Hey, guys. My name is Dave Sharp, co-founder of Empower Network, and welcome to the Monday night Empower Hour call. Guys, this is going to be a really, really big call, like I said, for a lot of you who are really looking for a simple formula that you can use that's not confusing, that's not overwhelming, that's not going to have you looking around looking for the next best gimmick or gadget that's going to get you to earning six figures inside of Empower Network and inside of your business. So, to those of you who are on the call for the very first time, maybe were invited by somebody, there's a lot of you on the call tonight who are in that situation. I want to just tell you that if you've never heard the sound of my voice, if you've never been introduced to Empower Network, if you've never met any of our leaders before, if you were just kind of invited here by someone tonight who cared enough about you to show you something that's not only super cool, okay, because I think you're going to get that vibe from us tonight.
We're not your traditional average home-based business, MLM-type deal, okay? We're just not. We're something a little bit unique. We're something a little bit different.
And we've kind of came onto the scene from the perspective of built by the people for the people, okay? And I think you're going to get that vibe tonight. You really essentially tonight have the opportunity to plug into something, if you're open and ready to hear the message, that can really impact your life in a way that you never thought possible. And if you don't believe it, the only thing you have to do is really kind of pay attention to some of the stories, some of the testimonials, some of the experience.
We're going to talk about some of that tonight. For those of you who don't know who I am, guys, just, you know, four and a half years ago, I was at the bottom of the bottom. I came struggling from pretty much anything and everything that somebody can struggle with in their life. I was homeless. I was struggling with a defeating drug addiction that was trying to kill me.
I was struggling with alcoholism. I was struggling with just personal defeat. I was that guy who had all the potential, and people told me, but they didn't ever. They always said, hey, dude, you got a lot of potential, but you're never going to go anywhere because you don't know how to use it.
Everybody had kind of, including myself, beat me down to a point where I didn't really believe in myself. And I was so pessimistic when, after I had gotten clean, which now I've been clean for four and a half years, completely clean and sober. I obviously wouldn't be able to do what I'm doing today if I wasn't totally focused and totally engaged and totally present in life. But I was so tapped out, guys. I was really so pessimistic and so negative, not only because of the way that I thought about the world and the place that my life had brought me.
But just because of how kind of society molds us, after I'd been clean for two, two and a half years, somewhere in that window, I was approached by somebody when I was on a construction site, actually. And guys, I want you to think about this. The reason why I tell you this story is not, you know, for any other reason, except I want you to look at the situation that you're in. I want you to think about where you're at right now.
If you're a guest on the line tonight, I want you to really be honest with yourself throughout this call and really say, hey, where am I in life right now? And is what I'm doing going to get me to where I want to go? I was just at a place in my life that I did not think that there was anything that I could possibly do that would get me to live in my dream. And what were my dreams at that time? Quite frankly, my dreams at that time were just to not have to wake up at six, six thirty in the morning because I hated getting up super early in the morning.
And I don't know if there's anybody on the phone line that can relate to that or not. But I hated getting up super early in the morning and going out. I live in Florida, still lived in Florida and still do. And going out on the construction site and swinging a hammer for eight to ten hours a day in the hot Florida sun. I enjoyed building stuff, but I was at a point in my life where I just knew there was something out there more for me.
I just truly, and I say this truly, didn't believe that there was anything that I could do or that would happen for me that would give me the ability to be able to go out and do those things again. My dreams were simple. They were to, you know, cash in the old 1994 F-150 that I drove at that time. Now, there's nothing wrong with old, you know, rusty trucks. This is one of the best trucks that I've ever owned, one of the best vehicles.
But I never thought that I would be able to do things like I'm doing today, like, you know, last week, week and a half ago, I just went and bought my dream car, Range Rover, cash. Guys, you're talking about a guy who just a few years ago, listen to this, I want you to listen very, very...
Guys, just a few years ago was the guy in the parking lot. And I want you to picture this. A lot of you have met me. You've seen me. Okay.
Was the guy in the parking lot that waited till everybody left so I could put the key in the ignition and turn it over, and I would pop the hood and I would pick a screwdriver and start my truck with a screwdriver. Sparks would fly. Any of you who know anything about vehicles, there's a solenoid. You have to get a spark there.
The solenoid connects the spark from the battery to the starter ignition or whatever. I'm not a mechanic, so I might be explaining it wrong. But that was who I was. I'll never forget when I got into network marketing, I was actually involved in a company and, you know, I was doing okay.
You know, we had this meeting or whatever. And we went to this meeting, and guys, I parked two parking lots over in the business center because I was just embarrassed about this truck. I mean, this truck, this thing had so much rust on the hood that any time I went over 40, 45 miles an hour on the highway, chips would fly off the hood. They'd fly in such big pieces that, you know, they could have darn near crashed somebody's windshield. I'm not even playing around.
That was where my dream was, just to, you know, maybe get another car, not have to live paycheck to paycheck, stop robbing Peter to pay Paul. Never really a big debt guy, I always kind of lived within my means, but I certainly couldn't do anything that I really wanted. I couldn't take my family on vacation. I couldn't afford to put my daughter through summer camp.
I couldn't afford to go out to dinner like I do today. I mean, there's weeks that I go out to dinner every single night. And sometimes I go out one, two, you know, two or three times in a day. I couldn't do those things, guys. In a few years, because I followed a very simple system, I worked my butt off, and I didn't have what you guys have today and what I have as well as in Empower Network.
I didn't have the leadership. I didn't have the support. I kind of forced my way once I opened my eyes up to the potential that I could have in marketing and working for myself being an entrepreneur. So I was approached on a construction site by a guy about a network.
And at first I was resistant. I finally took the money from that job, got involved. And here's what happened to me. And I want to relate this to you guys just so you can understand. I think telling exactly what happened to me is important because I think a lot of people get this idea that things just happen to people overnight.
That, you know, we just jumped from the bottom to the top and there was never any middle ground or any struggle, right? I was involved in a company and the company went through a little bit of startup issues, not even near as bad as what we went through at the beginning of Empower Network, and they got a couple of bad deals, a couple of bad contracts. It was actually a cell phone company.
And the company actually went under. And, you know, I was obviously devastated. I mean, because that was my opportunity, right? I really thought that I was going to get rich in that thing. I thought that was going to be my ticket.
When I got that check, I really believed that anything could happen. Anything was possible. I got into another network marketing company. And after this huge, hypey, big pre-launch, and they put, you know, tens of thousands of people inside of the company, that company shut down too. And I was left with nothing.
Asking myself, is this really what I want to do? But I didn't quit. A lot of you always ask yourselves, maybe you wonder why we're so big on not quitting. Staying in the game.
We always tell people, don't be a weenie. Don't be a wussy. Just stay in the game and focus. Focus. Focus.
And the reason why we talk about that is because we talk from personal experience. And that's exactly why I share what I'm sharing with you today. And more importantly, for the new person who's on the phone tonight, I want to let you know that the thousand people who are also dialed in on the conference call tonight can all relate to what you're feeling right now. Whether that's you're in a situation where maybe you like your job, but you'd just like to be able to do more. Maybe you hate your job and you can't wait to do something completely different.
Maybe you've been in the network marketing, affiliate marketing industry for a long time, maybe even a short time. And it's just so frustrating. The majority of the people really can't get ahead in most comp plans, and most products people wouldn't really buy unless there was, you know, an opportunity for them to make money attached to it. And you're just kind of caught up in a lot of the things that get so many people excited.
At first, they've been disappointed once they realize that it's not exactly what they thought it was. So, to make a kind of a short story long, a couple of years fast forward, you know, I got with my partner, Dave Wood, and, you know, we met actually at an event that he was putting on down in Costa Rica. And we got to thinking, you know, after we had forced our way through success inside of this industry and really kind of uncovered some secrets and strategies that we use to be able to, you know, make a whole lot of money on the internet, we said, well, how can we take our ability to sell, our ability to market, our ability to build funnels and platforms and traffic systems and hand it over to people so they didn't have to do it?
Has anybody on the phone line, I want you to just think about this for a second, ever tried to set up a website or tried to set up a blog? If you have, you understand the same struggles that everybody encounters when they go to start trying to make money on the internet. And we said, how can we eliminate all of that stuff? And out of those questions, the Empower Network was born. And fast forward,
nine months later, guys, I want you to think about this. We're generating well over a million plus page views a day for our members, getting in between 600,000 to a million unique hits a day, guys. That's unique visitors on the internet a day. We've already generated close to a million leads here at Empower Network. Our members have, guys.
And get this. I want you to just let that sit in for a second. Most companies, they completely hide their average earnings or how much they're actually paying out. We disclose all of that stuff. We've actually got an income disclosure that shows everybody the average earnings.
You know, most companies really don't want you to know that stuff. You can find that at EmpowerNetwork.com forward slash income.php. Guys, almost every single day, we're putting out, you know, income statistics. We're putting out statistics about our traffic.
We're putting out statistics about results that people are getting on their blogs. And that's what I want to talk to you guys about tonight: what I've realized here at Empower Network is it doesn't matter if you're brand new. It doesn't matter if you've been involved in online marketing or internet marketing or affiliate marketing or network marketing for a short or a long period... And it doesn't matter if you're this huge leader.
