Justin V’s Facebook Story-Ad Method: Write From a Real State, Aim For Comments Not Likes
It’s one in the morning. Justin V has just put his two-year-old daughter back to sleep after a bottle and a diaper change, and instead of going to bed himself, he opens a blank notepad on his computer and starts writing. Not a sales page. A story, the kind that takes him three or four hours to get right, written in a quiet room because that’s the only place he can actually hear himself think. By the time he posts it the next day, it will go on to become one of his most shared ads ever. This session is William Wood sitting down with Justin to pull that process apart piece by piece, using an NLP technique called modeling, where instead of asking what someone usually does, you drop them back into one specific moment and dig into the goals, the evidence, and the exact steps underneath it.
Why doesn’t copying someone else’s winning ad ever get the same results?
Justin is blunt about this. People steal his photos and his wording, word for word, and still don’t get the same response. William’s read on why is simple. The ad isn’t really the product being sold. What’s actually moving through the screen is a state, the specific feeling Justin is in while he writes, and you can’t script your way into somebody else’s internal state. He writes his highest performing posts from that same quiet, late-night stretch, after everyone else in the house is asleep, because that’s when he can access what he calls downloading, the sense that something true is coming through rather than being manufactured for an algorithm. Skip that part and you’re left holding a template with none of the electricity that made the original work.
This is also where the target audience question gets answered differently than most people expect. Justin didn’t pick his niche by chasing what looked profitable. He picked it by asking what had actually shifted his own life, landed on an idea about how thought shapes results, and has written to that same audience for years because he genuinely believes it. That specificity is what lets a total stranger read three paragraphs and decide to trust him enough to open up in the comments.
What actually makes people comment, share, and message you instead of scrolling past?
The metric Justin tracks isn’t likes. A like costs a stranger nothing. What he’s watching for is comments, shares, and private messages, because each one is a small act of trust that a like never is. Of anyone who engages that way, he says, “It gives you digital permission to contact them.” That’s a far warmer door to walk through than a cold message to someone who’s never heard of you. His ads end with a plain, three-step ask: comment if you want to be mentored, send a private message, share it if it meant something. People follow directions surprisingly often when the ask is that specific.
Underneath the tactics, William names the actual mechanism directly.
people really aren’t buying the product or service so much as they’re buying this feeling that they get.
Which is why a long, honest story about a real struggle consistently outperforms a polished, generic pitch. The story carries the feeling. The pitch just carries information, and information alone rarely moves anyone to type a comment at eleven at night. Justin’s structure walks a reader through a real problem, a real failed attempt, and a real turning point before it ever asks for anything, because by the time the ask shows up, the reader already feels like they know him.
How do you actually know when it’s time to write?
It would be easy to hear all this and decide Justin simply has a gift most people don’t, that he’s more naturally inspired than the rest of us. He pushes back on that read directly. What changes his state before he writes isn’t mysterious or unrepeatable. It’s a short list of rituals he actually does, yoga, breathwork, quiet stretches carved out around a toddler’s schedule, repeated consistently enough that by the time he sits down, he’s already back in the state where the honest version of the story is available to him.
The lesson underneath the whole session isn’t wait until inspiration shows up. It’s build the conditions that get you there on purpose, and only then start writing. That distinction matters if you’ve ever sat down to write something for your business and produced three flat sentences you deleted. The problem usually isn’t the writing. It’s that nobody taught you the part that happens before the writing, the part where you get quiet enough, honest enough, and out of your own way enough for something real to come through.

William Wood here, and I'm here with the famous Justin Varengia, and we're going to be doing some NLP modeling around traffic. And this is a bonus. This is not something that we promised inside of the presentation. Really, what you're paying for is you're paying for the live two-plus-hour coaching sessions that are going to be happening six times.
And this is something that you qualify to have access for. And qualify means that you actually follow through with the assignments that we give you. And most of you by now will have already done your first assignment, which is to go ahead and to write up your outcomes. And probably by the time you've seen this, we've already given you your second assignment.
And we've brainstormed those with leadership counsel, and those will be evolving over time. And really, our hope is that we are giving you assignments that won't keep you busy, but that will move you forward. This is about creating a massive brain. And this is one way of incentivizing you to do just that.
It's also a way of getting you some of the key, not only mindset training, but skill set training that you're going to need to be able to break through to the next level. And who better to do that with? I was talking with the leadership counsel last night, not everybody, but a handful of them, those that can make it to the planning call. And we asked, who does traffic better than anybody?
And it was interesting because I asked them each for their opinion. And the same name came out right on top. And so, Justin, I just want to let you know that the leadership counsel, even when you're not there, is speaking very, very highly of your ability to do traffic. So good to have you on, man.
I appreciate it. It's truly an honor to be here. I'm really excited to show you all what it is that I'm doing that's netting the results my wife and I are getting right now within this community. Yeah, that's super excited.
I mean, I want to give them a standing ovation right now. But this is going to be pretty organic, meaning we're just going to be just talking, free-flowing. We're going to be using NLP modeling technology, and you're going to learn something about NLP modeling as you go. Now, some of NLP modeling is more art than science, and some of it is very, very structured.
We're going to start off with a very, very structured piece. And I just want to let the audience know a little bit about it, because really at the heart of NLP is modeling. When people think about NLP, they think about this technique or that technique. And that's really useful when you're starting off learning NLP.
It's hard. It's hard to just learn NLP from scratch if you don't know anything about it. There's no technique to attach it to. But years ago, Richard Bandler said this.
He said, or something to this effect. It's probably a loose paraphrase. He said, NLP is an attitude and a methodology that leaves behind a trail of techniques. So it's an attitude and a methodology that leaves behind a trail of techniques.
Now, I think there's a few things important. The attitude that I think that he's talking about there, and really we can only ask Richard to know, is the attitude of curiosity, right? Is to get really curious, like what are people doing? And in this case, I know that I am super curious about what it is that Justin is doing to create the level of response that he's gotten from prospects and also the type of traffic that he has.
The methodology that is NLP is the methodology of modeling. And then everything else. Notice how he says. He says, it leaves behind a trail of techniques.
And I would emphasize the leaves behind. The techniques of NLP are the least important part of NLP. They are important. The core of NLP, what built NLP and what continues to keep NLP on the cutting edge of things is the art and science of modeling.
Now, modeling is about finding the difference that makes a difference in somebody's attitudes, beliefs, behaviors. And so today we're going to be exploring a lot of things. We're going to use this model that was created. It was created by one of my mentors to help with the modeling process.
It gives you a way of simplifying an otherwise fairly complex thing. It's called the GEO model. And GEO stands for goals, evidence, and outcomes. It's not the be all end all of the modeling processes.
You can think of it like being at the heart of the modeling process. It gives you a springboard to start and then go from there. One of the things that we say with NLP modeling is that you want to put when you're modeling someone, you don't want to talk about what they usually do. I was just talking to Justin about this off.
And that is that if somebody asked me how I do NLP with a client in the context of a coaching session, I might give one answer. If you asked me what I did 10 minutes before I got on this call with the very last person that I was doing coaching with, I might give you a very, very different answer. And what we say is that modeling happens in a specific context. And that means that for Justin, we're going to be putting him in to actual ads that he's doing rather than talking about it.
We're going to be talking about maybe what he usually does or what he does a lot. Not that that doesn't have value, but that's not really modeling. So with that in mind, we're going to be talking about goals, evidence, and outcome inside of a very specific situation. And what I've asked Justin to do is I've asked him to identify at least three examples of different types of traffic that he's run maybe in the last little while to produce the results that he's doing.
So this is like cutting edge stuff, what's happening probably in the last little bit. So tell me these three examples that you gave me. Are these relatively recent? Are they old?
Are they? Yeah, good question. The first two that come to mind are the two that I do most frequently right now on Facebook. And they're both PPC methods.
One is a long story post where we engage our audience with a really long written story, maybe 1,000 to 3,000 words. And the other thing is a video ad where maybe you have a one or two minute video. It could be longer, but typically shorter the better. And the video.
Shares a bit of your story and a call to action. Both. The objective is really to get a lead, get them to do something at the end of the post or the end of the video. Okay.
And so let's go ahead and choose one or the other to start with and we'll go from there. So would you like to start with the long story or the video? Yeah, let's do long story. They're my favorite because they seem to get the most shares and the most love and when you get people sharing your ad.
It creates what Dave calls viral sustainability and that's why we're able to sign up so many people and get so many leads. We create value driven content that people just love to share and so it makes our lead costs very inexpensive. Do you want me to log into my Facebook, share my screen and just get right into it? Because I'd like to go into one specific ad.
And so again, we're doing modeling. We want to take you into one specific context. And actually, I'd like to start before you actually go into the ad. Because one of the things.
I know about about doing anything that there's there are attitudes that are attached to it and their belief sets that are attached to it. So why don't you identify one ad that you don't mind talking about and you can pull up your screen anytime and and we can go from there. Awesome. Let me go ahead and do that.
Just give me a second. Screen. And what I'm going to do and some things you should know you can't do a paid ad off of a profile right now. I'm in my profile.
So I'm just going to log into my. Fan page. If you don't have a fan page, you can create one as long as you already have a profile. If you don't even own a profile, you can create one and then create your fan page.
I have a few different ones. I'm going to go to my most active one that I'm working in. Sure. Let's see here.
I'm going to go ahead and go to the fan page. Here we go. And did you say you. Wanted me to identify an attitude or can you let's go let's go there from and I'll help you with that, but just identify one ad that you can remember placing so that we have a really clear memory around this this example of this long story post.
Yeah, that'll be a recent one. I'm just going to scroll down. I'm going to give you the one getting the best results. Sure.
It's the one on the law of attraction, which is this one right here. I wrote and posted back on November 8 2015. Do you want me to open it up and kind of start reading it or it could take. Actually, before that, we want to we want to associate you.
And that means for for those of you don't have a lot of NLP experience, we want to put him right into the situation where he's about ready to place the ad. So he hasn't even placed the ad yet. It's just where maybe the moment like when you identify that you needed to place an ad or that it was time to place an ad. And so just mentally step back into that experience.
And reconnect with where where you were. When you placed that ad. Yeah, the first thing I was thinking before placing an ad, you got to think about who you're speaking to in Facebook terms, we call it your target audience, your target audience. So in this case, you're about ready to place an ad and you want to identify your your target audience.
Put yourself right there and just ask yourself, you know, who's the target audience for this ad and how did you come to that? What was your goal? What was your goal in real in regards to the target audience? This particular niche, which is law of attraction I started targeting back in 2012 or 2013.
Whenever I began doing Facebook ads, I started thinking, what was a big shift in my life? And when I asked that question, immediately, the movie The Secret came to my mind, because for me, it opened up Pandora's box on what's possible. So I wanted to teach I wanted to connect with people who can relate to that who are researching the secret. Maybe.
maybe just came across Rhonda Byrne, or anyone related to the secret, Bob Proctor, Joe Vitale, basically anyone in the personal development niche, because law of attraction is so relevant to so many things. So I just started thinking, who can I really resonate with if I shared my story? And just being honest, I picked this niche years ago, and I still just write lots of stories about it, because it really connects with people. And I just try to speak their language in the ad.
So if someone is researching the law of attraction, and they read my story, they know I'm not BSing. I actually, you know, am firmly into this stuff. And that's why I feel like I can guide them and offer a solution to their problem. So another thing I start thinking about is what's the biggest problem that they're experiencing right now for that keyword?
Because every ad should only be targeting one keyword or like one specific interest. And so I started my ad, and I started with my keyword, the law of attraction shifted my entire life. The reason I say that is because you only have so much time to really capture their attention in the beginning. But because I know who I'm targeting, people related to the secret, I know it's going to grab their attention.
And so that's really, really important when doing an ad. So a couple of things, and then I want you to come back and talk a little bit, you know, specifically about this ad and how you got there. So you identified this target market a long time ago. This is one that you've been marketing to for some time.
And the question that you asked, I think was a really important one. Because remember, in modeling, we're not talking about copying. That's what most people think about when they think about modeling. And there is some value to just copying somebody as long as you're not stealing their stuff.
I don't believe in that. That's not cool, right? But in modeling, we really want to get down to what's the difference that makes a difference. The question that he asked himself with is, who can I resonate with?
That was the question that he asked. So in terms of picking a target audience, if I don't resonate, and I do, but if I don't resonate with the law of attraction marketplace, then I wouldn't want to go there because people's BS sniffers would sniff me out now, right? And is that what I'm hearing you say? Absolutely.
So that's really important. You know, typically, you're speaking to yourself, if you're your perfect, like avatar, it's perfect. But also one more thing to consider, Will, would that niche be a good fit for our offer? Right.
So for example, if I'm into like, comic books, maybe Comic Con people are not the right fit for my business. Maybe they are, I don't know, because I'm the hippie Jedi. So that was probably a bad example. But if I was into stamp collecting, or something of this nature, or like coupon savings, that's probably not the niche I want to go after, because they're people probably at a low spectrum on like the financial freedom path, or maybe don't have the right mindset yet, because they're thinking about saving 20 cents or 30 cents.
