Kevin Sousa’s Facebook Chat Method: Posture, FORM, and the Philosophy of Next
Someone finally asks about your business in a Facebook chat. Your first instinct is to answer fast and hand over your link before the interest cools off. Kevin Sousa opens this late-night Q&A, a room full of women logged on well past midnight in their own time zones just to hear this, by naming that instinct as the single fastest way to kill a conversation that was actually going somewhere.
Sousa built his own results almost entirely through one-to-one chatting rather than paid advertising, and he spends this session walking a live group through exactly how he talks to strangers on Facebook, why he refuses to send his link the moment someone seems curious, and what to do about the people who go quiet on you.
Why does handing someone your link the second they show interest actually push them away?
Sousa compares it to hiring for an open position. A company president doesn’t chase candidates through the street. He tells his assistant to post the opening, and the flood of applicants gets narrowed down, interviewed, and narrowed again before he ever personally gets involved. Nobody feels like they’re being sold. Everyone feels like they’re being considered.
You want to be like the Pied Piper. And people will follow those who are hiding something from them. Or who won’t tell them yet what they have.
Chatting works the same way, in his experience. Answer a business question directly and instantly, and you’ve killed your own posture. Say instead that you have an opening but aren’t sure yet whether it’s a fit, and the same person leans in harder. He’s blunt that a lot of people worry this is manipulative. It isn’t, in his framing. It’s simply refusing to hand out your time and your opportunity to anyone who asks, the same restraint you’d expect from someone actually running a business instead of begging for signups.
What are you supposed to actually talk about in a Facebook chat?
Sousa teaches a decades-old structure he calls FORM: family, occupation, recreation, and eventually money, though never rigidly in that order. He starts with occupation because it’s the least invasive question you can ask a stranger, then follows with open-ended questions instead of a checklist. How long have you done that? What made you get into it? What do you do for fun, and why don’t you do more of it?
Every honest answer becomes something he can use later, a detail, a complaint, a dissatisfaction worth remembering. He describes this directly as building “arrows in your quiver” for the moment a real opening in the conversation actually appears. The goal of the whole conversation, he insists, was never to collect a lead. It’s to find out whether the two of you have what he calls a genuine heart match, and a lot of people ask for the sale far too early because they never let that part happen first.
What do you do when someone stops answering you back?
One attendee, Nadia, asks the question everyone in the room is quietly carrying. She’s followed up with people who watched the video and simply went silent, and she wants to know how long she’s supposed to keep circling back before it starts to feel desperate. Sousa’s answer is immediate and short: The philosophy of next.
Stop chasing the ones who’ve gone cold and move to the next conversation, because a business built on chatting only works if you always have several conversations warming at once instead of one you’re emotionally attached to. He tracks the ones still in motion with nothing fancier than a notepad or a stack of index cards, a name and a date, so following up never depends on memory alone. When another attendee, Miguel, explains he’s juggling several businesses and barely has time to chat live, Sousa’s fix is just as plain: tell people upfront that your replies will be slower, and let them decide if that’s still worth their time. Most people respect the honesty more than they’d ever admit.
None of this requires spending on ads, which is exactly why Sousa built his following through conversations he could have anywhere he had a phone and a few free minutes. The posture, the questions, and the discipline to walk away from silence are the whole system.

Practicality dictates that everyone's results will vary, as we are all unique and different. Basically, it takes hard work to make a substantial income in this business, and some people will make no money at all. The earnings of an Empower Network affiliate will be 100% dependent upon their skills, work effort, commitment, leadership capabilities, and market conditions. Common sense would suggest that in most opportunities, one would find exceptional individuals performing well above average, while others perform under the average.
Empower Network does not guarantee any level of income or your success. The average affiliate can expect to earn less than $100. To see our full income disclosure, please visit our website at www.empowernetwork.com forward slash income. Yeah, absolutely.
I'm really happy you guys all showed the initiative to come out today. And Kevin, of course, for being so gracious to provide this training for us tonight as an extra bonus. You know, he's not getting anything out of it. He's not getting anything out of this except helping all of you guys.
So just keep that in mind and use him to your full advantage. But Kevin, we're really appreciative of you having you here, and I'm really looking forward to today's training. So I won't take up too much of your time. You go for it.
Okay, well, thank you very much for having me. And I am honored that William Wood and Empower Network made the decision to allow me to be able to give. You know, giving is one of the most selfish acts in the world, folks. Did you know that?
Giving is one of the most selfish acts in the world, because I'll tell you what, there's nothing I like better than the look on someone's face when you give them something. And that's selfish, isn't it? And giving training on something that I've been successful with is something that I've always loved to do ever since I jumped online in the year 2000. And, of course, I've come a long way since the year 2000.
I barely knew how to turn on my computer 16 years ago, but now I can build websites and build businesses online, so I've come a long way, baby. Chatting on Facebook is the topic, and what I want to do before we get into Q&A is I think we have about 90 minutes here, right, Vanessa, roughly? Okay. What I want to do is I want to kind of give you kind of a platform basic background.
I want to talk to you about the power of Facebook chat, and what that's going to do is it's going to give you actually a lot of answers to a lot of your questions, even before you ask them. Because I want to be able to address everybody's questions as much as I possibly can during this short 90-minute period, because it is short based upon how many people we have here, and that's why we limited it to the number that we limited it to. And so in order to be able to accommodate that, I wanted to be able to give you a little bit of time.
Okay. So I want to give you a little bit of time. Okay. So I want to give you a whole background on Facebook chat, some really good nuts and bolts details that you probably already saw me talk about in some of my training videos, but that will answer some of your questions so that when we get to the Q&A portion of this, that, you know, we can flow smoothly and give everybody a chance to at least have one or two questions answered before we're done.
Okay. So is that all right with you guys or gals? Is there one guy here? Yeah.
Two guys. Two guys. So we have James Brown and Brian Greener here. The rest of you are gals.
Okay. Here we go. Chatting in Facebook. You know, the first thing you want to consider when you're chatting in Facebook are your friends and followers.
Now, there's a real cool technique that I've taught that works very well to build your friends list in Facebook. The reason why we have people who chat in Facebook for prospecting is because sometimes we don't have the funds to advertise. And so it's a lot more, a lot easier to use a free method of Facebook chatting than it is to reach in our pockets for money that isn't there. And, but don't get me wrong.
Even people who can afford to pay for advertising still love to chat in Facebook and have that one-to-one interaction. And that's me. I don't have to chat in Facebook. I can just pay for advertising and not worry about it.
But I enjoy it, which is why I do it, because I love people. And a great technique, I'm going to come right out the gate with one, to increase your friends list, it's real simple. If you go in your Facebook, and please, by the way, folks, if you don't mind, try not to multitask during this, because I really want your full attention on what we're talking about. If you go into your Facebook and you have two sections, you have your own place with your own name, your own Facebook profile, if you will, where all your posts are going to be shared.
Okay. And then you have the post of all your friends on your home page where they all show up. If you go to home and you just slowly scroll down, when you first jump on Facebook during the day, you can do it throughout the day or whatever, you're going to notice that friends are commenting on other people's posts. Okay.
And so let's say you have a friend's post. Let's say you have a friend named Mary. And Mary posted something really cool. And she's getting a lot of engagement.
Lots of comments, lots of likes, lots of shares. But pay attention to the comments. And here's why. If you can find a comment that is nice, it's genuine, it's sincere, or maybe it's funny, or maybe it's, you know, creative, the way they made their comment, you can actually make a comment or reply back to the person who made that creative, funny, touching, heartwarming comment.
And compliment them, they're not on your friends list, they're on their friends list, and say, you know, that was a really nice thing to say, Charlie, about Mary's post or whatever, and boy, the world needs more people like you, I'd love to connect, let's send me a friend request, please. Now, if you do that one little technique and you compliment someone's comment on a post of a friend of yours, you're going to get a lot of engagement. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Okay. that and they'll think you're doing suspicious activity and they'll warn you and eventually block you from requesting friends and if you keep doing it, they'll shut you down, okay? But compliment commenters on friends' posts and follow up with, hey, I always love to associate with positive people, would you mind sending me a friend request? See, you can get a hundred friend requests a day.
You just can't friend request a hundred people a day, see? So that's a nice little tip, a technique to help you increase your friends list and work that in with what you're doing. You don't have to sit there all day scrolling for ten hours just to find that one positive comment that you want to throw a reply to but do it in a reply to them, not as another comment on the post. That's important because they'll see it.
And if you can, tag them. Tag them, not always because they're not on your friends list but sometimes you can, okay? And compliment them and ask them to friend request you. That's just one little tidbit right there, okay?
The other thing that you need is you need to have your Facebook positioned for maximum friends and followers. As you guys know, I have 5,000 friends and 64,500 some odd followers and there's a reason for that. Mostly because of my video posts. Many of my videos started going viral a few years ago and when that happened I put together a Facebook course which I'm sure most of you have that course.
It's free. I used to sell it but now I give it away free to everybody in the world to be able to learn how to post properly in Facebook. When you post properly in Facebook versus improperly, you're setting yourself up for success. You're setting yourself up to share your stuff.
Now this webinar is not how to post in Facebook so I'm not going to get into those details and if you don't have my free course, I think most of you are friends of mine in Facebook. You can ask me for that course but I'm going to respectfully ask you one question before I continue. Please don't ask me to help you with one-on-one chats in Facebook, okay? And the reason for that is because I work with so many people in my own personal team right now.
That. If. If you're on my personal team and you're asking me questions about, you know, chatting in Facebook, if I get 50 people that do that in a day, I'm sure you can understand being if you were in the same position that really it isn't conducive to you building your own business. So that's why we're having this session and that's why I will put in some of my training videos for the Breakthrough Team so that you can gain that knowledge without having to, you know, personally ask the questions one-on-one.
So anyway. I just wanted to cover that. So chatting in Facebook, you know, this is so basic and so many people when they start to chat they fall away from this and they don't do this. FORM.
Now all of you have watched my videos on FORM. F-O-R-M. I learned F-O-R-M, the acronym FORM, almost 40 years ago, okay? When I learned how to prospect in the home-based business profession.
Talking to people about their family and their occupation and their recreation and money and message, F-O-R-M, and not necessarily in that order. What I usually do is talk to people about their occupation first because it's the least obtrusive, you know, people don't get cautious when you say, hey, what do you do for it? Whereas people could become cautious if you go, hey, you got a family? How many kids you got?
You know, whoa, you know, let's establish a relationship. So F-O-R-M doesn't mean in that order, okay? It simply means those are the kind of keys you want to touch on when you're building a relationship in the conversation. The purpose of the conversation is not to get a lead.
Whoa, that's probably surprising to hear from me. It's not. The purpose of the conversation is to sift through. It's not to get a job.
It's not to get a job. It's not to have several conversations until you identify somebody that you and they both are connecting heart to heart. We talked about this when Will did an interview with me and he really dug and dug to find out the reasons why I'm chatting. And you want a heart match is what we ended up labeling it as with people.
You want to match hearts and, you know, it is so easy and because the majority of this meeting is women, women can relate to this more than men can, okay, it's just the way women are. And, you know, heart matching. You know when, you know, the relationship is there. You just feel it in your heart that, oh, this is great.
This is what a nice person I'm speaking with here and vice versa. And there's just something in the air that tells you that you have a nice relationship with the person you're chatting with. And so I always lead with. Okay.
You know, another reiteration of a compliment to them, but I always lead with, so tell me, what do you do? What do you do for work? And if they say, well, I'm a stay at home mom. And if you're talking to a gal, then I usually say, really, well, how does income come in the family?
If you're a stay at home mom, we know it's the husband or the significant other, right? We know that, but I always like to find that out. What do they do for work? So not just them, but what their significant other does.
And I say significant other, so I can cover all bases here because we're in the 2016. Okay. So that's important. Why?
Well, I want to find out more about what they do. I don't just say, so what do you do for work? I'm a carpenter. Great.
And so family, kids, no, how long have you been a carpenter? Why did you decide to get into that profession? Who? What?
When? Where? How? And why?
Those are open-ended questions that you want to ask people when you find out their family occupation and recreation, okay, on the FOR part of the form. You want to find out how long have you been doing that? No kidding. What?
Tell me, I'm interested. What ever got you to decide to get involved in that profession? Why is that? You must have a good reason for that.
Why? Because you're going to get them to chat with you. And let them talk. There's a why, right?
When you ask open-ended questions like that versus closed-ended, you're going to get them to chat. You want them to chat with you. You don't want to be the interrogator either. What do you do for work?
I'm a beautician, part-time. No kidding. How long have you been doing that? A couple of years.
Awesome. Well, here's what I do, and offer them back what you do for a living so it doesn't look like you're an interrogator. It doesn't look like you're interrogating them. And that's why there should be a back-and-forth, back-and-forth in the chat versus, hey, what do you do?
