Hey folks, this is Dave Wood. I'm talking to you from my home out in the mountains in Costa Rica. I'm excited to bring you today this Inner Circle call with Simon Stepsis. And he's somebody actually, he's been on my Skype here for about a year and a half. We met through an association in another business that was launching in the UK and connected with him a little bit but never really got a chance to build a relationship with him personally.
He's actually been succeeding in the marketing niche for quite some time. And just last month when we turned on the eWallet option for worldwide people to be able to finally build an Empower Network without having to go through hassles of getting shut down with PayPal and AlertPay and things like this, he kind of jumped on and started marketing. Placed, I think it was sixth in our competition, but here's the cool thing. This month, and obviously Simon, we'll wait and see until the end of the month, but this month you are actually the number one income earner here for the last four days. So you're in the top spot.
Might as well try to hold it. For the rest of the month, it's not bad for something new that's coming in. So what I want to do, obviously, is number one, just say congratulations on winning the contest. I can't even remember what sixth place is. Is it a MacBook Pro?
Is that what you win in that place? I think in the competition – oh, hi, everybody, by the way. Thanks for that great intro, Dave. It was the – I actually finished eighth in that competition. It was an iPad, the new iPad.
They don't call it the 3, but it's the third generation. Third generation iPad, and awesome. Well, we're going to have to figure out how to get one of those to UK. I imagine it's easy through the Apple Store or whatever. So we'll be sending those prizes out this week.
And just again, congratulations. I thought it was sixth, so I guess it was eighth. Still an incredible job, and we had a lot of people who were really pushing to place in the top ten in that competition. But what I always like to do is just to start off by just getting a little bit more about your background and your story. So maybe you could just share with people a little bit about your background, what else you do on and off the Internet, and how long you've been kind of working this game just so people can really know what they're connecting to here.
Because we obviously have some people come on the inner circle that are more new and have people that are more experienced like yourself. It's always good to get bold perspectives. But then also, you know, what you saw on Empower Network, what kind of led you here, and why you're excited now and really pushing this and what you see in this company. We'll start there, and then what I'll do is I'll start digging in and asking you some questions about what you do in your marketing. Is that cool, man?
Yeah, absolutely. Okay, great. Great. So I've now been online for over 15 years. I was actually on the Internet in 1995, so, yeah, a little bit old school.
Someone called me a veteran kind of marketer. I actually started making money full-time in 1997, and it was dial-up Internet then. Most people, you know, unless you're around then, you know, it was really slow anyway. So, yeah, I started, you know, marketing online. I met a very top Internet marketer, and actually direct marketer, and before that, I was in direct marketing, and I had my own list-broking business.
And I hooked up with a guy called Jeffrey Lance, and he's got a very successful business offline, and he was taking it online at the time, and then he taught me the, you know, about list-building on the Internet. And, again, by 1997, I was already earning a full-time income. It was both easy and it was both hard at that time because, again, nobody knew what the Internet was, what it was. And I quickly learned very, very early that, you know, especially off Jeffrey Lance, that, you know, you want to be building a list.
And, you know, it's not changed today, you know, 2012, and, you know, it's the same thing. You want to build your list. So, again, this is what I've been doing all that time, teaching, obviously, people from all over the world. I've traveled the world, spoken internationally, built teams of thousands both in the network marketing industry and the Internet marketing industry. And I've been with a lot of companies.
And it was literally, obviously, I knew I only recently joined the Empower Network. I did know about them in the launch. However, you know what it's like when you're focused and you're very entrepreneurial? You know, you don't, you know, I don't jump around from program to program. When I commit to something, you know, it is 100%.
But at that time, obviously, you know, I've got other income streams, multiple income streams, which, you know, Robert Allen teaches, which is a great, awesome guy and book. And, you know, so I was focused. I'm there. So, you know, I also knew about the international kind of setup with the payments. There wasn't sort of like ideal, you know, obviously, I'm in the UK.
So I held back a little bit. But, you know, I was definitely, you know, already moving in there. I watched a few of your videos. Obviously, saw us, you know, we knew each other from a previous company. So that was all good.
And then, obviously, you know, March, you know, is when I got serious. And, you know, then I saw this sort of like competition. I mean, I really didn't expect to go right up there in the earnings. So I hit my list with it.
Obviously, I've got a nice size. It's not a huge list by any standards. But, you know, it's a decent size. And the list, trust me, you know, when I, you know, I don't go jumping around, like I said before. I only go with, you know, companies that are really set up properly with good core products.
Okay. And, you know, I'm not into money games or anything like that. Good core products. And I've been teaching this. This is what I've been teaching, you know, for many years.
Webinars. I've been doing live video webinars since 2004. And that is the core product. You want to have a blog and you want high convert and lead capture pages. So this is all tying in perfect with the Empower Network.
