Okay, welcome to this exclusive Empower Network Inner Circle interview, and because you're listening to this, you're in the right place at the right time. My name is Chris Rushlow, your host, your designated driver through the cyber waves. A quick reminder for everyone, let's block out all distractions, all background noises, tune them out, turn off the TV, make sure cell phones off or on silent, close out Skype or email. You definitely want to hear what we're talking about today. My guest, Beau Bridgewater, has a background as a server and a bartender in the restaurant industry and has been a staple to the Empower Network leaderboards ever since we launched and shows no signs of slowing down.
His self-described yo-yo experiences in the network marketing industry has taken him down a path of many lessons, failures, and triumphs along the way. Sometimes the money made in internet marketing were just enough to pay the bills, as well as other times where he had streaks of major success. Finding a home at Empower Network has allowed him to make more money than he ever had before in a month, and the money now just keeps rolling in. With us to share what he has learned on this crazy journey we call internet marketing, ladies and gentlemen, Beau Bridgewater.
How are you, buddy? Hey, Chris. I'm doing great. I appreciate you having me here today. Awesome, man.
Yeah, this is going to be a good one, man. I'm really looking forward to this. You were one of the people that, when we started Empower, we didn't know a couple people on the leaderboards. One of them was William. It was you.
And Dave and I looked at the leaderboard, and we saw your name. He was like, well, who's this guy? He's just quietly making all kinds of money out here, and we've got to find out who he is. For me, it's a real treat to be able to sit down and talk with and make new connections and be able to learn from and talk to people that we never would have probably crossed paths until, or at least later, at a later time, except through the Empower Network. So, yeah, really glad to be here, man.
So, I'm just interested to hear your story and how you got started in the internet marketing industry. What led you to get started in it, and why so? Why have you gone on this path? So, this is something that we love to start out with, and it's just we want to know where you're coming from, Bo. Who are you?
And tell us about why you're here and why you've come to internet marketing. And to the Empower Network. But first, start with your story and where you're from and how you got here. Okay. Well, let's see.
First things first, I live in southwest Washington State, a really small town, about 2,000 people. Wow. So, the great thing about internet marketing, for sure, is that it opens up the world to you. But at the time, I was really searching out for another way to create more. And one of the things that really opened my eyes was when I was working on a cruise ship out of Hawaii.
And I was working about 80 to 100 hours a week. And I had a great time doing it, don't get me wrong. But when you're the employee side of that aspect, it's not a holiday. But you have a lot of fun with the guests and everything while you're there. But it kind of opened my eyes.
I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit. I had previously run a little bit of a like a costume clothing retail online and through music festivals. And I enjoyed doing kind of the selling aspect and the creating aspect with that. But I didn't pay all the bills.
So, I searched out more employment, which led me to the cruise line industry after being in a very cold and rainy winter in Seattle, Washington. And there was a nice ad for going to work on a cruise ship in Hawaii. And I said, that looks like an option. Well, you're all kinds of fun, huh? And, you know, so jumped on that and got out there.
But, you know, right away realized that there was a lot more to it. And basically, you're there for five months straight, no days off. So, it's a full-time commitment. You know, the bonus side is, you know, you have a place to sleep and they feed you. And so, you know, you have a chance to save some money, but it's not a family lifestyle for sure.
And so that led me to looking into, you know, additional income streams. Started doing some studying into real estate and taking some courses, reading books, etc. And then the internet marketing kind of developed from that after being on the ship and not really having any other options on ways to really create any other income to kind of move forward. And so...
Yeah, I mean, I hate that. That's nuts, man. I mean, we just, it's funny that you say this now because just a couple of weeks ago, Dave and I and some other people got, you know, we were on a cruise to Mexico for a company that sent us there.
And we, I had a chance to talk with some of the people that worked on the ship. And it was amazing. It blew me away. I mean, for them.
And this is in the Caribbean, you know, six to ten, like ten-month contracts. Oh, yeah. And it's every day. There's no, you know, there's no real breaks.
And these days are long, long days. And I just thought, man, this is insane. This is nuts. How does anybody keep this up? You know, how do you do this for so long?
So that had to have been a great catalyst to motivate you to go, okay, well, what else can I do here? Absolutely. It was definitely a great driving factor to move forward. And, you know, let's see, you know, what was the real transition? Well, you know, I tried my hand.
