How To Connect Any Blog Topic To Your Business (Part 9)
Audio only · watch on YouTube
Sean Ali had never blogged before three months earlier. By the night he joined this Empower Network Tuesday call to walk through his keyword process, one of his blogs had brought in 3,057 visitors since January and his second blog, started only a week before, had already pulled in 138. Combined, that was 3,175 visitors from free traffic alone, plus something close to 100 leads in the previous five or six days, all without a custom domain or paid ads. That result was the spine of the session, hosted on Empower Network’s regular Tuesday night broadcast and built around the platform’s new multiple-blogs feature.
The platform just opened the door to three blogs, and it may not stay open
The occasion for the call was a release: Kalatu, Empower Network’s blogging platform, had just made it possible for members to run up to three blogs instead of one. The company’s first CMO, introducing the session, said the feature had been one of the most requested in the community and warned that it would not last at the basic membership level forever. “That’s actually going to go away. Eventually there won’t be multiple blogs at the basic level. So if you’re in right now, you’re lucky,” he told viewers, urging them to set their blogs up while they could. Michelle, who ran the interview portion of the night, said she had lost count of the Facebook messages, texts and emails asking when multiple blogs would arrive, and framed the whole session around one practical question: once you have more than one blog, what do you actually put on it, and how do you keep it going.
Sean Ali’s method, step by step
Sean, 26, blogging from Canada, said he started the day Kalatu first launched, while he was in Costa Rica with his wife between Empower events. His approach began before any writing: get in the right mood. “Get in the right zone and the right energy, get inspired so you can go put out good content, because the other person on the other side of the computer reading your stuff, they’re going to feel your energy,” he said, recommending inspiring music to get the blood flowing before sitting down to write.
From there his process was mechanical and repeatable. He runs two blogs, one about music and one covering everything else he’s interested in, spirituality, health, marketing, and the first decision each session is which blog to write on. Then he opens two tools: Google’s Keyword Planner and keywordtool.io. He picks topics people are already searching for rather than whatever he feels like discussing, using the law of attraction as his working example, and builds long tail keyword phrases rather than the bare term, something like “how to use the law of attraction to attract love” rather than just “law of attraction.”
He places that keyword phrase in five specific spots: the post title, the category field, the tags field, the alt text and title of the featured image, and inside the body content itself. As he put it, Google is “a robot but I’m smart enough to figure out this is what the blog post is about” once it sees the keyword repeated in those places.
For content, Sean leans heavily on material that already exists. He opens by asking the reader a question tied to the keyword, then embeds a relevant YouTube video he finds by searching the keyword phrase and clicking the video tab in Google, adds related images and quotes, and sometimes pastes chunks of other people’s articles with the source credited. Call to action links go in text form, not buttons, first right after the opening video, again worked into images that link to an opt-in page, and finally as a P.S. beneath the sign-off. Michelle noted that the P.S. spot works because “we tend to kind of scan through blog posts sometimes… but usually a PS will catch our attention.”
Publishing is only half the job
Sean was explicit that writing the post is one step and getting people to it is another. His syndication routine, done in minutes after hitting publish, runs through Pinterest and Twitter first, then a free tool called Index Kings, which submits the URL to search engines, then manual submission pages for Digg and StumbleUpon, then Pingler.com, then an email to his list, and finally posting into relevant Facebook groups, which he was careful to note has to be a targeted group. “If you’re talking about a lot of attraction, you generally wouldn’t put that in a dog and cat group,” he said. Asked what he uses to track results, he named the tracking code box built into Kalatu as his favorite feature, and said he runs both Google Analytics and the free Stat Counter service simultaneously, because they show different things.
Different blogs for different promises
The second guest, Laura Parrish, who had narrowly missed being voted the community’s blogging idol at the previous event, picked up on why the multiple blog structure matters beyond keywords. She argued for writing what is genuinely on your heart rather than content built purely for search engines, warning that readers can feel when a post is written only for SEO. Her example was television: if a viewer tunes in expecting House on Fox at 8pm and finds something else, they tolerate it once, but stop coming back if it happens again. A blog works the same way. If Sean’s music readers show up expecting music and instead find posts about the NBA, they lose the reason they subscribed in the first place, which is exactly the case for keeping separate blogs for separate audiences rather than mixing everything into one feed.

Did you know that you'll receive an exclusive Hotel Guest Empower Network Unleashed Goodie Bag loaded with discount coupons to local attractions, exclusive Hotel Guest Unleash Event Swag, and Empower Network merchandise? Not to mention the opportunity to network and hang out with the leaders and other people just like you. Also, you'll be entered into a drawing to win an intimate dinner with Dave and Jonathan. This exclusive dinner will allow you a special opportunity to talk about your goals and dreams and get feedback directly from these masterful minds. Listen for just a sec to what two of the lucky dinner winners of the Lake Las Vegas Revolution event had to say about having dinner with Dave and Jonathan. Those who are staying here at the hotel were able to, their names put in a raffle, and my name was drawn.
So I got to have dinner with all those awesome guys. It's just like sitting down with family. Empower is a family. It always feels like family, whoever I'm talking with, or hanging out with. I am still, you know, just pinching myself to be able to have that opportunity to spend that hour. Congratulations on making the right decision to join us in Nashville to make sure that you're with the crowd and networking like crazy.
We encourage you to reserve your room now before they sell out. The event's happening at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center and the link to get your special Empower Network room rate is just below this video. Staying in an alternative hotel just doesn't give you the same experience because all of the networking, fun, and action happens at the event hotel. There are still rooms available but they're going fast and you don't want to let this opportunity slip by because once it sells out, you will lose the opportunity to network with thousands of other Empower affiliates who are staying at this amazing hotel and just get what you're talking about. Who knows, you may have your breakthrough moment chatting with a group of like-minded individuals in the lobby or hanging out at the bar. We'd hate for you to miss out on the opportunity for these spontaneous moments of inspiration.
Talk about the way to get energized and pumped up. You'll lose the opportunity to meet top leaders and have those chance conversations in the hallways and elevators that make the connection you need or hear what's really working right now in their business. That can make a huge difference in yours. Besides, you should reward yourself for all the hard work you've done in your business by staying at a beautiful hotel. There's no need to rent a car, get up early, and fight traffic to get to the event probably late and feel pressured to leave early, missing the networking so you can get back to some other hotel. So click the button below this video and book your room now at the special rates we've negotiated for you.
And I look forward to meeting you personally at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville. First CMO of Empower Network here. First of all, how's my audio? Because we were having some issues with those videos and if my audio is good, just let me know. It sounds good and there's no clicking or anything of that weird nature going on. Let's see.
See if anybody's actually paying attention. Alright, doesn't seem like there's any problems. We keep rolling then. If there are issues, let us know. And since it's the beginning of the broadcast, we will start this puppy right over and rid ourselves of whatever gremlins are in the machine right now. So essentially, I don't have a lot to say about tonight except for I'm excited because we made a new release.
And it's something that all bloggers could do, but we're proud to have released it to people who are users of the Kallatu blogging platform. A couple things you can notice over here on my left, your right, if you're not a member of Empower Network and you find some value from this and you see the beauty of this community, which I love dearly, try it out. It's $7 to get started and that's what that big giant button is. Now, the other stuff on the page is for anybody who's already a member and you guys are planning on attending the event, I talked Bonnie into talking the management of the Gaylord Hotel in Nashville to give us a few days extension because we wanted to give everybody a chance to actually get registered with their rooms because room rates almost doubled. So she extended it from yesterday all the way until Friday and we'll be sending out announcements reminding you guys and everything. Basically, we just don't want you guys having to pay extra.
We make nothing really off of the hotel rooms and all that stuff. Not really, it's nominal. So the point of it is really for you guys to get it before the price of the hotel rooms go up because we get a special rate and that only lasts until Friday. So make sure you book your reservations right now if you plan on showing up at the event. Hopefully you're planning on showing up at the event because the thing that Dave Wood's going to do at the event, what he's actually going to be teaching on and what we're going to be focused on, it's a game changer. Dave and I have been going back and forth on it and so I really kind of want to highlight that just a little bit.
Make sure you show up at the event, make sure you register. That's what the text links are for. But really, Tuesday nights is just as much for people who aren't a member of Empower Network yet to experience the culture and the community and what we do around here. So tonight we have something very exciting. We have some really cool guests, first of all, and I'll let Michelle kind of run through who's on for what. But the gist is we added multiple blogs to the Clotube blogging platform and we wanted to get some people on who were having success with that.
So we have one gentleman on who Michelle will introduce you to and he's getting some pretty amazing results by running multiple blogs and that's a feature that everybody's been really clamoring for. So we decided to go live with it and let everybody get access to it who's a member right now. That's actually going to go away. Eventually there won't be multiple blogs at the basic level. So if you're in right now, you're lucky. Make sure you get your multiple blogs set up and listen to what Michelle and our guests have to say tonight.
And with that, I'm going to actually pass it to Michelle, have a little bit of a conversation here with Michelle so we can talk through what's going to be covered tonight. Michelle, how are you doing this evening? I am awesome. How are you? You're always awesome. It sounds like your voice is actually almost back.
I almost have a voice again. I know you didn't believe me. So for those of you who don't know, who aren't on the inside of the corporate team, Michelle's voice was out for pretty much a solid week. And we planned this out before she got, basically before her voice went out for the most part. And it was like, oh great, Michelle, you know blogging better than anybody else on the team. We'll get some really cool guests on.
You can ask them questions. And then it was like, speech crash. That's my sound effect for when things go drastically awry. And Michelle's voice was like totally gone. So now it's back, which means she can actually deliver the content much better than me. I could hype it up because I'm really excited about it because I know how much people wanted it.
I know that you can hear the results that you can get from it as Michelle's quizzing our guests tonight. But with that, I'm going to pass it off to you, Michelle. I will be around. I will be in the chat and sort of guiding things. I'm excited to be releasing this or the fact that we have released this. For you to talk through, what is it, the 17, how many points is it?
I can't remember. Seventeen. I got it right. There are 17 facets of doing multiple blogs and Michelle knows them. Our guests know them. So I'm just going to stop talking.
Thank you for listening to me for a few moments, everybody. I'm going dark on you, Michelle. Do your thing. All right. Well, thank you for kicking us off and reminding everybody to grab their event tickets. Book your hotel room.
As Mars said, links are on the page and you don't want to miss the opportunity to get them now. Room block expires Friday. Rights go way up. Ticket prices are also going up. So make sure you get those. We do have some awesome stuff planned out for you tonight.
And one of the things that I lost count of how many times people emailed me or Facebook messaged me or for a few of you who have my phone number, even text messaged me, it was, Michelle, when do we get multiple blogs? When do we get multiple blogs? I don't even know how many times you guys asked for this. So when it finally went live, we were all very excited to be able to kind of slow down all those messages and be able to say, here you go. Multiple blogs are live. If you haven't checked it out yet, make sure you take a look in your back office.