The products are fantastic. You could get a blog all set up. Facebook integration with a plug in there, which literally costs hundreds, if not sometimes, of thousands of dollars. I mean, I was like, wow. I mean, I was just really.
I couldn't really, you know, I was really looking forward to going hard and promoting it. And as you know, the last day and last few weeks and the last couple of days have been phenomenal days in income wise. And I'm absolutely blown away by it. Brilliant. So that's basically, you know, quick updates and where I've been and what I'm doing and looking forward to moving forward with this.
And obviously, you know, I build, you know, I've got team support in place and getting the teams qualified. And, you know, making money. That's the key really here. So, yeah, you know, that's where we're going with it. So back to you.
Is there anything else you want me to add on that? Well, no, that's a great intro. But it's a good place to kind of branch off and start delving into a couple of different areas just on the things that you do. Because obviously some of the things that you do are interesting to me because I've never done them. And this is, you know, this is the beauty of these inner circle interviews.
It really gives me a chance to connect and to learn from what I see is the best. I see us attracting the best marketers on the planet here at Empower. Because we just have such. It's a good high converting offer that puts so much money so fast in people's pockets. One thing I wanted to point out and just talk about real fast, though, is just the value of that blog.
You know, a lot of people, when they come into Empower Network, they're either new to the Internet or they're, you know, kind of what I would call a snooty newbie, you know. They think they know everything and they make no money, right? And for me, you know, I've made pretty much my entire online business through blogging. I've built the entire thing. And just on a cost basis, you know, my personal blog now, if I look.
If I look at it, you know, my personal blog, you know, and we're talking. I had to build the, you know, the search engine rankings from zero, the authority from zero. All this stuff started at zero. And, you know, my personal blog, the design, I believe, cost me $1,600. I've probably had about another $10,000 in technology built into it, affiliate systems and things like this, just to track, you know, affiliate sales and things.
You know, hundreds of hours of redesign and tweaking things to, you know, optimize the traffic, optimize the search engine rankings. You know, with all the backlinks and the crazy stuff that I do on that thing. So it's a good point that you brought up. And I just kind of want to reiterate that for people. They really need to be using that blog.
We have a guy, and you'll like this. And I don't even know who this is. Maybe it was even you. I have no clue. But some guy came in and he's written like 300-something posts on our blog.
And he's getting like 50 leads. So just from writing three posts a day, he took our one a day and he just said, well, I'm just going to do three. And he's getting like 50 leads a day and signing up people on autopilot just from blogging and doing nothing more. Yeah. You know, you just mentioned that.
I actually, you know, started to use the blog. And, you know, again, I can't stress, you know, you want a WordPress blog. That's what I've been teaching. And I did a blog post and I ranked number one on Google on the first page with the Empower Network blog. So that tells me straight away this product is dynamite.
The cost there that obviously you set up on your personal blog, you can see there the value you get is phenomenal. And this is it. The core products are phenomenal. And, you know, when I do, I do a lot of webinars, webinar training. My coaching is always this, right, okay, you want a core product.
You want to set the foundations up for your internet business. You want a WordPress self-hosted blog. And, okay, right, so, you know, I give them some advice where you can go and get designed and maybe outsourced and things like that. But, you know, most people don't do it. But now I say, right, okay, you can get started.
I can, you know, show you how to get all set up, you know, optimize, top, you know, get on the search and everything. And I do the training on SEO. And I know you're good on SEO, outstanding in fact. And, you know, I'm pretty good on it myself, you know, with the keywords, et cetera. And I can say, right, okay, so not only are you going to get the blog, but I'm going to train you also.
And remember the training within the Empower Network is going to show you how to get and rank on the first page also. So, wow, that's absolutely phenomenal. So, it's just going to, you know, when you look at all these things put together, it's like, wow, you know, where do I sign up? I want to sign up again. Well, you're selling me.
I should put this in the sales video. I'm going to sign up again. Actually, I think I'm signed up like four times because I'm always testing our new payment gateways and then I forget to cancel my own subscription. So, I'm paying myself and a few other people all over the place. Good.
I just keep signing up. I can't help it. So, let's talk about a couple of things here. I want to delve into a couple of things. So, specifically with you and really kind of get in a good mode here of talking about, you know, how you've done some of the things you've done.
I'm interested in just a couple of things that you've done because, like I said, I don't do them and they're unique and I want to learn. And maybe we can also get you with some of the more advanced strategies that you teach on maybe a bonus webinar on the 15K product. Obviously, that product is $1,000. It's got a ton of, you know, some of the more hardcore visual marketing strategies in there. So, we can talk about that a little bit later as well.
But you said that you got involved in the internet marketing. It's based in 1997, which, by the way, great to have you on board. It's always incredible to have people with your kind of experience here. But before that, you were in direct marketing. Now, what's the difference between internet marketing and direct marketing?