Whereas with law of attraction, not only do I resonate with the audience, but they're people who tend to read, who are interested in knowledge, which is all about what our business is about. So I know that target market could be a possible good fit for my business. So I'm thinking about saving 20 cents or 30 cents, whereas with law of attraction, maybe I'm not the right fit for the offer, not saying everyone is, but it tends to work really well. And I think that's an important question.
Is that target market a good fit? I don't want to attract, you know, always broke people. If I targeted people who own Rolexes, probably a good fit, people who have like $5,000 to join a business and get all in. So just something to consider.
Sure, sure. Would they be a good fit for the offer that I have? So let's back up. So with this ad specifically, it's a good fit for the offer that I have.
So I'm thinking about saving 20 cents or 30 cents You had already identified the target niche years ago, and you probably write periodically about it, or maybe even often about it. But this is where I want you to actually step into the context. And I'm not sure that we've quite got you there yet. And so I just want to verify at least.
There you are, you're about ready to place this ad. And how do you know it's time to place this ad? Like what triggers it in your mind? What's going on in your business?
Yeah, so I wrote this story like late night one night, Kuan Yin was sleeping, it was like 1am. And I'm like, I'm not going to go to sleep until I finish the story. And unlike my wife, Dee, she's an incredible writer, and she can write something amazing in 10 minutes. It takes me hours.
I'm not as gifted, it just takes me a lot longer to tap in and find my quiet space and download and feel inspired to write, you know, from the heart, or from the core. So it took me like three or four hours, I went to bed at like 5am. But I had a good story. And I'll write it once, then I'll rewrite it again.
And you know, maybe take out insignificant parts of the story. But I wrote it, it took me a few hours to write it. And then so I didn't plan on like, I wasn't in my account, writing it to post it, that would feel rushed. I like open up a notepad on on my computer, and take the time to write something good, realizing the content is everything.
You know, it's really important to have good content. So I really, and I have like, certain parts of stories, you know, in the very beginning, you have to really hook them in. So that's really important. In the very beginning, you know, there's parts of the story where I have to show I'm a human being and that I wasn't always successful.
So I talk a lot about my struggles, I had to learn how to overcome, then I give them tips, like my tips that transformed everything to really get them to pay attention. So they feel they got a lot of value out of it. Tip one, find the right mentor. I'm using hypnotic stories.
I'm using the storytelling that we learn in the top producer formula, and in Matt, mass influence formula, because I'm basically pre framing them for me to be their mentor without telling them that, you know what I mean? Tip two was like the right energy. Well, hang on, I want to back you up. We're going to come back to this here in a minute.
But I want to I want to rewind you a little bit because I'm hearing first off, I'm hearing major gold. So I just want to thank you for sharing this. This is stuff that people pay a lot of money to get from you. I just want to recognize that.
And also from the community, if we can all just say thank you, Justin. In fact, when you watch after you watch this video, like, go find one of his posts and give him some love. Seriously, this is like, this is like behind the curtains kind of stuff, you know. So So thank you.
But I want to go back to here you are. And you said it's 1am. And you decided to write it after your daughter went to bed. But there's something else there.
And that is what triggered the decision to place an ad. And I don't want to put words in your mouth. So I'm gonna be careful about how I do this. But some people might place an ad because they have a kind of a mental clock that they place ads on.
Some people might look at their lead flow. Some people might have an internal sense. Some people might have a really specific strategy. But even before you started writing at 1am, what let you know that it was time to write an ad?
I wanted more leads. And one good story can get you hundreds of leads a day. And it was at that time where maybe the time was right. And I was like, I'm going to do this.
I'm going to do this. I'm going to do this. I'm going to do this. I'm going to do this.
I'm going to do this. I'm going to do this. And my last ad I wrote was several months ago. And I wanted something fresh and new that my audience has never seen before.
So that's what triggered it. You know, I wanted to maybe at the time I was like down to 30 or 50 leads a day because like I was running an ad for a while and focus on other things. And I said, let me regroup, get back to the basics, get back to 200, 300 leads a day. And I kind of had that objective when I was writing the story.
I wanted to inspire so many people with my content that they feel guilty not to share it with their friends and family and to opt in for more information because it's so value driven. You can tell my purpose is to really uplift people. I think if you read this and it might strike an emotional chord because when I was downloading the information, I was very in an emotional state because I was inspired to write it and get the information out. Yeah.
So I've heard you say a few things and I just want to, I want to touch on them because again, modeling is about finding the difference that makes a difference. It's also looking for the structure of things. If I learn how, what Einstein's strategy is, well, I'm not going to be Einstein, but I can use Einstein's strategy for creativity within my own natural creativity set, right? If that makes any sense.
So a couple of things you, you knew it was time to write an ad because your lead flow had dropped lower than it had been maybe because your old ad hadn't been placed for a few months. Maybe that was their ad fatigue going on or, um, if you're running a lot of traffic to an ad, it, uh, you may have to find new interest or different audience to put it in front of, especially if you're doing a lot of traffic, you can run through it kind of fast. So it all depends. I just know lead flow wasn't where I like it to be.
If I'm ever below a hundred leads a day, it's like, you know, I need to get serious and figure out what's going wrong and get some, uh, active ad out there. So that's kind of like what I did. I'm like, I want, I think I got back from an event. It was two events, I was very inspired after leadership day, uh, after the main event.
And I'm like, I need to get back to what I was doing because I was kind of slacking and I wasn't placing ads for my business for a while. I was focusing on my own product, you know, selling a PPC course or something like that. So I'm like, I need to get back and focus on the business because I saw the direction we were going. I learned about the unilines and I just got inspired to really run traffic, uh, through our offer, uh, within empower.
So I heard a couple of, a couple of things. So one is your lead flow is below where it usually was. And then you, you went to an event and you got inspired and, and, uh, and then you, you went ahead and the, the inspiration kind of triggered this experience where you went to go inspire other people. So let me ask you about this, this, uh, feeling inspired and I, and to do this, what I want you to do is just mentally check against maybe the last three ads that you've done.
Yeah. Yeah. That you've, um, that you've written. How important is the state of feeling inspired to writing, to writing your ads, check it against three or four examples and tell me if it's present in all none or just this one, uh, present in all content, my wife or I create on the internet.
So from a value standpoint, uh, or from a state, this is really a state and a value standpoint. One of the things that's critical to Justin's strategy is that I'm guessing if you don't feel inspiration, I want, and don't, don't let me put words in your mouth. I want you to check this against your own experience. If you're not feeling inspired, if you don't feel like you're really downloading the information that you can't uplift people, will, will you place an ad if you write it and you're like, Oh, this is, you know, um, this is not inspiring content or I haven't downloaded this.
Personally, I have writer's block when I'm not inspired. Um, you, you may look at me on stage or listen to me talk and I can tap into a zone and, but I have, I have a lot of inspiration. I have a lot of inspiration. I have a lot of inspiration.
I have to become inspired. I'm a human being. At the end of the day, I wake up and I'm like in a different space and I have to like listen to something empowering or tap in somehow doing one of my success rituals. Um, that's really important for me.
Uh, things don't just naturally good content doesn't just naturally come to me unless I am in the right state. And I think that's why your NLP training is so key to me because I realized I can control what state I am in. I can change and shift my, my mental state within like 10 seconds if I really want. But if I didn't know that, I would just say I'm not talented and I'm not a good writer.
I'm never inspired. I have writer's block, you know, but that's not the case. That's not the case. So let's talk about this for a minute with this specific ad.
You were already inspired because you had been to an event and you were kind of in the after you were in the afterglow. Um, but you talked about success ritual. So I want to go back into this one. Yeah.
You talked about the, the event, which was a key part of your success ritual for this particular download that you got. But, um, uh, was there anything else that you did before 1am to prepare your mindset to write or were you already there and just needed to sit down and take the time? I think remembering that it's been a few months, but I, I think I put my daughter to sleep at nine o'clock and then I woke up at around 12 or one o'clock. Um, changed my diaper and put her back to sleep with a bottle.
And then I had time, free time to actually, you know, I, when I write, I like a quiet environment. I, it's hard for me to write if my daughter's like up and about running around, pulling my finger. She's only two. She don't talk much.
So she just like kind of grabs me to do something. So I kind of just need space. Uh, and so I was probably like in my room or in a room in a, in the here and just find a quiet space where I can kind of, you know, uh, pour my heart into an inspiring, uh, you know, story. Yeah.
And so if you think about again, three or four of the last ads that you've, that you've written, how important is that quiet time in that space? For me, all my stories, cause I'm spending money advertising that stuff. So I'm going to make sure it's my best content that I have. And my best content is always going to come from a quiet space where I'm downloading inspiration.
And I know I'm downloading when like what's coming to me, I get tears, um, because I always reach my core or like my why, you know what I mean? And I know when I feel that when I'm thinking it or writing it, I know other people are going to feel that emotion when they're reading it the same way. I can feel people's emotion. When I, read their stories uh because that was one of the intentions with creating the ad was to really inspire people to take action and do something about it you know to change their life yeah and you you come back to this this uh this idea about inspiration and so quiet time for you is and having space is really really critical to making to making this work okay so we've got a state and the state is a state of feeling inspired now when you feel inspired where do you feel that you know where do you feel that in your body you feel that is it head well you mentioned two words you mentioned inspired and you mentioned the word silent right or silence i think that's what i got anyway so um are those two different states or are they the same state it's a good question um it could be one in the same but not always um necessarily uh for example um i could be reading what i wrote so far and just reading my own words re-inspires me to keep going in the story um so that would be like one example okay so it so in being inspired and being silent are two different things are both critical or do you find that you lean on more more on one or more on the other um i could be inspired with a lot of noise so i don't need silence to be inspired but i tend as a writer need silence to get like something really good uh out whereas my wife she can write or be like she can do things with a bunch of distractions around her and do a dang good job at it but my body or whatever i just don't function that way so um being silent um helps me a lot i know personally um but i guess if i was listening to something really empowering like you what would it be um i don't know i don't know i don't know or a tony robbins or david wood i can probably write and feel inspired as well but because it's focused around my story when i'm silent it's easier for me to remember parts of my past that i can use as like a trigger point or something pivotal uh to share with people that may be something i don't normally share but it just makes the right sense to share that you know to you know make a point maybe in my story sure and so um now i'm going to ask you a general question which isn't true modeling but i just want i want you to check against three or four different ads that you've had in general what are your personal rituals for creating um give me like four quick experiences right so for example you know four ads ago i did this to create inspiration i did this to create silence so kind of give me a an overview of some of the things you've done recently to create both inspiration and silence so that you can write well um i do yoga um i do qigong i also started going to tai chi actively again at the end of last year these practices all quiet the mind and help my energy flow and be in a state of solitude you know um thoughtlessness um not always i start my yoga session i got all sorts of stuff in my mind or when i start to meditate but typically by the end of the session maybe 30 minutes or an hour later i'm going to start my yoga session and i'm going to start my meditation and i'm going to start my yoga session and i'm going to start my meditation zenned out you know and that's like when i'm in my peak state as far as creating content or inspiring somebody so if you think about the last four times you produce content for example um name the ritual like specific rituals so like or give me three ads say this ad i did qigong this ad i meditated this ad i did this and tell me about how long you did each ritual just off the top of your head cool and i want to be completely authentic as well it's not like right before i write it i'll have to do it it's just the fact of doing it sometime in the day a lot easier to tap in so it's not always right before it's kind of like just doing it and getting it out of the way because when i don't do it i feel out of balance or out of alignment uh personally um so i don't know specifically like what technique i did or what kind of meditation but i can just say that that some sort of form of activity of quieting the mind breathing consciously you know what i mean uh does something special to me where i can just be more in tune with you know who i truly am and my emotions so your overall goal is to get in tune with who you are and your emotions precisely hang on and this is a huge theme so far we haven't even gotten deep into the modeling process with him yet but more important than what the specific words he's writing in his ad and i'm sure there is a structure there that he's going to go through here in a little bit but but more important than that if if justin was out of alignment and he wasn't writing from his true self and this download of inspiration his ads wouldn't have the same effect and that's why i highly suspect that somebody else could even steal his stuff and they wouldn't have the same impact it's so funny i've seen that in the past like word for word they'll like even take my picture and everything but they don't get those they definitely don't get the same results because there's more to it in this energetic field you know i totally believe that and also like the state like i think i feel like your state is really really important when you're doing something if i'm not in the right state even if i think the content is good it typically just doesn't doesn't work i just don't you know get the same results for whatever reason mystically i can't explain it doesn't make a lot of sense to a lot of people but it's just a reality yeah and this is especially your code already right so i think this is before i was writing a blog and two i think i wrote a lot of them online and i think one of the things is that is you know you know you texture your position was a lot bigger right chronologically i mean my face really things that i do you know i do show up at i put it on my google account i'm a little hard to describe with my phone i'm always on facebook and i like to post things online and um you don't see this in outdoorsnğim in this property i think it's纰 And so we can immediately apply that.
