So I am in multiple businesses. My basic MO is I'm going to join a company, network marketing company. You know, people throw this word out, momentum, all the time. And it's like, what the heck does that mean? Well, to me, what that means is the team that we have put together over the years is producing a result much bigger than the attrition rate.

Because, see, people are going to join and quit all the time for whatever the reasons are. You know, they either don't want to do it or they found something, you know, a shiny nickel rolled across the floor and they got all distracted and they start chasing it. Maybe they died. Who knows? But people are going to join and people are going to quit all the time.

But momentum to me is the team is bringing more people into the business on a daily basis than are quitting on a daily basis. So every month we have a net growth. Well, when that happens to me, that's momentum. So now I know that next month and the month after that and the month after that, my income will continue to grow 100% independent of me. So it doesn't matter if I roll out of bed.

Or if I roll over in bed, the income is going to continue to grow. You know, ladies and gentlemen, now you all understand what I mean when you when I say if you've never heard Rob for speak before. Now you're understanding my intro. Well, it was the craziest thing. You know, I'm 50 years old.

I got a whole bunch of gray hair to figure it out. And it's just kind of funny when we look back in history. You know, hindsight is like the perfect magnifying clarification glass. We can look backwards and go, oh, well, I should have done this or I should have done this.

Or maybe it would have played out better if I would have done this. So, you know, it's all these lessons learned. You know, so now they say, you know, gray hair is a sign of wisdom. I don't know about all that. Battle scars more like it.

Yeah. Battle scars. Yeah. But it's been incredibly fun. And so what I do, because, you know, people ask me all the time, well, Rob, should I try to build multiple businesses?

I got a high end deal and I got a low end deal. So if they can't afford the high end deal, should I promote the low end deal? And I usually tell people absolutely not. I mean, it's hard enough to focus to happen. See, most of us have full time lives, full time careers and kids and spouses and holidays and chores and all this stuff.

And then we got to figure out, you know, a guy told me one time you're going to make your living eight to five and you'll create a lifestyle from five to midnight. And so, you know, we just don't have a lot of time to put into building a business. So to build two or three of them. Now, did you hear that just fall? That was my brain.

Nobody move. Drop my brain. Hang on. Got it back. It's a little tiny thing.

So you got to watch where you step. You know, so it's so I forgot what I was talking about now. So the whole idea. I did literally forget what I was talking about. What was I talking about, Chris?

Oh, my goodness. I'm laughing so much about the brain drop and I forgot to. Well, when I dropped the brain, it rattled it. Yeah, the thing went. So we were talking about multiple streams.

Oh, so people ask me all the time, you know, you know, will you build two things? Because I am in multiple companies as I know, I'm going to pick a company. So now I can actually get my time back. The income continues.

On and then I'm going to pick a different company. A different opportunity, a different program to create that second stream. So it's not like we have multiple streams. We focus all of on them at one time and each one gets a little tiny effort. We hope magic happens.

Now we focus on one. We get it to where it needs to go. Then we find out how to automate it. Step back from it. Get our time back and then go add another one.

And that was a lesson I had to learn along the way as well because we would get so many. Plate spinning kind of like this little thing you might see at the circus where they spin, you know, and they get 24 plates. Spinning, you wonder how they actually keep these things going.

Well, eventually if you get too many plates spinning, you're not going to be able to keep them going. They're going to start falling and crashing down and I've had many experiences of that where we just overwhelm ourselves and it doesn't work. You know, I found it's much better to be a little bit laser focused towards one end. Get that going. And then add another one.

I think I have to still learn that lesson myself too. So yeah, and I do, I still see a shiny nickel and I'll chase it and you know, a couple weeks goes by and I pop my head out of the hole go. Wow. I'm 15 miles from home. How did I end up over here?

No. So, oh, it is so fun, you know, chasing rabbits. I mean, holy smokes. Haven't ever caught one yet, but it's fun. Chase me.

And there's supposed to be these things out there called jackalopes and snipes and I'm out there hunting them. Where's the snipe? You know, we find one of those, we're retiring. That's right. That's right.

Wouldn't that be something? So that's really my story and here, you know, so what I found, you know, one of the things that I found along the way and you hear this all the time, the leaders like yourself and other people talk about the money is in the list. The money is in the contact. In the old Amway days, they called it STP, show the plan.

Well, it doesn't matter if you're in network marketing or affiliate marketing or you have your own product. The whole idea is we have to get our product, service and opportunity in front of new people all the time. If we don't open our doors, the product literally will not sell itself. And so that was one of the things I learned, that the money really is in the list. It's lead generation.

Whether you're trying to generate leads to get people to buy your product. Lead being maybe traffic to your website or foot traffic into your place of business. You know, we have to get our product, service and opportunity in front of new people all the time. And it's the person who does that effectively who will tend to build a big business. So that's what I really dig about.

The new Empower Network is on the internet. It gives people a level playing field. Well, the internet gives everybody a level playing field. But what the Empower Network does is it shortens the learning curve.

It shortens the time it takes from "I'm going to build a business on the internet" to when you can actually produce a result. It shortens it down from what is normally a three to six month process, if you have a lot of time to put into it, down to less than 30 days. Yeah, I would say three to six months is full time. Yeah, three to six months full time.

Yeah. That's exactly right. And so if you're doing a part-time thing, you're trying to create a lifestyle from 5 to midnight, oh, it can be years. In fact, when I first started on the internet.

Oh my gosh, it was two and a half years of learning HTML code and all this weird stuff. And then by the time you finally get proficient, they change everything and then you've got PHP. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, they change everything and now what you learn doesn't apply anymore and you got to go.

Figure out this new stuff, and like I said, PHP, and then there's databases and CSS. I still ain't figured that out either. Yeah, people say, how do I make this pretty? I don't know. That's why my stuff is ugly.

But it works. But it works. Yeah, if it's ugly and it works, it works. And so within Empower Network, yeah, it's absolutely incredible. In fact, I got a call from a guy named Tim who's been kind of hanging out with me for about five years on different projects, and Tim's worked really hard.

He's done, you know, he's got a full-time life. And so he's been trying to do it part-time, five years of doing part-time to learn how to buy a domain name and set up a website and do a blog and what kind of plugins and how do we research our target market and how do we drive traffic, and then once the traffic is there, how do we convert them to become a lead, and once we have a bunch of leads, you know, we got to figure out some copywriting skills to come up with a presentation.

So they'll actually buy something. And the guy's been putting in the time. He's been putting in the effort. He spent thousands of dollars over the years and probably put in thousands of hours, and I got to give the guy credit for sticking in there, but he's never ever produced a result. So here he comes, you know, 30 days ago or something, he joins Empower Network and I feel kind of bummed.

Sort of, because the guy's always trying to do something and he's just not making it work, and he calls me literally five days later almost in tears going, "Rob, it's Tim. I had to call you and tell you, I did six blog posts just like you've taught me over the years. I did six." Wow.

That's incredible. I mean, those are the moments that give me goosebumps today. I got so, I can make multiple six figures and it's all cool. That's not what gets me excited. What gets me excited are the Tim's of the world picking up the phone going.

"It's working. It's working." I had another guy call me and same thing. He's been working his butt off on another online lead generation system, working his butt off and it's just not working. He's just not getting sales, and the guy calls me and he goes, "I did exactly what you said.

I picked a target market. I wrote some content. I posted on the Empower Network blog." What would he say? He had a double CC phrase.

I kind of forgot what that is now, but it's basically confirmation of process, because he followed the step-by-step process and then it produced a result. It validated the process. See, if you and I can do something and make a dollar, all we have to do is do it a hundred more times to make a hundred dollars and a thousand more times to make a thousand. Well, you turn that dollar magically into a six hundred and twenty-five dollar bill.

And you do that a hundred times, that's a doctor's salary. You know, it's pretty incredible. And so the Empower Network, the magic to me, and I literally mean it to me, because I'm an SEO kind of guy and I do all kinds of weird stuff.

But the reality is it's a lot of mind-numbing, brain-dropping, boring, sucky work. Well, you do some sneaky stuff, now, don't get it wrong. Oh, yeah.

Yeah, we do. Oh, yeah, we do some sneaky stuff. But even the sneaky stuff, you know, once you get past it, it's still boring. Yeah, you know, the work, I mean, I don't care how you look at it.

The work is boring, but once you get this process down, now, even though you do have a full-time life and a full-time career and you're a full-time spouse and a full-time mom and dad and laundry takes forever, you can still fit in that half-hour, 45 minutes, an hour a day to do this boring work, this boring process. But when you actually sit down to work, you're moving your business forward each and every day. And if we take that consistent action over an extended period of time, we will create compounding results. That's how the internet works.

It's just how it works. You don't have to think about it. You just need to trust the process, you know, and I really call that, you know, plan your work and then work your plan.

Perfect timing. So that's the thing, and that's what's so magical about Empower Network, is even a person like myself, I can sit there and go, I can go produce a very dynamic, very profitable result doing less work than I would have to do outside of the Empower Network, because it's an authority site. So what takes me an hour and a half a day to produce the results.

I produce outside of Empower Network, I can do that same process within the confines of that authority site and produce the same result in a half hour. Well, now for people who only have part time to build their business, that's magical. That's magical.