Just for the clarification for a lot of the newbies out there that, you know, they haven't been exposed to this information. What's the difference? What are the two? Well, in reality, you know, they are actually the same thing because they really are. But it was more offline direct marketing.
So, what I was doing. I mean, literally before the internet was literally, it was, you know, through the post, you know, it was literally, I mean, it wasn't cheap, you know, to do direct mail offline, you know, it isn't cheap. You know, you've got to buy the envelopes. You've got to buy the labels, the list, the content that goes in the sales material. Or you can use a postcard.
In fact, actually, what I was doing, in fact, I still do it today, not heavily, though, is postcard mailing. So, a postcard, you know, is one of the cheapest forms of using direct mail, where you do need a list, and you can hire a list of buyers. You want people who have bought internet marketing products or, you know, internet kind of business opportunities, et cetera. Buyers are the best.
And obviously, you know, you'd rent that list and obviously send about, you know, send a postcard to them. So, that works, you know, that works really well. In fact, it actually works, you know, better than most things just based on the fact that, you know, the internet email marketing. I mean, you already know this email marketing. Well, it isn't, you know, it can be a challenge because, you know, when you send an email out, you know, not everybody's going to open that email.
We all know that. You know, then not everybody's going to click on it. So, you know, you do need a good, not, I wouldn't say you need a huge list because you don't because it's the relationship that you have with that list. I don't have a huge list, but I do produce good sales from that. But that leads me to another way which I have been, and we haven't talked about this, which you may or not know, and that is, and this is something I really do a lot of.
Okay, and that is SMS text marketing. Okay, this is, and this actually, you know, obviously, I went to number one in the sales very recently with, and this is what I was doing. I got all the people who were already enrolled with them in my team and the people who obviously had not paid also, you know, there's people who there haven't paid. And then I sent them an SMS with a deadline, and that created a lot of sales yesterday. And if I would have, I actually sent the email out, but we all know the email open rate, you know.
Hello? A 10%. Yeah, can you hear me? Yeah, yeah, we got cut off. You said we all know the email open rate, and then there's a little break there for about five seconds.
Oh, right. Let me just repeat it. Yeah, okay, yeah. The open rate on an email is not, you know, it's not fantastic. I mean, 10%, 20%, you know, you're doing great.
That's just the way it is with me. You know, all the marketers that I sort of like bought products on, they sort of like say they can, you know, they're getting similar results. And, well, with the 10%. The text message, okay, is the results are, I mean, well, personally, I read every single text message I've ever had. And I haven't had a mobile phone, you know, since they ever, you know, since they come out, I think, in the 80s or something.
So I've read every single text. Now, have I read every email? Never in a million years. You know, sometimes I get over 1,000 emails a day. Most of them are spam.
So, you know, it's always, you know, so text messaging is really, it's something that, you know, if the listeners on this call, they want to embrace and really have really good results. And that is collect. The mobile, I know in the U.S., it's cell phone out there. The cell phone of people. And then keep up date.
I use an iPhone. You can use online text messaging systems. Personally, I manage very well with my iPhone. I've just got the iPhone 4. And there's a group texter that I use.
And then when I come across people and connect with people who are involved in this industry, this niche, I add them as a contact. And then, obviously, I keep up date. I don't blast them all the time. I've got, obviously, you know, quite a lot of people now on board.
So I probably send a text every, you know, sometimes I go through stages, to be fair. I go sometimes, no more than one a week. That would be the max. One a week will keep me really busy. It might keep me busy for a whole month.
And then I might not text for three weeks. But then, you know, if I want to drop off more business, I'll send a re-text. And I can do this with opportunity seekers, MLM buyers. And, you know, it's a really good way. And offers, offers deadlines and things like that.
So I just wanted to get that back to you. Back to you. Yeah, no, that's interesting. Real quick, let's talk about this. Because we've actually been working on a handful of things here that are going to involve text messaging for a lot of things that we're doing.
Commission alerts, lead alerts, things like this in power. But also just, you know, we noticed that not everybody gets the emails. You know, we have an effort to our members about a 40% email open rate, which is ridiculous. But, you know, they're buyers. They're a little bit of a different list.
But, you know, we want a member's text messaging system. We just built an automated webinar. That's going to be an upsell funnel here in power to help, you know, new people get their people to buy more stuff that we're installing in a subdomain this week. That's going to have text message reminders for the webinars as well. So you just import contacts onto your iPhone and send text messages out in bulk like that?
I mean, are you talking thousands from your iPhone? Or do you have a service for that? I mean, we could talk about services later. But maybe, you know, a little bit of a higher end webinar. But, I mean, do you do that all from your iPhone for thousands of people?
