midnight Eastern Time Sunday night. This is the system that we're going to be using.
You bring in a new blog customer, you're going to get two points in our contest. One blog customer, two points. That's going to be four points. A new affiliate, one point. And an event ticket, that's going to be three points.
It's going to be the same cycle. It's going to pay out Monday through Sunday, bonus pool, same thing. I'll talk about details in the email. Once again, let me repeat the details and then let's just get to work and see who's number one. I'll be sending out daily updates.
New blog customer, two points. New Viral Blogging Academy sale, four points. New affiliate, one point. Event ticket, three points. The percentages of the pool that we're going to be paying out are going to be the exact same.
And I'll announce the details rather than doing it on the conference call. I'll announce them both in an email after the conference call tonight just so people are kind of refreshed on those. And we'll get them up on a page in the back office here this week. And I'll also post that on my Facebook wall which is Facebook.com forward slash Empower Network. So that being said, let's get into the nitty-gritty of tonight.
We've talked about the announcements. We've talked about the contest winners. And now let me share kind of some stuff that I'm doing from a company side just to get your checks bigger than they've ever gotten before, and to really take things to the next level. A lot of you guys have been noticing over the course of the last couple of weeks that we've been reinventing our sales materials. That's going to be a process that's going to last a couple of months as we're going through each one of our products and figuring out how do we best optimize this to help people get the results that we want, maintaining the things that have got us to where we're at, but at the same time doing them in a way that's more efficient, where we're testing changes that we're putting out there in the marketplace where we can make things happen in a bigger and better way.
So a lot of you guys saw this last week. I posted up a new upsell video for Viral Blogging Academy. I'm actually not done with that. That video that I posted, it reduced the sales video from 60 minutes down to 13 minutes. I sent out an email with the link.
And the number of people buying Viral Blogging Academy immediately almost doubled from changing the video. So that video is working like crazy. Those of you who've got teams, if you want to get the contest, you can send them that video. I'll shoot out a link in tonight's email. So I've done that.
In this coming seven days, my task and my goal with you guys is to get the 15K formula moving faster into the marketplace than it's ever moved before. So this week I'm going to be revamping the sales material for the 15K formula. Those of you who are in Empower, who are affiliates, a lot of you know what that is. Some of you don't know what it is. It's our $1,000 product that we have here.
So there's a lot of people in Empower Network that have had days where they've sold one, or two, or three, or four, or even five, or ten 15K formulas. There are a lot of customers in Empower Network that have had days where they've had multiple $1,000 days from selling that product. And I'm going to tell you guys something from a perspective, not as a company owner, but from a perspective of somebody who's also a leader in the field, from a perspective of somebody that's out there who's in the trenches building with you. Let me tell you the secret, if you really want to know the secret to moving an organization fast. This is how to do it.
And what I'm going to tell you is simple, and there's a few of you that are going to do it, and there's a whole bunch of you that aren't going to do it. And I want you to listen, and I want you to pay attention to that. This is how to get an organization moving fast. Number one, learn how to consistently bring in people on the front end. You don't have to be a superhero like Michelangelo, though, by applying his strategies that we're going to bring out tonight and some future things that we're doing, by applying those you can definitely bring in more people.
But you don't have to be a superhero and bring in 60 people a week in order to really make movement and make things fast. That being said, you can't be lazy. You can't be expecting money to come in for nothing. You can't expect to go out there in the marketplace and be getting big checks when you're not out there producing. You've got to produce if you want to make money, folks.
I went on a long rant and rave about that last week, and I don't want to rehash it except for to say, guys, you've got to learn to produce if you want to make real money in direct sales. Direct sales is not – now, you could call this direct sales. You could call it we're doing some weird mix of Internet marketing, direct sales, and network marketing. You could call it none of the above and something new. The fact is, though, we make money from selling products.
And if you guys really, really, really you want to make something big for yourself, you've got to learn how to get products moving, whether you're learning to do the sales presentation or whether you're learning to send more people to the presentation or whether you're learning to do both. It's not really relevant. What's relevant is that you're making new sales. The number one thing you've got to do is learn to produce consistently. Now, I'm not one of these people that's going to come on here and tell you, hey, go bring in 100 people in a week.
Go do what Vic Strithouse did because I know the truth. I know that a lot of you are in the same position I was in 2009 when you got started online. And the fact is, I didn't have a list. I didn't have a customer base of 10,000 people that I could come in and slam them into a deal. I just didn't have it.
I could not do in 2009 what I did when I launched Empower Network. See, when I launched Empower Network, it was a little different. Here's why. When I launched this company, I had to be reminded of the story the other week by my good friend Darren. He said, what did you actually do when you launched this company?
I had to think about it. And I had to be honest with myself. I said, well, here's what happened. I had been building a business online since 2009 where I had been bringing in an average of two customers a day. And then I had this idea.
And I said, this is a bigger idea. This is something where I can help anybody create success. This is something that I can build a bigger and a better vision. And here's what I did. I got on the phone with Dave Sharp like we're doing again tonight.
He's on here with me. And we started doing a conference call. We did a conference call every Monday night for I believe two or three months. There's about eight of them where we did nothing but give value and tell people if they're serious about their future, they've got to get to this meeting that we were going to hold out in Orlando, Florida. And for two months straight, we did nothing but pre-sell getting to this event where we met up together over in Orlando.
Now here's the thing. We were doing that to all the customers we'd previously gotten, the list that we'd had for years, and the customer base, the trust, the loyalty that we'd both been jointly building. We both threw them onto that conference call. And I'm going to be honest. Those two months, we worked our tail off.
And we worked our tail off doing nothing but pre-framing and promoting. Now here's the cool thing. I'm describing this. And you guys can also go back in time and listen to it because all of those pre-sell conference calls are actually in the inner circle. So if you've ever wondered how did they launch the company, go back in the inner circle before Empower Network existed and listen to those ancient calls.
It's like the first eight of them where Dave Sharp and I are getting on a Monday night call at 9 o'clock. We started in Power Hour. We even called it in Power Hour. And we got on. We ranted and raved.
And we pre-sold getting to that event in Orlando. And in Orlando, we actually got together with our strongest customers, the people that we've been working with for the longest. And we told them what the vision is and what we're going to do. And they all got in. We got everybody in a room, about 39 people in Empower Network.
Those 39 people turned into in the last two years almost a quarter of a million people. How did we do it? We did it because we had been building a business. We'd been building trust in the marketplace for a long time. So when we started the company, we could bring a lot of people in all at once.
However, when I was new, I couldn't do that. So what did I do to get where I was at when I was new is the question. I learned to produce daily. I learned to produce consistently. I learned how on a daily basis.
to bring in two people a day into my business. A lot of people, they've heard me say that, and they've said, Dave, you keep telling people to do that, and only a handful of people will ever bring in two a day. Well, here's the honest truth. I could go with a message that everybody else goes with, which I believe is a dishonest message. I could say, hey, you don't have to learn to produce.
You don't have to learn how to bring people in consistently. You don't have to do that, because here's the truth. I could come on here, and I could say, hey, all you've got to do is get five people, and they're going to get five people, and they're going to get five people, and eight generations down all of Costa Rica is going to be in your downline, but I would be lying, but here's what I do know. I know that won't happen, but I know what will happen is if you learn how to sell every day, and you learn how to produce every day, you learn how to get your name on the leaderboards on the daily updates that I'm sending out every single day. You learn how to get your name on there, and just be consistent, and do whatever you've got to do to get on there.
I know that you can make something big of yourself, because that's all I did. I never produced big numbers daily, guys, and I want to really emphasize that for a minute. I have never produced massive daily numbers, not ever. I've never had a time where I've brought in like a hundred people a day for like months straight or something ridiculous like that, but I'll tell you what I've done more consistently than anybody else I know in the world, what I've done more consistently, guys, is I have just brought people in every single day into my business, and I've done it since I've been online since 2009, and I've done it every single day in Power Network. I've done it when we've had down sales month.
I've done it when we have up sales month. I've done it when we have had struggles. I've done it when we've been in the flow, and I'm there every single day, every single day, every single day, every single day. I am one of the most consistent people in the world, so that's what you've got to learn to do. Number one, bring people in consistently every day.
What is the goal? At least two, okay, and we'll work from there. Bring in two people a day, and I can help you make something big fast. What's the next key? The next key is getting at least one higher level ticket upsell moving in your organization daily.
What do I mean by a higher ticket upsell? In Power Network, we've got a handful of things that you can sell if you're an affiliate here that are high ticket. We have got a $500 product that's moving out there in the marketplace. That thing sells all day and night. We've got a $1,000 product that's moving out there in the marketplace.
That thing sells all day and night. That thing is just selling and selling and selling and selling, so what's the aim? What's the goal if you really want to make something big of yourself? Get one of those moving every single day, one of them, and look, I could care less what it is at this moment, and the fact is that it might be a different one every day. Maybe one day you're going to sell in addition to the two people you bring in.
One of them is going to buy the $500 product. If you will do that, the speed at which you can grow an organization can become abnormal and seem super normal, and the things that you'll have the ability to do are ridiculous. This week, what my goal is, is to help you guys get the 15K formula moving faster than it's ever moved before, so I'm redoing that sales material, and we're also doing some tests on our front-end sales material. David Sharp's also doing some cool things, and we're doing some other neat advancements in Empower Network. We're running a bunch of tests across different marketing campaigns that we've got going on right now, just to make sure that you guys have the very best that's out there in the marketplace.
That's what you guys can expect from me this week, and in addition to that, daily updates just on who's winning the contest, who's out there. Here's my question for you. My question for you is, who is going to place on the leaderboards? Can somebody beat out Michelangelo this week? I'd be interested, actually, now that we're just tweaking it just slightly, I'm interested Michelangelo, and I'll ask him, when I pull him out here in a second, I'll ask him if he's going to place number one again, and we'll see.
It becomes difficult to be number one every single week, but we'll see. Some people can do it for a few weeks, and so get on the leaderboards, and I'll send out that contest update for you a little bit later on. I want to tell you just for a minute, just for maybe one or two minutes, why I believe that it's important and critical for you to at least aim to be number one, to aim for it, right, to aim for it, and some of you on here, you're new, some of you on here, you don't have big lists, some of you on here are super affiliates, and you've never slammed your list because you're worried about your image or something like that, because you know what, the truth is, you've just never done it, and you don't know how cool we are with your people. You know, the reality is, though, everybody on here, you're from a different space, and some of you are like, I can't bring in 59 people in a week, or I can't bring in 30 people in a week. Well, here's what I believe you should do.