If you can come up with a process that takes 45 minutes to an hour a day and you decide to work that, show up to build your business five days a week, if you just simply plan your work and work your plan, where every day, before you do training, before you read your affirmations, before you clean up your desk, before you check email, and I literally do this at 8:30 in the morning, I sit down at my desk. I don't check email. I don't answer.

I don't answer my phone. I don't do anything. The first thing I do is my what I call my internet marketing dance for the day, you know, which is your process. Whatever your process may be. So you may be a content marketer or an article marketer, or maybe you do YouTube videos or Facebook ads, or whatever your process is that's moving your business forward.

You want to do that first, so that every single day, regardless of how we get distracted later, we're taking action to move our business forward. So once I'm done, which takes me about an hour and a half now, it's about 10 o'clock at that point, I answer my phone.

I check my emails. I get distracted and I live a life. Now, sometimes I'll work all day long. Sometimes I won't work at all, because I put in that process every day. And so once we take that consistent action over an extended period of time, it absolutely will

produce a mind-blowing result. Notice that whole idea of a journey of a thousand miles starts with stepping out. Yeah, step out, you know, even a turtle doesn't get ahead unless he sticks his neck out. Step out, make it happen, and work with your leaders. Work with your coaches.

Look with the people. Work with the people like yourself, Chris, who are producing a result. Pick up the phone. Make a connection.

Send an email. Tell me step-by-step what do you do to produce your result. Be willing to be coachable. Be willing to leave your ego at the door for a minute and stop thinking, you know, so damn much and start listening and doing what the leaders are instructing you to do, because I don't do.

It's so funny. People will call me and say, "Should I buy this tool? Should I buy this?" So, have you gone through my training yet? Are you doing what I've trained

you to do? "Nope." Because I think I should buy this tool. You're kidding me, right? I get that every day. Yeah, just do this mind-numbing, brainless, non-exciting thing and get rich, and it's, but I had to learn that lesson too. I'm still, you know, sometimes people will say, "Do this," and I go.

"It can't be that easy." But it is, and I'll keep insisting, "No, it's not," and they'll continue to make money and I continue to be broke, and it's like, huh, maybe I should listen, maybe that makes sense.

So yeah, that's pretty much what we do. So today, you know, our company where I have a team of 11,000 that's in momentum mode. So I recently joined another company about five months ago and the same thing happened. You know, I realize if the people on the call are in network marketing, I've built.

You know, you go to these big events and the top income earners, they're kind of like these untouchable guys wearing their diamonds and pulling up in their Beamers, and you know, they're kind of like untouchable. And you have this opportunity to do a little photo shoot, you know, with your name badge on, but you never really have a time to sit down and work with them, chat with them, find out who they are. But once you become a top producer, they invite you, you know, kind of backstage, or you're behind the velvet rope. So what do you see, Rob?

What do you experience when you do that? You know, I see real people. I see people who are no different than anybody else. They all have their hurts, habits and hang-ups. They all have their challenges.

They all had, or have, or continue to have issues. They're just people. They're just people, but there's people that, just like I did when I was diagnosed with cancer, something happened where they made a real decision and said, no matter what, no matter what, this is it, and I'm going to take action every single day. I'm going to, you know, feel the fear and do it.

Anyway, I'm going to be scared. I'm going to be embarrassed and say the wrong thing and do it anyway. I'm going to be tired and not feel like it and really want to veg out in front of the TV and I'm going to do it anyway. I'm going to do it regardless of the cost, and that's the common factor, you know, that's the common factor. Yeah, and it doesn't matter if they're big, if they're tiny, if they're tall, if they're bad, if they're skinny, if they're old.

The common factor is somewhere along the line is that I'm going to do it and really do it. See, we can fake like we're doing it. We can say, well, I'm going to go buy this tool. I have a guy on my team, love him, bless his heart.

He's a nice guy, but he buys every training. He buys every tool and he spends all of his time training and tools and videos, but he never put together a plan to take action. He thinks he's in action because he's busy all the time, but he's not doing the real work. He's not really putting the work back into the "work from home" equation.

He's put in activity that's pain-free and non-threatening and no chance of being embarrassed. In fact, he can sell it. You ask him anything, he knows everything. He's got all this training, but he's produced no results because he's never applied it, because when we apply, when we stick our neck out, you know, when we're the turtle, we stick our neck out.

Well, we risk getting our head chopped off. We really do. There's a big risk to stepping out there and trying to make things happen, because people will laugh at you. Not everybody is going to like you, and don't let it get to you, which sucks. You know, I get emails every now and then where people are mad at me.

They, for whatever reason, they go, "You're a dick." Well, maybe I am, and you know, and I have to, you know, be calm sometimes because I want to respond back and beg and plea. I'm not really, I'm a nice guy, but you know, we can't please everybody all the time and that's just the way it's going to be. We're going to step out there and make a fool out of ourselves.

So what? So what, I kind of changed it in my own mind, that if I go out there and do something dumb, which is pretty common, I'm not going to trip over my own feet. I mean, I can do really dumb stuff. I used to be so embarrassed.

I would go sit in a shell for two weeks and it's like the whole world is going to fall down. I'm so embarrassed. How could I do that? I can never face the world again. Today I kind of changed that. I brought a story and a smile to their life.

Know what I mean? Yeah, if I, you know, because I tend to like rock back in my chair, and if the chair falls over and I knock over the table at the restaurant and there's all this food and all this commotion everywhere and all the broken dishes and everybody's freaking out, there's Rob laying on the floor because I took my chair over, that used to be devastating to me, just absolutely devastating. Today.

I think, look at how I enhanced everybody's lives. They have a story they can tell, man. What a shift. What a shift in thinking, just even thinking from looking at it from that perspective. Yeah.

Yeah, because they're laughing. They're feeling embarrassed for me. So I don't even have to feel embarrassed. I got 18 people feeling embarrassed for me. Let them do that, and they're going to tell the story and they're going to laugh and they're going to have a good time, and we just enhance, brought value to their lives.

So what the heck, you know, what's the big deal? So that is what I found with leaders like yourself, and we get in with people, or just people. I mean, at the last event tears are shed. They're just people. "Well, the millionaire can't cry." Oh, yeah, we do, yeah.

Yeah, they do. Life gets hard, whether you're making a dollar or a million, it doesn't matter, life gets hard. There's touching moments. So, but what you also see is you see a person dedicated to task.

You're not going to throw them off track. You're not going to do it. They won't accept mediocrity. No, I don't mind if people call and ask me, how, questions, how, you know, how do I move forward?

What do I need to do? But I literally have no time for people who are arguing for their excuses, arguing to stay small. I mean, they've lived with their excuses so long and their embraces so tight, and you can't get through to it. I don't have time for that, because what do you do with that?

You know, what do you do when you're trying to offer a person a hand up and they slap it down and go, "Uncomfortable here in the pit"? Well, we literally cannot want success more for another person than they want for themselves, which again, all these leaders will feel that, you know, we've all gone through this phase of, you know, the business isn't worth it emotionally, because we want each and every person on our team. We want each and every person in the Empower Network, from the $25 guy all the way up to the Costa Rica mastermind guy, we want each and every person to have absolute

phenomenal success, whatever that success may mean to them. We want success for them. And when they don't have it, I guarantee you the leaders at some point in their lives think it's their fault. Yeah, we've all been there. Yeah. Yeah.

Can I have taught better? Can I have done more? Can I have given away more stuff? And in fact, my first network marketing business that I had success in, after about two years, I got to the point where I refused to sponsor any more people, because instead of focusing my attention on the 10% who were having success, who were now able to send their kids to private school, who were now building hospitals in third world countries, who were doing incredible things in their communities in their worlds, I was focusing on the 90% who, on their own, for whatever reason, decided mediocrity was okay for them.

But by me focusing my attention on the non-producers, I felt guilty, like it was somehow my fault. Right, because we're so used to taking responsibility for what we do and we sometimes forget and lose track of the fact that the majority of people in their process have to go through that phase where they realize they have to take responsibility for themselves as well, and they don't, and so we oftentimes look at that and put that on ourselves. Yeah. Yeah, that's exactly right.

You know, in fact, saying that it brought me back to like the 12-step programs, let's say Alcoholics Anonymous, by getting to the work, Alcoholics Anonymous or, you know, super bad drug anonymous and those kinds of things, you know, they have that program where they say, you know, a person has to reach their bottom before they can, you know, start finding their way to the top again, and you just said it right there. We kind of lose sight of the fact that the person themselves has to make that decision. I'm going to do it no matter what, in a sense. They have to hit their excuse bottom.

Okay, I'm tired of the excuses. I'm tired of living small. What do I need to do to move on? And we literally cannot want success more for them than they want for themselves.

So it's almost like there's a phrase out there, or forget what, an enabler, you know, in times in substance abuse arenas, they have family and friends who they don't mean to, but they've become enablers. Well, sometimes we feel that way as leaders that, you know, we become enablers and listen to your excuses. So I quite often tell people now when they join one of my teams, okay, from this point forward, now that I have your money, thank you very much.

I do love you, plenty money, I mean, love it. You love you plenty, send me money, we'll love you more. But it's, I do tell them, after I get their money.

I wouldn't tell them this before, but after I get their money I would say, well, hey Chris, okay, so at this point forward, I can be your friend, and we'll certainly be friends within this business arena. I can be your coach, and as your coach, I'm going to ask you to do things that you're not going to want to do. I'm going to ask you to stretch beyond your comfort zone.