You know, there's a couple of people who are listening in on this call tonight who are big, big leaders. You know who you are. You can move big teams. You're just kind of spying and listening in to what we're doing because you're kind of sitting on the fence and you're wondering, hey, is this something that I really want to get involved in? You know, I don't know if I understand the comp plan.
Guys, let me simplify things for you. We pay out 100% commission minus merchant fee. So I want you to think about how an actual company or a real business makes money, okay? You've got your restaurant in your city.
They put out food. They sell, you know, appetizers and drinks and things of that nature. You give them your credit card and they swipe it and they have merchant fees.
And, of course, they have overhead and all this kind of good jazz, okay? I want you to think about how you're making money here at Empower Network. You've got a product. You take it out and sell it. We've got merchant fees.
We pass those on to you. They're about 6%, and you keep all of the rest of the money. Now, of course, if you just want to be a customer and use our product, that's fine too, okay? But I want you to think about what our affiliates are experiencing as opposed to pretty much everything out there in the industry. Guys, traditionally, a huge payout inside of network marketing, MLM, affiliate marketing, a big payout is 50%, 55%.
Guys, we blow that completely out of the water because we've built a system that anybody, anybody can use that's automated, that doesn't have a whole bunch of overhead. The only overhead that you have is your marketing and advertising dollars. And if you're outsourcing anything, have any employees or have any personal assistants. Guys, we've created a sustainable platform of business with really badass products and pass them on to you with sales funnels that actually convert. And what we have that's come out of this after nine months is a whole gang, a whole slew of people who are experiencing success.
And that's for the very first time. So if you're new on this call, I'm not even speaking to you if you just got in or you're somebody who hasn't really got all in yet. It doesn't matter where you come from, what you've done in the past. You can have success here, and I'm going to prove it to you tonight. I want you to really think about this.
Guys, we created... Do you know how easily that can be you if you follow what I'm going to teach you guys tonight? I'm going to give you a little bit of proof. Again, I'm going to bring out somebody who's having a lot of success on their team, and this is just one person.
I don't want to keep you here all night long, but I dang sure could. We're going to do a live stream tomorrow. Dave Wood's actually going to host it. It's going to be from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., and tomorrow you're going to see more proof.
We're going to bring out more leaders, more people who are having success. You're actually going to hear from them one by one live on video right on the front of the blog. All you've got to do is tune into the blog at 8 p.m. Eastern time. That's going to last for about two hours.
You can sit on your computer. You can watch and hear from probably well over 10 different people, maybe even 15 or 20. I'm not sure how many other people we can get a hold of whose schedules all meet up. And you can hear exactly what people are doing to be able to achieve this. Tonight, I want to give you a simple formula that you can use, because this is the formula that everybody who came out to Atlanta used to be able to really explode after Atlanta.
And if you think that Atlanta was big, guys, what you're about to witness in San Diego is going to just trump that times 10. So here's what I want you to do right now. I want you to get a piece of paper and a pencil, and I want you to write down what I'm about to tell you. And then I'm going to kind of go over specifically why these five points are so important and why they're the quickest, fastest, and simplest way to six figures here.
Now, guys, let me just be totally up front with you. This is not a guarantee of income, and I know none of us are weenies. And I'm not trying to insult your intelligence at all. I know you guys all know this, and I don't mean to be redundant about this. This is not a guarantee of income.
This is only telling you and showing you what the people inside of Empower Network are doing and have done to be able to earn six figures. So just as long as we're all clear and up front about that, I like to be cool with that kind of stuff because I want to make sure that we're totally transparent and allow people to make informed decisions. With that being said, guys, it didn't take much thought because it's so obvious, okay, what people are doing here at Empower Network to be able to earn the type of income that they're earning.
It's not a secret, but the reason why I like to talk about it is because a lot of people need clarification. They need it to be simplified for them because there's so many different things. I want you to think about this for a second. There's so many different things out there on the internet. There's so many different launches going on, products being sold, advertisements happening, so many different black holes that you can click.
And before you know it, you're buying something that you don't need because you think you need it because the marketing is good. And before you know it, you're buying everything out there on the internet, and you're so overwhelmed and confused you couldn't possibly go through all of the products that you've bought and you've owned. And you're listening to five or ten different people, and you're just confused. I don't know if anybody can relate to that. But the number one thing when I travel around and speak to people, I just had a room of 200 people or so here in Tampa, Florida, just last week.
We did about three and a half hours of training. Next week, I'll actually be in Santa Clara, California, for those of you who are out in California on the West Coast and can make it out there. We'll get some details out to you. Actually, it's going to be this week. We'll get some details out.
It's going to be one of my famous last-minute meetings where we'll just kind of probably get 100, 200 people in a room with about 24 hours' notice, just because you guys are awesome and show up for Empower Network like that. But anyways, essentially, there's a lot that can overwhelm you. There's a lot of distractions. There's a lot of things — the rabbit hole does go deeper. It goes as deep as you allow it to go.
But what I want to do is kind of give you a simple formula to focus on, and if you focus on these five steps, guys, this is the quickest way to earn six figures inside of Empower Network. Number one, I want you to really seriously write this down and put it in a place that you can look at every single morning when you wake up, and I want you to look at it several times throughout the day. The first thing is you've got to get all in. There's a couple of reasons why you've got to get all in.
First and foremost, it's the quickest and easiest way to qualify to earn commissions on all of the products. The second thing that it does is it creates this internal commitment inside of you that you just feel better about what you're doing. You feel more conviction. It's one of those things that once you commit — and I'm going to talk about this here in a second — to going to San Diego, your business will change.
We had somebody on Facebook the other day ask, should I go to San Diego or should I stay home and market? And everybody pounced and jumped on this person and said, you should absolutely go to San Diego. It will change your business. They were speaking from experience because they came out to Atlanta.
Getting all in with all the products makes you feel a part of it in a way that you just can't get any other way. Emotionally, it creates the conviction. Mentally, it gives you the attitude of confidence to be able to go and look at somebody and say, you need to get all in. Because if you're not all in, and you're going and talking to people about buying all the products and they say, hey, do you own this product? What's in it?
And you say, no, I don't really own it, I just want to earn the commission. They're going to look at you and say, this guy's a weenie. He's trying to manipulate me. What the heck?
I need to find somebody who I can trust. And you're not going to get the most out of your team members. Guys, the team will follow the speed of the pack leader. And if you're not all in, don't expect your team to get all in, too. You're cutting yourself short and you're leaving a lot of money.
You're leaving a lot of experience. You're leaving a lot of the fun on the table that you could be having by being all in. So number one, guys, you've got to get all in. Number two, the only thing that you need to focus on as far as production is getting two sales a day of a $25 blogging system. Simple.
Two sales a day. Guys, I ended a little training that I did here in Tampa the other day giving a long explanation of exactly the concepts and the philosophy behind two a day, and broke down exactly what people have experienced. Here's the short of it, okay? People getting two a day consistently over a 90-day period of time have earned — we actually have proof of this.
This is not, you know, made up numbers. How does that work? You say, Dave, that's a $25 product. How does that work? Well, because...
The average lifetime value of a customer, guys, the average lifetime value of a customer, okay, has been right around $350 to $400. And that varies depending on what affiliate account it is. But I can tell you that in Dave and I's specific affiliate account, it was much higher than that. It's much higher than that, guys. That's exactly how that happens.
Our upsell numbers are ridiculous. When you get somebody in and focus on getting two a day, and you let us do the selling, you just focus on the front end, guys, magical things happen. And those numbers are able to be hit because of the way that our psychology works inside of our company. This is not stuff that you need to understand.
It works whether you understand it or not. But the truth of the matter is, people who have consistently hit those numbers over a 90-day period of time have been able to create those types of monthly income without any real issue because of the upsell numbers. The third thing that you need to do is you need to get to San Diego. Now, here's a quick announcement for you before I forget.
Guys, we do have rooms in San Diego, okay, out as far as at the hotel, the Hilton. I forgot to make this announcement at the beginning of the call. Guys, book Friday and Saturday. All of the rooms are sold out for Thursday and Sunday, okay?
Book Friday and Saturday. It should be changed on the website. We have plenty of rooms available at the Hilton. We got our room block extended. We did come close to selling out.
But we did get more rooms. So those are available. So I would go directly into your back office. If you haven't purchased your ticket...
Guys, these five things are mandatory. If you're not serious about your business, then these things don't really count. If you're just kind of here hanging out, then it doesn't really matter. But I promise you, if you're on this call tonight, you are dead serious...
Or you're dead serious about just hanging out and wasting time. If you're dead serious, guys, get your butt to San Diego. It's not even an issue, okay? Here's what getting to San Diego is going to do for you. And by the way, if you log into...
Back office, you click the little button that says, "Do You Hate Evil?" You can buy your ticket or tickets for your spouse. But here's what's going to happen when you go to San Diego. Guys, you're going to have the ability to be able to see things in person.
You're going to have the ability to connect with people. And something is going to happen. And I don't know if you've ever experienced something where somebody talked about something, but you weren't really there. And then when you finally came or were able to put your hands on something, it just became real to you.
I have a great analogy or example of something that just happened to me yesterday. You know, my daughter, she really wanted to go to this concert. Her favorite band was playing at this concert.