I did network marketing early on and being green and not really knowing what I was doing. You know, I got involved with a company where I enrolled three people an entire year and, you know, beat the doors and phone calls of all the friends and family and got the awkward responses. You know, and that kind of created a little more pain in itself. And, you know, which really turned on the idea of, well, internet marketing sounds so bad when you're just presenting an idea or a product to people. You don't know and you don't have to talk to them and they can go and buy it and you can get paid.
You know, that started to really stimulate this could be, you know, a much better option for, you know, enjoying some income without all that struggle of trying to convince people that, you know, to do something that they're not interested in anyways. Absolutely. And we all know what that's like. Man, all kinds of fun. I think I sometimes, you know, I think I still have flashbacks every once in a while.
Where I think about what it's like to go back to those people and what they would say now, you know, after you went to them before and they just those awkward responses and how people will respond to you and it just kind of blows you away and you don't get it. And it's funny because I think that because you get such a weird response from some people because you might not necessarily at the time know very much about how to do this thing and how to recruit and develop that recruiting skill set. And it causes you to just think those people are nuts. And so you keep on going because you don't think about it. You think, okay, well, I just had a string of people that are just, you know, they got to be a little crazy.
I mean, they just don't get it yet. So, you know, I'll go back and pound them over the head later and try to convince them again later after I go get some success. You know, it's funny how we have that mindset. I think that actually makes people continue on for a little while longer because they look at people and go, oh, they got to be nuts. Let me go to the next one.
Oh, this person got to be nuts too rather than going, well, what the heck am I doing here that's causing this, you know? Well, you hear about the success stories and, you know, you think, well, gosh, people are having success. You know, there's got to be a way to do it correctly and, you know, and make it work out. And it's just, you know, figuring out that path but also being tenacious enough to stick it out like you just said and keep moving forward until it starts to click for you. And you can.
You can get to the next level. But inside of that, you know, it kind of pushed me towards, I started doing some affiliate marketing with ClickBank products and did some pay-per-click and kind of, you know, struggled along there. I made about half as much money as I spent on my advertising. But again, I didn't have any experience or education. It was more like jump in and just mess around with it.
And I think that's even part of the fast start with Empower, as David said, you know, you just got to get in there and try it out and see what works and tweak it and keep moving forward. And so, you know, in line with that, I just started picking up. I started with a small kind of an online program and affiliate marketing and get out there and market it a little bit and have a little bit of success but not a lot. And that kind of holds a lot of people back, too.
Because you're constantly thinking, you know, you see people doing well and you're like, why am I not doing well? You know, they're doing it. So what am I doing wrong? And I had an experience where my sponsor was, you know, on the leaderboard every single week. And, you know, and I'm just doing my marketing like I think I'm supposed to be doing it.
But I'm not getting any results. And it was frustrating, you know, without a doubt. You know, you're spending all this time, but it's just like you're spinning your wheels. You know, spending a little bit. You're spending a lot of money.
But I think there was a barrier there where there wasn't, you know, I also didn't know what to do correctly 100%. But at the same time, there was the barrier of, you know, am I willing to spend that extra money on marketing? Or, you know, what is it that's going to make it actually, you know, jump to the next level and start putting some money back in my pocket? And, you know, and I asked him, I said, you know, what exactly are you doing to be on the leaderboard every week? And, you know, it wasn't like a super huge.
It wasn't like a super huge philosophy that he came back to me with. It was more like, you know, I'm doing this paid marketing and I'm doing this paid marketing. I'm doing an ad a day at these sites and I'm doing a few more here. I'm like going, geez, you know, I couldn't swallow that. But I did know that if I wanted to at least try to have the experience, I was going to have to mentally commit to do more.
And so, so I just, you know, I decided I found some sites that were a little less expensive, but it was paid marketing. And that was my initial experience. And I just started doing an ad a day, you know, really being more committed than how I seem to think a lot of people get out there when they're beginning. And they just do a little bit of marketing.
They wait for the results. They don't think it works. And then they quit on themselves, which is really sad. But you have to, you have to push through that. And once I did that, I just had, you know, it was kind of like it was the first aha moment for me.
Where I started to get the results coming in, I started getting more leads, I started having more sales, and that transition, you know, gave me the confidence to know that this can, this can really work. And, you know, it wasn't a big program, so there wasn't tons of money coming into my pocket. But I just saw that if I could get a sale, I could get another sale and I could keep repeating the process. And that was really encouraging to have happen. And so, and from there, you know, I.