I believe that you should aim for it. Why should you aim for it, because what better do you have to do with your week than to aim for the best? A lot of people, they come into stuff, and they say, ah, I'm going to aim for mediocre. I'm going to just do the least I could possibly do to get my business moving. I'm going to do the littlest thing that I can do.
I'm going to come in, I'm going to work a little bit one day, and then I'm not going to work the next day. I'm going to come in, I'm going to place a solo ad one day, but then I'm not going to do it for another month and a half. I'm going to come in, and I'm going to blog one day, but then I'm not going to do it. I'll come in, I'll bring in two people, but I'm not going to keep doing it. Well, the fact is, is if you want to build a following, you've got to be consistent.
You've got to be consistent, and the most consistent people, they win every single time when it gets down to the nitty-gritty, guys. They win every time. I could list off person after person after person who has been in one of my organizations or is still in for the last four years who has done nothing but be one of the most consistent producers that there ever was on the planet, and it doesn't matter whether they've been consistent bringing in one person a day, whether they've been consistent blogging every day, whether they've been consistent in personal development every day, whether they've been consistent bringing in two sales a day, I will tell you something. The people with the greatest consistency build the greatest followings, and those of you on here who are up and you're down, and you're up and you're down, and one day you do it and the next day you don't, I would actually suggest working less hard and just being more consistent and more present with your list, being more consistent and more present on Facebook, being more consistent and more present with your team and speaking the same message all the time. The more consistent you are, the more focused you are with your message, the bigger your following will become over a period of time, because those people that are all over the place, one day they're doing one thing, the next day they're doing another thing, you know what the reality is, the truth is, folks, is they get people who trust them enough to buy and they never get people who trust them enough to stick with them.
They get people who trust them enough to upgrade to a product, but they never trust them enough to build a team with them. They get people who say, okay, I'm in, but you know what the truth is, they don't get people to stay in. The people who have teams that stick around them for a long time are those people with a vision that is there consistently. One last key that I'm going to give you, and I posted this on Facebook earlier today, and I'm going to bring on some guests and bring on Dave Sharp and get moving with the call. One last thing I wanted to give to you guys is just kind of like a key, and I want to emphasize this tonight, because we're moving in a direction in this company where we want to build an ethical culture of people that know what it takes.
I've always been like this, and I've always told people the truth. I don't think that you should sacrifice your family or something like that to build a business, because the truth is it's not worth it. I do believe, however, that there are times when, to be honest, you just need to work harder. When I look back over what I did to get Empower Network started and what I did to really get my income started in 2009 when I got on the Internet, the truth is I don't know anybody in the world that's ever worked harder than I worked for those three months. Now, there's people who have worked as hard, but the truth is it would be very difficult to top what I did.
It just would be hard, because there's only so many hours in the day, and you need sleep. You know what I mean? If somebody has an ability to not sleep, they might be able to outwork what I did those three months, but I worked hard. When we got this company going, I worked hard. I worked my ass off to get this company going.
I did whatever it took to get this company going. If you're new and you're in your business, I'm going to tell you something. You don't have the capacity to really focus like that for any more than 90 days, because you'll burn out. However, for short sprints, for short periods of time, you do have the ability to create extraordinary focus at certain times in your life. If you really want to make it big, if you really do, you've got to commit that you're going to do whatever it takes for a short sprint.
I promise you, when Vic Strithouse got on the Internet, it was all day and night for a short time. When he first found a way to join that first business that he was on, he went and produced that big first month. When Dave Sharp got on the Internet, I'd never met somebody that worked so hard all day and night for a short period of time. Lawrence Tam's first month in Empower Network, I don't even know how he was staying awake at work, but he was going to work all day, and then he was coming home at night and all night staying up and building his business, and he did that for about a month straight. That's why Lawrence Tam had a multiple five-figure month, his first month in Empower Network.
If you have never broken out, and you've never had a big success, and you don't have a big list with big influence, and you don't got tons of money, I'm going to tell you something. Maybe you just need to make a commitment to do whatever it takes for a little while and get off your ass and actually start working, because that's what it takes to build a business. Can we tone it way down later? Absolutely. Can you learn life management skills and cut your work to unbelievably low hours by learning intelligent business building strategies?
Yes, you can, but does that take away from what it's going to really take to break out? No, it doesn't, because I promise you, everybody that I know that has ever done massive things has gone through sprints of unbelievable energy. I've actually heard story after story from top producers about that, so I don't want to go on forever, but here's a secret for those of you who really want to make it big, and who really want to start developing a following, and who really want to change the energy in your business tomorrow, and you want to do it now actually, even later tonight, and here's a secret for you. Start doing live stuff, and just quit making excuses about it. Start doing live stuff, and do at least something live every single week, and I would actually encourage you to do something live more than once a week.
Why? Because here's what I've observed over a long, long, long, long, long period of time. I actually pulled out the list of all of our top earners, and then I started looking back over my teams of all the top earners that have been in any one of my teams since 2009, and I asked the question as I was looking at them, who on here has been on here and stayed on here for any significant period of time without doing at least one live thing a week? Something live every single week with their team, with their customers, with their list, and you know what the truth is? I could not find somebody that has been consistently one of the top earners in Empower Network that is not doing consistent live stuff.
Now, some of them are the face of live stuff. They're out there, and they rant and rave like I do, or they rant and rave like Justin Berenji does. Some of them are more team builders like Tony Rush, where he pulls on a board of his leaders, and they meet together every week, and they slam their list into their own live thing with their team, and they build a relationship, and they build a rapport. They give value. They give education to their list.
They help inspire people and lift people up, and they build loyalty, and they build loyalty, and they build loyalty. Some people do things like that. Some people are the face. Some people have energy. Some people do a conference call.
Some people do a Google Hangout. Here's the cool thing about doing live stuff that I'm going to get over to you, and then we're going to bring our guest out and bring Dave Sharp out, and I just want to encourage you to start doing it and stop making excuses. The cool thing is today, 2014, gosh, it's been forever now, it's all free. When I got on the Internet, you had to pay for GoToMeeting or something, or GoToWebinar. You could go out there, and you want to, and you could pace up for something like Adobe Connect.
It can do some of the stuff that free stuff can't do. You know what the reality is, though? There's two services out there, FreeConferencing.com and Google Hangouts, and you can do webinars that are of a higher quality than we had the capacity to do in 2009 when we were paying for stuff. If you will commit to get out there in front of your list and to sell and to teach every week no matter what, and if you don't know what you're doing, find somebody else who does know what they're doing and interview them. If you will get live in front of people every single week, there's a couple things I'm going to promise that are going to happen to you because I have seen this with just perfect consistency since 2009.
If you will be every week in front of your list, and you will give them value, and you'll sell, and you'll just say, here's your opportunity to join the team, if you'll just get out there in front of people, number one, you will start making sales if you do that every week. That's just something that's going to happen. I am telling you, I have never, ever seen somebody go out there in the marketplace and go out there live in front of people and to do it every seven days, just one time. Even if they're just interviewing somebody else in their team, or even if they're just getting on to be a part of something, I have never seen one human being that has gone through Empower Network that has done that consistently for even a few months without starting to build sales and a following. That's the second thing that's going to happen to you.
If you'll just start doing live stuff and promoting live stuff, you are going to start developing a following, and it will blow your mind how consistently that following will grow. I have seen this time, after time, after time, after time, and I can't tell you how many people have developed a kind of even fame with the people on their list, where the first time the people on their list see them at a conference, or the first time the people on their list actually meet them and get a shake of their hand, they feel like they've known them for years, because they've been on every single one of their conferences, because they've been on every single one of their webinars, because they've been on every single live thing that they've ever done. You cannot replace live stuff with recordings. You can't replace it with automated webinar systems. You just can't replace it.
Live stuff wins every single time. If you will commit to doing that, and just schedule one right now, pull out a pen, pull out a piece of paper and say, this Thursday at 8 p.m. my time, I'm doing a live thing and I'm just going to find somebody to join with me on it. If you'll pull out a piece of paper and a pen, you'll say, fine, I'll do one later tonight and I'll get people on Facebook. Here's the third thing that's going to happen if you'll just do live stuff every week, and just commit to doing it no matter what's going on.
Here's what's going to happen. Your team is going to stick around for longer. You're going to build more loyalty with your list. Your team is going to buy more of the upsell products. You're going to work less to bring people in, because you're just showing up consistently for people every single week.
Here's the next thing that's going to happen. You're going to start to develop an abnormal kind of skill at getting people to follow you if you will just show up for people and you'll just do it consistently and you'll just get in front of them. Google Hangouts, free conferencing, start something live every week and you'll be amazed it will happen to you. Vic Strithouse, he shared a story. It was in this interview series we're doing with him where he shared a story about one of his team members who, they weren't making any money.
They were building a list and they learned some skills to get traffic and leads and Vic got on the phone with her and he told her the same thing I would have told him. It was actually a gal and he said, I just want you to do something live every week. Just get on a webinar, get on a hangout, read from a book to people if you don't know what to teach them. Just do something live and do it every single seven days. There's people who have been in my organization now for four years and I've been telling them to get on and do live stuff every single week for four years and for four years they've avoided it and for four years they've avoided their paycheck as well.
Sometimes we say things like put down the phone, pick up the paycheck and the truth is you can build a business without phone calls but you can't build a business without showing up for people. You can't build trust without showing up for people. You can't build trust without being in front of people. You can't build trust without having a medium of communicating with people. You can build a kind of trust through video that you can build face to face and you can do that on the internet and you can do that through webinars, you can do that through conference calls.
You can build an abnormal level of trust by having your voice heard on people's phones by doing a conference call every week but you will never build trust and you will never build a following that is as loyal as the followings that I've built and as big as the followings that I've built if you're not willing to step up and get in front of people but if you're willing to do that and you're willing to step out in front of people and you're willing to cast your vision, you'll be amazed at what's happened for you. So what are my tips for this week? Number one, get on the contest leader boards and I'm going to read off this point system once again here in a second before I tip on. Number one, get on the contest leader boards. Learn to produce consistently, consistently every single day is a tip for the week.
Consistently every day this week. If you don't believe you can do it every day, believe you can do it every day this week. If you can't believe you can't do it for 90 days, then believe that for the next seven days you're going to bring in 10 people and you're going to be on that email that goes out in front of our user base and you're going to get your name out there and you're going to shine. If you can't do it all the time, then do it this time. That's what you do.
So number one, learn to produce consistently. Number two, learn to get one high ticket sale moving in your organization a day. Don't focus on all of them. Don't try to get people all in if they can't get all in and don't get frustrated about it. Sometimes people get in and they say, well, this person doesn't buy all the products.
