Welcome back. Good to have you back. Who's having a good time so far? Raise your hand. Woo!
Okay. That's right. Now we're getting into the next step. Today we're going to be just outlining what is it we need to do to get massive results, and we're going to bring up a man who has had incredible results. David, I watched.
Sometimes I get people ask me if David's stories about being homeless are real. I've known him a long time. Like, Dave, you were, like, you know, I was, what, six when you were born. So I've known him since six. We grew up in a middle class family.
I watched Dave go to college. I watched Dave flunk out of college. That's a true story. I watched him. Hey, come on up.
Huh? Come on up. You hid that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They sent me a report card or whatever, and I got it before my parents did, and I opened it so you can see, and then I put a black marker through the F's.
So it just looked like lines on the page. Oh, yeah? There you go. So I watched him flunk out of college. I'm not sure if Dad knows that still.
Oh, yeah. Well, now he knows, right? Now he knows. But, hey, Dad. We love you.
I watched him when you came back from your LDS mission, and you lived in my living room for, like, I don't know, however long that was, six months or something like that. That wasn't really homeless. That was just didn't have his own place. Can we shut the door over there? Yeah, we got the air conditioner going.
Then I watched him go to Hawaii, and I watched him completely collapse out and end up homeless, and I watched him rise out of the dust to now more than, what, $190 million? That's awesome. More than $190 million in sales. So this is a man who's gone right from the bottom all the way up to the tip top, and he's going to show you some awesome stuff on how to get your goals and how to accomplish. So if you're excited to hear David, go ahead and give him a big round of applause.
All right, so what I'm going to do, actually, I'm going to reverse the order here, and I've got the computer up here, actually, for part of this section. I want to show everybody some things that probably nobody can show you, that I know nobody can show you. I want to show you guys some numbers and some stuff that we've been doing, and to start that, though, before, I want to go back and say, do we have markers that I could write on the board with? Where are those? We could bring markers up.
What I want to spend some time on, actually, is what I think actually comes next after what Will was talking about, which he was talking about how to set goals and outcomes, right? And the next step after that is understanding what resources you have available to start your business or grow fast, right? Because what I want everybody here and everybody online to understand, what this really is, what you're really watching, this event, and I know they've probably explained it, but it's being turned into a couple of different products, and the purpose of these is to help you guys get into momentum fast, right? Because when you're starting, let me briefly describe what happened to me in 2009, originally, and then I did it at a bigger scale in 2011, and that's what I'm doing again right now, which is creating momentum, right? And momentum takes about three months to initiate, and maybe six months more after that, that's more sustained kind of energy to make it go, and then it's just optimizing things, right?
But initially, when you're creating momentum, here's actually what happens is, if you're on a growth chart or something like this, and you're starting a business, it looks like nothing is happening for a long time, and it still looks like nothing's happening when it's like this, and it still looks like nothing's happening right about there, but right about here, the next doubling will happen, right? It'll go like this, and then it'll do it again, right? And so when you're in the initial stages of building something like this, it can be frustrating, especially for new people, and actually, for the older people too, right? And so it's like you've got to do it again, right? But in the initial phases of momentum, it feels like there's just like nothing, and it's unbelievably frustrating if you don't know what's going on, right?
And so this product is really there to teach you how to do that. It does not take any more than 90 days to build a gigantic business if you're brand new. It just doesn't, ever. So 2009, Will says, you know, I'm homeless. We track me back in the chart.
I'm going to go a little bit before that, right, 2009 in August time. I've got photos of this, and I'm not going to show you these on my computer because it'll take me too long to look them up. And sorry for my voice, by the way. I'm a little bit sick. I've got actually the weirdest, most counterintuitive thing ever.
I've got vinegar, oil, and salt, right? And this is because John Cranston told me about two years ago, he's like, if you lose your voice, eat Lay's potato chips, right? And I was like, that does not sound like that would work. That just sounds like I have potato chips in my throat, right? But I actually saw somebody like eat Lay's potato chips and they're losing their voice.