Kind of built up and continued to try new programs and new avenues along the way. Yeah, well, it's funny that you get, and it seems to be, it seems to keep coming up a lot where every certain, you know, people had you reach a certain threshold where you keep doing something, keep doing something, keep doing something, and then it's like it seems as though most people who don't do well, who fail at it, it's right before that threshold that they quit, and if they just kept on going, they would normally experience what you've experienced, which would be a breakthrough when you go, wow, I made a sale. How did I do that?
Let's dissect that and then let's do that again and replicate it. Right. And I think that if most people got to that, then they would continue going. But, you know, I think the thing that needs to be stressed here is that, you know, even though you were having a tough time and you realize how much money you were losing at the time, you know, that you weren't really losing that money because that was great experiential education for you. Oh, yeah, definitely.
Yeah. And so it makes it much easier once you get it, then you just start replicating it. And it's like that threshold. And if we can just get people past that threshold, then they'll keep going and they can build upon these things such as what you did. Well, and I know at the time it's really difficult because you're questioning yourself.
Is this really worth it? Am I on the right track? But, you know, if you look to those people who are, you know, experiencing what you're looking to experience and you try to emulate them, you know, a nicer word for copy. But, you know, you know, basically, you know, you learn by, I think I heard it in one of the interviews too with Rob for, but, you know, it's like, you know, copy those who are successful.
And I've heard it time and time again. And it's just it's true. You know, you learn from those who are having the success and you emulate what they're doing. And then there's the mental part of that too, that you really have to focus on building yourself up and self-education. And.
You know, it just helps give you that confidence, what you're putting into your mind, you know, allows you to focus back out into your world. Now, you had said a couple of times that there were months where, you know, you might have been in between jobs, you know, on unemployment and internet marketing had just, you know, you had some ups and downs. And at times it really did just get you by with being able to pay your bills and everything. Can you talk a little bit about that and how that kind of happened?
Well, you know, definitely when the economy started going down, if it wasn't for internet marketing, you know, we wouldn't have survived. We really wouldn't have. I mean, the additional income been able to generate made a huge impact. And I mean, even my wife was laid off a year and a half ago and that was impacting. But I wasn't.
So scared anymore because I had the internet marketing, that consistency of additional income there. You know, it's almost, you know, I want to call it a second job because it's really, it's turning into a career at this point. And, you know, where can we go with this, Chris? It's, well, it's something that I'm just, I wanted to hear if there were any specific stories about what had happened specifically where, I mean, yes, you just barely made it along.
But then. And also, I mean, there's other times where, I mean, you've done very, very well, but it would seem to be, you said so yourself, some yo-yo experiences where you've gone to some companies and they didn't necessarily work out the way you thought they were going to. So, yeah. Yeah. You know, especially with internet marketing, a lot of times when something launches, you know, there's a lot of excitement there and you can, you know, get in there.
And it looks like a great concept. And, you know, if you go hard with your marketing, get it out there in front of people as a converting platform, you know, you can make some money. But it seems like it also goes up for a little bit. And then all of a sudden it just, it kind of disappears on you.
So the income isn't long term, you know, the pro side of that is, well, I think there's a lot of competition out there in the marketplace, is one thing. And, you know, people are trying to be innovative. And they start a new idea or twist something that's already been done and create it a little bit differently. The internet marketing platform or business opportunity marketing platform is a little bit different.
You know, it's this online, the digital products, and there seems to be a different kind of attachment to a non-tangible product than a tangible product or the information marketing arena. Yeah, definitely. Okay, that makes sense. So throughout your experiences, you've been through a couple of companies, or you said there were a couple of companies that just didn't work out too well, or you had some leadership that didn't necessarily bring you in the right direction. You were able to overcome a lot of that.
But maybe talk a little bit about some of the companies and experiences you had. I know that for one, you said you had gone to a company where your upline had started bringing you to a few different, you know, companies. And keeping on basically jumping ship companies and how you had lost quite a bit of a downline through that. Okay, yeah, well, I can start, I suppose, a little bit previous to that, but lead right into it. Absolutely.