Guys, that's because you're trying to tell them everything and they're not ready for it yet. Sometimes you know what people need to do? They need to make a decision to get the 15K formula. You know what sometimes people need to do? They need to get the master's course and go through the master's course and that's all they need to do right now.
You know what sometimes people need to do is they need to pull out their credit card. They need to buy the Costa Rica Mastermind Intensive and if you will focus on getting one high ticket product moving a day and two new customers a day, it will be amazing how fast your business will transform so that's my goal to help you this week. Tip number three or four or whatever, do something live this week and if you don't want to do it every week, then do it this week. Do something live and email it out to your list. Break through story and then I'm bringing out Michelangelo Lopez.
Break through stories. I get online in 2009 and I start seeking out people on the internet that were making more money than me. Got on a call with somebody who's famous for closing sales on the phone and he mentioned on this call that I did with him that this guy has a conference call every Sunday and I said, do you have one every week? I said, how long have you been doing that? He said, since I've been in the industry.
I said, since you've been in the industry, why do you do it? He said, because when I get on that call every week, here's what I know. I know the people that show up every week. Number one, they'll succeed. He says, number two, they learn to trust me more every single week because I'm only going to tell them stuff that's in the best interest of their business.
He says, number three, they get to hear my voice every single week and I get to close them again every single week as I'm casting them in and he says, but here's the biggie and he says, this is the most important thing. If I ever need to get in anything or if I ever need to start a new company or if I ever need to sell a new product or if I ever need some money, I can pop on that call that I'm doing every weekend because I give those people so much value. Those people will buy everything that I ever sell to them. I said, really? He says, yeah.
I said, what do I do next then? When should I start doing it? He says, how many people are on your list? I said, 82. He says, you should have started doing it when you had one person on your list because that's when you start your life thing because that's what molds you into the communicator, the leader that you've always wanted to be.
Start something live now. All right. Point system again. New blog customer, two points. New viral blogging academy sales, four points.
New affiliate, one point. Event ticket, three points and those people that place, that at least get five or more I'm going to actually send out the points this week. I've got to actually write them out. I don't have them in front of me, but we're going to send out this week what's going to allow everybody to place in the contest, what the percentages are going to be. where half the money from Viable Drug Academy is going to be paid out to the winners.
The top winner is going to get 30% again. So that being said, we have got a couple I believe of these people on the call. And I believe, hold on a second, Tatiana, are you on here? Hold on a second. Tatiana Torres, she's off in another country somewhere, so I'm not sure if she could get on.

Now, a lot of you guys know that we started the company together, and a lot of you guys know that this company was started as a partnership. Two people clasped their hands over a wooden table in Costa Rica.

You guys just give me one minute. Okay, so he's on. Awesome. Dave Sharp's on. So let me introduce Dave a little bit more than just saying here's Dave, because I like introducing people and giving them the kudos they deserve.
Dave Sharp, we clasped our hands over my little office table in Costa Rica, and on September 15, 2011, we signed the operating agreement for Empower Network LLC, and we decided to go at this together. That was a magical moment, September 15. I'm not sure if Dave Sharp remembers that one today, but that was the day our actual operating agreement, the first one, was signed that we used to build the company. And ever since that day, we have gone to work together in building this company. I've always been this visionary type person.
Dave Sharp's a visionary too, but he's always been this person that implements and gets stuff done. Let me tell you guys something. If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have an Empower Network. We wouldn't have done $100 million in sales because the company wouldn't exist. He's done some things that nobody will ever know about in this company to get this company moving, and I've never met somebody that works harder on building a vision.
Here's the best part about Dave, though. I've never met somebody that gets better faster. Some of you guys have seen him at every single one of our events, and I've never seen somebody communicate and get better at the speed at which Dave has gotten better at communicating a message over the last two years. In the last two years, he's become one of the most powerful and influential speakers in the world, and tonight he's got some concepts that if you take the concepts and apply them, and that's the key, apply them into your business and your life. I'm not talking about people who are just going to hear him and get pumped up and do nothing.
I'm not talking about not taking any action. I'm talking about if you listen and if you're willing to learn and if you're willing to apply the things Dave Sharf will tell you tonight, I'm telling you something, friend. You are going to have a breakthrough. I'll turn it over to Dave Sharp, all right, and then I'm going to have Dave Sharp bring you out and just pick your brain a little bit. Let me just see what he says here while you respond. Well, while we're doing this, Michelangelo, you're here and you're out. So congratulations on being number one this week. You brought in 59 people, which I've only seen a few people ever do in Empower Network, and to be honest, I've never seen somebody bring in that many people with as small of a list as you have. I just haven't seen people do it.
I've seen people bring in a lot, but usually the people that bring in a lot, they have lists of like 200,000 people or 100,000 people or something like that, and I know that you're just kind of a grassroots builder. You're out there in front of people. You're not promoting multiple deals all the time. You're always promoting one vision and one thing. So here's what I want actually from you.
Number one, I want to know if you're going to win this week too. You can just tell us in here in a second. Number two, though, I want you to give some tips for people on the call. You are bringing in an unbelievable amount of people from the list that you've got, and obviously we don't have time to cover your whole strategy and everything that you're doing here tonight, but we can give people some nuggets that are going to help them up their game. So I want you to tell me if you can, what's something that you do that is creating a difference for you that is the massive difference in results that resulted in you being able to bring in so many people in a week?
Can you just share some concepts with people, some tidbits, and then I'm going to ask some questions? Sure, sure, but to answer your first question is about winning next week, I already have seven for today, so I'm ready to roll. Okay, all right. Okay, so here it is. Here's what made the biggest difference for me, and I'm not just saying it.
Number one, I'm focused. I'm focused. If anyone can build multiple streams of income, it's Vic Strauss, and he does it. He stays focused on one thing. So I stay focused on one thing.
I'm going to share something with you. I'd say a good 30% of my sign-ups this week have been on my list for a good while, and one of them said, hey, Michelangelo, I was waiting to see if this truly was your last rodeo. People don't understand that there are people on our list that are on the fence to waiting to see if we're real, if we're going to move on to something else. I can guarantee that nobody is going to go all in if they question if you're going to be all out somewhere else, you know, promoting something else. So to me, every week I get someone saying, hey, Michelangelo, I've been on your list for 90 days, you know, four months, even six months, and I'm ready to join.
There are people on the list that are just waiting to see if we're going to stick around, if this is going to be our last rodeo, if we're off to something else. So that's one of my biggest things is I only promote one thing. I only promote one thing. You know what, it takes too much, I don't see how people, it takes too much energy to go elsewhere. I focus all my energy from the time I get up to the sun down, sun up to the morning, whatever I do, on one thing.
Number two is this, I want to be on the world's beaches. I want to be on the world's beaches, but not right now. I've got to pay my dues. Just like you said, you and Dave Sharpe, you probably better than you sleep, you know, when you first started. Now you reward yourself because you can be on the world's beaches because you paid your dues.
There's no cheating anything, hard work. I get up, I work my butt off for that day where I can work less, answer phone less, be in front of the computer less, be on the world's beaches. But right now, I'm cheating like any other real business, work my butt off so that I can, and I'm not talking about retirement days, but sooner than retirement days, I can live the lifestyle of the world's beaches and everything else. That's the big thing. So just let me, hold on a second, I'm just messaging Dave Sharpe here.
I hope there's too many people see where you and Dave are at and they forget that you worked your butt off, you know. So I remind myself all the time, hey, he was in a band a couple of years ago, you know, Dave Sharpe was on the streets a couple of years ago, they had to work their butt off, it didn't just happen overnight. So I remind myself that I think a lot of people miss that, or even in my case, oh, Michelangelo, where you at? But seven years ago, I couldn't afford Wi-Fi in New York. You know, I'd go from Barnes and Noble to Starbucks, tapping into the Wi-Fi on a big old, you know, those IBM ThinkPads that are like four inches thick, whoa.
So, you know, people tend to forget where you came from, they see you, you know, living the life now. So you then, you are only building one thing. And I see you, by the way, I opted into your list and you send out like a million e-mails every day. But, you know, I actually look at them and I read them. But so you're not promoting like multiple affiliate deals, you're not promoting multiple offers, you're just promoting the one thing.
I promote AWeber because I believe in AWeber, that's my affiliate tool, you know, AWeber, auto-responder, everyone should have an auto-responder there. As far as a business opportunity and EVS, EVVS, because video is king, and you said it earlier, folks, people connect with flesh and blood. And remember this, I'm not trying to be somebody to everybody, I'll get nobody. So when I'm on that video, I'm not trying to be somebody to everybody. I'm trying to get the means of this world and there's enough people like me to get me rich.
That's why I tell people, if you stutter, there are enough people that stutter in this world to get you rich. If you're butt ugly, there are enough people that are butt ugly in this world to get you rich. They connect with it. I'm not trying to connect with everyone. A lot of people think I talk too fast, that's fine.
I have one guy from Michelangelo, I love him to death, but you talk too fast, can you connect me with someone on your team? And I did. I didn't take it all to heart. I'm just trying to get the means of this world. I think too many people try to get everybody in the world.
Just get the means. There's enough people just like you to get rich. So that, I do, but yeah, I only do power network. I don't do anything else. I don't believe in anything else.
I believe it's like a fusion. I believe, to be honest with you, I believe that. Input stuff like corporate America. I mean, who am I to kick everyone out? Because, you know, I've been online for seven years, man.
I've been online for seven years. I've tried it. I'm 48 years old, Dave. I ain't got time. I got time to start over every 90 days.
Well, let me ask you this then, because, you know, and I agree with you, by the way. I've been always one of these people that's always, I've always only promoted one thing. You know, I've always had, in the past I had a couple of affiliate tools, but they were affiliate tools to aid in the building the one thing that I was promoting. And so I've always been the same there. So you're promoting one thing and you're focused, which does produce a different result than promoting multiple stuff from a team building perspective.
It's not that Empower Network is going to get mad at people for promoting lots of stuff. We just don't. But what it does do is it gives a reflection on what's working to keep people around. I also noticed something that your team just has a higher than average amount of retention. I actually, like, went and I looked at your numbers, and I think that your retention is like double the average retention or something like that in Empower Network.
And that's also a side effect of just being focused with a message and being focused and consistent all the time. Let me ask you something else, Michelangelo. You know, what's really, why are you doing this? What's really driving you and motivating you to put in the work that you're putting in to get these results? What is it that really pumps you up?