I'm not doing a commercial for Lay's potato chips, by the way, because I actually just have oil and salt. But then his voice changed, right? And it's the oil and the salt and the vinegar, right? And so if you do that, if you're losing your voice, then it'll at least keep me able to talk, even if I sound like a little bit of a monster or something, for another day, which I'm cool with, right? So August 2009, I'm living in a van, right?
Move up to Alaska, and that was like mid-August I moved to Alaska, right? So then I'm in AK, right? Which is like, you want to just kill everyone, you know what I mean? And you're like, ahhh, right? It's like .0001 cents per hour is what I make, right?
So it seems like there's nothing. It's like nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing. But I decide not to quit. And then it seems like something's happening, but it doesn't seem really that significant, but it's working, right? And that's where things start getting real interesting.
Because I was just doing the same thing, but the same thing that was really frustrating for my first 15 days for sure, and I'm almost dying the next 30 days, right? But then, the fun thing happens, right? The fun thing happens. So I jump to here, right? And then, I'm getting so much results.
The company, I said, no, this is me, right? So then they take me and they put me in front of everybody, right? And let me sell something, which they should have never let me do that. Because after that, I made chaos, right? But then what happened is that I go from here, I jump, right?
So this is around day 80. So my 80th day, I made more than the whole previous 79, right? And all of a sudden, that $15 isn't so frustrating, you know what I mean? But if you don't know that, and you're looking at something, and you just, this is the problem. It takes way more energy here than it does here, right?
So here, it feels like you're getting paid for nothing, but you're just getting paid for this first part here. Does that make sense? Yeah. That's what momentum does, right? So that's the first time I did it.
It was in, I think, October. And there's no story like this I've ever ran into, because I have never met another person who made that much money with no paid traffic, off low-ticket stuff, that paid low commissions with no downline commissions, right? I'm an alien, a little bit, right? But I'm going to talk about this. I'm going to talk about how to do this.
But really, this income was almost all generated here. I almost didn't need to do nothing, right? So that's the first time. Second time, right, is like here. And then we're going to get into resources.
So this is 2011, when I decided to start Power Report. I'm not getting into that whole story right now, because I just want to teach you guys some stuff. So do it again, right? This is what happened. Actually, at the beginning of the year, 2011, I had a vision to start this company, around January.
And I started working on it, right, immediately. The problem is, nothing was happening at all. It was like I was trying to do stuff, and nothing would happen. I was trying to find software that could do it, and nothing would happen. I didn't even know.
And I was, like, retarded at the time. I didn't even know what an SSL certificate was, Tracy. I mean, that's like stuff that people usually learn before they even, like, blog. You know, they're going through all the courses, and everything they need to know to be a Ph.D. coder, plus a salesperson, plus a marketer, plus a blogger, plus I'm going to do SEO, right?
And then it's like four years later, oh, dang, they changed it. I need to go back to school, right? So, like, I'm here. I'm trying to figure out how to, like, first, I'm trying to find MLM software. But none of them can do the comp plan I want, right?
Then I finally find the software. And I talk to this guy who's, like, an alcoholic, who's selling it, who kind of pretends he built it. But he didn't build it. He just got some rights to sell it. And it doesn't work unless he codes it right.
But he doesn't know how to code. So he sells us this thing. I'm like, I want to sell it like this, like this, like this. He's like, oh, you can't do that. That'll break the servers, right?
But he's just drunk all the time. And I think he immediately spent our money on booze, and then never built anything, right? So it was like, I go back, and it's like January, right? I'm like working, working, working, working, working, and nobody knows about it, right? And then all of a sudden, I get, and I do a Costa Rica event.
When was that, August 1? I sound like Marge Simpson, don't I? All right, I get to, like, August. I do a Costa Rica event, right? And then, right, we're just like, forget it.
I'm going to launch on this day. Now, there's no logical reason for that. But I just made all the sales videos, made all the membership site videos, made websites. But none of it worked. So then I'm working, working, working, working, working.
We get to October. And then I do a couple months of promotion on conference calls to get this event. And it's like, it seems like nothing's happened. Actually, there's no income generated here. So this is literally a little bit different.
