Practicality dictates that everyone's results will vary as we are all unique and different. Basically, it takes hard work to make a substantial income in this business, and some people will make no money at all. The earnings of an Empower Network affiliate will be 100% dependent upon their skills, work effort, commitment, leadership capabilities, and market conditions. Common sense would suggest that in most opportunities, one would find exceptional individuals performing well above average, while others perform under the average. Empower Network does not guarantee any level of income or your success.

And man, you guys sound amazing. I dialed in just a couple minutes early and just listening to the chatter, I think, let's see, it looks like well over 1,200 people on phone lines. I had no idea.

I have no idea how many people are dialing in on Skype or various control panels. But if you just got here, welcome. You're in the right place. This is the Monday night Empower Hour call for Empower Network. It's November the 26th, and we're delighted you're here.

So my name is Tony Rush. I'm calling in from my home office here in Dothan, Alabama. And I've got one of the co-founders of the company that's going to pop out here with us in just a few minutes. Well, we've got a fantastic conversation for you tonight. And first of all, let me say welcome to the new folks.

I love welcoming the new folks and being among the first few people to say, my God, what a great decision you've made. I've been here. I just celebrated a one-year anniversary a couple weeks ago. And I swear this has been the wildest ride, the most amazing example of how very simple, powerful decisions can literally change your life. I haven't actually run it before.

But I'm sneaking up on about a half a million dollars personal income that I've earned in 54, 55 weeks now. And if it feels weird to hear that, it feels weird to say it as well. I'll tell you that. And it has all come from this conversation we're going to have tonight. I was just talking to David Sharp.

He's the president of the company. You guys know David. And if you're brand new, you're going to meet him in just a few minutes. But we... Say hi, Bruce.

Anyway, I was talking to Sharp earlier and conversation about how people move from, this is probably not your first rodeo. For some of you, this may be your very first working business. But I would dare say that probably most of us, with varying degrees of success, right? Some of us have had success. Some of us have struggled in other things.

And it's not good, bad, right, or wrong. We're all on our own path. But with this network, where there's something really unique that's happening, this ability for so many people to just walk in the door and follow a really simple system and start just getting incredible results. And I'm talking about, in many cases, people who've never had any success doing anything are suddenly having $100 days and $200 days and $500 and $1,000.

And I don't mean just a little brief burst of income that goes away. I mean, they're seeing a level of consistency in daily earnings that's absolutely jaw-dropping. And it's one of the biggest emotional payoffs for the leaders in the company to see so many people just getting what they deserve, getting what they came for. And that's really what it's all about.

And so Sharp and I were talking a few minutes ago. And the... It's an interesting thing, though, because my next thing, and I'll just go ahead and be the first to stick my hand in the air. When I first got into this profession years ago, my natural tendency, I'm the guy who would like, if you gave me a three-step system, I'm the guy that would make like a 53-step system out of that. Right?

Because that's what you've got to do. You've got to just complicate stuff. That was my thing. And it took me a while to get over that. And here's what I can tell you, having gone through that, and maybe some of you are self-aware enough to know that maybe sometimes you might tend to complicate things more than they need to be complicated.

And here was the realization that I had. And I hope this serves you tonight. I'm going to just set the table for a few minutes about this. He's got to... But when I look back, while I was struggling, and I agree.

A British version is a house I didn't want to be in, 18 miles out in the country. I couldn't pay it on time. I was constantly... Okay, there we go. I think I'm back now.

Let me do this real quickly. There we go. Yeah, okay. So you guys are hearing me. So here's what I was saying.

So I was in this spot where I was struggling to really figure out which end was up in this industry. And in looking back, why did I complicate things so much? Why was it that I would join a business or get started in some type of an enterprise and someone would hand me a very, very simple system and I would go complicate it? And the reason why I did that was not what you'd think. And it took me a while to figure out.

And here's what it was. As crazy as it may sound, I simply wasn't allowing myself to believe that it could be easy. Because, and who knows why we do that? Human beings are amazing and fascinating creatures. It's absolutely astonishing to me how the human mind works.

And we can talk all night about all kinds of psychology. There's some really amazing stuff that is sort of built into our system here to sort of compensate for some of the weird things that human minds go through when they're trying to make decisions and show people how to move forward in life. But one of the things that really helped me up was I had this, I guess I had some sort of a belief that there was no way that I can get from where I am to where I want to be if it's simple. So when somebody would say, well, here's the system, I would immediately, I didn't consciously do it. It wasn't like I sat down and said, you know, this is way too simple.

I need to over complicate it. I didn't do that. And if you'd asked me, I would have said, well, of course I want things to be simple. And yet I found myself, my natural response was, you know, I don't want to do this.

And so my first response was, well, I know the company's giving me some lead capture pages, but you know there's like 50,000 other people using these pages. I need to go figure out how to make my own pages, you know. And I know the company says that this presentation is, I need to send them to this conference call or this webinar or in our case this video. But all of a sudden I was sort of faced with this thing of like, if I would allow things to be that easy, then now all of a sudden I have to figure out how to make them easier.

I have to figure out why did I allow myself to struggle for so long if it was always this easy? And I think that was the hang up. That was the thing. I simply wouldn't allow myself to experience success as easy. So what do you do?

Well, you start surrounding yourself with people who aren't any more successful than you are. And nowhere is this more available today than to just wander onto Facebook and just ask any struggle-based question, you know. Like, is anybody else having trouble generating leads? And oh my God, the people will come out of the woodwork and there's just a million people that'll tell you how hard everything is. And so here's a little thing that I picked up from a guy named Stuart Wild years ago.

He said, any time you're talking to somebody who says that something is hard or difficult, well what they're actually doing, you're talking to someone who by virtue of their argument, they experienced it as hard. It doesn't mean it has to be hard. It doesn't mean it's going to be hard for you. But if they're standing there, telling you how hard something is, all that means is that they experienced it as hard. And a lot of times they're just looking for somebody to commiserate with.

They're down there in the ditch. And if they see a bunch of people up on the road going 100 miles an hour, well that forces them to kind of have to figure out why they're down in the ditch. And nobody likes to have to deal with that. So let's just surround ourselves with a bunch of people for whom everybody believes life's hard, you know. And it's the most ridiculous thing.

But I did this. When I was younger and broke, it was amazing. It's like me and my friends would sit around and just talk about how hard stuff was. So I got my buddy Lamar to tell me, hey, if I don't pay my power bill by Friday, they're going to come cut off my power. And then my buddy Philip Hughes says, well, that ain't nothing.

If I don't pay my phone bill, they're going to cut off my phone. And you get these little lack-based anti-prosperity conversation. It's almost like a competition. It's like you've got to come up with some hard luck story that's worse than theirs. Next thing you know, you've got a meteorite landing on your house or something.

Or you've got, hey, if I don't pay my car payment, they're going to come haul off my car. And so what I learned from that experience was two things. Number one, the easiest way to experience success as easy is to simply allow things to be easy, to allow things to be simple, to shift your beliefs into thinking that, you know what, if the company has handed me eight core steps and that's all I have to do, well, you know, it works for Lawrence Tam. And it works for Tracy Walker. And it works for Chuck Marshall, right?

If it works for them, and that's what they're taking a stand for, well, who am I to take an eight-step system and try to make a 48-step system out of it? Why don't I just go do what they're telling me to do? It works for David Wood. It works for David Sharp. And these are people who have a vested interest in making sure that we have everything that we need to be successful.

So why would anyone ever lead someone astray, right? Because they're financially connected to our success. So that was the first thing, was the willingness to allow success to be easy, to be simple. Two very close words, simple and easy, meaning separate things but pretty close. So just adopt a new belief that, you know what, I'm just going to assume until I see otherwise that if I follow eight steps every single day with consistency and I'm all in, then I'm going to be successful.

And that has to create money. And I don't know of a person in the company yet who's actually done that who's not making a ton of money. The second thing that I did is what you're doing right now, and that is masterminding with other leaders. And I want to congratulate you. And I know it seems like a small thing, and it doesn't feel like you did anything very powerful, you know, 12 minutes ago.