And I may end up writing very, very different content than Justin. And yet it may have with my audience, it may have a very, very similar effect. It's interesting. I've hired copywriters before for my hypnosis business.
And I will consistently, if I get a copywriter that doesn't quite nail it, and my audience will respond like, this doesn't feel genuine. This doesn't feel authentic. And that's not to say that you can't hire a copywriter, but it goes to say that there's more than just a technical skill there. People have a pretty strong BS sniffer for heart, heart and alignment.
And I'm hearing that big time from you. So let's go back to this ad. And if you want to pull up the ad, and we're going to move in and out of it, because we didn't, Justin and I didn't realize that you guys couldn't see us while we were talking. And so we're just kind of staring at the screen here.
But go ahead and pull that ad back up for a little bit. Cool. And then I want to know, like, as you're sitting down, it's one in the morning, you haven't really written anything yet. We know that you're one of your big goals.
It's inspiration. And one of your big goals is, you know, to really download. Those are two themes that keep on coming up. But what other goals did you have with this particular ad?
Again, I know we're going back three months, but put yourself right there and just notice what else were your, what other goals did you have? Right on. November 8th. And crazy enough, Will, I joined the company November 8th of 2011.
And so symbolic, and I didn't even realize this before, but symbolically, that means a lot. And crazy enough, this ad has been one of my most successful ads since November when I placed the ad. And it still works extremely well. So I believe when I created this, something crazy, I'm like, I want to generate 500 leads a day.
I may, I don't know the exact number I said, but I said something like aiming really high. You know what I mean? Because when I do something, I tend to create an. Objective, like why I'm doing it.
So I wanted to inspire people to take action and to generate 500 leads a day for my business. That was what I put out there with writing. So, so we got two goals. One was you wanted, well, I've got four.
You wanted to inspire. You wanted to download the information. You wanted to generate a really high number of leads, right? 500 leads a day or something like that.
And then you want to do, you wanted to help people take action. What, what other goals did you have? Big picture. Why is, I can't think of anything else.
Okay. Just go quiet for a minute and do whatever you got to do to just quiet the mind. Step right back into it. I'm not saying there's another goal, but I want to make sure that there's nothing, that there's not anything else.
So just step into it. Just ask yourself what other goals might've been present. Just genuinely help them regardless if they click the link or not feel like they got so much value out of it. How can I genuinely help, help them, them being the person reading the ad.
Yep. The ones going through the struggle, because I know what struggle they're going through. Cause I know my audience and I've gone through the struggle. So inspiring them to, or basically inspiring them to overcome their struggle by hearing my story, which is a part of inspiring them.
Part of inspiring them is helping them overcome. Yep. All right. Okay.
Just go quiet for a minute and just notice, is there any other goal that's present? This is the G. And geo for goals. I mentioned it earlier a bit, but I want people to share it.
That was another objective. I wanted people to share it and I wanted people to private message me. And at the end of the ad, you'll see what I did to help facilitate that. Those, uh, things I wanted.
I basically wanted them to reach out to me and personally connect with me by sending me a private message. Cause I think in this particular ad. I didn't have, uh, a lead capture page. This was the first time I tried something totally new.
I would, I just wanted them to comment, private message me and share this. So those were like my three core objections for action. The type of action I wanted them to take on this ad, you know? Yeah.
So let me, I'm just grabbing, I'm just writing this down here. So on this ad, you wanted them to, you wanted to comment. You wanted them to share and then private message. Correct.
Now I think it's significant. I want to ask you, I don't want to put words in your mouth again. I want you just to kind of filter through your own experience. You didn't mention the word like, like you didn't, that didn't even like pop into your awareness.
Um, as you were mentioning your three objectives for action. So you don't care if somebody likes your post or not so much. I almost feel like it's automatic if they, you know, if they read it and they like it, you'll just hit like. Because we're so programmed to do that.
So I didn't want to like make four steps. I felt like it's a little overwhelming. So I just kept it at three. The things I felt most important because I feel like if they're going to comment more than likely they're going to like, and the evidence is here, uh, 3,750 likes, um, 682 comments over a thousand shares.
So I don't find likes being difficult. So that's why I didn't mention it. It's just like people. Just do it anyways.
They're just doing it anyway. So the, the like is not that critical a piece in, in, in your evaluation. You're looking for comments, shares, private messages. Yeah.
And basically engagement, engagement, and you're at, you're measuring engagement as being commenting, sharing private messaging. Yeah. He's nodding his head. Yes.
So, um, the, so just go silent again, cause this is valuable. We just got a couple of really important things. Just drop down into it. There you are.
You're getting ready to write this. Add, are there any other goals that are, that are present as you're getting ready to write the ad? No, no. Okay.
And we're going to take that as no, cause he blanked out twice and then he went typically what I'm modeling. I want to see, usually people say, nope, that's it. And then we have them get quiet, kind of tune in. And if you, you can't see him, but if you didn't see him, you'd see him kind of close his eyes, get centered.
People don't have to do that, but they need to go inside and kind of do a double check. Notice that we got a couple of extra, uh, major nuggets, I think. Uh, along the way. So we've got some things about how he's, how he's measuring and, and really what he's aiming to do.
And, and one of the things that's impressed me as I've watched other leaders, not only in empower network, but out is that they consistently always have their, their objective in mind before they do anything. They're not just, Justin is not just putting up a comment because people aren't liking his stuff, you know, or putting up a, uh, an ad because people aren't liking his stuff or that he's not getting some sort of social validation. He's putting it up because he wants leads. And he wants people to take action and he wants to generate something very, very specific in his business.
So he's got something in mind, um, right away. So we're going to move into the evidence part of this before we even get into the structure of the ad. So what we're going to do is we're going to take these, um, one by one, and I'm just going to make a little note here. I'm on five pages of notes at home.
If you're watching this, um, I think there's at least five pages worth of content just on, on what we've gotten so far, hugely important stuff. But, um, if we go into evidence. Um, what we want to do is we want to take each, each goal one by one. And we want to ask, what's the evidence?
How do you know that you've done that? So let me ask you this. How do you know that you've inspired somebody, which you told me means that you've helped them overcome the struggle? Um, 682 comments, probably 98% of them, uh, had a breakthrough, um, a shift.
Uh, they felt inspired and they'll be very upfront and telling you, you inspired me, uh, blah, blah, blah. So I know directly from their response. Yeah. So your evidence is really just seeing the response in the, in the comments.
Yeah. Okay, cool. And, um, and then what about downloading? Well, first I should ask, is there anything else that lets you know that you've inspired people or is it just mainly the comments?
Um, just the, the overall results, uh, from it, like how many people are really messaging me? Um, how many likes did we get? You know, we, like we mentioned 37%. How many shares for someone to like share an ad?
Well, number one, most people probably don't even realize it's an ad, uh, cause it's totally outside the box different than like most everyone advertising on Facebook. Um, so the fact that they're sharing my ad and with their friends and family and loved ones, um, is a great indicator that they're inspired because like I tend to not share anything if I'm not inspired. Maybe. I have to be inspired or it has to be really cool and then I'll share something.
So I think they are sharing it because, um, whatever I downloaded is really hitting or touching their heart or their soul. Sure. It's really touching him in some way. Cool.
This is great stuff, man. I just got to say, appreciate it again. Um, let, let's dive in now with what about, um, downloading, like what is your evidence that you have downloaded something so that you may. And this might be more of like, there you, and think about this ad specifically, there you are, you're typing, or maybe before you're typing, like, how do you know that you've downloaded and it's like, inspired content?
It's a good question. It just feels like it is. I'm very kinesthetic, personally. So I just kind of know when I am because I tend to get emotional.
And when I download, I want to speak truth, because what I've recognized personally, when I strike an emotional chord, it's because something truthful is being shared that is so profound. So when I am downloading, and I strike an emotional chord, I'm like, people need to hear this. That's like my evidence. I'm like, I wouldn't be feeling like this right now if it wasn't, you know, to share with them.
It's other people. Right. So if you, and let's switch back over, let's switch off the ad for a second so that people can see us. I just thought about that just now here.
But give me a second. And even if you can't see us, I'm telling you, this stuff is, this is brilliant, brilliant material, Justin. But people, you get a feeling. Let's go back to this feeling piece of it.
And I wanted people to be able to see us, especially for that part of it. Describe what that feeling is. Describe what that feeling is. Describe what that feeling is.
Describe what that feeling is like. Because, and the reason I'm asking is that as a human being, one of the things that I notice with clients is I notice that there's a great pattern in the way that people behave. It doesn't mean that Justin feels exactly the same thing, but he's going to describe things in a way that I can relate to with my own neurology. So just do this as you're listening, kind of step into your own neurology and just notice what does your neurology feel like?
What does your body feel like as you, as he describes how he feels when he feels inspired? So, and think about this ad in particular, if you can remember, but if you can't grab a hold of this one, grab a hold of another one. Where you knew you were inspired and you can actually remember the event and describe what it is that your, your body is, is sensing. Do you want me to, or are you asking them to?
No, I'm asking you because this is, I feel like a yearning to get the information out. You know what I mean? Sometimes it feels like excitement, like just internally excited there. Sometimes my chakras will be totally.
Like open, like my third eye will just be beaming and I'm like, you know, tapped into my higher consciousness. That's a totally clear indicator. Okay. I want you to pause for a minute and I want you to go specific with me.
Um, so you, you did something and I don't know which ad you were thinking about when you did it, but you did a gesture like this and you said a yearning. I want you to put your hands back up here again. Okay. Thank you.
Thank you. Thank you. Just kind of connect with whatever's there. What's here.
That's your name. What is that sensation? Like it's the feeling of freedom that we're blessed to experience. And I feel it's a feeling and a reality that all human beings, most all except ones, maybe kids in Africa don't even have own drinking water.
And you know, that's fortunate circumstances, but for the majority of us, especially if you have the internet and you're watching this, you know what I mean? I feel like it's my responsibility to share what I know because anybody can have this with the right information, but not everyone's willing to listen. Right? So it's my bigger purpose to express myself through that story in a way.
I've been in education so I can say, you know, that when you're in a situation like that, you really focus on the knowledge of what's actually happening when you get the information from the core of your mind, because it doesn't pay attention to that unusual, you know, emotion of what the hiddenness is that I feel, there are nesse images on consumers on where they care. But that's what it's all about. It was like you touched into something here. It was like a freedom coming out.
What was the sensation like? And let me give you some examples. Heat, pressure, tingling, a light feeling. What is that as you're experiencing that freedom that's kind of moving out from you?
What is that like if you were to bring it into a sensory-based experience? I'm not as visual as a lot of visual people. Um, it's just a feeling that over overwhelms me in a positive way that just connects me to my core, my why, my purpose, my vision, what I stand for, what I represent. All these things come to mind, but through the form of a feeling.
Yeah. And again, the description of the feeling, I know I'm pressing on this a little bit and just stay connected to it. Okay. If my question takes you out of it, let me know, but just stay connected to that feeling.
You're connected to your. Your core, you're connected to your why. Is it light? Is it heat?
Is it tingly? Is it movement? Vibration. It's like a vibration.
Vibration. Yeah. It's like a vibration feeling. And so you get this vibration and, and does the vibration have a direction?
Does it go one way or the other? Does it move in? Does it move out? Does it move up?
Does it move down? I would describe it as just pulsating. Like right now talking about it. My third eye is just pulsing.
And if I was to create the energy I feel, it's just like, I can feel it in my heart. I can feel it anywhere I lay focus in, uh, on my body, but I just feel my energy centers like pulsating. Yeah. And you feel it here and you mentioned here and you were gesturing down here.
So do you mainly feel it in your head and your heart? I also feel, feel it like in my palms and my feet. I feel it throughout my body. But for some reason, I don't feel it.
For some reason, my third eye and my heart chakra typically tend to stand out like they're the most active. Yeah. And so for those that aren't familiar with the chakra system, we're talking like middle of the forehead and down here in the, in the heart area, and there's this like kind of feeling. And when you feel that, you know, that you're just, you know, that you're, um, you've got that yearning and that you're really downloading.
Yeah. Yes. And, and I suspect. I suspect highly just because of the way that I know that other people work, that you're the feeling that you feel this is for the audience, maybe a little bit different, but notice that whether it's a conscious or unconscious mechanism, he's got something in place that lets him know when he's actually connected to his deeper purpose.
And did you hear the kind of mission language that came out for Justin placing an ad isn't just placing an ad, placing an ad has a lot to do with really a responsibility and with sharing and connecting. I feel like that's kind of the thing that we have to get started with today. And that's, and I think that's a question that we really need to be going through, not just as I was saying earlier, just because it's such a crazy thought coming to my mind when I'm like, I'm actually not going to be able to do this. I'm going to be able to these things, but I'm going to have to, I'm not going to be able to do them.