It's like zero income from it, just spending money. And then it's all of a sudden, all the people show up at this event in October. And one week, we do, like, quarter million dollars in sales in pre-launch. Now, this is the fun one here. This one took a little bit longer because of dumb banks and what happened.
Actually, it was dumb me. I can't blame the banks. It was more like I didn't know how banks worked and why they wouldn't let my site that had no explanation of what the products were do a merchant account. I'm like, well, yeah, they have products. They see them when they buy.
I was like, what do you want? So in any case, so I get in here. There's just certain things that normal people do in business school or whatever, right? And so we get here, and then it's like quarter million in sales in a week. But the site's not live.
Just paper order forms faxed in. We told people, we don't take you if you're not serious. Fax an order form in. So I have this paper stack of orders with people's credit card information in it. And I'm trying to put it in the site.
It won't work. And then all of a sudden, like, everybody around wants to quit because it's like the coder quit. There's this girl there that's not really a coder trying to fix the sales page. She can't get the sales video centered. That's how good of a coder she was, John.
She couldn't move it from there to there. She couldn't make the button change positions. You know what I mean? And she didn't know that there was no SSL certificate on the site either, which, great coder. But she's a good friend of mine.
She's cool, right? Anyway, so it's like, ah. So then I start looking for the PHP code on the site for storing a photo of it. And then I find a phone number from this coder in Norway who wrote the software who actually knows how it works. So I call this guy in the middle of the night.
And he says he'll have my site up in like two hours, which he did, except for there's still no SSL certificate because he didn't know it said either. Because he goes, all right, it's ready. And I was like, dude, I've been working on that since January. He's like, yeah, right. I try to process the order as we go through it.
And I said, the order's not working. He's like, what are you talking about? It should work. And he looks at it. He pauses for like a minute.
He's like, there's no SSL certificate on this site. Like, what's that? I had never known what that was because I'm always selling other people's stuff. And you don't need to know that to sell stuff. So in any case, he fixes that.
And then we go out. And it took me another three months to get the processing live. And had I known that at the beginning, that never would have happened. I could have done that in a different way. But anyways, it goes like this.
Three months, cycle repeats. But we're more like here because people have their own processing. But then we get it live. And here's what happens to our volume. Our volume doubles every three months for two years straight.
It goes like this. Three months. Next three months. Next three months. Like that.
That looks really bizarre if you don't know this, right? But that's what momentum is. 1 times 1 is not very much. Well, the double 1 is 2, 4, 8. It's not very much.
16, 32, 64, 128, 254, 508, 1,012. 2,024. Now it starts getting nasty. So my point is that when you're starting, when the things I'm going to tell you, when you're starting them, understand what's happening. And I'm going to show you this and what we're doing now after we go through this section.
So we've got goals. What we're doing is work. And I'm going to show you guys. I'm going to show all of you on the internet. And I'm going to show you how.
But now we're back to I'm living in a van, and I have nothing. So on the outside, it appears I have nothing to start a business. I have no resources. That's what it looks like. But I do have resources.
I do have resources. And so the next step when you're setting a goal is to define what resources you have available to hit that goal. And so when you're building a business here, when you're wanting to create momentum, you've got things that you need, and then you've got ways of getting them. So a list of resources is a way of getting the things that you need or want. And if you think you don't have resources, and I hear people doing this all the time, and I was taught not to do this a long time ago, I still do it.
But I hear people saying things like, I don't have money. Oh, I can't buy that upgrade because then I won't be able to pay my rent in a month. Oh, I can't do that because I've got this other bill. And if I don't know what I'd do if I wasn't watching that, I don't know what I'd do. So in any case, everybody has resources.
So with me, what were my resources? Well, I didn't have money. I didn't have a home. I didn't have a nice computer. I didn't have a nice camera.
I didn't have a teleprompter. I didn't have a team. I had no business degrees. I didn't know what an SSL certificate was. So that seems like, oh, yeah, nothing.
I had time. What's a homeless man got? He's got time. I had a burning desire. I had a lot of experience selling stuff.