You know, I've kind of gone from my experience, was going from, you know, building my way up. I went from small ticket, ten dollars to twenty dollars to one hundred dollars. And then I jumped to a bigger ticket program and, you know, started doing marketing, having some success, you know, to the point of making, you know, a few thousand dollars in a week. Or, you know, close to five figures in a month. And that was really exciting, you know, but I had an ethical conversation that came up for myself when I had some adult, parents, or adult children, excuse me, of their parents who got involved in a program that I was marketing.
And they, you know, politely asked me not to contact their father anymore because, you know, he had spent all of his money in all of these kind of, you know, home business programs. And, you know, it really hit me hard just because it made me ask myself, you know, what am I doing here? You know, I mean, I know that everyone's an adult and they can make their own decisions and choices. And, you know, it takes a certain commitment to make, you know, a successful practice of the home business. But, you know, it just made me ask myself, am I doing the right thing here?
And, you know, that kind of transitioned back to network marketing. And I found a great program. That was marketing offline. And that was their goal, was marketing offline through postcard marketing. But again, I found that, you know, in a matter of a few months, I did the program.
I was making all my sales online where it was promoting postcard marketing, was, you know, what it was doing. And I was basically marketing the offline concept to people online, you know, who are probably, you know, their pain was they're sick and tired of doing marketing online, not getting anywhere. So they join. But then, you know, I wasn't making sales. I wasn't making sales offline either.
So, again, I'm asking myself, are we doing the right thing here? And, you know, and so I kind of pushed that aside and I found another great internet marketing platform for a company. And, you know, and we gained investors with it. And in a matter of days, you know, I had enrolled 30 people under this program. I thought this is it.
This is going to be fantastic. And it was really exciting. But, my sponsor in that program, their sponsor, we got connected and he had this great story that he was, you know, a superstar of the industry in the past, made millions of dollars and, you know, had all this experience. And so being a, I guess, a budding entrepreneur wanting success, you know, I was magnetically kind of attracted to this story.
And because of that, you know, this person offered a specialized co-op for our whole group, and they were going to guarantee, you know, anybody who joined this co-op was going to be able to hit certain pin levels in the company in a certain amount of time. And so in my group that I had just created, you know, people I didn't really know 100 percent, is through internet marketing, they said, okay, you know, they wanted to have the success too. So I think my group maybe came up with around eighteen thousand dollars that they had put into this co-op.
And basically within a couple weeks, this superstar was telling us, oh, this company is no good. Things are going bad. You know, we need to get into this company. And so, you know, you know, first time around, it's like, oh, well, maybe he knows something we don't know, you know, he's been, his story.
He's super successful. He's a multimillionaire. And so we started doing calls and lining people up for this next company. He even got me flown out to their corporate event. I thought.
Wow, this is awesome. This is fantastic. This is where I want to be. You know, someone's getting me flown out to an event. Wow, I must be doing the right thing.
And well, you know, and that was great. But then a couple of weeks later, there was another company and, you know, before I knew it, and I took another company and two more events. And all of a sudden it's like, you know, now we've got people who are saying, where's my money in this co-op? What's going on? And.
You know, all of a sudden you're in an entirely different situation where, you know, the credibility is out the window. You've got people, you know, you're telling you're not going to leave them behind. And all of a sudden you're following, you know, you're following the idea of what you want success to be. And maybe people are going to look at me and say, you know, well, couldn't you figured it out a lot sooner? And I guess maybe my blinders were on.
You know, I was trying to create the success and, you know, align myself with what I thought was the right people. But definitely was the wrong choice. And, you know, eventually had to, you know, cut the ties 100 percent, but just know that I still wanted to be able to do this, this home business platform to create my own success, to do more for my family, to be able to, you know, choose the school I want to send my son to, to be able to, you know, provide.
Go on the vacation. So our dreams, but at the same time, I still, more than anything, want to know that at the end of the day, I'm helping people achieve their goals, too. So that was a pretty heavy experience for me. And but since then, you know, continue to move forward. I do my own.
Go ahead. No, definitely go right ahead. Sorry, I was going to say. That segued into doing another internet marketing program, and it was a lot more successful for me, actually, off the tails of that, but it followed that yo-yo. And so it's, trying to continue that part of the struggle has been really the teeter-totter of it all.
Kind of grinding it out where it's like once you take your foot off the gas a little bit, the money goes right down again. Is that what kind of seemed to be the case there? No, that's true. That's true. Okay.