I'm going to ask you to fly places, Heights you've never flown before, and it's going to scare the living hell out of you now. And if you do that, if you allow me to coach you, if you allow me to stretch you, if you allow me to take you with me on my journey, you absolutely will without fail, hundred percent certainty, you will produce this, you know, the success you're looking for.

Do you want me to be a coach or do you want me to be your friend? Because as a friend, I'll listen to your excuses and I'll be an enabler, and I'll pat you on the head and go, "That's okay.

That's okay." Extremely important distinction. Yeah, and I ask him, do you want me to be a coach or do you want me to be your friend? And what's really kind of funny is sometimes they won't answer. They won't answer it, because even though their brain says, yeah, I want to be successful.

They haven't reached that point in their life yet where they go, now it's time to get past the excuses, because excuses are very comfortable. You know, and it's kind of like Linus and his blanket. Remember the old Charlie Brown cartoon, you know, Linus and his blanket. Our excuses are comfortable.

So I may be comfortable in mediocrity, but at least it's better than being scared to death when I stick my neck out. So yeah, I may be comfortable yet miserable in mediocrity, but it's better than fear. It's better than the unknown. So until people are willing to jump off, you know, kind of like an eagle, you know, the mother eagle boots the little tiny eagle out of the nest, the little tiny eagle's not going to jump on his own, he needs coaching, he needs somebody to boot him out of the nest, you know, until we're comfortable allowing ourselves the freedom to do that.

A lot of people will stay stuck, and it is tragic and unfortunate. So that does, because you're right, it accomplishes that human instinct for certainty. Right, and we have that certainty that we want to have, and so I get phone calls myself as well, and I know you've gotten them too, where people say, "Just tell me that if I do this and this, promise me this is going to work."

Oh, yeah. Yeah, absolutely. And I say, it works if you work it, right, exactly. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah, and it's true. Yeah, they want certainty, and part of it, I understand that, I mean, to make a decision, whatever that decision is. I'm going to go buy this pair of jeans, little tiny decision, but not so much, you know, because these jeans cost, well, like a hundred bucks or something. No, but we make a decision.

I'm gonna buy the pair of jeans. Well now we got to live with them. I mean, we got to live with that decision. Is it too tight? Is it too loose?

Do I look, you know, is it sagging down my butt? I mean, it's a dumb analogy, but we have to live with that decision, right or wrong, good or bad, our decision. We have to take responsibility. Well, most of us in life have made decisions that aren't necessarily that great. So we had to live with the consequences, or we had to live with, you know, "I joined another company but I've done nothing," and that was the sixth company.

Now my spouse is looking at me all cross-eyed going, "You promised me the moon and instead you gave me a moon rock. The moon is glowing red." You know, so we've had these times of, we don't necessarily trust our decisions anymore. So we don't want to make a new one.

And so we will, we'll call people and go, well, Chris, if I join your deal, can you promise me it's going to work? This happens all the time. Yeah, because I want to pass responsibility to you, because I know historically I might not have made really good decisions. Yeah, I'll tell you a quick story, Rob. I remembered when Dave and I had moved back to Alaska from Hawaii.

And Dave was just in the middle of really figuring out his article marketing and his online marketing, and he hadn't even gotten a blog up yet. You know, he just started on this thing, he literally just really started. I was having a conversation with him and I asked him, I said, "So you really think this is going to work this time," and I saw something from him, Rob, and heard something from him I had never heard or seen before, and it wasn't that he had something different he said or something different he did, but when I looked at him and he responded, it's like he had a different look in his eye and he had a different tone in his voice.

I had never seen before, and it kind of, it's funny, if I liken it to, you know, that old cartoon Pinky and the Brain, you ever, right. And so it's like, almost it was like, "So what are we going to do today, Brain?" And he said the same thing we do every day, "Pinky, try to take over the world," you know, and the tone of voice, it was like I could not even describe the tone other than saying I could feel the conviction in his voice that there was no turning back from this, no matter what it took, the certainty that he had placed in his paradigm was that "I'm going to make this work no matter what." I don't need the certainty that it's going to work for me.

My certainty is that I'm not backing down from this decision. Just like the decision you made about, behind the velvet ropes, all of those leaders made, something came along where they made a decision and everything else became irrelevant at that point in terms of any roadblocks or challenges. And it's like at that moment I saw that moment with Dave.

It was the same. It was the same thing when we were at a conference and it was an awards banquet, and Dave comes in at like 4 or 5 in the morning to the hotel room and he just had his first date with Ashley. And I said, "So how did it go?" You know, "You're coming kind of late, you know, or early," and he says, "Dude, I'm going to marry that girl after the first date."

And you know, the thing is, I didn't laugh at him because I saw the conviction in his voice and I was like, "You're serious." He's like, "Yeah." I was like, "I believe you." Well, it's crap. Yeah, here we go. Okay.

You know, it was that decision. Yeah. Yeah, it really was, Chris. And in fact, it's neat that you share that story, because when I met Lisa, my wife, I've been married 30 years. And when I met Lisa, my wife, it was kind of funny, but at the time I had worked at an A&W fast food restaurant and they had made me assistant manager, like whoopty whoop, you know, I get to wear a paper hat that actually fits, awesome.

Well, this restaurant, you know, this restaurant had burned down. So I'm out of a job and I'm doing some other stuff, and then they rebuilt the restaurant and the owner, Van, calls me and he says, "Rob, can you come in and help me hire some new people?" And I said, "Okay, sure." So I come in and Lisa was one of the people. She's like 16 years old, braces, ponytail, and I had a cast on my leg.

I blew my knee out, so I got a brace, and you know, this is back in the 70s, you know, the disco days, you know, John Travolta disco days, and she comes in and she's the most gorgeous girl I've ever seen. You know, she's got braces, and you know, maybe to other people she wasn't gorgeous, but to me it's like, oh my gosh. So I asked her out and it was actually beneficial in my favor.

You needed to have a work permit if you were less than 16. I think she was like 15 and she had like three days or something, she had to become 16. So she needed to have this work permit, and I said, "Well, I can't hire you unless you have a work permit, and the openings will probably not be here by the time you get your work permit."

But I'll tell you what, if you go dancing with me tonight, I'll pretend I have a work permit. Sneaky bastard. Yeah. Yeah. So basically, you know, so she's looking at me going, "Dancing?

You have this brace on your leg, you can't go dancing." So, "I can go dancing." See, my spirit was dancing. I'd met this gorgeous girl.

It was the same thing. After that first date, I went back to my apartment and I had a pet parrot and I had a pet boa constrictor. And it was the three of us, you know, the three amigos. And I'm talking to my snake and I'm talking to my parrot. "I'm going to marry that girl.

That's going to be my wife." And two years later, she was in, here we are, 30 years later, still married and still like each other. She's been my girlfriend for 30 years. But you know what you were sharing when you were sharing that with David?

I've seen it, I've seen it happen live, like you saw it happen live with David. I've seen it happen in my own life. I've seen it happen with people on my team where something happens and it becomes a settled conclusion. What I mean, where we might say, well, okay, I'm going to join this company and I'm going to give it a shot.

I'll work really hard and I'll do what they tell me. But there's a part of us that's reserved. There's a part of us that hasn't made 100 percent commitment. There's a part of us that will allow the roadblocks to get in the way. There's a part of us that's just not congruent with what our mouth is saying when we said we made a decision.

But somewhere once in a while, every now and then, something comes along where it's a settled conclusion. And I think that's what you were seeing in David. It's like, I don't know how, I don't know when, but it's going to be like, "Yeah, we'll take over the world," it's going to be. And that's it.

And for me, when I was given the death sentence, and despite six other non-successes in network marketing, despite never having even a remote taste of success, I had a settled conclusion. It's going to get done. I don't know how, I don't know how long it's going to take me, but what I knew is it will happen before I die. In the next 18 to 24 months, it will be done.

It will absolutely be done. And it's one of the things I challenge people with. If I go to an advanced or a mastermind training or something like that, I'll challenge people with this. I would say, find who's the most important person in your life.

Like if I were to ask you, Chris, at this point in your life, who's the most important person in your life? Besides yourself, of course. Wow. That's a tough one. There's so many, most important.

Wow. Well, okay, well, yeah, we'll just say a very, very, very important person. Oh, well, probably my father. Okay, your father. So.

So here's the unfortunate reality. We're coming up into the holiday season, December 31st. We're going to flip over into the year 2012. Well, on December 31st, you go in with your dad, you go into the doctor and you come out and the doctor basically says, "Okay, unfortunately your father needs life-saving surgery in the next 12 months.

If he doesn't get this life-saving surgery, he absolutely will die. There is no other recourse other than this life-saving surgery. Now, the life-saving surgery is going to cost one hundred thousand dollars." Chris.

You cannot beg. You cannot borrow. You cannot steal the money. This hundred thousand dollars cannot come from anything you are currently doing. So if you're already

in a network, or any money that you're currently making, so whatever income pile you have, you have to create an additional one hundred thousand dollars on top of that. So starting on January 1st, you've got three hundred and sixty five days to save your dad's life. What are you going to do and when are you going to get started? Well, I don't have people.