How many kids you got in your family? How long have you been married? Like you're shooting off questions, F-O-R-M. Chatting is an art and a science combined.
It's not just a science, okay? So you really want to become what Dale Carnegie says, genuinely interested in other people. Because when you become genuinely interested in other people, you become genuinely interested in other people based on the questions you're asking them, they will sense that, and they will open up more and more to you, okay? And so that's a vital, vital important thing.
How long have you been doing that? You must have had a good reason for deciding to get into that. Tell me why. How come?
Really? And what else have you done for work besides that? So if they say, oh, I've been at this job for a couple of years, well, let's see, you're not 20. You're like 20.
You're like 40. I don't say this to them, but I'm thinking this. So that means if you've been at that job a couple of years, duh, common sense dictates that you've done other stuff. Well, I was this and that for 10 years.
And if it's something totally different than what they do now, say, wow, why the change? How come you got away from that? And see, these are little seeds that you're going to catch. They're going to give you reasons why.
Reasons why they were dissatisfied, right? Now there's an arrow in your quiver, okay? This is actually a roll of paper towels, but consider this a quiver. And arrows in the quiver, and of course, the archmen have the quivers on their back so they can draw the arrow and shoot the arrow out of the quiver.
What you want to do during the course of your entire chat is put a whole bunch of arrows in your quiver. All right? You know, Kevin, how do I keep track of it? In the chat itself.
Because you can always review that chat later, right? And you can see hints and things about why that person might not have been satisfied with what they did in that previous job to this one that you can use later as ammunition to see if they would be open to taking a look at a way to make some extra money. And here's the thing. A lot of people think that they have to get right, you know, they have to find all these things during the conversation.
About their family and occupation. But the real goal is to finally get that question out to them as if they'd be open to looking at a way to make some money. And a lot of people ask that question way too soon. A lot of the chats that I did in November when I sponsored almost 50 people that month just by chatting, a lot of that were second and third chats with those people, not the first chat.
And don't feel like you are tied down to continue chatting and to continue it going. Sometimes I'll say, oops, hey, got to run a little in-home emergency here. No big deal. But got to run.
Let's let's chat later. Let's pick up where we left off. See ya. So it doesn't look like you're chasing them, right?
Because a lot of times you want to get in that first chat. And get it all done, wrapped up, a little bow on it. And now you get to give them your link or your lead capture page for your business. No.
Sometimes it takes two or three chats of building that relationship with that person before it makes common sense to offer them a way to make additional income. And so it needs to be natural. Chats need to be just like a natural thing. No big deal.
How's it going? Good. How you doing? Good.
Good. Good to see you again today. And sometimes my second chat is like that fast. Hey, how's it going?
How's your day going? Good. Yeah. Mine too.
Oh, just another day, huh? Yeah. Okay. Well, got to run.
Just wanted to say hi. Hi. That makes sense? You got in their face again.
But it was like, hey, how's it going? Good. You? Good.
Good. See ya. See? And you're probably wondering, how do you keep track of all this?
How do you keep track of all this? How do you keep track of all this? They're in your chat. The chat itself keeps track of it all.
You know? On the side of your chat, you just have a ton of names of different people you've chatted with. You can cherry pick by then. Okay?
So, initiate the chat with about 10 people. Just initiate it. Hi. How's it going?
Good. Hey. How's your job? How's, you know, if you already know what they do, how's the hairdressing business?
Or, you know, whatever they do. How's the, you know, how's your job? How's your job? How's your job?
How's your job? How's your job? How's your job? How's your job?
How's your job? How's your job? How's your job? How's the hairdressing business?
Or, you know, whatever they do. How's the massage business? Or whatever they do for a living. Just ask them.
How's it going? Good. Good. Yeah.
Me too. You at work now? No. I'm off today.
Oh, lucky you. I mean, that's if you're at work, you know, and you're working. You say something like that. What I can't do here is give you everything.
Nobody can give you every possibility that there is in a chat. All we can do is give you the generalities. And then you can give me the generalities. You can use common sense when chatting with people on exactly what you should be saying and when and what questions you should be asking.
But the important things are the form and the who, what, when, where, how, and why that you can ask about each section. I have three children. Oh, really? How old?
And when they give me their age, because I know the math, I'll go, oh, fourth grade, sixth grade, and ninth grade, huh? Wow, yeah. Or I might be off by a grade. Okay?
But, you know, just use your common sense. You know, if they're nine, they're probably in fifth grade or something. You know? I mean, and a lot of times I get it right, and most of the, some of the times I get it wrong, but I'm close, pretty close.
And you can even sometimes ask, who's your favorite? Well, that's not out of line. Girls ask each other that. I don't as a guy, but like a girl could ask a girl a question that a guy wouldn't ask.
You know what I mean? So, like, use your common sense on that stuff. And just be yourself. Just be you.
You know? Just be yourself. Don't try to be something you're not or be someone you're not. Because we're all individuals, and we're all special, each and every one of us.
And if you come across like you're trying to be something you're not or you're trying to chat and use words like you don't usually do, don't do that stuff. Just be yourself. And that's so important. I've found that some of the most successful chats that I've had are people that have been on my friends list for quite a while that I haven't chatted with or ever chatted with.
When you build your friends list, it's physically impossible for me to talk to 4,879 people that are on my list every single day. You can't do that. I mean, a lot of people even wonder, how can you even possibly chat? A lot of people even wonder, how can you even possibly talk to that many people?
Well, you can't. They just became friends of yours, and you accepted, and vice versa, and you moved on. But a lot of the chats with people that have been on your friends list for quite a while are very successful. Why?
Well, because they see what you're doing in Facebook. Here's what I mean. When I first avoided Facebook like the plague, when Facebook came out, I avoided it. Totally.
Why? Well, it was something new, and I just wasn't into learning something new when it first came out. But then, when I decided, okay, I'm going to sign up to Facebook, I made a decision right away, immediately, that not one person is allowed to post on my wall except me, on my profile except me. I'm the only one.
So I put only me in the settings. And in my How to Post in Facebook course, I teach this. Why? Because I want nothing but 100% positivity on my Facebook wall.
And if there's any negativity at all, it's going to come from me, and not from somebody else. Okay? And there's a reason for that. You want to show the world the positive side of you.
Somebody said something to me about that once. Somebody real close to me, when I was living in Massachusetts, and they said, Oh, Kevin. All you're doing is posting this positive stuff. I know you.
Right? And, of course, friends know you better than your Facebook people do. All right? But I said, there's a reason for that.
I want to show myself as a positive, inspiring, motivational, and entertaining guy. All right? I've sung on my wall in videos where I've actually sung with music. I've sung with music in the background.
I put on entertaining, funny, heartwarming videos on my wall. I always put positive photos and positive quotes. And sometimes I go on rants on my wall. Right?
Lots of rants you'll see on Kevin's wall. But why? Because my wall. What I don't want is my wall cluttered with even my best.
I love my sister Cheryl. Okay? I just don't want her posting on my wall. I love my sister Mary and Clem and Tim.
I just don't want them posting on my wall. I love my wife. I just don't want her posting on my wall. That's just my policy.
I'm the only one who can post on my Facebook wall because it sets you up for success. That's why. Because all your friends that you get in Facebook will see just nothing but positive, motivational, inspirational, entertaining stuff on your wall. And that attracts people to you.
That's why I have so many followers. Not because I'm such a special guy. No. It's because I've shared and they've shared enough of my positive stuff that goes around to more people who share my stuff.
And once you hit 4,600 or 800 friends, nobody can friend request you anymore. You have to pick and choose who you friend request. Then they become followers the moment they try to friend you. And that's why I have so many followers.
So all these people try to friend me. In fact, in my Facebook, there's more than 1,000 friend requests that I can't respond to. I could until I reach my limit, but I'm not. So I not only have all those followers, but more friend requests than I can respond to that I'm willing to.
But the reason I'm telling you all this is because it's important. If you want to maximize. Your success in Facebook chat for you to be the only one allowed to post on your wall. Now, occasionally I will share something on my wall from a relative or a friend or my wife.
And then, of course, it gets shared on my wall. But when you share posts, your link won't show up if other people share it. I don't know if you girls knew that or guys. So you need to have fresh posts in your Facebook chat.
In your Facebook in order to maximize the shares for your links to be seen when you put your lead capture lead a page link in your posts on your wall. Okay, so let's get back to chatting. Another thing I like to do when I'm chatting is when somebody starts to ask me questions about my business and expresses interest in it. I will actually during the chat make maybe one response to it.
But I will immediately follow up with another question that has nothing to do with business. Now, the tendency for people who are chatting is they're asking me about my business. Awesome. Want to see my link?
No, don't do that. Okay, you can answer the question quickly, but immediately follow up with another question that has absolutely nothing to do with your business. Trust me. Okay.
You want to play hard to get. Now, I know girls are good at this because they did that in school, right? Well, the ones I tried to become a boyfriend with did anyway. They play hard to get.
Now, I play hard to get as a guy in chat. Kevin, can you tell me more about your business? I'd love to. When I get an opening, I'd be happy to do that.
Ooh, did you hear that posture? When I have an opening, I'd be happy to do that. Now, wait a minute, Kevin. We always have openings.
24-7, right? Right. But you don't let the prospect know that. You want to position yourself as a business owner.
And as a business owner, I'm going to use this psychology, as a business owner, you don't run around in the streets if you're looking for a vice president of your company saying, hey, I got an opening for a vice president. My business is awesome. Would you want to check it out to be one of my vice presidents? No.
Now, presidents of companies don't do that, do they? They contact their secretary and say, do me a favor. Put the job posting. We need a new VP of marketing.
Put it on either monster.com or one of the job search sites. Get me 25 or 30 applications and begin the interview process. Thanks, Mildred. Cool.
And he goes back to his work. What does Mildred do? Well, she goes and puts the job posting on the job sites. And all of a sudden, she gets 30, 40, 50 resumes, right?
And what's Mildred do? Yes, no. Two piles. Yes, no, yes, no, yes, no.
So now instead of 50 resumes, she's got about 22 of them. And the other 28 of them, see ya, right? And then she looks at those 22 of them and really looks at them and maybe discards two and has 20 left. Now she picks up the phone.
Hi, Mr. Jones. Hi, Mrs. Jones.
Hi, Mr. Mary. Hi, Mr. John.
All right? And then does a telephone pre-interview based upon their resume. And then out of those 20 interviews, maybe 16 of them she might call back again to schedule an interview. And when she calls back to schedule an interview, maybe 12 of them she gets an interview with.
So 12 come in for their interview for the VP of marketing. They're expecting to see the president. Uh-uh. They see Mildred first.
And Mildred goes through the pre-interview process with those 12 people. And now she's got eight of them out of those 12 that she hands those resumes to the president. The president looks at those resumes knowing that there were 50 at first. And then he discards three of them and says, bring in these five.
Brings in the five. And he interviews those five. Out of those interviews, he takes two of them, discards them, and has three left. Gives them to Mildred and says, call them up for a second interview.
Those three come in. They have their second interview. And then he takes another week or two and then makes his decision based upon the final interviews. And then he personally calls the candidate that he accepts and offers the position of VP of marketing.
And usually it's a couple of candidates because one of them may want to negotiate more and he wants to have a fallback. So the reason I went through this process is real simple. You need to learn to have business posture in your business. Okay?
And when you're chatting, posture is so easy. Because even though you're expanding a business and you're looking for anybody that will be willing to sign up. My goodness, I wish I got a sign up. I need to sign up.
Right? Instead. Right? Instead, every so often you have an opening for candidates for your business.
They might be interested. They might not. I don't know. I don't even know if you would qualify for what I'm looking for.
Okay? Of course they qualify. Do you breathe? Are you over 18 and do you have a debit card?
Okay. We know that. But they don't. And if you treat your business like a business versus I'm trying to get my link out.
I'm trying to get my link into your hands. Oh, you expressed interest. Oh, good. I'm going to get the link out to them as fast as possible.
You just killed your posture. Okay? And guess what? You will give your link out and you'll think they're excited about it.
Oh, but you don't understand. They were excited and they want to. Don't do it. It's too soon.
Okay? I have a business I'm expanding. You might be interested. You might not.
But I don't have any openings yet. But when I do, can I contact you? Ooh. Now, there's a nice thing to chat to somebody.
Now, if you're doing chat every day, it won't matter that that person you just said that to isn't going to see your business until next week. Will it? Because every day you'll have somebody who you said that to last week. Does that make sense?
So, you want to plant seeds and plant seeds in your garden. And then the little seedlings come up. And those are the ones you planted a little seed about. Yeah, I have a business I do at home.
Yes, it's very successful. Thank you. So, tell me more about whatever you were talking about. Change the subject.
Play hard to get. Because I guarantee you, when you do that, by the time that you've done that once or twice or three times with somebody. By the time you're ready to give them the link, they're going to be like, yeah, they're going to watch it right away. Because you put a value on that.