You can now set up up to three blogs. And I hope you were listening when Mars mentioned this earlier. I just want to say it again and make sure you didn't miss it. Set your blogs up now. That feature may not stay available at the level that you are subscribed at. So take advantage of it.
Announcements coming soon about what's happening with multiple blogs. But right now, you can set up up to three blogs. And there are some awesome ways that you can use those to bring in more traffic, more leads, more profit, and really build your business faster by creating blogs that are for different niches, different audiences. And that's kind of what we're going to talk about tonight is how do you do that? How do you do that? How do you decide what to blog about?
How do you get that second blog going? And how do you keep up with your blog? So we've got guests on tonight who are consistently publishing content, who can answer your questions about multiple blogs, about staying consistent, staying motivated, about where to put call to actions in your blog post. If you've been wondering, I've got content here. How do I get people to it? How do I get these people who are reading it to actually click to join my team or to get on my list?
That's the kind of stuff that we're going to be covering tonight. So I'm excited to share that with you. If you've got questions while I'm talking with our guests this evening, put them in the question box or the chat and Tara will get those to us. But I'm excited to bring our guests on tonight. I would love to know in chat if you've set up a second or third blog yet. If you have, put a note down there.
Let us know. If you're thinking about it, share that too. The chat's a great place to kind of brainstorm ideas as well. So without any further going on for me about how excited I am that we finally have multiple blogs and I can answer everyone's Facebooks and texts and emails with, yes, it's available. Let me introduce our first guest. Tonight we have Sean Ali with us who is using the multiple blogs feature already and publishing a lot of content on his blogs.
Can you say hello? Hello, hello. Can you hear me? Absolutely. You sound great. All right.
So can you tell us a little bit about each of your blogs and what inspired you to start blogging and specifically how long have you been blogging? Because I think that might surprise our audience. Sure thing. Well, first of all, I just want to start with some gratitude. I'm really thankful for this opportunity to share this information, this value with the team, with the community. And if you're not in Empower, you'll understand this is a team.
It's a community. We're here to help each other. So my name is Sean Ali, 26 years old. I'm in Canada currently. And how I got started with this Kalatu blog, it's actually really cool. So three months ago, let me give you a quick story.
Three months ago, well, three months ago in January, I was in Costa Rica with my wife for a couple months. We were there since like from the prior event in Empower Network, which is like November or October up until January, we were in Costa Rica. And the Kalatu blog was just about to launch. And I remember the first day it launched, I watched the webinar with Michelle and I think Mars, Dave Wood, and Justin Brangia probably. And I got so excited, so inspired because I knew that it was the time for all of us to get our blog post ranked in Google so we can get more traffic, more website visitors, leads, and really expand our businesses. And that's why I really got excited with Kalatu three months ago.
I've been blogging with Kalatu since that first day when it dropped. So it's been about three months now. And in those three months, I've gotten crazy results. I'm excited to share them with you. And I hope I answered your questions, Michelle. Absolutely.
So what are some of the results that you're seeing? And again, you've only been blogging on Kalatu for three months. You just started your second blog when we released that feature. So these are results that have happened really quickly for you. Totally. I totally agree.
So let me give you some stats. I was looking at my analytics today, and I'm going to give you the stats. So I have two blogs currently set up with Kalatu. And my first blog is the one I got started with back in January. So I've been blogging on it very heavily, like every day pretty much. I might miss one or two days, like on a weekend, but I catch back up on the weekdays.
For example, yesterday I did ten blog posts, five on each blog. So my first blog, since it got started back in January, from then till now it has gotten 3,057 visitors. Let me say that again. That's 3,057 visitors since January till now on one blog. The second blog, I just started my second blog March 25, which was last week, and already it's gotten 138 visitors on the second blog. So if I combine both of those statistics, that's 3,175 visitors since January till now.
So I'm excited because that's all free traffic. Right. You're doing free traffic strategies for that, which we're going to talk a little bit about. I know that's part of your process. And the cool thing is that you were able to go from zero to getting traffic like that and getting that traffic to opt-in. I know that's one thing Tara talked with you about, was how many opt-ins a day you're already seeing from this, which is really cool.
So you mentioned you've got two different blogs. I know you have a really specific process for how you've managed to get search engine traffic and to really, really quickly show up. I know when we were on a call this morning, Sean shared with me what he had blogged about today. So I went to Google and I typed it in to see if I could find it, and his blog post was already in Google. So I don't know what time you published that, but we had our call early this morning and it had already shown up. So it's working to quickly get into Google and for people to be able to find you that way, which is really cool.
So why don't you go ahead and start and share with us what those steps are that you're taking specifically. Sure, thanks. So what I want you to do is definitely take notes. This is very important stuff. It's technical, it's very scientific. At the same time, it's not like some mystery or just random stuff.
It's very specifically laid out. So take notes. I'm going to be very, very precise with it. And the first thing I want to start with, before we even talk about blogging and the technicalities of it, is I want to talk about getting in the zone. In other words, getting in the right mindset before you start to write and get blogging, because I believe it's really important to get in the right zone and the right energy, get inspired so you can go put out good content, because the other person on the other side of the computer reading your stuff, they're going to feel your energy. They can kind of feel stuff.
We can all feel energy, so get in the right zone. Put on some inspiring music and get life inside of you. Get your blood flowing, get pumped up because you're about to do some amazing stuff. So that's my first tip is getting in the right mindset and getting in the zone with some positive inspiring music. I hope that's a benefit to you. Yeah, it really does.
It helps if you know what inspires you and helps you focus, because that can be a challenging part, especially if you're managing multiple blogs, because you do have a lot of content to put together when you've got more than one blog. So knowing how to get focused is a really good thing. I would love to know in chat what helps you guys get focused. Sometimes just hearing what works for other people. Music can work, gives you some ideas of how to find that zone for yourself. Totally.
Hey, if music's not your thing, listen to an Inner Circle call. Whatever works for you, that's my point. So once you get in the zone, the next thing, step number one is, first of all, basically if you have multiple blogs, decide which blog you're going to go blog on. So I have two blogs. One of my blogs is mainly about music. It's about music and that niche.
And my second blog is about everything not to do with music that I'm interested in. For example, spirituality, health, and marketing. So depending on which blog I want to blog on, that's the first step is choosing which blog you're going to blog on. So if I choose my spirituality blog, for example, the first step is, I mean the second step, sorry, the first step is choosing which blog you're going to blog on. The second step is to get your tools out. So for tools, I can do a screen share in a second, but I'm just going to start giving you some value right now.
There's two tools that I want to give you today that you need to have in your arsenal when you're blogging. The first tool is Google's Keyword Planner, the Keyword Planner. So go ahead, go to Google.com, type in Google Keyword Planner. Go ahead, sign in. They'll ask you to sign in to your Google account. And you need this tool.
I can show you in a couple minutes how I use this tool, but that's the first tool. The second tool you've got to pull up. If you go to Google, type in keywordtool.io. That's keywordtool.io. These are the two tools that you must have in your arsenal if you want to make really, really good content blog posts. Step number three, this is where you've got to understand that blogging is about getting people to read your content and find your content.
So you want to blog about stuff that people are actually looking for. You know, a quick little story. I had somebody who messaged me I think the other day, and they said something like, they're blogging, but nobody is finding their stuff or they're not getting traffic and stuff like that. So that instantly said, well, they're blogging about stuff that people are not looking for. So the first thing is getting in topics, write about topics that people are looking for. So if it's on the topic of spirituality, I'm going to give you some examples.
For example, the law of attraction, right? Everybody is talking about the law of attraction, et cetera, et cetera. There's lots of topics you can even go about that. But my point is to talk about stuff that people are already looking for. That's very important. That's a great tip.
That's something that Chris Recker talked a lot about at VIP Day 2 events ago. I'm just going to mention, if you don't have your event ticket yet, make sure you get your VIP tickets to the event. But Chris talked about something called news jacking, and it's where you do exactly what Sean is sharing right now. You look for what's popular, what are the hot topics, and then you go write about that. Using these keyword tools can help you see what are people searching for. And if you watch people who are getting traffic and leads and sales, it's one of the strategies that they're using is to go look at what are people actually interested in, what are they searching for, what's the hot topics in the news, and taking those and incorporating them into their blog posts.
Hey, Michelle, did you want me to do a screen share right quick to show those tools, or should we just keep rolling? Let's go ahead and roll through the rest of your steps, and then we can see what questions the audience has. Sure thing. All right, so at this point in time, you've chosen your blog, you've got your keyword tools opened up, and you've hopefully found your topic at this point in time. So here's another tip. If you still can't figure out what topic to talk about, what do you like?
Just think about this for a second. What do you like? I like law of attraction, I like spirituality, meditation, et cetera, et cetera. So those are instantly topics that I can start talking about right off the bat, and I know other people are looking for them. So that's another tip is ask yourself, what do you like? And go from there.
So you're going to open up your keyword tool. For example, let's use the law of attraction for the example for today. So we're going to go to the keyword tool, type in law of attraction, and it's going to spit back out a bunch of long tail keywords that people are already looking for. So it's not like some, go ahead, go ahead. I was just going to say, and that's one of the things that when you're doing multiple blogs, it's really important is to pick topics that you're passionate about, that you enjoy writing about, because it's something that does require you to invest the time to sit there and learn more about it, to see what's popular, and if you pick a topic you don't like, you're going to have a hard time sticking with it. So make sure you pick something that you do enjoy writing about when you start that second or that third blog, and the first blog too, but definitely multiple blogs.
I agree. So once you've looked those up and you've got your suggestions on Keyword Planner, I know there's very specific places that you put them in your blog post. What are those spots? First of all is the title, the title of the blog post. It has to have the keyword that you're attempting to rank for, and you don't just want to put, if your keyword is law of attraction, you don't just put the words law of attraction in your title. We're going for long tail keywords.
That's another big tip I can give today is long tail keywords. They're going to help you to get ranked faster, and you're going to feel better when you see results even if they're long tail. So what you're going to do is add a couple extra words onto your keyword. If your keyword is law of attraction, put some keywords in front of it. How to use the law of attraction in 2015, or how to use the law of attraction to attract love, or something. Whatever it is that you're blogging about, you just have to add some extra keywords in there so we have a nice long tail title and keyword.
The places you put your keywords, first of all, as I said again, is the title. The second place you put them is in your categories. So when you're setting a blog post on the right-hand side, it has categories where you input the categories. So you add a new category, and you make sure you put your keywords as categories. Very, very important to put your keywords as categories. The next place you put your keywords is in the tag spot.
So right under the categories is tags. You input all the keywords, all the long tail keywords, into the tags. This is what Google actually looks at, so it's very important that you put those there. We're not done though. The next step is your featured image. So find a related image to your blog topic.