I remind myself every day. I remind myself every day. You know, I come from a background where I'm a preacher's kid, and my dad was not a megachurch preacher. You know, I joke around in my webinars saying, you know, we grew up with, you know, generic brands of cereal. We didn't have Tony the Tiger.
We had Timmy the Tiger, and Timmy the Tiger didn't roar, you know. So I grew up watching my dad work hard, you know, building a church and everything, building something and all that. So now, I mean, there are so many ways. I look outside in the morning, and I see people going to work. It's like in my, you know, I live in a big community.
And at 8 o'clock in the morning, you can see the garage doors going up with people going out. Like, we're about 5 o'clock that evening, the same garage doors open up, people come in. There are so many ways to work harder. We just pulled our kids from the public school that don't teach you jack, right, and put them into a home school here. And we wouldn't be able to do that if we didn't work from home.
You know, it was harder. I see people, I'm in Florida. The problem is this. Empower, I'm not just saying this. Empower Network is so damn easy if you just focus on Empower Network to get people in the funnel.
Because I said this before, in Miami, I wanted to see the power of the Empower Network emails go out. You didn't even know it. You worked for me that week. That's crazy. I mean, that's like, you're like, oh, my gosh, it worked.
People don't understand how much y'all from you and David Sharp promote to help us, the people that we get in the funnel, upgrade and everything else. When I first started, I wasn't selling out. You know, I was the hot dog guru and thinking I'm all that. When I started plugging into the Empower Hour and everything else, things started changing. You know, I was Googling.
I was trying to research someone, an entrepreneur who purchased, who tried to build a Burger King and a McDonald's at the same time, and I couldn't find a single example. You can't. It takes too much inner energy to focus. Human beings can't do that, man. Once you have one, that's fine, but trying to do more than one business opportunity is equivalent to trying to do a McDonald's and a Burger King at the same time and make it successful.
You'll fail. It's a waste of energy, man. We're ADD, man. We can't barely focus on one thing, let alone try to do other things. Does that make sense?
Yeah, it makes a lot of sense. I've actually found, and this is what I've learned, and I want to be clear in this because sometimes people hear this and they think I'm knocking them or whatever. Guys, if you're on the call, what you do is up to you. It really is. You can do what you want.
We're not going to kick you out. We're going to be here for you. Here's what it is saying, though, and here's what I think matters. I want you guys to understand this because it does matter. What we are saying is that the people who really have the ability to build lots of things have big segmented lists.
They've been marketing for a long time. They've got an incredible level of skill, and when they were new, they didn't do that. They just didn't. You can't find exceptions to that of somebody that they started building 10 things at once and that's how they created their success because the truth is new people who try to do that go broke trying to do it. If you want to focus and you really want to get results, the way to get big results, massive results, and to keep those results moving is to build one thing at a time.
If you want to go later and build another big income, go build another big one. If you want to build another one, go build another one somewhere. I like what you said on your Facebook wall the other day. You said, I can't remember exactly what it was, but it was something like, yeah, I've got multiple income streams. It's called the viral blogging system, viral blogging academy, the inner circle.
It's called the Costa Rica mastermind intensive, the 15K formula, and the master's course. I've got six streams of income. You know what I'm saying? Focused people always win. One more thing here, and I've just noticed this about you, that you promote a little bit harder than some other people promote.
You also have an abnormal amount of people that sign up in your team. You just do. You've got a big list, but people in your team, I think you said you've got, what, 15% of your active list has bought a membership to a thousand? We've got 19%. Here it is.
My full list is 41,000. My active list, and I define as active because you set it up in Office Autopilot. Someone who's opened my email in the past 30 days, they go to an active list, right? That's 19,000. So I almost have 19% of my active list in Empower Network, because I'm about 40 or 38 away from reaching my 1800th personal in Empower Network.
So without getting into too much detail, because we don't want to get off track from what we're sharing here tonight, and this probably belongs in something more like the 15K formula, without getting into just a tremendous amount of how-to, I mean, how many times does somebody on your active list get an email from you every day? Like if they're on that active segmented part of your list, how many times do you get an email? And a lot of people are on different lists, too, so they may get more, but I email at least four to six times a day. Here's why. Here's why.
I treat the flesh, and this is why events are so powerful, because when you meet the flesh and blood behind the email that was first described to you, and they become real, now you're not treating each email like an email. You're treating them more like the flesh and blood they really are. So if they're my friends, I'm genuinely wanting to help them, but one of my close friends, Scott, I don't have to worry about, oh, I already knocked on his door today twice. I better not. He might get offended.
Maybe he's my friend. I'm trying to genuinely help him. I'm knocking on his door 105 times. If he doesn't want to answer, he doesn't answer. But he's not going to be unfriendly, right?
So I treat my list like that. You know, I rarely have any autoresponders in my messages. I have like two or three. That's it. The rest are me sitting in front of my computer thinking of things, talking, different ways of communicating, doing a video, and sending that broadcast.
Ninety-nine percent of my emails are broadcast because I'm sitting in my computer communicating to the flesh and blood behind it, because I know one thing. If I'm not in their inbox, Dave Wood and Dave Sharp and Tony Rush and Tracy Walker and Justin, all of them are going to be in their inbox. So I'm going to go in. I'm going to make sure I'm in their inbox. The people that aren't subscribed, we're never, ever going to buy anything from you.
The fact is I subscribe to everyone, because let me share something with you. For those who don't have that much money to buy courses or whatever, subscribe to all the gurus and just watch them. The other day, I copied a subject line that was like my best opening rate to date from a copied email from someone I subscribe to. So I subscribe to everyone. I mean, yeah, I email four or six times a day, because I want, our site is out of mind.
And I've had so many people say, Michael, one guy's email goes, Michael Andrews, man, okay, you beat me down. Where's that link? And he signed up. These are, I've trained people. The emails, the flesh and blood, man, they're hurting.
They need help. The only reason you would get a bunch of people getting frustrated that you email so much is if you're emailing the same old thing every week every week. Create a new group. put it up somewhere and blast it to them. That is what I do every day.
99% of my e-mails are neat e-mails that I create on the go. Okay. All right. So you are not afraid to e-mail your list. That is cool.
We are going to get some more training on that in a little bit. But overall, I wanted to congratulate you. I don't have the amounts of the prize pools right in front of me. I suppose I should have done that before the call. But we will shoot them out in the e-mail.

On how I collect e-mails, I just want to say this. Because whether people pay for advertising like solo ads, I think the biggest mistake people do is when they pay for advertisement, they expect to get signed up in Power Network overnight. Let me share this with you. Those 59, 60 people that joined me this week, they have been on the list a little bit. I didn't go out and spend a lot of money on solo ads.
I buy solo ads. I buy traffic. I do free advertising for one reason. To collect that e-mail, knowing that it takes about six or seven times exposure from Dave Sharp, Dave Wood, from me and everything before they say, you know what, it's like any other business. Six or seven times and they convert.
So that's one thing I see that people make a mistake on. They get frustrated because they buy advertising and do free advertising and they don't convert right away. The people are going to convert if you establish a relationship with them. I pay for advertising to collect the e-mail to know that we established a relationship for them to convert. That's the biggest thing.

I mean, Michael Anzalo, I was actually just sitting here just listening to him on the call and I was getting excited because the things that he was talking about were coming from somebody who's building in trenches right now. And so many times in so many different companies that I've been in and so many different just deals, I guess for the lack of a better term that I've been around, you've got so many different just theories and concepts and people talking about things who haven't built something in a long time. And a lot of it just doesn't really apply.
I'm going to talk about that here a little bit tonight because I want you guys, I want to tell a couple of stories of some things that happened to me that are almost a little bit embarrassing. They make me look very, very vulnerable. But I want to share them with you guys because I think that it's really going to help you guys understand what is going to create the most impact in your business. And I'm telling you guys, it's simple and if you're on here and you're brand new, then you can do this. You can do anything that you put your mind to.
I want you to realize that if you're building this business or you're here just trying to succeed, maybe you're here because you've plugged into one of our training calls because you are doing something else and you've come here for the training, you've come here for the culture, for the leadership, for the inspiration. I want to tell you that you can do it and you may be brand new to this. A lot of people, and I want you to realize and remember this if you're building a team too, that the majority of the people in your team are going to be new. And even if they aren't new, they're going to be new to the process because they have never gotten past that initial stage of their business. So for many of us, we get into this place in building this business to where we want to try to overcomplicate things because we've been doing it for a couple of months.
We've been doing it for a couple of years. And we forget what it's like to be brand new. We forget what it's like to keep it simple. And our message becomes diluted and our message becomes overcomplicated. And we start to mix and mumble and jumble and mishmash all of these complicated concepts.
And the truth is that this business is extremely simple. And it's so simple, in fact, I'm not going to say it's easy, but it's simple. It's so simple, in fact, that the only thing that you need to do when you build this business is remember how you built and did anything that you succeeded in life. I want you to think about how you became a good parent. Maybe you're a mom or a dad.
How you became good at your job. Everybody on this call has had a job at one time or another. And the majority of you who are on this call probably have jobs right now. I want you to think about how you became good at that job. I want you to think about right now as I'm talking because I'm going to install something into you on this call that is going to make you realize that you can do this and that it's actually a lot more simple than you thought it was.
I want you to think about right now something that you were really, really, really good at. Whether, again, whether it's a job that you did in the past. Maybe it's a job that you're doing right now. Maybe it's something in your community. Maybe it's something that you do as a hobby.
Maybe you're a craftsman. Maybe you build puzzles. Maybe you're a gamer. Maybe you're somebody who does something else on the computer or something else with software. Maybe you take pictures.
I want you to think about how you became good at that thing. I want you to think about how you became successful at that. And I want you to remember what that took. I want you to remember how you maybe were trying to look for shortcuts and really surrendered to the fact that you just had to put in the work. And I want you to realize that this is no different than that.
The only thing is it's a different platform. Some of you are a little bit older. Maybe you're baby boomers. You're coming into this business and you're saying, holy crap, all this internet stuff just scares me. And that's okay.
And if you're scared, if you're overwhelmed, if you're frustrated, I want you to realize that you're exactly where you're supposed to be. I want you to realize that what you're going through right now is building you up to become the person and the leader that you were meant to be. And I want you to realize that nobody comes through the back door. There are no side doors in this thing. Everybody has to come through the front door.
Everybody has to come through the same door to get to the top. There are no shortcuts up to the top of the mountain. Dave was talking about how we started this company. And I can tell you that it was not easy. It was not overnight.