A value of a couple of things. Your time. That's huge. Okay.
And the value of the business itself and the opportunity itself. You want to make it appear like you're not going to just allow anybody to take your link to look at your business. Because you're on the search for specific qualifications. Now, here's what the qualifications are for me, in my mind.
Are they open-minded? Are they positive? Or are they always complaining when I chat with them? Right?
If it's somebody who's always complaining when I'm chatting with them, I don't need to give them my link, nor the opportunity to take a look at my business. Well, Kevin, you're doing very well with the business already. No. You need that posture from day one.
Whether or not you're already successful with the business. The more posture you have and the more you put off people about taking a look at your business, the more success you're going to have in sponsoring them. When the time comes for them to finally look at it. Because, see, because you've had that posture the whole time, you may not be interested and I don't have any openings for you.
Right now, I still don't have any openings. But, and then the next time you talk to them, hey, Mary, remember I told you when I'd have an opening in my business, I'd let you know? Yes. Well, I still don't.
But I just wanted you to know. Yeah. See? You follow me?
That I'm thinking about you. Because here's what will happen. How many of us want them to watch the video the minute we give them our link? Raise your hand.
I see everybody, just about everybody's hands raised. Right? Of course. Well, you have a better chance of them watching your video immediately when you've had posture with them than, oh, they asked me about my business.
Want to see my link? Guarantee they won't watch the video right then and there. They won't. Unless you have held it back from them.
I have something to show you, but I'm not going to show you yet. Okay? Yeah, but Kevin, isn't that like playing games? No, it's not.
Okay? You want to be like the Pied Piper. And people will follow those who are hiding something from them. Or who won't tell them yet what they have.
Why won't you tell me about your business? Well, when they start asking questions, that leads me to this piece. Tell me more about what you do. How exactly do you build a business?
What do you do? And they haven't even watched a video yet. Right? Tell me more about it.
Can you explain it to me? You said you had a business online. Explain it to me. And I say, no.
You know, I would love to. But I don't give bits and pieces of my business to anybody when I'm expanding. And here's why. Because if I give you bits and pieces, people make decisions on partial facts.
And that's not fair to you or me. So I made a policy as the owner that if I have an opening and I'm going to give my video to somebody to watch, that they not only are going to watch it right away, but they're not going to ask me any questions about it until after they've watched the entire video. Right? Now, I tried this with somebody.
And this worked. And it doesn't work every time. But when I gave them my video, after I had put them off for like two weeks, and they said, yes, I'm going to watch it right now. Okay?
And I got back to them to follow up. I said, here's the question you asked. What did you like best about what you saw? And that's the exact question phrase that I use.
What did you like best about what you saw? And he said, everything. I said, well, you must have a good reason for not signing up right away then. Why is that?
He says, I want to learn more. Right? I said, well, obviously you love the video, right? Loved it.
I said, wasn't that awesome when he talked about the elephants? And he said, yeah. We don't talk about elephants on our video, do we? I've never heard any of the guys talking about elephants.
Have you, Vanessa? No? I don't think so. Right?
But he lied. But I can fish out someone who tells me I watched the whole video. Well, I know. Wasn't that a riot about the elephants?
Yeah. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Hmm.
Yeah. Fished it right out. So Catherine's cracking up over there. And I got everybody on, like, I can see everybody here.
I don't know if you put something on the upper right and boom, you can see everybody. So it's important that you keep posture when you're chatting with someone. Yes, it's important to get to know them. Okay?
There was a song in the King and I, getting to know you, getting to know all about you. Right? You want to get to like you, getting to hope you like me. And, you know, you want to get to know them and have them get to know you.
But you don't want to give them your link right away. That's the biggest mistake you're making when chatting. I don't care if I've seen any of your chats yet. I can see that right up front.
The biggest mistake you're getting is the moment they show the slightest bit of interest, a little bit of interest right there, you're on them. You give them their link. Like I said earlier, don't do it as much as it's so tempting to. Even if they ask you questions about your business, don't do it.
Guys and gals. Okay? Hold back. You know?
Control thyself. Don't give them your link. Don't ask them if they want to see it. It's too soon.
Yeah, but Kevin, I've been chatting with him for three days. It's too soon. I'm being facetious there, but I'm exaggerating to make a point. Okay?
You'll get the best success in the world by catching up. By keeping it from them. Then you will by shoving it down their throat the minute they show any signs of life on interest in what you do. Okay?
That's so important. Because if you're giving them your link on the first chat, you haven't done your job. You haven't done it yet. You want to be able to recite to somebody else all about that person you chatted with.
About their family, their children, what they do for work, why they love it, why they hate it, what they do for fun, how come they don't do what they like to do for fun more often. See, you can gear your questions for arrows in your quiver. So that you can take those arrows out and shoot later. What do you do for fun?
Oh, we love roller skating. When you say we, who? My family and I. We roller skate on the weekends all the time in the roller skating rink.
We just love it. No kidding. Do you roller skate just on the weekends? Yeah.
How come you don't roller skate during the week? Ah, so you just asked them a question that has to do with I don't have time for that. Gee, why don't you have time for that? I work for a living.
Duh. I come home during the week. I'm exhausted. I got to make my family's meal, if you're talking to the woman.
I got to make my family's meals and get the kids ready for bed and give whoever I got to give a bath to or whatever. And by the time I have time for myself, we don't even think about going roller skating during the week. Oh, okay. Well, if you could and you did have the time, would you?
Do you like it that much? Oh, yeah. Arrow in the quiver. Because later on, after you've gotten to know them in another chat, you can say, hey, I found an awesome way that people can have more time to go roller skating with their family.
Would you be open to taking a look at that? And because you knew their answer before and based on the conversation you had with them before, they're going to go, yeah. And here's what I say. Well, when I have an opening, I'll let you know.
You thought I was going to give them my link, didn't you? You got to go fishing, okay? And just as those fish start to nibble, pull that back, okay? Just as they start to nibble, pull it back a little bit.
Make them want it. That's the key. They're going to want to see your business if you were genuinely interested in them. How come every time we talk about, I had a guy say this to me.
How come every time we start talking about your business. You won't give me your link? I get people get mad at me for not giving them my link. I say, well, because I'm not sure that you're a candidate for my business.
I'm not sure it makes sense for you. Maybe in the future you might be. I don't know. And let them try to sell you on giving them your link.
Not you try to sell them on giving them your link. And that only works when you try hard to get. And you plant seeds. It works.
It works better than anything in the world. And you know what's great? It works face to face, too. Okay?
We had, my wife and I, we eat at specific restaurants in Louisville, Kentucky. And one of the restaurants is called Cheddar's. I don't know if there's a Cheddar's anywhere near where you guys are. But the restaurant manager, the floor manager, okay, her name is Allison.
Every time Allison sees us, even if there's massive crowds, she goes and grabs menus and brings us in. Because we're regulars. Right? And I like to plant seeds.
When somebody does something that I'm impressed with, like when I see Allison accommodating some food, some customers, I say to her, boy, I'll tell you what. A person like you would be super in my business. So what's the soup of the day? And, of course, what do you think she asks?
What's your business? So I change the subject instantly the minute I make a comment like that. And I do it intentionally. And we're still prospecting her.
Been going to that restaurant for three years. Haven't given her my link yet. I'll guarantee you this. That when I'm ready to, that she'll not only watch it, but she'll join.
And it's nice to have a whole bunch of people. Wouldn't it be nice to have a whole bunch of people that the moment you know, that the moment you're going to give them your link, that they're going to sign up, that they're going to go watch it and join you? Because you set the stage correctly. Our job is to set the stage, not to get somebody interested.
That's what makes a good chatter. Finding out what they like to do for fun and why they don't do it more than they do it now. Find out how often they do it now and why they don't. What else do you like to do for fun?
And find out it's not just roller skating. Okay? And whatever people like to do for fun, nobody does enough of it. Excuse me.
Nobody does enough of what they like to do for fun. Period. And that's in your favor. That gives you arrows in your future quiver for when you, you know, continue chatting with them.
And then when you finally run out like a face cloth, F-O-R-M, you know all about their family, they know all about yours, you know all about what they do for a living, their complaints they have about their coworkers. I mean, even to that extent. Okay? There must be people you love at work and people you don't like as much.
Tell me about that. There's another question to ask. Ask about their job, isn't it? Not what do you do for a living?
Okay. They are a seamstress. And what do you have for a family? Okay.
They have been a husband and they were divorced once. Okay. And what do you like to do for fun? I like to roller skate.
Good. Cam, I got the family occupation and recreation, so now I can get my link, right? No. Excuse me.
You've only just begun. Okay? Because you ain't seen nothing yet. Baby, you just ain't seen nothing yet.
Okay? You need to continue and move and ask more about who do you like in your job and who don't you like and why. When they tell you why they don't like somebody, they're telling you about their values. I like to find out about people's values.
How do you do that? Well, talk about who they like at work and who they don't like. And why? And ladies love to tell about why they don't like somebody.
Right? If you're talking, if you're chatting with a lady, that is. Okay? And that's, that's arrows in your quiver.
It gives you the value. Well, they're mean to people and I don't like mean people. Ah, she has a heart of gold. Now, what I keep next to my desk are these.
You know what these are, right? Three by five cards. Okay. Three by five cards.
You can form a system at home on your own. There you go. Sherry's got some right on her desk. These are some of the recent affiliates that have joined our team.
Right? And on the back of the card, I have notes about each and every one of them. This person, trucking company, left their job. Now he's in a job that he's been there for four months.
Got a three-year-old daughter and a seven-year-old granddaughter. Can you imagine that? A three-year-old daughter and a seven-year-old granddaughter. Right?
And his brother installs radios. Wants to get out of debt. And in order to do that, he needs to be making an additional $3,500 a month. Now, again, all of this stuff's on the back of my three by five cards.
So that when I talk to people, this goes deeper than just, it's all in chat, Kevin. It's all in chat. It's all in chat. It's all in chat.
It's all in chat. It's all in chat. It's all in chat. It's all in chat.
It's all in chat. It's all in chat. It's all in chat. It's all in chat.
It's all in chat. It's all in chat. It's all in chat. Kevin, I want to know who they are.
What they are. What they do. Why they do it. I have a special place for all my stuff.