I need to get up my arms and do this. And he was like, I, I'm not supposed to be doing this. And I'm like, okay, well I'm just going to do this. And he was like, I'm not going to do this.
And that's, that's, that's kind of the reason it's happening with that. And that's a, that, that kind of energy is super attractive. Now, you might describe it in your own words. You might have a different way of saying it.
But the thing that I've observed is that people, and Justin, you tell me if you feel different here, but people really aren't buying the product or service so much as they're buying this feeling that they get. And when we communicate, we are sharing ultimately the feeling or the state that we're in. And that's one of the reasons why I spend as much time on state. So if somebody's taking a video, it's like that video captures the emotions, the thoughts, the energy that you're having right then.
And then if it gets shared a thousand times, you're sharing toxicity or you're sharing inspiration or irritation or whatever it is that's on your heart or mind. And this is powerful. This is powerful stuff, man. This is super, super powerful stuff.
Anything you want to add to that? Or am I off in any way? Because you're the expert on traffic. I don't want to put words in.
No, you're spot on. And I think most people just want to see how do I place an ad? Like the ad placing like a seven-year-old can do. I can guarantee you if you don't have good content and you're not like we learn storytelling, hypnotic storytelling within Empower Network, just by listening to Dave, you'll become a master at hypnotism.

And obviously I share that because I'm wanting them to take action and click on the link because of the, you know, the story provided a lot of value. And so that's the general concept.
I'm going to show you maybe a couple other things here that work really well. This one had 545 shares. This one I think I targeted like Tony Robbins. I quote him in the very beginning because again, I want to speak their language.
And so I opened this one up. And so this is a very direct and my very direct posts tend to do very well because I don't normally speak like this, but it's like I want to get their attention. So I'm willing to do something outside the box. I mentioned you either master money or on some level money masters you.
I couldn't agree more with Tony. And I didn't want to be the one saying that because maybe I'd offend somebody, but it's like Tony Robbins said that. Right. And all of a sudden I have all this like credibility saying it, you know, so a little, you know.
So I couldn't agree with him. I couldn't agree with him. I couldn't agree with him. more with Tony Robbins on this because most people are without a doubt slaves to money just like I used to be while most people care not to admit it it is a sad reality then I go on to talk about it's not all about the money because I know what they're thinking spiritual people are like it's not all about the money you know what I mean and so I'm speaking their language yes of course however all money is really is is energy and once you understand the flow of energy it can flow easily and effortlessly in your life just like it does in mine and I have an image of authority you know with a microphone here and I don't want to take too much time reading the story because again you can go to my fan page at any time and read this on your own dime I know we have a very concise schedule here but in a nutshell 545 shares right can you show us your call to action though yeah totally we're talking about how that relates to the the evidence basically is how do I know that this is working right so let's look at the action so this one had a call to action of this had the three-step one I did three ads all work very successfully after I did it the first time with that one ad I did it again and I did it again different story same exact process different photo of course and so I think the same exact call to action complete the three steps below if you're interested in the special opportunity step one comment I want to be personally mentored below so I did this to see if they actually would follow directions and a lot of them did and I'll show you the evidence in a moment step to send me a private message telling me you want more info and step three share this message with others if it resonated with you and then if you look here well first of all let's look at the comments and see how many people said like what I told them to say here Thank You Justin I love the way you think great advice very well said I want to be personally mentored.
I agree with everything in this article. This is better than I can ever have put it. Stay focused, my man. I would like to be personally mentored.
Love and light. I am blessed to be personally mentored. That's somebody already working with me. I am love.
This person says I am my own mentor. So they weren't necessarily interested. This person says I want to be personally mentored. Hi, Jedi.
I want to be personally mentored. I want to be personally mentored. I want to be personally mentored. I would love to know more.
Hey, how do you make money? Are you a motivational speaker? I want to be. Curiosity works.
See, most people say too much about what they're promoting. And there's like people have no interest. I create the curiosity. And then people have to click on the link or message me to find out more information.
I think that's a big takeaway. I want to be personally mentored. This is perfect. I could use all the positive help I can get.
I would love to be personally mentored. This sounds great. If you basically actually take the time to read the comments, like a healthy percentage. Of them like hundreds of them want to be personally mentored just by reading a story from a complete stranger because I'm speaking their language and I took the time to open up share vulnerabilities.
If you read my story, you should cry. If not, maybe maybe like I don't know what's up. But if you read my story, you should feel the emotion I was feeling when I was writing it because that was my intention. And I know these people did.
Hence, why they're leaving such love. You know, loving words. You know what I mean? I want to be personally mentored.
I want to be personally mentored. I want to be personally mentored shooting you a PM so that my friend will. That's how I know they're following directions and I'm getting the evidence because they're actually messaging me and commenting and sharing. And this particular post had five hundred and forty five shares, almost fifteen hundred likes.
So one third of the people who are liking it are sharing it and two hundred and forty four comments. So for me, that's that's a big. Success there from a story. Yeah, that's huge.
A third of a third of the likes shared it. And let me see if I click on it, I may get more data. I just I forget how to get the data from here. There's like a simple way.
Maybe I'll click on the time. Try this. My mind is just blank, but you can click on something and see the data of like, you know, all the stats. But like I said, I'm only concerned with like how many leads am I getting?
And for this ad, I consider the lead someone actually messaging me because here's how I look at it. If someone likes your post comments it or send you a private message or shares your stuff and write this down, I think there's a big takeaway. It gives you digital permission to contact them. Now I'm not contacting them because I have so many people coming in.
I don't have to. But if you're doing ten dollars a day, you know, and maybe only getting five or ten leads a day, but you're getting a bunch of likes, that's digital permission to reach out to them. Just always consider Facebook don't want you contacting people you're not really friends with. So maybe limit it to maybe ten a day or something like that.
That gives you the ability to reach out to people and say, hey, thank you so much for liking my post. I would love to connect with you and maybe ask them a question about themselves. You know, what do you currently do for a living? Kind of open up the door.
You know what I mean? Because if you're not generating a ton of leads, I would totally be doing that, but I just don't have to because I'm scaling it and kind of a different model. But if I was just getting started, my resources were really tight. I had limited funds.
Anyone who likes my stuff, I have 1490 people here. I can like reach out to maybe ten a day or something like that. And there's so many people, right? So if someone likes shares comments, your stuff or messages you, you have digital permission to reach out to them and it doesn't have to be awkward because they liked your content.
You know what I mean? So that's another big take. Yeah, that's, that's amazing. And, and I, and I think it's important to note, you're not, you're not reaching out to them and like spamming them.
You're just reaching out and trying to connect with them. Yeah. Genuinely helping them. I'm not trying to sell them.
It's like they have a problem. I'll present a solution and if they're not open minded to it, it's like move on to the next one. I'm just trying to find the right people. Not everybody, you know?
Yeah. I'll be honest. Most people though, they say they want to be mentored, you know, they don't really, uh, cause they don't follow the directions. You give them, you know, they just want to say it because it's easy to say it.
So I'll just be honest. If everyone signed up who said that, like I'd have like thousands of signups, there'd be nobody left on the planet. You like, right, right. We'd have everyone in our downline right now.
Yeah, right, right. So, um, but, but this is important. I mean, and as a coach, I can speak to this because this is really, really important. And this, this is a little off topic.
This is probably later on for sales, but I think it's also super important to understand real quick. You keep that thought. I'm going to, I'm going to run to the bathroom cause I drank this whole thing of water and I'll be right back. Come back and we'll, we'll dive back into your content here.
Um, but one of the things as a coach that I've, I've learned is that you cannot, you can either attack somebody or you can draw them into you. And it's a much more powerful experience to draw them into you. And so one of the things that I'll see new coaches do all the time is they'll learn a new NLP technique. For example, maybe I'll give you a bad example that I did early on here in a minute, but they'll, they'll, they'll, they'll grab ahold of a technique that works.
They know they have something of great value. They're really excited about it. And then they'll go start attacking people with it. And that energy just puts people off.
Um, and so one of the things that new coaches need to learn how to do is they need to learn how to draw people into them by just kind of teasing them a little bit and then giving them the opportunity to engage in a conversation. So for example, this is a bad example of how to do this. And then, and then I'll come back around and this really has to do with having people qualify for your time. Um, and qualify as basically raising their hand to say, Hey, this is important.
The information that you've got for me, I want more. So my neighbor, um, my neighbor was the unfortunate recipient to this. And I, I apologize to her. I've apologized to her sense, but I learned this awesome NLP technique to like solve phobias or fears and like just minutes.
And I was blown away by this amazing, by this amazing technique. And so I get out of my NLP training course and like I started attacking people that would say that they were afraid of me, that they were afraid of something. Right. So they would, they would say like, Oh, I think what she said was, I'm afraid of snakes.
She was so afraid of snakes that like, um, if she saw a snake on TV, she would like curl up in the fetal position. And so without thinking if she wanted what I had without thinking if, you know, there was, was there any rapport in this situation? I was just like, I can totally fix that, you know, make a movie up on the wall. And she's like, what are you doing to me?
And like, like she immediately started to like, you know, just like move away from me. Like, I don't want this. I'm crazy thing. I don't want this.
And I was like, I can help you cure your phobia. And she's like, which by the way, I don't, isn't a claim that I don't even recommend that a coach make. Right. But like, I mean, I can totally cure your phobia.
I can have you out of this in a minute. She's like, why would I want that? And she had this like really disgusted look on her face. She's like, why would I want that?
You know? And it's like, my energy was all wrong about it. Right. Um, and so one of the things that I think is an important principle that he's, that he's teaching here.
And I know that at least in my business, I can say this absolutely is true is that people have to qualify now to get my time rather than just attacking people with information that they may or may not want. Um, and, and so a much more intelligent way to have approached that situation, which is like, wow, I noticed you're really scared of snakes. Is that something that you want help with? Well, what if she said, no, am I going to go data dump on her and tell her about all the ways she can get?
It's like, no, she just told me she doesn't want it. So maybe he can, maybe he can tell us a little bit about how he does that. Maybe here in a minute, but, but that's really more of a sales conversation. Take, let's take team members here for a minute.
And again, remember I'm not an active builder. Uh, at this moment, there may be a day when I build a power network, but, um, but what if it, you know, what if, what if we do the same thing with a team member? You got 10 people on a team, but maybe because of their size, they're not going to be able to get to that. Right.
So, so, so, so, but maybe because of their circumstances or their life or wherever they're at, they're not out there doing anything, but we're just attacking them with information. It's like that energy. I can tell you as a coach pushes people away. I mean, Justin, I'd like your feedback.
I mean, what, what's your experience like? Not because I've said it, but I mean, yeah, there's attraction marketing and push marketing. And that's why most marketers are unsuccessful. They're just pushing people away.
Yeah. They're just pushing them away. So tell me a little bit about that. This is way off topic, but this is a value point.
And I want you to go back into your ads and I'm going to give you kind of, I'm probably gonna let you take free reign here for a minute. Cause I think you've got, I'm going to look through this and see if there's any of the goals that I haven't really hit. I think I've at least touched on almost everything. And I'd like you just to maybe walk, have you walk us through, you know, a little bit of your ad, the structure, anything that you think is just important structurally.
Yeah. I'm glad you asked. Cause I was just asking the universe in my mind. I'm like, what would serve and benefit everyone the most right now?
Yeah. The first thing that came to my mind is giving you the hypnotic story structure. I follow on all my ads. I kind of know it by heart.
Uh, my partner, uh, Jabril, who used to run my traffic back in the day, he introduced me to like this form of advertising. And it's something we, uh, given our course, I would just like to give it to everyone for free. I'll pull it up and we'll just review it really quick. I like, you know, it could take me hours to like break every segment down, but at least you can see, uh, every segment that should be included in a long hypnotic story, because that's going to be the most, the part that takes the most, uh, time and effort to create the, the placing of, of the ad and choosing an interest.
And all this stuff is like super easy, but creating a good story is where the skill really comes in. So I have your permission. Well, I'll pull up a document and pull it out. We pull it out.
We're going off the modeling and we're just going to let him go and give us some awesome value here. Sweet. And while you're pulling that up though, I am curious though, um, if in like 30 seconds or less, you could just give a comment on if you have somebody that, that comes into your world and they're asking you for, for information. And this is really a whole separate topic, but you know, we're talking about push versus pull.
How do you engage that poll process, whether it's a team member or whether it's a, um, whether it's a new prospect that's just contacting you for the first time. Um, so you're talking about how do I apply law of attraction? How do you engage? It's more of an engagement question.
How do you engage? So let's say that somebody, they post a comment on your thing that says, Hey, yeah, I'd like to be mentored. And then they private message and say, dude, I was really moved by your post. That was, that was really awesome.
Like, what do you do next? How are you engaging with that person? Um, if you're collecting the lead, I'd really don't have to do, Oh, I can show you a response actually. Um, I, I'll do that really quick.