Upload it into your blog post, of course. You want to take your same long tail keywords in your title and put it in the alt spot for your image. So when you upload an image, it'll have a title and an alt tag. All you need to do, it's not complicated, all you need to do is simply paste your long tail keywords in the alt and the title and update that. And then the next step is the content, of course. That's just setting up the blog post, but the next part is the content.
So for people taking notes, once you've got those keywords, you want to put them in your title, in your categories, in your tags, and make sure you put them in your image as well. Those are some places that can help you get those keywords in, because again, what Google is trying to figure out is what is your blog post about? And when it sees those keywords in those different places, it goes, oh, I'm a robot but I'm smart enough to figure out this is what the blog post is about. So that's why it matters where you put those keywords. So for content, you do a lot of using content that already exists. So once you've got your keywords, what types of content do you look for to put in your blog post?
Great question. And I know this is definitely on people's minds is what you put as the content. So I'm going to give you a couple rules of thumb that you can just use right out the gate to get you on the right foot. Number one is you most always want to use some type of related videos, YouTube videos generally. I mean, generally people have already made the videos, so all you need to do is copy and paste them. So generally you always want to use videos.
Always, always, always use images, related images, quotes. And also I like to copy and paste chunks of articles that are already written from other people. I paste them into my blog post, and I also put the source of where I got the content. So just to tie it all together, for the content part, generally you start your blog post off by engaging your reader. And if your topic is a lot of attraction, you'll probably ask them a question like, are you into the lot of attraction? If I was searching for a lot of attraction and instantly I saw a blog post and it asked me a question, are you into the lot of attraction?
I'm going to say, yeah, I am. So I'm going to keep reading, so that's engagement. I think that's really important to ask a question that has to do with the keywords. And then I introduce the first video. So if I'm looking at my blog post, I'll ask a question about something to do with the topic of the blog post. And then I'll start introducing the first video for the content.
I'll just say a couple words about it. So a couple of things to kind of build on what Sean is saying here. By sharing other people's videos and images, you're doing a couple of things. Number one, you're making it easier on yourself because that content already exists. All you've got to do is find a good video, share it in your post, and share your thoughts on it. So it makes blogging faster, but you're still delivering something really interesting for your readers by including images.
If you've been on these webcasts every week, you know the importance of putting images in your post for Pinterest, for Instagram, so that you can get shared on these sites for Facebook, so that those images come up when you and when others share your blog post. So really, really important to make sure those are in there. So here's one thing that I know is on your list that I wanted to go over. You have call to actions a couple of different places in your post as you're working on that content. Where do you put your call to actions? For people who don't know, call to action means where you call your readers to take a certain action.
So it's where you say, hey, click here to subscribe and get XYZ, or click here to learn more about Inner Circle, or Kolatu, or whatever you're asking them to do or to learn more about. So that's what a call to action is. I know you put those in your blog post in a couple of ways. All right, so generally the first place I'll use a call to action in my blog post is after the first video, I want to engage my reader again, so I'll ask them a question about the video. Hey, did you like that video? What did you think about it?
And then if I say, if you're still interested, click here for more information on whatever it is. So if it's the law of attraction that we're talking about, under the video, the first video, I'll say, hey, did you like that video? If you want some more cool stuff like that, click here and whatever it is that I'm going to offer, like click here to sign up for more blog posts about the law of attraction, or whatever it is. And that's a text link. So it's not a button, it's not an image, it's actually text. I wrote a click here, I made it a hyperlink, and the link itself, the URL, is generally like one of my capture pages or the truth or hype funnel are one of those.
So that's the first call to action is a text link. And I put a couple of those throughout the blog post, and I don't just always say click here. Sometimes I'll say, like I'll ask a question, you know, get creative. You know, you can start modeling my blog post if you want to, Dave Wood's blog post, Justin Varenda's blog post. Find people who are doing a good job and model those. That's how I learned a lot of this.
Yeah, Ellie just mentioned in chat that Neil Patel has shared about that to make your links text. And it's because it works. It's a great way to get your call to action in there. Also, let me just finish up with this part. Also, every image that you put inside of your blog post, you can also make images a link. So if you're trying to generate leads, let's say into the truth or hype funnel, every image in your blog post, you can make it a URL.
So when somebody clicks on it, they'll get sent to your opt-in page. They can opt in. So that's another call to action. And then generally the last call to action is below the signature. You can have like a PS. PS, click here if you want more information on the law of attraction or whatever your topic is.
And then, of course, you select the call to action that is pre-built into Kolatu. They have pre-built call to actions. I love them. I generally mix them up. You're going to love them as well once you start using them. So that's the last call to action in the blog post.
Awesome. And I love the tip about putting a PS in your blog post because that's something that everybody tends to read. We tend to kind of scan through blog posts sometimes. So we might not read every word, but usually a PS will catch our attention. So that's a great place to put an extra call to action in there and get that extra opportunity for somebody to click through and subscribe. Very cool.
All right. So let's see. I have a cheat sheet here of your process that I'm looking at as we go. And I've got some specific questions for you on it. All right. So one of the things that you shared with me is you've got a couple steps that you do to share and promote your post and some tools you use to syndicate it.
Can you share a little bit with the audience about how you're getting your post out there after you hit publish? Yeah, definitely. I mean, it's extremely important because making a blog post is one step. I think getting people to it is the other step. So syndication, it's just the process that we do once our blog post is complete. It takes a couple minutes.
And some of the tools I personally use for syndicating my blog posts, number one is as soon as you publish a blog post and you view it, generally they have the social media share buttons already built into your blog post, the Google+, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest. I always, always, always start by pinning one of my images from my blog post, and I pin it to Pinterest. That's the first step for syndication. The second one is I tweet it on my Twitter account. So instantly those go out to my social media. That's the first step.
The next step is I use a tool. You're going to love this one. I use a tool. It's a free tool. It's called Index Kings. That's Index Kings.
You can go to Google, search Index Kings. All you've got to do when your blog post is done, you take the URL for your blog post and you copy and paste it into the Index Kings. They have a little box where you just simply paste your URL in there, and you click the Submit. What it's going to do is it's going to go ahead and pin and submit your blog post to all the search engines. They do a crazy job. You don't need to know all that stuff, but all you need to know is that's one tool you need in your arsenal right now.
So that's another one. Another syndication tool that I use is kind of underground. If you're familiar with Digg, dig.com. Simply go to Google and search for Submit a Link to Digg. That's Submit a Link to Digg. What it's going to show up is it's going to say, hey, go ahead and submit your URL here.
You paste your URL in there, and you submit it. And it's going to go ahead and get syndicated into the Digg social media network. We got more. There's still more. The next one is StumbleUpon. I came today fully loaded with a lot of value to share, so I'm really thankful that you're actually going to learn something from this.
The next tool is StumbleUpon. You can go to Google, search for StumbleUpon, Submit. So what you're going to do, once again, just like Digg, you submit your URL for your blog post. You put your keyword in there, and you just hit the Add button, and it's going to go ahead and add your blog post to that social media network. That's really the basic syndication. There's a couple more things.
For example, Pingler.com. You can go to Pingler and go ahead and ping your blog post. And the last thing, of course, is emailing out. Actually, there's two more things. One of them is emailing your blog post to your email list. And the last thing is to put your blog post into Facebook groups.
Facebook groups are really, really popular, and you have to make sure you're posting in a targeted Facebook group, for example. If you're talking about a lot of traction, you generally wouldn't put that in a dog and cat group. You want to keep it on point so you have targeted traffic. So that's the syndication part. That's definitely an important tip. Make sure that wherever you are posting is where people are interested in what you're writing about.
Because there's a word for when you post in groups that are not interested in what you're writing about, and that's spam. So let's never do that. Make sure that you're posting in groups that are interested in what you're sharing about. And really, you can see how all this ties together, because he just shared with you the last step is to email this to his team and to his list of leads. So putting those call to actions in your post and starting to build that list is really, really key to being able to continue to promote and get that traffic back to your blog. Because once somebody's on your list and they're interested in what you're writing about, then you can send them more blog posts, and it becomes part of your promotion plan.
So really, really awesome tips. Thank you so much for jumping on and sharing that with us tonight. I know we've got some questions coming in from the audience, so I'm going to take a minute here and look at our question and answer box. And we did put that up on the page. I think to my left and down somewhere, it's somewhere in the area. There is a question box that you can put your questions in for Sean.
And let me go over to the questions. And while I do that, let's see here. And I know we've got some questions coming in from chat, too, and one that I've seen a bunch. Guys, yes, he is getting leads. He's getting traffic, first of all, from these strategies. They're turning into leads.
He had a lot of leads, something like 100 leads in the last five or six days here coming in from those blogs. And they are turning into sales for him. And it's building his team so that he's got a team. He can, again, send these posts out to get more people sharing his posts. And it's just once you get that ball rolling, there's so much you can do with it. So let me go to Q&As here.
All right. We've got a lot of people asking for the names, for more specific information on some of these tools. We don't have a lot of time to get into really, really detailed directions with these tools. We've got another guest also waiting that we're going to bring on in a minute, but I will personally reach out to Travis, who is wizard of all things All In Library, and see about getting you guys a more detailed keyword training in that All In Library. This presentation also will go into the All In Library, so if you missed any of the tool names that Sean has mentioned, you'll be able to watch the replay and grab those. All right.
So let's see. Okay, there's a lot of questions coming in here, and I'm kind of scrolling through them here to see the most common ones that we can go to. All right. Here's one that's come in from a couple people. Michael's asking, where do you find the videos that you're using? So once you've got that keyword topic in mind, what do you do to find a video to share?
Awesome question. Basically, once you have your keyword that you're going to blog about, I can generally take that same keyword, I'll go pop it into Google, and I'll see what's already being ranked for that keyword, and I'll click on the Videos tab, and generally there'll be a list of related videos that have exactly to do with the thing that you're searching for. All I do, I might skim through a couple of them to make sure that I like them and they're good videos. I'll just copy and paste them into my blog post just like that. Awesome. All right.
So here's another question. Tanya is asking, are you using custom domains or the default ones that come with Kolatu? That is a good question. That's a really good question, and that's one that's been inside the community, we've been talking about that a lot. So personally, I don't use the domain mapping. I use the blogs right out the gate, how Kolatu gave it to me, that's how I use them.
And I think that it's actually a great benefit, and in the long term it's going to prove to be even of greater benefit. Yeah, that's one thing that you and Tara and I talked about this morning was one of the reasons that we wanted to bring on as guests was you're just using Kolatu out of the box. You're not getting real fancy with custom domains or paid traffic yet or working on those, but you're just following the system and it's working for you. And that, to me, is inspiring to see somebody that, okay, three months ago sees Dave Wood and goes, you know what, I'm inspired, I'm going to start a blog. A week ago, I'm going to start a second blog and 100 leads in a week and getting sales from that. That is so fantastic.
And guys, if you haven't looked at multiple blogs yet, check it out because when we added it, not only did we add the ability to set up multiple blogs, but there's additional domain names in there. So you don't have to go with just buildingabrandonline.com. You've got other choices now that you can pick from as well. And again, I'm seeing the same question in chat and in the Q&A box. Yes, this is being recorded. Yes, it will be available in the All In Library.