It was called the Warped Tour. A little heavy, a little hectic there, a little bit — you know what I'm saying — a little hardcore. We got through it.
And I'll tell you what, we had a lot of fun. But here's what happened at that concert, okay? You hear somebody on the radio, on a CD, whatever, and you hear them playing. And they're kind of like this dreamy fantasy. You look at them.
They're kind of like a god or something. It's like, oh my gosh, this person doesn't really exist. They sit up on top of the clouds and they just kind of make songs. And, you know, I listen to them and I love them. And we all know what I'm talking about.
You do the same thing with athletes, movie stars. Here's the interesting thing that happened at this concert yesterday. Look at these people. They're on stage.
We were right near the front row. Okay, we were probably, you know, 15, 20 feet back. And here's these kids. Just regular... Just regular dudes, okay?
Doing regular things. Tripping, stumbling on the stage. You look at these people and you're like, these are normal, real people. You know, a couple of weeks ago, actually more than a couple of weeks ago, when we opened up our headquarters here in St. Petersburg, Florida, you know, I had been obviously building Empower here for several months.
We were probably seven months old by this time when we expanded and opened up and got this big headquarters that we have. And, you know, a lot of my friends — I don't know if you're a network marketer or anything, have been in the industry for a while — you get a lot of times people say, well, what is that you do? What is that business? I don't really understand that.
So I got a lot of that. And people saw things going on Facebook. And I'm also actively marketing, even though I own the company. People are, you know, they're looking at me like I'm a rep, like I'm an affiliate. And, you know, sometimes, obviously, you don't want to go into the long, drawn-out explanation.
You might refer somebody to a video or whatever. Sometimes people are just curious. But they didn't really think that anything was really happening. It was just kind of this fantasy.
And I was out to dinner one night and I saw this guy and he said, hey, you know, my friend, he's doing all your IT work inside of your company, inside of your new headquarters. And, you know, wow, he said, you got this huge new office. Sounds like you're doing good. And the funny thing was, I had been doing good for a long time.
The business was already six months old. And I ran into this guy six months into the business. And because we had the physical office, the physical place you could put your hands on, somebody saw something — wow, there's an office. It made it real.
Well, I want you to think about that time and how you think about your business and making money. Getting to San Diego is not going to do that particularly for everybody else, even though it totally will as far as you bringing video cameras and shooting pictures and things of that nature, but I want you to think about what it's going to do for you, your business, your commitment, your belief system. You're going to go there. You're going to see people like Tony Rush. You're going to see people like Lawrence.
And you're going to see people like Chris Campbell. These people are making forty and fifty thousand dollars a month with ease. And some of you, maybe you might have them up on a soapbox looking at them like they're these giant guru gods, but the truth of the matter is, they're normal people just like you. And there's going to be some just absolutely brilliant information and training as we're going to do some things in San Diego that are just going to have people out of their mind, without a doubt.
But here's what I can tell you is going to be the big breakthrough for a lot of you: it's going to be shaking somebody's hand, getting a picture with somebody, getting a video, watching somebody on stage, watching somebody walk through the hallway and say, holy crap. Not only is that dude real, but that dude, if we can do it, I could do it. It's so important that you get there. And number four is get your team to San Diego. Guys, the people who have the biggest incomes, Tracy Walker, for example, I think she's about to hit forty thousand dollars this month.
She had one of the biggest teams in Atlanta. And obviously there was no excuse not to go, because it was right there in their hometown. She had, I think, probably over one hundred people on her team there.
I don't know exactly how many there were. Dang sure at least one hundred stood up when we said who's in Tracy's team here. And guys, her team came out of that event and absolutely exploded. Guys, you've got to get your team to the event. And if you want to place in the competition and you want to be actually connecting with your team, with your customers and getting them to the event, because that's what's going to earn you the most points.
And guys, remember, we're giving away thirty-five thousand dollars cash up on stage for any of these leaders. So any of you people who can produce or move anything on this phone line, I would be gunning for that top spot like nobody's business. As a matter of fact, I almost sometimes have little fleeting thoughts of popping in and just being an affiliate so I can go after some of these competitions because, guys, there's never been prizes inside of a network marketing company or direct sales company or affiliate company like thirty-five, twenty thousand dollars to the number one winner inside of the affiliate contest. You can find
details of that contest on the blog under the tab "contest." The fifth thing — and this is one of the most important things — is you've got to focus. You've got to focus. There's so many distractions, there's so many things that are going on. There's so much going on in your life.
It's so easy to start something and quit after a week or two weeks. It's so easy to have shiny ball syndrome, like I've always had my entire life. It's so easy to jump from deal to deal, to get influenced and persuaded to stop going after your dreams because somebody wants you to be a part of their agenda. I want you to think about something for a second. Everybody gets up and has an agenda every single day.
And the majority of you — and I speak to you very assertively because I've been in your shoes and I have to stay vigilant with this every single day — everybody wakes up with an agenda. And you either have your own agenda and are going after your own dreams, or you're a part of somebody else's agenda, going after their dreams.
I want you to think about that. And I want to say that one more time. You either have your own agenda and you're going after your own dreams, or you are part of somebody else's agenda going after their dreams. Guys, you have got to focus on your business. Focus as far as marketing, as far as creating videos and shooting out emails and blogging on a daily basis.
That is the number one priority if you want to earn six figures here inside of Empower Network. Number one, guys, you've got to get all in, period. You've got to get all in by buying all the products. You've just got to do it.
The information inside of those marketing courses, and by listening to audio on a daily basis inside of the inner circle — guys, there's no education that you need outside of Empower Network until you've gone through all of our marketing courses. Nothing. I want to say that one more time, in case you were wondering, just in case there was any doubt in your mind, just in case you're wandering around and somebody else is trying to make you a part of their agenda: there is no other marketing information that you need to go through until you have gone through all of the courses, all of the training inside of Empower Network.
How can I say that? Do I sell information and training courses outside of Empower Network? Yes, I do. Am I hammering you and slamming you every single day to go out and buy my marketing training courses? No, I'm not.
Because I know what's inside of these marketing courses, because I made them, was a part of them, and know every single one — I've gone through everything. Every time a new inner circle interview came out, I was the first one to listen to it. Every time a webinar came out and we were doing it on the 15K formula, I was the first one who was on the webinar. Guys, and I'm still telling you, after even going through everything,
there's nothing that you need outside of Empower Network. That you've gone through that marketing information at least twice, because I'm telling you, once you go through it once, there's going to be something else you're going to pick up on the second time around. So get all in, for all of the reasons above. There's so many that I don't even want to take up too much more time talking about it, because I think you get the point. Guys, focus on two sales a day. Is that two all-in sales a day?
No. Two twenty-five-dollar blog systems each day. Focus on that only. Guys, get your bus to San Diego. There's hotel rooms.
Tickets are available. There's no excuse. This is going to be the single biggest online affiliate marketing, network marketing event to hit San Diego and to hit the country. Guys, no internet company has come out and is going to put as many people as we put in San Diego, as far as I know. Guys, we're going to have at least two thousand people out there.
We may have three thousand, guys. There was not a hotel that could hold us out in San Diego. We had to rent the convention center, because if you're not there, then you ain't serious about making six figures a year — excuse me, six figures...
Yeah, six figures a year inside of Empower Network. Guys, the possibilities are endless, and what you're going to experience there — I can't even go into details, guys, because I could be here literally ranting and raving all night about what we experienced in Atlanta and what you're going to see in San Diego is just going to trump it in a way that I can't even describe, guys. The next thing, number four, get your team to San Diego, get your team to San Diego.
If you can put a price, a dollar value for your business on each person over the lifetime of them being inside of your team, by getting them to the event, guys, is going to quadruple their lifetime value. Guys, I want you to think about this, and I'm going to bring out Tony Rush here in a second. He's going to go ahead and tell you: I saw people sitting in the front row who did not believe what we were doing was real. I saw people sitting in that crowd
land upon things, who sold things, who couldn't hardly find people to watch their kids, and they made it. Guys, what they experienced there at that event was — guys, the stories are all over. I'm exhausted because I can't even hardly sleep at night because I'm so excited about the growth and the momentum that we're experiencing right now. Guys, it's nothing like I've ever been a part of. So get your teams to the event.
And the last thing, again, is focus. Guys, you've got to have your own agenda. You've got to stand up for the first time, maybe in a long time, and say, you know what, I'm sick and tired of living everybody else's dreams. I'm sick and tired of going out there every single day. And worrying and focusing and building somebody else's dreams by being a part of their agenda.
Everybody's got to do what they got to do to get where they're going. But that doesn't mean that you have to stay stuck there. What we really believe here is a freedom model. It's about anybody, no matter where you're at, where you've been, what skills that you have, where you come from, what color your skin is, what color your eyes are, what color your hair is, how old you are — doesn't matter. I had, you know, 65, 70-year-old women at this meeting here, this training that I did over in Tampa last week, where I scream, don't be a wussy, and get all in.
That's what we have here at Empower Network. For the first time in a long damn time, people have said, you know what, I'm just going to be nuts and crazy enough to dream again. And that's my real challenge. That's my real question to you: are you nuts? Are you just crazy enough to say, you know what?