We worked our butts off day and night. And it's the same thing that I did when we started this company that I did when I first got started on the internet. And many of you know that story. I'm not going to tell it tonight because you've probably heard it before. But I'm going to tell you that I can remember being up at 2 and 3 o'clock in the morning.
I can remember sometimes being up later than that. Aaron would walk out into the living room. And at that time, we had a fairly small house. So my computer was set up like literally right in the middle of the living room. Like if you came out and you were walking from the living room or a bedroom into the kitchen, you would pass by my desk.
And I don't know if you can relate to that. Maybe you can relate to it right now. But that was just the amount of room that we had in our house. And I had my desk like literally right where a dining room table would go. And we just didn't eat on a dining room table.
We ate on maybe a TV tray or a coffee table. Because at that time, me building a business and me having a dream and me getting to where I wanted to go was more important than that. Now I went through this phase where I was working construction. And it came a point in time to where I came to a place where I didn't have any more work. I had gone out.
And I'll tell you an interesting story. I had gone out and I was trying to branch out from my dad. Because many of you know my story that I came from really struggling personally with drugs and alcohol and being homeless to living with my dad. He let me sleep on his couch. And I basically lived together for the next year, year and a half, two years.
And he started taking me on construction sites. And as I continued to grow personally, I said, hey, shoot, I've got a dream. Like I want to be something. I want to be somebody in this world. I've got a message that I want to share.
I don't really know if people are going to listen or not. And I don't really know if I'm going to be able to impact people the way that I dream of. But I'm going to give it a try. And I know that you've probably thought about something like that before. And that's probably why you're in this business.
But I branched out and I said, hey, dad, I love you and I thank you so much for your help and your support and helping me get back on my feet. But I'm going to cut the umbilical cord and I'm going to go out and I'm going to try to get some jobs on my own. And so I went out and I found this guy Dave. And I found him on a Craigslist ad and he said, hey, I need some help flipping this house. So I went out and I applied to the job.
And he said, yeah, come on over and you can help me. You can help me, you know, flip, you know, do this house, remodel this house. So I went out and I bought a truck. And the truck that I bought was an old 1990 Ford F-150. You've heard me talk about this before.
It was the one I had to start with a screwdriver. I would pop the trunk or the hood and I would stick a screwdriver in the solenoid. Sparks would fly everywhere. But it was my pride and joy. So I went to this job.
I helped him flip this house. I helped him remodel it. And then at the end of the job, he came up to me and he said, Dave, here's your last paycheck. I appreciate your help. And he let me go.
And I was heartbroken. I went back to my dad. I said, dad, it was good while it lasted, but I'm back. He said, all right, son, let's go back to work. We did one more job.
We didn't have any more work after this job. We came to the place where I had a couple of thousand dollars in my pocket. It was more money than I'd had in a long time. And I said, you know what? I have got to do something different.
I've got to, I've got to commit to something. I'm either going to do something now or I'm going to continue in the cycle of living paycheck to paycheck and building somebody else's dream. And at that point, it wasn't really even my dad, but I was definitely stuck in that mentality of working a nine to five and not really ever getting ahead. Literally settling for less surviving in life, not thriving in life. And I had been building my business on the internet for a while.
I'd been through some challenges, some companies shut down. I'd been through some situations that were really frustrating. And I was doing it kind of part time. I was dipping my toe. I was doing it at night and working until three and four o'clock in the morning and then getting up and going to work at eight o'clock in the morning.
And I finally came to this place in my life to where I didn't have any more work to, to go to. There was no more jobs. And I made a decision in that moment that I was going to focus a hundred percent on my business. And I'm going to tell you what I did over the course of the next three months is I didn't just focus a hundred percent. I focused 25 hours a day.
Every sleeping and waking, just whether I was conscious or subconscious, I was thinking about my business. I was thinking about what I could do next. If I wasn't working, if I was away, then I was thinking about it. Now, I wouldn't recommend quite that much of a focus because it really, it really did some damage on my relationships because I was ignoring my family. But my friends, I had a dream.
And what I told my family was I said, you know what, over the next 90 days, I'm going to be so focused right now. I'm going to be so committed to my vision and what I'm doing that you guys are just going to have to realize that I'm going to be probably not as present as I usually am. And I said, I need you guys to support. And I tell you, I went to work. I went to work to an extent that I'll never forget.
I was up. I wasn't taking a lot of showers. And I know the thought of that is just stinky. And I wasn't eating a lot of food. I was just, just, all I was doing was focusing and working.
But that is what I had to do to be able to get my business from point A to point B. And I didn't get from point A to point B. It was just that catalyst that I needed at the very beginning to get started. Now, the funny thing was, was that guy, Dave, he let me go. Probably a month, month and a half ago, I was buying a new truck.
Now, I got addicted to Range Rovers because it's just a good SUV. So, Erin, she had a woman pull out in front of her probably about two months ago. She was on her way to Justin, Justin Berenji and Dee Berenji's house. And I was at the D.C. event.
And somebody pulled out in front of her and she wrecked our last SUV. So, I was at the Range Rover dealership. And I look across the room. And I did a double take because it was the guy, Dave, that I worked for back in the day who fired me from that construction job. And I walked over to Dave.
And I said, hey, Dave, do you remember me? My name is also Dave. He goes, no, it doesn't really ring a bell. Tell me where I know you from. I said, I worked on that house and remodeled that house with you back several years ago.
And we only did one because you let me go. And he said, oh, wow, I can't believe that I'm seeing you now. It's been so long. How are you doing? I said, well, I'm doing really good.
And I'm also here buying a truck. And I was buying a truck that was about three years newer than his. And I was paying cash for it. And he was financing his. The moral of the story, guys, is that when you focus and make bold decisions, you can do anything.
When you commit and you go to work, anything is possible. If you would have asked me back several years ago when I was getting fired from that construction job, driving an old truck, that I had to start with a screwdriver, if I'd be seeing the guy who hired and fired me off of a construction job several years later in a Range Rover dealership when I was paying cash for a 2013 truck, I'd have told you hell no. Because I couldn't even see it. I couldn't even see my own dreams. I knew that I wanted to do something, but I couldn't see past where I was at that moment in life.
And what I'm going to tell you on this call tonight, guys, is that what is possible for you is bigger than you even know. It's bigger than you can even imagine. If you had told me back several years ago when I was just grinding through my business, when I was not knowing if what I was doing was going to yield results, I'm telling you, I can remember thinking, man, I don't really know if this is going to pan out. Maybe I should go back to work in construction. And I'm telling you guys, it was just one more day, one more thing that kept me in the game, that kept me focused building my business in the trenches.
Now, there's a reason why Dave and I are also affiliates of this company. When we started this company, we said, hey, we're not going to be company owners that are going to turn into some big dumb company because we just want to build a company and we want to, you know, start it for the sake of starting a company. We were having the same challenges in each one of our teams. We had people who were failing, who couldn't succeed. There were systems that weren't working, marketing materials that didn't convert, products we didn't think had impact, sales and company owners who just, you know, were dishonest and controlling.
And we said, hey, you know what? We want to do something for our teams to help them really start getting results and having impact. But we're going to do it alongside of them. And the irony and the funny part of that story was when we started building the company, we were paying for the company out of our affiliate commissions because we were grinding every single day in the trenches along with everybody else. And about a month and a half into the whole deal, we said, holy crap, this is expensive as hell.
We had hundreds of thousands of dollars in company fees, in operating costs that we had to invest, and it was all coming out of our own pocket from our affiliate commissions. And that's when we instituted an affiliate fee and started to try to generate some company revenue. But over the course of the last two and a half years, we have absolutely done everything that we can to help you have success in a way that you've never been able to before, and me either. I've never had an opportunity like this before, and it's not only changed so many people's lives around the world, but it's changed my life too. But here's the scary part, and for those of you who have had success or are having success on the call tonight, I'm going to talk to you for a second because I was talking to a guy, and I've had this happen a couple of times over the course of the last couple of weeks.
I was talking to a guy who was at one time a multi, multi, multi-million dollar earner inside of this industry, multi-million dollar earner. And he messaged me and he said, Dave, he said, would you pay my way into the company and make me a master distributor and then loan me money, and I'll pay you back out of my commissions over the course of the next couple of months. And I said, listen, friend, and I'm not going to say his name just to protect his identity. I said, listen, friend, first of all, I can't do it because we've never given anybody a free position here in power. Never.
It's against the code of ethics and integrity that we set for this company when we first launched it. Dave and I said to each other, we're going to build this business just like everybody else. We're going to hold everybody else accountable for the same things that we hold ourselves accountable for, and we are going to build this thing with ethics and integrity and know we're not perfect, and yes, we've made mistakes, and yes, we've failed in areas, and yes, we've tested some things that haven't worked, and yes, we've fell short not only in business but also in our personal lives because we're human beings just like you are who have feelings and struggles and deal with the same issues on a daily basis. But we have integrity, and integrity is doing the right thing when nobody's looking. Integrity is not doing the right thing when everybody's looking.
Integrity is doing the right thing when nobody's looking, and that's the most important thing that you can have in your life and in your business. And this guy said, hey, Dave, listen, I don't want anybody to know, but this is the situation I'm going through, and I need you to loan me some money and buy my way into the business. And I said, listen, I can't do it. Number one, just because I've never done it for anybody, and I've had a lot of gurus come to me, and they say, hey, Dave, would you just give me a free position, and I'll come in, and I'll blow it up, and I say, no, I'm sorry, I can't do that, and you know what? They don't join, and I'm okay with that because I want to honor the people who have come into this business and this company who have paid their way and paid their dues by buying products and investing in their education.
But I said, hey, listen, before we go, because I know that obviously you don't have the money right now, and you're probably going to go look for somebody who's going to pay your way and loan you some money so you can get, you know, do whatever you need to do. You know, that brings up an interesting point, though, too. Sometimes we live beyond our means, right? It's an interesting thing to talk about. We could probably have a call on that, right?
But I said, hey, listen, let me ask you one question before I let you go, and I want you to be honest, and I want you to just give it to me right. No judgment here. I just want to know for my own personal sake. I said, how did you go from where you were at making millions and millions and millions of dollars a year to come in here in this situation not having any money left, not being able to afford your way into a business or start a business and get back on your feet? What was the reason?
What was the reason? And he said, Dave, I'm going to be honest with you because I like you and we've been friends for a long time. He said, the honest, he said, the BS answer is, is that, you know, I just lived a lavish life and I just, you know, I went out there and I, I, I was, had too many bills and too many cars and I was living a good life and that's still a little bit embarrassing, but I'll tell you the honest answer is that I got away from the basics. I got away from the things that got me to where I'm at. I stopped doing the things that I did in the beginning of me building this business.