It doesn't feel like you made some earth-shattering, life-moving decision, but you did. And I think we would be able to do that. We would be remiss if we didn't put credit where credit's due. Because 12 minutes ago, something came on television, right? Twelve minutes ago, some thousand other direct sales companies started some webinar.

Somebody somewhere tonight is trying to sell you on the idea that there's a better mousetrap. Somebody somewhere has got the latest, greatest, hottest new vitamin deal that's paying a quarter percent down on the fourth level. But 12 minutes ago, you decided to show up here. You decided to do what leaders do, and that is actually spend your time around people who are getting the results that you want to get. And here's the thing.

I don't think we can ever, ever overstate the importance of that. You know, whether you're listening to this by recording or part of an inner circle, or whether you're live with us tonight, this is massive. Because you could be bowling right now, but you're not. You're the kind of person who's taking a stand, and you're showing up in your business as a leader, and you've probably had a conversation with your family to say, hey, guys, I know I've been at work all day today. I want to get you guys together to just let you know, you know, we started a new business this past week, and it means I'm going to be on the phone, at least on Monday nights, and probably one other night with my team.

And, you know, I'm going to miss some bowling, or I'm going to miss a regular Scrabble thing, or a regular movie night. But because of the investment of time that I'm making to be on this call Monday night, it means that I don't have to go to work. It means that me and mom can come home from our jobs, and we can start really creating the kind of life we want around here. So, kids, thank you for understanding. See, that's the conversation.

Some of you are nodding along because you've had that conversation. Some of you had that conversation with a spouse, maybe like mine, who stood by me and behind me through many attempts to make money from home, and who, honestly, if she had not supported me, if Jessica had not been a supportive spouse, it would have been very, very difficult for me. To create what I've created. But she was there with me. She understood.

She believed in me sometimes more than she believed in what it was I was trying to do. But, you know, I've had that conversation with her. Hey, honey, you know, it's this thing. I'm going to be on the phone. And it's part of the investment that we make as CEOs of our own business.

It's all part of this whole package of what it means to show up in your own business as a leader, not as, like, somebody who's waiting for marching orders. This is your business. You are the CEO of a multi-million dollar business. And the decision that you made to be here tonight, this masterminding with other leaders, purposely, deliberately, and consciously choosing to be around someone who's living the kind of life you want, and I don't mean just the money. I mean, I make a great income because of this business.

The Empower Network has completely, what it's done for our bank account is beyond words. David Sharp makes an incredible amount of income. He's got a beautiful new house down there. He's in Florida. You know, there's a lot of people here.

Lawrence Tam, number one income earner. I swear to God, I've got to figure out a way to, I'm going to throw some marbles on the floor or something. I've got to get him distracted. Look, look, Lawrence, a rabbit. Look over there.

You know, I've got to figure out how to pass Lawrence. But my point is, it's not just the dollars. It's the freedom. You know, it's the ability to not miss ball games and piano recitals. And it's the ability to go down to the children's theater and see your son do a monologue in front of 200 people.

You know, it's part of that. It's part of the Memorial Day or something. These are all the little pieces. And it all comes from you making very simple and very powerful decisions. And so that's our conversation tonight is Sharp is waiting in the wings.

And he's got a brilliant strategy for you that's centered around this concept of simplicity and just allowing yourself to be prosperous without grinding. The ability to allow yourself to just be where you are in your business, wherever that is, and just own it. You know, hey, here's where I am in my business. It's not where I want to be right now, but it's where I am, and it's not where I'm going to be because I'm making progress every day. And most importantly, this concept of just allowing things to be simple, just allowing the fact that if you will show up and consistently do these eight core steps every day, there is no reason in the world why you can't knock the cover off the ball financially and start literally making thousands and thousands of dollars.

Thousands and thousands of dollars a week and even thousands of dollars a day. So anyway, thank you for your attention. I am delighted to be here tonight and get to hang out, but I'm going to sit here and take some notes. David Sharp, guy needs no introduction. He's the co-founder of Empower Network.

He's our president. He's a bit of a schemer. He's still an entrepreneur at heart. He's got some incredible plans that he's going to be sharing with us in Austin, some great new announcements and things that Empower Network is rolling out.

But tonight, it's all about simplicity. David, how are you doing tonight, brother? Hey, my man. What's going on? Can you hear me?

Yeah, you sound great, man. You sound like you're next door. Yeah, well, you were breaking up a little bit there at the beginning. I was trying to – I don't know if you aligned yourself with the Big Dipper there in Alabama or what was going on there, man, but you came in loud and clear, brother. You – I think a lot of people – I'm sitting here listening to you, and I know that I heard some of the income statistics that you threw out there, man.

You know, the truth of the matter is I don't think a lot of people realize this, and I didn't realize this about you either, you know, really and honestly until you came up and you told your story on stage in Austin. But for those of you who don't know where Tony Rush not only came from but where he was just a short time ago – and, of course, I'm not going to go into telling your story too much, man, but I want to talk a little bit about it here just real quick because it's going to lead into what I really want to talk about. But, you know, not a lot of people know that you came from, originally being an assistant store manager I think at Walden Books 10 or 15 or how many ever – I don't know how many years it was ago. But, you know, a lot of times people I think, damn, Tony Rush, this guy, you know, walks on water, shoots lasers from his eyes, you know, sits on a cloud up somewhere in the sky, and occasionally when he wants money he just comes down and extracts it. When he gets up in the morning he just kind of hops into his pants.

He doesn't put his pants on the same way that I do. He kind of hops up out of his bed. Into his pants. But the truth of the matter is, man, is you've got a story just like everybody else. And not only a story, but it's an incredible story.

And where you came from is just an incredible place. When I hear your story, man, it just kind of reminds me the same thing that I've been reminded so many times, which is if I can do it, which I'll talk about what I've been able to do here and why if I can do it you can do it too. But also, dude, you too, man. I mean literally coming from where you came from. We're not even talking about yet where you were 12 months or 18 months ago.

I'm talking about when you first got started and what you did before you got into the home-based business industry. You were an assistant manager at a Walden bookstore, right? Yeah. As a matter of fact, let me say this with you. There's worse things than that.

Yeah, I didn't – I mean the idea of – I've never talked to anybody. I've never been like a public speaker. But the idea – if you had told me way back then that one day I would be like walking out on stage in San Diego in front of 3,000 people or hosting conference calls. I was – this is not supposed to happen to somebody like me. My mom worked at Ever-Ready Battery.

My dad was a livestock farmer and then later became a pastor. But yeah, I was just – I'm just blue-collar, man. As a matter of fact, I have a quick story because I know we've got a lot to cover. But I heard this horrible sound outside my home. Yeah.

The window last – two weeks ago. I swear it put chills on my arm, this awful sound from my past. I went and pulled the shades in my bedroom and I looked out and I guess you have these in Florida, Sharp. You know the big yellow truck with a big box on the back? The city, the municipal city, big square metal box on the back of a dump truck.

And they're pulling this really ugly machine. It's like a giant vacuum cleaner, and there's like three guys out there with rakes. And then one guy is operating this hose and he's sucking up all the wet leaves out of the ditch. Do you have like a leaf collector type – you seen those? You know what I'm talking about?

Oh, absolutely. There are leaves galore down here. Yeah, yeah. Okay, so that's what I did. I mean I used to be the guy that was running along the side of the road with this ugly piece of machinery and sucking up wet leaves out of the ditches for $5.75 an hour.

I did that. I did work at the mall. I'm really, really good at that. I'm really, really qualified for mall work.

That seemed to be my big qualification. Really good at standing behind a counter running cash register. But no, man, it's like you hear these stories of people that say, well, if I can do it, you can too. And it's almost become such a cliché because it's like those words just kind of roll off like water on a duck's back. But if you guys really get what we're saying, like there's nothing, nothing special about me.

I was not equipped to do what we're doing here. I mean I started just like everybody else. And Sharp, same thing. You come from a background that, man, you had far more obstacles in front of you, far more adversity in front of you than I did. And yet here we are.

And it's just – to me it just goes back to what we're talking about tonight, just following a plan, keeping it simple, being focused, and being consistent. Yeah. Oh, absolutely, man. And here's what I want to – by the way, dude, I just appreciate you, man. Thanks for coming out on the call tonight.