I was good at selling. Right? That's a resource by itself, isn't it? Right? I loved to learn.
And you add all that stuff up by itself, and I have this next bit here, which is just energy and a willpower. And I actually get that because I have willpower. So, right? But I had a willpower, and I am one of the most, like, unbreakable people on the planet. You know what I mean?
I'm like, in life, I'm like Rocky, you know? I just don't stop trying stuff. Right? And so, like, and I had a lot of experience in the home business industry, even though that experience was failure. But I had a willpower.
I had a willpower. Even though that experience was failure, you could look at failure in two ways. One, you could look at it as, oh, poor, poor me, which is what most people do. And another way you could look at it is, I've got all these great stories. Right?
So I had the most weird stories of failing of anybody. And people love hearing that because they're like, I wouldn't even try something that dumb. You know? So I had lots of resources. I had a mom who would lend me money.
I had my parents' internet connection to use. That gave me food to eat. Right? I couldn't afford coffee, so I bought caffeine powder and would put it in water. So I had caffeine.
And these two things combined with my mom's money that she lent me and the internet to use gave me $158 to buy a used computer off eBay, $150 towards a computer, and $8 for a webcam, and then I had a couple hundred bucks to buy a business office area. Now, that does not seem like much. And it's not. But this combined with this, it's all you need, right? And see, I won't listen to people when they tell me something won't work.
And I'm frustrated about it. I'm frustrated about it. If somebody's like, I don't think that'll work, I'll be like, OK, we're going to do it this way. But I don't think we're going to do it this way anyway. And I'll just continue to try it until I make it work.
And it does. That's the funny thing, right? I did not buy a Mac. I didn't buy a nice PC. I had a $150 computer with an $8 used webcam that took blurry videos, and bad clothes, and I smelled bad.
So how do you make a list of resources? What are some things that you've got? Let's pass a microphone around, and let's brainstorm this. And the assignment is, guys, today, if you're watching this live, tonight I want all of you, as you're setting goals, to make a list of the resources you have to hit those goals. I've got to drink some more vinegar juice here.
This is the weirdest thing ever, isn't it? That's weird, really weird. Hello? See, it changed, didn't it? My voice just changed a little.
That's so bizarre. Anyways, it'll go weird again. It does work but like, yeah, that's not the funnest thing in the world to do. So what are some resources that we have to build a business? Let's pass a microphone around, get some feedback, maybe from the leaders, and then pass it around back, of course.
So when we started, we had MySpace as a social media platform, right? And we had a bunch of people hitting MySpace and stuff like that. You guys are lucky, you don't have to deal with MySpace. You have Facebook, right? When we were building, what kind of cell phones did we use?
I didn't have a phone. Right? I mean, think about this. Everyone here has a smartphone now, with like data and high speed. Back then, we just didn't have video cameras, selfies, the ability to do what we do now, because of being able to get autoresponders, like dirt cheap.
Like before, it was like ridiculous. Hosting for blogs that we can use now with Klaatu is like dirt cheap from before. I mean, I don't know how many times you got hacked on your WordPress, but I got hacked multiple times. Some Russian group comes in, and what do you do? I got hacked by Anonymous.
Anonymous hacked you? Yeah, so I haven't heard of anything with our blogs. I mean, just all those headaches that would make someone jump off a cliff, we overcame those. Well, yeah, like here even, I'm losing my voice again, right? Marjorie Simpson.
But here, it's like the stuff I had to buy to build the business I joined is the business. Right? So I don't need anything extra. That's a great point, right? You have all that stuff now.
So I had to buy all that stuff, plus the business, plus a system, plus a webinar system that I kept cancelling the trial and getting a new trial with a different credit card, so I wouldn't have to pay. Shouldn't do that. But it doesn't work in Empower. But this stuff, we have all this stuff, right? In Empower, we've got daily content sharing.
We've got email swipe. That's way better than I used to write when I was doing stuff. I didn't write stuff like that when I was doing it. I wrote interesting stuff, but not that good. Because I've grown.
We've got copywriters. We've got lots of people. We've got lots of results. We've got lots of social proof. That's stuff that we have.