It's not too late to go out there and start my own agenda. Living your dreams consists of many different things for many different people. And like I explained to you at the beginning of this call, for me, just a couple of years ago, it was, you know, not having to drive around town in the rustle wagon, not having to start or drive a truck that I had to start with a screwdriver. You know, four and a half years ago, my dream was to, you know, just not have to live on the street, not have to struggle with addiction. I just didn't want to kill myself anymore. Today, my dreams are to go out and help as many people as I possibly can in one hundred and seventy countries around the world earn as much money as possible and have results for maybe the first time in their entire career.
Whether that be marketing results, whether that be becoming an entrepreneur, whether that's earning five figures, six figures — that's my dream, is to help as many people as possible. I'm on an absolute mission. I'm so passionate, I can just — it radiates for me everywhere I go. I'm a different person than I was two years ago, four years ago, and I'm a different person than I was nine months ago, because nine months ago, when we launched Empower Network, it was a possibility that this could go out and make an impact.
We didn't know that so many people felt the same way that we did. We didn't know that so many people were fed up with the traditional bullshit. We didn't know that so many people were fed up with all the hypocrites. We didn't know that so many people were ready for something refreshing, ready for a change. We didn't know that so many people were ready to stand up and say, you know what, I'm tired of all these weedy commissions out here.
I'm tired of all these gurus that are having me out here working and focusing on their agendas. I'm tired of all the same old, same old product launches, crappy product, ridiculous commissions, having me out here running around, grinding, doing three-way calls all day, just working my butt off for ten dollars a day as my first check in network marketing. And I've been building the business for over 30 days with two dollars and fifty cents. I've got people who are coming in here making six hundred and fifty dollars their first week. We've got people like Tracy Walker, who's on her way to forty thousand dollars this month, and God bless that girl, she is a rock star, has never earned the type of money that she deserves. And the man I'm about to bring you out is somebody who I respect and admire so much, and has never earned the type of money that he deserves.
Because this guy is a two hundred and fifty thousand dollar a month earner. And he's been earning his way there. And I hear him clear his throat, because he's about ready to drop some nuggets. Tony, on the line, brother, dude, I'm chomping at the bit. I know, sometimes I'm just exhausted because it's just — first and foremost, all I'm thinking about is the momentum that we're in right now, man.
And if you look at kind of where we're at and what we're doing and look at the numbers, we're about to hit a peak here and we're kind of moving into that stage where we could potentially bring thirty thousand new customers in. Obviously, many of those are also going to become affiliates as well in the next month. We believe we're either going to do it in August or September. And I mean, I scroll through these leaderboards, Tony, every single day. The thing that excites me is not that I see your name on there, because quite frankly, I know what you can do.
You've done it before. I mean, you're well on your way to fifty thousand dollars this month. And I want you guys to really think about that for a second: what fifty thousand dollars a month feels like. But I'm mostly excited because the majority of those people that I see, Tony, I don't know the names to, man, I don't know who they are.
And that tells me these are people — because I know most people in the industry. If you've gotten results, you're doing something in another company, I know who you are because I've got my ear to the streets. I don't block myself off in an office somewhere. So, I mean, one of the things that I want you to talk about — you talk about whatever the heck you want to talk about — but you've got a big team.
And I talked about five things tonight, man. I talked about getting all in. I talked about focusing on getting two sales a day, getting to San Diego, getting people's teams to San Diego, and focusing on marketing and focusing on what they're doing. And if you think about it, that's what every single person who's getting big results is doing. And I know that's pretty much what everybody on your team is doing too.
I think, without exception, who's making big waves — a couple of weeks ago, I had your teammates, Kevin, "the Kinnect" on, and they're great. I actually was talking about them when I was talking about the people in the front row who, you know, I saw crossover. So anyway, I'm going to turn it over to you, pal. Thanks for coming on, man.
Appreciate you. You're a rock star, dude. And I can't wait to see you at freaking a quarter million dollars a month, because you're well on your way there. You got me fired up. Thank you for having me on the call.
And I think what comes up for me is I was sitting here — and I hope you guys have at least a page of notes or two pages of notes. I do, because I'll tell you what's interesting: sometimes you get caught up in the flow of the business. And, you know, it's kind of like — I'm not a runner, I probably should be —
but, you know, if you're a runner, you've probably had that experience of sort of getting really immersed in your own thinking and getting sort of caught up in your own mind, and then all of a sudden, when you kind of come back to the present moment, you think, man, I have really come a long way. I didn't really plan on running this far. And I was aware that I was running. But, man, I'm all the way over here at the high school. I ran a lot farther than I thought I was going to run today because I've just been sort of enjoying my thoughts.
And that's a perfect analogy for the experience that my wife and I have had with Empower Network. I know we got a lot of new people on the line today, so I won't go into my whole story, but the short version of this is: I didn't come to Empower Network as a serious business venture. I actually thought this was going to be a really cool way to make a couple thousand dollars. And I was familiar with David Wood, and I knew of David Sharpe, and I heard they were putting together this program, and I knew they were badasses in the world of marketing. And to be honest with you, in November last year, I felt like my marketing chops were a little rusty. Kevin Kinnect can tell you that I had just got done hosting a training call for my team in this other company that I was in.
And the topic was how to generate leads. What had come up, I found myself giving the same answers to those questions that I had been giving for the last five years. And I hung up the phone and I felt like I had really done my team a disservice, because I was giving them the same tired, old, recycled, you know, go pass out flyers, go put a sign on the side of the road, make a list of people that you know, and all of that. And I wasn't totally a dinosaur. But if you look at the list of stuff that I went over in that call, there was a lot of Jurassic Park marketing on there.
And so when Empower Network came on my radar, I thought, well, this is perfect. This will just be a great way for me to plug in, sharpen my chops up a little bit, find out what's working now, what's working today. And then I kind of put a little more thought into it. I thought, well, you know, I could probably get a lot of leads from my other business to my primary network marketing business. So, long story short, I started following the system that these guys were teaching.
And I'm a little slow sometimes. But at that point, I realized, you know what, more than the money, I'm having fun, because I'm not doing any of this other nonsense that used to occupy all of my day. I was the guy that was grinding. I was on the phone. And you guys know how it is, caller ID and all this other stuff.
I mean, you call 50 leads, or even 45 voicemails. The five people you do manage to speak to can barely put six words together in the proper order. If you've managed to book them to a conference call or a webinar and you call them back, they're not home, or you get the answering machine. It's absolutely a nightmare. And in March, I realized, you know what,
I don't even want to do that as a business anymore. I'm having way more fun over here with David and David, and I'm seeing it grow like wildfire. And so anyway, to come back to what they were saying a moment ago, though, and my analogy about being a runner — I'm sitting here thinking, listening to David lay out these five steps tonight, and it's sort of allowed me to pause for a moment and kind of collect myself and look at how far we've run in the last little bit. And the funny thing is, what Sharp just laid out for you guys is about as close to science as anything I have ever seen in this industry, because he said, there in his second point, focus on getting two people a day.
And so I wondered how many people I've brought in in July. So I ran some numbers while Sharp was talking. And it looks like in the month of July, I have enrolled — not quite two a day — I've enrolled fifty-five people, which I think it'd be cool to go ahead and get to 60, you know, before the end of the month, but fifty-five enrollments in the month of July.
And I think a little over forty-seven — I didn't run the income, but when I ran it earlier today, I think we were at forty-seven thousand something for the month. So if we divide that out, you know, Sharp talked about knowing the lifetime value of a customer. This month, every enrollment that I make, every person that comes in at the twenty-five-dollar level means eight hundred and thirty-nine dollars of future income for me. Not counting pass-ups — that's just counting their upgrades, things like that.
So, pretty staggering. And I look back and I think, all right, well, let me see here. I've been here for six months, I think. Let's see. We're...
We're in July now. So that's seven months, eight months I've been here. And let's see, four hundred fifty-three people divided by eight — I'm averaging fifty-six people per month. So if anything, let me just be a confirmation of what Sharp has already said, and he probably knew these numbers before he invited me to the call, because I'm probably the poster child for basically just "go get two a day."
That really is the business. And I love what Sharp said too, about you don't have to understand how this works. He's right. If you don't understand the pay plan at all, it doesn't matter.
This thing is like a watch. It's a well-tuned watch. It just runs, and you can tell time without having to know how a watch is made. So the game here, guys, is just: go get two a day. You'll get two a day and play full out in your business.
Because that's what I did. I just chose to be all in, and I chose a little late to be all in, and I hemorrhaged a little bit of money. But I had to stop the bleeding pretty quick when I saw this. I heard all commissions were 100%, and I mean, there's a story for another day. But so, a couple — this was all right: if you're all in and you're focused on just getting two a day,
and your focus is on basically just saying yes to your business — this is kind of what's on my mind today. And if I can take a few minutes here to share this with you, I think this may be of assistance, maybe just for some of the newbies on the line too. It's easy when you're brand new to get caught up in "I'm only tracking sales,"
which is a mistake really. I know we all come here for the money, and I love that we're unapologetic about that. By the way, I love the fact that we're just — by God — where you go when you want to make a lot of money and you want to get it done today instead of sitting around, you know, growing a beard, waiting for your check to show up, this is just where we get it done today. That's what Empower Network is about. Now, that said, a lot of times new folks come on board and they've been here for about a week
or two weeks. And they start to feel like, okay, I've been here long enough to start keeping some scores, and I'm an analytical type, I'm a numbers guy.