Okay, yeah. With the text messaging, you don't need, what I found is you don't need masses of phone numbers, okay? I personally, and also with using the iPhone system and the group text, it's called group text. It's on the app store. Basically, I create groups of 300, anything over 300.
And it tends to overload the, obviously, the iPhone. You know, it is limited. But what you can do is I have, I've got more than 300. I've got many groups. I probably, I've not counted them.
So I've got, yeah, in the thousands in the app itself. But when I send a text out, I just send 300. There's about 300. I think the most I've got about 360 on a group. So I'll send a text out.
It'll go out to 360 people. And then I will leave it for, say, you know, 15, 20 minutes just to sort of like, you know, give the phone a bit of a break. And then I'll send the same text out to another group. And then so forth. Now, I won't do that too many times.
I'll probably, the most I'll probably ever send out in sort of like, you know, a couple of hours is maybe a couple of thousand. That would be the max. You know, so that would be the max. A strategy that I have been looking to implement would be to send part of my daily plan of action is to text just about, just once a day to 300. So that way, you're always going to get a trickle going, people going into your landing pages.
Maybe calling you back, texting you back. I'm interested. You know, there's so many different tactics you can use. But the main thing is you're right there. And this, you know, the fortunes and the follow-up and, you know, this is connecting and keeping connected.
And people have always said you're the most persistent person I know, Simon. And that is because, obviously, I know the importance of that follow-up. And, you know, when somebody says no to me, I mean, that doesn't mean no to me at all. I don't, you know, I don't, you know. They're just saying no that day there, you know, just to get me off the phone or maybe, you know, they're saying no in the text.
But the reality is they could be having a bad day. I'll follow up in a couple of weeks and all of a sudden, you know, I've had people on my list and text me back, yeah, you've been sending me information for, you know, on my list actually years. And then, you know, something will trigger. You know, maybe they've been laid off or, you know, they've been demoted. They're ready for a change and they come back.
So that's just the way. They're back to you, Dave. Yeah, no, no, great. And I hope everybody here has taken notice of that. I mean, that's something that doesn't even cost too much money.
And I've used that actually with great results for sales and upsells as well. And so just a quick question for you real quick. It was obviously the upsell promotion, getting people to buy the 15K per month formula. That's a tremendous amount of money regardless of whether it's a promotion or not to make in a day. How much of that would you say came from your text messages?
I would say, well, basically, it's hard to say because it was a combination of both because I was using the Empower email. I sent a couple of emails out within the system. I also emailed my list and then the texting also on the last day to, you know, encourage people to grab it. I wouldn't like to say, I mean, I would certainly say it definitely made a difference because I had some people come back to me saying, they weren't, in fact, this wasn't even a member, they were a free member, actually. They'd sort of gone in there but not paid.
So they come in all in. So, you know, everybody knows what all in is and what that's worth. I mean, you know, that was good money. So it definitely made the all in sale straight away and probably one or two others. Okay, awesome.
Well, that's enough information. I think there's somebody who wants to know and figure it out from there on the text messaging. I'm fascinated by it just because I haven't used it a lot because I'm one of these retards that didn't have a cell phone. So, you know, my wife bought me a cell phone a few weeks ago that I used to, you know, chat with her. I don't even know how to use it.
I haven't had one in, like, since, like, 2005. You know, it may make people chuckle on this, but that's actually true. I don't lie about that. I just haven't had a cell phone. I was broke for a while and didn't have one and just kept not having one.
So I'm a little bit behind the times on that, but I've seen it as a great marketing tool. I've actually used it successfully in the past to sell a lot of stuff before and recruit a lot of people just intermittently. I've said that. I've got a buyer's list for people who've bought an existing product and tell them about a webinar. I've gotten 300 people to show up to a webinar within an hour's notice before with text messaging.
So it really is a powerful tool. I'm going to pick your brain a little bit more on that later, see if we can implement some automation systems into a power network that would be useful for all of us. Let's talk a little bit about just the concept that you brought over, which is list building. Because I think a lot of people, especially, we bring in a lot of people that are a little bit of a different Internet crowd, Simon, I'm sure that you've seen it. You know, we bring in a lot of really, experienced marketers, but we're not like a typical attractive marketing company that only attracts people that, you know, have been struggling for, you know, 50 years.
We attract people that have never been attracted to any of this stuff at all before. And a lot of them don't even know, you know, they don't even know about list building. They don't know about the value of a list. So obviously when we're talking about that, and so everybody here, you know, if there's anybody new listening to the call, when he's talking about a list, he's just talking about a list of people that you communicate with regularly and you have an offer of something that they can buy and you can communicate with the list. It could be a text messaging list.