I stopped doing the weekly calls. I stopped writing the emails. I stopped getting out there on the stage and leading the field and leading the team. I forgot where I came from and because I didn't do it for so long, I forgot what it took. I forgot what even got me to where I'm at.
By the time that happened, I didn't even know how to get back to where I once was. And that's the honest answer and I said, I appreciate your honesty because that teaches me a lesson and that also makes me take a look at where I've been wrong and where I've made mistakes in my own life and my business. I had a guy who, because a lot of you know about my history with, you know, drugs and alcohol and, and struggling with addiction for a long time, which by the way, I've now been able to put together and I just celebrated seven years clean and sober on February 3rd of this month. But I had a guy, he had 25 years clean and I just saw him the other night. 25 years clean.
One of the most famous guys in, in, in my, in my county, in my city. He had more respect, he, he, he, he was just really, really a guru. Really somebody who, who a lot of people looked up to because of what he'd been able to accomplish, not only in his life, but also obviously with his recovery. And he relapsed and I saw him and I asked him the same question. I said, what happened?
He said, I got away from the things that I did when I first got clean. See, when you first come into this business or you first start doing something in life, it doesn't matter what it is, you always do specific things and you're willing to go that extra mile. You're willing to get on the call every week or every day. You're willing to do three-way calls. You're willing to go in and I'm not saying that you should do three-way calls.
I'm just saying that I want you to think about what got you to where you're at. And if you're sitting there on the other end of the phone and you're beating yourself up saying all my results are not good enough, I want you to just stop that right now and realize that you're exactly where you're supposed to be and the results that you're getting right now are a direct result and in direct proportion to the effort and the things that you're doing inside of your business and it's all you've got to do is make some simple changes. Maybe you've got to go back to basics. Maybe you're somebody whose income was really high and you just stopped doing the things that you did when you initially started building your business. Maybe if you're sitting on this line and you've been wondering why you haven't been succeeding in your business right now, the reason why is because you're not doing what you did when you were successful in that thing that I had you think about at the beginning of the call.
When you become successful at something, you do specific things in the template, in the format, in the solution or the formula is always the same. It's keeping it simple, it's working your ass off, it's doing whatever it takes, it's not making excuses, it's persevering, it's getting up when you get knocked down, it's when people come up to you and say, you know what, you're crazy for doing that. You say, you know what, you're crazy for telling me that I'm crazy because I'm going to do this and I'm going to succeed and I'm going to get rich or whatever it is. You persevere through the scrutiny and the criticism and the negativity because you have a dream and a vision because you know you're going somewhere and you're going to do whatever it takes to get there. You know, when I was getting clean, my friend, I'm going to tell you something.
I worked my ass off to get clean because I had came from dope holes and streets and corners and places that most people wouldn't even dream or wish for their worst enemy. And I walked in and when I was in that bathroom in that laundry room six years ago with a needle hanging out of my arm, I'm going to tell you something. I knew that I did not want to live that life anymore, but I knew it was going to take me to do some things to get out of that situation and I knew I was going to have to work my ass off. I knew I was going to have to stop making excuses. I knew that I was going to have to stop having to blame everything on everybody else.
I was so good at pointing the finger at everybody else and saying, you know what, the reason why, where I'm at, is your fault because you did something. And you know what? The truth of the matter was when I finally had enough guts and balls to look at myself in the mirror, I really admitted and owned up to the fact that where I was exactly because of me. It wasn't because of anybody else. It was because of me.
It was because of the decisions that I made. It was because of the things that I did or didn't do. And so when I got clean, and the things that I've done to stay clean over the last six years are the same exact things that we did to build this business. The same exact thing that Dave and I did to become top ten earners in the entire world. Same things that we did with our leaders and with you to be able to take this company to a hundred million dollars in sales over the last two and a half years.
The same thing that we did to bring in over 200,000 customers. Guys, this is not easy. It's not easy. It may just be potentially the hardest thing that you ever do in your entire life. It may just be, but it's going to be the most worthwhile thing that you ever do in your entire life.
You have an opportunity right now to make some decisions. You have some opportunity right now to stand up. You have an opportunity right now to start pacing around your house and getting pumped up because you are in control of your destiny, and isn't that an empowering thing to realize? Isn't it empowering to think and realize that you are not in prison? Isn't it empowering to realize that your success or your failure is completely in your hands and it's nobody else's fault?
And not only can you not blame them, but also they can't take responsibility when you succeed. All of your haters, all of your critics, all of the people who are going to say, you know what, you shouldn't do that because you're crazy, that's a pyramid scheme and that's a scam and you shouldn't be screwing around. And isn't it empowering to realize that you're responsible for that and that you can determine that? Yes, if you plug into our system and you invest in our training and you go through, yes, we'll help you. Yes, we've got the best information courses in the entire marketplace.
And by the way, we're making those better. We're in the process of working with the most talented people in the world right now, some teams of people that I can't even say on the phone because it's so private, because they are so legitimate. To redo our products, to bring new products to marketplace, to bring products that we're going to ship out to people's houses, to elevate our game, to improve our offerings, to make our products more valuable, to give you guys different options out in the marketplace, to take what Michelangelo is doing, and Justin Brangie is doing, and Vic's doing, and take it and systematize it and teach it to you, so you can not only learn it, but also take it out into the marketplace. We are doing that behind the scenes, but the ultimate, the ultimate determining factor of your success is going to be you. And I'm going to tell you something.
You can either look at that, and the reason why my message is a little bit strong tonight is because I'm going to tell you something. I've seen a lot of people over the course of the last year rely too much on systems. They rely too much on everybody else doing the work for them. I'm going to tell you something, and it's going to be you who determines your future. It's going to be you who determines your destiny.
It's going to be you who determines your paycheck. You have the ability as an entrepreneur to write your own paycheck. You have the ability to be able to literally write and put the amount in the check and sign it and give it to yourself. I want you to visualize what that really means right now, that every week you get to take the paycheck out and you get to put your name in it and write the amount in there and determine how much money you want to cash a check for. That's the life of an entrepreneur.
That's the life of somebody who takes responsibility. That's the life of somebody who says, you know what, I'm going to do this no matter what. I don't care what anybody says. I don't care if my damn dog doesn't believe in me. I'm going to do it.
I don't care if I don't believe in me either, because you know what, I'm going to get around these guys. I'm going to get on this Empower Hour call. I'm going to plug into the Inner Circle Audio, and I'm going to have people, force people to feed me inspiration and believe in me until I can believe in myself. I am going to do that. I'm going to tell you something, my friend.
If you saw how much I invested in myself, it would make you sick. You'd wonder how in the hell I travel all over the world, whether it be on vacation or business, how I help run this company, how I help lead and facilitate a sales organization of 30,000 people, how I help lead my own team, how I also produce in the field in the trenches, how I'm in backdoor business deals doing things that most people never even realize for this company, for this movement, and for people out there, and how I'm still able, still able to execute the way I do, and at the same time, invest in my personal development. I invest more than anybody that I know. Why? Because I believe that the leadership is determined, or excuse me, the speed of the path is determined by the leader.
I believe that the most powerful and profitable skill set that you can acquire is leadership. It is. So many people want to focus on all of the wrong things, like a ludicrous song said one time, looking for love in all of the wrong places. For some of you baby boomers, you may not know who that is, but it's a rapper out of Atlanta. I don't listen to rap 24-7, but when I hear a good line, I remember it, and that's a good line.
You're looking for love in all of the wrong places. Look, what I liked hearing about Michelangelo tonight was, you know what, he wasn't afraid to say, hey, you know what, I pick up the phone. I call people. I email people four to six times. I want to be in front of them.
I want to treat people like people. I don't want to treat them like numbers. I don't want to wait for the automated autopilot sales that just come in and I don't have to do anything. Guys, get in the game. Get in the game.
There's a game going on right now. It's called life. It's called business, and it's happening with or without you. It's happening with or without you right now. Get in the game.
Get off the bench. You have an opportunity to make an impact. You have an opportunity to tell your story. You have an opportunity to go out there and change somebody's life. You have an opportunity to make more money than you've ever made in your entire life.
Your family deserves it. Get your ass off of the bench and get in the game, my friend. I'm going to say something. It's exciting in the game. It's exciting on the court.
You're slam dunking. You're shooting three-pointers. You're passing a teammate. You've got a team of people around you. It's exciting.
It's invigorating. It's thrilling. It's inspirational. Get inspired to get in the game. Do something that your kids can look at you and say, I'm proud of that son of a bitch.
I'm proud of him. Do something that your wife looks at you and says, woohoo, that man's sexy. He's getting something tonight. Do something in your life and with your life that you can be proud of, my friend. I'm going to tell you something.
There's a difference between your dream and your destiny. My dream was to be a millionaire in network marketing and I hit it and I realized it wasn't my destiny. My destiny is to go out there and impact people and change lives. It's to take my message, my inspiration, my passion and go out there and inject it into somebody and help them believe for maybe the first time in a long time or maybe ever that they can do whatever it is that they want to do in life. You also have a destiny and if you ain't getting results in your business, it's because you ain't tapped into that thing.
You ain't tapped into your destiny. You ain't tapped into your passion. You've got to tap. It's a homeless heroin addict who ran the streets for 10 years and had to adopt my daughter when I was 16 years old. All of the odds were against me.
All of the people said I couldn't do it. Some of my family and a lot of my friends gave up on me. I'd come around, I'd pull up in whatever car I was driving that week and they'd just look at me and they'd shake their head. I can remember going in front of judges and having teachers look at me and just shake it. I got out one time and I had a guy, I went into a treatment center and I got out and I had a probation officer and he shook his head and he said, I can't believe you're out.
And I made it my purpose in life to prove them wrong. I made it my purpose in life to prove me wrong because I started to believe that stuff about me. I started to believe that I couldn't do it. I started to believe that I wasn't capable and I had to get around some people who believed in me. My friends, I'm going to tell you something, one of the most valuable things that you may have in this community is coming to our event.
One of the most powerful things that you have is to be able to tap into this group of people because life ain't easy, friends. Life ain't easy. You've got the dogs barking and the kids screaming, you've got relationship issues, you've got other things that you're dealing with, you probably got a job right now, you've got a boss that you hate, you've got a car that just won't stop taking a shit all over the driveway when you come home and you park it overnight, you've got a toilet that won't stop leaking and running, you've got a baby who needs diapers, you've got a mortgage payment that needs paid, you've got a car payment that needs paid and by the time you pay it, you realize the damn gas tank is empty again. That's life. It's already hard enough.