If you're not All In, get All In. You don't want to miss. Every Tactical Tuesday as well as additional really focused tactical trainings are going into the All In Library. Guys, if you're in chat and you're All In and you've looked at the Library, I would love for you to share some feedback with people who aren't All In yet. Let them know what you're seeing in that Library, what your favorite thing is. So here's the last question for you.
What is your favorite feature in Kalatu and why? That's a good question. And truthfully, I'll give you the answer, but I just want to say that Kalatu in itself, I just love the whole thing. There is one thing specifically I love the most, but in general, this is by far the best blogging platform in the universe as far as I'm concerned. So my favorite feature, and I know some people are going to be like, that's your favorite feature. It's nothing crazy, however to me it's extremely important.
And that feature is simply the tracking. Just the place where you just simply put your tracking codes in there. And the reason why I find that's the most important to me is because seeing your statistics, seeing where people are coming from, seeing the places people are going on your blog, that's vital information. So to me that is the most important feature is to have that little Google Analytics, that little spot where you just put your code in. And just another tip, I have Google Analytics set up, but I took it a step further, and I installed Stat Counter. It's a free service Stat Counter.
It's just another Analytics, and I also installed that code. So I can go to Analytics or Stat Counter to see my stats, and they show different stuff. So I really recommend that you use that as soon as possible. That is a fantastic tip for those who are not aware. You can put more than one tracking code into those boxes, and get multiple stats counters or other things. Depending on how power user you are, you can put a lot of different things in those boxes.
I know you're also using the brand new Lightbox feature, which just launched within the last week or two. Guys, that's another great way to capture leads with your Kalatsu blog. So thank you so much for joining us tonight, Sean. I appreciate all the info you shared and being willing to take audience questions tonight. Thank you so much. Thank you.
All right, Chad, let him know if you found this useful, what your favorite tip was that he shared. And with that, I'm going to bring out our next guest. This is somebody who was this close to being our Kalatsu blogging idol at the last event. I could not believe how many votes came in within the last 24 hours. I mean, it was so close. We have Laura Parrish with us tonight.
Laura, can you say hello? Hey, guys, how are you? I am doing awesome. How are you? I'm doing great. Thanks for having me tonight.
Absolutely. Thanks for jumping on with us. You know, one of the things that we're getting ready to start up again tomorrow is the 21-day blogging challenge. And I know you've blogged with us in the challenge a couple of times, so you've gotten that whole daily blogging thing down to how to get that content on your blog. So I would love, and I know the audience would love, if you would share some tips for us of how do you figure out what to blog about and get those ideas going and get that content on your blog. Yeah, thanks for having me tonight.
Again, I really appreciate being here. But the biggest thing for me is to, and I've talked about this many times, is to blog about what's on your heart, what you're most passionate about. And I talked about in the All In module that I did a couple of weeks ago about being real. And people can tell when you're blogging about something or you're writing about something that you're not passionate about because it seems very robotic. And a lot of times when you go to people's blogs and you read them, it's like it was written specifically for search engine optimization, which obviously search engine optimization is an amazing thing. You've got to have it to get ranks and stuff like that.
But there's a really fine line between having great SEO and also not sounding like you're specifically writing for search engine optimization. So really it's kind of like Sean was talking about. He has a couple different blogs and music is his passion. Having a blog to talk about specifically what your passion is is an amazing thing. The other thing about the multiple blog option inside of Kalatu is that you can write about other things too. Like he has a separate blog to talk about things like law of attraction, things like that.
So it's really important and it's really key to have multiple blogs if there are many different things you want to talk about. And I guess a good example, and I was talking to Terry about this earlier, is if people come to your blog expecting specific content from you, right? And then they show up. They're following you, following you, following you. And then they show up one day and you're talking about something completely different. They're like, okay, this doesn't make sense.
It's kind of like if you watch the TV show House on Fox every Thursday night at 8 o'clock. And then the next Thursday you go to Fox at 8 o'clock and House isn't there, something else is there. You might think, okay, that's weird. But then if you go back the next Thursday and House isn't there again, it's like, okay, I'm going to stop coming back because it's not the content that I was looking for. It's not the content that I was expecting. So to really target your specific niche and what you want to talk about, like Sean says for him is music, he has a specific blog for that.
So people know where to go to find what they want to see from him, right? And that's so, so important. Another great thing I love about the multiple blogs for people who have a career outside of internet marketing or working from home like doctors, lawyers, and people who own their own brick and mortar businesses, this multiple blogging system is just amazing for them as well because obviously to put their business out there, if they own their own business, things like that, they have a specific blog where they can target their customers that they have in their brick and mortar business and what they're doing outside of internet marketing, which is great for those people specifically to go to to remain apprised on what's going on in that, what they're looking for. And then they have the ability to have their own blog and talk about their passions and earn an income, talking about what you love. So that's a big thing for me. That's why I think multiple blogs is an amazing option to have.
And I'm so grateful that Kalatsu came out with it. But really for me, I write about what I'm passionate about. I write about what's in my heart, what's on my mind. But again, and I've been taking notes, I wrote down what you had mentioned Chris Record had said about news jacking. I love that, right? Talking about hot topics.
Again, if Sean were to use his music blog and he talks about music, talks about music, talks about music, and people were to come to his music blog and all of a sudden he's talking about how something happened in the NBA or the NFL or whatever that has nothing to do with music, it would kind of throw people off a little bit, right? So he's got his music blog, but then he has the ability, we all have the ability to have multiple blogs now, that you can use a separate blog to talk about entertainment news, right? The hot topics. It's going to get people going to that, going to that, going to that. So I know a big thing. Even for me, before I went to the Las Vegas event with Neil Patel when he talked about the importance of not confusing the people you're trying to reach.
Not confusing your customers. That you really should focus on one thing in your blog. So I love the fact, because a lot of people question, I question, it's like, well, can I talk about other things? And yeah, you can, but you don't want to confuse the niche, the people that you're trying to reach, your ideal customer. So having a blog about what you're passionate about is great. Like Sean has his music.
I talk about law of attraction type stuff, fear, getting over fear, having the ability to live the way that you want to live. That's really what Michael is on, is on in my blog. And also being able to have a blog about hot topics. I love that news jacking. Chris Record awesome, right? And that's pretty much it.
So I just absolutely love it. And I'm so grateful that Empower Network has rolled out the multiple blogs inside of Klaatu. Klaatu is an amazing platform. And I've seen massive results from the Klaatu platform since it rolled out a few months ago. I've only been using it a few months too. And it's just amazing.
It doesn't get any better. Yeah, so let me ask you the same question I asked Sean, just because this is a fun one for me. What's your favorite feature inside of Klaatu? You know, I really like the way that the media is set up. I love the way that it's easy. Like inside of Klaatu, for those of you who aren't a part of Empower Network yet, but will be by the end of this webcast, I promise you, right?
One of the greatest things I love about it is the ability to easily insert media because it's been so difficult in the past. You know, like if you upload a photo or something, and then if you want to change the name of it, you've got to completely delete it, change the name on your computer, then re-upload it. And inside of Klaatu, you have the ability, once you upload media, you have the ability to change the name of it, you have the ability to re-dimension it and change the sizes and do whatever you need to make it fit the way you want it to fit in your blog. You want it to fit in your blog, which saves so much time. And the ability to easily insert and embed videos is just amazing, too. And that may sound kind of simplistic, but you know what?
Simplistic is good because in this day and age, when you're trying to figure out how does this work and how does that work, and I don't know how to put a picture on my blog and how do I do videos, it's just, you know what? This, like, makes it so easy. Literally, my seven-year-old can do it. My seven-year-old has started making videos, right? It's insane. So, I love the simplicity of being able to edit my blog, change, you know, type, if I want a different font, size, you know, it's just so easy.
You guys have made it so easy the way you've built Klotty. Well, and that's really been a focus. I'm excited to hear you say that because that's something that the team has worked really hard to just simplify everything. Because, I mean, let's face it, we've got enough things to learn and enough stuff to deal with. We don't need for blogging to be yet another thing that is stressful. We wanted to make it as simple as possible.
And let people really get started fast with, you know, here are, just take these daily action steps. This is how you build your blog, and this is how you build a profitable business with that blog, which is the coolest thing about it, you know. You're talking about, you know, building a blog around lifestyle and how you want to create your life. And Sean's got his music blog. Dave Wood blogs about Kung Fu. It doesn't matter what the topic is that you want to blog about.
With Klotty, you can turn that into a business that's profitable. So that's one of the coolest things about it. You know, I would love to take some audience questions for you, Laura. I know chat went crazy when you came on. A lot of them know you. I think maybe everybody in chat knows you and is familiar with you.
So I'm sure they've got some questions for you. So guys, put your Q&As in the box. And while you're doing that, I'm checking for questions here. You were a runner-up for a Klotty blogging idol, and we're getting ready to start that again. And for those of you who are top 200, you got a sneak peek of what the prizes are this time around, but I just want to share quickly what some of those are so that everybody who's not aware yet knows what's coming. So the 21-day blogging challenge is something that we run monthly, so it's starting again tomorrow, April 1st.
It wraps up right before the Unleash event in Nashville kicks off, and we did that very intentionally. We wanted to make sure that this challenge wrapped before the event because the winner this time around has the opportunity to get stage time. And not only stage time, but they will get to attend our exclusive speaker training and some other really cool perks at the event. We're going to have the winners on stage at the event. They're going to be sharing some tips with you, strategies that they've used in blogging, or we're going to have fun. Tara sent me links the other day to trophies that we're getting ready to get ordered for our blogging challenge winners.
You don't want to miss it. It's totally free to participate. You can go to join21daybloggingchallenge.com or check with the person who sent you to the webcast tonight. They will be happy to help you get signed up. Again, it's totally free to participate, and we send you content ideas every day of what you could blog about, give you resources like images and places to find things you can share, and the group on Facebook is fantastic. Like Shawn mentioned earlier, it's really about community and about having people around you who support your dreams and your goals to blog about what you care about and to build a business from that.
But you don't want to miss the next event. We're going to have some really cool things going on from the 21 Day Blogging Challenge that you will have a chance. If you've been to an event before, one thing that Dave always asks is when are you going to be on stage? When is it going to be your time? And this is an opportunity for you to be able to have that moment that you're dreaming of, that you have that success in your business of making results happen. So join us in the 21 Day Blogging Challenge.
Getting that content out there consistently will help you to get the traffic and get the leads and get the sales that you need to build a business around this. So I'm going to go to Q&A here. I know we've got questions coming in. And let's see here. Which window are my questions in? One minute.
They've run away. All right, here we go. So Laura, let's see here. You're getting a lot of Levia girls in the Q&A. All right, let's see here. Okay, so here's a question for you from Kara Lee.