Yeah. And if people would just rise to that challenge, and don't do it, just like, oh, you know, well, let's play with this. Sit down and feel how sad and how horrible it will be if you fail, and you got to tell your dad, you know, it's day three hundred and sixty three.

"No, Dad, I'm sorry, but I let these petty excuses kill you. Wow, you know, I'm sorry, Dad, but I really loved my Starbucks, so I spend five dollars a day, one hundred and fifty dollars a month on Starbucks instead of spending one hundred and fifty dollars a month for inner circle training. I'm sorry, Dad, but I like my Starbucks better than I liked having you around."

You got to tell your dad that. See, we have to live, every decision we make, every petty excuse we embrace and refuse to let go of, has a consequence.

Now, if you were to really honestly feel that consequence deep in your soul, you killed your dad, or you can save them. What would we do? So I encourage everybody on the call, pick somebody, the most precious person to you, walk through that. I mean, this is a perfect time.

I think you guys are going to post this at the time of this recording. We're going to turn the corner into January. Who are you going to save this next year to produce an extra hundred thousand dollar a year income on top of what you're already doing? Are you willing to pay the price to get past your petty excuses? Are you willing to pay the price?

Get past the hurts, habits and hang-ups that you've been allowing yourself to hold you back. Hmm. I don't know. Pretty intense. Lisa and I do this every year.

Lisa and I do this every year and we're not successful every year. Don't get me wrong, but every year we'll sit down in December and we'll say, okay, let's pick somebody. Let's go through this kind of like a little hypnosis session. Let's feel the loss of this person in our life. Now, let's spend the next year saving them and increasing our income by another hundred thousand or whatever your number may be.

And magic happens, because could we end up with that settled conclusion? You're not going to let your dad die. That's the settled conclusion. It's not going to happen, period.

Well, once you reach that settled conclusion, there is no obstacle high enough, or wide enough, or big enough that you're not going to break through, climb over, dig underneath, or just blow out of the sky. Well, I'll tell you, Rob, the process I just went through when you led me through that process, let me share with you what was going on inside of me. And you told me, you know, to picture this and visualize this.

And so I'm seeing the doctor saying this, you know, and here's what it is, and thinking about how much he means to me and how much he's taught me, and what we've gone through in life and what it's made, how it's made him who he is and me who I am, you know, I'm really close with my father. I love him so much. I don't know, I couldn't even fathom what life would be like without him. And so when you brought me

through this, I mean, my eyes were tearing up. Sure. No, my eyes are misty. And then I remember, you know, you saying, you know, what are you going to do? And to me, it was.

I wasn't thinking about all of the different rules, how can I do this, maybe I could go do this, maybe I could go do this, that wasn't crossing my mind, Rob.

It wasn't what was crossing my mind was, okay, well, whatever it turns out that I figure out on how to do it, the point here is that I'm doing this no matter what, no amount of sleep lost, no amount of challenges to overcome, no matter what it is.

The decision is already made that I have to do it. It's not even a question as to when I come across, how I'm going to do it is going to say, well, I don't know that may be a little too hard. No, I'm doing this and I'll figure out how, but the reality is that I've made that decision. Yeah. Yeah.

And Chris, that's that settled conclusion. See, a decision really is a settled conclusion with no other option. You know, it's that settled conclusion with no other option. No, no option.

You're going to save your dad, period. So you're right, the how-to, once we have made that decision, that honest to goodness settled conclusion, that's just the way it is. That is a reality. Now, we just got to play out the reality.

Once we've done that, it's going to happen. It will absolutely happen. And I heard David say it the other day on one of our calls. It's like, "Well, I never really thought about that." But he said, you know, we have to come from a place of being congruent.

See, if I say if I join a business like Empower Network and tell people, "I'm going to build this into a hundred thousand dollar a month business," but part of me is going, well, sounds good, I don't know how that's going to happen, or part of me goes, yeah, right.

Like you've ever done that before, or, you know, if I got any doubt, you know, some of the ancient scriptures call it being lukewarm. You know, if you're lukewarm, "I'm going to spew you out of my mouth. What good are you?" But if we have that settled conclusion, if we're congruent, we're coming from a place of congruency, and I see in your face, I will build this to.

I will make a hundred thousand dollars because I'm on a task to save my dad. And if you would like to join me, you're going to make money with me. Guess what? "I'm joining you." Because like you saw in David that day, it was a done deal.

You just had to play it out. And I believe, I said, well, buddy, I'm with you. You know, that's right. Yeah, I'm with you.

Yeah, because all of a sudden there's congruency and, seeing when you're congruent, and I tell my team this all the time, make a decision. Plan your work, work your plan. So once we're on track, here's the deal.

No second guessing. No quitting. You can whine all you want. You can whine every day. Go, "This sucks," but no quitting.

No second guessing, and take action every day, and you will pull off the results you're looking for. And I do it all the time. I stand up and talk to myself. Go, "This sucks. This is horrible.

This is boring." But I do it anyway. And we produce a result. I get you. It's funny because I have many people that call me and say, and I'm sure you get this too.

"Well, have you listened to this course? Or have you bought this course? Or are you going to be on this webinar?" And, you know, there's a webinar every night, you know. There's always something going on. You know, I wouldn't call it a distraction, because people need to be connected. And for me personally, I choose one webinar a week, you know, and make sure that I'm still connected.

But I know that at the end of the day, you know, I got courses stacked up that I bought, haven't gone through. And why? Because I'm too busy taking action. I'm learning by doing rather than by just wanting to know everything first before I get started. And I think that's a major shift for people.

Well, it is a major shift. I mean, think back to when we were younger and we're getting ready to go drive the car. You know, and we read the books, you know, because we got to take the written test. We read the books and we do all this stuff, and, okay, so we learned how to drive a car from a book, and then you get in the car.

That's a whole different ballgame. You know, there's motor skills to learn and all this stuff. So you really actually learn best by teaching. Yes. Learn best by doing.

And then we learn best by teaching. And so, yeah, yeah, it's absolutely critical. And that's why I do share with people, you know, if.

If you have scheduled time, everything in our life that's important, we schedule. You know, when David was getting married, you probably scheduled time to show up at the wedding, when, you know, everything that's important in life, we schedule. People set their alarm clock so they can get up on time so they can show up to work, because having their job is important at this point in their lives. So everything that's important, we schedule.

Let me ask you, have you scheduled time to build your business? If not, why not? I'll tell you why not. Because it hasn't become a settled conclusion.

When would now be a good time to do? Yeah, exactly. When would now? I like that. I'm writing that down.

When would now be a good time to do that? I'm literally writing that down right now. Well, don't worry, I've written down plenty, down here. When would now?

You know, but it is funny though, because you said, you know, like, "I scheduled time to, for David to get married." You know, the reality, the truth is he eloped, and he called.

Yeah. Yeah. Isn't that right? Yeah. He scheduled time.

All right. And see, this is indicative of what Dave does, and I think this is something that everybody, you know, can learn from, within a certain level of tact, 'cause you know, he called me, you know, about six or seven hours after he got married and said, "Hey man, we just got married." You know, they eloped, 'cause he was down there chasing Ashley around in Utah.

I was still up in Alaska at the time. And I was like, "Well, good luck, man. Good luck, man. Tell me how it turns out." You know, 'cause he had to go down there and really pursue her.

And then, so all of a sudden I get a call and he goes, "Yeah, man, we just got married in California, you know, like six hours ago." And I'm going, "What? I would've come down, man, I'd stand up there. I'd be your best man right there at your wedding.

What are you, dude?" And he's like, "You know, we just did it." And I was like, "Well, you know, this is David Wood I'm talking about." And he doesn't hesitate.

He doesn't hesitate on anything, and when he makes a decision, there's no turning back. He just goes and does it. And I think that's what, you know, it's the same thing with Empower Network. If we had tried to get everything set up perfectly before we launched.

Do you know, Rob, we still wouldn't even be launched. Oh yeah. Absolutely. And think about how many people we would have not helped out already. Well, that's right.

How many lives? Yeah. Well, that's exactly right. And that's the thing. It's never going to be perfect.

We're never going to think we're perfect. We're never going to have all our ducks set in a row. There's always going to be some errant duck out there going its own way. Oh, well. Move forward.

Anyway, it's not going to be perfect. And I still get emails today. I get, "Oh, you know, Empower Network's site is down," or, "Oh," I mean, it's like, stop looking for all these petty excuses so you can quit again. Stop giving yourself permission to quit. In fact, my wife said that to me many years ago.

And it still haunts me, not haunts me like in a bad way. But she said, "When did you give yourself permission to be less than? Oh, when did you give yourself permission to quit again? When did you give yourself permission to not live into your potential?"

Well, if you're the one that gave yourself permission to do that, you're the one that can give yourself permission to actually not do that. Right. That's powerful. Wow. Wow.

I mean, I can even feel that, you know, as you were saying that, it's just, you know, hits like lightning bolts at times. Like, "Hey, you know, Chris, did you do that too, in certain areas?" You know, like, yeah, let's be honest with ourselves. Yeah, let's be honest with ourselves for once. Let's stop.

Let's take responsibility for our decisions and our actions and our inactions and our petty excuses that keep pulling us back. Let's just sit down for once, have a conversation with ourselves. Let's take a look at it. And when we do, you may not like what you see in the mirror. And then you're going to have to take responsibility for that too.