You know, I like — you can tell already, I've already got my slide ruler out here tonight to figure out my earnings per member and all this jazz. But I'm an analytical type, so I like to keep track of things. But I think sometimes the newbies — and I've made this mistake myself in the past — is that we tend to forget there are different things here. And so sometimes what happens is you get a new person, and this is true of any company really.
But for Empower Network, say somebody's been here for a couple of weeks and they say, you know, Tony, I've been here for two weeks and I'm logging every day. And, you know, I've only got a couple of sales. And I think there's a couple of things that we can speak to about that, because, number one, sales are not the only thing to measure. Sales are the result of doing things a certain way. And there are other things that we can measure before we ever get down to measuring sales.
We can measure things like how many ads have you run today? Right? How many leads have come in today? These are other things that we can measure. And when you're new, those are actually the more important things to measure, when you're brand new, because a lot of success is just: don't quit.
A lot of this game is just basically who's going to stick in here the longest. And I promise you, you cannot do this every single day consistently without getting some serious results, and the longer you hang in, the bigger the results get. So, sometimes when we're new, it's easy to say, you know, I've been blogging every day for the last three weeks and I'm still not making this ton of money. Okay, well, here's different things to measure.
How many times are you writing? How many ads are you running? I'm not that big of a blogger. I love to blog, but I like to go fast. And I know it's a bit of a slow cook.
Sometimes it takes a little time to get that momentum going in the search engines. So I'm real big on, hey, let me get some ads running. You know, let me get some marketing out there. Let me tap into that 15K formula product and take some of those techniques. And let's put my affiliate link in there and plug and play.
Oh, and look, now I've got 200 leads that come in. That's fun to me. So there's all kinds of things to measure. How many ads do you have out there? How many leads do you have coming in?
You know, what are you saying in your emails? Are you sending something to your email list every day? And here's the thing, when you start measuring those things and you're sort of firing on all the cylinders, these sales are automatic. It's like flowers in springtime, they just happen.
But they don't happen if you're only focused on the sales. It's kind of like you're just so focused on keeping track of the number of sales that you're not doing the planting, you're not doing the fertilizing, you're not watering your crop and things like that. So I think just a little something for the newbies tonight, in addition to what's already been covered. You know, I think a big part of this is to adopt the mindset that what you're doing is saying yes to your business. I want you to write that down. Every time you choose to be on a call — you're on tonight — you're saying yes to your business.
It's about momentum. What you're doing is what we're all doing as a company collectively, which Sharp was just talking about. But individually, our job is to create momentum. So how do we do that? Well, think about it like, you know, a snowball or a big boulder. It takes a lot of effort at first, sometimes, to see it moving.
But once it's moving, it's easier to move, right? And then it takes on a life of its own, and you cannot stop it if you wanted to. And that's how Empower Network works. This is actually — well, so how do we get it moving?
Well, it's about saying yes to your business. That's all that is. Actually, the game here is: how often do you say yes to your business? Because every time you say yes, you create momentum. And every time you say no to your business, you're slowing things down.
So, okay, Tony, kind of get it — what's an example? Well, I'll give you an example. One example is the question, you know, should I place another ad today?
Say yes to your business. The boulder starts moving a little faster. That's an easy one, right? Should I be all in? Yes.
When you say yes to your business, you're creating more momentum. You've invested more of yourself emotionally, you've invested more of yourself financially, and there's something that just happens when you've got people that are willing to take their foot off the brake and they just play full out. Magic happens. And I've had this conversation a thousand times in my career, but like, if somebody comes to me and says, Tony, if I give it, you know, ninety-nine percent, will I get ninety-nine percent of your results?
And the answer is no. If you give it ninety-nine percent, and somebody else is giving a hundred percent — you know what, I can't really even promise you'll get any results at all, because I don't know which bit you're going to leave out, I don't know which part you're going to say no to your business about. But there's something that just is amazing that happens when you see somebody just take their foot off the brake and just say, I'm all in. And, you know, I love that phrase, but "all in" is not just buying all the products here.
Being all in is a mindset shift. It says, I am all in. I'm all chips in. It's a shift in who you're being. And it's a powerful thing.
Nothing else can replace that. So when the question comes up in your mind, "should I be all in," and you say yes, it's not just that you made the decision to buy the products, because here's the thing, the products are going to be phenomenal. They're unlike literally anything else I've ever seen in the training industry. But do you guys get that you have to be a certain kind of person to say, yes, I'm all in?
And it's actually the magic of being that person that starts attracting all this wonderful prosperity into your life. It's the decision to be all in. It's actually where a big chunk of the magic lives. It's just being the kind of person who'll say, you know what, I'm going all in. The question of "should I be in San Diego?"
Of course you should be in San Diego. When you say yes, you create momentum. And here's the thing, I totally get it — I talked about this in Atlanta, and I won't go into it in detail tonight, but I totally get that there are a lot of people that say, well, if I have unlimited resources, I would say yes to my business all day long. But what do you do when you've got budget considerations, and what do you do if you don't have resources?
What do you do if you're behind the eight ball financially, and it was already a stretch to get in on the basics? Well, here's the thing for those people: you're not short of money. You're short of ideas. There's absolutely no shortage of money. You can absolutely be all in the next 24 hours if you choose to.
What it's going to take is the ability to sit down and look at your problem. In this case, it would be going all in, or doing whatever it is you need to do to say yes. What's your business about? When you say, all right, let me sharpen my pencil here, I'm going to come up with 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 ways
to be able to make this decision. So that's where I was at. I was in a situation a few years ago where I needed, in that company, sixteen hundred dollars that I needed to get started in this business. And I was two months late on my rent. We were eating at home, no eating out.
You know, it was like ramen noodles on the menu a little more often than they should have been. I was, you know, late on everything. And here I am — the most irresponsible thing in the world would be to come up with sixteen hundred dollars; the business is totally unreasonable. Which is why it worked. Being unreasonable is a powerful place to be.
And what I did was, I sat down and I said, you know, if I need sixteen hundred dollars, all right, well, who can I borrow sixteen hundred from, or who's two people I can borrow eight hundred from, or who's four people I could get four hundred from? You know, maybe my sister would let me put it on her credit card. And that way I'm not tying up her money or mine. Write that down. Or maybe if she put it on her card and I was willing to pay her, say, 10 percent interest in 30 days.
And I was right. Bottom line is, within about thirty minutes, I had about 20 good ideas, and the second idea on my list gave me the money that I needed to get started in that business. And that business didn't pay crap compared to what we've got here. And I still had all that money back in my pocket in about ten days.
And I totally changed my life. But I did it because I said yes to my business. That's what the key was there. I just said, I'm not going to say I can't do it. I'm going to ask, how can I do it?
It's just a big chunk of what it means to create momentum here. And Empower Network is just about being someone who says yes to your business. And it's a beautiful thing, because we see people every day — I think every day in my team, you know, Brian, my buddy Brian Newsom, who got on a bus in Chicago and rode 17 hours to Atlanta to be at that event.
And I think, you know what, I don't have any excuses. We had the guy in Atlanta who had to have emergency surgery on his knee, and he told his doctor, you know what, emergency or not, I'm going to have to schedule this for about a week from now, I'm not going to die in a week and I've got someplace I've got to be. And this guy and his wife were sitting on the front row in Atlanta. You talk about inspirational. That just fuels me to no end when I see people who just say yes to their business and their goals and their dreams.
It fires me up. It totally fires me up. And to those of you who are doing that, I thank you, because you're inspiring me. You know, I see people just doing amazing things in this business, and it fuels me to no end. And sometimes I think that there's some people who get the idea that there's some velvet rope,
and if you're somebody like Chris Campbell or Tracy Walker or Doherty or Tam, or, you know, some of these people that are just pocketing monster dollars, there's some idea that they're different, that behind that rope things are just different. But you know what? It's not true. I'm as inspired by you as I hope I am to you. Because when I see you guys saying yes to your business, when I see you guys believing in yourselves, it just totally affirms every decision I've made in this business, that this Empower Network —
it is well named. This is about — this is where you come to be empowering and to be empowered, because at the end of the day, we're all going to make a whole bunch of money here. But, and I've said it before, this is a leadership factory disguised as a business opportunity. Everybody comes here for the money, but what you get, like when you really get this flow going and this momentum, and you're saying yes to your business as many times as you possibly can, even something as small as being
on this call tonight — you know, there was something on TV tonight probably. Yet some of you are here because you sat down and had a conversation with your spouse and said, hey, honey, I'm doing this Empower Network thing, we've got a call tonight, I'm going to be unavailable for about an hour. Or you had to sit down with your kids, and your spouse this week, and say, you guys, we're starting a new business, to be a little bit different here — I'm not going to be able to do some of the evening stuff that I've been doing, because I work in the day and I'm going to work on this business in the evening.
I want you to know that, say, I'm doing this for us as a family. I'm doing this so that mom can get out of that job, or I'm doing this so that we can — in the process of doing this, so that you can get those braces. I'm doing this so the cheerleading uniform this fall and the band instruments are not a problem. I'm doing this so I can live my life on purpose. And let me share something with you guys.