So you really want to get into deeper more than just family occupation recreation. You want to find out who, what, when, where, how, and why. And wring out the face cloth. And once you've wrung out that face cloth…
all that excess water you got a nice dry face cloth okay now you can offer them your business because you have reasons to not just a reason but several reasons plural to offer them a way to to make some more money so they have more time for their recreation more time for their family and who knows maybe they want to get out of their job maybe they don't maybe they absolutely love their job Kevin if somebody loves their job are they a candidate for this business okay watch the hinges why because somebody who's already successful at what they do for a living oh those are perfect prospects for your business they don't have to be dissatisfied with their job to be a prospect for your business why i loved my job i just hated my bosses okay i was successful at what i did for a living i was earning eighty thousand dollars a year you as an independent consultant when I joined the internet arena 14 years ago okay I was doing very well successful on my job I just my independent spirit said get me out of here not because I hated my job but because I don't like to be lorded over by bosses that's just me okay but the big the best candidates for your business are those that are actually happy with what they do for a living those are your best candidates here's why not only because they might be successful I have the best chance of being successful at this business but they have connections who they can get on board right away without waiting four weeks before they're finally learning how to prospect online to get somebody in their business through the internet don't discount the fact that people will sponsor people they know because and that's you know okay Kev that you're old school and I know that they know not necessarily okay lots of people in today's day and age who are not old school can sponsor people who um you know they know face to face and the more successful they are in life the better so that was what i wanted to do we have another 38 minutes left so let's do this i'd like to do this in a in an orderly fashion and give everybody a chance between now and 9 30 um eastern because i know it's oh my goodness it's almost 2 2 a.m if it's almost 2 a.m where you are right now raise your hand oh katherine okay oh my goodness yeah let me i need to put my glasses on louisa okay um bless your hearts for being here you know you could have gotten the recording and just went to bed but you wouldn't have been able to get the recording if you hadn't been able to get the recording anyway i know that there's a lot of chats um and so i'm going to bring up the chat and i'm just going to see if anybody has asked me anything yet in the chat because i will start with you but let's just see oh oh my goodness there's a lot of q a session tonight at nine um uh i promise i won't go to two two two i won't go past 9 30 if we have to if we don't have to then fine that's tricky can i love it play the part on your links uh can they just go to one of your links on your timeline though brown asked okay i'm going to get to that question first let's see one good question save that one for q a hope this is recording if kevin's business goes bad uh he does have a good voice well that's all i that's what i did before this uh before i worked for a living as i was a singer and i've been in several shows all my life i was in fiddler on the roof seven times i've played the lead in that musical um okay so that one question in the chat that i see here we'll start with um with james so james can they just go to one of your links on your timeline though uh-huh absolutely james are you there or oh it says icing ankle sore okay um thank you valerie i appreciate that feedback um icing ankle but i'm here though okay good uh of course they're going to go to a link on your wall lots of people though will blow you away they won't so many people say can i get a link to your business and it's right there in front of their face on your wall and they're like oh my god i'm on your wall that doesn't mean lose your posture so in other words to answer that question in this regard it's not licensed to lose your posture okay so that's probably the best way i can answer that if they go to your link um you know on your wall great but then don't lose your posture that's that's a huge one so let's do this rather than chatting the questions i want those um uh let's see this seems to take a lot of time last week peabody said uh i work full time and then sherry asked a question before so i'll go to sherry next but let's not do this in chat let's let's actually talk if you can uh so sherry she said do you use a fan page on facebook and what's the difference between your personal and home page versus a fan page i do not use my fan page at all um my wife does and she does it for facebook pay-per-click okay i have a fan page i just don't use it to chat i chat like a regular facebook i chat if you want to use your fan page i recommend you do it for facebook pay-per-click that's another topic and so you know you can talk to whoever does pay-per-click i know justin has some good courses on that um and then leslie said it seems to take a lot of time i work full time how do you recommend a person does this part-time 30 minutes a day um here's my answer uh to that and that's going to be the last question i'm going to ask you is do you use a fan page on facebook pay-per-click last question i ask in chat because i want to do this live um leslie uh i'm going to give you an answer you're not going to like whatever it takes okay you may not like that answer but um you have your own personal reasons for joining empower network and um whatever time you can put in and since it's limited based upon your working full time i would get to immediately getting 10 initiate chats right away and then once you're that base of 10 initiates then you can start working those chats over a period of a few days or a week so that you can uh build that relationship and heart match and that heart match occurs when you've wrung out the face cloth and you've really gotten to know each other very well um so you can do that part-time um but but quickly initiate those 10 chats so you have enough in the hopper to do with what little time you have okay um let's see rose you're you're uh uh you're there can you unmute yourself sure can thank you all right go ahead yeah so what i wanted to know was um when they say send you the link are you just sending them to your straight vsl is that the only thing that you're sending them to kevin that's a good question i i send them to my lead capture page okay now you can have a bridge video of you for two minutes before it goes before and then put a link under that to go to the sales page of empower the shortcut video um i use mostly a direct link from my lead capture page to the shortcut video um and then when i'm following up in my broadcast emails i have a bridge video but i send them to the lead capture page that's where i send them okay all right you didn't do anything custom right nothing in insta builder so leave let's say you could do the capture page email right you want them to to um put that in there and then you'll have the follow-up series from there right okay great yeah okay katherine go ahead and unmute yourself hi i've unmuted myself good yeah um i i find it quite difficult to um move on to like getting the money side out of them maybe i'm i'm a financial advisor that's my job and i find it kind of quite weird but i find it quite difficult in the facebook chats i can find out what they do i i know their inside leg measurements but to move it on to are you short of money i find quite hard is there a trick to that or do i just pinch my leg yeah well yeah it's not a trick and once you know when i give you this answer i think it might solve your issue okay um everything in our lives family occupation and recreation those three parts of form of for can always relate back to money okay for example if someone has three children um they have lots of children okay i consider three or more lots of children right and lots of children can be very expensive can't it yeah see you just said yes now i just did something with you called tie down didn't i you responded um keep your microphone on catherine okay keep the mic on okay so in other words i asked a question and you pretty much answered me didn't you i did yeah you did it again right now didn't you wouldn't you couldn't it and wouldn't you don't you agree isn't that true couldn't it wouldn't it when you make a statement you can always tie it down with the question can't you now you did it didn't i you did it so when you relate to family you can ask a question you can make a statement that's a fact wow taking care of three children can be quite expensive can't it can't it yeah right so and then you can tie their statement down oh it's so expensive nowadays isn't it and you can you can follow up with a question to tie down to actually get them to say yes tie downs are designed to say yes aren't they see i didn't say yes i didn't say yes i didn't say yes i didn't say yes i didn't say yes i just did it again and of course when i do it in person i'm nodding you know uh tie downs are good um wow you must love your job don't you yes i love my job okay so if you love your job would you if they stop paying you would you still work there now this might sound like an odd question but if do you love your job so much that if they stop paying you you would continue working there no okay just checking what is it about you job that you don't love enough of it to keep working if they stopped paying you so you can relate questions of their family and their occupation and their recreation to lead them to the money um to them wanting more money for some reason yeah if sky was the limit what would you do in life if you had the ways and means i'm going to ask you an off-the-wall question mary say if skies were the limit what would you do in life if you possibly could and they'll tell you their dream tell me more about that when they answer it don't just okay now do i say tell me more about that and they will so when you get people talking about their dreams it's a nice segue for you who's a little uncomfortable trying to figure out how do i get to the money part that makes sense yeah okay i hope that helped thank you did oh you're welcome brenda brenda are you listening brenda okay brenda's not listening no i i was not i'm meeting myself all right what's your question um i have a a facebook page that is for my business and then one for just personal um but i think you said that you do most of your chatting on your personal page not your business page or because that's where all our friends are okay all right so we we want to target our friends for for for chatting not necessarily someone who hasn't who hasn't come to us before maybe because whenever i was going through and trying to do the little exercise you wanted us to do it i tried to target those people that i saw that have liked my post or commented on my post or this type of thing but are not necessarily my friends and of course i didn't get much interaction so perhaps that's the reason i should have focused on my friends for chatting not necessarily and that's the science part remember when i said earlier that this is an art and a science um just because you hadn't had results with those people doesn't mean it doesn't work you may want to change up your approach on those people okay and um you know just compliment a lot be genuine in those compliments with people that are not friends that you're talking to that have commented on posts okay complimenting i started out with something like thank you so much for commenting on my post i have seen you here before um you know i'd like to get to know you a little bit better okay well rather than i'd like to get to know you a little bit better uh please send me a friend request okay okay go right to the source and ask the horse he'll give you the answer that you'll endorse okay that's from that's from an old tv show here in the states you know mr ed that's right yeah you want to keep on yakking okay um and just ask them to be friends sherry's loving this she's like i haven't seen you um i just dated myself thanks a lot okay anyway good so uh yeah that's all just don't don't say i'd like you know just go right to it please send me a friend request okay okay and they will a good portion of them so that's a good question i'm going to go on to the next because we're limited on time but thank you brenda for participating um uh louisa hi yes um thank now there's a couple of things i was like do you ever ask for email address without giving them the capture page just say you know would you like to get on my email list no okay no and here's why it's obvious you don't want to be obvious right by asking for an email address um clearly you want that for some ulterior motive that's what how they're thinking okay okay all right so you're better off building a relationship with them and let them put their email address in your lead capture page because they wanted to see your your site so badly because you had built that rapport um in the proper fashion that i just described that you will get their email address and you'll be able to get their email address you just need to earn it and in a way that is not so obvious okay that's a good question though thank you oh go ahead did you want to follow up louisa can i yeah because i've got i've gone through the whole thing with somebody and got to the point and they got the um they looked at the the video and everything and then he said he didn't have the money to sign up so he didn't have the money to sign up so he didn't have the money to sign up the seven dollars so i just left it um so he then got back in touch and said he wanted to speak to me again on the phone because he had lots more questions for me and i said really well i haven't got much more to say because it's all in the video you know there's nothing more for me to to discuss with you so how do you take how what do you do what what what would you say to someone like that okay um well there's a number of ways you can handle that and again um it's based upon your rapport with him and and exactly what you have talked to him about if he didn't have the seven dollars and it kept him back the first time and something like that just on the surface without knowing the background of your conversation with him i would typically say um before we do that what's the most pressing question that you have that i can answer right now in chat okay because usually it's not questions plural it's one particular question that might be holding him back and um and then if he says well i do have more than one of the questions and i'll and i'll come back with i understand that but what i'd like to know is usually there's one major reason that holds people back in addition to not having the seven dollars not um instead of always say in addition to because you want to validate that they have a legitimate reason why they can't sign up so i always say in addition to that what else is holding you back and what's the biggest question you have beside in addition to the money and didn't get to that uh i would say here's what i would say to follow up okay so in other words you don't have the seven dollars but in addition to that you were wondering if you have to talk to your friends and family maybe that was the you know let's just say that was one of the his objections questions do i have to talk to my friends or family okay so in other words you didn't have the seven dollars but you were wondering if you have to talk to friends and family he could show you how to build this business without talking to friends and family you mean you'd be ready to get started and if he says well no not really aha don't handle the wrong objection louisa always find the real one because i won't give you the real one until you dig a little bit in other words you said the seven dollars if i could show you a way that you didn't have to approach friends and family you'd be open to taking a look at it well no not really okay well in addition to that what else is holding you back well you know i tried something like this once before and i failed i'm afraid i'll fail again i can understand that so in other words if i could show you step by step on how to make this work for you and hold your hand in the process you'd be ready to get started yes great here's the lead cap here's the link go ahead and sign is that step chart up and out the real reason and then if I can handle that you'd be ready to go yeah great let's get you started here's the link oh and you're in okay and that takes a little professionalism but now that it's recorded you can refer back to this and and here yeah yep okay great thanks right you're welcome Valerie unmute I'm meeting I'm unmuted okay cool all right um I had a question just curious so many but I'll start with this what is there a reason why you go from capture page straight to the sales video in chat and is the link it's been a while I haven't looked at the limits underneath your yours is the link underneath your videos and images do those go to capture big because it's colder traffic no first of all to answer the first part of the question sometimes I'll bring them to a page that has a bridge and sometimes I won't well the ones I do are the ones I don't have that much of a relationship with that bridge will give a little more about me the ones I do are most of them who I've already run out the face cloth with in chat and they know who I am and so I'll get right from lead capture page direct to to shortcut and what was the other half of that question the other half was when you're when you're posting and again I could just go look but I have you here and it was just logic I miss it so then the one the link like that Kevin's who said that doesn't matter if you want to go back and we asked that you have underneath your images that goes to capture page to bridge page I'm assuming yeah no no yeah here's why because it's passive and I'm not actually advertising it my links in my facebook every one of them on all of my posts are just passive links I don't talk about them necessarily most of the time if I post a funny video that we do is just there if somebody signs up I know they're serious I'll get less sign us but I just want to capture the lead capture the lead capture the lead so that my broadcast emails will give them the no-life trust factor of Kevin when they start receiving those so I work my my list with my broadcast emails and I close my sales with that versus sending them to a bridge from my cold site in Facebook so that's just my personal preference you can do it anyway either way it might be even more effective with a bridge I just don't I just put it in like my lead capture page I let it go right to the right to the sales page when I post my links to my in my video in my facebook chat Facebook page you know hey posts rather okay sharing thanks Val thank you if you would have mind just muting out Valerie Sherry you want any questions yeah so I asked you the one about the fan page versus you know your your personal page your home page and you said you don't use your fan page Wow which is fine I'm still trying to understand what I need my fan page for so a couple of things that you know I saw in your videos I'm still a little confused when you copy and when you upload your videos to Google groups I'm switching off the fan page stuff I'm going over to groups okay so when you post to your group sometimes I can just copy and paste so if I've already posted my blog okay to Facebook I can just copy that link and then paste it in other places so that I upload my video to YouTube I download it to Facebook so it's not posted directly to Facebook and then I can just copy that link and post in multiple places on Facebook so when you want to do your groups should I always be doing it your way or can I still just copy and paste it into those groups no you can do it the way you're doing either way doesn't matter I don't excuse me I stopped posting in groups two years ago I don't posting groups anymore and eventually you won't need to yeah the only reason you want to post in groups is to get engagement comments go back to the same group you posted in and see if anybody is commented at all.
If people are not commenting on your videos that you post in groups, you're wasting your time. I'm still new, Kevin, so again, I watched all your videos from November time frame, so I'm just following through what I just learned. Yeah, okay, but here's what you want to watch in groups. Okay.
You want to go back to the groups you're posting your videos in and see if anybody's commenting at all. If nobody's commenting in your group that you're posting videos in, you're wasting your time. Okay. Okay, that's a good indicator.
What would have been the benefit of posting in groups? Well, to get comments on your videos, so that's the reason, so that you can chat with those people. Okay. Yeah, that's the purpose of the group, not necessarily for them to click on your link, but to get comments so you can chat with them.
And so keep, be aware that if you're not getting comments on your videos in the groups, you're wasting your time. Here's why. Most of the groups that people post in are business off groups, and here's what people do in a business off group. They dump and leave.
Dump and leave. That's all they do. They don't look at each other's stuff. There's no engagement.
It's a waste of time, and so you want to be cognizant of that. When you're posting a group, if you don't see anybody engaging at all, don't post in that group anymore. Okay. Okay.