I'm going to tell you the nightmare of a price problem. Right? Copy. Every time you walk by the meat place, it smells like a good deal once you visit. The ability to make a lot of money.
Large commissions. How I know what it smells like is because I smell it when I start a sandwich. I mean, just the button below and the live screen. So we have large commissions, lots of commissions. We have all the tools we need.
We have capture pages to convert. What do you have? Right? So let's get the audience maybe commenting. What do you have to build your business?
Right? What do you have? So in the room, let's ask around as well. So maybe, Bonnie, you can shout stuff out. So when we first got started, my wife Natasha and I, in this business, we were in a giant hole of debt.
We had like $800,000 of debt that we owed. That was a house in foreclosure, a business property that was also going into foreclosure that we were being sued on. We had credit cards. But as soon as you default on a mortgage, then it's like this period of time where all the credit card companies are going to just start slashing them. They're going to cut them off.
They're going to turn them off. They're going to cancel the cards. So we had two different resources that we relied on heavily, and that was family and credit. So we went to family, and we saw who can loan us some money to get this thing started. And we went through all our credit cards and said, how much available balance do we have on all these different cards?
And we managed to get all in at that time using those two resources. Now, I talk to people all the time that say, I could put that on a credit card, or I could borrow from family. But I'm afraid to do that, because what if it doesn't work? They're afraid that what if I can't pay it back? And I think that's just the wrong way to look at it.
For us, we've built a lot of different businesses, brick and mortar companies, network marketing businesses, and all of those. And the thing is, if you know from the start that you're going to just do this for real, and there isn't an option to fail at it, you're just going to do it, and you're going to do it until you're successful, then you can't fail at it. And as long as you don't quit, you'll get past that curve, past the struggle, and you'll be hitting success. So it's kind of a mindset thing. And I think a lot of people have that ability to tap into borrowing from friends or family, borrowing on credit cards, and that kind of thing.
If they really look at that stuff, you can also apply for credit cards if you don't have any, right? And I read an article in an entrepreneur magazine, I think it was about six or seven months ago, that said, 97% of all businesses that are started worldwide are started with borrowed funds. Yet so many people we talk to are afraid to borrow money to start their business. So think about that. There's nothing wrong with borrowing money to get a business started, as long as you're taking it seriously.
Yeah, this is not something that you do to get a return on an investment. I know people that run phone rooms and stuff, and they sell opportunity, and people are like, well, how fast can I see a return on my investment? And the salespeople look around, make sure that their call's not being recorded, and they're like, well, you can expect a 200% return in the next month or two. All the time, right? That's why FD puts an FDC, right?
Well, Will, did you get loans to go to learn hypnosis and NLP and coaching? Yeah, loans for business school. So if you're going to do it. Yeah, yeah, $150,000 in loans to learn your trade. So $100,000 in school debt, and $150,000 in.
So Will spent six figures on that. So like, and what does the doctor spend, right? What does the doctor spend? Yeah, so when you look at this, there's ways of creating resources. But if you're going to take it seriously, right?
For me, it's like, the cool thing is there's this great book called The Power of Broke. I can't remember the author in there. But when you're broke, it's like, whatever. Might as well give it a go and put all my heart into it, you know what I mean? There's like a different energy.
Because you've got nothing to lose, you know? There's a lady that I was talking to in the last event, and she was like, should I buy this? And I was like, well, do you have money? Well, I'm a million dollars in debt. I can't pay that anyway, so if I add five, not that big of a deal, right?
Now, you might think that it's funny, right? But that's true. It's like, when you've got nothing, that's a resource. I've got nothing to lose. It's a resource, right?
What other resources do you have? Do you have people you know? What are some things people in the comments say? Oh, we have a microphone? Emily says creativity, marketing knowledge, social media presence, content, and blogs, and her husband's strategy.
Good stuff, right? We've got resources. What about people you know? What can people you know be a resource for? Ideas?
I've never heard of that, but. 30 minutes. I said airline miles, and that's how we made it to Austin, was on airline miles. So you don't use your airline miles unless you really, really have to. And I have miles expiring all the time, so if you have a family member that could use those.