And then I think I opened up this document and then we'll get from there. We'll let you go, um, and do, and do your thing. Cause I think that's probably most value here for the, for the audience. So, um, my replies would love, like they, they share love somehow in some form.
And then I just say, would love to connect, shoot me a private message. Cause that was my goal. Maybe if my goal is to get the lead, I would say, you know, go here for more information and send them to a lead capture page. And then say, feel free to private message me.
I do that most commonly. Um, thanks for sharing and being honest. Oftentimes it's our own light. We fear holding us back from greatness.
Interaction is very, uh, very important. So, um, I like to do that because then people think if they leave a comment, there's a chance that I interact with them as well. And it helps snowball the effect of content. Okay.
Awesome, man. That's great. Um, so let me, I'm going to go ahead and start the recording now. And I'm going to go ahead and pull this one up.
Oh, I think I see it here. Oh, I see it. Oh, I see it here. Oh, I see it here.
And while he's pulling that up, just everybody at, uh, at home, we, one, once you go through this, reach out to Justin, give him some love somehow, like stuff, comment and stuff, share his stuff. I mean, this, the value we're getting here is just off the, off the charts. So, counsel because he wants to help everybody in the in the coaching program so huge shout out to you Justin appreciate it man um so this is in a nutshell it's like this is the structure we've been following on all our ads all our team follows it and as you know our team gets results most everyone through Facebook using the same method we've been using for years now uh you know intro your first sentence should have a keyword relating to the audience you're targeting second sentence create some empathy that talks specifically to them third sentence tell them a reason why they should listen to you uh because if you follow this it'll like really work you know what I mean it doesn't have to like have every step in there it can be like you know you could be missing a thing or two however it's a good structure to follow if you especially if you're new in the first paragraph we talk about their problems and how we solve them in short often you talk about them in your own experience hence the hypnotic you don't want to be like you should do this to create financial freedom you'd be like this is how I created financial freedom you know what I mean and then you're hypnotically selling them um five I want to share with you how I got to where I am today six transition to your story seven personal story that relates to the niche audience not random chit chat nobody cares about like your dog named spot which basically means everything in the story has a purpose there's no content that's just there to be there to like look cool it's like everything every story aspect there's a reason I'm sharing that story you know what I mean eight talk about your failed attempts in life because if you're perfect nobody relates nine start pre-framing them for what it is you want to offer them ten when you started you had no experience or limited experience if it's true if it's not true share whatever you had eleven when your life changed give them advice to help them with life but also further pre-frame them for what it is you're offering them I do this almost in every post I'll say here's three tips or here's like three actions to help them with life and I'll say here's three tips or here's like three actions to you're offering to help with life and I'll say here's like three actions to help them with life and that was essentially you know a opportunity to learn in the traditional way three steps it just percieves more value when you chunk it that way and it's easier to read and I always through that you just proceed there's more value when you chunk it that way and it's easier to read and I always do that maybe five steps or three steps or two tips whatever it is eleven when your life or I did that 120 all the tips explain how you're different and why you care so much about helping em this is big deal because there's so many gurus saying all the right things what makes you different something that makes me different I actually respond to everybody who messages me I don't know many seven tips how you like them what makes you different I actually respond to everybody who messaged as me I don't know many seven figure income earners to do that so that's something different right 13 for more information about xyz visit lead capture page so you can generate the leads also share your personal facebook if you want them to reach out to your personal page or you can do something the ps like i'm a real person i actually respond to my messages feel free to reach out to me something like this i typically include in most of my ads um and then i think i just show you some examples of some very successful posts uh from you know the past uh on the page from jabril myself and nathan who's a fellow six-figure earner using the same method uh that we use so what i'll do is i'll get will the link and maybe we can put this in the members area so everyone has access to it but this is my literal blueprint for writing stories and having the effect that we have uh so i'm glad uh you know i'm only giving it to you because you've invested over five thousand dollars in your business i wouldn't give this to a new b they shouldn't be doing paid ads in the first place it's way above you know where they're at right now and let's honor let's honor justin by keeping this within the within the coaching group and and and just a reminder you the the this is going to go on the on the secrets page which is a bonus page and to retain access to the material on this bonus page you've actually got to keep up with the assignments that we're giving you and so you will lose access to the material on this bonus page you've actually got to keep up with the assignments that we're giving you and so you will lose access to this page um if if you don't continue on with that and that and that's the form of love the love that we have is that we say we we believe in you enough to ask you to take action the reason that you joined this coaching program was to get a result and we want to make sure that you're taking the actions that are going to actually get you those results so justin just huge shout out if you could get if actually tara if you're on i'm gonna justin will send me this link i'm going to send it to you i don't actually want you to post this video or the link quite yet because i'm going to ask people in the group and if you're listening to this you you've followed through i'm going to ask them to actually take some action before they get access to this bonus and um and so there's going to be some things to do before you see this so if you're seeing this it means you've actually done something fairly amazing and um and we're saying that with love and uh right here for me and me and justin and then we'll post this up so take the video tara and take the um the bonus the bonus material that he's going to send over on his on his formula his hypnotic selling formula and let's keep that in reserve until after the live coaching call now justin i'm gonna i'm gonna invite you back into the live coaching call and we're gonna have you do some probably straight out teaching and less modeling and um and we're just gonna have you share from your heart anything you think that will really benefit the group maybe we'll have you do some q a with the group on on creating traffic does that sound all right totally and we'll give you how much time would you like would you like 30 minutes um you know what would be valuable to you uh or how much time you think you need to be able to really create some some powerful value um time goes so quick i'm used to doing like four hour webinars and stuff there's just so much information to be honest um you know so uh the more time the better um but you don't want to conquer roman one day either and bog people down with too many things so keep we'll keep it really simple uh i may be valuable we actually spend an entire session like helping people construct their story but that can take a couple hours i don't i don't know what i can do in 30 minutes um it has to be i assume i'm thinking maybe up to an hour probably i mean i'll ultimately i'll give you as much time as you want to you want to go this is about creating value for the for the group but we don't want to like you know blast people out either an hour upwards of an hour i want you to be thinking about it and by the time you see this you'll actually have seen the other segment and um and you don't need to reteach anything you have here but if you're interested in that if you feel like you can clarify anything that you've got um we can do that now always the you know a good measurement i think of the value that we're delivering as we're modeling is just to ask you know justin from what we've talked about today and this will be where we wrap up um from you know from what we've talked about today what do you feel like if somebody walked away with like one concept and they can go back in and re-watch it so you don't need to reteach it necessarily but if there was one thing that you would take somebody and just say go back in and re-watch what we just did what what's the thing that you feel like had the you know most value for most people as they're out there you know working on their traffic or working on sharing their messages creating your story most of you have probably never taken the time to write down what your story is what were some of the the turning points you know anytime i share my story it's the same thing i was living in a 300 square foot studio apartment in guanacaste province coco beach costa rica and it's just a part of my story it just lets people know where i once was you know and how i overcame it because more than likely they're reading it going through a similar low a similar struggle uh you know with finances or so so forth and then presenting them with the solution but if you don't know what your story is it's going to be very hard to inspire people i think if you can get clear on what your story is and actually write it down following the hypnotic you can also put that on your blog you can also word it on a video if you're more comfortable with video and you don't like writing same concept applies we didn't have time tonight to show a video ad but similar principle only it'd have to be condensed because if you have a 10 minute video it won't convert well based on my testing but if you keep it very concise and maybe just a few things up in your story but same concept and offer them a solution by clicking the link below it's very effective so my thing for you tonight the biggest thing is take the time to write your story follow the hypnotic story structure and then share it and get feedback from people uh you know post it on your blog post it on facebook send it to people see what they think and what they feel and just pay attention to the comments they leave you maybe they'll offer you some advice maybe it makes them feel this way or that way maybe it's you know what i mean so i think that is a a great stepping stone for getting the content out there fantastic and maybe since we're bringing you back maybe when when we bring you back rather than rehash a lot of the same kind certainly you're welcome to share whatever you want but maybe we can have you talking about video ads when you when you come back on to the live coaching session does that sound good totally man i appreciate it well thank you so very much and thank you all for watching this i hope you got a lot of value out of it and just appreciate you for showing up in your business yeah and uh justin thank you again man so have an awesome evening and again give him a huge shout out give him some love there on the internet share his stuff like his stuff and um and just you know reach out to him and comment on one of his posts and let him know how valuable he is he's an amazing human being and so i just appreciate you and again um i think that that's all terry you William Wood here, and I'm here with the famous Justin Verrengia, and we're going to be doing some NLP modeling around traffic.
And most of you by now will have already done your first assignment, which is to go ahead and write up your outcomes. And probably by the time you've seen this, we've already given you your second assignment. And we've brainstormed those with the leadership council, and those will be evolving over time.
I was talking with the leadership council last night, not everybody, but a handful of them, those that can make it to the planning call.
And we asked, who does traffic better than anybody? And it was interesting, because I asked each of them for their opinion, and the same name came out right on top. And so, Justin, I just want to let you know that the leadership council, even when you're not there, is speaking very, very highly of your ability to do traffic. So good to have you on, man.
I appreciate it. It's truly an honor to be here. I'm really excited to show you all what it is that I'm doing that's netting the results my wife and I are getting right now within this community. Yeah, that's super exciting. I mean, I want to give them a standing ovation right now.
But this is going to be pretty organic, meaning we're just going to be talking, free-flowing. We're going to be using NLP modeling technology, and you're going to learn something about NLP modeling as you go. Now, some of NLP modeling is more art than science, and some of it is very, very structured. We're going to start off with a very, very structured piece. And I just want to let the audience know a little bit about it, because really, at the heart of NLP is modeling.
When people think about NLP, they think about this technique or that technique. And that's really useful when you're starting off learning NLP. It's hard. It's hard to just learn NLP from scratch if you don't know anything about it. There's no technique to attach it to.
But years ago, Richard Bandler said this, or something to this effect — it's probably a loose paraphrase. He said, NLP is an attitude and a methodology that leaves behind a trail of techniques. So it's an attitude and a methodology that leaves behind a trail of techniques.
Now, I think there's a few things important. The attitude that I think he's talking about there, and really we can only ask Richard to know, is the attitude of curiosity, right? Is to get really curious — like, what are people doing? And in this case, I know that I am super curious about what it is that Justin is doing to create the level of response that he's gotten from prospects, and also the type of traffic that he has. The methodology that is NLP is the methodology of modeling.
And then everything else — notice how he says it leaves behind a trail of techniques. And I would emphasize the "leaves behind." The techniques of NLP are the least important part of NLP.
They are important. The core of NLP, what built NLP, and what continues to keep NLP on the cutting edge of things, is the art and science of modeling. Now, modeling is about finding the difference that makes a difference in somebody's attitudes, beliefs, behaviors. And so today we're going to be exploring a lot of things. We're going to use this model that was created to help with the modeling process.
It was created by one of my mentors to help with the modeling process. It gives you a way of simplifying an otherwise fairly complex thing. It's called the GEO model. And GEO stands for goals, evidence, and outcomes. It's not the be-all end-all of the modeling process.
You can think of it as being at the heart of the modeling process. It gives you a springboard to start and then go from there. One of the things that we say with NLP modeling is that when you're modeling someone, you don't want to talk about what they usually do. I was just talking to Justin about this off camera. And that is, if somebody asked me how I do NLP with a client in the context of a coaching session, I might give one answer.
If you asked me what I did 10 minutes before I got on this call with the very last person I was doing coaching with, I might give you a very, very different answer. And what we say is that modeling happens in a specific context. And that means that for Justin, we're going to be putting him into actual ads that he's doing, rather than talking about what he usually does or what he does a lot. Not that that doesn't have value, but that's not really modeling.
So with that in mind, we're going to be talking about goals, evidence, and outcome inside of a very specific situation. And what I've asked Justin to do is identify at least three examples of different types of traffic that he's run maybe in the last little while to produce the results that he's getting. So this is cutting-edge stuff, what's happening probably in the last little bit. So tell me these three examples that you gave me — are these relatively recent?
Are they old? Yeah, good question. The first two that come to mind are the two that I do most frequently right now on Facebook, and they're both PPC methods.
One is a long story post, where we engage our audience with a really long written story, maybe 1,000 to 3,000 words. And the other thing is a video ad, where maybe you have a one or two minute video. It could be longer, but typically shorter is better. And the video shares a bit of your story and a call to action.
Both — the objective is really to get a lead, get them to do something at the end of the post or the end of the video. Okay, so let's go ahead and choose one or the other to start with, and we'll go from there. Would you like to start with the long story or the video?
Yeah, let's do the long story. They're my favorite because they seem to get the most shares and the most love, and when you get people sharing your ad, it creates what Dave calls "viral sustainability," and that's why we're able to sign up so many people and get so many leads. We create value-driven content that people just love to share, and so it makes our lead costs very inexpensive. Do you want me to log into my Facebook, share my screen, and just get right into it?