And just thanks for not only being you but everything you do for everybody here. Thanks, man. I appreciate it. I'm going to be right here taking some notes. Yeah, you got it.

So, guys, here's one thing that I want to say just before I forget it. By the way, welcome to the call. We're going to – I'm going to cover a four-step formula that I've used here over the course of the last year to 18 months and actually even a little bit before that, that I've used every single day. Every single time that's worked every single time that allows me to literally get any results that I want inside of my business and my life. I'm serious.

When I lay this out for you, you're going to see what I mean. I'm going to give you some examples of how I've been able to use this. But if you're new on the call tonight, you're somebody who is maybe even been in the industry or been a business owner for a while, and you've been wondering, how do I get the results that I want and how do I get them fast? What is fast? Well, to some people, fast is 30 days.

To some people, fast is 12 hours. To some people, fast is 12 months or 18 months. To some people, fast is two to four years. That's the original home-based business timeline plan that most people follow to become, quote-unquote, financially free. But before I forget, I want to tell you that, guys, if you're an affiliate of Empower Network, and not all of you on this call tonight are affiliates.

We have leaders from other companies that pop on the call and just kind of listen in because they like our training. We have people who pop into the inner circle who just enjoy listening to us. We have people who just enjoy listening to our calls, our interviews, and our training because I'm going to be real honest with you. I've bought in a lot of training, and, guys, I've done a lot of training not only in this industry but in self-development, personal development training. And our training is hands down the best training of anything that I've ever seen.

Am I biased? Well, of course I am. But am I honest? Of course I am. I think you guys are going to know that if you don't know that already on tonight's call.

What matters is at the end of the day, this is not a call to get you to join anything, buy anything, quite frankly. Whatever you decide to do with your money and your success is completely up to you. And I'm going to show you why that decision is in your ballpark. And if nothing changes, nothing changes. You literally can create your outcome.

I'm going to show you how to do that on tonight's call. But, guys, here's what I want to tell you. Just if you are an affiliate, you've got to get to our event in Austin coming up in January. If you're not an affiliate, by all means, this message can absolutely pass you by. But if you are an affiliate or you're somebody who's thinking about it, you're building a business here at Empower, which a lot of you on this call tonight are, you've got to get to Austin.

And why do you need to get to Austin? Well, here's one of the main reasons why you need to get to events in general. But more importantly, you need to get to our events. Because at our events, we do things a little bit differently. First and foremost, we usually make people sign nondisclosure agreements before they even walk in the door.

Because what we reveal inside of our events are things that are going to happen. Things that we don't particularly want everybody to know about. And the reason why is because they work and they work really, really well. The second reason why you want to be at all of our events is because you get to be able to go up and shake Tony Rush's hands, my hand, Dave Wood's hands, Chris Daugherty's hand, Lawrence Tam's hand, Neve Arthur's hand, Tracy Walker's hand, Nicole Cooper's hand. All these people who so many people put up on a pedestal in a soapbox, and the truth of the matter is, is they're no different, no better, no worse.

They don't jump up out of bed and jump into their pants. They put their pants on the same way that you put your pants on. And the truth of the matter is they deal with the same struggles on a daily basis that you struggle with. Not only being a human being, first and foremost, but also being a business owner. And when you look at somebody like Chris Daugherty standing on the stage, he's got that big, shiny, bald head.

He just kind of stands on stage and it just kind of light shines off of it. You got to wear sunglasses at things so shiny and beautiful. But he stands up on stage, and you look at the guy, and you're like, I'm going to tear this up. And that's exactly what you sit in your seat and do.

I was just talking to Neve Arthur on a couple of calls a couple of Mondays ago. And what happened? $20,000, $30,000, $40,000, $50,000 inside of their business. She was gritting her teeth at the back of the room. She said, damn it, if these people can do it, I can do it too.

You want to know what she did? She went out of that event. Followed the instructions that we gave her. Followed the formula. Kept it simple.

Applied what I'm going to teach you tonight. Before that, she had hardly made any money inside of her business and had struggled for years. Guys, what's the difference in somebody who makes a decision and goes and creates these results than somebody who doesn't? Well, there's some intricacies and there's some details. But what I'm going to do is I'm going to lay out for you a formula that you can use that every single top earner and leader and person who has created a lot of success that I personally know, including myself, has used, they followed to a T, and they haven't deviated from.

Before I move on, last call to action. Get your tickets for Austin. Hands down, period. Decide right now. Log in your back office.

If you don't have your tickets to Austin, go get them right now. As soon as you buy them, there will be an email that's emailed to you as well as there will be a link that's unlocked in your back office that you can log in and book your hotels and book your flight reservations and all that good stuff. You'll have all of those details available to you. The second thing that I want to tell you before I go over this formula is that I'm going to go over a simple strategy that you can use tonight. But I was talking with Tony before the call.

We were just chit-chatting about our holidays and stuff. By the way, I hope everybody had an amazing holiday, whatever you celebrate. If you celebrate Thanksgiving, if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, if you celebrate Christmas, whatever your particular preference is, I hope it was beautiful. And I hope you spent it with the people that you wanted to spend it with and you did what you wanted to do and you enjoyed it. But we were talking before the call, just sharing, asking each other how our holiday went.

And we were talking about some of the things that we went over in Costa Rica back in August. And in Costa Rica back in August, we did a retreat for 100 people. And those 100 spots sold out fast. They actually sold out at the event. And we had a couple of people that couldn't make it, so we opened it up for a couple of days.

And we immediately sold out once again. And for all of the most successful people that we know, not only inside of Empower, but also some incredibly successful people who are trainers and who have big businesses outside of Empower, sit inside of a room and break down meticulously, detail by detail, step by step, exactly what we do inside of our business, to be able to build multi-million dollar incomes. And we did that in a way that broke it down for people to be able to see what they needed to go through and what most people avoid the most that is literally what they have to go through to be able to have success. If you think about it, most people spend the majority of their time avoiding the things that make them the most money. What do I mean by that?

Well, there are some simple things that you can do every single day that will make you more money than the majority of the things that you do on a daily basis. It's the 80-20 rule. I talked about this a couple of weeks ago. 20% of the things will make you 80% of your money. And there are some things that you have to go through at the beginning of your business that will get you to the next stage that most people try to avoid because they're running around, chasing their tail, looking for the secret.

Now, I want to really specifically talk to the person on this call tonight who's doing that because I want to tell you to stop doing that. You're going to hear some things on this call and you're going to hear some things if you're around and involved with Empower Network inside of our training and at our events that are just a little bit different than the majority of the stuff that you hear most of the time. Most companies you're going to go to and they're going to tell you to run around, chase your friends and family, do home and hotel meetings, three-way call and prospecting, prospect all day long. And let me give you a little disclaimer here right up front. Those strategies have worked to build businesses in the multi, multi-billion dollars, right?

There are some companies out there right now that are doing it. Amway is one of them, Mary Kay, Avon, all phenomenal, phenomenal, phenomenal companies. And they have a strategy and a formula that works for them. However, we have a different formula that works really, really well for us. And that formula doesn't include any of that stuff.

So if that's the stuff that you're looking for and those are the strategies that you're looking to improve on, this is probably not the call for you. Here's what my specific and personal belief is inside of building a business, especially from coming from doing the things that a lot of people do for a long time to fail inside of their business, which is exactly what I did when I got started. When I got started inside of this business, guys, the things that I do were the definition of insanity. Not only insanity as in you looked at me and you were like, that guy there is insane, but I did the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. I drove an old 1990 Ford F-150 when I first got started in my business.

And I want you to imagine the thing for a second. It was gray, it was big, and it was rusty. The interior was completely dirty when I bought it. I bought it that way. It had so much rust on the front of the hood that when I drove literally over 40 miles an hour on a highway, chips of rust would fly off so big I had to roll my windows up.

Because if a piece flew in the window, it'd take my eye out. I had to roll the window up with a clamp, a pair of pliers that I clamped to the side of the little wheel that I would spin to roll up the window. I started this truck with a screwdriver. I would pop the hood and I would put the screwdriver into the solenoid. And when I hit it, sparks would fly and people would look at me like, what in the hell?