And I know I'm all over the map as far as topic, but if there's anything I could give you tonight, moms and dads — if I could just talk to the moms and dads for a second — because when I got this, it totally robbed me of all my excuses. Every excuse I had for being broke. This thing will tell the kids, you can be, do, or have anything you choose.
Kids aren't stupid. And it's only a matter of time before our kids see us playing small. Only a matter of time before our kids notice that, you know, mom and dad tell me I can have anything I want if I'm willing to take responsibility and work for it, but I don't see mom and dad going for their dreams. Kids aren't stupid, especially today.
They are observant. They are astute. And they may never say anything. They may never, ever call you on it. But when I realized that my boys were watching me — I have three boys —
we're raising men here, is what we're trying to do here at the Rush household. And when I realized that, I don't know what I said, I realized that if I want my son to grow up actually believing what I tell him, I better, by God, get off my rear and go live my dreams. Because you can't fake them out. You can pull it off for a while when they're small, you know, like me and Pete standing in Toys "R" Us when he was seven years old, and him pointing at an action figure, and me about to bust out crying because I didn't have seven dollars and twenty-five cents to buy the darn thing.
So what I do is I put my arm around my little boy. And I say, boy, that is nice, son, that's — that's something maybe we'll get for your birthday. Maybe that'd be good for Christmas. And the truth was, I didn't have any money.
I had no business even going into Toys "R" Us, except I just got tired of saying no. But that's the thing, guys — this saying no, I got tired of having to say no all the time to everything. I got tired of being the husband
who sometimes had to look at my wife and say, honey, not only can I not get you what you want, but I can't even provide what you need. Guys, we're warts and all here at Empower Network. Hopefully I didn't intend on taking the call in this direction, but there's my heart — it's for families, it's for people to take a stand, for people just like you and I.
This life is not a dress rehearsal, this is it. If you're going to do it, we've got to, by God, get it done. And we don't have time to Mickey Mouse around for three to five years, earning a dollar and thirty-seven cents when somebody buys a case of some miracle fruit juice. And I'm not disparaging anybody. You know what?
People can earn money any way. That's fine, if people want to work in traditional MLM and they want to do personal care and nutrition and all that, that's fine. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that. But it is a choice. So you can make twenty thousand dollars a month, and you can do it, say, five years from now, which I don't really think anybody's going to sign on for that deal —
not on this call, because 2017 is a long way away. Or you can make twenty thousand dollars a month in August. It really is a choice. Because I'm sitting here looking at my numbers, and all I know is that this thing has run just like David Sharpe and David Wood told me it would. They said, Tony, if you're going to do two a day, this thing will run itself.
It'll take care of itself. All you need to do is show up, do two a day, and just let us take care of the rest of it. Guys, this is not normal. We've got moms and dads who are reclaiming their lives.
We've got husbands bringing their wives home from work. We've got wives bringing their husbands home from work. It's real and it's happening. We've got people that are taking care of medical bills that they thought would be hanging over their heads for the rest of their lives, and now all of a sudden they're paying these bills off, and it's residual — they're paying off cancer treatments, all kinds of things are getting paid off. Empower Network's doing it.
Just said yes to their business, and that's all this is. Something to look at my numbers tonight, and I'm in a total state of gratitude, because it looks to me like I've averaged about 55 people a month since I've been here, and I did it again this month, and we'll do 50,000 before midnight tomorrow night. I have no doubt about it. So all I can tell you is this, guys, it really is that simple. And if there's any voice in your head that's making this more complicated than it needs to be, please understand one thing.
It is your old mindset fighting for its life. And it does sound a bit like your voice, but it's not you. It's your old mindset that is arguing for you to stay where you are, in the comfort zone. And it looks like you, it sounds like you — in some cases it may be your dad. That little voice may sound like your mom.
It may sound like that person in your life who says you're never good enough. It may sound like one of those old haunting ghosts that hang around in our mind that tell us we'll never be good enough. We'll never be able to be more than we are. We've all got these little ghosts in our mind. You know, the thing is, what you've got to get good at is making a distinction between who you really are, which is this badass, powerful giant, capable of living your life on purpose with no limits,
and making a distinction between that reality and this fiction, this falsehood that we've been holding onto so hard — that you can't make money unless you work real, real, real hard, and that you have to work real, real, real hard for at least four to five, six to 10, to 15, 20 years. Right? And none of that's real. We've made every bit of that up. We either made it up, or we bought into somebody else's beliefs about that.
Quick story, and I better come in for a landing this week — a friend of mine down in Florida had invited me to participate in a network marketing group on Facebook. And I like the guy, he's a super nice guy, but it was sort of a really big open group, and I thought, you know, this is not going to go well for me. I will give it my best shot, but I know some of the mindsets that are going to exist in this network marketing group, because —
let's be honest, it is what it is — the basic core message of traditional MLM is that it takes, you know, three to five years to build an army of consumers. And if you earn a little bit on all these thousands of people, then one day you'll be able to retire.
And I came away from this experience — I lasted in the group a little while, but the first conversation that came up, somebody said something about — well, these things that everybody's selling, those things don't work. You can waste a lot of time and money believing in these systems, because at the end of the day, it takes hard work and persistence, and you've got to pay your dues, as the phrase goes. I thought, pay my dues? Really, somebody still believes that?
So that's a fairy tale for you — you've got to pay your dues. There's no dues. There's no dues to pay, you just have to show up and provide value. There's no fees attached to that. You just have to be a person. And so, sure enough, I just couldn't let that go on as long as I could, and I finally said, you know, the interesting thing is when you hear somebody saying something can't be done, they're usually interrupted by somebody who's doing it, because I haven't made a darn phone call in about seven months.
And I'm making anywhere from — I think my best day last week was a little over four thousand dollars, I think my lowest day was eleven hundred. And I'm not grinding, I'm not out doing three-way calls, I'm not chasing friends and family, and I'm not doing any of the stuff that I used to do that kept me broke. And I had a realization, and this is interesting to me. You know, you know how you felt when you first learned that you could make money from home? I'm preaching to the choir a little bit here, but you remember, like when you learned that you don't have to work the forty-year plan, the idea of working 40 hours a week for 40 years to get a gold watch, or whatever — you know, remember the realization, maybe it was some kind of a meeting where you saw somebody drawing circles on the whiteboard or the back of a napkin, and somebody said, hey, if you get three, and they get three, and they get three, and they get three,
you can make a lot. That was a big realization for all of us, wasn't it? I remember I was in Ramsdorf, North Carolina, at a Melaleuca meeting, and I saw this guy drawing these circles on a whiteboard — Doug Langley was his name. And I said, oh my God, I'm going to be rich. And here's what's funny, you know, like once you escape the Matrix, so to speak, and you get out of that rat race and you get over here to the home business industry, you know how frustrating it is to look at employee-minded people and say, my God, I just wish I could just flip a switch and get them thinking straight, because I'm not alone in that.
Am I not? Somebody nod with me. Okay, you guys know what it's like to be totally sold on making money from home and totally disgusted by the idea of working at a job, and you think, God, I wish I could just unplug people from the Matrix, because it's so much better to be able to control your income and not be at the effect of an employer or a company that can lay you off. And, you know, over here in the home-based business industry, we can control our incomes and we can go as high as we want to without all the politics and all the stuff that goes on in corporate America. And it's a challenging experience sometimes to want something more for someone else than they want for themselves.
Well, here's the funny thing. I feel that way. I really do. I feel that way when I see people that are slinging vitamins and other products, and again, I'm not disparaging —
I know people can earn any way they want, but I think a lot of people, the only reason they're not in Empower Network is because they don't know about it yet. And if they have heard about it, it's like they can't quite get their head around the idea. They are so clinging on to the idea that, well, no, no, I'm supposed to make phone calls. I'm supposed to meet people down at the coffee shop and draw circles on napkins.
And, you know, if you sell somebody a hundred-dollar product and you make a hundred dollars on that, there's got to be something wrong with that. That can't work. No, I think I'll just stay over here with my XYZ International, where I've been for twenty-two years and I've never made more than four hundred dollars in a month. But I got a picture in the company magazine back in nineteen eighty-four. And that's good enough for me and Harriet, or whatever.
Right. I really do — my heart goes out to these people, because I think, God, if they could just reach down and get the same kind of courage that got them out of the forty-year plan into the five-year plan, if they could just pull that stunt one more time and get out of the five-year plan and get over here into the five-month plan,
then him and Harriet could go on a cruise every month if they want to, not just once a year when they have to pay to go to the convention. You know, him and Harriet wouldn't have to worry about chasing their friends and family and slinging the next latest, greatest weight-loss product or whatever. If they could just get over here and find out, hey, 100 percent commissions — you don't have to chop up all your commissions between you and 20 people above you. And so my heart goes out to people, and I've got to be honest, I mean, I take small ownership of my Empower Network business.
I'm proud of what has been created here. And I'm thrilled beyond belief to feel like I'm sort of part of the culture here, just by being a poster child of what's possible. But when I look around at the network marketing industry, and I see so many people who are grinding it out — that just fires me up for just one more day.