You can have a direct mail list where you're sending, you know, direct mail pieces to frequently. You can have a phone broadcasting list. You could have a telemarketing list where you have a telemarketing room calling a list for you. Even the people that you know, you know, people who are listening to the audio, even people you know, the relatives, they're a list. There may not be a buyer's list, but they're a list, you know.
So what we're in the business of doing is list building. But talk to me a little bit about this because a lot of people, it's treated and they don't see a lead as a list. They see a lead as just, you know, just an anonymous thing. So I can tell you, I understand it. Can you talk a little bit about some strategies that you've used over the years?
You've been doing this for a long time on keeping your list responsive and keeping them buying stuff because this is such a strong key that if people get this, even if Empower Network goes down, which we're not gonna, but if we did, if you build a list here, you've got the list. You know, you know what I mean? So let's talk a bit about list buildings and what you've done because you've been doing this forever, you know, to keep your list buying stuff. How do you treat your list? What do you do?
Offline and online. Let's talk about that. Okay. Well, basically, yeah. I mean, obviously, there's lots of different ways to build a list.
You know, we just mentioned a few of them. Another way, actually, just while we're on this subject, which is, again, this is a very powerful and I, you know, again, all the listeners, you want to do this, build a Skype list, okay? Skype is one of the best tools that you can use and here's the reason why. Okay, if people sometimes, you know, when you're emailing your list regular, what's gonna happen? You will get unsubscribers, okay?
And some people think that's a bad thing. Some of them in the market don't like to email the list too often. I'm really the opposite. I really am. I mean, I really, you know, I like to email regular.
I mean, virtually every single day, you know, I mean, I'm serious there. I mean, I've even, you know, emailed on Christmas Day. So I do email a lot and sometimes, you know, you're gonna lose subscribers. But if you've got people on Skype, okay, you can always connect with them. And, you know, this one Skype list that I have, I've got about 3,000 contacts there.
So there's a list of 3,000. Now, most of them people are probably not on my list, my email list. But it means that I can go with them and do a blogging. I can do a blog post, get some information to them. And then, as you know, once you post them to your blog, okay, your Empower blog, and then you've got your, you know, your landing page link at the top and at the sign at the bottom there, which takes them to the, you know, to the opt-in page to build your list.
I mean, that's, you know, it's a very powerful strategy, that. So that's just another way. But, you know, the key with list building is really is a lot of exposure, mass exposure, really. And, you know, it's all a matter of, you know, how driven you are. You know, some people are more driven than others.
And, you know, and I've got a lot of energy, and they put a lot of energy, and they produce, you know, masses of action and massive results. And, you know, all driving them to your capture page, your lead capture page, which obviously you've got three high converting lead capture pages with the Empower, which I've been teaching, you know, people to use for, you know, for years. So before the Empower network, obviously I've got many different landing pages, different kind of offers. However, here's what I really want to share with everybody is, okay, I have got some very good converting, some brilliant converting landing pages. However, even today now, and even, you know, obviously, you know, I became the, you know, number one earner, you know, last few days of the Empower, is I use the Empower landing pages.
Okay. So this is great for every guy out there. Some people will think, oh, well, you've got your own landing page, Simon, and you're on video there, and you're, you know, people, you know, can see that your energy comes through and this, that, and the other. Well, I don't use that. I'm using the Empower network landing pages, the squeeze pages.
So that's brilliant for everybody out there. But remember, I do a lot of marketing. So I am doing a lot of marketing. I do outsource, you know, sort of like classified marketing, things like that, some video marketing, and articles I've outsourced as well. But basically, the more manual kind of strategy, the free strategies I tend to outsource, and then the paid, obviously, you know, sources of marketing, obviously, I just, I do that myself.
Yeah, I mean, you know, people is, you know, how to keep people, you know, buying things over and over again. And that is this. Don't offer rubbish, you know. You know, there's a lot of people out there. There's, you know, the internet's full of, you know, I wouldn't say it's full.
There is a lot of rubbish out there. There is, you know. There's people promoting all kinds of programs, and this, you know, you have to be careful. Only partner with companies that have got core quality products. And that's all I've done.
I mean, don't get me wrong. I mean, I've promoted some ClickBank products over the years that have been rubbish. I mean, I have. I admit it. But however, I will say this is, you know, we all make mistakes, and I won't make this mistake again.
And I've moved on from there. I never ever promote or recommend. I don't go in. I only would promote any kind of product unless I personally use that product, and my list knows that. So when I do that, so when I do recommend anything, and sometimes it, you know, I can imagine my readers saying, all right, it's another email from Simon, and they might open it, and that's fine.
You know, that's nothing wrong with that. However, you know, at least I'm staying in connection with them so they can never forget about me, maybe because I send so many emails out, and obviously with a combination of text messaging and Skype connection. And this basically, you know, they get to know I can trust you, okay? And these are the three words, know, like, and trust. The other way that, obviously, is to do with, I do a lot of video, and I know you do a lot of video.