Because you're wasting your time. And then kind of follow up to one of the other questions. When you're talking in chat, do you ever want to let them know that with the link that you're going to, they're going to have to enter their email address? Do you ever tell them that?
You don't need to tell them that. Okay, here's why. Most of the world gets that. Okay.
Yeah. When you're new, and I can understand you wanted to be sympathetic to that, but be more empathetic. People will get that. So, in other words, you don't have to explain that.
Oh, by the way, when you get to my page, put in your email address. You don't have to do any of that. Okay. Cool.
Okay. Yeah. That's cool. Thank you.
Now, there was another. You're welcome, Sherry. You're very welcome. There's another Sherry here.
Sherry Starnes. We have another Sherry here. Go ahead. Do you have any questions?
No. I'm listening. I'm good right now. Thank you.
All right. Cool. I've actually had some questions answered already. Oh, good.
I figured that would happen. Yeah. Good. Brian Greene.
Thank you. You're welcome. Brian Greene, are you there? Yes.
Yes, I'm here. Yeah, a lot of my questions have been answered as well. Yeah, I really don't have anything to add at this point. It's been a great value so far.
Oh, good. I'm taking good notes. So if something pops up, get, you know, if I have another question, I'll, you know, test the group again. All right.
Cool. Appreciate that. Thanks, Brian. Leslie Peabody.
Nadia, I'll get to you, and Katherine, I'll be back at you in a minute. So I did have a follow-up question because when I've tried to chat before, I lose track of them Kevin, in my chat menu. Like you have a hundred chats going over a number of days. And I don't do the follow-up.
I lose them, and I don't follow up a day or two or three later. Is that your business card thing, your index card? Is that what keeps you focused on who you need to chat with next? Yeah, or that's a good question, or a notepad.
And just put their name in a notepad. Name in a notepad the day you chatted. Name in the notepad the day you chatted. Name in the notepad.
And here's what you do. In your chat, in your Facebook Messenger, copy their name and go to the search side on the upper left. Paste their name in there and hit enter. And boom, they'll come right up to the top, and there's your chat with them the last time you chatted.
So that's how to find somebody instead of going, you know, and try to find them, which is a pain in the part we sit on. So instead of doing that, you can use either a notepad or a 3×5 card system, whatever is easy for you, and use the search field in chat. That'll kill that issue. Thank you.
We're good? Nadia. Thanks, Leslie. You need to unmute me.
There we go. My question is, already for a long time I'm chatting with them, and a little bit I did not do as you asked today, but what I did do, it was they were interested, and I gave them a link and asked what we like most of, and some of them came back, some of them no. And they disappeared, kind of, not answering me anymore. I keep following them.
Do you keep following them? Yes. Is that what you're asking? If several times already I approached them to ask what did they like most from the video, and they not answering, I do keep track, following them, or how do you do it?
No, no, just move on. Just move on. Just keep them and go. Yeah.
There's a philosophy in this business that you want to learn how to develop, and if you learn the secret to this philosophy, it will help you from being frustrated about people that don't reply after they watch the video, and if they don't answer you back, or if they won't give their full reason why they want to join. This philosophy works, and if you get this philosophy right from the beginning, you're going to be very successful. You ready? Okay.
Next! Great. Great. Thank you.
That's all. The philosophy of next. It works like a dream, Nadia. Lots of people around.
Yeah. Hungry. You know, the philosophy of next. Thank you.
This one, it is a bunch of people. I watched it since July. I was following. It's amazing.
I've been doing this, and I say, okay, since then, nobody signed with me, you know, through chat. I say, okay, since I'm doing something wrong, now I understand how to do it. Yes. Bye-bye.
Nice. Thank you. Now, Catherine, just in all fairness, Nadia, thank you. I'm going to come back to you in a minute, but there's three more.
I want to actually two more ask questions from, and then I'll come back to you. Okay. So, Crystal. So, you're next.
Next. Hello. Hi. No, I don't really have any questions, and most of them haven't been answered.
Oh. No questions. Wow. We've had like three people with no questions here tonight.
I think I did my first part pretty well then. Huh? Not too shabby. Thank you.
No, thank you, Crystal. And let's see. Who else is next here? This is Miguel.
Miguel. Miguel. I know that. I know that.
I'm going to tell you. Your English is not too, not, Portuguese is your language of choice. However, I'm not Portuguese, but if you have a question, please feel free to ask. Hi, Kevin.
Hi, everyone. Yeah, yeah. I'm okay with English. Oh, okay.
Cool. Cool. So, my question is, I have a crazy agenda, so on a daily basis, I have some, some companies to manage, too much work on the daily basis, and it's very hard time for me to manage to shed life, because I give classes, I have classes, I have companies to manage, and too many meetings and so on. So, shedding life is very, very highly more effective when I do, but it's really challenging for me to find a time to shed life.
My question for you is, what do you do, what would you do? Do you only shed life, or what kind of strategy would you use to manage that without live chatting? Okay. Good question.
You can shed. Semi-live, here's what I mean by that, or not live, almost, you know, chat can be almost like email, but different, because you're not waiting for somebody to send it to you. It's there. When you get back to it, it's there.
When you let people know right up front that because of your busy schedule, if you begin to chat with them and you cannot continue that chat with them, that you will pick up where you left off when you get back to your computer. You will be amazed at how many people will accept that, and you can talk back and forth with people over a period of two days where it would take me and somebody else 10 minutes. And so, in other words, you can chat in Facebook, but it may not be live, it may be semi-live. You know, you go in, you say, hey, how's it going?
Sorry, I haven't been able to respond because I have a busy schedule, but the way I chat is I can get back to you. You know, I'm going to chat with you. Okay. Okay.
You know, as soon as I can, but not necessarily immediately. Is that okay with you? And ask them that. And then they'll tell you if that's okay with them or not.
And that's all you can do. If you can't chat live, then maybe if you don't want to chat the way I just suggested, maybe chatting is not something that's conducive to your business, and you might be more into, you know, doing something along the line of, of paid advertising versus chatting. Yeah. No, I love chatting.
Okay. Good. And that kind of, and I can build rapport chatting. That's very cool.
That's really cool. That's why I'm here. That's cool for me. Sure.
My only fear is the live, the live thing. Yeah. When you make it clear to them, to the people you're chatting with, that your time is sporadic, that you may not be able to reach them. Right.
If you're able to respond right away because of your schedule with work, people understand. You'll be amazed at how understanding people are, especially when you tell them that right up front. So that's what I would do is let them know that so that they don't think that you're ignoring them or not placing as much of a value on that chat. But if you let them know right up front with me, I love to chat, but because of my schedule, I'm unable to do a long continuity.
Do you mind if every so often I chat, I come back later and answer your question or talk? Is that okay with you? And tell you what, people respect that kind of honesty and they won't read your mind and think that you're neglecting them. Make sense?
Yeah. That's cool, Kevin. Thank you so much. And great to be here.
Thank you. Thanks, Miguel. And Catherine, we're back to you again. I know you had another question.
Oh, hang on, you're, you're breaking up, you're freezing a little bit. You may have several programs open and it's causing you to freeze up. No, we're not getting it. You're breaking up, Catherine.
Kevin, would it be okay if we had Catherine write it in the chat box so she can get her question answered? Yes. Okay. Yeah.
The one exception. Yeah. Go ahead and put it in chat, Catherine. I just said, Catherine, please put your question here.
So if she can still hear us, then fine. If not, wow, look at the time. We wanted an hour and a half and look at this, Vanessa. How did we do?
Huh? Yeah. Perfect. Timing could not have been more perfect, huh?
Oh, my word. Will said, Kevin, you got 90 minutes. And I was like, okay, we'll do that. So I'm sorry that we lost Catherine.
I think she looks like we lost her too. So anyway, well, it's been a real pleasure and an honor to be able to help here. And I hope that what I've done here has been able to help people and that answers to questions were able to help others as well. One more, Louise.
And then we have to close it down. Yeah. I've had a message from James Brown, who obviously can't get through. Oh, yeah.
There we go. It's gone to everyone. It came to me privately. Now it's gone.
Is there any time that we're too late in sharing our link? He's asking. Oh, I see it. A link spaced out in chat pulled away.
No. It's never too late to send somebody a link, James. And so you reply to him, Louisa, if you can, rather than me type it out, because it's never too late to send somebody a link, James. And so you reply to him, Louisa, if you can, rather than me type it out, because it's never too late to send somebody a link, James.
And so you reply to him, Louisa, if you can, rather than me type it out, because it's never too late to send somebody a link, James. And so you reply to him, Louisa, if you can, rather than me type it out, because it's never too late to send somebody a link, James.
And so you reply to him, Louisa, if you can, rather than me type it out, because it's never up the person from their Facebook profile before you begin the chat or do you not do you just how how quickly do you know whether you're just completely wasting their time I don't I don't I don't study their profile to determine whether or not I'm going to chat with them my my entire chat process is based on how well that chat is going and you'll find out about them during that chat versus trying to read about them first to try to prejudge whether or not they're a contender or you know a candidate for the business and so I use the chat the actual chat itself mostly and occasionally I'll look in their profile but I hope that helps that does okay thank you and so Vanessa if you have anything else to say or do you want me to close it out or floor is all yours okay thanks again guys and gals for the opportunity to help this is going to be recorded and I believe Vanessa you can confirm this it will be placed in the back in the next level great through section special products section am i right I'm confirming that with will right now but that's how I understood it yes okay there's the one that got to attend live got to attend live and I would hope that this would be available to the next level breakthrough people who weren't able to attend because they may find something or have an affiliate in their team that will find a value in this training and I would hope that it will be available to the next level breakthrough people I would hope that that he would allow that and everybody's saying thank you to me in chat you're very welcome and I appreciate you too very much so with that said thanks again I hope everybody makes it a great night go and grow chat like crazy get yourself some affiliates and let's let's achieve our dreams and I'll see you in Nashville

And so it's a lot easier to use a free method of Facebook chatting than it is to reach in our pockets for money that isn't there. But don't get me wrong.
If you go into your Facebook you have two sections. You have your own place with your own name, your own Facebook profile, if you will, where all your posts are going to be shared. And then you have the posts of all your friends on your home page where they all show up.
If you go to home and you just slowly scroll down, when you first jump on Facebook during the day, you can do it throughout the day or whatever, you're going to notice that friends are commenting on other people's posts.
And compliment them. They're not on your friends list, they're on their friends list, and say, you know, that was a really nice thing to say, Charlie, about Mary's post or whatever, and boy, the world needs more people like you, I'd love to connect, send me a friend request, please. Now, if you do that one little technique and you compliment someone's comment on a post of a friend of yours, you're going to get a lot of engagement. Okay. Okay, but if you keep commenting on their posts without them friending you, they'll think you're doing suspicious activity and they'll warn you and eventually block you from requesting friends, and if you keep doing it, they'll shut you down, okay?
But compliment commenters on friends' posts and follow up with, hey, I always love to associate with positive people, would you mind sending me a friend request? See, you can get a hundred friend requests a day. You just can't friend request a hundred people a day, see? So that's a nice little tip, a technique to help you increase your friends list and work that in with what you're doing. You don't have to sit there all day scrolling for ten hours just to find that one positive comment that you want to throw a reply to, but do it in a reply to them, not as another comment on the post.
That's important because they'll see it. And if you can, tag them. Tag them, not always, because they're not on your friends list, but sometimes you can, okay? And compliment them and ask them to friend request you. That's just one little tidbit right there, okay?
The other thing that you need is you need to have your Facebook positioned for maximum friends and followers. As you guys know, I have 5,000 friends and 64,500 some odd followers, and there's a reason for that. Mostly because of my video posts. Many of my videos started going viral a few years ago, and when that happened I put together a Facebook course, which I'm sure most of you have. It's free.
I used to sell it, but now I give it away free to everybody in the world to be able to learn how to post properly in Facebook. When you post properly in Facebook versus improperly, you're setting yourself up for success. You're setting yourself up to share your stuff. Now this webinar is not on how to post in Facebook, so I'm not going to get into those details, and if you don't have my free course, I think most of you are friends of mine in Facebook. You can ask me for that course, but I'm going to respectfully ask you one thing before I continue.
Please don't ask me to help you with one-on-one chats in Facebook, okay? And the reason for that is because I work with so many people in my own personal team right now, that if you're on my personal team and you're asking me questions about, you know, chatting in Facebook, if I get 50 people that do that in a day, I'm sure you can understand, being if you were in the same position, that really it isn't conducive to you building your own business.
So that's why we're having this session, and that's why I will put in some of my training videos for the Breakthrough Team, so that you can gain that knowledge without having to, you know, personally ask the questions one-on-one. So anyway, I just wanted to cover that. So chatting in Facebook, you know, this is so basic, and so many people when they start to chat they fall away from this and they don't do this. FORM.