So you guys made it for them using somebody's miles? No, they were our miles. They were your miles? They were our miles, but you could borrow some of them. Well, I definitely wanted to be around us.
That was very enjoyable. So just tell me which ones, whenever you want, just hop in, hop out. From a monetary standpoint, I sold stuff. I just had stuff from an old DJ business that I just said, you know what, I need to sell some of this gear. This is all about creating a business from a resource perspective right now?
And a farm, yeah, on the farm. Resources could be anything. Knowledge, people, money. Playing with the cows. It's that joke, it's that joke.
What else? And the thing that you were saying to me was probably the biggest resource was like not having another option. You know, it's just kind of like part of the shift. We were already at rock bottom. There was nothing else to do.
No options. Does it smear? That's a big resource, yes. No option. Badly?
Yes, but if you wait like 10 seconds, it's dry and there's no smear. You know, and there's good choices there. But if your fingers are wet. Did you respond on the launch group bonus? No, I didn't.
It could be risky. Tam posted it on the first. I have it. It says the comment. It says safe is the new risky.
Safe equals broke. You don't need to turn on smart ship until we have two customers, though. So for me, I'm like, burn the bridges, need some gasoline. Right? Anybody else?
So is this mainly like, if people have time, but you're a pro, right? Now, most of us are adults. Everyone considers themselves an adult, right? You're an adult. And if you have time, I mean, if you just wrote down 50 things that come to tuck your head that people would pay for.
Number one, walk someone's dog. Jess, how much was that 11-year-old getting paid for babysitting per hour? No. All 11-year-old house kids. The other one that was getting paid, she was making more than her mom, that one.
It was like 20 bucks an hour or something. And the mom was like, I think my daughter, who's in sixth grade, is actually making more than me per hour. But like, couldn't you go babysit someone's kids? I mean, really? Is it really that important to go watch Netflix?
Seriously. You know what I mean? So people got resourceful. Mow people's lawns. Kick up people's mail.
House sits. Like, no matter what it is, if you're resourceful enough, you have an able body, go do it. If you have an able mind, go tutor. You can get paid 25 bucks an hour to go tutor some high school kids who don't know anything about algebra. Whatever it is, whatever floats your boat, you can definitely do it.
But some people are so entitled. I talk to Jess about this all the time. I'm like, maybe y'all need Asian parents to just beat y'all into it. You know what I mean? Like, to me, it makes no sense.
You got time. You got effort. You will make some money because you will do it. You just go do it. So find what you need to do.
Ask the people who have resources. Maybe put a loan out for them and say, hey, I'll mow your lawn for the next six months. Whatever it is. And get the education you need. Because I didn't go to college for free.
I didn't get a scholarship. I wasn't that smart. So I had college debt. My dad paid for it. But I'm working hard so my kids never have to pay for it.
So you have to just go out and just make it happen. So anyone who complains about that, dude, just go down the street, talk to your neighbor, and see what you can do around the house. Wash their dishes. Because my wife won't let me have a maid to wash my dishes. It's a different story.
But just be resourceful, guys. I mean, we're talking about we're giving you access to this life to physically get access to having an ability to see someone who's broke living in a van. I'm not joking. And he turns to his wife and says, because my wife won't let me have a maid to do mine. And I'm like, that is probably the worst PC I've ever seen.
But that guy makes more money than myself. So it's not really about the resources. In terms of technology, he just won't quit. He doesn't understand the word quit. And if you fight someone like Rocky, that's the dude you don't want to fight.
Oh, no, no, no. That's the dude you don't want to fight. The guy who wants to protect his face, I'll fight that guy. But the guy who's like, I don't give a crap, or I don't care. I'm going to make it happen.
That's the guy you will put all your money on. That guy will make it happen. For sure. They will. Tell them that story about that guy in Africa.
The Africa guy. I want you guys to listen to the story. Some of you have probably heard it. Some of you probably haven't heard it. This is a good story.