You've got to tap into this community of people who will believe in you and I'm going to tell you something, we believe in you. Why? Because we've been there. I know what it's like. I tell stories and most of the time I tell them because they impacted me.
I told that story earlier about that guy who got away from basics because I can relate to it. I can relate to getting out of that basics mode. I can relate to overcomplicating things. I can relate to letting my ego get in the way of my bank account. I'm a human being.
I'm okay with that today. I'm okay with being vulnerable in front of you. My friends, right now I'm facing a health issue and I'm going to be shooting a video about this but I'll let you know right now I'm facing a health issue. When I was out and I was in the streets, I was a heroin addict and unfortunately I shared needles and I have Hepatitis C and I'm going to tell you something, friends. I've had it for a while now and if I don't get it fixed, it will eventually kill me and I've got to get that fixed.
I've got to go on treatment. I've been avoiding treatment now for several years because I've known about it for several years and I've got to go on treatment and if I go on treatment, I can get cured but I've got to face it. I've got to deal with it. I've got to deal with my past. I've got to face my issues.
I've got to let people know. I've got to stand up and talk about things, realizing that I have influence, whether it be over one person or a million people. I have influence. I have the power to change people's lives. So do you.
I choose to be today a voice of inspiration. I choose to be somebody who has a voice of purpose. I choose to not let my own fears get in the way of not only my destiny but also yours. I choose to use what I'm going through today for a vehicle of goodwill, of inspiration, of passion, to not only inspire my family, my daughter, but also to inspire you so you can be better for your kids. Somebody needs to hear your message too.
Somebody needs you to work your ass off so you can be on stage so people will listen to you. Somebody needs you to get 59 pills so you can get on a call and tell them like Michelangelo did to work their ass off. Somebody needs you to face your challenges, your health issues, your past issues, your laziness, your excuse making, your irresponsibility. Somebody needs you to stand up and, you know what, here's the good news, it's never too late. It's never too late because your past does not equal your future.
What you do right now is what matters. I'm in a place right now to where I'm more connected with my purpose and my destiny than I've ever been in my entire life and I want to tell you that it's possible for you too. I want to tell you that I wasn't always like this. I wasn't even like this six months ago. It took enough pain.
We went hard and fast. We built this company with a bunch of the best people in the world and we put a lot of people, sold a lot of products. We went hard and fast. People criticized us but we just kept working. We didn't stand up and argue back with the haters and the critics.
We didn't take time to argue with the nimrods on Facebook. We didn't take time to listen to the people who didn't believe in us. We kept our head down and we kept working. We kept working. And I'm going to tell you something, I collapsed about five or six months ago, maybe a little bit less than that.
We went through a launch and it was just work all around the clock and I collapsed and I said, Dave, it's time for you to really recognize what your destiny is. It's time for you to start working smart. It's time for you to step back and take a look at what you're really good at. A lot of you are doing things in your business that you're forcing things that you're not good at. I had a couple of guys down the other day and I was just talking to them, doing a little conversation.
I'm not even going to say it's coaching, but I'm always teaching. That's just my personality. And I said, you know, 95% of people are trying to force themselves in to doing things that is not their purpose. It's not what they're good at. What do I mean by that?
Maybe you're an artist. Maybe you're somebody who is very artistic. You're not doing this for the money. You're just doing it because you love it. I love making money, but I'm not doing this for the money.
Trust me. And I'm not going to go into details on this call, but if I was just in this thing for money, I would have done things a lot different than I did them over the last two years. Dave and I both, we'd have emailed our list, we'd have emailed the company list with different, you know, all kinds of different stuff. I didn't, I didn't, shit, there could have been a million things that I could have done to make more money. But my dream was your dream.
My dream was to help you succeed. So a lot of people are out there doing things that are not their primary core competency. Maybe you're somebody who, like I said, is an artist. You don't, you want to inspire people. You want to talk, but you're behind the computer every single day focusing on just complicated tech stuff.
Stop doing that, just get your message out there, shoot a video and put it on your blog, shoot a video and put it on Facebook. Stop trying to sit behind your computer. I'm giving you permission right now to step into your purpose. Maybe you're somebody who is more of an operational person. You want to go out there and you want to or you're good at doing technical stuff.
You're good at SEO and all of these, you know, really cool technical things that I'm not very good at. Every time somebody comes and they hang around me, I can't hardly open my computer. I have problems syncing up my calendars. You know, Apple is the most amazing product but it drives me crazy because I get confused about it every time. Because it's not what I'm good at.
I'm okay with that. I don't need to be good at everything. If you're somebody who's got a message, just hold your damn phone up to you and get your freaking message out. Stop trying to be a perfectionist. There's somebody right now who's wanting to sign up with you, who wants to work with you, who wants to be inspired by you and you're robbing them because you're not in your purpose.
Get into your purpose right now. Get in the game. Guys, I'm going to tell you something. I believe in you in a way that I've never believed before. I believe that for a long time that big things are possible.
But I was believing on faith and now I've seen it. I've got actual evidence. I've seen rooms full of 3,000 and 4,000 and 5,000 people, inspired, tears coming out of their face. I've seen people up on stage who would have never been on stage anywhere else. People in the crowd, excited, pumped up, changing their lives, doing things that they just didn't think were possible.
I've seen people on Facebook sharing results. I've had phone calls and emails and Facebook private messages about people telling me their testimonials and their stories. And I've got the evidence now that it's possible. I'm not just hyping. This ain't fucking hype, guys.
This is passion because I believe in you. I believe that it's possible because I have the evidence that you can do it. So let's do it. Let's get out there and build something that we've never built before. Let's make what we've done before look small.
Let's take our business to the next level. Let's elevate our game. Let's do something that people didn't think was possible. Let's silence the haters. Let's silence the voices inside of your head that continue to tell you that you're not good enough and you can't do it.
Because I'm going to tell you something. It's not everybody else you need to be worried about. It is not everybody else that you need to be worried about. It is not everybody else that you need to be worried about. It's you.
It's you need to be worried about. You're the one who's going to talk yourself out of this. You're the one who's going to keep yourself off the leaderboards. You're the one who's going to keep yourself off the stage. You're the one who's going to keep yourself in poverty and live paycheck to paycheck.
You're the one who's going to keep yourself in that vicious cycle of regrets and that self-destructive pattern of continuing to try the same thing over and over again expecting different results. You are going to do that. Why can I say that so just – Why can I say that just so on purpose? I have no compunction with that. Why?
Because I was that person. I was that person. I was that guy. I was that guy who almost didn't believe. I was that guy who almost talked myself out of it.
I was that guy who almost blamed it on the system, not only the technical system, but also the system of the United States of America. And at the end of the day, do you know what the truth is? None of that has anything to do with my results today. Not a damn thing. You know what has to do with my results today?
Me. Same for you, my friend. You have got this. You have got this. You can do this.
It is your time. It is your time to do this. And I believe in you in a way that I have not believed before, in a way that's so big. My vision can fit your vision. And if you don't believe yet, believe that I believe, my friend, because it is possible in a way that you've never even imagined it possible before.
And there are things that can happen. Traveling the world, experiencing foods, experiencing cultures, traveling on first-class planes, sometimes even private jets, driving the cars that you want to drive, having money in your bank accounts where you never have to worry about what you eat, you never have to worry about what you spend. You can get your wife or your husband whatever they want, whatever they desire. You can give your children a life that they never imagined. You can give your children a life that they never could have even imagined while also at the same time teaching them the power of a dollar.
You can stay humble. You can be powerful. You can be inspirational. And at the end of the day, the most important thing is that you can build a business and have a life at the same time. You can build business.
You can achieve your results. You can have success, and you can become a better person. You can learn how to share your message and your inspiration. You can learn how to tell your story. You can learn how to realize that all of your liabilities are not actually your liabilities, but they're also your assets.
You can learn, realize, and remember that where you're at right now is exactly where you're supposed to be to write this chapter of your life so you can tell the story of your life to the next person that you get in front of and change their life. You're writing your book right now, and it's called life, my friend. You're in it. You're living it right now. Every single decision that you make is being inked down on paper for somebody to read, for somebody to remember, for somebody to read back to you, for you to read to somebody at the end of your life.
And, my friend, the question that I have for you is are you in your purpose, and are you doing everything that you can right now to take your business, your life to the next level? Because if you're not, my friend, it's time to get in the game, and it's time to get in the game. And I believe that it's your time. So with that being said, I don't know if you're on the call still, Dave, buddy. If you are, pop out here in the next couple of seconds, man.
Yeah, I'm here. All right, buddy. I am done. I am inspired, my friend. I wanted to tell you that I appreciate you, man, and that we have been through a lot together, and it has brought us to this place of peace and serenity and this place of purpose and passion to be able to stay and walk in our destiny, man.
And I just want to tell you that I appreciate you. If you're on this call tonight and you're somebody who's brand new, you've never heard of us, this is your first exposure. What I want you to do is I want you to put on your seatbelt. I want you to get ready for the ride of your life because I'm not going to show you and Dave's not going to show you over the course of the next couple of years how to just build a business. We're going to show you how to have a life.
We're going to show you how to step into your purpose. We're going to show you how to be somebody who builds a business that you can be proud of, somebody who builds a business that your kids and your family can be proud of. And for that reason, not for the success stories, not for the fact that we have and are going to be creating the most powerful and informative and impactful products in the marketplace or going to create 100 millionaires this year. It's not all of that. It's the fact that we're going to be teaching you and helping you and encouraging you as we are on this journey with you to become just better people, to leave a bigger impact on this world and to inspire more people.

And that's a message from Tatiana Torres who I was trying to bring out earlier. For whatever reason, she was muted, okay, and so she couldn't come out. She sent me an e-mail. She said, please say this for me because I can't unmute myself and we can't figure out how to bring her on. So she said, I'm honored to be here.
I had some technical issues. I didn't have a list and started from scratch. I'm only 23 years old and I'm only working here in Empower and I love it. This company changed my life forever. And the way I'm doing business, go all in and believe you can do it.
If a girl from Peru can do it, you can do it too. So she's actually from Peru. You know, she plays right up there. I can't remember what it was in the contest. I should look it up, but I can't refresh that screen right now.
It was like number two or number three or something like that. I believe number three. And, you know, Tatiana, just congratulations. You're doing wonderful things. And here's the beautiful thing, and this is what I'm going to end the note on here tonight, is the beautiful thing is that if you can produce a small amount of success, whatever that success is, it could be a sale.