And I did video back in, I was one of the first people using video on the internet, video webinars back in 2004. That was a couple of years before YouTube even started. And yeah, basically, I knew straight away video, people get to know I can trust you better than any kind of text ever can or any kind of like, you know, any kind of written word. So, you know, to do a video is very, very powerful. It's probably, I would say, my number one way to get people to buy more stuff from you, okay?
It is, apart from face-to-face. Face-to-face is the ultimate, okay? So I do, you know, if people want to meet me, I'll go and meet them and meet them in a hotel and have a coffee and things. Obviously, I can't do that internationally. I can't just jump on a plane and do that.
But, you know, if that's different, if it's a conference, a convention, yes, I'll do that. So, yeah, you know, so get lots of video out. I basically, I like to get at least one video per day out on the internet. And, again, driving them to my lead capture page, the Empower Network one I've been sending them to. And obviously, you know, in my email like today, I sent a video out and the video was just a video about, you know, how the Empower Network has been going and, you know, why I recommend it, quality call products, 100% commissions.
This really did it for me, Dave. The 100% commissions, you know, I have made a lot of companies over the years a lot of money, millions of dollars. I mean, I have. And I know you have. And I know a lot of other people also have.
And the company name, I mean, they're not around anymore, but they actually paid 100% commissions. Okay, which, and I stuck with that company right until the end. Unfortunately, it just went by the wayside. Now, we didn't have any monthly commissions. I didn't get any monthlies off that.
But I did it off the front end. And the reason being is because of that reason, 100% commissions. We also get the residuals, 100% commissions. And the quality call products. So, I mean, seriously, I mean, it's, you know, and we're just getting started.
I mean, so it's all, everything's in place here. And, you know, I don't believe anybody out there is going to say, you know, anybody out there would not be, you know, looking, Empower Network, think, well, you know, the products are all meshel, you know, the compensation plan on rubbish is 100%. You know, not 50, not 75, not 90. You get 100 there. You know, when I'm talking to people and some people in the video and saying, look, you know, my last company and 50%, you know, you may want to promote a ClickBank product.
Sometimes you might get 75%. In fact, I do have ClickBank products, I can't compete with, you know, the Empower 100. I can't give them 100 — well, I could, but, you know, that's just, you know, a lot of the standard kind of the ClickBank products are sold that way. But yeah, I mean, you know, that's kind of, you know, a little bit more information about, you know, how, what I'm doing, the list, and connecting and getting people to know why I can trust, in using video. One of my YouTube channels, I've got about 500 videos on there in about 18 months I've had that channel.
So sometimes I, you know, I mean, this is a good thing I do like to do, is sometimes I'll record three videos, and, you know, you don't need any fancy camera, just so you're aware. I use, I record my videos now with my iPhone, obviously my iPhone, my iPad, and outside of that I use Camtasia, you know, to do some screen videos and share a little bit more tutorial videos with Camtasia, which, you know, a lot of, I know you use also.
Yeah, so that's it, back to you, Dave, anything else? No, dude, that's great. So, basically, you know, I just want to rehash for everybody on here, because there's a lot of information here that's valuable, and a lot of it's valuable to different categories of people. But I think the biggest thing that somebody could pull from this, who especially was new, is that you've got to do stuff daily. I mean, I actually pulled up, as we were looking for some assignments, and I went to your YouTube channel, because I always, you know, when somebody says something I always check on channels, like, are they actually doing it, what they say they do. And I'm looking on there and I see videos posted every day, you know. I mean, you've got, in the last year or something like that, year and a half, 510 videos, and that's what you do every day. And I remember when I first got online, this is a really breakthrough experience, it showed me the power of relationships that you could create on the internet. I got online, I started making videos every day, exactly like you're saying to do. I was actually nervous when I first started, so I did screencasts, because, you know, I was nervous sitting there in front of a camera, I wasn't auto, it just felt weird, it felt awkward. But, you know, I didn't feel it myself, and so I did screencasts for a while, which was kind of comfortable, because — but here's what happened. Number one thing that happened, I got a lead from one of my videos. I called them, and they recognized my voice, and so there's no resistance in talking to a person. I didn't call them — they said, who the heck is that? I called them and I said, hey, it's that guy from the internet, and it was a breakthrough for me. But the second breakthrough that I had, this is huge, I kept making videos every day. Of course, today I still make videos almost every single day. And then I went to an event, and I met — it wasn't one person, it was like hundreds of people that came up to me, like they knew me and were my neighbor, you know what I mean? They came up, they said, hey, Dave, how you doing?
Good to see you. And I'm like, hey, you know what I mean? I was like, oh, I've seen people. They know me, they know my wife, they know my dog, you know? It was YouTube, probably.