Definitely happens. Okay. All right. And so from that, so you got into this next company, and you were kind of income going up and down, which it's going to a little bit obviously. Oh.
Yeah. And then from there, what happened next? From there, I ended up joining another network marketing company that I've been with for about the last year and a half, and it's a newer company, so it has its own, I guess, growing pains that they're going through, but I see a strong vision with that, so I'm definitely excited about that. But at the same time, it's brought the income in, but it just didn't compare to leading into today with being introduced to Empower Network, the direct sale, 100% commissions.
That experience has been, you know, over and above. I mean, it paid for my family to go to Orlando at the beginning of this year for a week vacation, and I think we talked about, you're headed off somewhere tropical too, Chris, but I kind of was visualizing my future for a three-month block somewhere sunny because there's a bunch of snow on the ground right now here. Yeah, I'm heading out tomorrow to Hawaii. I've got some family there that go there, got a timeshare every year, so, and it's been, yeah, it's been one heck of a month of travel.
I think I've been home a total of maybe six or seven days that I'll be home out of the month from traveling, and I think that's just one of the great things about internet marketing and being able to use your computer. I mean, because you can go, you can do this from anywhere. All you need is an internet connection, so it gives you that flexibility to do that, which is the awesome part about it. Absolutely.
Absolutely. So you're solid with the company. You've got a good company that you're standing behind that you see the vision, and that's important because that's a lot of the reasons why people join Empower as well, because of this vision. I mean, it's, you can't not see what the vision is and how it works here. So, so yeah.
If I'm guessing right, on the timeline, a year and a half ago you joined that company, doing pretty good, then jumped to Empower. Let's talk about what happened once you got into Empower. Well, it definitely was a grab to Empower. When I look at it now being involved is the education platform behind it, what we're doing right now, and just even in the basic fundamentals of the fast starts, you know. I mean, I love that.
You know, reading 15 minutes a day, listening to audios, you know, doing your marketing, testing it out. I mean, I love that. I think that's fantastic, and it's inspiring that the Dave's Squared are really, are making that, you know, bringing that to the reality, to the light, you know. It's, that it's 100% transparent and important. You have to, I mean, you have to self-educate, but you also have to, and by doing that, you're going to be able to do that.
You learn to believe in what you're doing. You learn to take your commitment level higher and become more directed, but obviously also you get the fundamentals. I mean, people always think it's just the fundamentals, the marketing aspect that makes you successful, but it's not. It's really about you believing in you and you deciding to commit to your success, and I mean, the Empower Network platform being 100%. And the leverage comp plan there, it's just, it's a fantastic way to make good money, and I've never made as much money as I made in a month until Empower Network.
So I definitely have to give a special thank you for that. Oh, yeah. I mean, and we're getting that story all over the place. It's really cool to hear as well. People have never made money before.
Making a lot of money, what is it that, you know, and here's the question that, you know, probably a lot of people listening to right now, you know, we've heard, you know, your story in the past and what you've done and what you were doing, and you were trying out different things and different paid traffic, but you know, to make this, I mean, you haven't made, this is a lot of money you've made here, I mean, this is not just a little bit of money, you've made a lot of money, you know, and so what is it that you're doing to generate the income inside of Empower Network now?
Well, I do daily solo ads and a lot of safe list mailers to be specific, and then it's really follow-up, and I think building some relationships over time as well makes a big difference. But, you know, if you're a new person and you were just getting started, you know, it's critical, at least to me, that, you know, as you start to have lead generation, you know, you find a platform that brings in some traffic and create some leads, and following up with those leads consistently, especially a lot in the beginning, because that's when their attention is, you know, as focused as it's going to be on Empower. I mean, you know, they may be a person who can put something aside and come back, but most people, you know, they're going to make their decision fairly soon.
But if you keep following up with them on a consistent basis, daily, and sometimes even multiple times a day if there's a lot going on, if there's, you know, an event, you know, you might want to remind them a couple times. I mean, that's just how it's worked out for me, especially if you're working with new lead traffic. Yeah, and that's exactly, and that's really is, and even Dave Squared, I'm so funny, I coined it. I did, you do that? We can, yeah, we can laugh about that, but you know, it's like, I said it one time to somebody on some interview, and from there all of a sudden, you know, Sharpe's now signing, you know, his emails Dave Squared, you know. I just thought it was so funny, you know. So, oh my god, what were we talking about? Oh my goodness. Okay.