She asks, if you have a blog that's about, say, animals, how do you steer them to empower networks? So how do you connect a blog about a passion to the business? Well, really, at least for me, the biggest reward for me inside of working from home and what I do is time freedom, right? Time freedom and the ability to help other people also achieve time freedom because time freedom allows you to live the way that you want to live, right? Which means that then allows you to do the things that you want to do. And if your passion is, you said about, her name is Kara, right?
And you said it's about animals? Is that correct? Okay, so Kara, if your passion is about animals, I'm not really sure what type of animal you're talking about, or like dogs, or if you're a dog breeder, or whatever the case may be. But if your passion is about animals and that's what you write about, the way that you segue it, and that's what the word segue means. It's the way you connect what your passion is to your business. And you say, well, if I'm blogging about animals, how can that turn people into wanting to join my business, right?
And you have to segue, which means you have to connect it. So what I do is I talk about time freedom. So if I were writing a blog about my passion and spending time with animals, or if you're a veterinarian, or whatever the case may be, and saying I have the ability to live my passion. I have the ability to spend my time doing what I love, which is training animals, or being a veterinarian, or whatever the case may be, whatever your specific blog is about. And the reason I have the ability to do it is because I have the time, and the reason I have the time to do it is because of time freedom. I'm not stuck behind a desk at a 9 to 5 job, where I'm having to get off at 5, come home, rush dinner, get kids, family, whatever, and then have leftover time, if any, to deal with my animals, right?
I am able to live my passion and spend my time the way I want to, breeding animals, or whatever the case may be, because of this business. This business allows me to live the way I want to live, and do the things that I want to do with your passion. So that's really how I connect things. For me, I spend a lot of time with my kids. I have two kids, right? So I talk about being able to show up at my daughter's school and have a lunch, or attend field trips for my kids' schools, and things like that.
I segue my passion about time freedom and wanting to spend time with my kids into my business by saying the reason I have the ability to do the things that I love to do, like spend time with my kids, is because I'm not stuck at a desk at a job, 9 to 5. I have time freedom because of this business. So starting your own business, having a Kalatu blog, blogging every day, telling others, like I'm telling you right now, will give you the ability to earn an income to provide for yourself and your family so that you can continue to live your passions. So it really kind of brings it full circle, right? Because if you were at a job, you wouldn't be able to do what you want to do all day long, right? Which if your passion is spend time with animals and do whatever, then you have to connect the two.
So it's really about Kalatu and Empower Network providing you time freedom to live the way you want to live and do what you want to do. So that's how I segue that. That was a fantastic answer. And that's really the key to it, is the segue part that Laura just talked about. And if you're using Kalatu, you know if you use the templates and the 21 Day Blogging Challenge, it asks you, how does what you've just shared connect to what the CTA is? And it's exactly what you just heard.
For somebody who wants to spend time with animals, it's having that freedom to choose how you want to spend your time. For somebody who is an aspiring musician, like Sean's got a blog about music, you guys know Toby and Layla, they're musicians. And for a lot of people, it's that freedom piece of, I get to choose how I want to spend my time. I don't have to get up, get dressed in a suit, drive to work through rush hour traffic, and fight all of that. Instead, I can get up, go to my computer, write about what I love, and build a business around that. That is huge.
Go ahead, Laura. Now, I kind of want to add something to that. I want to talk about the power of segueing. And I have a perfect example. On February 23rd of 2012, no, excuse me, 2013. February 23rd of 2013, I put a video on Facebook.
And it wasn't my video. It's a video called The Parent Wrap. And I'm sure you guys are all looking at it right now. But it's this video called The Parent Wrap. And it's like these two people, and they're like talking about, they're like all gangster and stuff, talking about how their lives change now that they have kids, right? Guys, let me tell you something, all right?
This is the power of what we do, all right? I put that video up on February 23rd of 2013. That video is still populating. And because it's so big, Facebook won't even allow me access to it, to even change anything on it, to edit it. It has over a million shares. It has over 900,000 comments.
And like 700,000 likes or something crazy like that. But that video, okay, remember what I said. I put it up February 23rd, 2010, or 2013. That video is the video that got me 16 sign-ups in one day, okay? And the reason that it happened… Say that one more time.
You got how many sign-ups in one day? I got 16 sign-ups in one day. That is awesome. Okay, this was back in 2013 before I spoke on stage in Chicago. But here's my point about segueing, okay? This is the importance of it.
That video was really a video about two people who were like talking about how they lived the life the way they wanted before they had kids, and then they had kids, and now it's like, oh, changing diapers all the time. And you know, if you're a parent, you know what I'm talking about, right? But what I did was, all I did was I shared a video about something I'm already doing, right? Spending time with them. And I segued it. I said, this video epitomizes what it's like to be a parent because one day you're doing what you want, and then the next day you're cleaning up peas and throwing food and changing diapers.
But thanks to this business, I don't have to miss a moment of the good times and the fun times, and I also don't get to miss the moments of the not-so-fun times. And so then I like segued it, and I said, so if you're down with the parent rap and want to work from home the way that I work from home and earn a living, click the link, right? Y'all, I got 16 sign-ups from that video. It has over a million shares. That's what I'm saying. If you can segue what you're putting out there, whether it be written, whether it be a video, like I said, that video's not even mine, right?
But it was about something I'm passionate about. If you can segue it, like, okay, here's a video. It's a viral video, so if you're going to do videos, pick something that people like, right? That's funny that people can associate with. And segue and say, this epitomizes me, who I am, what I do, I love my kids, and because of this business, I don't have to miss a moment of parenting, right? I don't have to miss a moment because I can stay home, I can earn a living, income disclaimer, all that good stuff, right?
And you can, too. Click the link. And I got 16 sign-ups. I remember the day it happened. I was in Florida on vacation, and by noon I had eight sign-ups. I looked at my phone.
I looked at my husband. I'm like, I just got another sign-up. My in-laws were like, what is going on? And I'm like, I don't know. It was insane. Shortly after, I got a phone call from David Wood.
Of course, he's like, what are you doing? But it's the power of telling others, right? Telling others. Blog daily. Tell others. Get money.
Because if you put content out there that people can relate to, and you can segue it and connect it to how badass it is that you can, like, do what you want, have the lifestyle you want, live the way you want, talk about what you love, your passions, and you just connect it and say, I have the ability to do these things because of this business. Click here. You're in, guys. You're in. It's really that simple. You know, three quick things.
We're getting some questions coming in in the Q&A box. Elsie and some others have asked, what is segue? We keep using that word. Segue just means transition. And what Laura's talking about, you heard the example of, you know, transitioning from, here's a video that's a wrap about parenting, into here's a business you can work from home. It's how do you connect those two?
Second question here, people are asking, where can they see Kalati blogs? If you're new and you're not in Empower Network, here's what to do. First, you can just click the button this side of me. This side of me. Here we go. On my left, on your right, click that button.
It's $7. You can get a seven-day trial of the system and find out how it works and play with it a little bit, get familiar with it. But most importantly, get back to whoever invited you to the webcast tonight. So reach out to whoever sent you the link to get here and just let them know, hey, can you show me some blogs that are using Kalati? Can you tell me more about it? And they will be happy to share with you how it works and how you can become part of the community and get your own blog.
All right. So, you know, one thing… Michelle, real quick. I don't want to jump in and interrupt. I was looking for a moment there. First of all, Lauren, I always love hearing from you.
You have such a great, like a great way of life being. I don't know how to say it other than that. I don't know you. I think I've seen you at events and stuff, but at the Nashville event, I like to sit and talk to you for just a second. I would like to do an entire piece with you on the art of the segue post. I mean, because that's really, really important.
I notice that Lauren's cam is another one that does a really good job of using existing, you know, viral elements to get people, you know, exposed to the offer in a way that's just natural to them. But I'd love to do just a segue piece with you if you'd be into it, maybe include it, because I'm sure there's a little bit more to it than you could say in a couple seconds. The idea of how you pick something and then how you segue out of it, how you tie that, the message between the viral element and then into the call to action element that gets someone to actually get in front of the offer, that there's an art to that that I think cannot be overstressed, because really it's what's common to Empower Network. Everybody in Empower Network that I talk to, unless some people are hiding from me, the thing that's common to everybody is they all want to do their own thing. And they came upon Empower Network, and it's helped a lot of people do their own thing and for some people, it's being home with their kids. So for me, that's why I do what I do.
I work virtually. I see I'm open power, but I still get to work from home. I get to be home with my daughters. For some people, it's riding their Harley across the country, whatever, surfing, whatever the thing is. But however you can do that segue elegantly from something that everybody's going to love into a segue and then into the offer in a way that makes them go, hell yeah, I want to be part of this. I'd love to do a piece with you on that.
I just wanted to jump in and say that. Michelle, Dave Wood actually is sending over a video. I think he's emailing it to you right now. He wants us to play it at the end, just so you know, because he's in transit and can't actually get on the Hangout, but really wants to. So look in your inbox for that, Michelle. And then, Michelle, I wanted to kind of put you on the spot, because I know you weren't really planning on, yeah, exactly.
I know you weren't really planning on training, because Laura's awesome, and the content before it was really just tactical on point content. But would it be possible for you to maybe walk everybody through the 17 steps one more time before we wrap up the webcast? And then at the very end, I'd like to do a quick lightning round with the guests, if that's possible. Michelle, I'll just ask everybody one question, tough to answer question, and see how everybody answers it. John does those, and I love those things. So is it possible for you to sort of do a quick review with everybody and talk them through some of what you guys already talked about at the beginning?
And then we'll circle back around for some questions, and then a final lightning round. Oh, Michelle's red-faced and on the spot right now. Yeah, well, I've got notes on those steps, so I can definitely walk us back through all of the steps that we did. I like it, because there are some people out there who maybe just got into Empower. Maybe they're thinking about getting in and getting started with Claw 2. I like, you know, for me, when I get started on something, maybe it's just me.
Maybe it's just me. But I need a list. You know, I'm a list guy. I need to know, what are the seven things I've got to do? And even though I know that a list, no list covers all the bases, just give me 80% of the way there, you know? So I thought, because you guys kind of went through it real quick, because I know we wanted to get to Laura as well, but maybe you could just circle back around and kind of walk everybody through it real quick one more time, and then we'll take some final questions and one lightning round question for all the guests.
One for you, too, Michelle. I'm going to hit you with the lightning round question, too, because you happen to be the, basically, I don't know why you're my assistant. I still haven't figured it out yet. You're the most awesome assistant in the universe, first of all. And second of all, you are a badass blogger in your own right, you know? And so I think there's a valuable answer that you could probably give to everybody, too.
So I'm just going to shut up now. And if you want to run through those, we'll circle back around, take some questions, and wrap this puppy up. Oh, and one thing, again, if you guys do have your tickets to the event, make sure you close your room, you register your room. That's really important, because I literally had to do a wheel and deal with Bonnie to get her to wheel and deal with the people who run the hotel. So if you're coming anyways, make sure you reserve your room right now, because we can't, she literally won't be able to extend it. It was like Bonnie, I don't know if anybody who's ever negotiated with Bonnie, you will lose that entanglement every single time.