I mean, I've got you off there. What were you saying? Yeah, well, I just want to share this. This is for everybody out on the call. This is what happened the first time.
This is actually when I was, I mean, we know YouTube, the number one, we know that. This is what happened. Now, this obviously was when I first started, this is when I knew the power of video. I put a video on there promoting a product, a company. It was a $3,750 sale.
I put a video on, you know, just saying, look, this is a great product. There's my link, go and buy it, basically, and, you know, obviously getting straight to the point there. And somebody did. Somebody did. And I went, wow.
That video, it took me three minutes to record. It took me about two minutes to get on YouTube. There was no fancy video editing or anything like that. It was just me talking on the camera saying, look, I recommend this product, and this is what it's about. And he went and bought it.
And I know that for a fact, because he sent me an email. He said, I saw your video on YouTube. And I get calls like that every single day. And it's free. And not only that, as you know, you're putting videos on, well, on any of the channels, you will be ranked.
So long as you, you know, long tail keywords, you know, the SEO kind of stuff, you can get ranked on. You will be ranked on the first page of Google. In fact, my channel is, my channel is on some keywords, some very good keywords as well, which I was surprised. No, I've had experience with that as well. It's valuable.
And maybe we get, maybe we get another training with you sometime in the future. So video is powerful, guys. Second thing is, don't be afraid to reach out with other marketing modalities. Okay. It's not just email.
A lot of people, they see this internet stuff and they say, I got to build a big email list. Well, there's a lot of people who don't have a big email list who make a lot of money. And the reason is, is because everybody's paying attention to email. Nobody's paying attention to text messaging. Nobody's paying attention to direct mail.
Nobody's paying attention to marketing. There's all kinds of marketing modalities that you can use out there. Now also for anybody here who's listening to this audio, Simon, I just want to tell you, I appreciate you for coming on. This is a good place to kind of end the audio. But what I want to encourage everybody here to do is a couple of things that can give you a good idea on a couple of things we taught on this call.
And then I want to get Simon out to do some more maybe high-end training for people that's a little bit more visual and goes through some more specifics. But if you go through and you buy the, everybody here has shown the Costa Rica Mastermind Intensive product. I go in there. And I talk about something called the marketing triangle that goes over the core modalities of reaching out to people and how to increase conversions through reaching out to people in more than one marketing method. Because most people miss the boat in only talking to people through email.
You need to learn to do that. The second thing is everybody here should own the 15K formula. If you don't, you need to go buy it now. It's $1,000. And when you go buy that product, we go over direct mail.
We go over telemarketing. We go over voice broadcasting. We go over text messaging. It's an interesting strategy that I would like to put in there. We've got a bonus webinar happening, depending on when you're listening. This is actually happening tomorrow. But it will probably be recorded by the time you listen, whoever's listening to this audio.
In that bonus webinar, we're going to be talking about magazines, direct mail, list building. We have solo ads back there, how to do Facebook PPC. And these are the strategies that gangster marketers like Simon used to send out a text message. I had no idea that's what you did. So obviously, it's up to valuable strategy so just want to thank you for the insights and the tidbits there.
I'm gonna pop this up in the inner circle. And anything I can do for you, man, any questions you've got for me, something I could help you out with, maybe?
Well, just while you're on there, what I did, which I really like, and I really like to get people on, I did — you know your Facebook, you know, the Facebook group, you know, Facebook groups, I mean, I've had them, and I just set another one up actually. But I want to put, you know, the banner at the top with the, you know, the — don't post the links, you know, keep it, keep it, you know, regarding the Empower. I mean, how did you get that on there? Just quickly.
Yeah, real quick, there's a little button up there that says, after the change group photo, you have to hover over it and it pops up, and then you just upload a photo. But the only problem is that I can't figure out — maybe somebody else could help me out with this, and I'm going to talk about the Facebook group here in a second too — is that anybody, a lot of people, can change the group photo to what people want, uploading random things, all the time. We have to delete it and then re-upload it. So I'm trying to figure out a way to make one. But you just usually hover over the top, there's a little plus button, hit the plus button, hit upload photo, and then you could upload that with the rules.
And that's one thing that I want to talk about too. If you're talking about list building, there's real value — you know, we ran into an issue here, Simon, where people weren't getting, you know, the emails for a while. Then we fixed that, but now it takes — it maybe, you know, if you send out an email to the members database, it might take 12 or 20 hours to get out to everybody, just because we have such a large member base now. But what we found is that if we engage people in the Facebook group, people get those notifications instantly.
And so, for example, just the other day, I'll give you an example of the strategy that I used that was really helpful, because we were running these promotions, and I only put members back there and no free people back there. And when a member comes, they get an email automatically. In our system, they buy the product, they get an email now, and the bottom of the email has a link to that Facebook group. When they sell up products, they get a commission notification — the commission notification for the basic membership, it's not the rest yet, but it will be — it says, join our Facebook group. So we have members selling stuff, they get a notification, they join the Facebook group. We put it in all the emails, so we have the members going back there all the time.