They'd look at me like I was a ghost with three heads and go, what in the hell is that guy doing? He's trying to steal that truck. And then they'd look at the truck and they'd say, there ain't no way in hell that guy's trying to steal that truck. If I was that guy, I'd be trying to get rid of that truck. I would pull up to lights with magnets on my car and the number and whatever my call to action or tagline was on that magnet.

And I would try to get people to call me on the telephone. And the truth of the matter is I would pull up to a light and I would look over at people trying to make eye contact with people. And I would notice them visibly looking away, hoping to not make eye contact with me because they didn't want to catch whatever the hell I had going on and what was getting me the results that I was getting. The truth of the matter was what I was doing to market, the formulas that I was using to build a business, did not work. They just absolutely did not work, right?

But I did them over and over again expecting a different result. And I didn't quite understand why. And even though I had practiced this particular formula, I guess philosophy, for lack of better terms, inside of my life from the things that I had went through, I wasn't practicing in my business. And that philosophy is, that cliché is, that thing that I found to be so true is if nothing changes, nothing changes. Let me say that again.

It's simple. And if you miss it, you could be missing one of the most important parts of the call tonight. If nothing changes in your business, nothing changes in your business. If nothing changes in yourself, nothing changes. I had no clear intention on what I wanted to create.

And the reason why I had no clear intention on what I wanted to create was because I had come out of working construction. And I had come to a point in my life after getting clean and sober two and a half years before this particular time when I came to a point in my life to where I was kind of tired of swinging a hammer on a construction site. I had been clean and sober for two and a half years. I had got clean and sober two and a half years previous to that when I came to a rock bottom inside of my personal life. And that's a whole other chapter.

I'm not even going to get into a lot of that right here right now because I really want to stay focused on giving you this because I think that this will be the missing piece for a lot of you guys on this call tonight. But what happened in my life was I was at a place to where I started to get my personal life together. I went through a lot. Right? And it took me two and a half years to come to a point to where I realized that doing what I was doing to make money and put money in my bank account was not particularly working.

And I, of course, needed to practice the concept if nothing changes, nothing changes. But I came to a point to where I was working on a job site, and I had no more work after that. And I had an opportunity to go full-time inside of my business. So this is not about going full-time in your business because the truth of the matter is, I know lots of people who are part-time inside of their business who are making more money, ten times more money than ten people who are full-time in their business. Right?

So this has absolutely nothing to do with going full-time in your business. But I was just at a point in my life to where I was ready to go do something, even if it was wrong. What I was doing was not fulfilling for me. I knew that I had a message. I knew that I had a story.

I knew that I had the ability to be able to impact and inspire people with my words and with my actions. And I just didn't know how I was going to do it. I just knew that working on a construction site swinging a hammer eight to ten hours a day was not going to do it for me. And so I made a decision. I took a risk, and I went full-time in my business.

But the thing that I was missing when I went full-time and when I started to market on a daily basis was I had no clear intention of really what I wanted to create. And this is the first step in the four-step formula that I'm going to give you guys tonight. And I promise you. If you grab a piece of paper and a pencil and you write this down and you follow me and implement this inside of your business and your life, I promise you, you will get the results that you want. I guarantee that you will get the results that you want.

And if you do not get the results that you want, when you apply this formula, you can come up to me at an event and say, David, I did word for word exactly what you told me, and I did not get results. And I will help you figure out what the hell and where you went wrong. I know I had no clear intention. When I got started in my business, I didn't really know how all of this worked. Just kidding.

I don't mean to get you guys Christians on the call riled up because I respect you guys. I love you and appreciate you. And by the way, everybody's welcome. Everybody's welcome here at Empower. Whether you're black, you're white, you have brown eyes or green eyes, whether you're from a country halfway around the world or you're right here in my own backyard, whether you're somebody who's Christian, Muslim, it doesn't matter, guys.

We're all welcome here. Whether you're gay, straight. We actually had somebody come up to us and say, hey, Dave, would it be okay if I earned my way to get on stage? Would you let me and my boyfriend walk the stage? Because there are some companies that wouldn't let people do that.

And you know that we turned around, looked that person right in the eyes, and we said, you're damn right. You're absolutely welcome to walk. Whoever helped you and supported you inside of your business across the stage with you because that's just what we believe around here. So I just wanted to get that out of the way. But, guys, when I first started my business, I had absolutely no idea of what I wanted to do.

I don't know if you can relate to that, but I was kind of flailing like a fish out of water. I was going around. I was looking for the next secret after the next secret after the next secret. And I was hopping on the next webinar and the next call. And I was listening to all of these people.

I wasn't really sure if they had the results that I wanted. And I was chasing my tail. You ever seen a dog who has fleas who kind of is biting his tail and he's spinning in circles and he doesn't even really know that he's spinning in circles? Well, that's how I felt. I was overwhelmed because I didn't understand the principle of intention.

So here's what I want you to write down. I want you to write down the word intention because the reason why you need to understand what this word means is because when you go to do something, it doesn't matter what it is, when you go to do something, if you're not absolutely clear on what your intention is, then I'm telling you, friend, you're absolutely going to be chasing your tail. The reason why is because you don't know what you're trying to accomplish. If you're trying to build a business, I don't care what business it is, if you're here to power, if you're somewhere else, it doesn't matter if you have an insurance business, a law firm, if you have a doctor's office, if you're trying to do something in your personal life, if you don't know exactly what you're doing, exactly what you're trying to do, then, guys, you're going to have a hard time doing it. A lot of you right now on this call, that is the biggest thing that you need to stop inside your business and do, and you're not doing it.

I was on the golf course today. Believe it or not, I actually golfed. I just got back into it. And when I walked up to the tee, I had an absolutely clear intention about what I wanted to do. I walked up to the tee.

I put my ball in the ground. I stepped up to it. I looked all professional. I shook my butt around a little bit in kind of how golfers do when they walk up to the tee. And I had to point out something to my buddy, too.

For those of you, the golfers that are on the call tonight, I think you'll think this is funny, but don't all golfers or the majority of them look the same during the warmup? It isn't until they actually hit the ball that you realize who the pros are and who the amateurs are. Well, the same thing applies inside a business. There's a lot of people out there who are walking around in pretty suits. They sound good.

They look good. They smell good. They say the right things at the right moments. They make people feel the ooey-gooey warm and fuzzy feelings when they're on the call. And the truth of the matter is there's a lot of them out there who are doing that, who are saying that, who are looking like that and smelling like that, and they ain't getting the results that you want.

And the truth of the matter is the majority of them, the majority of them don't know exactly what they're trying to do and what their goals and intentions are. Otherwise, they'd be getting the results that they want, and they wouldn't be out there hot-dogging and talking a big, fat, stinking game without getting the results that you want and that they want in the first place too. When I walked up to that golf tee tonight, I was absolutely clear about what my intention was, and my intention was to hit the ball long and straight directly down the fairway. I want you to think about what I would have done if I walked up to that tee and not really was clear about what my intention was in that golf swing. I want you to think about what would have happened if I would have, almost five years ago, went to go get my life back on track because I was struggling from a crippling drug addiction and alcohol addiction, if I would have been fuzzy about what my intention was.

My intention was is that my life sucked, I was trying to basically kill myself, and the truth of the matter was, I needed to get and stay clean or die, and my intention was to get and stay clean. No other intention I had, no wishy-washy, I wasn't halfway, I wasn't kind of in, I wasn't dipping my toe, I didn't have one foot in and one foot out, and I was absolutely clear about what I wanted to do, so you have to be absolutely clear about what you want to do inside of your business. If you want to generate ten leads a day and get two sign-ups a day inside of your business, then that is an absolutely clear intention, and if you don't have something simple like that set, then the chances of you accomplishing that are very, very slim. So that's the first thing that you need to do. The second thing that you need to do is you need to make a strategy to be able to accomplish that intention.