I want to be a footnote in somebody's story. You know, I want to be a footnote in something, like, say, Kevin, Kevin Kinnect, you know, I mean, I've known Kevin for years and he's been around this industry as long as I have or longer. But I love the fact that I'm a little footnote in his story, that him and Melissa decided to get out of an old model and come over here to Empower, and they're at twenty-something thousand dollars for the month, and I think Kevin and Melissa have been here for about three or four months now. You know, I love being a little footnote in Kevin Powell's story. Kevin got over here and did, you know, sixteen hundred dollars in his second week.
I love that. So to me, I'll close with this. I think the opportunity that we all have here tonight is to play full out in our business. No excuses. If you're a mom and dad, be mindful of the fact that we've got some eyes watching us, and you can't fake this stuff. If you're not going to play full out in your own life and you're not going to live your dreams, then you don't need to be telling other people to do that.
You don't need to be telling your teenagers to do it, because they're watching you and they know when we're not in integrity. They know when we're not living what we say. And then the third thing is just follow those five steps that Sharp gave you at the top of the call, because that's how we rescue people from the Matrix — from both matrices. So anyway, Sharp, I'm just going to come in for a landing here.
So I'm going to come in for a landing right there. Are you with me? I'm patient, brother. Come on back out here, man. I'm pumped up.
I can listen to you for another two hours, man. Well, right on, man, I tell you, I want to publicly thank you. And I would — because one last thing, if you don't mind — you guys didn't play small. You guys, everybody thinks you guys are ten feet tall and bulletproof.
And I kind of do too. But at the same time, I do know that you're not — you know, you're human. For a human, I know that you've got some — there were moments when things were hard.
You know, there were moments when you might not have been quite sure how things were going to work out. And so, here's the thing, man, I just look at what you and David have done. The decision you guys made to say yes to your business — you could have put your foot on the brake at some point. You know, you could have said no to your business in some way.
And if that had happened, we wouldn't have all those forty thousand people, you know, in seven months, and have paid out millions of dollars. You would have negatively affected thousands of people in this company if you guys had ever for a moment chosen to either play small or put your foot on the brake. And I just — I honor you and I appreciate you and David Wood both, for being men of integrity who actually are a little bit foolish enough to actually just go for it, even when everything in you is screaming danger, danger, because it's a beautiful thing you guys have created here, man. And I appreciate being a part of it.
Well, man, we didn't create it without you, bro. And we didn't create it without everybody here, man. And I'll tell you what, there was a lot of times when there was a lot of fear, and there has been a lot of times, and even still happens, where the danger alerts were going off. But, you know, the truth of the matter is, not only today, man, am I not willing to say no to my business, but, you know, quite frankly, these days, and this is just as important as saying yes or no to my business —
I'm not willing to say no to your business, bro. So I appreciate you, man. Right on, man. Thanks for having me out. I appreciate it.
Yeah, you got it, guys. Here's the fact, and you know what, I was pacing back and forth as Tony was talking because I was just pumped up. You know, I was thinking about it.
I was thinking about something that happens in my life. You know, my daughter just went on a month-and-a-half vacation. She traveled up and saw some family up north, and then traveled up and went to New York with my mom and saw my mom's side of the family. And, you know, she got back. And for that reason, I'm not willing to say no to my business.
That month and a half, I got a lot of stuff done, and I was kind of running around. And it was kind of a little bit of a summer for me too. It was pretty cool. For those of you who don't know my full story, I didn't always have my daughter. I had my daughter when I was 16 years old.
And, you know, throughout my struggles, I had a lot of years where, you know, I really, really, really gave up the opportunity — the greatest opportunity that I've ever been given, which is to be a role model, to influence a little girl and be a daddy. And, you know, finally, you know, four and a half years ago, when I turned my life around, you know, I got my daughter back in my life. And, you know, it's been this amazing journey being a father and coming full circle and, you know, having this little girl in my life who looks to me for protection and guidance and sometimes looks to me as somebody to get mad at or frustrated with. And she mostly looks to me for love, and just, you know, somebody who she can lean on and somebody who's going to be there for her, and somebody who's not going to give up on her.
And she's the one who sat with me and listened to me pace around the house on these conference calls, you know, for as many years as I've been doing them. And she's the one who's experienced all the struggles with me. And the cool thing is, today, you know, she got back from her vacation a couple of weeks ago. Every single day — and of course, it's summer vacation —
I want you to think about this for a second. Every single day she comes up to me and she says, Daddy, what are we going to do today? Daddy, what are we going to do today? And every single day I have the opportunity and the choice to say, well, honey, we are going to go ride jet skis, or honey, we're going to go to a concert, or honey, I've got to go into the office for a little bit today and talk to a couple of people.
But after that, we're going to go do this. And every day I have the choice to say to her whatever I want to say to her. And the cool thing is, she comes to me seven days a week and says the same exact thing, because to her, no day is any different than the other. There is no Monday through Friday where she goes to summer camp or she goes to school and daddy's got to go to work and can't pick her up till six or seven o'clock. I want you to think about that for a second.
I want you to think about what being involved in my business, saying yes, like Tony was talking about, and not giving up on my dreams, has given me the ability to do. It's not only given me the ability to be able to impact and influence people, tell my story and make a real, true impact on somebody's life who's maybe struggling with some of the same things that I'm struggling with, or has maybe struggled inside of their business, but it's given me the opportunity to really be the dad that I've always dreamed of being. It's really given me the opportunity to be able to build a relationship and provide things for my daughter that's way far and beyond the things that I ever imagined were important.
A lot of times when I was growing up, or I was dreaming about being a dad, when I was out there struggling and grinding in life, homeless on the streets, battling my own inner demons, a lot of the things that I dreamed about being a dad had to do with saving for a college fund, or being able to buy my daughter a car, or being able to send her to the best schools. But the truth of the matter is, I send my daughter to public schools. I don't spoil her and get her anything she wants. I have the opportunity every day to be able to be a dad for her. And to me, that's more important.
That's more valuable than anything that I could ever wish for, dream of, or even imagine. And I can tell you that it was just a few short years ago, guys, that I was in a situation where I wasn't even — I didn't even see that in my future. I couldn't even taste that or smell that. There was a time back just a couple of years ago where I didn't even know if I was going to be able to be a dad to my daughter. There were a couple of times back a couple of years ago where I had the thought that I just wasn't good enough, that it was never going to happen for me, that I just didn't have what it took.
Society, and myself, just my own negative thinking, had molded me into this person that just had so much disbelief and said no to my life and my family every single day, that I didn't know if I was ever going to be able to get out of it. And then I stepped foot into what I call the same thing that Tony calls the leadership factory. But back then it wasn't Empower Network. Back then it was just finding the right people at the right time and kind of forcing my way into circles. It was kind of like the experience that you get if you come down to the Costa Rica intensive, if you meet us out in San Diego, where you get an opportunity to network with the best of the best and surround yourself with people who are going to believe in you until you can believe in yourself, people who are going to show you how to build a business, people who are going to tell you and mentor you and coach you to the type of success that not only you desire, but you deserve.
We've made eight thousand dollars a month look weenie. That is our aim, and our goal, is to create the same type of earners like Tony Rush is experiencing right now. You're darn right, Tony Rush, that's a fifty-thousand-dollar-per-month earner, not just a guy. And I remember so many companies that I've been in where the guy crosses the stage and gets the fifty-thousand-dollar check one month because he participated in a promotion. He had eight thousand people in his downline, and he went out and dragged every single person to the home or hotel meeting.
He was on three-way calls twenty-six hours a day to hit that promotion and hit fifty thousand dollars per month one month, and talked about it for the next 20 years. Guys, you just heard from a fifty-thousand-dollar-per-month earner — think about that. And we're just getting started. Guys, our goal is to create a new thirty-thousand-dollar-per-month earner every single day. But, you know, the money is good, the money is great.
And initially, most often, that really good training and really good product is what attracts people to us. But when they get inside, they realize that we're a bunch of really, really real, raw people who are dealing and struggling with the same type of issues they're struggling with, whether that's fatherhood, motherhood, being involved in dysfunctional families, struggling with different skeletons in the closet, whether you have an addiction, whether you have an issue with gambling, whether you have an issue with overeating, whatever the case may be. You have the opportunity, the ability to be yourself. We're going to love you for it. We're going to encourage you and empower you to be who you are.
And we're going to tell you not to go and be somebody else. But the best gift that you can give the world, your business, your team, your prospects, is to simply be yourself. Guys, the reason why we're growing so fast is because people feel damn good about what we're doing here, and they feel good. They feel really just authentic and transparent about building a business here. That, my friends, is something that doesn't come around very often.
If you want to wear a suit, you're welcome to, but you're not required. If you never want to cuss, that's fine. But if you want to cuss on stage, that's fine too, because, you know, and the reason why I don't prep people, the reason why I don't talk to Tony or anybody else I bring out on stage or on a conference call before I talk to them, is because what we do here comes from the heart. And I know the best thing that I can say to you is not premeditated. It's not prethought.
It's absolutely 100% from the heart and from the soul. And that's what Empower Network was built on. It was built on the heart, the soul, the blood, the sweat, the tears. Over 40,000 people in 170 different countries. And the question that you have tonight is, are you ready to take your business seriously?