Because I'd like to go into one specific ad. And so, again, we're doing modeling — we want to take you into one specific context. And actually, I'd like to start before you actually go into the ad, because one of the things I know about doing anything is that there are attitudes attached to it, and there are belief sets attached to it. So why don't you identify one ad that you don't mind talking about, and you can pull up your screen anytime, and we can go from there.
Awesome, let me go ahead and do that. Just give me a second. And what I'm going to do — and some things you should know — you can't run a paid ad off of a profile right now. I'm in my profile. So I'm just going to log into my fan page.
If you don't have a fan page, you can create one as long as you already have a profile. If you don't even own a profile, you can create one and then create your fan page. I have a few different ones. I'm going to go to my most active one that I'm working in.
Let's see here — I'm going to go ahead and go to the fan page. Here we go. Did you say you wanted me to identify an attitude, or can we get there from — I'll help you with that, but just identify one ad that you can remember placing, so that we have a really clear memory around this example of this long story post.
Yeah, that'll be a recent one. I'm just going to scroll down. I'm going to give you the one getting the best results. It's the one on the law of attraction, which is this one right here.
I wrote and posted it back on November 8, 2015. Do you want me to open it up and start reading it, or — actually, before that, we want to associate you into it. And that means, for those of you who don't have a lot of NLP experience, we want to put him right into the situation where he's about ready to place the ad. So he hasn't even placed the ad yet.
It's just — maybe the moment, like when you identified that you needed to place an ad, or that it was time to place an ad. So just mentally step back into that experience and reconnect with where you were when you placed that ad.
Yeah, the first thing I was thinking before placing an ad — you've got to think about who you're speaking to. In Facebook terms, we call it your target audience.
So in this case, you're about ready to place an ad, and you want to identify your target audience. Put yourself right there and just ask yourself: who's the target audience for this ad, and how did you come to that? What was your goal in regard to the target audience? This particular niche, the law of attraction, I started targeting back in 2012 or 2013.
Whenever I began doing Facebook ads, I started thinking, what was a big shift in my life? And when I asked that question, immediately the movie The Secret came to my mind, because for me, it opened up Pandora's box on what's possible. So I wanted to connect with people who can relate to that, who are researching The Secret, maybe just came across Rhonda Byrne, or anyone related to The Secret — Bob Proctor, Joe Vitale, basically anyone in the personal development niche — because law of attraction is so relevant to so many things.
So I just started thinking, who can I really resonate with if I shared my story? And just being honest, I picked this niche years ago, and I still just write lots of stories about it, because it really connects with people. And I try to speak their language in the ad. So if someone is researching the law of attraction, and they read my story, they know I'm not BS-ing. I actually am firmly into this stuff.
And that's why I feel like I can guide them and offer a solution to their problem. So another thing I start thinking about is, what's the biggest problem they're experiencing right now for that keyword? Because every ad should only be targeting one keyword, or one specific interest. So I started my ad with my keyword: "the law of attraction shifted my entire life." The reason I say that is because you only have so much time to really capture their attention at the beginning.
But because I know who I'm targeting — people related to The Secret — I know it's going to grab their attention. And that's really, really important when doing an ad. So a couple of things, and then I want you to come back and talk a little bit specifically about this ad and how you got there. So you identified this target market a long time ago — this is one you've been marketing to for some time.
And the question you asked, I think, was a really important one, because remember — in modeling, we're not talking about copying. That's what most people think about when they think about modeling, and there is some value to just copying somebody, as long as you're not stealing their stuff. I don't believe in that. That's not cool, right?
But in modeling, we really want to get down to what's the difference that makes a difference. The question he asked himself was, who can I resonate with? That was the question he asked. So in terms of picking a target audience — if I don't resonate, and I do, but if I don't resonate with the law of attraction marketplace, then I wouldn't want to go there, because people's BS sniffers would sniff me out, right?
Is that what I'm hearing you say? Absolutely. So that's really important. Typically, you're speaking to yourself if you're your perfect avatar — it's perfect. But also one more thing to consider, Will — would that niche be a good fit for our offer?
Right. So, for example, if I'm into comic books, maybe Comic Con people are not the right fit for my business. Maybe they are, I don't know, because I'm the hippie Jedi — so that was probably a bad example. But if I was into stamp collecting, or something of that nature, or coupon savings, that's probably not the niche I want to go after, because those people are probably at a low spectrum on the financial freedom path, or maybe don't have the right mindset yet, because they're thinking about saving 20 cents or 30 cents.
Whereas with law of attraction, not only do I resonate with the audience, but they're people who tend to read, who are interested in knowledge, which is all about what our business is about. So I know that target market could be a possible good fit for my business. So I'm not thinking about saving 20 or 30 cents — I'm thinking, is this the right fit for the offer. Is that target market a good fit?
I don't want to attract always-broke people. If I targeted people who own Rolexes, probably a good fit — people who have $5,000 to join a business and get all in. So just something to consider — would they be a good fit for the offer that I have?
So let's back up. With this ad specifically, it's a good fit for the offer that I have. You had already identified the target niche years ago, and you probably write periodically about it, or maybe even often about it. But this is where I want you to actually step into the context, and I'm not sure we've quite gotten you there yet.
So I just want to verify — there you are, you're about ready to place this ad. How do you know it's time to place this ad? What triggers it in your mind? What's going on in your business?
Yeah, so I wrote this story late one night — Kuan Yin was sleeping, it was like 1 a.m. And I'm like, I'm not going to go to sleep until I finish the story. My wife, Dee, she's an incredible writer, and she can write something amazing in 10 minutes. It takes me hours. I'm not as gifted — it just takes me a lot longer to tap in, find my quiet space, download, and feel inspired to write from the heart, from the core.
So it took me like three or four hours. I went to bed at like 5 a.m. But I had a good story. I'll write it once, then rewrite it again, and maybe take out insignificant parts of the story. But it took me a few hours to write.
And I didn't plan on being in my account writing it just to post it — that would feel rushed. I open up a notepad on my computer and take the time to write something good, realizing the content is everything. It's really important to have good content. I have certain parts of the story — in the very beginning, you have to really hook them in. That's really important.
In the very beginning, I have to show I'm a human being, that I wasn't always successful. So I talk a lot about my struggles, how I had to learn to overcome them, then I give them tips — my tips that transformed everything — to really get them to pay attention, so they feel they got a lot of value out of it. Tip one: find the right mentor. I'm using hypnotic storytelling.
I'm using the storytelling that we learn in the Top Producer Formula, and in the Mass Influence Formula, because I'm basically pre-framing them for me to be their mentor without telling them that — you know what I mean? Tip two was the right energy. Well, hang on, I want to back you up — we're going to come back to this here in a minute. I want to rewind you a little bit, because I'm hearing major gold here.
So I just want to thank you for sharing this. This is stuff that people pay a lot of money to get from you. I just want to recognize that. And also, from the community — if we can all just say thank you, Justin. In fact, after you watch this video, go find one of his posts and give him some love.
Seriously, this is behind-the-curtain kind of stuff. So thank you. But I want to go back to — here you are, and you said it's 1 a.m., and you decided to write it after your daughter went to bed.
But there's something else there, and that is what triggered the decision to place an ad. I don't want to put words in your mouth, so I'm going to be careful about how I do this. But some people might place an ad because they have a kind of mental clock they place ads on.
Some people might look at their lead flow. Some people might have an internal sense. Some people might have a really specific strategy. But even before you started writing at 1 a.m., what let you know it was time to write an ad? I wanted more leads.
And one good story can get you hundreds of leads a day. And it was at that time where maybe the time was right, and I was like, I'm going to do this.
My last ad was written several months ago, and I wanted something fresh and new that my audience had never seen before. So that's what triggered it. At the time I was maybe down to 30 or 50 leads a day, because I was running an ad for a while and focused on other things. And I said, let me regroup, get back to the basics, get back to 200, 300 leads a day.
And I had that objective when I was writing the story. I wanted to inspire so many people with my content that they'd feel guilty not sharing it with their friends and family, and to opt in for more information because it's so value-driven. You can tell my purpose is to really uplift people. I think if you read this, it might strike an emotional chord, because when I was downloading the information, I was in a very emotional state, inspired to write it and get the information out.
So I've heard you say a few things, and I want to touch on them, because again, modeling is about finding the difference that makes a difference. It's also looking for the structure of things. If I learn what Einstein's strategy is — well, I'm not going to be Einstein, but I can use Einstein's strategy for creativity within my own natural creativity, if that makes any sense. So a couple of things — you knew it was time to write an ad because your lead flow had dropped lower than it had been, maybe because your old ad hadn't been placed for a few months.
Maybe that was ad fatigue setting in, or, if you're running a lot of traffic to an ad, you may have to find a new interest or different audience to put it in front of, especially if you're doing a lot of traffic — you can run through it kind of fast. It all depends. I just know lead flow wasn't where I like it to be. If I'm ever below a hundred leads a day, I need to get serious, figure out what's going wrong, and get an active ad out there. So that's kind of what I did.
I think I had just gotten back from an event — it was two events — and I was very inspired after Leadership Day, after the main event. And I was like, I need to get back to what I was doing, because I was kind of slacking, and I wasn't placing ads for my business for a while. I was focusing on my own product, selling a PPC course or something like that. So I said, I need to get back and focus on the business, because I saw the direction we were going.
I learned about the unilines, and I just got inspired to really run traffic through our offer within Empower. So I heard a couple of things — one, your lead flow was below where it usually was, and then you went to an event and got inspired, and the inspiration triggered this experience where you went to go inspire other people. So let me ask you about this feeling of being inspired. What I want you to do is just mentally check it against maybe the last three ads you've done.
How important is the state of feeling inspired to writing your ads? Check it against three or four examples, and tell me if it's present in all, none, or just this one. Present in all — content, my wife and I create on the internet, from a value standpoint, or from a state — this is really a state and a value standpoint.
One of the things that's critical to Justin's strategy is — and I'm guessing, don't let me put words in your mouth — I want you to check this against your own experience. If you're not feeling inspired, if you don't feel like you're really downloading the information, that you can't uplift people, will you place an ad if you write it and it's not inspiring content, or you haven't downloaded it? Personally, I have writer's block when I'm not inspired. You may look at me on stage or listen to me talk and think I can just tap into a zone, but I have to become inspired. I'm a human being.
At the end of the day, I wake up and I'm in a different space, and I have to listen to something empowering or tap in somehow, doing one of my success rituals. That's really important for me. Good content doesn't just naturally come to me unless I am in the right state. And I think that's why your NLP training is so key to me, because I realized I can control what state I'm in. I can shift my mental state within like 10 seconds if I really want. But if I didn't know that, I would just say I'm not talented, I'm not a good writer.
I'm never inspired, I have writer's block — but that's not the case. So let's talk about this for a minute with this specific ad. You were already inspired, because you had been to an event, and you were kind of in the afterglow.
But you talked about a success ritual, so I want to go back into this. You talked about the event, which was a key part of your success ritual for this particular download that you got. But was there anything else that you did before 1 a.m. to prepare your mindset to write, or were you already there and just needed to sit down and take the time?
I think, remembering that it's been a few months — I put my daughter to sleep at nine o'clock, and then I woke up around 12 or one o'clock, changed her diaper, and put her back to sleep with a bottle. And then I had free time to actually — when I write, I like a quiet environment. It's hard for me to write if my daughter's up and about, running around, pulling my finger. She's only two.
She doesn't talk much, so she just kind of grabs me to do something. So I kind of just need space. I was probably in my room, or in a room in the house, just finding a quiet space where I can pour my heart into an inspiring story.
And so if you think about three or four of the last ads you've written, how important is that quiet time, that space? For me, all my stories — because I'm spending money advertising that stuff, so I'm going to make sure it's my best content. And my best content is always going to come from a quiet space where I'm downloading inspiration. And I know I'm downloading when what's coming to me gives me tears, because I always reach my core, my why, you know what I mean?
And I know that when I feel that, when I'm thinking it or writing it, I know other people are going to feel that emotion when they're reading it the same way. I can feel people's emotion when I read their stories, because that was one of the intentions with creating the ad — to really inspire people to take action and do something about it, to change their life.
And you come back to this idea about inspiration, so quiet time for you, having space, is really critical to making this work. So we've got a state, and the state is a state of feeling inspired. Now, when you feel inspired, where do you feel that in your body? You mentioned two words — you mentioned inspired, and you mentioned the word silent, or silence, I think, is what I got. So are those two different states, or are they the same state?
It's a good question — it could be one and the same, but not always necessarily. For example, I could be reading what I've written so far, and just reading my own words re-inspires me to keep going in the story — that would be one example.
So in being inspired and being silent — are these two different things, are they both critical, or do you find that you lean more on one or the other? I could be inspired with a lot of noise, so I don't need silence to be inspired, but I tend, as a writer, to need silence to get something really good out. Whereas my wife can write with a bunch of distractions around her and do a dang good job of it, but my body just doesn't function that way — being silent helps me a lot, I know personally.