There's a guy who hit me up on Facebook. And I don't know if you guys ever get hit up for like, anybody ever been proposed to on Facebook? I'm not the only one. But someone who doesn't know you. I'm like, I don't know.
There was a six-month stretch where I got proposed to. I don't know, about every two or three days, I was like, what is going on? Who here has been hit up for money on Facebook? Like, when they don't know who you are. It's like, friend request.
You're connected to some people. You look at them. They look kind of normal. You say yes. And then, boom.
It's like, not even hello. It's like, I need 50 bucks. And you're like, who are you? You know what I mean? So this guy asked me for like a couple hundred bucks.
I'd have to go through the, I'd have to go through the, I've got my phone in my pocket here, the thread to see exactly how much it was. He asked me for a hundred bucks. And my memory is he wanted to start a watermelon farm. And he lived in Kenya, Africa. And so I told him no.
I didn't block him, which I sometimes do. I sometimes just like, thank you. But I just said, no, I'm not going to give you money. But if you're, I will, I will give you some feedback. And he says, I'm motivated.
Tell me what to do. I'll do it. And I think he was still secretly thinking that if I told him what to do, that he could get money from me. But I just told him, I'm not going to give you any money straight up. But if you do what I tell you to do, you are going to find a way to get the money that you need.
So he was making, my memory is he was making less than a dollar a day at the time. So he needed like 200 bucks to buy it, to start this watermelon farm. And for him, that was like almost a full year's worth of wages. And he was trying to support family. And on a dollar a day, if you can even imagine.
And so I said, here's what you do. You write down a list of a hundred ways that you can get that $200. And you don't stop. I said, number one, you're going to think of the first five things that you've been doing. You can hit up people on Facebook.
You hit up me. Maybe somebody will give you money. That's fine. You can do the other five things that you know about. You can save a little bit of money from your work.
You can ask a relative. You can do this. You can do that. But I said, you keep on going. At some point, you're going to blank out.
And you're probably going to come up with a really bad idea. Who knows what I'm talking about? Like really bad idea. Like you have two kidneys. You should not sell one.
Like I'm just saying. So I said, you're going to come up with some bad ideas. Acknowledge the ideas. Don't let that stop you. Don't do them.
Don't do anything illegal. Don't do anything dishonest. Don't do anything immoral. But acknowledge that the ideas come in your head so you free up your mental space. And then keep going until you get to a hundred ideas.
It's an open book test. You can go out and you can talk to anybody that you know. But you keep on going until you have a hundred ideas. And I said, when you're done with that, you look through those hundred ideas. You're not looking for the hundred.
You're looking for one. You're looking for one idea that will actually work. Now, I heard from him from time to time. But it was mainly him just like commenting on stuff. I didn't know anything about him for about 18 months.
18 months later, he sent me, or maybe it's two years. But 18 months to two years later, he sends me a message. And he says, I wanted to thank you. And I was like, for what? And he's like, that was the best advice I've ever gotten.
Have you heard of Wikibuy? And he says, I am now worth $10 million. Apparently. Watermelon farm guy. Yeah.
It'll help you find prices that are better than any of them. Which I think was penny money. So I think it was like four to six in US dollars. That's what my memory serves me as like. It was several million dollars in US money.
I was like, how did you do that? And he goes, well, I started by buying my watermelon farm. And then I sold that. And I used that money to start a trucking business. And I have taken the trucking business to the level of a trucking empire.
And he goes, I am now working on the next level. And here's what I think. I think if a guy in Kenya can go from a dollar a day, can't buy a $200 watermelon farm, to multi-millionaire in like two years, what can you do? Yeah. Cyrus Kyde.
Love you, brother. That's good stuff. Good man. So it's, again, the power of broke, right? If you don't have $100 for a watermelon farm, it's like you ain't got nothing to lose.
There's nothing to lose, right? And there's a lot of resources everybody has. And if being broke is something that you are, being broke is a resource, right? Broke, there's a whole book on that, The Power of Broke. And it's true.