So Bonnie put her powers on management of the hotel and got us an extra, basically, an extra five days. So make sure you leverage that and register your room if you're coming anyways. And if not, make sure you show up at the event, because we've got some really cool stuff for you. Michelle, take it away. Sorry for rambling. All right.
Well, Bonnie has superpowers. You don't want to miss the opportunity to stay at the event hotel. I know you guys are getting emails about this, especially if you've got your event tickets, but that's where the coolest stuff happens. That's where you can bump into people like Mars and Laura and Sean and have those conversations in the elevator, in the hallway, that are just absolutely life-changing when it comes to being able to ask questions and discuss some of this stuff. I mean, you guys know the value if you could get one of these people to stop and answer a question or two for you. And when you're staying at the event hotel, you get those opportunities.
So don't miss that chance. You owe it to yourself to get to the event and to make sure you have your room booked at the hotel. Plus, it's a really cool hotel. Check it out. You don't want to miss staying there. All right.
So I guess this is what I get for Skyping Mars before the webcast that my voice was back. It's exactly what you get. Exactly what you get. Don't ever make the mistake of telling you your voice is working perfectly well ever again in life because it's going to work against you. I got emails and Facebook messages from people the last two webcasts wanting to know where I was. I was like, I'm alive.
I just don't have a voice. But it's back enough. So I will absolutely be happy to go through. And I know 17 Steps sounds like a lot, but really it just comes down to three different pieces. So as I share these, just think there's really only three steps. Number one is deciding what you're going to write about.
Number two is actually writing it. Number three is then promoting it and getting the traffic. So I'll break those down, but that's really the three steps that it fits into. Decision of what you're going to write about, writing the actual post, and then promoting the post. So don't let the idea of 17 Steps overwhelm you. As Omar said, when you're just getting started and you want that list, it can be really helpful.
So here's what they are. And this is based on a conversation we had with Sean earlier today where he just walked us through his process of here's what I did to get 100 leads this week and to get sales in my business and building my team. So here's what they are. And this is common to people who are getting results right now. Number one, if you're writing for multiple blogs, you kind of decide which one you're going to write this post for. That's a very important starting point.
If you haven't started your blog yet, then you've got to start with what's the topic I'm going to write about. And Laura shared how important it is to make sure that's something that you're passionate about. You can hear when she shares about her blog that it's really coming from her heart, that what she shares about freedom is really what matters to her, what she values. So it's important to keep in mind you've got to kind of balance the yes, I want search engine traffic with here's what I care about. And when you put those two together, that's really where the magic is being able to get traffic, but not sound like a robot. So you've got traffic coming, but they hear you and connect with you as a person, as someone who has things in common with them.
Because that's what you're trying to do with this first part, is get people to know and like and trust you. Because that's when they want to find out more about what it is you're doing in business. So number one, choose your topic. You can start with Google Keywords Planner. And the other thing is go to Google, type in keyword tool. It'll come up with a link for you.
I think it was keywordtool.io that will let you research what are some ideas that are popular right now, what are some phrases people are searching for around what the topic you've chosen is. So you pick what you want to write about and then you find out what's the trending topics around this. So that's number two, is looking up on a tool like that. Number three, is to put those keywords into your title. Now this is something that if you talk with really prolific bloggers, there's kind of a strategy behind their titles. We start with a working title.
So we'll put in the keywords and something in the title, write the post and then come back to the title and really make it catchy, make it interesting. Don't go for super clever but go for something people are going to want to click as your title. You want to learn to get really good at writing those titles but always include your keywords in it. Number four, is to work on your content. And remember that you can source content from other people from other places. If you go to YouTube and search for the topic you're writing about, you can find all sorts of videos that are available that you can put into your blog.
And the way to know if it's okay to share them is if you scroll down on the page and click share and then click embed, if embed code comes up, then it's okay to share it. They've given you that license. You're not going to get in trouble for sharing that. I know I saw that question come in a couple of times. There's other sites you can find videos at as well. Ted Talks is a great one if you're into inspirational, motivational stuff, lots of cool content there.
Images, join the 21 day blogging challenge, we'll send you all sorts of places to find images and whenever you source things, just make sure that you reference where you got it from. So Michelle, can I actually ask a question about that one, about using other people's content? I guess. That was more of a rhetorical so I'm not an expert blogger like you. I'm a marketing campaign guy, but I'm not an expert blogger. I just started getting into it in the last couple months and I've secretly been writing my blog posts and afraid to live up to the requests I make of everyone else.
But I'm going to launch my blog on this 21 day blogging challenge, period. It's happening. So anyway, the point is, if somebody shouldn't borrow text content though, because that's duplicate content, right? You can't just copy actual text content, but you can borrow videos. What do you know about that? I mean, understanding that you're not a lawyer and you're not Google, of course.
No, I'm not a lawyer and I am definitely not Google. But disclaimers aside, yeah, there's a couple of things to know about that. Number one, never share anything that you don't have permission to share. As far as like copying and pasting an entire post from somebody else's blog, just don't do it. All right? Think about it.
Put yourself in that person's shoes. Would you want somebody to take your content and republish it as their own? No. You work hard on your content. So do other people. So respect that.
I'll give you a couple ways in a minute that you can safely share other people's content and show that respect for them and tell you why that's important. But as far as the duplicate content thing, questions come in all the time about this. Google has a duplicate content filter. It's not actually a penalty, it's a filter because when you think about it from a searcher's perspective, if I go to a search engine and I type in how to sell music clips online and the top ten results are all the exact same post, what am I going to do? Am I going to stay at Google or am I going to go check out Bing and see what Bing has to say? No, I want to see a variety of results.
That's why I'm using a search engine. So what they will do is they will pick out the one article or blog post that has the most authority and they will only show that one. So publishing duplicate content doesn't really help you. You're not going to show up high in the search engines if you do that. So that's the first thing to know. It also means if somebody borrows your content, you don't have to worry too much about it because if yours was published first and you've got more weight, Google found yours first, you're probably going to be just fine.
It's not something I personally panic over. But I also don't borrow content that way. Here's what to do instead. And you can see this on Sean's blog. I kind of checked it out to see what he was doing when he said he was borrowing content from blogs. I was like, okay, I've got to go look at that.
And there are some ways that you can do it respectfully, which is just grab an excerpt. So maybe like the first paragraph from a post and then you click here to continue reading this blog post and link people to where you found it. Another way you can do it is a roundup. So you can say here are the top 10 blog posts on XYZ. And then you link to those blog posts with the title and a little summary of what you liked about it, what you learned from it. The cool thing about this, and you guys have probably heard Neil Patel and Lawrence Tamp share this, is you can then take that and you can tweet at or email or Facebook tag those people and go, hey, I really found a ton of value in your blog post so I shared it on my blog.
Here's the link. What happens? Those people love that you shared their blog post and they go share your blog post where you featured them. So you want to start a chain reaction of traffic, share other people's content, do it respectfully, always source, always credit them, and you can see some really cool, not just traffic happening, but you can start to form friendships with those people. So if there are people that you would love to get to know better and love to have a relationship with that you can reach out and email them, this is one way to get on their radar and get noticed. So that's a great question.
Does that kind of answer it, Mars? Yep. It answers it. I wasn't expecting for you to flip the script on me and ask me another question, but yes, it answers it. I know everybody always asks that and I pretty much knew the answer already just to be transparent with everybody, but I knew you would answer it better than I can answer it. Not my area of expertise, so do please continue.
Alright. Okay. So after you get that content together, then you add your categories and you add your tags, and make sure you're putting your keywords in there. And one thing that we didn't mention earlier, which if you are looking for a little more techie tip, I'll share this one with you here. Categories, you can put in just some general keywords. For tags, if you're looking to get more search engine traffic, get more notice in them, you can use a technique called keyword stemming.
What this means is you take whatever your keyword is and you put in variations of it. So I might write ideas for blog posts. Blogging ideas. Blog post ideas. Just kind of it's hard to do off the top of my head, but look for, not just using the word blog, but blogging or bloggers. Look for variations on whatever your keyword are and include them in your tags.
It's called keyword stemming. Again, what Google is trying to do is just see what's your blog post about. And because it's a robot, all it can see is the text. It's not real good at reading video yet. They're working on it. There's some cool stuff happening there.
But they're basically looking at the text on your page to figure out what your post is about. And you want to make it obvious for them. So categories and tags. That was number five. Number six is to get your featured image on there with the keywords included. Sean mentioned that there's an alt field that you can fill out.
Make sure you do that. You can also name that image with your keywords. And Laura shared you can do that right inside Kalatsu after you upload it. Change the image name to be a variation on your keywords. Again, the goal is to show Google in the search engines, here's what this post is about, so that it knows when I go and search for that topic, this is a relevant post, and it'll bring that back up. So number seven is add your blog excerpt and Facebook share.
So we didn't talk about this one, but in Kalatsu you have two sections as you scroll down below your blog post where you can add in an excerpt and then Facebook share stuff. You can pick an image and you can pick text that you want to show up. Your excerpt shows up in your search engine listings, and it shows up on your homepage of your blog, depending on what template and theme you're using. So those are important. You want to make your excerpt and then Facebook share. Can I ask you and Sean a question about that?
Because I'm sort of playing audience advocate here. How important is that, Sean, for you? How important is it to do that thing with Facebook? Very important, and the reason is because I always share it on Facebook. If I don't put that information in and I share it, it's going to look a little bit funny. Once it's there, it looks really good.
Okay, so note to myself to make sure that I do that on my blog, and note for everybody else. I call that an easily overlooked nugget. Sometimes it's like a thing somebody kind of rolls past and you go, okay, I've got to do the Facebook thing and you forget about it, but the one thing about people in the impart network community is they are very good at supporting each other on Facebook. It's incredible. If somebody has a good sales day or whatever, there'll be like a hundred comments congratulating them and stuff. The community is really strong here, and look, man, you're not going to develop necessarily a huge following overnight.
That's not realistic for me to tell you that, but you probably already have your own following of people, plus you'll start making bonds with people and building relationships with people inside of Empower, and it never hurts to have extra comments and extra engagement on yours. It helps everything, actually, so I feel like that thing that you just said, Michelle, and thanks for backing it up there, Sean, is kind of important. I want to make sure that it's Facebook-sharing friendly. I just wanted to jump in and hit that one. I'm jumping back up. Boom.
Absolutely. It is important because when your post gets shared on Facebook, you want the text, the little excerpt that shows up, and the image to be something that grabs people's attention that they want to click and come and read your blog. Sometimes, maybe the first two sentences you opened your blog post with don't work as an attention grabber on Facebook because they're intended to pull people into the blog post. So you want to make sure that you customize that, and you sit and think if I saw this on Facebook, would I click through? So make sure you think about that. And if I saw this image in my newsfeed, would it stand out?