But if I was listening to something really empowering, like Tony Robbins or David Wood, I can probably write and feel inspired as well. But because it's focused around my story, when I'm silent it's easier for me to remember parts of my past that I can use as a trigger point, or something pivotal to share with people — maybe something I don't normally share, but it just makes sense to share it to make a point in my story.
And so now I'm going to ask you a general question, which isn't true modeling, but I just want you to check against three or four different ads you've had in general. What are your personal rituals for creating? Give me four quick experiences — say, four ads ago I did this to create inspiration, I did this to create silence — kind of give me an overview of some of the things you've done recently to create both inspiration and silence so that you can write.
I do yoga, I do qigong, I also started going to tai chi actively again at the end of last year. These practices all quiet the mind and help my energy flow, and put me in a state of solitude, thoughtlessness — not always. When I start my yoga session, I've got all sorts of stuff in my mind, or when I start to meditate, but typically by the end of the session, maybe 30 minutes or an hour later, I'm zenned out, and that's when I'm in my peak state as far as creating content or inspiring somebody.
So if you think about the last four times you produced content, name the specific rituals — like, give me three ads: this ad I did qigong, this ad I meditated, this ad I did this — and tell me how long you did each ritual, just off the top of your head.
Cool, and I want to be completely authentic — it's not like right before I write it I have to do it. It's just the fact of doing it sometime in the day, which makes it a lot easier to tap in. So it's not always right before — it's kind of just doing it, getting it out of the way, because when I don't do it, I feel out of balance, out of alignment personally. So I don't know specifically what technique or what kind of meditation I did, but I can just say that some sort of activity of quieting the mind, breathing consciously, does something special to me where I can be more in tune with who I truly am and my emotions.
So your overall goal is to get in tune with who you are and your emotions. Precisely.
Hang on — this is a huge theme. So far we haven't even gotten deep into the modeling process with him yet, but more important than what the specific words are that he's writing in his ad — and I'm sure there is a structure there that he's going to go through in a little bit — more important than that, if Justin was out of alignment, and he wasn't writing from his true self and this download of inspiration, his ads wouldn't have the same effect. And that's why I highly suspect that if somebody else stole his stuff, they wouldn't have the same impact.
It's so funny — I've seen that in the past, like word for word, they'll even take my picture and everything, but they definitely don't get the same results, because there's more to it in this energetic field. I totally believe that. And also the state — I think your state is really important when you're doing something. If I'm not in the right state, even if I think the content is good, it typically just doesn't work. I don't get the same results, for whatever reason — mystically, I can't explain it, doesn't make a lot of sense to a lot of people, but it's just a reality.
And so we can immediately apply that. I may end up writing very different content than Justin, and yet, with my audience, it may have a very similar effect.
It's interesting — I've hired copywriters before for my hypnosis business, and consistently, if I get a copywriter that doesn't quite nail it, my audience will respond like, this doesn't feel genuine, this doesn't feel authentic. And that's not to say you can't hire a copywriter, but it goes to show there's more than just technical skill there.
People have a pretty strong BS sniffer for heart and alignment, and I'm hearing that big time from you. So let's go back to this ad — if you want to pull it up, and we'll move in and out of it, because Justin and I didn't realize you guys couldn't see us while we were talking, so we were just kind of staring at the screen here.
But go ahead and pull that ad back up for a little bit. And then I want to know — as you're sitting down, it's one in the morning, you haven't really written anything yet. We know one of your big goals is inspiration.
And one of your big goals is to really download. Those are two themes that keep coming up. But what other goals did you have with this particular ad? I know we're going back three months, but put yourself right there and just notice — what other goals did you have?
November 8th. And crazy enough, Will, I joined the company November 8th of 2011. So symbolic — I didn't even realize this before, but symbolically that means a lot. And crazy enough, this ad has been one of my most successful ads since I placed it in November, and it still works extremely well.
So when I created this, I remember thinking something like, I want to generate 500 leads a day. I don't know the exact number I said, but I said something like that, aiming really high, because when I do something I tend to create an objective — why I'm doing it.
So I wanted to inspire people to take action and to generate 500 leads a day for my business. That was what I put out there with writing. So we've got two goals — well, I've got four. You wanted to inspire.
You wanted to download the information. You wanted to generate a really high number of leads, 500 a day or something like that. And you wanted to help people take action. What other goals did you have?
Big picture — I can't think of anything else. Okay, just go quiet for a minute and do whatever you've got to do to quiet the mind. Step right back into it.
I'm not saying there's another goal, but I want to make sure there's nothing else. So just step into it, ask yourself what other goals might have been present. Just genuinely help them, regardless of whether they click the link or not — feel like they got so much value out of it. How can I genuinely help them, them being the person reading the ad.
The ones going through the struggle, because I know what struggle they're going through — I know my audience, and I've gone through the struggle. So inspiring them to overcome their struggle by hearing my story, which is part of inspiring them. Part of inspiring them is helping them overcome.
All right, just go quiet for a minute and notice — is there any other goal that's present? This is the G, and GEO stands for goals. I mentioned it earlier a bit, but I want people to share it — that was another objective. I wanted people to share it, and I wanted people to private message me. And at the end of the ad, you'll see what I did to help facilitate that.
Those were the things I wanted — I basically wanted them to reach out to me and personally connect with me by sending me a private message. Because in this particular ad, I didn't have a lead capture page. This was the first time I tried something totally new.
I just wanted them to comment, private message me, and share it. So those were my three core objectives for action — the type of action I wanted them to take on this ad. Let me just write this down here.
So on this ad, you wanted them to comment, you wanted them to share, and then private message. Correct. Now, I think it's significant — I don't want to put words in your mouth again, I want you to just filter through your own experience.
You didn't mention the word "like" — that didn't even pop into your awareness as you were mentioning your three objectives for action. So you don't care so much if somebody likes your post. I almost feel like it's automatic — if they read it and they like it, they'll just hit like, because we're so programmed to do that. So I didn't want to make four steps — I felt like that's a little overwhelming, so I just kept it at three. The things I felt were most important, because I feel like if they're going to comment, more than likely they're going to like it too — and the evidence is here: 3,750 likes, 682 comments, over a thousand shares.
So I don't find likes to be difficult — that's why I didn't mention it. People just do it anyway.
So the like is not that critical a piece in your evaluation — you're looking for comments, shares, private messages. Basically, engagement — and you're measuring engagement as commenting, sharing, and private messaging. Yeah.
He's nodding his head, yes. So just go silent again, because this is valuable — we just got a couple of really important things. Just drop down into it.
There you are, you're getting ready to write this ad. Are there any other goals present as you're getting ready to write the ad? No, no. Okay.
And we're going to take that as no, because he blanked out twice, and then he did typically what I'm modeling for — I want to see, usually people say, "nope, that's it," and then we have them get quiet, tune in. You can't see him, but if you could, you'd see him kind of close his eyes, get centered. People don't have to do that, but they need to go inside and do a double check.
Notice that we got a couple of extra major nuggets, I think, along the way. So we've got some things about how he's measuring, and really what he's aiming to do. And one of the things that's impressed me, as I've watched other leaders not only in Empower Network but outside of it, is that they consistently always have their objective in mind before they do anything. Justin isn't just putting up a comment because people aren't liking his stuff, or putting up an ad because he's not getting some sort of social validation.
He's putting it up because he wants leads. He wants people to take action, and he wants to generate something very, very specific in his business. So he's got something in mind right away. So we're going to move into the evidence part of this before we even get into the structure of the ad. What we're going to do is take these one by one, and I'm just going to make a little note here.
I'm on five pages of notes at home. If you're watching this, I think there's at least five pages worth of content just on what we've gotten so far — hugely important stuff. If we go into evidence, what we want to do is take each goal one by one, and ask, what's the evidence?
How do you know that you've done that? So let me ask you this — how do you know that you've inspired somebody, which you told me means that you've helped them overcome the struggle? 682 comments, probably 98% of them had a breakthrough, a shift — they felt inspired, and they'll be very upfront in telling you, "you inspired me," and so on.
So I know directly from their response. So your evidence is really just seeing the response in the comments. Okay, cool.
And then what about downloading? Well, first I should ask — is there anything else that lets you know you've inspired people, or is it just mainly the comments? Just the overall results from it, like how many people are really messaging me, how many likes did we get. We mentioned 37 percent —
How many shares — for someone to like or share an ad, well, number one, most people probably don't even realize it's an ad, because it's totally outside the box, different from most everyone advertising on Facebook. So the fact that they're sharing my ad with their friends and family and loved ones is a great indicator that they're inspired, because I tend not to share anything if I'm not inspired myself. I have to be inspired, or it has to be really cool, and then I'll share something.
So I think they're sharing it because whatever I downloaded is really hitting or touching their heart or their soul. It's really touching them in some way. This is great stuff, man. I just have to say, appreciate it again.
Let's dive in now — what about downloading, what is your evidence that you've downloaded something? And this might be more like, think about this ad specifically — there you are, you're typing, or maybe before you're typing, how do you know that you've downloaded, that it's inspired content? It's a good question — it just feels like it is.
I'm very kinesthetic personally, so I just kind of know when I am, because I tend to get emotional. And when I download, I want to speak truth, because what I've recognized personally is that when I strike an emotional chord, it's because something truthful is being shared that is so profound. So when I am downloading, and I strike an emotional chord, I'm like, people need to hear this. That's my evidence.
I'm like, I wouldn't be feeling like this right now if it wasn't for other people. Right, so let's switch back over — let's switch off the ad for a second so that people can see us. I just thought about that just now.
But give me a second. And even if you can't see us, I'm telling you, this is brilliant, brilliant material, Justin. People — you get a feeling. Let's go back to this feeling piece of it. I wanted people to be able to see us, especially for this part.
Describe what that feeling is like. Because — and the reason I'm asking — is that as a human being, one of the things I notice with clients is that there's a great pattern in the way people behave. It doesn't mean Justin feels exactly the same thing, but he's going to describe things in a way I can relate to with my own neurology.
So as you're listening, step into your own neurology and just notice — what does your neurology feel like, what does your body feel like as he describes how he feels when he feels inspired? Think about this ad in particular, if you can remember, but if you can't grab hold of this one, grab hold of another one — where you knew you were inspired, and you can actually remember the event, and describe what it is that your body is sensing.
Do you want me to, or are you asking them to? No, I'm asking you, because — I feel like a yearning to get the information out, you know what I mean? Sometimes it feels like excitement, internally excited. Sometimes my chakras will be totally open, like my third eye will just be beaming, and I'm tapped into my higher consciousness.
That's a totally clear indicator. Okay, I want you to pause for a minute, and I want you to go specific with me. I don't know which ad you were thinking about when you did it, but you made a gesture like this and said "a yearning." I want you to put your hands back up here again.
Okay. Thank you. Just kind of connect with whatever's there. What's here?
What is that sensation? It's the feeling of freedom that we're blessed to experience. And I feel it's a feeling and a reality that all human beings — most, except maybe kids in Africa who don't even have their own drinking water, and that's an unfortunate circumstance — but for the majority of us, especially if you have the internet and you're watching this, you know what I mean.
I feel like it's my responsibility to share what I know, because anybody can have this with the right information, but not everyone's willing to listen, right? So it's my bigger purpose to express myself through that story. I've been in education, so I can say that when you're in a situation like that, you really focus on the knowledge of what's actually happening when you get the information from the core of your mind, and it's hard to put into words that unusual emotion, but that's what it's all about.
It was like you touched into something here — it was like a freedom coming out. What was the sensation like? Let me give you some examples: heat, pressure, tingling, a light feeling.
What is that, as you're experiencing that freedom that's kind of moving out from you? What is that like if you were to bring it into a sensory-based experience? I'm not as visual as a lot of visual people — it's just a feeling that overwhelms me in a positive way, that connects me to my core, my why, my purpose, my vision, what I stand for, what I represent. All these things come to mind, but through the form of a feeling.
Yeah, and again, the description of the feeling — I know I'm pressing on this a little bit, just stay connected to it. If my question takes you out of it, let me know, but just stay connected to that feeling. You're connected to your core, connected to your why.
Is it light? Is it heat? Is it tingly? Is it movement? Vibration?
It's like a vibration. Yeah, it's like a vibration feeling.
And so you get this vibration — does the vibration have a direction? Does it go one way or the other? Does it move in, does it move out, does it move up, does it move down?
I would describe it as just pulsating. Like right now, talking about it, my third eye is just pulsing. And if I was to describe the energy I feel, I can feel it in my heart. I can feel it anywhere I lay focus on my body, but I just feel my energy centers pulsating.
And you feel it here, and you mentioned here, and you were gesturing down here — so do you mainly feel it in your head and your heart? I also feel it in my palms and my feet. I feel it throughout my body. But for some reason, my third eye and my heart chakra typically tend to stand out, like they're the most active.