Now all of you have watched my videos on FORM. F-O-R-M. I learned F-O-R-M, the acronym FORM, almost 40 years ago, okay, when I learned how to prospect in the home-based business profession. Talking to people about their family and their occupation and their recreation and money and message. F-O-R-M, and not necessarily in that order.
What I usually do is talk to people about their occupation first, because it's the least obtrusive. You know, people don't get cautious when you say, hey, what do you do for a living? Whereas people could become cautious if you go, hey, you got a family? How many kids you got? You know, whoa, let's establish a relationship first.
It's not to have several conversations until you identify somebody that you and they both are connecting heart to heart. We talked about this when Will did an interview with me, and he really dug and dug to find out the reasons why I'm chatting. And you want a heart match, is what we ended up labeling it as with people.
You want to match hearts, and, you know, it is so easy, and because the majority of this meeting is women, women can relate to this more than men can, okay, it's just the way women are. And, you know, heart matching, you know, when the relationship is there, you just feel it in your heart that, oh, this is great. This is what a nice person I'm speaking with here, and vice versa.
And there's just something in the air that tells you that you have a nice relationship with the person you're chatting with. And so I always lead with, okay, you know, another reiteration of a compliment to them, but I always lead with, so tell me, what do you do? What do you do for work?
And if they say, well, I'm a stay at home mom, and if you're talking to a gal, then I usually say, really, well, how does income come in the family? If you're a stay at home mom, we know it's the husband or the significant other, right? We know that, but I always like to find that out. What do they do for work?
So not just them, but what their significant other does. And I say significant other, so I can cover all bases here because we're in 2016. Okay. So that's important. Why?
Well, I want to find out more about what they do. I don't just say, so what do you do for work? I'm a carpenter. Great. And so family, kids, no, how long have you been a carpenter?
Why did you decide to get into that profession? Who? What? When? Where?
How? And why? Those are open-ended questions that you want to ask people when you find out their family, occupation, and recreation, okay, on the FOR part of FORM.
Like you're shooting off questions. F-O-R-M chatting is an art and a science combined.
It's not just a science, okay? So you really want to become what Dale Carnegie says: genuinely interested in other people. Because when you become genuinely interested in other people based on the questions you're asking them, they will sense that, and they will open up more and more to you, okay? And so that's a vital, vital important thing. How long have you been doing that?
You must have had a good reason for deciding to get into that. Tell me why. How come? Really? And what else have you done for work besides that?
So if they say, oh, I've been at this job for a couple of years, well, let's see, you're not 20.
This is actually a roll of paper towels, but consider this a quiver, and arrows in the quiver, and of course, the archers have the quivers on their back so they can draw the arrow and shoot the arrow out of the quiver. What you want to do during the course of your entire chat is put a whole bunch of arrows in your quiver.
All right? You know, Kevin, how do I keep track of it? In the chat itself. Because you can always review that chat later, right? And you can see hints and things about why that person might not have been satisfied with what they did in that previous job to this one, that you can use later as ammunition to see if they would be open to taking a look at a way to make some extra money.
And here's the thing. A lot of people think that they have to find all these things during the conversation about their family and occupation. But the real goal is to finally get that question out to them, as if they'd be open to looking at a way to make some money. And a lot of people ask that question way too soon.
A lot of the chats that I did in November, when I sponsored almost 50 people that month just by chatting, a lot of those were second and third chats with those people, not the first chat. And don't feel like you are tied down to continue chatting and to continue it going. Sometimes I'll say, oops, hey, got to run, a little in-home emergency here. No big deal. But got to run.
Let's chat later.
It's in your chat. The chat itself keeps track of it all.
On the side of your chat, you just have a ton of names of different people you've chatted with. You can cherry pick from there. Okay? So, initiate the chat with about 10 people. Just initiate it.
Hi. How's it going? Good. Hey. How's your job?
How's, you know, if you already know what they do, how's the hairdressing business? Or, you know, whatever they do.
And then you can use common sense when chatting with people on exactly what you should be saying and when and what questions you should be asking.
I mean, and a lot of times I get it right, and some of the times I get it wrong, but I'm close, pretty close. And you can even sometimes ask, who's your favorite? Well, that's not out of line.
Girls ask each other that. I don't, as a guy, but a girl could ask a girl a question that a guy wouldn't ask. You know what I mean? So, use your common sense on that stuff. And just be yourself.
Just be you. Just be yourself. Don't try to be something you're not or be someone you're not. Because we're all individuals, and we're all special, each and every one of us.
And if you come across like you're trying to be something you're not, or you're trying to chat and use words like you don't usually do, don't do that stuff. Just be yourself. And that's so important. I've found that some of the most successful chats that I've had are with people that have been on my friends list for quite a while that I haven't chatted with, or ever chatted with. When you build your friends list, it's physically impossible for me to talk to 4,879 people that are on my list every single day.
You can't do that.
So I put "only me" in the settings.
All right? I've sung on my wall in videos where I've actually sung with music in the background.
I put on entertaining, funny, heartwarming videos on my wall. I always put positive photos and positive quotes. And sometimes I go on rants on my wall. Right? Lots of rants you'll see on Kevin's wall.
But why? Because my wall, what I don't want, is my wall cluttered with even my best. I love my sister Cheryl. Okay?
I just don't want her posting on my wall. I love my sister Mary and Clem and Tim. I just don't want them posting on my wall. I love my wife. I just don't want her posting on my wall.
That's just my policy. I'm the only one who can post on my Facebook wall, because it sets you up for success. That's why. Because all your friends that you get in Facebook will see nothing but positive, motivational, inspirational, entertaining stuff on your wall. And that attracts people to you.
That's why I have so many followers. Not because I'm such a special guy. No. It's because I've shared, and they've shared enough of my positive stuff that it goes around to more people who share my stuff. And once you hit 4,600 or 4,800 friends, nobody can friend request you anymore.
So I not only have all those followers, but more friend requests than I'm willing to respond to. But the reason I'm telling you all this is because it's important, if you want to maximize your success in Facebook chat, for you to be the only one allowed to post on your wall.
Now, occasionally I will share something on my wall from a relative or a friend or my wife. And then, of course, it gets shared on my wall. But when you share posts, your link won't show up if other people share it. I don't know if you girls knew that, or guys. So you need to have fresh posts in your Facebook.
In your Facebook, in order to maximize the shares for your links to be seen, when you put your lead capture page link in your posts on your wall. Okay, so let's get back to chatting. Another thing I like to do when I'm chatting is when somebody starts to ask me questions about my business and expresses interest in it, I will actually during the chat make maybe one response to it, but I will immediately follow up with another question that has nothing to do with business.
Now, the tendency for people who are chatting is: they're asking me about my business, awesome, want to see my link?
We always have openings, 24-7, right?
Right. But you don't let the prospect know that. You want to position yourself as a business owner. And as a business owner, I'm going to use this psychology: as a business owner, you don't run around in the streets if you're looking for a vice president of your company saying, hey, I got an opening for a vice president. My business is awesome.
Would you want to check it out to be one of my vice presidents? No. Presidents of companies don't do that, do they? They contact their secretary and say, do me a favor. Put the job posting.
We need a new VP of marketing. Put it on either monster.com or one of the job search sites. Get me 25 or 30 applications and begin the interview process. Thanks, Mildred. Cool.
And he goes back to his work. What does Mildred do? Well, she goes and puts the job posting on the job sites. And all of a sudden, she gets 30, 40, 50 resumes, right? And what does Mildred do?
Yes, no. Two piles. Yes, no, yes, no, yes, no. So now instead of 50 resumes, she's got about 22 of them. And the other 28 of them, see ya, right?
And then she looks at those 22 of them, and really looks at them, and maybe discards two and has 20 left.
They see Mildred first. And Mildred goes through the pre-interview process with those 12 people. And now she's got eight of them out of those 12 that she hands the resumes to the president.
And usually it's a couple of candidates, because one of them may want to negotiate more and he wants to have a fallback.
So the reason I went through this process is real simple. You need to learn to have business posture in your business. Okay? And when you're chatting, posture is so easy, because even though you're expanding a business and you're looking for anybody that will be willing to sign up, you don't say, my goodness, I wish I got a sign up. I need to sign up.
And if you treat your business like a business, versus, "I'm trying to get my link out. I'm trying to get my link into your hands. Oh, you expressed interest.
Oh, good, I'm going to get the link out to them as fast as possible," you just killed your posture. Okay? And guess what?
You will give your link out and you'll think they're excited about it. Oh, but you don't understand, they were excited and they want to... Don't do it. It's too soon.
Okay? "I have a business I'm expanding. You might be interested. You might not. But I don't have any openings yet.
But when I do, can I contact you?" Ooh. Now, there's a nice thing to chat to somebody. Now, if you're doing chat every day, it won't matter that the person you just said that to isn't going to see your business until next week. Will it?
Because every day you'll have somebody who you said that to last week. Does that make sense? So, you want to plant seeds in your garden. And then the little seedlings come up. And those are the ones you planted a little seed about.
Yeah, I have a business I do at home. Yes, it's very successful. Thank you. So, tell me more about whatever you were talking about. Change the subject.
Play hard to get. Because I guarantee you, when you do that, by the time that you've done that once or twice or three times with somebody, by the time you're ready to give them the link, they're going to be like, yeah, they're going to watch it right away.
Whether or not you're already successful with the business, the more posture you have and the more you put off people about taking a look at your business, the more success you're going to have in sponsoring them when the time comes for them to finally look at it. Because you've had that posture the whole time: you may not be interested, and I don't have any openings for you. Right now, I still don't have any openings.
But then the next time you talk to them, hey, Mary, remember I told you when I'd have an opening in my business, I'd let you know?
And people will follow those who are hiding something from them, or who won't tell them yet what they have.
But I can fish out someone who tells me they watched the whole video. Well, I know. Wasn't that a riot about the elephants?
Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Hmm. Yeah.
Fished it right out. So Catherine's cracking up over there. And I got everybody on, like, I can see everybody here. I don't know if you put something on the upper right, and boom, you can see everybody. So it's important that you keep posture when you're chatting with someone.
Yes, it's important to get to know them. Okay? There was a song in The King and I, "getting to know you, getting to know all about you." Right? You want to get to like you, getting to hope you like me.
And, you know, you want to get to know them and have them get to know you. But you don't want to give them your link right away. That's the biggest mistake you're making when chatting. I don't care if I've seen any of your chats yet. I can see that right up front.
The biggest mistake is: the moment they show the slightest bit of interest, a little bit of interest right there, you're on them. You give them their link. Like I said earlier, don't do it, as much as it's so tempting to.
Okay? You'll get the best success in the world by keeping it from them, than you will by shoving it down their throat the minute they show any signs of interest in what you do. Okay?
That's so important. Because if you're giving them your link on the first chat, you haven't done your job yet. You want to be able to recite to somebody else all about that person you chatted with: about their family, their children, what they do for work, why they love it, why they hate it, what they do for fun, how come they don't do what they like to do for fun more often.
See, you can gear your questions for arrows in your quiver, so that you can take those arrows out and shoot later. What do you do for fun? Oh, we love roller skating. When you say "we," who?
My family and I. We roller skate on the weekends all the time at the roller skating rink. We just love it. No kidding. Do you roller skate just on the weekends?
Yeah. How come you don't roller skate during the week? Ah, so you just asked them a question that has to do with, "I don't have time for that." Gee, why don't you have time for that? I work for a living.
Duh. I come home during the week. I'm exhausted. I got to make my family's meal, if you're talking to the woman. I got to make my family's meals and get the kids ready for bed and give whoever I got to give a bath to, or whatever.
And by the time I have time for myself, we don't even think about going roller skating during the week. Oh, okay. Well, if you could, and you did have the time, would you? Do you like it that much? Oh, yeah.
Arrow in the quiver. Because later on, after you've gotten to know them in another chat, you can say, hey, I found an awesome way that people can have more time to go roller skating with their family. Would you be open to taking a look at that? And because you knew their answer before, based on the conversation you had with them before, they're going to go, yeah.
How come every time we talk about my business, you won't give me your link? I get people getting mad at me for not giving them my link.
I say, well, because I'm not sure that you're a candidate for my business. I'm not sure it makes sense for you. Maybe in the future you might be. I don't know. And let them try to sell you on giving them your link.
Not you try to sell them on giving them your link. And that only works when you play hard to get and you plant seeds.
When somebody does something that I'm impressed with, like when I see Allison accommodating some customers, I say to her, boy, I'll tell you what.
I'll guarantee you this: that when I'm ready to, she'll not only watch it, but she'll join.
And it's nice to have a whole bunch of people that, the moment you know that you're going to give them your link, that they're going to go watch it and join you.
That gives you arrows in your quiver for the future, for when you continue chatting with them. And then when you finally run out, like a face cloth, F-O-R-M, you know all about their family, they know all about yours, you know all about what they do for a living, their complaints they have about their coworkers. I mean, even to that extent. Okay? There must be people you love at work and people you don't like as much.