What is a strategy? Well, a strategy is something that you do or create that you are going to follow, that's actionable steps that you can actually accomplish and do that you're then going to follow on a daily basis. Strategy, guys, is one of the most important things in life, and a lot of people overlook this because they just kind of go out there and they're overwhelmed. They're doing ten things, they're on Facebook all day, and I'm talking particularly to what we do inside of this industry, is we have absolutely, first of all, no intention when we wake up in the morning, and then second of all, we have no strategy of how we want to accomplish the intention that we didn't set in the first place. So what we end up doing is we end up getting distracted by everything out there that's absolutely distractible that will completely target in on our ADD myths, which if you're ADD, I can completely relate to.

And I'll tell you what, if you've got ten windows open on your computer, I've probably got twenty because I'm the biggest ADD monster you've ever met. And the reason why I know that this strategy works and the reason why I've used this strategy over and over again is because I struggle with all of the things that I'm talking and telling you about and teaching you how to overcome on tonight's call. I teach you from a place of experience. And the difference between what you're going to experience with the owners of Empower Network here is that we're actually marketers. We're actually in the trenches.

We're actually building a business. We've sponsored almost 4,000 people into our business. We've done that not only through influence, we've also done it through paid traffic strategies, free traffic strategies, and all kinds of different ways. What word did I say? Strategy.

The difference between us and the majority of other company owners and people who you're going to hear who are going to try to be teaching you principles and formulas is that these are just theories and concepts that they've come up with and heard from other people. And the truth of the matter is not only have they not practiced them and put them into place, but they don't need to because they're not actually doing anything that requires them to have an intention or a strategy. The truth of the matter is without an intention, without a clear strategy, you're lost in the water. You don't even have a business because you don't know what you're trying to accomplish in the first place. You can use this and you can apply this to anything in life.

It doesn't have to just be business. It can be personal stuff too. A lot of you want to lose weight. Well, how much weight do you want to lose? How are you going to lose it?

When do you want to lose it by? A lot of you have other health concerns. A lot of you have relationship goals. You want to get closer to your spouse. You want to build a stronger relationship with your kids.

But you don't have a strategy of how to do that. Guys, this is so big, so powerful. If you really, really understand this and absorb this tonight, everything in your life can instantly become better and you can start to get the results that you want. But you need a strategy. You need to have a formula that you write out that works.

And inside of Empower Network, we lay strategies out for you. And we're doing one particularly right now in the 15K formula. In the 15K formula, what we're doing is we're going over right now a specific strategy for those of you who want free content marketing strategies. What is a free content marketing strategy? That's something that does not require you to go out there and buy paid advertising for you to go out there and build a business.

That's strategies that will teach you and help you create content that's compelling that you can share your story, your ideas, and your thoughts with. It can get people attracted to you, generating leads, making sales, building a team, and building a business without dumping a bunch of money into paid advertising. How do I know that's possible? Well, not only did I see my partner do it. That was his main way to build a business back before we started Empower.

But I've also now met and met before Empower lots and lots of people who do that. And one of those people is just one of the guys who just taught last week on the 15K formula webinar. His name is Chris Reppert. He's built a business almost entirely off of free content strategies. And he's done it all through blogging, all through creating content, and all through going out there and building culture and loyalty inside of the people who follow him.

And it doesn't have to be a whole lot of people. And he's got a really big business. But what is the most important thing that all of these people have? They have a strategy. Because all you have to do is pay attention, guys.

If you pay attention to all of the different leaders, to all the people who have the results that you want, you'll notice a couple of things. First and foremost, they know exactly what they want. And they have a strategy to be able to accomplish that intention. If you have a strategy, if you haven't chosen to do paid marketing, if you haven't chosen to do free marketing, if you haven't chosen to do social media, if you haven't chosen to go out there and do whatever else you decide to do, and there's a couple of other different things that you can do, then do you really have a business is the question that you need to ask yourself. The truth of the matter is if you have no plan to build, what the hell are you building?

If you have no intention on what you're trying to build, what in the hell are you building? A lot of people are asked on a daily basis, what do you do inside of this industry? And they go on to explain, sell, and tell for 15 minutes and throw up all over somebody. And the truth of the matter is a lot of that results from not knowing exactly what your intention is inside of your business and what your strategy is to be able to accomplish that intention. Here's a little insight.

A little secret that not a lot of people know. Maybe you do. I've talked about this several times on calls and webinars and things like this. But again, let me reiterate the fact that I build my business just like other EN affiliates here build their business. I don't have any special deals.

Me and Dave don't have any secret special roll-up, pass-up type thingies that are going on. We build our business exactly like everybody else builds their business. We started the company with two people. They grew into 10,000 people. That was the first month.

It's now grown into in between 70,000 and 80,000 customers and tens of thousands of affiliates. How did we do that? Well, we did that with a specific strategy first of influence and a free content strategy. And then we branched out into page strategies. And then we branched out into culture.

And now basically our strategy is to build a big responsive, loyal culture that seeps down into the teams of all of the leaders and all of the up-and-coming leaders that creates the glue that holds us together and keeps us moving forward. The leaders all have a strategy too. The truth of the matter is that every single person that you see that's built a big business is doing something very, very simple most of the times you're overlooking it, which leads me to the third thing that you have to do if you want to follow this formula and get the results that you want, and that's keep it simple. You ever heard the KISS expression, keep it simple, stupid? You know, people told me that not only when I was trying to recover from my personal spills and try to create a new life for myself when I was struggling and I was down in the pits of despair, but they also started telling me that when I started to build a business.

They said, Dave, you are overcomplicating this thing and you need to learn how to keep it simple, buddy. Every single thing that you do and every thought that you have is absolutely created from some complicated thinking pattern that you've manifested at some point in your life and you need to overcome that and squash that right here, right now. There was a famous guy and I don't want to misquote who it was. It was Thomas Edison or one of these other philosophers and inventors said something that was super profound. And what he said was anybody can make something complicated, but it's super difficult.

Of course, this is not exactly how it went quote for quote, but it's super, super difficult to make something simple. Anyone can complicate things. Not anyone can simplify things. So here's what you have to do if you want to not only start to build a business, but build an incredibly huge business that lasts for years and years to come is you need to master the art of simplicity. And if you don't master the art of simplicity, guys, I'm telling you, you're not only in for a miserable business experience and I don't care what business it is that you're in, but you're also in for a miserable life experience because every single thing that you go to do in life is going to be so super complicated and over saturated that people are going to look to you and say, look at you and start becoming unresponsive to the things that you're saying and thinking.

Everything in life that's powerful stems from something that's simple, guys. Every single thing that moves mountains, that moves people, that absolutely moves people's emotions stems from a simple thought, a simple idea, something that's being simple that's said from somebody in a simple way. Guys, simplicity is the absolute key to intention and strategy. If you have a super complicated intention, do you think that it's going to come across in a way that you can understand it and apply it in your business on a daily basis? Absolutely not.

If you are coming up with a complicated strategy that not only you cannot follow, but nobody else can follow or understand what the hell it is either, do you think that you're actually going to be able to consistently do that for a period of any longer than a couple of days, maybe even a couple of hours? Absolutely not. Guys, if you're not keeping it simple in your business, then what you're doing is digging yourself a hole that eventually you're not going to be able to get out of. And what do I mean by that? I mean that you're digging a hole of overwhelm and frustration and more than likely it's leading you to wanting to go and look for the secret that's hidden and is not going to be revealed to you by the next guru, the next person who probably doesn't have the results that you want anyways.

And the truth of the matter is, is the answer that you're looking for, is already inside of you, you already know what to do, and the truth is that you're over-complicating it so you're not able to really see what the simple solution really is in the first place. The solution is that you need to create an intention, you need to come up with a strategy, you need to keep it simple, and the fourth thing is you need to take action. Guys, everything in life stems from taking action. There was something that came out several years back. It was called The Secret.

Brilliant book. I think they made a movie out of it. They came up with it. It was this philosophy that lots of different people came up with. I didn't particularly delve too much into it.

I probably heard the hyped-up, washed-down version of it, but essentially it was think about what you want and it will magically manifest inside of your life. Call me opinionated. I just don't believe in that. And there are some people on the call who are saying, that's not what it was. It didn't go exactly like that.