And so for those that aren't familiar with the chakra system, we're talking about the middle of the forehead, and down here in the heart area, and there's this kind of feeling. And when you feel that, you know that you've got that yearning, and that you're really downloading.
Yes. And I suspect highly, just because of the way I know other people work, that the feeling you feel — this is for the audience, maybe a little bit different — but notice that whether it's a conscious or unconscious mechanism, he's got something in place that lets him know when he's actually connected to his deeper purpose.
And did you hear the kind of mission language that came out — for Justin, placing an ad isn't just placing an ad, it has a lot to do with responsibility, with sharing, and with connecting. I feel like that's kind of the thing we have to get started with today, and I think that's a question we really need to be going through.
Now, you might describe it in your own words — you might have a different way of saying it. But the thing I've observed is that people, and Justin, you tell me if you feel differently here, aren't buying the product or service so much as they're buying this feeling that they get. And when we communicate, we are sharing ultimately the feeling or the state that we're in. That's one of the reasons why I spend as much time on state.
So if somebody's taking a video, that video captures the emotions, the thoughts, the energy that you're having right then. And if it gets shared a thousand times, you're sharing toxicity, or you're sharing inspiration, or irritation, or whatever it is that's on your heart or mind. This is powerful stuff, man. This is super, super powerful stuff.
Anything you want to add to that? Or am I off in any way? Because you're the expert on traffic. I don't want to put words in your mouth. No, you're spot on.
And I think most people just want to see, how do I place an ad — like the ad placing itself, a seven-year-old can do. I can guarantee you if you don't have good content, and you're not learning storytelling — hypnotic storytelling — within Empower Network, just by listening to Dave, you'll become a master at hypnotism. And obviously I share that because I want them to take action and click on the link, because the story provided a lot of value. So that's the general concept.
I'm going to show you maybe a couple other things here that work really well. This one had 545 shares. I think I targeted, like, Tony Robbins — I quote him in the very beginning, because again, I want to speak their language. So I opened this one up.
This is a very direct one, and my very direct posts tend to do very well, because I don't normally speak like this, but I want to get their attention, so I'm willing to do something outside the box. I mentioned: "you either master money, or on some level, money masters you." I couldn't agree more with Tony. I didn't want to be the one saying that, because maybe I'd offend somebody, but since Tony Robbins said it —
Right, and all of a sudden I have all this credibility saying it. So, I couldn't agree with him more — most people are, without a doubt, slaves to money, just like I used to be, while most people care not to admit it — a sad reality. Then I go on to talk about how it's not all about the money, because I know what they're thinking — spiritual people are like, "it's not all about the money," you know what I mean, and so I'm speaking their language. However, all money is really is energy, and once you understand the flow of energy, it can flow easily and effortlessly in your life, just like it does in mine. And I have an image of authority, with a microphone here.
I don't want to take too much time reading the story — again, you can go to my fan page any time and read this on your own. I know we have a very concise schedule here, but in a nutshell, 545 shares. Can you show us your call to action, though? Yeah, totally. We're talking about how that relates to the evidence — basically, how do I know this is working.
So let's look at the action. This one had a three-step call to action. I did three ads, all very successful — after I did it the first time with that one ad, I did it again with a different story, same exact process, different photo of course, and the same exact call to action: complete the three steps below if you're interested in the special opportunity. Step one: comment "I want to be personally mentored" below. I did this to see if they actually would follow directions, and a lot of them did — I'll show you the evidence in a moment. Step two: send me a private message telling me you want more info. Step three: share this message with others if it resonated with you.
And if you look here — first, let's look at the comments and see how many people said what I told them to say. "Thank you Justin, I love the way you think, great advice, very well said, I want to be personally mentored." "I agree with everything in this article, this is better than I could ever have put it." "Stay focused, my man." "I would like to be personally mentored."
"Love and light, I am blessed to be personally mentored" — that's somebody already working with me. "I am love." This person says, "I am my own mentor" — so they weren't necessarily interested. This person says, "I want to be personally mentored." "Hi Jedi, I want to be personally mentored." "I want to be personally mentored."
"I would love to know more." "Hey, how do you make money, are you a motivational speaker?" "I want to be —" curiosity works.
See, most people say too much about what they're promoting, and then people have no interest. I create the curiosity, and then people have to click on the link or message me to find out more information. I think that's a big takeaway.
"I want to be personally mentored, this is perfect." "I could use all the positive help I can get." "I would love to be personally mentored, this sounds great."
If you actually take the time to read the comments, a healthy percentage of them — hundreds of them — want to be personally mentored just by reading a story from a complete stranger, because I'm speaking their language, and I took the time to open up, share vulnerabilities. If you read my story, you should cry — if not, maybe I don't know what's up. But if you read my story, you should feel the emotion I was feeling when I was writing it, because that was my intention.
And I know these people did, hence why they're leaving such loving words, you know what I mean. "I want to be personally mentored." "I want to be personally mentored." "I want to be personally mentored, shooting you a PM."
That's how I know they're following directions, and I'm getting the evidence, because they're actually messaging me and commenting and sharing. This particular post had 545 shares, almost 1,500 likes — so one third of the people who liked it are sharing it — and 244 comments.
So for me, that's a big success there, from a story. Yeah, that's huge — a third of the likes shared it. Let me see if I click on it, I may get more data.
I just forget how to get the data from here — there's a simple way. Maybe I'll click on the time, try this. My mind is just blank, but you can click on something and see the data, all the stats.
But like I said, I'm only concerned with how many leads am I getting. And for this ad, I consider the lead someone actually messaging me, because here's how I look at it — if someone likes your post, comments on it, sends you a private message, or shares your stuff, write this down, I think there's a big takeaway: it gives you digital permission to contact them. Now, I'm not contacting them because I have so many people coming in.
I don't have to. But if you're doing ten dollars a day, and maybe only getting five or ten leads a day, but you're getting a bunch of likes, that's digital permission to reach out to them. Just always consider — Facebook doesn't want you contacting people you're not really friends with, so maybe limit it to maybe ten a day or something like that. That gives you the ability to reach out to people and say, hey, thank you so much for liking my post.
I would love to connect with you, and maybe ask them a question about themselves — what do you currently do for a living, kind of open up the door, you know what I mean. Because if you're not generating a ton of leads, I would totally be doing that, but I just don't have to, because I'm scaling it, kind of a different model.
But if I was just getting started, my resources were really tight, I had limited funds. Anyone who likes my stuff — I have 1,490 people here — I could reach out to maybe ten a day or something like that. And there's so many people, right?
So if someone likes, shares, comments on your stuff, or messages you, you have digital permission to reach out to them, and it doesn't have to be awkward, because they liked your content, you know what I mean. So that's another big takeaway. Yeah, that's amazing. And I think it's important to note — you're not reaching out to them and spamming them.
You're just reaching out and trying to connect with them. Genuinely helping them, I'm not trying to sell them. It's like they have a problem, I'll present a solution, and if they're not open-minded to it, move on to the next one. I'm just trying to find the right people, not everybody, you know?
I'll be honest, most people, though they say they want to be mentored, don't really, because they don't follow the directions you give them — they just want to say it because it's easy to say it. So I'll be honest, if everyone signed up who said that, I'd have thousands of signups, there'd be nobody left on the planet.
We'd have everyone in our downline right now. Yeah, right. So, but this is important — I mean, and as a coach, I can speak to this, because this is really, really important. This is a little off topic — probably more for sales — but I think it's also super important to understand real quick. You keep that thought, I'm going to run to the bathroom, because I drank this whole thing of water, and I'll be right back.
Come back and we'll dive back into your content here. But one of the things as a coach that I've learned is that you can either attack somebody, or you can draw them into you. And it's a much more powerful experience to draw them into you. So one of the things I'll see new coaches do all the time is they'll learn a new NLP technique — maybe I'll give you a bad example that I did early on here in a minute — but they'll grab hold of a technique that works, they know they have something of great value, they're really excited about it.
And then they'll go start attacking people with it, and that energy just puts people off. So one of the things new coaches need to learn how to do is draw people into them by just teasing them a little bit, and then giving them the opportunity to engage in a conversation. So, for example, this is a bad example of how to do this — and then I'll come back around, and this really has to do with having people qualify for your time.
Qualify, meaning basically raising their hand to say, hey, this is important, the information you've got for me — I want more. So my neighbor was the unfortunate recipient of this. I apologize to her, I've apologized to her since — but I learned this awesome NLP technique to solve phobias or fears in just minutes.
And I was blown away by this amazing technique. So I get out of my NLP training course, and I started attacking people who would say that they were afraid of something. So she would say — I think what she said was, "I'm afraid of snakes." She was so afraid of snakes that if she saw a snake on TV, she would curl up in the fetal position.
And without thinking, if she wanted what I had, without thinking about whether there was any rapport in this situation, I was just like, I can totally fix that, make a movie up on the wall. And she's like, what are you doing to me? And she immediately started to move away from me, like, I don't want this.
This is crazy, I don't want this. And I was like, I can help you cure your phobia. And she's like — which, by the way, isn't a claim I even recommend a coach make, right — but I said, I can totally cure your phobia, I can have you out of this in a minute. She's like, why would I want that? She had this really disgusted look on her face — why would I want that?
My energy was all wrong about it, right. So one of the things I think is an important principle that he's teaching here — and I know at least in my business this is absolutely true — is that people have to qualify now to get my time, rather than just attacking people with information they may or may not want.
A much more intelligent way to have approached that situation would have been, "wow, I noticed you're really scared of snakes, is that something you want help with?" Well, what if she said no — am I going to go data-dump on her and tell her about all the ways she can get help? No, she just told me she doesn't want it. Maybe he can tell us a little bit about how he does that.
Maybe here in a minute — but that's really more of a sales conversation. Let's take team members here for a minute. Again, remember I'm not an active builder at this moment — there may be a day when I build in Empower Network — but what if we do the same thing with a team member? You've got 10 people on a team, but maybe because of their circumstances or their life or wherever they're at, they're not out there doing anything, and we're just attacking them with information.
That energy, I can tell you as a coach, pushes people away. Justin, I'd like your feedback — not because I've said it, but what's your experience like? Yeah, there's attraction marketing and push marketing, and that's why most marketers are unsuccessful — they're just pushing people away.
So tell me a little bit about that. This is way off topic, but this is a value point. I want you to go back into your ads — I'm probably going to let you take free rein here for a minute, because I think you've got — I'm going to look through this and see if there are any goals I haven't hit. I think I've at least touched on almost everything. I'd like you to walk us through a little bit of your ad, the structure, anything you think is just important structurally.
Yeah, I'm glad you asked, because I was just asking the universe in my mind, what would serve and benefit everyone the most right now. The first thing that came to my mind is giving you the hypnotic story structure I follow on all my ads — I kind of know it by heart. My partner, Jabril, who used to run my traffic back in the day, introduced me to this form of advertising. It's something we give in our course, but I'd just like to give it to everyone for free. I'll pull it up and we'll review it really quick.
It could take me hours to break every segment down, but at least you can see every segment that should be included in a long hypnotic story, because that's going to be the part that takes the most time and effort to create. The placing of the ad and choosing an interest and all that stuff is super easy, but creating a good story is where the skill really comes in.
So I have your permission — I'll pull up a document and pull it out. We're going off the modeling, and we're just going to let him go and give us some awesome value here. Sweet.
And while you're pulling that up, I am curious — in 30 seconds or less, could you comment on this: if somebody comes into your world and they're asking you for information — and this is really a whole separate topic, but we're talking about push versus pull — how do you engage that pull process, whether it's a team member or a new prospect contacting you for the first time?
It's more of an engagement question — how do you engage? So let's say somebody posts a comment on your thing that says, "hey, I'd like to be mentored," and then they private message you and say, "dude, I was really moved by your post, that was really awesome." What do you do next, how are you engaging with that person?
If you're collecting the lead, I don't really have to do — oh, I can show you a response actually, I'll do that really quick. And then I think I'll open up this document, and we'll go from there. We'll let you go and do your thing, because I think that's probably most valuable here for the audience.
So my replies would be, "love, they share love somehow in some form," and then I just say, "would love to connect, shoot me a private message" — because that was my goal. Maybe if my goal is to get the lead, I would say, "go here for more information," and send them to a lead capture page, and say, "feel free to private message me." I do that most commonly. "Thanks for sharing and being honest — oftentimes it's our own light we fear that's holding us back from greatness."
Interaction is very, very important. So I like to do that, because then people think if they leave a comment, there's a chance I'll interact with them as well. And it helps snowball the effect of the content.
Awesome, man, that's great. So let me go ahead and start the recording now, and I'm going to go ahead and pull this one up. Oh, I think I see it here. And while he's pulling that up — everybody at home, once you go through this, reach out to Justin, give him some love somehow, like his stuff, comment and share his stuff. The value we're getting here is just off the charts.