Yeah, so, it shouldn't be that funny, although it is. So it comes down to, you know, fresh leads, right? You know, and you're talking about, you know, following up with people, and even Dave Squared has said, you know, and this is something you hear a lot as well, that the average person needs, you know, five to six to seven exposures before they make a decision. And so that sweet spot is about, you know, five, six, or seven exposures before the majority of people who are ever going to join will make that decision.
And so obviously, you know, for people who just want to have, you know, traffic come in and then expect the first time exposure to just sell them, and if not, that's it, and the person's gone, they're missing the boat here, you know. And so it's very true, and the good news is that we're having funnels starting to be built, follow-up funnels that were going to be done for people. But I also think that, you know, just like all of us, that we're here to build a relationship with people, this is still connecting with people. And so I would definitely believe, as well as others just like you probably do, that it would still be good, even if there's a corporate follow-up, to still send emails out when you have content that you've created on your own Empower Network blog that people can go and find out more about you and find out your personality, and decide whether or not your personality is, you know, in alignment with theirs. Do you have the same values, do you not have personality conflicts, belief system issues and such like that, you know, and maybe you're putting videos up of your face, and where you're talking so they can see you, and then they learn to trust you much quicker than, you know, if they're just watching the corporate videos, and who's this name, Beau Bridgewater, that I see, you know, showing up anytime I'm getting ready to sign up and thinking about it on the fence, you know.
So let's talk about that a little bit. So if we didn't have a funnel here, what would you do if you had to start over, to create a funnel where you've got multiple pieces of exposure being sent out to somebody on an autoresponder, which is obviously very easy to do, but you know, what do they need to see, you know, in your opinion, because you've done this, and you've done this very successfully. So I think that everybody listening should probably, you know, listen carefully to kind of the psychology behind how you cultivate that list of people and what you need to give them in order for them to make a decision.
Well, you know, I think, and I'm gonna, usually I'm a big proponent, and I'm gonna start off by saying copy and paste, you know, starting from whatever maybe the corporate website is, you know, sometimes there isn't a marketing funnel with the capture page up front, but I'll, you know, I'll start there with whatever the copy concept that's available on that website is. And then, you know, when you're talking about email follow-up, it's really about inspiring people, even if you're writing a letter as if you were writing it to yourself, where, you know, you're kind of, I know if you look at the fundamentals, you're looking at psychological triggers to get people to take action and click the link, but at the same time, it's more like, you know, you're calling to question people what they're thinking about, you know, where's their pain, and how could, you know, directing them because you know that what you're offering is a solution to that.
And so a lot of times it's, I'm not as cultivated where it's off, you know, it's in the moment, or maybe let's say a corporate mail comes out and there's a few, you know, key things that stick out to me that grab my attention. I might take those pieces, those topics that are little highlights, kind of slogans, and I'll, you know, put them into my own email. And then sometimes, you know, I think it's kind of good, like if you have a little bit of success, to be able to share that. So I might make a, you know, a testimony video, and just, but, you know, and paint a picture that, you know, this is possible for you too, you know, you can accomplish this too. And I think that a lot of times people need to hear that they can, that they can do it too. And if they have a chance to see, you know, and see your face, see that you're a real person, I think we talked about this a little bit earlier, you know, even the most successful people have a tendency to be too shy at certain times in certain places. But, you know, when you're out there, if you just, you know, do it, and you make a decision you're going to be able to do it, and you make a video or something, people will connect with you. They'll just, you know, it's almost a magical thing, and maybe I subconsciously do some of the magnetic things that, you know, I'm learning from David Wood, but I think that the biggest thing is doing it. Number one, if you just sit and think about it, nothing will ever happen.
So, and that's kind of where I've come from. It's a lot of, you know, I know that the follow-up is going to be a lot of important, I know, like you said, it takes seven, ten, twelve exposures, so I better have that many emails going out and have fun with it, you know. Just, people are people, and you know they want to get away from whatever it is, you know, that they don't want to have in their life. You know, if they don't want to have that job, or you know, if they're having a bad day, you know, do something that's fun and exciting, a little entertaining. But also, you know, the whole point is that, you know, they want to make money from home too. So tell them they can, and direct them back to, in this case, Empower Network, because that's a way that they'll be able to accomplish that.