And the truth of the matter is it doesn't really matter to me because the truth is that I know and I believe through experience and the things that I've done inside of my life exactly what creates multi-million dollar businesses. Why? Because just a few short years ago, I was driving an old Ford truck around town trying to get somebody to call me inside of my business and sign up. And the truth is that nobody did. Why?

Honestly, because I was doing insane stuff. But I also didn't understand how to create an intention, how to come up with a strategy, how to keep it simple and then take massive action on that particular form. Guys, everything in life stems from some sort of action. Everything in relationships, everything in business, everything in your personal life stems from action. There's a lot of you guys who are sitting around who think that you need to indulge in training on a daily basis 90% of your time, who think that you need to sit around and know everything before you can go out there and start to build a business.

And this is what I want to tell you guys is that you are absolutely crippling your chances for success because you're a perfectionist, and you're thinking that you have to know everything and do everything right before you can go out there and build a business. And the truth of the matter is that you're creating a convoluted, complicated business for yourself and literally building a prison that eventually is going to become so miserable that you're going to go and look for the next best thing to do. And the truth of the matter is there is absolutely nothing more rewarding than building a business and being an entrepreneur. And if you're going to go out there and you're over-complicating it, you're going to absolutely miss the hit. You're going to absolutely blow something that could be the most beautiful thing in the world that's changed so many of my friends' lives and it's changed my personal life too.

But what keeps so many people from building it is that they're waiting until the sun is just right in the sky, and the sky is just blue enough, and the grass is just green enough. And the people are looking just right and saying just the right things and the birds are humming at the tune that just kind of makes your ears feel comfortable and gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling inside. And then you're going to go and release your inner badass and let the world know how much of a crazy man or woman you are and how big of a business you can build. And the truth of the matter is that moment is never going to come. So many people spend their entire life waiting for a perfect time to take action and that perfect time never comes and they miss the opportunity that could create the business or the lifestyle that they've been wanting to achieve their entire life.

And for a lot of you on this call tonight, that's one of the biggest things that you're missing. You're stuck in training mode. You're stuck in some sort of a phase that's keeping you paralyzed that's not allowing you to go out there and take the massive action that you need to take to be able to build a business. And action is much deeper than just going out there and just going crazy. We've got specific strategies.

We talk about them. We teach about them. We blog about them. And we talk about them at our events that can create an atmosphere to where you can have channeled energy, to where you're not going out there flailing, wasting your energy on all kinds of different silly stuff that you shouldn't be wasting your energy on. And then when it comes time to do something that's important, you've already blown all of your energy and you don't have any energy left to do what actually matters inside your business.

There are strategies. There are techniques. There are formulas that you can use to be able to maximize the action that you take, right? One of those formulas we've been talking about a lot lately. I talked about it two weeks ago.

I think Dave talked about it a little bit maybe last week. I'm not sure. I missed that particular call. He blogged about it. We have been talking about it.

And that's ways to make your energy stretch further than you normally would if you're a beginner or somebody who's just getting started. And that is doing things like not sitting in front of your computer for three and four hours at a time. But when you go and you work for 60 or 90 minutes at a time, getting up and taking a break, going and doing some exercises, doing some yoga if that's your thing, drinking some water, doing some exercise and coming back with a clear head. That is that in the holiday season, right, or during the weekend, to take a couple of hours or a day or whatever it takes for you inside of your business to be able to take a break and go and spend some time with the people that you need to spend time with to refresh and recharge. You can come back and build a business like you were meant to build a business and you don't get burnt out.

There's things that you can do to maximize your action-taking and not get burnt out, right? But these are more advanced strategies that you'll learn as you stick around and hang out with leaders and hang out with people who know what the hell they're doing. But the truth of the matter is the majority of the people when they're first getting started, they don't understand the simple formula that I went over with you tonight. And if you get that, if you apply that to your business, if you really absorb that and really look at it, if you look at it on a piece of paper, intention, strategy, simplicity, and action, if you look at it and apply it and think about it for a second, how it makes sense, you can literally create results on a dime any time that you want instantly. Because all you have to do is you have to follow that plan.

Is it something that just manifests itself? No. It's a framework to work within. And without one, the next one doesn't work. But without any of them, nothing works.

You have to have an intention, guys. And in order to have an intention, right, you have to first get clear about exactly what you want to do. And I'm not talking about sitting here and making goals or New Year's resolutions, guys. I'm not talking about doing all this funny business that all of these self-help gurus tell you to do. But the truth of the matter is their life is completely crazy and they're teaching you regurgitated philosophies and techniques from 50 years ago.

I'm not saying that a lot of that stuff doesn't still work and anybody could teach it who could repeat it. But the truth of the matter is, guys, if you're not listening to the people who are building a business and modeling your success after them, then you're doing it all wrong. And the truth of the matter is I have gone out there and I have done every single thing that you can possibly think of and failed until I realized that in order to really start getting the results that I wanted, I had to be clear about what those results were. I had to go out there and I had to set an intention. And the truth of the matter was is until I did that, I was never able to achieve what I really wanted to achieve.

Then I started to learn about strategy, right? Then I started to learn about the different things that I could do to build a business. I started to learn about copywriting and how to shoot videos. I started to learn about paid traffic and the right way to write a blog post. I started to get around and involved with the people who could teach me how to get the results that I wanted.

And I started to listen and realize that my best thinking got me absolutely broke with nothing, driving around town with magnets on my truck, putting signs in my yard, expecting that was going to be the secret solution to me building a business. And the truth of the matter was it did not do anything except to get me more frustrated and more indebted. It did not do anything except to get me more broke. Guys, what I want you to remember and realize is that every single person that you've looked at, you're looking at, you've heard about, you've met, who's built success and built a business has started in the same place that you're at right now. A few short years ago, I didn't even know how to use a computer.

And I'm not kidding you when I say that. I did not own a computer. I had to go and put a computer on my girl's credit card. I begged her to do it because we didn't have a whole lot of money to spend. I said, will you please put a computer on your credit card?

We went to Best Buy. We put a $500 or $600 computer on our credit card. It was one of the cheapest ones we could find. And I sat down and I took massive, massive action. The problem was is that I was missing the first three steps in the formula that I went over tonight.

I had no clear intention. I didn't really have a strategy and I didn't know how to keep it simple. I was just kind of flailing around making lots of action hoping that something caught. And the truth of the matter was is that was enough to get me where I was, where I needed to be to be able to take the next step. But if I wasn't and I wouldn't have learned about the things that I went over tonight, then I would have never got to the next phase inside of my business.

And when I started to really absorb and really internalize what I went over tonight and started to put it into practice, that's when I started to create the results that got me the relationships and the exposure that I needed to be able to go and take my business to the next level, which what is the next level? It's about building bigger, better relationships. It's about getting more and more exposure. It's about building your brand and getting your name out there. What do I mean by that?

I mean my brand. I mean stage time. I mean jumping out on calls. I mean going out there and having leaders include you in emails and talking about your story. That's what I mean when I talk about taking your business to the next phase.

There's no complicated element of this business. And a lot of people are going out there and they're complicated at thinking that there is some secret to building a business. And I'm telling you that the secret is that there's no secret. That's a huge, huge eye-opener for a lot of people who are out there chasing the dragon, chasing their tail, looking like that dog with fleas in their tail spinning around. And the dog doesn't know he's spinning around but he's going in circles.

That's what a lot of people are doing. And a lot of times I see people doing that and I just shake my head and I say, damn it, I can't help everybody, right? I can't go and reach out and work one-on-one with everybody. But when I see somebody doing that, if they're close and doing the things that I taught you on tonight's call, I will reach out to them and I say, hey, look, what I see you doing is chasing your tail right now and you need to focus and get an intention, create a strategy, keep it simple and take lots of action. And I show them and I teach them how to do that, right?

But if you don't understand the framework, if you don't understand what I taught you tonight, then you're never going to be able to get to the point to where you're going to maybe have somebody reach out to you and say, hey, let's take your business to the next level. Or you're going to be able to sit down and be looking at your business and say, what do I need to do to take it to the next level? Without that, there is no business. And a lot of you have to ask yourself the same question on tonight's call is what am I really building here? Do I really have a business yet or am I just kind of flailing in the wind like a bird that, have you ever seen those birds and they can't fly but they just kind of flap their wings and maybe they might lift up a couple of feet and fly in the air a couple of feet or whatever but they never really get off the air or get off the ground?