Tell me about that. There's another question to ask about their job, isn't it? Not just what do you do for a living? Okay.
They are a seamstress. And what do you have for a family? Okay. They have been married, had a husband, and were divorced once. Okay.
And what do you like to do for fun? I like to roller skate. Good. So I've got the family, occupation, and recreation, so now I can get my link out, right? No.
Excuse me. You've only just begun. Okay? Because you ain't seen nothing yet. Baby, you just ain't seen nothing yet.
Okay? You need to continue and ask more about who do you like in your job and who don't you like, and why. When they tell you why they don't like somebody, they're telling you about their values. I like to find out about people's values. How do you do that?
Well, talk about who they like at work and who they don't like, and why. And ladies love to tell about why they don't like somebody, right, if you're chatting with a lady, that is.
Okay? And that's arrows in your quiver.
Now he's in a job that he's been at for four months. Got a three-year-old daughter and a seven-year-old granddaughter. Can you imagine that?
A three-year-old daughter and a seven-year-old granddaughter. Right? And his brother installs radios. Wants to get out of debt. Now, again, all of this stuff's on the back of my three by five cards.
So that when I talk to people, this goes deeper than just, "it's all in chat, Kevin." I want to know who they are, what they are, what they do, why they do it. I have a special place for all my stuff. So you really want to get into deeper more than just family, occupation, recreation. You want to find out who, what, when, where, how, and why.
And wring out the face cloth. And once you've wrung out that face cloth, all that excess water, you've got a nice dry face cloth. Now you can offer them your business, because you have reasons, not just a reason but several reasons, plural, to offer them a way to make some more money so they have more time for their recreation, more time for their family, and who knows, maybe they want to get out of their job, maybe they don't, maybe they absolutely love their job. Kevin, if somebody loves their job, are they a candidate for this business?
Okay, watch the hinges. Why? Because somebody who's already successful at what they do for a living, oh, those are perfect prospects for your business. They don't have to be dissatisfied with their job to be a prospect for your business. Why? I loved my job. I just hated my bosses.
Okay. I was successful at what I did for a living, I was earning eighty thousand dollars a year as an independent consultant when I joined the internet arena 14 years ago. Okay, I was doing very well, successful on my job. I just, my independent spirit said, get me out of here. Not because I hated my job, but because I don't like to be lorded over by bosses. That's just me, okay.
But the best candidates for your business are those that are actually happy with what they do for a living. Those are your best candidates. Here's why: not only because they might be successful, I have the best chance of being successful at this business, but they have connections, who they can get on board right away, without waiting four weeks before they're finally learning how to prospect online to get somebody in their business through the internet.
Don't discount the fact that people will sponsor people they know. And that's, you know, okay, Kev, that you're old school, and I know that, they know, not necessarily, okay. Lots of people in today's day and age who are not old school can sponsor people who they know face to face, and the more successful they are in life, the better.
So that was what I wanted to do. We have another 38 minutes left, so let's do this. I'd like to do this in an orderly fashion and give everybody a chance between now and 9:30 Eastern, because I know it's, oh my goodness, it's almost 2 a.m. If it's almost 2 a.m. where you are right now, raise your hand. Oh, Katherine. Okay. Oh my goodness. Yeah, let me, I need to put my glasses on. Louisa, okay, bless your hearts for being here. You know, you could have gotten the recording and just gone to bed, but you wouldn't have been able to get the recording if you hadn't been able to get the recording anyway.
I know that there's a lot of chats, and so I'm going to bring up the chat and I'm just going to see if anybody has asked me anything yet in the chat, because I will start with you, but let's just see. Oh my goodness, there's a lot for the Q&A session tonight at nine. I promise I won't go to two. I won't go past 9:30 if we have to. If we don't have to, then fine.
James Brown asked, can they just go to one of your links on your timeline? Okay, I'm going to get to that question first. Let's save that one for Q&A. Hope this is recording. If Kevin's business goes bad, he does have a good voice. Well, that's what I did before this, before I worked for a living. I was a singer, and I've been in several shows all my life. I was in Fiddler on the Roof seven times. I've played the lead in that musical.
Okay, so that one question in the chat that I see here, we'll start with James. So James, can they just go to one of your links on your timeline? Mm-hmm, absolutely. James, are you there? Oh, it says icy, ankle sore. Okay, thank you, Valerie, I appreciate that feedback. Icing ankle, but I'm here though. Okay, good.
Of course they're going to go to a link on your wall. Lots of people though will blow you away, they won't. So many people say, can I get a link to your business, and it's right there in front of their face on your wall, and they're like, oh my god, I'm on your wall. That doesn't mean lose your posture. So in other words, to answer that question in this regard, it's not license to lose your posture, okay? So that's probably the best way I can answer that. If they go to your link on your wall, great, but then don't lose your posture. That's a huge one.
So let's do this rather than chatting the questions. Let's see, this seems to take a lot of time. Last week Peabody said, "I work full time," and then Sherry asked a question before, so I'll go to Sherry next. But let's not do this in chat, let's actually talk if you can. So Sherry, she said, do you use a fan page on Facebook, and what's the difference between your personal home page versus a fan page?
I do not use my fan page at all. My wife does, and she does it for Facebook pay-per-click. Okay, I have a fan page, I just don't use it to chat. I chat like a regular Facebook, I chat. If you want to use your fan page, I recommend you do it for Facebook pay-per-click, that's another topic, and you can talk to whoever does pay-per-click. I know Justin has some good courses on that.
And then Leslie said, it seems to take a lot of time, I work full time, how do you recommend a person does this part-time, 30 minutes a day? Here's my answer to that, and that's going to be the last question I answer in chat, because I want to do this live. Leslie, I'm going to give you an answer you're not going to like. Whatever it takes, okay? You may not like that answer, but you have your own personal reasons for joining Empower Network, and whatever time you can put in, since it's limited based upon your working full time, I would get to immediately getting 10 initiate chats right away, and then once you have that base of 10 initiates, then you can start working those chats over a period of a few days or a week, so that you can build that relationship and heart match. And that heart match occurs when you've wrung out the face cloth and you've really gotten to know each other very well. So you can do that part-time, but quickly initiate those 10 chats so you have enough in the hopper to do with what little time you have.
Okay, let's see, Rose, you're there, can you unmute yourself?
Sure can, thank you. All right, go ahead.
Yeah, so what I wanted to know was, when they say send you the link, are you just sending them to your straight VSL, is that the only thing that you're sending them to?
Kevin, that's a good question. I send them to my lead capture page. Now, you can have a bridge video of you for two minutes before it goes to the sales page, and then put a link under that to go to the shortcut video. I use mostly a direct link from my lead capture page to the shortcut video, and then when I'm following up in my broadcast emails, I have a bridge video, but I send them to the lead capture page. That's where I send them.
Okay, all right, you didn't do anything custom, right, nothing in Insta Builder?
No, let's say you could do the capture page email, right, you want them to put that in there, and then you'll have the follow-up series from there, right.
Okay, great. Yeah, okay. Katherine, go ahead and unmute yourself.
Hi, I've unmuted myself.
Good.
Yeah, I find it quite difficult to move on to, like, getting the money side out of them. Maybe I'm, I'm a financial advisor, that's my job, and I find it kind of weird, but I find it quite difficult in the Facebook chats, I can find out what they do, I know their inside leg measurements, but to move it on to, "are you short of money," I find quite hard. Is there a trick to that, or do I just pinch my leg?
Yeah, well, it's not a trick, and once I give you this answer I think it might solve your issue. Okay, everything in our lives, family, occupation, and recreation, those three parts of FOR, can always relate back to money. Okay, for example, if someone has three children, they have lots of children, okay, I consider three or more lots of children, right, and lots of children can be very expensive, can't it?
Yeah.
See, you just said yes. Now I just did something with you called a tie-down, didn't I? You responded. Keep your microphone on, Catherine.
Okay, keep the mic on.
Okay, so in other words, I asked a question and you pretty much answered me, didn't you? I did that again right now, didn't you? You did it. Right? Wouldn't it? Couldn't it? And wouldn't you, don't you agree, isn't that true, couldn't it, wouldn't it. When you make a statement you can always tie it down with a question, can't you? Now you did it again, didn't I, you did it. So in other words, when you relate to family, you can ask a question, you can make a statement that's a fact. Wow, taking care of three children can be quite expensive, can't it? Can't it?
Yeah, right.
So, and then you can tie down their statement, oh, it's so expensive nowadays, isn't it, and you can follow up with a question to tie down to actually get them to say yes. Tie-downs are designed to say yes, aren't they? See, I didn't say yes, I didn't say yes, I just did it again. And of course, when I do it in person I'm nodding. Tie-downs are good. Wow, you must love your job, don't you?
Yes, I love my job.
Okay, so if you love your job, would you, if they stopped paying you, would you still work there? Now this might sound like an odd question, but do you love your job so much that if they stopped paying you, you would continue working there?
No.
Okay, just checking. What is it about your job that you don't love enough of it to keep working if they stopped paying you? So you can relate questions of their family and their occupation and their recreation to lead them to the money, to them wanting more money for some reason. If sky was the limit, what would you do in life? I'm going to ask you an off-the-wall question. Mary, say, if the sky were the limit, what would you do in life if you possibly could? And they'll tell you their dream. Tell me more about that, when they answer it, don't just, okay, now do I say tell me more about that, and they will. So when you get people talking about their dreams, it's a nice segue for you, who's a little uncomfortable trying to figure out how do I get to the money part. Does that make sense?
Yeah, okay.
I hope that helped.
Thank you, it did.
You're welcome. Brenda, are you listening, Brenda? Okay, Brenda's not listening.
No, I was not, I'm meeting myself.
All right, what's your question?
I have a Facebook page that is for my business, and then one for just personal, but I think you said that you do most of your chatting on your personal page, not your business page.
Because that's where all our friends are, okay, all right, so we want to target our friends for chatting, not necessarily someone who hasn't come to us before.
Maybe, because whenever I was going through and trying to do the little exercise you wanted us to do, I tried to target those people that I saw that have liked my post or commented on my post, or this type of thing, but are not necessarily my friends, and of course I didn't get much interaction. So perhaps that's the reason, I should have focused on my friends for chatting.
Not necessarily, and that's the science part. Remember when I said earlier that this is an art and a science, just because you hadn't had results with those people doesn't mean it doesn't work, you may want to change up your approach on those people, okay? And, you know, just compliment a lot, be genuine in those compliments with people that are not friends that you're talking to that have commented on posts, okay? Complimenting, I started out with something like, "thank you so much for commenting on my post, I have seen you here before, you know, I'd like to get to know you a little bit better." Okay, well, rather than "I'd like to get to know you a little bit better," "please send me a friend request." Okay, go right to the source and ask the horse, he'll give you the answer that you'll endorse, okay, that's from an old TV show here in the states, you know, Mr. Ed, that's right, yeah. You want to keep on yakking, okay, and just ask them to be friends. Sherry's loving this, she's like, "I haven't seen you," I just dated myself, thanks a lot. Okay, anyway, so yeah, that's all, just don't say, "I'd like to get to know you," just go right to it, please send me a friend request, okay, and they will, a good portion of them. So that's a good question, I'm going to go on to the next because we're limited on time, but thank you, Brenda, for participating.
Louisa, hi.
Yes, thank you. Now, there's a couple of things, I was like, do you ever ask for an email address without giving them the capture page, just say, you know, "would you like to get on my email list?"
No, okay, no, and here's why. It's obvious you don't want to be obvious, right? By asking for an email address clearly, you want that for some ulterior motive, that's how they're thinking, okay, all right? So you're better off building a relationship with them and letting them put their email address in your lead capture page, because they wanted to see your site so badly, because you had built that rapport in the proper fashion that I just described, that you will get their email address. You just need to earn it, and in a way that is not so obvious, okay? That's a good question though, thank you.
Did you want to follow up, Louisa?
Can I? Yeah, because I've gone through the whole thing with somebody and got to the point, they looked at the video and everything, and then he said he didn't have the money to sign up, the seven dollars, so I just left it. He then got back in touch and said he wanted to speak to me again on the phone because he had lots more questions for me, and I said, really, well, I haven't got much more to say because it's all in the video, you know, there's nothing more for me to discuss with you. So what would you say to someone like that?