So you are very much so a proponent of taking that email swipe copy and sending that along to your personal list as well, or at least parts of it? Okay. Oh yeah, definitely. I mean, I think it might be an oversight for some people, but it's definitely how I survive, you know. As soon as that comes out, I mean, if I'm in front of the computer, it's going right back out to my group of people and my list that I've built.
Well, I think it's important that you say that, because I mean, that's kind of where I wanted to go with that, was to have you explain kind of the elements of that, and then, you know, that we highlight the fact that yes, that swipe copy accomplishes that for people, even if you're using that swipe copy back to your own personal, you know, blogs, or the links are going back to the blogs, your own personal list. So I think it's important that you say that, because you're using that swipe copy back to your own personal content, you know, and so it's that simple, where you've already got that high quality converting emails, because I'll tell you what, man, I mean, I've looked at copywriting, and you know, I know some of the best copywriters in the world, I've studied their stuff, and I have to say, I don't say this lightly, but some of the best copywriting I have ever seen in my life comes out of those two guys. Really? Does it really? They can't, some of these guys who teach major courses can't even hold a candle to how well these guys do this. I mean, and the numbers show for themselves, so it's that simple. And Chris, it works. I mean, that's the bottom line, it works. And I think, you know, even coming from me, sometimes, you know, I'm not sure 100% what I'm gonna send, the perfect message out. But you know, I can certainly read good messages, I know what makes me want to click on the link. So you know, if it's saying, Bo, click the link, you know, then I don't have a problem just doing a drag copy and paste there.
You go. Well, I mean, and this is set up, this is what we wanted to do for people, and now, you know, we can take this same concept of taking and borrowing and what you say, you know, for lack of a better word, copy what people do, what these successful people do, you know, it's the same thing with the core commitments. You know, what we have found is that through our interactions with so many leaders, we've, the things that we put together in the fast start training, the core commitments, have been what's the catalyst for the most successful people. And I know somebody who literally makes it a rule to go and read like five blog posts every morning from people in the industry, just so that they can get the wheels turning and exercise their brain and develop some thought around what they read, and then they can go very much easily crank out their own content with it, and their own unique spin on it, or their own unique twist, or their own unique take or perception on an issue, you know. They might go read certain blogs that are on the same, blog posts that are related to the same issue, and so this helps somebody be able to do something that a lot of people struggle with, which is creating a lot of content, and it becomes good because it's something you're doing every day. Once you get in those habits, you know, anything that becomes a habit starts working, and so these things with the fast start training, you know, they're going to be able to do something that a lot of people struggle with, which is creating a lot of content.
Have you found anything in there with the fast start trainings that really works for you that you might want to talk about, some at least that really work for you, or elements that work, you know, that speak to you? And the fast starts, in the core commitments, as I mentioned a little bit earlier, would be, you know, fine, reading books on self development, and you know, the wisdom of the ages is all there. And I like this one, but success leaves clues, you know. You look at the successful people, and if once you get, if you kind of investigate a little bit about them, they start recommending the same exact books over and over again. And you know, listening to people speak, these audios, I mean, I think that they can be transformational as well. You just start to, like a sponge, you just, you know, if you keep listening to, you know, the same good quality content, you're going to be able to, you know, you start to absorb it, and then it'll come back out through, you know, creating the person that you want to be. You know, you start studying those success principles, and then eventually start implementing them, you start believing them. You know, I think a lot of people, we question so much, you know, we have all these walls, because we've been raised in a certain style of, you know, go to school, get a good job, pension, retirement, etc., and it's not working.
Sounded like a great idea. People, yeah, sounded like a great idea at the time, huh? Doesn't really work out that way too well, so we're finding out. So I mean, I love to have a book bedside, and always, you know, whoever recommends something else, you know, I'm always ordering it, so there's something on the way. And I think, you know, I might, something we overlook is just how important that really is, and makes a significant difference. And you know, so I think, you know, sometimes we don't realize where part of our success chemistry comes from, as you know, when you go look back to what was I doing and thinking when I was a newbie versus now, after I've had some successes, and the stepping stones and the blocks are in place. I've often used an analogy with people about climbing a ladder, and you know, if you climb the ladder just a little bit, you're going to be able to do a lot of things. You know, you go up five feet, and then, you know, the next step is farther away, or what have you, you know, it's a little harder to get to, you jump back off, you go to the bottom. And you know, really, you know, success is like climbing the ladder, if you just keep taking one step at a time, eventually you'll get to the top, or you know, even if the top keeps going up because you make new goals, you know, you set where you want to advance yourself again and again, but you just keep taking a step at a time. Nobody jumps from the bottom to the top all in one step, it just, it's not possible. You have to build on yourself, keep investing in yourself, keep learning, keep growing, and you'll create, you know, you can create all your dreams and everything that you want to have happen for yourself.