That's what a lot of people are doing inside of their business. The majority of the people are doing that and the reason why I'm doing this is because I'm building these super, super, super simple concepts. Guys, you've got to make a decision. You've got to make a decision that you want this bad enough. You've got to make a decision that you're going to sacrifice what you need to sacrifice in order to do what you've got to do to be able to get what you want to get.

The question is what the hell are you avoiding right now that could make you the most money? That's what you need to ask yourself. You've got to ask yourself, what am I doing to get all of my problems inside of my business? Is it I'm avoiding going all in? Am I doing everything that I can do to not go all in and going all in and committing to my business not only by if you're an empower, you just buy all the products and decide to make a decision mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally that you're going to be all in and you're going to absolutely do what it takes to be able to make your business as good as it is going to be.

Right? So, I'm going to ask myself this question and I'll answer it later. And I'm going to ask myself the answer to this question and I'm going to answer it. I'm going to go back and I told you that story in the beginning of the call for a specific reason. When I was coming to the end time.

And, you know, there were people who were a little nervous and a little scared and weren't really spending a whole lot of money. But the truth of the matter was, we didn't really know how to market anyways. We were just kind of running around getting referrals and stuff like that, kind of beating the pavement, knocking on doors, cold calling people trying to get construction jobs. When I came to the end of that phase, when I finished up that last job, and I had no more work, I had to make a decision. What was I going to do inside of my business?

I was driving the old Ford F-150, 1990, big rust bucket piece of crap truck. I had a few hundred dollars inside of my bank account. I had nothing promising. I had no fallback. I had no parents or anybody who was going to give me money or help me out if it didn't work out.

I was going to go, if it didn't work, I was going to have to go out there and make something work. But I made a decision. I'll never forget when I made that decision. It felt like I was absolutely in the right place. I was in the right place at the right time.

One night, my family had went to bed, and I was sitting on my computer, and I was listening to somebody talk. I can't even remember who it was. But I was listening to them talk, and I'll never forget the feeling that I felt when I knew that it was the right thing to do, to absolutely make a decision and go all in. And as I was listening to this person talk, I actually think it was Jeffrey Combs and I think about it, because I used to listen to a lot of his coaching calls and stuff back at that phase of my business. I was listening to a lot of training.

I still listen to a lot. But I think it was Jeffrey Combs. He was one of the people that I listened to a lot. And I was sitting there listening to one of his calls one night. He was sitting in front of my computer.

And he said something, and I can't even remember what he said, because the majority of the time when you make a decision, you have one of those experiences to when you make a decision to go all in, everything else around you kind of disappears. The things that people are saying, you don't really remember what they're saying. The things that people are doing, you can't really pay attention to what they're doing, because you're having an experience, you're having a feeling. You may even be having one of those feelings on tonight's call right here, right now, because you know that the time has come, that if you don't do something right here, right now, you're going to miss your window, miss your opportunity to do something big in life. And I'm going to tell you, friend, that you can either play small or you can play big in life, and that is your choice and your decision and you're responsible for the outcome.

You are 100% responsible for what happens inside of your life. And if you end up broke, you're going to be responsible for what happens inside of your life. If you end up frustrated, if you end up struggling, you're responsible for that. And nobody's going to give or take that credit away from you, but I'm going to tell you something else. If you end up rich, if you end up successful, if you end up with amazing personal relationships, friends all over the place, money flowing into your bank account instantly, automatically, every day, friend, you can have the credit for that too, and that's the beautiful thing about life.

That's the beautiful thing about decisions. That's the beautiful thing about life. That's the beautiful thing about having a choice. That's the beautiful thing about freedom. That's the beautiful thing about making a decision about what you're willing to do to get the things that you want in life.

And that's a question, that's a tough question that you have to ask yourself. What are you willing to do to get what you want in life? How far are you willing to go? How much pain are you willing to take? Are you willing to take the pain that you are going to have to endure?

How far are you willing to go to have a life beyond your wildest dreams? Because I'm here to tell you tonight that everybody does not become rich and successful. Everybody does not become wealthy beyond their imagination. Everyone at the end of their life does not have amazing relationships that are blossoming and blooming on a daily basis around them. But some people, some people make a decision.

Some people decide, no matter what obstacles they have in front of them, no matter what decisions they have to make, no matter what people they have to say, hey, you know what, you ain't good for me and I'm cutting you out of my life. No matter what hurdles they have to step over, no matter what mountains they have to move, they make a decision that, damn it, not only am I going to build a business, I'm going to be wealthy beyond my wildest dreams. I'm going to have amazing personal relationships. I'm going to experience love. I'm going to have amazing relationships.

And I'm going to do the things that I want to do with the people that I want to do them with. And you know what, guys? That is a freaking decision that you make. That is an intention. And the more clear that you can make that intention, the more results that you're going to get, the more that is going to become a reality inside of your life, if you're willing to take action on it.

Did you know that intentions without action means nothing? That this ain't the secret cooking. You can't sit around making intentions on your couch with a bag of potato chips and a Mountain Dew and think it just manifests in your life. That does not happen. Welcome to reality.

The truth of the matter is, is that I talk so assertively and confidently because I know what the hell I went through to get the results that I've got. I know what the hell I went through to build a business that's beyond my wildest dreams. I know the struggle that I went through to get the results that I've got. And I know that I couldn't stay clean almost five years when I was absolutely in the pits of despair, almost killing myself for almost 10. I know what I've had to do.

I know the work that I've put in. And nobody can take that away from me. It doesn't matter if you come in today and say, Dave, it's all gone. Because the truth of the matter is, is you cannot take what I've done and the work that I've put in to get where I'm at. And my friends, that is the most beautiful thing I can tell you from making the decision, going all the way to the end, in setting an intention, creating a strategy around it, and taking lots of action.

Because at the end of the day, what you really want more than anything is you really want to feel amazing about what you did that day. That's all you want. Money in your bank account is good, it's great, and it makes life a whole lot easier. But what you really want more than anything, at the end of the day, when you put your head on that pillow, when you kiss your child goodnight, when you look at your husband or your wife or whoever you're sleeping in your bed at night, you want to feel good about what you did that day. You want to feel like you made a contribution.

You want to feel like you made a difference. You want to feel like you helped somebody out. I know, because I feel that way too. And do you know that takes a little bit of work? Do you know that if you want that, you've got to accept a little bit of responsibility?

And if you're willing to accept that responsibility, if you're willing to carry a little bit of that weight on your shoulders, anything that you desire, anything that you want, anything that you decide that you are going to have, you can have it at a moment, in an instant, when you make a decision. And that's it. It's as simple as that. Guys, two and a half years ago, three years ago or so, almost four probably, I was about a year clean.

My girl who I love, I can't even put into words how much I love my girl. Her name's Erin. She's an amazing, amazing woman. I had a daughter when I was 16 years old. Her name's Bailey.

Of course, when I was 16 years old, I didn't quite know. I didn't know how to be a dad. I struggled through a lot of times inside of my life that I needed people's help and support. When I was at the lowest of lowest points in my personal life, struggling with addiction, alcoholism, and I was homeless at this point, my mom actually stepped in to help take care of my daughter. Thank God for her.

Thank God for people who believe in you. Thank God for people who didn't give up on me. These are a couple of the people that I'm telling you about right now that didn't give up on me. Tony mentioned somebody in his life that didn't give up on him. I'm sure there's a few more.

Jessica, great, great, great woman. Met her. She's everything that man says she is, I've met her. We have some amazing, amazing people inside of Empower Network who are supporting these badasses. Right?

If you're struggling, you've got somebody inside of your life who you're still trying to prove that it works, still trying to prove why they should support you or back you up, don't you give up on them. Right? And if you don't give up on them, they won't give up on you, I promise you that. You do not give up on those people, and they will not give up on you. You show them the way you go out there, you create an intention and a strategy, you keep it simple, you take a lot of the action, and you go out there and you give them a reason, give them a reason to keep walking forward.