Okay, well, there's a number of ways you can handle that, and again it's based upon your rapport with him and exactly what you've talked to him about. If he didn't have the seven dollars and it kept him back the first time, and something like that, just on the surface without knowing the background of your conversation with him, I would typically say, "before we do that, what's the most pressing question that you have that I can answer right now in chat?" Okay, because usually it's not questions plural, it's one particular question that might be holding him back. And then if he says, "well, I do have more than one of the questions," I'll come back with, "I understand that, but what I'd like to know is, usually there's one major reason that holds people back, in addition to not having the seven dollars," not instead of, always say "in addition to," because you want to validate that they have a legitimate reason why they can't sign up. So I always say, "in addition to that, what else is holding you back, what's the biggest question you have, besides the money?" And if you didn't get to that, I would say, here's what I would say to follow up. So in other words, you don't have the seven dollars, but in addition to that, you were wondering if you have to talk to your friends and family, maybe that was one of his objections. "Do I have to talk to my friends or family?" Okay, so in other words, you didn't have the seven dollars, but you were wondering if you have to talk to friends and family. He could show you how to build this business without talking to friends and family, would you be ready to get started? And if he says, "well, no, not really," aha, don't handle the wrong objection, Louisa. Always find the real one, because I won't give you the real one until you dig a little bit. In other words, you said the seven dollars, "if I could show you a way that you didn't have to approach friends and family, you'd be open to taking a look at it?" "Well, no, not really." "Okay, well, in addition to that, what else is holding you back?" "Well, you know, I tried something like this once before and I failed, I'm afraid I'll fail again." "I can understand that, so in other words, if I could show you step by step how to make this work for you and hold your hand in the process, you'd be ready to get started?" "Yes." Great, here's the link. Go ahead and sign up. That's how you dig out the real reason, and then if I can handle that, you'd be ready to go. "Yeah, great, let's get you started, here's the link." "Oh, and you're in." Okay, and that takes a little professionalism, but now that it's recorded you can refer back to this.
Okay, great, thanks.
You're welcome. Valerie, unmute.
I'm unmuted, okay, cool. All right, I had a question, just curious, so many, but I'll start with this: is there a reason why you go from capture page straight to the sales video in chat, and the link, it's been a while, I haven't looked at the link underneath your videos and images, do those go to capture page, because it's colder traffic?
No, first of all, to answer the first part of the question, sometimes I'll bring them to a page that has a bridge and sometimes I won't. The ones I do have a bridge for are the ones I don't have that much of a relationship with, that bridge will give a little more about me. The ones I don't are most of them who I've already wrung out the face cloth with in chat, and they know who I am, so I'll get right from the lead capture page direct to the shortcut. And what was the other half of that question?
The other half was, when you're posting, and again I could just go look, but I have you here, so, when you're posting, the link underneath your images, does that go to capture page or bridge page?
I'm assuming, yeah, no, yeah, here's why: because it's passive, and I'm not actually advertising it. My links in my Facebook, every one of them, on all of my posts, are just passive links. I don't talk about them necessarily, most of the time. If I post a funny video, that's just there. If somebody signs up I know they're serious, I'll get less sign-ups, but I just want to capture the lead, capture the lead, capture the lead, so that my broadcast emails will give them the know-life-trust factor of Kevin when they start receiving those. So I work my list with my broadcast emails and I close my sales with that versus sending them to a bridge from my cold site in Facebook. So that's just my personal preference, you can do it either way, it might be even more effective with a bridge, I just put it in like my lead capture page, I let it go right to the sales page when I post my links in my video, in my Facebook posts, rather.
Okay, sharing. Thanks, Val.
Thank you.
If you wouldn't mind just muting. Sherry, you have any questions?
Yeah, so I asked you the one about the fan page versus your personal page, your home page, and you said you don't use your fan page, which is fine, I'm still trying to understand what I need my fan page for. So a couple of things, you know, I saw in your videos, I'm still a little confused, when you copy and when you upload your videos to Google groups, I'm switching off the fan page stuff, I'm going over to groups. Okay, when you post to your group, sometimes I can just copy and paste, so if I've already posted my blog to Facebook, I can just copy that link and then paste it in other places. So I upload my video to YouTube, I download it to Facebook, so it's not posted directly to Facebook, and then I can just copy that link and post it in multiple places on Facebook. So when you want to do your groups, should I always be doing it your way, or can I still just copy and paste it into those groups?
No, you can do it the way you're doing, either way doesn't matter. I stopped posting in groups two years ago. I don't post in groups anymore, and eventually you won't need to either.
Yeah, the only reason you want to post in groups is to get engagement. Go back to the same group you posted in and see if anybody has commented at all. If people are not commenting on your videos that you post in groups, you're wasting your time.
I'm still new, Kevin, so again, I watched all your videos from the November timeframe, so I'm just following through what I just learned.
Yeah, okay, but here's what you want to watch in groups. You want to go back to the groups you're posting your videos in and see if anybody's commenting at all. If nobody's commenting in your group that you're posting videos in, you're wasting your time. Okay, that's a good indicator. What would have been the benefit of posting in groups? Well, to get comments on your videos, so that's the reason, so that you can chat with those people. Okay, that's the purpose of the group, not necessarily for them to click on your link, but to get comments so you can chat with them.
And so, be aware that if you're not getting comments on your videos in the groups, you're wasting your time. Here's why: most of the groups that people post in are business-opp groups, and here's what people do in a business-opp group: they dump and leave. Dump and leave. That's all they do. They don't look at each other's stuff. There's no engagement. It's a waste of time, and so you want to be cognizant of that. When you're posting in a group, if you don't see anybody engaging at all, don't post in that group anymore.
Okay, because you're wasting your time. And then, kind of a follow-up to one of the other questions, when you're talking in chat, do you ever want to let them know that with the link that you're going to, they're going to have to enter their email address? Do you ever tell them that?
You don't need to tell them that, okay? Here's why: most of the world gets that. When you're new, and I can understand you wanted to be sympathetic to that, but be more empathetic, people will get that. So, in other words, you don't have to explain that, "oh, by the way, when you get to my page, put in your email address." You don't have to do any of that. Okay?
Cool, okay, yeah. That's cool, thank you.
You're welcome, Sherry. You're very welcome.
There's another Sherry here, Sherry Starnes. We have another Sherry here. Go ahead, do you have any questions?
No, I'm listening, I'm good right now, thank you.
All right, cool.
I've actually had some questions answered already.
Oh, good, I figured that would happen. Yeah, good. Brian Greene, thank you. You're welcome. Brian Greene, are you there?
Yes, yes, I'm here. Yeah, a lot of my questions have been answered as well. I really don't have anything to add at this point, it's been a great value so far.
Oh good, I'm taking good notes, so if something pops up, if I have another question, I'll test the group again.
All right, cool, appreciate that. Thanks, Brian. Leslie Peabody, Nadia, I'll get to you, and Katherine, I'll be back at you in a minute.
So I did have a follow-up question, because when I've tried to chat before, I lose track of them, Kevin, in my chat menu. Like you have a hundred chats going over a number of days, and I don't do the follow-up, I lose them, and I don't follow up a day or two or three later. Is that your business card thing, your index card, is that what keeps you focused on who you need to chat with next?
Yeah, that's a good question, or a notepad, and just put their name in a notepad, name in a notepad the day you chatted. And here's what you do: in your Facebook Messenger, copy their name and go to the search on the upper left, paste their name in there and hit enter, and boom, they'll come right up to the top, and there's your chat with them the last time you chatted. So that's how to find somebody, instead of going and trying to find them, which is a pain in the part we sit on. So instead of doing that, you can use either a notepad or a 3x5 card system, whatever is easy for you, and use the search field in chat. That'll kill that issue.
Thank you.
We're good? Nadia.
Thanks, Leslie. You need to unmute me. There we go. My question is, already for a long time I'm chatting with them, and a little bit I did not do as you asked today, but what I did do, it was they were interested, and I gave them a link and asked "what did you like most?", and some of them came back, some of them didn't. And they disappeared, kind of, not answering me anymore. I keep following them, do you keep following them? Is that what you're asking? If several times already I approached them to ask what did they like most from the video, and they're not answering, do I keep track, following them, or how do you do it?
No, no, just move on. Just move on. Just keep, and go. There's a philosophy in this business that you want to learn how to develop, and if you learn the secret to this philosophy, it will help you from being frustrated about people that don't reply after they watch the video, and if they don't answer you back, or if they won't give their full reason why they won't join.
This philosophy works, and if you get this philosophy right from the beginning, you're going to be very successful. You ready? Okay. Next! Great.
Great, thank you, that's all, the philosophy of next. It works like a dream, Nadia. Lots of people around, hungry. You know, the philosophy of next. Thank you.
This one, it's a bunch of people, I watched it since July, I was following, it's amazing, I've been doing this, and I say, okay, since then, nobody signed with me through chat. I said, okay, since I'm doing something wrong, now I understand how to do it.
Yes. Bye-bye.
Nice, thank you. Now, Catherine, just in all fairness, Nadia, thank you, I'm going to come back to you in a minute, but there's three more I want to ask questions from, and then I'll come back to you. Okay, so Crystal, you're next.
Next.
Hello.
Hi, no, I don't really have any questions, most of them haven't been answered.
Oh, no questions, wow, we've had like three people with no questions here tonight. I think I did my first part pretty well then.
Huh, not too shabby.
Thank you.
No, thank you, Crystal. And let's see, who else is next here? This is Miguel. Miguel.
I know that, I know that, I'm going to tell you. Your English is not, Portuguese is your language of choice, however, I'm not Portuguese, but if you have a question, please feel free to ask.
Hi, Kevin, hi everyone. Yeah, yeah, I'm okay with English.
Oh, okay, cool, cool. So, my question is, I have a crazy agenda, so on a daily basis I have some companies to manage, too much work on a daily basis, and it's a very hard time for me to manage to chat live, because I give classes, I have companies to manage, and too many meetings and so on. So chatting live is very, very highly more effective when I do it, but it's really challenging for me to find time to chat live. My question for you is, what would you do? Do you only chat live, or what kind of strategy would you use to manage that without live chatting?
Okay, good question. You can chat semi-live, here's what I mean by that, or not live, almost, you know, chat can be almost like email but different, because you're not waiting for somebody to send it to you, it's there. When you get back to it, it's there. When you let people know right up front that because of your busy schedule, if you begin to chat with them and you cannot continue that chat with them, that you will pick up where you left off when you get back to your computer, you will be amazed at how many people will accept that, and you can talk back and forth with people over a period of two days where it would take me and somebody else 10 minutes. So, in other words, you can chat in Facebook, but it may not be live, it may be semi-live. You know, you go in, you say, hey, how's it going, sorry I haven't been able to respond because I have a busy schedule, but the way I chat is I can get back to you, you know, I'm going to chat with you, as soon as I can, but not necessarily immediately. Is that okay with you? And ask them that, and then they'll tell you if that's okay with them or not, and that's all you can do. If you can't chat live, then maybe if you don't want to chat the way I just suggested, maybe chatting is not something that's conducive to your business, and you might be more into doing something along the line of paid advertising versus chatting.
Yeah, no, I love chatting.
Okay, good.
And I can build rapport chatting, that's very cool, that's really cool, that's why I'm here, that's cool for me, sure. My only fear is the live thing.
Yeah, when you make it clear to them, to the people you're chatting with, that your time is sporadic, that you may not be able to reach them right away, if you're not able to respond right away because of your schedule with work, people understand. You'll be amazed at how understanding people are, especially when you tell them that right up front. So that's what I would do, is let them know that, so that they don't think that you're ignoring them or not placing as much of a value on that chat. But if you let them know right up front, "with me, I love to chat, but because of my schedule I'm unable to do a long continuity, do you mind if every so often I chat, I come back later and answer your question or talk, is that okay with you?" And tell you what, people respect that kind of honesty and they won't read your mind and think that you're neglecting them. Make sense?
Yeah, that's cool, Kevin, thank you so much.
And great to be here, thank you.
Thanks, Miguel. And Catherine, we're back to you again, I know you had another question.
Oh, hang on, you're breaking up, you're freezing a little bit.
You may have several programs open and it's causing you to freeze up.
No, we're not getting it, you're breaking up, Catherine.
Kevin, would it be okay if we had Catherine write it in the chat box so she can get her question answered?
Yes, okay, yeah, the one exception, yeah. Go ahead and put it in chat, Catherine.
I just said, Catherine, please put your question here. So if she can still hear us, then fine, if not, wow, look at the time. We wanted an hour and a half, and look at this, Vanessa, how did we do?
Huh, yeah, perfect, timing could not have been more perfect, huh.
Oh, my word. Will said, "Kevin, you got 90 minutes," and I was like, okay, we'll do that. So I'm sorry that we lost Catherine, I think she looks like we lost her too. So anyway, well, it's been a real pleasure and an honor to be able to help here, and I hope that what I've done here has been able to help people, and that the answers to questions were able to help others as well. One more, Louisa, and then we have to close it down.
Yeah, I've had a message from James Brown, who obviously can't get through.
Oh yeah, there we go, it's gone to everyone, it came to me privately, now it's gone. Is there any time that we're too late in sharing our link, he's asking? Oh, I see it, a link spaced out in chat, pulled away.
No, it's never too late to send somebody a link, James. So you reply to him, Louisa, if you can, rather than me typing it out: it's never too late to send somebody a link, James.