So what would be some of the books that you personally would recommend, because you've talked about a lot of these, you know, that you keep hearing over and over again from these different sources, what resources and books would you recommend for personal development, the ones that have really impacted you? Well, I definitely say Think and Grow Rich, but you know, whether it be cliche or not, it's an absolute by Napoleon Hill. That's funny, that's the first one I always recommend too. So funny how that is, huh? I was just thinking it. Yeah, definitely, The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz. Yep, definitely. I had that one on audiobook, and I literally had that thing, the CDs in my vehicle, scratched so much because I just played it over and over again.
Magic of Thinking Big, yeah, definitely a big one there. What, some others, any other books that really help shape your paradigm and your thoughts and success habits? Well, The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino. No, absolutely, yep, love that one. It was funny, you know, a quick story with that. I was working at a car dealership, a brief stint I had when I was about 19, I worked for the summer at a car dealership selling cars, and I had that book sitting in my office, in my little cubicle that I had, and I was reading it when my sales manager came in, and he basically scolded me for even reading the thing, and said, no, you just need to go out and get in, you need to go and go sell cars, you don't have to worry about all that theory BS, you know, it's just much theory, you know, go out there and go sell some cars, you learn how to do it, you know. And funny how he was, like, fired a month later and all, so I just kind of found that correlation kind of funny, you know.
So any other, you know, he's not an originator, but The Secret of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker, he kind of, he rebrings in, you know, the wisdom of the ages, in that particular book, and he was one of the first people I actually went to see in a seminar, phenomenal experience for self-development. And just, you know, let's see, I mean, he's even got his own music album, I mean, I downloaded his music, you know, the motivational cheesy music that you get from that stuff, and I mean, I have to admit, you know, Dave always gave me a lot of crap about it, you know, but I even, here's the funny, I don't tell people, but I guess it's out and put it out there now, I used to even listen to the old Amway tapes, the music, you know, and I mean, there were some that were just absolutely god awful horrible, when I look back and I listen to them, go, just to think I drove around listening to that stuff, like, you know, for heaven forbid, I sang along with some of those things, you know. And you know, but because they're just so cheesy, but at the same time the messages were powerful, they were extremely positive, and you don't get music like that, you know, on like mainstream radio or anything like that. But yeah, and even T. Harv Eker, he's a great musician, he's got some excellent good stuff. I was just even listening to it up until a couple months ago, I even go run to it, you know, and I hate to admit it, but you know, the stuff's, you know, it works, you know, as funny as it is, I played it around Dave and he's laughing at me, you know, but you know, well, you know, it works.
So yeah, I know what you mean. Well, Bo, I mean, this has been very educational, and this really makes sense as to, now I have a lot better understanding, you know, you're gonna stay on those leaderboards, you know, and I don't think you're going anywhere, you know, you've got a home here. And I think that most people, you know, hearing your story about the upline that kept on bringing you to another company and front end loading you, and you know, getting you to invest a bunch of money and everything and taking advantage of your team, you know, that's sad enough as it sounds, there are those who make their living in the industry that way, who have a mindset that, you know, they create a big buzz around something and then go to the next thing and do the same thing again, and it's sad, you know, and that's something we wanted to eliminate here at Empower, where we give people the mechanism, there's no reason to go do that, you know, which is one of the reasons for the really non-traditional comp plan, to say the least, I think to say the least is an understatement there. But I think it gives people the incentive, you know, no reason to go anywhere, you know, I mean, how much better can you get.
So with that, you know, that's why we're here, and we're definitely really glad and thankful to have you along, Bo, and really do appreciate the time and definitely look forward to talking to you again. With that, any last words, Bo, any final thoughts, closing thoughts? You know, I just want to say thank you, Chris, and thanks for the Empower Network, it's been a great experience, and look forward to being able to share it with other people, and you know, I provide the education that we have here so people can take it to the next level and get to where they want to be.