It could be getting on the leaderboard this week, right? It could just be getting in the top to where you're on the list this week if you can't do anything else. You can do that. Anybody on the call could do that. I actually just sent out an e-mail with how to get on that list.
It's going to be based on our point system. And then next week, come back and get on the call because we're going to talk about, I believe, the prize amounts. I also sent out the prize amounts in the e-mail that I just sent out. I'll also post that on my Facebook wall. But, you know, here's the thing.
If you can just create some success, any success, you can create the next level of success. I've seen that again and again and again and again. It took me, and I want you to think about this if you're on this call. I've shared this in events. It took me six months of being involved in network marketing to sponsor my first person.
Six months of hitting the pavement, of wandering around. I mean, I didn't have the Internet then. I didn't know these strategies then. It took me six months to bring in my first person. Now, you wouldn't think, if you saw that, that would become one of the most prolific recruiters in network marketing history.
You just wouldn't assume it. You'd think, well, there's a failure. There's somebody who's never going to build a business. You know what I mean? It took me six months to get number one, my first person in.
Today, I average bringing in, with Dave Sharp, we work together, we average bringing in about ten people a day, which is, if you look over the course of a year, we sponsor a few thousand people a year. We're actually, we are actually right now still, maybe Michelangelo, he could actually pass this. I'm sure he wants to, but we're still the number one recruiters in Empower Network. David Sharp and I, just personally, this is our personal affiliate account. We're not talking about the company, okay?
So, if a guy can go from bringing in one person, his first person, in six months, to then sponsoring ten people a day, guys, any success that you have, I just want you to be thankful for it and realize what you can do. Now, Tatiana, she's an example of that. Twenty-three years old, she's living in Peru, and I wish I could pull up the numbers right now, but I can't on my computer for whatever reason. I actually got an email going out. I don't want to interfere with it, with the contest winners and things.
I think she sponsored twenty-something people just in the last week. Twenty-three years old. And here's what I'm going to tell you, Tatiana. If you can sponsor twenty people in a week, here's what I'm going to tell you. I'm going to tell you anything is possible for you.
And I'm going to tell you, you ain't seen nothing yet. And I'm going to tell you, you will pack rooms in Central and South America if you just keep doing it. Because we're going into Spanish, we're going into other languages, we're expanding around the world. And why are we doing that? We're doing it because we see a bigger vision.
We're doing it because we see a bigger purpose. So any success that you've had, that's what I want you to think about. That's what I want you to focus on. What have you done right? There's a great quote I saw on Facebook just a few weeks back, and it said, for the next twenty-four hours, I want you to only focus on what happened right in my life yesterday.
Here's the thing with success though, success builds success. Focusing on success builds more success. There's all kinds of reasons why we don't have time to get into. Focusing on success builds success. If you can't get on the number one spot this week, then just get on the leaderboards.
If you can't get in the number two spot this week, then just get in the top five. If you can't get in the top five, just get on the leaderboards and get enough points to qualify for the bonus pool and be recognized and have your name recognized on the Monday call next week. Get on the Monday call next week. Bring your team on the Monday call next week. Why?
Because we're going to be making some cool announcements this next week. This week I'm doing some cool things. I emailed you guys about it. I'm going to post it on my Facebook wall here in about five minutes once the email is out. I want you to do something with me, something with me.
This is what I want you to leave and to focus on and to think about, guys, is the inspiration you just heard from David Sharp, the passion in his voice, the conviction in his voice, the struggles that he's had and how he's overcome it, how he's willing to step back in there in the game and how he's willing, as a company owner, to get on these calls and to share his passion with you, how he's willing to reach down in the trenches with you and to run with you. I want you to do one thing with me this week, and here's what it is. Run with me for the next seven days. Look, sometimes you look at your life and you're like, well, I can't focus for long periods of time, but anybody here could focus for the next seven days on bringing in just a few more people. You could focus for the next seven days.
For the next seven days, you could promote only one thing. You could do whatever you want to after the next seven days. For the next seven days, you could bring in two people a day, and I promise every single one of you can do that. You can do it if you focus your energy. Sometimes people say, well, I can't do that, and you know what?
If there was an emergency and you had to do it to save your family, it'd be done. There'd be no question about it. There wouldn't be any excuses for it. You wouldn't say, I don't have the money. You wouldn't say, I don't have the time.
You wouldn't say, I don't know how to do it. You'd get it done. See, that's what our desire is to unlock inside of you on these calls. It's not to control you. It's not to say, hey, you have to do it this way, because we're not a normal company, guys.
We're not somebody who's sitting there trying to control what you do and trying to monitor everything and say, promote this and don't promote that, because you know what the truth is? I realize you're going to do whatever the heck it is that you want to do. This week, I'm actually going to be writing a manifesto, and we're going to be putting it out there in the marketplace just because we want to tell people what we're really all about and silence some of the bullshit that's going on. But you know what the truth is, guys, and you know what you really, really want to step into and really focus on this week is that this week, you can be great. Tonight, you can become awesome.
You can focus tonight on what went right last week. If last week you worked and you didn't get on the leaderboards, I don't want you to get discouraged. I want you to get encouraged, and here's why. It's because you did your best. You did a lot of good things last week.
You probably put a lot of good marketing pieces out last week, and you know you can do better, and you know you can step up your game. Why do you get on these Monday calls? Why do you show up here every single week and keep dialing in and keep bringing your team and have your team dial in and keep bringing your team and keep bringing your team and keep bringing your team? Why do you do it? Because you become an arc of inspiration after learning to be inspired for a long period of time.
You become a person who becomes able to communicate with the world through a different message in a new and powerful way. You turn into somebody through the power of your words, through the power of your ability to communicate, through a power of stepping into your vision. You become somebody that you didn't know that you could be, and by becoming somebody different, by working at a new level, by learning to sell something that you never learned to sell before, by becoming somebody great, by becoming somebody great, you can do great things. That's why you get on these calls, because here's what I can promise you. If you get on these calls every single week, you will become a different person in a year.
You will speak with different words. You will have a different energy and enthusiasm and conviction. You will be able to speak your vision more clearly. You will be able to influence people with your words better than you've been able to influence people in the past. And you know what the bigger thing is?
You know what the bigger thing is? You're going to find yourself expanding from the inside, because that's what Empower Network is really all about. It's about taking that box society has put around you and just tearing off the sides and helping you to realize there isn't any box. It's more like in the movie The Matrix when that little bald kid hands the spoon to Neo and after Neo sees him bend the spoon, and then bend it back, and the kid asks Neo, he says, you know, you want to know the secret? And Neo says, yeah.
The kid says this, he says, the secret is there is no spoon. So really all you're doing is bending yourself. And the reality is that all of you on here, you want different things in life. Some of it's based on what you actually want. Some of it's based on what society wants.
It's not based on what you want. Everybody on here, though, you can do great things. And I believe, based on my own experience, based on what I've been able to do, I believe that you can do things that you can't imagine yet. But I believe you will be able to imagine them, because the truth is that what you have in your mind, the spoon that you have in your mind, it can be bent just like reality can be bent, because what you think is real isn't real. Some of you say, well, I can't do that.
And the reality is there's somebody else doing it. There's somebody else who just brought in 59 people this week. There's somebody else who brought in 20 people this week. There's somebody else who brought in 10 people this week. There's somebody else who, this week, sold 10 or 15 or 20 of the master's course.
There's somebody else who, this week, who doesn't know. And I'm telling you something, guys. You can think whatever you want to think, wherever you're standing or sitting or whether you're in your car driving or whether you're paxing back and forth in your house, angry because you're not there yet. You can think whatever you want to think about yourself. I just want you to understand one thing.
That there's somebody else on this call. There's somebody who's listening to the sound of my voice on this call right now who has less experience than you, who knows less than you, who does not know how to do this. They don't know how to break through. And you want to know why it doesn't matter? Because unlike you, they don't care, and they're going to do it anyway.
They're going to step into who they want to be. They're going to fill rooms of 15,000 people. And the truth is maybe that just became you because maybe you've realized inside that you have the ability to do anything else that a human being can do. If somebody else can do this, you can do it. If Dave Wood can do it, you can do it.
If Dave Sharp can do it, you can do it. If Tatiana Torres can do it, I'm telling you, Tatiana, you're going to do it. If she can do it, you can do it. If Fixed Risk House can do it, you can do it, guys. You can do greater things than you can imagine if you're willing to focus your vision, if you're willing to focus your voice, and for the next seven days, run with me.
For the next seven days, get on the leaderboards and qualify for the contest. Fall in the bonus pool I just laid out. For the next seven days, do whatever you've got to do to bring in two people a day, to get viral blogging academy sales, and to beat out everybody else in the contest. You have to do whatever you've got to do to see if you can knock Michelangelo out from number one. Let's see how long he can hold that spot.
Who in here thinks he can beat him? You know what I mean? For the next seven days, doing whatever you've got to do, doing whatever you've got to do to step it up with your team to bring this to a new level, and if you will do that with me for the next week, and I will run with you, and I will do it with you, but I can't do it for you. I won't drag you. I won't force you to do it.
Dave Sharp's not going to hold your hand and say, please run. He's going to run, and he's going to say, try to keep up, right? That's what we're going to do, is lead from the front, because that's what a real leader does. A real leader marches out there into the marketplace, and yeah, they might be wearing their armor, but you know what the fact is? They're stepping into battle.
They're swinging their swords. That is what a leader does. They step into the game. They lead the vision with the vision in front of the people, and you can either follow or not, and my question for you is, are you the one who's on the call, who's making the decision? Are you the one that just had a breakthrough listening to Dave Sharp?
Are you the one that's making the decision that doesn't matter what you know and doesn't matter what you've done in the past, what matters is what you do now and the action you take now? Are you the one that realizes that you have a home, that you can focus here, that we're going to be here for you? Are you the one? one who got pumped up when Dave Sharpe was talking about product development teams and shipping products to your house? Are you the one that got excited about the idea of going into different languages and sponsoring a Tatiana Torres in a country like Peru that youíve never even set your foot into?
Are you the one that got excited about the ability to sell more of the 15K formula from the new sales stuff Iím coming out with this week? Are you the one that decided that right now youíre stepping into the game and are you the one thatís going to step up and be the number one in the contest? I want you to claim it. You can be. You can be number one. You can do whatever you want to do. All that youíve got to do is to step into a new power, is to make a new decision, a new commitment that youíre going to follow through. You can stand up right now and say, ìIím the one.î You can make that decision and do whatever it takes that this week youíre going to break through.