Okay, this is the person I've allowed myself to become. I gave myself permission to be a quitter. I gave myself permission to be a whiner. I gave myself permission to be whatever it is, to be content in mediocrity, miserable, but content. I gave myself permission to be a scaredy cat and let that take control of my life.

Well, I now take back that permission and it's not acceptable anymore. That's so powerful in what you just said, because that is the catalyst. Yeah, yeah. I started sharing that in some of the emails and trainings. I said, you know, how will your life be different when we take back control?

See, we didn't lose control because, Chris, you took control from me. You know, we didn't lose control because somebody ripped me off with a bad product. I didn't lose control because I dropped out of high school and I was never given a break in life. I didn't lose control because I don't have rich relatives who are going to leave me a lot of money. You know, I gave up my control by insisting

my destiny was out of my control. I gave it up. So, how will our life be different when we take back control? Because that's the only way life will be different, is when we step up and say, "I take my life back."

Because it doesn't matter what happens to you, like a company changing their comp plan or taking the product away or not giving you a break. But what you have control over is how you choose to respond and react to something like that. Well, that's absolutely right. Yeah, it's absolutely right. Because, you know, the unfortunate reality is, it's difficult to be human.

Sometimes it's difficult to be human. We get tired. We get muscle aches. We get sick.

People in our lives die. We're broke. We're cold. We're hot. It's difficult to be human sometimes.

But what are we going to do with those difficulties? And it's also a joy, you know, incredible joys. And we're incredibly blessed to be living here. Family and friends and stuff that we get to do, contributions we get to make.

But when it gets tough, when it gets discouraging, that's what we have control of. What are we going to do with it? What are we going to do with that? You know, it's just kind of cool. It's cool when we get past that pity party.

It's cool when we start looking out and go, how can I serve others instead of looking for a handout. "I hope you like me. I hope you'll call me this week." You know, instead of focusing on ourselves and looking for a handout, what about if we offered a hand up to people?

Yes. What if we just started doing that? A word of encouragement, a smile, you know, congruency. How would our life be different if we just sat back and, like you said, become congruent, have a settled conclusion, make a decision. It's going to happen no matter what.

And I invite you to come along with me, because I don't want to do it by myself. I kind of like you. You want to hang out? Wow. That's a nutshell right there.

Very true. Yeah. And that's exactly what will happen. People will go, "You got to be kidding me. When are we getting started?

What should I pack?" Because people are silently begging to be led, begging to be led. They're looking for congruency. They're looking for, "Either be hot or be cold. Don't be lukewarm."

Don't stop being lukewarm. Everybody's lukewarm. Well, I'll do it maybe someday. Someday.

Someday. Well, I'm seeing Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday on my calendar, I don't see someday. Where is it? I'm still looking for that damn someday.

People keep telling me they're going to do something maybe in a leap year, and I never bought that calendar. I don't know. I love it. I love it.

Yeah. So, you know, this has been just, you know, eye-opening, you know, to hear this, and revelational, that's my buzzword lately, you know, revelational. I don't even know if it's a word. You might want to write that one down too.

So let's, what we want to do here, Rob, is, you know, every single one of the leaders has a little bit of a unique skill that they bring to the table. Now, I just have to say, from the perspective that I'm at, and I say this with all honesty, and believe me, Rob, my friend, I mean this, you know, I do, and I geek out on, you know, SEO. And most of us know, I do a lot of, you know, SEO for other people. I have my own SEO company. You know, I do a lot of David Wood's SEO.

And I'll tell you, when I'm looking around on the search engines, and I look at the rankings, and I'm looking around in the network marketing niches, and there's only one person, when I see them ranking number one, you want to know my response? Crap! Shit! And I go, I don't even know if I'm going to, I mean, yeah, I know I could probably bounce right up there at second place, tucked up underneath you, if I wanted to. And in some cases, I might get, you know.

Well, I know your skill, and you could, I mean, if you put your mind to it, you could beat me out too, because I know your skill. You're a geek, just like me. You know, I mean, we enjoy the game, you know, it's a competitive little game.

But yeah, yeah. And in fact, I have some people on my team, because again, you know, we learn best what we teach. So I've been kind of teaching this to my guys as well, and I actually have people on my team that are beating me on the search engines now. But you know what, there was no magic.

You know, when I made the decision, okay, how am I, see, keep in mind, I'm not a search engine geek. I'm not a, when I started geeking out and doing this, I said, I need to generate leads. I only have an hour to an hour and a half a day where I have enough energy, you know, I'm doing this chemo crap, and I'm throwing up all the time. And literally, I would walk up three stairs and I'd have to stop and rest for 10 minutes, I had no energy.

So it's like, what the heck can I do to produce this incredible result, you know, a full-time result working part time in my spare time. And so I don't even remember why, but I said, "Well, I think I can generate leads on the internet if I just got traffic to my website." So I studied the people who are producing the result, and I just had to assume they were telling me the truth.

And what I learned, and what I teach today, is we have something for sale, let's call that Empower Network. We have to decide who's our target market, who's the person most likely to want to join the Empower Network. And I'm going to tell you who's the person most likely to want to join the Empower Network. Well, almost anybody and everybody wants more money, but who's the person most likely?

Well, the person who already has expressed an interest in affiliate marketing, or making money blogging, or making money earning AdSense income, or making money with YouTube videos, or making money in the network marketing arena, that's the person most likely, and what I call my best-chance opportunity, to see the power of what we're doing here in the Empower Network. Well, once we have that target market in mind, that person, it's a person, then there's tools, there's the Google external keyword tool, which is absolutely free. There's some paid tools you can use, but there's some tools that will tell us exactly and specifically what words and phrases that person types in when they're looking for our product, service, or business opportunity. So to me, there's no room for guessing on the search engine. You know, people say, "Well, what should I write about?"

I said, well, you can write about anything you want, to attract people to the Empower Network. They'll get curious, they'll click the links, they'll watch the videos, and some people will join. But me personally, I'm going to publish on purpose, meaning I'm not going to write about anything unless I know for sure that my target market is literally typing that in. They're literally going to Google and typing that in.

So I got, you know, 25,000 people a month literally typing in, "How do I make money with my blog?" Well, once I know that keyword phrase, and that's my perfect target market, then I write content, or I pay somebody to write that content that gives the answer to how do I make money with my blog. Now, of course, the answer will be, "Well, with Empower Network, stupid." You know what I mean? This is how we do it.

So I call that the transition paragraph. See, it doesn't really matter what the blog post is about, but if it's our perfect target market, so for example, I just did one just yesterday, so it's fresh in my mind. The keyword was, "How do I increase AdSense earnings?" I mean, that wasn't the whole keyword.

It was "increase AdSense earnings." That was the keyword. So I write this article, give them four or five ideas on how they could increase their AdSense earnings. And I'm going to say, well, how does that apply to Empower Network?

Well, it doesn't, but that's my correct target market. So now I make a transition paragraph. So here's five or six incredible ways to enhance your AdSense earnings. But let me ask you something.

Are you making three, five, six cents per click after doing all this work to get them to your blog? Does it only leave and pay you a nickel on the door? How about if I could show you a way where they would pay you $25, $100, and then they would pay you 20 cents per click? Well, that's my correct target market. $625 on the way in the door.

And then if you still want to collect your nickel as they leave, that would be something else. Is that something we should talk about, or perhaps not link to Empower Network? See, that's my perfect target market, because they've already expressed an interest in making money. So I just need to show them how, with very little effort, very little additional time or expense, they can create a multiple stream of income. So now once we have that content published, now we need to promote it.

And this is where me and you get all giddy and excited and let the games begin, off to the races, off the races. You know, it's like they open up the gladiator thing, the Coliseum, and here comes the lions. And here comes me and Chris in our gladiator suits and our spears and our shields. And we're going to battle, right? We might very well have a very big mental imbalance towards this stuff.

Yes, yes, yes. We, I don't know when it happened, or how it happened. Me neither. We morphed into geeks.

You know that, right? Yeah, I'm willing to accept that now, you know. So, so what I literally do is I use a set of five tools. Some of the tools were a one-time purchase of maybe a hundred bucks. Every day.

That's the reality. I have another tool, it cost me about a hundred dollars a month. And when I didn't have that hundred dollars a month, and I knew this was the game I was going to play, and this was the settled conclusion, and this was how I decided to produce a result, then I didn't buy new clothes for the next six months.

So I could afford that hundred bucks a month, because I knew I had to have the tools in order to compete against a guy like you. I had to have the tools. So I started telling my people, stop being cheap. Being cheap is keeping you broke, because if you want to compete in my arena, if you want to compete with Chris and produce his results, you better use the same tools, or better even, get bigger, badder tools. Yeah.

So I literally created a plan, what I call my daily method of operation. So once I publish the content, that's just the beginning. Now, to me, the fun begins. And I put my content through a six or seven-tool promotional process. And that's where it becomes very brain-dead and boring.

We just do the same thing again and again. And then, but the reality is, we take that consistent effort over an extended period of time, and not all of my content ranks. I would only say maybe 60 to 70% ever even make it to the front page. But that 60 or 70% adds up to a whole lot of traffic over time, which becomes a whole bunch of leads. You know, we're building a list and we make money, but it really becomes, you know, once we learned that skill, and that's what took us years of learning and refining the skill, but now we have it down to a science.