Why are there so many rags to riches stories? It's because when you're in the rags, you work harder. You know what I mean? When you don't have all the food you want, when you can't afford a house, or you can't afford your rent payment coming up, you're like, oh, I'm getting a cell, right? I'll see you guys, right?
Here's the thing, and this is everybody in the live stream, I'm already here, they're not excuse makers anyways, but. I have all the money I want, but I have no time to use it. Make a commitment. Every time you make an excuse, what you're doing is just making up something that's not true about yourself, that's less than you are, about why you can't do something that you actually can't do, right? There's that old thing that's an acronym, it's like fear is a false evidence appearing real that you make up, really, as soon as you add to that, right?
Because if you're gonna make something up, why not make up something like, oh yeah, I'm gonna be rich for sure, you know? Because there's a belief difference, right? Belief is a resource. So what I want you to do, this is the assignment today, as you're, before you go to sleep, I want you to take that outcome worksheet, and this is a serious thing, I'm gonna tell a story for everybody on the live stream today, okay? I did a, I think Lawrence was there, was there that thing when I made everybody fill out that worksheet before they came back the next day?
So we did a thing for our personally enrolled people in Miami back in 2013, I think, and what we said to people was, we said, here's a form that you have to complete before you come back, and we were gonna start the next day, I think, at 10 in the morning, right? And there was no way to complete that form in less than like five hours. And we ended at midnight, right? So we talked till midnight, and we said, if you don't complete it, we won't let you in, right? Now I can't do that because you're on a live stream, I can't tell, right?
But you know what happened? There was people that stayed up all night long filling that form out, it was like 10 pages. But because that happened, that whole group of people went to the next level, right? And so, here's my challenge for all of you on here, and also in the room, too. Tonight, go through that outcome thing that we're giving you for well, and then, once you're clear, I want you to take a list and say, what are 100 ways I can make that happen, right?
And also, this is something useful. Write out a list of things you don't have yet, right? And this is something people ignore, but say, I don't have these yet, don't say, I'm this and I'm that, right? Because if you say, I don't have it yet, you're assuming you're going to have it. Now here's an interesting thing.
I did that the first time, I think, in 2006, 2007. No, no, no, no, no, it was 2009. And three or four months later, I had every one of those things, right? And it just all appeared because I started looking for it. So what are things that you need?
Maybe you're like, well, I don't have $5,000 yet, but I'm going to have it by Monday, how am I going to get it to start my business? Make a list, right? And when you're clear on that, you're ready to really build, right? You have an outcome, you have a burning desire, and you have a clear vision, and you know how to get there, right? Because I'll tell you something, sometimes less resources is better, right?
I have spent before half a million dollars on a marketing campaign that caused chaos. No more, I don't even want to tell you how much. And I've spent $5,000 on something or nothing on something else. Nothing was the one that was actually more profitable. I just did it.
Raw, real videos, right? On a cheap computer, right? Sometimes nothing's better, right? So being broke is a resource because then you have to do it, right? But don't be shy about writing that out and figuring out a way that you're going to come up with it because there's no excuse.
You're talking to a homeless man. Are you sure about a guy in Kenya who bought a watermelon farm and now is a millionaire? Right? So that's the assignment. Outcomes and the list of resources.
Now what we're gonna do is we're gonna take a little bit, I'm gonna take like five minutes break, okay? Because I need like 15 minutes break. But we're gonna come back and I want to talk about how we're getting results on the exponential growth curve run now. I'm gonna talk about how I'm doing this and I'm gonna teach you guys what to do every day who are watching. And if you do these things every day, you will build momentum, right?
So we're gonna talk about daily action plan and what we do, right? And when you guys understand that, you're gonna understand why you're seeing what you're seeing in my numbers. And I told you guys what happened three months ago. I was like, it will take me 90 days to do this, right? And exactly on schedule.
That's what happens. It only takes three months. So I'm gonna show you that we're gonna break down a daily action plan next. But let's take like a five minute break, is that cool? Or Will, do you want to do an energy break?
Or break? Break, let everybody have a minute to get up and move around. Cool. What else should I give you guys for today's class? Thank you sir.
We're good. Thank you sir.