So make sure you're customizing those areas on your page. Alright, so let me go to the next step in our list here. That was step number seven. Make sure you put in the excerpt and the Facebook share. Number eight is to choose an appropriate call to action. This is one that you heard both Laura and Sean talk about.
Your call to action is what is the next step you're inviting them to take. If you're using Kalatu, you know there's a little pull down menu. You can choose which product that you want to invite people to learn more about. So it might be Kalatu, it might be Inner Circle, but choose what your call to action is. It might be get on my list and get more blog articles about law of attraction, learn more about how to build your own freedom lifestyle, learn more about blogging, whatever it is, know what your call to action is so that you can segue into that. Number nine, look for places in your blog post to add CTAs.
You heard us talk about, Neil Patel recommends you add them as text links. Do that. You can link some images to it. That's number nine. Make sure you've got CTAs in there. Number ten, add a question.
Now we went over this one really fast earlier, but the reason for a question is to engage your audience. Because if I ask you a question, do you want to answer me? Yes, right? Everybody's nodding yes on the webcast. It's just natural human response. If I ask you a question, you want to tell me the answer, right?
If I say, what was your favorite tip tonight? You want to tell me what that answer was, right? You can put that in chat, by the way. Ask your audience questions, because then when they get down to the comments, they want to talk back to you. And you want those comments, like Marge said, to show that social proof, that interaction on your blog, and to help you stay motivated. I love when I hit publish on a post, and there's comments.
And I've noticed, if I don't ask a question, I don't get very many comments. It doesn't matter how much traffic I get, if I don't have something for people to talk back about, they don't know what to put in the comments box. So make sure you're asking a question. Number eleven, Sean mentioned he uses block quotes, and headings, and formatting in his post. This is so it's easy to read. We don't have a lot of time to go into it, but you want to make sure your post is easy to read, and it's formatted well.
So use the headings, use lists. Lists are great, use block quotes, get some formatting in there so it's not just one blob, solid wall of text. Really hard to read. Give people's eyes a break. Number twelve, add a PS under his signature with a CTA. This was a great tip.
This is one I think is like Marge said, a nugget. I think that's a really important one to make sure that you caught. Use a PS under your signature with a call to action. Number thirteen, please don't miss this step, okay? Publish your new post. That one is important.
You must click the publish button, or no one will. That explains what's been going on with my blog. Yes, you have to click publish. It's very important. Alright, and after you've clicked publish, fourteen, pin it, tweet it, use your syndication tool. So fourteen is to promote it with those tools that you've got.
Fifteen is to share it in Facebook groups. The reason I broke this out is a separate step is because it's that important. Facebook groups are a great place to get discussion going and to connect with people who are interested in your topics. So go to Facebook and find some groups outside of the Empower Network community. The Empower Network community is awesome, but go look for groups who are really interested in what you're passionate and blogging about. Get active in those groups, build relationships there, and share your posts there.
Number sixteen, send it to your team. You've got a team mailer in the back office. It's super easy to use. You just log in to your back office, go view your team, go to the team mailer, paste a link to your blog post in there, say, hey, just published this new post on my blog for you. Check it out, leave me a comment. Hey Michelle, before you hit number seventeen, just add a little bit of dramatic pause.
It seems that Randy Horton in the on-page webcast page chat is asking a very important question, which is, Michelle, will you marry me? Now, Randy, first of all, the answer is no. Okay, I'm just going to answer for her. You're probably a very attractive gentleman, but I don't get the answer? No, you can't. I'm just teasing you.
But my answer is no. You can't go anywhere. I'm far too dumb. But yeah, I just wanted to share that with you. Tara posted it in the team chat. I thought it was meritorious of bringing it up, so you can close it out and answer her, Randy, if you want to.
I love watching you blush. I think that's actually what it is. I love that that's the most unique question I've ever been asked on a webcast. So, number sixteen was to send it to your team. And number seventeen is to email it out to your list. And if you're doing all the other sixteen steps, you will eventually, I promise, have a list that you can mail this to.
But one of the tips that I heard, and I can't remember which leader to credit this to, so forgive me for that, but they talked about from the beginning whether you have two people or 20,000 people on your list, treat it like you've got that 20,000 people on there. Focus on getting those emails out, on providing value to it, and by doing that, it's going to grow naturally. So no matter how many people you have on your list, make sure that you are emailing your blog post out. Let me make one insert on that, because I remember the conversation where that was brought up. I believe it was Lauren that brought it up. But I confirmed it, because my team and I are very notorious for working with all the top gurus, all the top online marketing gurus, most of which, a lot of which started with a blog, actually.
And one thing that I noticed that was common to every one of them, if the conversation ever came up, was that even when they only had a list of eleven people, I mean eleven emails, when we use the phrase list, it means the number of emails of people who you could email something to, they mailed it out. They mailed out whatever their blog posts were, if they had an offer, they would mail it out, you know, because that list is going to grow. I mean, all the guys who have 100, 200,000, 300,000 or more people on their big giant list now, all started at some point with ten, and they just behaved as if they had that 100,000, that 200,000. So that actually leads into the question that I want to ask everybody, Michelle. Would you mind if I ask everybody the lightning round question, because we're coming up on the bottom. Can I start with one really quick tip first?
But I'm on a segue off from that, so circle me back around when you're done. All right, so all I was going to share was if you don't have a list set up yet, check with your sponsor or whoever got you into Empower Network, they can get you a link to a Webber or GetResponse. The reason I suggest that is those both have affiliate programs and, you know, they'll want you to sign up under them so that you can then get your own affiliate link to share. But get signed up with an autoresponder so that you can start building your list if you don't have one yet. And if you don't have a big list yet, another thing that you can substitute for step 17 is stop and think, who do I know that this blog post would be useful for? Send them a personal email and just say, hey, I just published this, I thought you'd really find some value in it, here it is.
Make it a goal for yourself to send out five or ten of those emails each time you publish something new. In addition to sending it to your list, whatever size your list is, it will help your list grow faster and help you to get that traffic going. So I just want to share that as like an alternate strategy if you don't have that list yet and you're looking for ideas. Alright, back to you, Mars. Alright, so to segue off from my behave as if point, which is seriously, the one, there's about three or four things that I noticed in my sort of own Napoleon Hill-esque journey, because the reason why I do what I do is I like to get paid to work with the top people in the world. And that is actually what my career has been based on, literally getting paid to work with the top people in the world.
So I'm very fortunate in that, but I don't waste the opportunity. There's a reason. I don't just want to work with them for the status or because they can get, they'll refer to me to other people and so forth. I actually pick their brains. So every person that I work with, top dog guys and gals, I always have like three questions that I ask all of them. Now, the questions vary, but some of them are similar.
And so one of the ones that I typically ask, I asked Abe what this, I ask pretty much everybody this, is the question that I want to ask as my sort of lightning round question. So Michelle, Laura, Sean, this is my lightning round question and we'll see what the chat says as far as who gave the best answer. Michelle, I'm going to hit you first just to make you go red-faced again. My question is, if you're somebody who is either in a slump, like you've been doing it for a while and you kind of lulled, or if you're just getting started, what do you do? What's your single best tip to get over the hump or to get going when you get started? When you just feel like, God, I don't, I'm not, this isn't going anywhere.
Because that to me is probably the most important thing that everybody can do because I tell you what Dave Wood's magic is. Everybody like thinks it's, he's charismatic and all that. He's really good at framing things so that by the time he goes to offer somebody something, to sell them something, they're already ready to buy it. And that's true. He's good at that. And that's what everybody credits Dave Wood's magical thing with.
And he has a lot of heart, that's the other thing. But the truth is, the guy does not quit. That's why I follow him, because he won't quit. It doesn't matter how things are going. He has bad days just like everybody else, but the guy does not quit. And so I just want to ask what everybody's like.
Is it a blogging thing? Do you have a list thing that you follow? Like always do this on your down days or when you're just getting started? Michelle, what's your answer to how to get going when you don't know how to get going? Okay, so I do have a list. And there's something to be said for just pushing yourself to do what you know you need to get done.
But there are days where it doesn't matter how specific my list is and how much I know that it's going to work if I just follow it. There are days where I sit down and I don't feel like blogging or I don't feel like working in my business. And there's really three things that I will do. Number one is stop and connect back to why I'm doing what I do. And put myself back in the moment where I made the decision things have to change. That things are going to be different for me and I don't care how hard I have to work or what I have to do to take control of my life and to build my own business.
And when I think back to the position I was in, which if you guys heard me speak in Orlando, you know for me it was being a new mom, having a toddler, another baby on the way, being completely broke to the point that I couldn't feed my child and kind of collapsing on the floor with him just in tears holding him and promising myself that I would never ever be in that situation again. And thinking back to that and thinking there are other people that are in that same situation that I can make a difference for, that I can help if I don't give up. Because I believe that everybody has a unique story but we're all here to inspire and motivate and to touch somebody else who's going to identify with what our story is. So that's the first thing is I really stop and think, wait a minute, why am I doing this? Does it really matter how I feel this morning when I think about what the potential is if I don't quit? The second thing is I keep a file on my computer of emails that people have sent me, of things they've tweeted, of cards that I've gotten, that one's not in my computer but I have a binder of them, where people have said, hey I appreciate this, this made a difference for me.
Where I've gotten positive feedback from people and I will sit and I will read through that. I got an email from one lady at like 3 a.m. when I looked at the time stamp where she said, I was so discouraged, I was searching Google for a particular thing she was challenged with and she found a post on my blog that answered her question and she shared how much that meant to her. Things like that inspire me to keep going. And the third thing that I will do is reach out to a friend and go, hey you know what, I need a kick in the pants because I am down and I ask them to give me 30 seconds to vent and then tell me, get over it and get focused on what matters. Man, way to rob Sean and Laura of the stuff they might have said.
Sheesh. The 27 things I do. That's three. They're all really all good answers. Sean, I am going to flip this to you now sir. First of all, I just sat and watched your whole presentation, like when you were talking to Michelle and awesome dude, like seriously, I learned at least three new things.
That is my gauge for whether or not it was a win situation for me, so Selfish Mars, thanks you. So question to you, what do you do and it can be something tactical or whatever dude, but what is your trick or your method for when you don't know how to get going? In your case, you're already going so it would be from a lull, but if somebody's just getting started or if they're in a lull, what is your advice? How do you do it? Awesome. That's very important.
I know a lot of people are in that position. To me, I know a lot of people may or may not connect with this, but I like to work with my energy. If we just understand energy, like how you feel, your emotions, your mood, if you're feeling down, you can change that in a second. If you watch Tony Robbins, I recommend go watch some Tony Robbins. He'll get you amped up. It'll change your day.
Every day, I'm serious. I've seen it happen to people. A couple tips is get inspired. What is inspiring to you? Remember earlier I said get inspired by listening to music. That'll instantly change your emotions.