So I can literally take a brand new person and say, you go buy this tool, this tool, this tool, you follow this process this way, this way, this way, you can, and will, without exception, absolutely produce the same result, because there's no magic. The magic was in being willing to learn it and invest in the tools. That was the magic. After that, the magic's over. Now it's just a process.

Yep. It's a spreadsheet, a process. It's a spreadsheet. You're exactly right.

It's a spreadsheet. Check, check, check, check. Yep. We're done. Now what?

Process flowcharts. Process complete. Exactly. Process complete. Yeah.

We develop this and then, you know, I have outsourcers that I give the spreadsheet to. I make a tutorial video. "Okay, follow this process every single day. Here's our keywords. Here's our first link.

Here's our second link." You know, here's where we're linking to, you know, multiple layers of links and all that stuff. And, but the thing is, people, here's the good news. You know, that's for us to rank for competitive stuff.

Right. The good news is, is that, you know, as you know, and you can confirm this, it's more fun to actually rank for lower competition and less-searches-per-day, per-month keywords. And someone will go, "Why?

You know, the first thought is, well, why don't I go rank for a keyword that has, you know, 2,000, 3,000 searches a day? And, and because that's, you know, I have to do one article and rank one piece of content and then I'm getting all of this traffic. Right. And then, you know, why would I go do that for something that only gets me, you know, that's getting only a hundred searches a day, you know, which would yield, you know.

Right. 30, 40 visits to your site a day rather than the others. And, you know, as you know, it's because with those higher competitive keywords, you got to keep your foot on the gas. You got to keep your foot on the gas. I literally have, it's a funny thing.

People will come over to go, "You're kidding, I heard you say this, but I didn't believe you." I have a rear view mirror, I keep on my desk, and it's got a little suction cup on it, and I attach it to my computer, and I do that as a metaphor, a visual metaphor. It's a little bit of a reminder, the competition's coming up behind me.

Absolutely. Because I know if I don't keep the pedal to the metal, Chris is going to be right there knocking me off. So you're absolutely right. And in fact, you're the first person I ever heard say that out loud, because we teach about the long tail keyword, and I've always taught it, we'll go after the long tail because you don't need to buy as many tools.

You can start where you can start. And the long tail is a perfect place to do it. That's how I've always taught it. But you just actually revealed the entire truth, that the beauty of the long tail is there's no stress. Now, you rank for it and it stays there and continues to get traffic over and over again.

Whereas, you know, you take your foot off the gas with a competitive one and you're losing all your traffic. You put all your eggs in one basket, you know, and it becomes very stressful. It really does. When you guys launched the Empower Network, I decided to go after this particular keyword that I won't mention, to create my own competition. But I went after this particular keyword and I'm ranking like number nine on Google.

And I'm seeing a couple of guys ranking, well, you know, the number one guy, the number two guy. And they're pretty heavy-duty SEO guys too. So it's like, game on, because I want number one for this keyword. So I'm going after it.

And, you know, I hit number three and then number one, and then I bounce back to number three. You know, the last 30 days, that one keyword has given me so much stress. I think I know exactly which one you're talking about. It has given me so much stress, because I keep bouncing, whereas, like you said, the long tail ones that I've done along the way,

no stress. I get this traffic, I get all these wonderful sales, no stress, no rear view mirror.

And it's much easier. I'm actually going to take that to heart. You know, you actually gave me a breath of fresh air here. It's like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Did you

hear that, Rob? Okay, stress-free keywords. Well, it's true, because would you rather rank number one for 10 different keywords that give you 10 hits to your site, or would you rather rank number one for a competitive keyword that gives you 100 hits to your site? It's the same math.

But the amount of energy and effort to keep that number one ranking, you know, with the other ones you can just go spend a day and do a process and move on to the next keyword. And you continue to build them and they stay there. Now, after a month's time, you know, if you're working only weekdays, you've got 20 different keywords that you're ranking for, and all that traffic is coming, and you don't have to go back and mess with it, maybe maintenance mode a couple of months down the road, you know? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

And there's tools, you know, we use. Sure. Just drip feeds. Yeah, yeah, you drip them.

Yeah. Drip feeders. Yeah. So that's one of the things. Yeah, you're absolutely right.

I mean, that's a very profound thing that you just shared with people, because that is part of the game that us geeks play, and we will on purpose. And I think that's just the nature of who we are, because we're competitive. We'll pick these wildly competitive terms.

Well, now, if you decide to jump into that arena, you know, we welcome you to the fray. Right. You know, the World Federation of Fighting. I was like, yeah, let's get it on. But at the same time, if you want to build a business peacefully, without stress, feeling good.

Yeah. Stay out of that. In fact, when you said that, I was like, huh, you know what? I already got too much stress.

I think I'm going to go back to the long tail keyword. Well, you know what it does accomplish for you, though, you know, and you're being modest, because, Rob, you get those competitive keywords and the others who know how competitive those keywords are, they sit up and take notice. Right.

And so this allows you to have validation for when you sell your training programs. Well, yeah. Yeah. You're teaching your team. You can say, hey, well, what gives me the authority to be able to tell you that this works?

Go look at that keyword ranking, you know, and you think, oh, okay, you know, I've seen a certain keyword. I'm watching these guys as soon as Empower Network came about. And, you know, me, I knew about this. I dropped the ball.

I didn't even go register the exact match domain. And I knew about this before anybody, you know, and I look and I saw who registered the domains. And I'm going, "You got to be kidding, how did I drop the ball?" You know, and so, oh, yeah, I totally spaced it too.

I mean, it's launch day, I sent out the email or did a review, or nothing. Me too. It's like, then I'm watching, like you said, I'm watching these keywords.

I'm watching these keywords. And it's like, oh, these guys, they must have started two weeks ago. It is fun to watch. I'll tell you what, watching that particular ranking.

I'm sure we all figured out pretty much what that is by now. It shall remain nameless. But, you know, I haven't even started on that. I look at it and go, you know what? I've got so much happening.

I've shifted so much into a space where I'm helping my team rank and helping them make money that, you know, I didn't even want to step into the arena. But it's fun to watch. I mean, I've never seen rankings bounce around so quickly. These guys must be just jacking.

And to me, it's like, I'm a crack addict and I'm shaking, like, "Oh, I want to jump into the race, but oh my God." Well, it's kind of funny, Chris, because, you know, we all know some of the big gun tools, you know, that us geeks use. And I haven't honestly pulled out the big guns in over a year. You know, I just haven't felt like it.

But for that keyword, like you said, it's been bounced around so hard, it's like, "All right, I'm pulling out the big guns." Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Yeah.

And that brings a lot of stress. It really does. You know, I mean, who really cares in the long run? But it's the game we play.

It's the game. And it's so fun, at least for us. You know, some people are probably listening to this and they don't see the SEO and they're going, "What in the heck are you guys talking about?" And I'm sorry, and I know we're probably losing a lot of people here.

But I just could not help but take this time and let us just geek out a little bit on it, at least. Yeah. It's kind of like, please don't sit at our table. But, you know, let's shift real quick.

Let's quickly get into what we can help people with here, because we've given them a lot of concepts. But let's quickly dive in with a little bit of time we have left here. Let's dispel some myths for people. So let's look at some of the major, because SEO will change so quickly. What are some of the myths that might have been true at one point or another, that are not true anymore, that you feel it's important for people to know about when they start tackling this whole SEO game?

Well, I think the biggest one that really messes people up is thinking the internet is fast and easy. You know, it's simple once you learn what to do and how to do it, it's very simple, but it's not necessarily fast and easy. You know, the internet runs on search. I mean, it really does.

We all sit down and we search for something, whether it's information to write a school report or a tool or a tip or a secret. And then we look at the results the search engines, or YouTube, produce, or Facebook produces. Then we go visit.

So the search engines work on content and it works on search, that's it. Now there's paid traffic and all that kind of stuff, so it's content. You know, they say content is king.

Well, I think that's the myth. The myth is, no, content that ranks is king. Content that ranks. So a lot of people will publish. No, they'll do what they got to do and they'll publish.

And then they don't promote what they've published. And so, you know, they've created one page out of ten hundred bazillion pages on the internet, whoopty. You know, I mean, everybody's walking around all proud.

"Well, you created it, they'll come." No, that's a myth. Not "if you build it, they will come." Yeah.

Yeah, it's not like the field of dreams. So you have to promote the content. And that's where I do say, stop being cheap, because cheap is keeping you broke. You have to promote that content.

So unfortunately, if you've never done it before, there's a learning curve, you're going to have to buy software, you're going to have to go through six-hour tutorials that make no sense to you, but once you figure it out, it becomes an automated process. Click here.

Do this. Do that. Once you get past the learning curve. So I think that is the myth, that I can just publish, even within Empower Network. I've already started to hear it, because Empower Network is an authority site and it does rank very easily, even without a lot of

promotion. People think they can just get in there and promote, and the magic is going to happen. Well, it probably will for long tail keywords. If I go up there and create a post, "Seven ways to train my parrot to talk," I probably will rank something about parrots, I don't know. But if I want to purposely build a business and post on purpose, to attract the right type of person, then I'm better served if I just go that extra step.

And promote that content to rank. And that will actually benefit the whole of our Empower Network members and team and community. If we all just promote our content a little bit. What does that mean?

We'll share it on Facebook. Share it on your Facebook. Go set up an OnlyWire account, which is absolutely free. Spend two hours setting up 40 bookmark links. When you post your content, go run it through OnlyWire.