Realize that they're human beings, and just don't give up. But a year ago, I'd stayed clean for, excuse me, about almost four years ago, I'd stayed clean for about a year. And my beautiful, amazing woman looked at me in my eyes, and she said, Dave, what do you think about kind of really, really taking a serious grab at being a dad again? God, I had just stayed clean for a year. I was just literally learning how to become a human being again.

I was learning how to be a man again. I was learning how to operate in society. I was learning about how not to be afraid of everything. I was learning how to have a conversation with people. I was learning how to have fun again.

I was learning how to interact and have friends again. I was building relationships with people in my personal life. And she looked at me, and she said, Dave, it's probably time that you took a serious look at becoming a dad and building a great, strong relationship with your daughter. And I looked at her. I started to sweat a little bit.

I started to get a little bit nervous. And I said, you're probably right. It had been something that I was kind of avoiding. Maybe there's somebody on the call tonight who has a son or a daughter or something that's in their life.

And maybe they haven't connected in a while. Maybe they have a relationship that's kind of struggling. I don't know. Whatever the case may be is that was where I was at almost four years ago. So I called my mom up, and I said, Mom, I want to make a serious stab at becoming a real good dad to my daughter.

It was what I wanted to do. I knew it was something that I needed to do. I was just a little bit nervous, a little bit scared about it. It was a big deal to me. I put a lot, a lot of importance on that.

And I knew that through my experiences in my life, I had put a little damage, a little strain on that relationship. This is just my personal story. This is just what I went through and what I had to overcome. My mom said, Dave, I think that's a great idea. And so I started to get my daughter on the weekends.

I started to see my daughter more often. And then after about a year and a half, my daughter came, and she started living with me. But legally, in the court system, it wasn't final yet. My mom still had guardianship over my daughter.

But she was living with me full time. But it didn't feel final because I wanted it to be final. I wanted it to be legitimate. I wanted all responsibility to be completely on me, and I wanted to finalize that. And my time came last week.

I was nervous as hell. I had to get a lawyer. We had a court date set. I had to do some specifics. I went out and I took care of all my responsibilities.

And I walked up into that courtroom nervous as hell. Just as nervous as I was when I had a year clean, and my girl looked at me and she said, Dave, you might want to start really, really looking at becoming a great dad to Bailey. And I walked into that courtroom, and I sat down. I tried not to be nervous. My daughter was sitting next to me.

I looked at her. I looked at the people who were there to support. I looked at the people who were there to support me, friends and family. I looked at my lawyer. I was trying to make conversation just to kind of keep my thoughts off of what was going on.

And then all of a sudden, out of nowhere, I heard all rise. I knew that the time was coming. We were the only people in the courtroom, too. There was nobody else in there. And the judge walked out.

He was an old man. He had white hair. He had a glowing face. He looked like he could be really mean or really nice, and I had no idea what kind of mood he was in that day. And he sat down.

And he called us up to the court, to the podium, and we went up there, and my lawyer started to speak. And my lawyer started to talk about all the things that I had done and all the reasons why we should finalize the whole situation and my daughter should be finally and legally and fully 100% whole with me. And after my lawyer got done with the speech, he kind of left it there and stopped me. He stopped talking, and the judge didn't say anything. The judge looked at me.

He kind of squinted his eyes. He looked at my daughter. He looked at the people sitting behind my daughter, my mom, my stepdad, my dad, the friends of the family who were there to support us. He looked back at me. He looked back at my daughter one more time.

He looked back at me, and he said, Son, I think that is an amazing grace. I'm proud of you. Now, why don't you go take your daughter home where she belongs? And I'm going to tell you, friend, at that moment, nothing else mattered. At that moment, I knew that every single thing that I had done, all of the crap that I had overcame, all of the struggle and all the pain that I had went through, all of the nights that I had said this ain't worth it, all of the times that I wanted to give up.

All of the days that I was on the construction site, and I arrived at 6 o'clock in the morning and didn't get off until 6 o'clock at night and came home at night hunched over that $500 computer that my girl put on her credit card for me to build a business, all of the times that I was up at 1 and 2 o'clock in the morning when I knew I had to get up at 5.30 or 6 the next morning, and I was building my business, and I was doing what I had to do, and I was taking action, and I wanted to quit, and I wanted to cry, and I was so frustrated, and I looked at my bank account, and there was no money in it, and I looked around at my life, and I said, this isn't worth it. I'm going back to the miserable shit that I knew before when I looked at that judge's eyes, and I looked back at my daughter, and she was smiling, ear-to-ear grin, and I knew that it was all worth it. I knew that every single thing that I had went through, I had went through for a specific reason, and I knew that I had gone through all of that stuff to bring me to that exact moment that I was seeing right there that I was able to make a difference in the person who was mine. That's the most important in my life, and that's my only daughter.

So, guys, I want to ask you, what are you willing to do to get what you want, and what do you really want? What is your intention, not only in business, but also in life? What are you on this earth for, and what relationships mean the most to you, and how deep do you want to take them? What do you really want to get out of life, and the people that you have the opportunity to spend life with?

Who are the people that you want to spend time with, and what do you want to spend time doing? And do you want to go through lots and lots of pain for a long, long time, or do you want to go through a little bit of grinding? Do you want to go through a little bit of struggle? Do you want to take a little bit of risk? Do you want to do a few things that ain't that comfortable, that ain't that easy, that are kind of difficult, that you've got to go through if you want to get to the next time?

Because do you know that everything beautiful in life is on the other side of a decision. It's on the other side of a dark moment. It's on the other side of some sort of pain or struggle. It's on the other side of that uncomfortable feeling that you don't want to walk through, but when you do, on the other side there's something that's unbelievable and amazing that's waiting for you.

It's literally just begging you to make a decision to walk through that door that you have no idea what's on the other side. Guys, if you're willing to do that, if you're willing to follow what I laid out for you tonight, not only apply it to your business, but also to your life, then I'm telling you the results that you want, the things that you want, the things that you want to accomplish, the financial goals that you have, the personal goals that you have are literally within an arm's reach. The only thing that you have to do is you have to follow the four steps that I laid out for you. Guys, if you miss any of them, it makes it incredibly difficult, and then you've got to make a decision.

My question to you is, are you all freaking in yet? Are you all in yet? Are you all in your business, and are you all in your life? And if you ain't, what in the hell are you waiting on? Who are you waiting on coming up to you to give you permission that it's okay to live life?

Who are you waiting on to come up to you and walk up to you to tell you it's okay? It's okay to go all in. What burning bush are you waiting to see? And do you know that if you continue to wait on that, you're going to be waiting for a long time? But do you know that the waiting room has plenty of seats for people like that to sit in and wait?

Do you know that there's a lot of people who are sitting around waiting for something to happen in their life? There's a lot of people who are sitting around waiting to build a business, who are sitting around waiting to hopefully make money someday when they can learn the secret. They're sitting around waiting to have that relationship that they've always wanted or to have that experience with that person, or reconnect with the person they need to reconnect with. And do you know that the waiting room is getting bigger and bigger and bigger? It's getting more filled up.

And you know there's a door, not only in the front, but also in the back. There's windows that you can escape from it. And friend, anytime, literally anytime that you want to get up and leave the waiting room, you can get up and leave. And it is completely up to you.

It's a decision and to follow a plan. Guys, if you've got a dream, I want you to scream. If you've got a goal, if you've got something that you want to accomplish, if you want to throw the New Year's resolutions and all the hogwash, the kumbaya, the wishing and hoping that something's going to happen and you want to go out there and you want to live and you want to take action and do what it takes to be able to accomplish your dream, I want you to scream your ass off because you know that it's time. It is your time. The time is now.

Guys, I'm a calm person. I will look forward to seeing you in Austin. I'll look forward to shaking your hand, meeting you, giving a hug, slapping you on the back, dancing and hanging out with you guys. I'll really look forward to helping every single one of you that wants help releasing your inner badass, release your damn inner badass. And if you're ready to do that, I want you to scream your ass off right now because it is time.