And are you ready to be the next person in Empower Network that hits six figures a month? That's the question you've got to ask yourself, because there's five simple steps to get there, and that's getting all in, getting two sales a day, getting to San Diego, getting your team to San Diego, and focusing — laser hard, 100% — on what you're doing here at Empower Network. Guys, the next 54 days leading up to San Diego is the most important 54 days of your entire life. How do I say that? You say, I've got so many things going on in my life.
I've got kids, school starting back up, doctor's appointments, work, job, people, church. What you do in the next 54 days affects all of that. When you cross over from where you're at right now, making six figures a month — or excuse me, six figures a year — your life changes, something changes.
Now, there are a couple of other plateaus, a couple of other points where your life really kind of starts to take a major turn, but that first change, that first major change, is when you go from what you're doing right now to earning six figures a year, not out of your job. On your own, as an entrepreneur. Not total, not combined — inside your business, inside of Empower Network. Everything becomes affected by it.
You begin to stop worrying about where your bill money is coming from. You're able to do things like what Shalonda Gordon, I believe is her name, was able to do — like paying her mortgage with the money that she made from Empower Network. You'd be able to do things like what Pastor David Duncan did, which was go out and travel and take his wife after they had a tragedy happen inside of their life. They live, I believe, in North or South Carolina.
He wasn't able to make it to Atlanta because he had some personal things going on. But he's darn sure going to, just out of respect, make it to San Diego. He was able to take his wife after they lost their daughter in a car accident. His wife was in a coma for a couple of months.
He was able to take her on vacation. I believe it was maybe even their honeymoon. I'm not sure. Buy a brand-new truck. Guys, if you go and get inside of a Facebook group, you'll see the testimonials, the comments, you'll see them stack up, pile up one after another, of people who are doing bigger things and experiencing more successful results than they've ever experienced before.
And the proof is there. It's in the pudding. It's not about the one leader. I see all of these marketers all the time who are just selling all of these big stories about how much they can do for you, and just all these numbers. And the fact of the matter is, everything that we say is backed up by proof.
Everything that we do, the proof is in the pudding. Everything that we do, you can back up and check us against. And we've done that because of you, because of the people, because of the results that you've gone out and got, because you've said yes to your business, like what Tony was talking about, because you've kept it simple. My goal here is to get you to realize that getting results inside of your business is much more simple than you think it is. And most of the time, people are always overlooking the obvious.
The answer, the solution, is right in front of you. And it's up to you whether you want to overthink it and complicate it and overanalyze it, and go out there and spend hours, days, months, and possibly even years looking for the clues to the answer to the question that is right in front of you. And it's so very obvious. It's five steps.
It's getting all in. It's getting two sales a day, getting to San Diego, getting your team to San Diego, and focusing one hundred percent, laser-focused, on what you're doing here at Empower Network. We've got people here, and I just saw a comment inside the Facebook group of people who say — and again, this is not my words — "When I follow the eight core commitments, I get results. When I don't, I don't." There are always choices.
In life, and in every single thing you do, you've always got a choice. And I realized that every single thing was up to me, that I was not a victim of circumstances, that I was not a victim of my childhood, that I was not a victim of the situation that I was in. I'm not a victim of my parents or my kids, my friends or my neighbors or society or the government. When I realized that I was responsible for my success and I was responsible for my life, and I realized that I had choices, everything changed.
I got clean. I turned my life around. I got my daughter back. I got a house. I got a car.
I got another house. I got another car. I got a business. I failed. I struggled, but I knew it was my choice.
I knew it was my responsibility. And you're darn right, there were people that were looking at me. There were people who were looking up to me. There were people who were relying on me not to quit. There were people who were relying on me not to give up on myself, not to give up on them.
You realize that you are the hope for somebody. You are somebody's inspiration. Your story is going to affect somebody. Somebody is counting on you to follow through. Somebody is counting on you to get up every day and make it happen.
And you may not even know that they exist, because they may not even tell you. Somebody may be counting on you and you don't even know it. Maybe it is your kids. Maybe you think you've got a problem.
Maybe you think you've got an issue. Maybe you think that — maybe they hate you. Maybe they don't. And they're just being kids.
Maybe they're counting on you. I speak from personal experience, because where I've come from, I've dealt with more pain and hardship, most of it brought on by myself. And you know that most pain and hardship in life is brought on by ourselves. Do you know that there are no victims in life? Do you know that whether I make six figures a year, six figures a month, or six dollars a year, it's up to me and it's my responsibility to make that happen.
That is an empowering concept when you swallow it. It's a big pill to swallow at first for some people, because for so many of us, we've been living for so long thinking that it's everybody's fault around us that we are where we're at, whether it's our fathers. I've worked with people. I work with addicts. I work with homeless people.
I work with people who are not supposed to recover. I work with people who even the system has said are unable to be rehabilitated. I've seen them turn their lives around. I've seen them start saying yes to life. I've seen them say yes to themselves.
I've seen them start believing in themselves. I've seen them start to grow some self-esteem, self-confidence. I've seen people who walked into places and couldn't even look people in the eye. And they realized that life was their decision. They woke up, somebody shook them a little bit and said, wake up, life is your choice.
Nobody else's fault, and I'm counting on you. You know, that's what my daughter said to me, and she didn't even have to say it. I didn't realize it for a long time. That's what my mother, my father, all of the people — look, I come from a family that puts "fun" in "dysfunction."
You think that I don't know and haven't experienced every single thing that you can possibly experience with family, with friends, with neighbors, with my surroundings? You're kidding yourself. You're in the wrong place. I know what it's like, and I know that everything that I do is a choice. And I know that everything that you do is a choice.
You wake up and realize that life is literally in the palm of your hand, and that you can literally create anything that you want to create, because you are far more powerful than you even know that you are. Life becomes this abundant playground for you, and you stop living in a lack mentality, full of fear, always fearing what's going to happen, or what's going to happen if this doesn't happen, or what's going to happen if I go to San Diego and I don't know where I'm staying, or I don't know where I'm going to get the money from, or I don't know who I'm going to be. And you get there. It's abundance that's shown to you, that's given to you. Why?
Because you decided, because you took responsibility, because you realized it was your choice, that you really do create your own destiny. Sometimes it can be an unconscious choice that's forced upon us by somebody who's already walked in the path before us, that if you follow and listen to their lead,
you can experience the same things, and it will work whether you understand it or not, just like I said earlier. And then one day, hindsight 2020, you'll look back. And the power, the breakthrough will come when you find yourself telling it to somebody else. You'll know.
"Shoot, I got it." Sometimes it's happening and you don't even know it. Sometimes you're making these breakthrough decisions, you're becoming the person that you're always meant to be, and you don't even know it. And somebody has to point it out to you.
But they can't do that if you're not in the game, and you're not surrounding yourself with winners all around you all the time. Do you think that they say that your net worth is going to be dependent on your network, and your income is going to be in direct proportion to the five people that you hang around with the most? Do you think those clichés and those things have been around for as many years as they've been around because they aren't true? You're fooling yourself if that's what you think. There are some people on this call who have been telling themselves the same old, played-out story for so long that they've begun to believe it.
There are people on the line tonight who actually believe the lie they tell themselves — who have fallen into this stinking, freaking thinking that the world owes you something.
That you're going to walk out and there's just going to be something that should be waiting on you, and you shouldn't have to decide. You shouldn't have to take any risk, or you should never have to make any choices. I love what Tony says, because there ain't no dues to pay. There's just responsibility to take. There's just choices to make.
And when you learn that those choices are the absolute most empowering thing that you can experience — to make those choices for yourself, get up every single day and say, I am going to live my life the way I was meant to today. I am going to love openly today. I am going to go out there and make a difference today. I am going to go out there and say yes to my business today. I am going to go out there and make two sales today.
I am going to go out there and get 20 leads today. I am going to be in San Diego and I'm bringing my whole darn team with me. That's when life becomes fun. That's when life becomes empowering.
That's when life starts to shift for you, change for you. And that's when the money starts to flow, because it follows you when you move fast and you take chances, it follows you when you make decisions and you learn to love choices, it follows you when you become the leader in your own life. We so often talk about leaders inside of network marketing. Let me tell you something. First, you've got to learn how to become a leader to yourself and stop relying and depending on the world to make the decisions for you.
Nobody's going to raise your kids for you. Nobody's going to put food on your table. Nobody's going to pay your bills. And if you want to be stuck in the Matrix prison for your entire life, and then realize once you get to what you thought was the end of the rainbow that it's really nothing but the beginning of another rainbow, then that's your business. But if you want to come in here, get all in, and start living your dreams today,
that's our business. My friends, my name's David Sharp. I come from a place that is absolute hell. That's more pain, more struggle than I ever imagined or wish on my worst enemy. And today, my friends, I make a choice.
I make the decision to get up and say yes, every single day, to not only myself, not only you, not only my daughter, not only my business, not only the entire world and anybody who's ready to hear an honest message, but I'm here and I'm in it to win it. And my friends, I will — I'm here to see you in freaking San Diego, guys.
I'm going to unmute the lines. You better scream your heads off. I love you guys. And I'm looking forward to shaking your hands. It's 100 percent commission.