Doesn't cost you a dime. Takes three minutes. But everybody promoting a little bit here, in the near future, we'll all have to promote less to produce the same result. And that's the magic. We really got going, it's kind of incredible.

Yes. United we stand, divided we fall, and we're all helping each other here with the authority from user-generated content, and everything else is true. I had somebody who wrote a blog post and they said, "Well, I wrote a blog post

and I'm not getting any leads. I'm not getting any leads." I said, yeah, I hear it every day. Yeah, and I said, "Did you keyword target this thing?" And they said, "What do you mean?"

Right. I'm going, okay, all right, we have to do this with purpose. Yeah. Yeah.

Which is critical. I think that's why the inner circle membership is critical, because you're going to see, here's the reality. You and I, you know, we've been sitting there laughing about SEO and all that, and we think it's the neatest thing since ice cream, but now we've got Fred sitting over there going, "That just sounds horrible. That sounds like the most boring thing in the world.

Why would I rather get up and do videos and put on my little fuzzy hat and make people laugh, and they'll like me and they'll come join." Well, here's the magic within the inner circle. We have leaders like myself and yourself and Toby and Layla and all these other guys, and Tracy Walker, and all these people. Yeah. Yeah.

Building their business a different way. Some are using Facebook. Some are using Twitter. Some are using YouTube videos. Some are SEO geeks like us.

Some people aren't even using the internet. They're not even posting to their blog. They're hanging out with their family and friends and cracking out the crackers and cheese and the wine. Lots of wine. You get lots of $625 sales.

Right. That's the magic. The magic is you get into the inner circle and you give yourself permission to spend five, six, like you said, one webinar a week, whatever. Make it the inner circle weekly one.

Find out what these other guys are doing, and I guarantee eventually you'll find your place. You'll go, "That's it. That's it. That's my way. I'm doing videos now.

That's my way. Rob's way, bless his heart, but yucky, yucky poo, sticky poo, poo, stinky poo." And so find your way. And when you find your way, then find the mentor, the teacher, the coach, the person who is already producing the results, or even better, who is currently producing the results you're looking for.

Attach yourself to them like a scientist. Find that Siamese twin at the hip and do exactly what they say. Exactly what they say. And how could you not produce that result? Yes, I absolutely second that.

Yeah. So it doesn't have to be our way. It could be some way that we look at and go, "That's just stupid." Only if you want to go my way do you need to listen to exactly what I do.

But if you want to go another way, listen to exactly what they do. Yeah, that's exactly right. So find the person that's producing the result the way that you think you're going to. See, here's the magic. You have to feel comfortable, even though you may not know.

There's always going to be an uncomfortable learning curve. You're always going to get tired. There's always going to be challenges. Life isn't going to be fuzzy all the time. So I'm not saying that.

But what I'm saying is find the way that you think, once you have it down, once you go through the process, you're just going to enjoy doing it. It's not going to be work anymore. It's just going to be what you do to produce the results you're looking for. Then go find that guy and just do what they tell you to do.

Because we need to find the way that's comfortable for us. See, if you came to me and you said, "Rob, this is how we build Empower Network, we go buy 1,000 cold-ass business opportunity seeker leads per day, you pick up the phone and you call 100 of them per day, and that's how we build it,

and we're going to get rich." And let's say you're actually doing that. If I'm not comfortable doing that, I'm going to fake it for three or four days, but I'm not going to be congruent. So I'm not going to produce the incredible results you're producing. And I guarantee within a week I quit.

So you have to find the way that you believe you'll be comfortable doing. You master how to do it. I think that's the first goal we have to do, because SEO doesn't work for everybody. YouTube marketing doesn't work for everybody. But if that becomes your way, you'll add your touch of magic and your expertise to it, and you'll produce incredible results.

You'll laugh at yourself a year from now going, "I can't believe I took so long to step into my genius." Hmm. Love that phrase. I absolutely do. That is true, because everybody inherently has that in them.

It's just a matter of finding it. You just got to dig down deep and do some soul searching and ask yourself these questions and be honest with yourself. Some people are highly analytical and they do not have a skill set that allows them to connect with people and be outspoken and be gregarious and be very confident connecting with people on the phone, or in person. That's okay.

They can go and do paid traffic and learn SEO and do it that way and be good at it. And then you might have another person who could barely, they're like, "What is HTML?" You know, and they just know that if they go talk to people, they know that what matters is getting in front of people and exposing this thing. And they might just build this thing completely, you know, quote unquote offline, you know, for lack of a better word. You know, I mean, I know that I, although I do SEO, you know, on Facebook, just sending personal messages to my 800 friends on Facebook, personally, "Hey, are you open to making money blogging?

You know, if you are, let me know." I'm not pushing anything on them. I'm not sending them my link in that message. I'm not doing anything. I wait till they respond.

And then I say, "Okay, well, if you want to know, watch this video now, and after this, just do me the honor of being able to answer any of your questions. And if you want to know more about it, then let me know. But if not, just let me know that you're not into it. And that's completely fine, I'll never bug you about it again." You know?

Yeah, that's right. Yeah. It all boils down to exposure. And we just need to find the way that's comfortable for us, or what we think will be comfortable for us. Once we get past the learning curve of it, to get exposure, just to expose, you know, the whole Amway thing, show the plan, show the plan, you know, get your product, service, business opportunity in front of more people and you'll make more sales.

That's just the way it is. And the biggest myth is, no, it will not sell. You have to get it in front of people, then it will sell itself, you know? Absolutely.

And so let's shift a little bit before we bore the heck out of some people here, but I think that's actually the best material we've gotten all day, you know, but, you know, what would you see with an upcoming Empower Network event? What can you visualize or see? You know, you've been to a lot of events, you've been a speaker, you've been very celebrated, and many people love you. You know, what could you see, standing on an Empower Network stage, at an Empower Network event, that might be different or significant, being in that arena versus, you know, maybe some other conferences that, you know, are MLM, internet marketing, anything else. What do you see?

What's your vision for an Empower Network event? What do you see? Well, I see it gives us the opportunity really to take it a different direction. See, network, I love network marketing.

I love the network marketing industry. I love what it's been able to do in regards to, you know, creating true time and financial freedom for me and my wife. In fact, let me share with everybody, two weeks ago, almost exactly two weeks ago yesterday, I paid the final mortgage payment on my house.

Yeah. So it took us five years, but we saved over 27 years of future mortgage payments. We figured it out. We saved $479,000 by paying off this house early.

So that's almost a half million dollars I get to keep in my pocket. Well, see, I like network marketing. I like the challenge of building teams and things like that, but there's other people that think that's just horrible. That's just horrible. And they prefer to sell products and services, like Empower Network, where it's more of an affiliate marketing.

It's more of, let's just get a product and sell it. How do I get customers in my door? The customers shop on their own time. They look around, some of them buy, some of them don't, who cares. I don't even have to necessarily interact with them.

So it's actually a business platform that can make as much money, even more, freer, even more so. So I have a team of 11,000. As we've been on the call, you might've heard my phone 6, 8, 10 times so far in the past two hours, that's my day in network marketing. Now it doesn't have to be that way, because obviously I don't have to answer the phone, but based on what we're building here, your phone doesn't ever have to ring and you can still make enough money to pay off your house in two years.

See, that's the magic. So now the difference I see at an event, instead of trying to teach people, how do we get past all this, all the network marketing objections and all these things that come with that industry, we teach people how to just, like we just shared, step into their genius. How do we get past our hurts, habits, and hang-ups that are holding us back?

How do we dig a little deeper personally? Because not only do we have money, but now we have freedom and time to spend together. And how cool is that? We can make our money without the stress, there's, you know, in my business, there's a little bit of stress. There's a little bit of handholding and coaching and time-sucking vampires and, you know, all kinds of things out there in this business, and in this business model, the geniuses, we could have the same income opportunity, maybe even greater, without any of that.

So I think it opens the door to more fun stuff. We don't have to spend all our time talking about the how-to, in fact, we have to spend very little time talking about the how-to, and we can spend more time talking about how we're going to change the world. Now, what charity are we all going to embrace as a community? Instead of doing three days of how-to, how about three days of living into your genius and personal development? How about three hours of walking across fire or walking across broken glass in your bare feet?

Have you ever walked on broken glass to achieve your dreams and goals? Imagine being able to go home absolutely congruent. Have you ever walked across broken glass in your bare feet to achieve your dreams and goals? I have.

Well, I'll tell you what, I'd do it if it was to save my father, no question. That's absolutely right. So now we have an event where we do that. We do these quantum leaps and give people permission to have incredible off-the-hook success.

And they go home congruent. They come home with that look on their face that you saw on David three years ago. They come home with that settled conclusion going, "This is it. Are you coming with me or not?" And because of that congruency, the person has gone, "Well, absolutely.

Do I have three minutes to pack?" And that's all the difference. See, the difference wasn't you. The difference wasn't the opportunity. It could be any opportunity.

The difference is you have a settled conclusion. It's going to happen no matter what. And there is a difference. There is a difference. There is a difference.

There is no lukewarmness, no lukewarmness. It's a done deal. You started the thousand mile journey and you will complete it. You will end up in the land of Oz, because that's the way it's going to be. And when I see that in your eyes, when I hear that in your spirit, when I know that's a settled conclusion, if I too want to go to Oz, I'm with you.