But just as an example, yesterday, a strategy that I used, and it worked really well, is I popped out there about an hour before we did this price increase, and I said, guys, there's an hour left to do the price increase, if you don't have the product go buy it right now, and also paste this in your Facebook groups. So we teach people, Simon, not only to get in our group but also to have their own Facebook groups. So what happens is a member will — they'll be in the group, I'll say, post this in your Facebook group, you'll have 30 people copy that message, posted in their groups all at the same time, and we'll have 10,000 people get the notification that, hey, the price is increasing in an hour.
Then, you know, 20 minutes later, I posted again in the groups, but I said, guys, we only have 40 minutes left, 40 minutes on the price, this is the last chance, at exactly this time I'm increasing the price, I've got my finger over the button. And then I did it about every five minutes for that hour. But here's the interesting thing — that hour, the sales had to slow down a little bit, right, because it was nearing kind of late in the day, it was getting near midnight Eastern time, which is when we increased the price. But I started that, we did a little over ten, or it was like ten or fifteen thousand dollars in sales, and I would track most of it back to people making decisions in that Facebook group and then reposting them in their group.
So Facebook, Skype, incredible tools to keep a list together, because it keeps people responding, because even if they opt out of a personal list, they're not going to opt out of Facebook. So that's just a great little tidbit that you reminded me to share with people.
Yeah, well, just another thing, also, because, you see, you know, I'm also educating myself, and also, you know, there is so many different ways to market. Sometimes, you know, you think, oh, right, yeah, that way is a great way also. And I picked up a tip on the Facebook, and it was — it was a member in there, he was a UK guy actually, he was in Spain, in Barcelona — and this is a strategy I use all the time even today, and I thought I need to get this out more and teach and coach it more, and that is: you basically, yes, we all have a capture page and, you know, collect the email, but also, if you actually send an email — if you send an email to your autoresponder, or get people to send an email to your autoresponder, you can have it set up where they're automatically added to your list. And this is what I actually do on some of my landing pages. I will say, click here, automatically their email will open, and all they do is, you know, click on — like, send a blank email to this email. I can send it in an email, I can send it in a Skype group, you can paste that in your Facebook groups, in other Facebook groups, you can paste that in just your Facebook status. Look, if you want to learn this, you know, the seven secrets are making, you know, six figures, you know, in the next 90 days, just send — autoresponder, and then they'll automatically be subscribed instead of opening up your landing page and then they've got rent on their email. That's another strategy — it's a very powerful strategy, you can get 30, 40 leads coming in daily just using that strategy.
No, it's a great strategy, so that's the value. I mean, just — I've still never done it, so now I'm gonna do it, because now I've heard that coming from two people who make a lot of money. So this is just, I mean, we're talking about, you know, quick conversations, the value of listening to these Inner Circle audios every day. I've learned an unbelievable amount of time talking to leaders like you, and this is my education, you know, it's learning this stuff. So now another strategy I could use to push you, you know, in a little bit more, but I mean, I'm not — I'm not a kid, you know, I can see what people are saying, and, you know, I'm not a kid, but I can see the value of making your business a little bit bigger. Let's say, you know, 30, 40 leads a day out of — 30, 40 leads a day, I mean, that's — that's 100 bucks a day, you know, 30 bucks a day in marketing, you know.
Yeah, well, what you can do, what you can do — that strategy about sending an email to this list, what you can do, you can put that in a classified ad, you can put that in a text ad. So instead of just texting a landing page all the time, go to email to this email address, and then your autoresponder is there. And the autoresponder, if you set the campaign up with something like a thousand a day or something like that at yourresponder.com, then, you know, people will do that. And these smartphones, you know, everyone's got email, they click send, they're subscribed immediately.
Wow, oh great, brilliant strategy, you just gave me about 18,000 ideas, so I'm gonna, I'm gonna screw around with some of these now. So, good place to end it. Simon, wanted to thank you for coming out, and just, you know, the value that you brought here, it's an incredible value to put this in this membership that we have. You gave me some stuff, five things probably that I'm gonna go and apply in my marketing right now after the call. So if you're listening to this in your car and you don't get it, listen to it three or four times, there really is a lot of information that we just covered. And just looking forward to seeing you on the beach of the world, man, seeing some of our events, and just, I want to help you get to an extra million a month or so here coming up, and I think we'll do it, you know, I think you'll do it. If you can't go on the way that you're going — you're on track this month to hit about 60,000, if you kept doing it, which time will tell, you know. So, yeah, awesome, thanks, Dave.
Yeah, thanks, Dave.