Music is designed for that. I see you have a keyboard behind you. I love it. As soon as you start playing these notes, you start feeling emotions and different energies in your body. If you listen to the right stuff, you'll instantly get into the zone. That's critical because I'm a music producer myself.
It's critical how you feel. If you're in the slump, put on some good inspiring music. Go listen to Tony Robbins. He will inspire you in a second. Last but not least is what Michelle said. It's knowing your why.
I have right here called a major definite purpose. This is my why. Why am I even alive right now? Why do I do all this stuff? Instantly, when I touch that, I'm back inspired. If you don't have that, it's easy to not be inspired.
Once you have that, you should be forever inspired. Like what Michelle said, her why is deep. It almost made her cry. That's so important to have. Hopefully that shares some value for you. That was awesome.
I'll take it one step further since I'm a CMO and I try to tie everything to a product that Empower Network offers because that's my job. I'm on the job right now. The Inner Circle is also great for that. I've known a lot of people who have told me that seriously what got them out of the slump or what got them going in the first place was the Inner Circle Audio. You have that as a resource at Empower. People who are all in out there who have purchased the Inner Circle, leverage that because there's good stuff in there as well.
Sorry Sean, I had to tie it back to an Empower Network. That's all I roll. I'm going to switch over to lovely Laura. Laura, you are the final lightning round contestant here. What is your answer for how to get going? Whether you just get started or if you're in the slump, how to get going when you just don't know how to get going?
Can you guys hear me? Yeah, we can hear you now. Sorry, I was talking and it said I was muted. Thanks for making me go last. I think they took all the good stuff. No pressure.
I'm down to earth and I'm just going to keep it real. There's a few things that I could put out there for this. First of all, kind of based a little bit on what Sean said, Stephen Covey wrote a book called The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and inside of that book he talks about proactive people versus reactive people. People who get up and the weather is dreary and gloomy, they base their day on the weather around them, right? Those are reactive people, but proactive people create their own weather regardless of whether it's crappy outside or sunny outside or whatever. Like Sean said, we have the power and the decision to change the way we feel in an instant.
It's just a choice. And you say, okay, how do you change the way you feel? Well, buckle down. There is no plan B. Like if you're not happy with your life or the way it is right now, doing nothing is going to result you nothing. There has to be something inside of you that says this is it.
It's kind of like you can't change the goal type of thing. If you're in college and a term paper is due on Friday, it's like most people wait until Wednesday or Thursday and then they buckle down for 24 hours straight and they do it and they do it and they do it. You don't have the option, okay? When you tell yourself, I don't have the ability, I have no other plan B, like this is do or die, I got to do it now, then you get off your ass and do it, excuse my language, whether you like it or not. And the big thing for me, and this kind of goes back to something I learned in one of the 12 step programs I'm in because I'm a recovering alcoholic, but something that I learned that is really great for everything in life and it came from drinking, right? It's like if I ever think about drinking again, because I've been sober for four years now, I want to play that whole movie through first, right?
Like if I take a drink and this is what's going to happen, it's going to lead to this and this and this and this and this, right? In the same aspect, if I don't buckle down on my business, if I don't blog daily, if I don't tell others to give money, right? What's going to happen? Let's play that whole movie through. I'm going to continue to be where I'm at stuck, living the way I don't want to live, complaining about the things that I'm doing or not doing or have or don't have in my life because I'm not taking any action. So before you get into that funk and you just don't know where to start and you're like, oh, okay, I'm just sitting here.
When you're sitting there thinking like that, play the movie through. Play the movie through if you don't do anything because you don't feel like it, right? What's going to happen? You're going to continue to not do anything, you're going to continue to sit there and it goes on and on and on and what does it result you? Exactly where you're already at. So that's where you kick yourself in the ass and you say there is no plan B.
There is no other option. It's do or die. I can't change the goal. This is it. I got to pretend like there's no tomorrow, right? I got to create my own weather.
I have to be a proactive person and not a reactive person and just do it. Think about your why, your kids, you know, whatever, your family, whatever the case may be. So that's what I would say. Okay, forgive me for the awkward silence. My mic would not unmute for some reason and hey, I'm just rolling with it. I'm following the advice.
Cool, so I'm just going to do what John does. Michelle, I'm assuming that because we've been so busy we didn't have a chance to get the voting app in place. I know we didn't, but I just want you guys to know by next Tactical Tuesday I'm going to have a voting app on there so you can actually give free choices and everybody can vote and see who actually likes it the best. But for right now, just to screw up Tara in chat, can everybody just throw a name up there as far as for whose answer they like the best? Michelle's, Sean's, or Laura's? Just type a name in the chat and let us know who you think gave the best, absolute best advice for what to do when you are down.
Let's see. We've got Laura here. I think it was all fantastic advice. It was all fantastic, but I just liked it. I think if you follow all of those you can't possibly not be inspired. Yeah, that's tough.
It's a pretty dead heat. That's good. Alright, that's what I like to see. But at least people are paying attention because people put stuff in the chat and I like to see that. You like when people follow your directions, don't you? No, I just like when I know other people are alive.
The reason why I like doing live stuff is because I get to be on in the same… Look, everybody's in their house right now or whatever, but we're all sharing the same mind space. That's why. That's why I love it. So when somebody puts something in the chat, you know, it just makes me feel happy because I know there are other human beings out there. Usually it's Ellie and Elena will say something to me.
Altam will hit me up with a hello or whatever. I like when everybody does it. I guess I'm moody, Michelle. It comes down to that. Alright, so I'm going to wrap this up with a final call to action, two of them actually, because if you have your event tickets, make sure you reserve your room. That's just more for people that are already in.
Now, a lot of people that are on here, because we had like 1300 people on tonight, somebody might have invited you here. It's important for you to understand that everything in life that surrounds success is really based on decisions and the decisions you make. So I like the way Laura said it about running that movie in your head. So just for a quick second, I want to do like an exercise, literally a three second exercise. Run the movie in your head of if you keep doing whatever you're doing right now, for the next six months, what does that look like? Because if it doesn't look like what you want it to look like, there's a different decision that has to be made.
So I would encourage you that the decision that has to be made is to jump in and be part of the Empower Network community. Get signed up for $7 for a seven day trial of Kalatoo. See how much fun it is. Jump into the 21 day vlogging challenge. Michelle and the team will help guide you through that. You're not going to get any better help or support than you would get at Empower Network.
This is like literally a bunch of people who just give a damn. I don't know how to say it other than that. I've been doing this online marketing thing and made so much money and never encountered a group of people like this. They don't exist in any other community. And I'm not saying that because I'm part of it. I'm part of it because that's true.
You know what I'm saying? So what I would say is if that run that scenario, that movie in your head six months ahead, if it isn't what you want to be doing, make a decision. Make a different decision than you're making every day. Click the button over there. At least try out the Kalatoo platform being a member of Empower Network. That's just my advice.
And if you don't, we still love you. But I would advise you to make a different decision if your life's not going the way that you want it to go. So I'm going to end on that note. And just let everybody know again, if you have your event tickets, make sure you reserve the room because otherwise those are like double as of Friday. And we don't get anything for that. I just don't want anybody having to pay double for a room that they don't need to pay for.
So that's the reason why that's on there. So other than that, Michelle, any final thoughts from you? Perhaps? Maybe? Yes? No?
Final thoughts? Yeah, make sure you get to the event. You guys have seen the type of training, of teaching that we do. The events are awesome. You'll get to meet people like Laura, like Mars. We will be there.
And it's just really great to be around people who share your goals. Like Mars said, they've made a decision. They looked at their life and said, this isn't what I want. And they're willing to do what it takes to change that. Being around people like that in real life can completely change your outlook because you realize you're not alone. And it's okay to want more from your life and to go after that.
So come to the event, meet us there, get your tickets. That's my final thoughts. Great. I love the more the merrier. I hope somebody actually decides tonight to actually show up at the event. Laura, I am going to be having a private adult conversation with you about this Segway thing and just to get to know you a little bit better.
I really love the way you don't bullshit around. That's the kind of person that I like. Sean, I haven't met you yet, like virtually or at an event as far as I know. Maybe you came up and said hi to me and I forgot. Forgive me if I did. But it was awesome hearing you share your information.
I think it was really helpful to everybody. Michelle, you did a great job as always. Really seriously great job tonight. The whole team did. And with that, I'm going to wrap it. Do me a favor, Steve.
Play the make sure you reserve your room at the event video that we played at the beginning just so everybody remembers. And we will see you next Tuesday if you're not a member. Become a member and we'll see you on Thursday because we do this every Tuesday basically and every Thursday. The next broadcast will be on Thursday and it won't be me. It will be Jonathan Cronstedt, our CEO, because I really personally don't like being on video. I like being part of the thing, but I don't like being on.
So I'm going to wrap it up with that. Roll us out with that beautiful bean footage if you would. Tech guys. Hi, Kristen here. Just wanted to make a quick announcement. The Empower Network room block is closing this Friday.
That means the special discounted rates that we've secured for your stay in this exclusive hotel will not be available to you after Friday, 5 p.m. Eastern time on April 3, 2015. Now you don't want to lose out on the perks of being a Gaylord Opryland guest. Did you know that you will receive an exclusive Hotel Guest Empower Network Unleashed Goodie Bag loaded with discount coupons to local attractions, exclusive Hotel Guest Unleashed event swag, and Empower Network merchandise.
Those who are staying here at the hotel were able to have their names put in a raffle and my name was drawn so I got to have dinner with all those awesome guys. It's just like sitting down with family. Empower is a family. It always feels like family here, whoever I'm talking with or hanging out with.
I am still, you know, just pinching myself to be able to have that opportunity to spend that hour there eating dinner with Dave Wood. I sat right next to him. I got to speak with each of them about things that were of concern to me in my own field of specialty so I had questions that were answered but it was more like just a conversation. I just have to say, you just need to be at these events because you never know what will happen. Now if I didn't come to this event, I would have never been able to have dinner with Dave Wood and Jaykron this early on. This offer is only available for those who book their Gaylord Opryland Nashville room by 5 p.m.
Eastern Time on Friday, April 3, 2015. Do not miss this opportunity. If you don't book before then, your special bag, all the items in it, your special Empower Network room rates and the chance to share your hopes and dreams with Dave and Jonathan directly during dinner will just poof, disappear. So reserve your room now and I'll see you at this amazing hotel in Nashville. Congratulations on making the right decision to join us in Nashville to make sure that you're with the crowd and networking like crazy. We encourage you to reserve your room now before they sell out.
The events happening at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center and the link to get your special Empower Network room rate is just below this video. Staying in an alternative hotel just doesn't give you the same experience because all of the networking, fun and action happens at the event hotel.
There's no need to rent a car, get up early and fight traffic to get to the event probably late and feel pressured to leave early, missing the networking so you can get back to some other hotel. So click the button below this video and book your room now at the special rates we've negotiated for you and I look forward to meeting you personally at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville.