And you'll find in that land of Oz that behind the smoke and mirrors is still a real person. And you'll find in that land of Oz that made a decision. I still, yeah, it's like, "Don't pay any attention to the man behind the curtain." He got there just like you did.

And he's smaller and just as scared, and just as unsure of different things in his life. But what he was sure of is he would get to the land of Oz no matter what. And he did. And so did you. That's what we were sure of.

Absolutely. Well, you know, we've gone into a lot of areas today, Rob. We've visited a lot of islands and a lot of lands, lands of the lost, so to speak. Lands of lost and lands of enchantment. And there's dinosaurs in those bushes.

Hey, in those land of VHS tapes, by the way, how did those, what did the dinosaurs really look like? Just ask it, you know? Yeah, it was, yeah, it's been an incredible road. It's kind of funny. I have some of the VHS tapes and some of the old, what do they call these things?

Cassette tapes. You know, you can't even hardly find a cassette player anymore. Now it's all MP3 stuff. Yeah. Yeah.

Crazy how it's all changed. They call CD players throwbacks these days. Yeah. Yeah. There used to be a thing called a Walkman.

Yeah. You could actually walk around and listen to music. It was amazing. Yeah. Yeah.

So one thing's for sure. We know that the only constant is change. Yeah. It's always constant and change. And you might as well embrace it.

You might as well. And most of us don't like change. I mean, here's a good example. Walk in your living, you know, walk in the door that you normally walk in into your house or your apartment, wherever you live. Don't walk in.

Just open the door and look. You're going to see this path down your hallway. It turns the corner, goes to the kitchen. You're going to see another path that goes directly to the bathroom. You're going to see another path that goes right to the martini bar, or whatever your habit is in life.

We are creatures of habit. Understand, we're creatures. We are creatures of habit. And take a moment every now and then to, don't walk in the door in robot mode, in sleep mode on purpose. Say, is what I'm getting ready to do a habit?

Should I take back control and maybe go a different way? Maybe I might produce a different result. You know, it's a habit. You know, if I drink a cup of tea, and this is, I was going to share this on stage one day and I thought, well, no. People will think I'm absolutely crazy and I'll lose my credibility.

Let's say you drink a cup of tea and that's your habit. Every morning you get a cup of tea and you sit down and you drink your tea. Well, what if tomorrow you pick up your cup of tea and you just go with it instead of just drinking your cup of tea habitually. Take it to a whole other level. What happens if you were to cry and a teardrop fell in that cup of tea and now it tastes a little salty?

So you pour it down the drain. Where would the water go? Well, it's obviously going to flow straight into the ocean and it's going to be swallowed by some fishes who get swallowed by a whale, who really grows really, really old, and he dies, and he decomposes. And what happens to a decomposing whale? Well, his elements return to the bottom of the ocean, where it turns into salty water, which is really horrible for drinking.

So they filter it and it comes back into your sink, and you're drinking a cup of tea. We just changed our habit. We just had a whole journey. With a cup of tea, imagine the journey when you give yourself permission to be more than, instead of less than. Yeah, you're crazy.

Yeah. No, that is awesome, because, you know, just imagine if you created habits that were successful habits that moved you toward what you wanted to create in your life every day, and those habits were in alignment. Imagine what you could create with your priorities and what you value in life. Imagine what you could create.

Yeah. And all it takes, Chris, you're absolutely right. Imagine how you could profoundly change the world for yourself and for the people you care about most, if you changed those habits in alignment. And all it takes is being aware. Be aware that we are creatures of habit.

Some of those habits are very disempowering. We can change them just by changing our mind. All we have to do is be aware that we're operating in habit. We're operating on remote control. So one of the things I did, and this is probably one of the most profound things that have made a difference for me, is, let's say I'm talking.

Let's say you and I are talking and you tell me, well, you should go buy this tool, or you should upgrade to the inner circle, or you should do whatever. And I hear myself coming up with a justification. Yeah, but. Mm hmm. To me, that's my clue.

I might be operating out of habit. That might be a hurt, habit, or hang-up that I've just been holding on to for many, many years because it's comfortable. So if I hear myself get upset, you know, somebody tells me something, there's upsetness coming in, or justification, or I find myself arguing. I have a retort to what you say. That's my clue.

Mm hmm. That's probably something I should take a look at, because I could very well be operating out of habit. Mm hmm. Yes. I've caught myself in those moments as well.

I know exactly that space and how that feels. It's not good. Yeah. Yeah, it's not good. But the neat thing is, once you catch it, once you catch a glimpse of that space, now you've given yourself a choice.

It's kind of like, you know, many people on the call might not even know that there used to be a thing called a record, like a 33 R.P.M. record, you know, these little round things that had grooves in it and it played music, you know, and a little arm would stick out with a little needle and it would play these songs, and they call them albums.

You know, well, they worked very, very well unless you scratched that record. If you put a scratch on it, it would jump these grooves. Well, it's kind of the same thing in our brain, our neurology, based on the habits and the habitual things we do every day. We've literally created neurology grooves in our brain.

We, as humans, we tend to take the path of least resistance. And so that's really what a habit is, just a path of least resistance. Well, it's what we do. So once we decide to find a way to take a look at those, in a very real sense, just by being aware and just by taking a look at it, we've scratched it. We put a scratch across that habit groove.

We put a scratch across that path. Now, if I look at it again and again and again over the next week, now, when I get to that point in my life where habitually I would just normally do this thing, I now have a choice. See, there's a hiccup in the road. There's a pothole in the road. I have a choice.

Well, I can continue to go down the habitual path, or I can change my mind this time and go down a different path. We're giving ourselves a choice. That makes sense. Absolutely. Yeah.

Where before we might not have had that choice. We just habitually go the direction we were told to go. That's it. And so it'd be safe to say that the real catalyst for change and creating results is not necessarily learning all of the details of how to do the work, but it's taking an honest look at what in your personal life, and your habits, and the way you think, and your personal development,

is a catalyst for change and being able to create success, because if you don't have that, then you won't learn all of the details and how-to's, and all the things that are actually very simple and easy. Right. Well, yeah. Well, that's absolutely right. Until you get to that place where you saw, that you shared, that you saw in David's eyes three years ago, until you get to that place of absolute certainty, settled conclusion in your own spirit.

You don't need to know the how, you don't need to know the why, you don't need to know what direction, you know, what kind of path do you have to follow, but you have to have that settled conclusion, until you can come from that point of congruency. It's not going to happen. It's going to be a struggle. I mean, it could happen.

You could struggle, struggle, struggle for many, many years and, you know, get incremental results. But once you come from that place of congruency, you come to that settled conclusion, the how or why just will happen. It will seem like magic. You know, it's like, "Look, mom, an overnight success took me 20 years, but."

But it's when that settled conclusion happens, you know, because like you said, you and David have been hanging out forever. But once you saw that settled conclusion, three years later, look at the miracle. Yes, absolutely. I couldn't even tell you exactly what he said. It was the tone of voice and the look in his eyes, you know?

Yeah. Yeah. The how didn't matter. It was going to be done. It was.

It's going to be done. Yeah. Yeah. Period. Space.

Space. So. All right. Well, let's wrap it up. And I know I've had you here.

We've gone two hours, Rob. Yeah. Yeah. It's kind of crazy. Yeah.

I'm getting ready to go to a restroom break. Got to powder my nose. You know, this is what I was going to get to, SEO geeks together. Yeah. We have these secret bags.

But I know we've added a lot of value to the inner circle members today, because, you know, I took on this challenge with Dave and said, "Look, let me have these people get their money's worth in this inner circle." Let me go and extract and get inside the minds of some of the best people in this industry. And let's bring that to the forefront and let's show people what we're doing. And let me help create the value of this hundred-dollar-a-month product.

And I have gotten a resounding yes, that even just one, you know, one interview itself was worth the money for many, many, many people who have listened to interviews. And I have no doubt that this is exactly one of those as well, if not even more. Yeah.

Well, it's one of those neat things. You know, you and I have talked at different events. And it's one of those neat things where you have that spirit of, I don't even know how to say it, I guess a spirit of honesty and integrity, and that you honestly care enough to care. See, there's a lot of marketing.

There's a lot of marketers out there that care enough to get your money, but they don't really care. And you care enough to care. You know, you and I have had conversations where we both got emotional. You know, we just care. We just care about people.

And I think that's what you're going to find in our community here. You're going to find people who care. Yeah, we care enough to get your money, but we really do honestly care as well. So, you know, I want to say, Chris, from man to man, I personally love that about your spirit.

Thank you. I think it's just cool. Thank you. I received that. Thank you very much, buddy.

I really do appreciate it. It means a lot. It really does. All right. Well, hey, I guess till we meet again.

That's it, my friend. Until we meet again, at a Costa Rica event or another event. And definitely we'll plan to have you back on another Inner Circle interview before too long here, as things progress. And we can talk about the cool happenings inside Empower Network. And, you know, it'll just be an amazing journey.

And I'm excited and looking forward to taking it with you. All right. Sounds like fun to me. All right. I'm going to go bail.

I got to go bail too. All right. All right. Thanks. You're welcome.

Have a good one. You too. All right. Bye. You're listening to a private recording and a non-disclosure Empower Network customer training.
