If you’ve ever wondered why it is that there are many millions of websites in existence, yet only a small fraction of these websites receive a significant amount of Google traffic, I am about to blow your mind.
Many people do not realize that Google traffic is absolutely vital to the success of their website. Whether they are running an online business or just trying to spread a message, Google traffic is absolutely vital to your success. Without consistent Google traffic, your wonderful content is basically useless.
Over 90% of the traffic on the internet comes through search engines like Google. Google traffic accounts for about 70% of all search engine traffic. When people are looking for information in your niche, they are most likely going to be using Google to search for it. This is why creating Google traffic is so important for your website!
Google Traffic 101
All traffic on the internet is driven by good content.
Sure, you can get traffic from bad content. You can get Google traffic by spamming your link everywhere. But let me ask you, how many of the top websites got popular because they spammed their garbage on the internet? Zero.
The straight fact is, if you want to get consistent, high-quality, targeted Google traffic to your website, you MUST create quality content. To be more specific, you must create content that people not only want to discover, but content that they enjoy reading, viewing, sharing, etc. So let this mantra be the core foundation for your content: QUALITY first.
But what good is quality if your article is only 100 words long? It’s not good for anything, of course! Your reader will arrive at your site only to find that you wrote one awesome paragraph. They will then leave your site and look for someone that can supply them with enough information for them to make their decision.
To acquire Google traffic, you must also have a specific quantity of content. A healthy minimum for an article is 500-700 words. I usually shoot for 1000 words when I am writing a blog post. This is important when it comes to creating Google traffic. If you miss this part you are toast.
Also, you will obviously need some way to track visits to your website. I recommend Google Analytics. It’s free, easy to use, and extremely informative. As you can see in the image below, this is my web traffic from 2/1/13 to 3/1/13 (The first month of this blogs existence.

The reality is that most blogs/websites take about 2 years before they really get off the ground… unless you are in The Empower Network. The main reason I joined the Empower Network was because I could start having real people reading my content from day 1! Just click on the image below to see the average traffic a brand new blog will receive in its first year of life. If you compare the image below to the image above, you will quickly see why it is highly advantageous to join the Empower Network.
As you can see, it took this person about 1 year to receive 300 visits per month, which is just 10 visits per day. I have only been blogging for one month and I already receive 10 visits per day. What’s crazy is that I haven’t even start doing any real off-page SEO or marketing yet!
Google Traffic & Content Creation 101
Content is broken down into 4 main subcategories: articles, images, videos, and social media.
When focusing on creating Google traffic, you need to have a balance of these four categories. As you may notice, on this page I have articles, images, and social media buttons for sharing. In other posts, I have all four of these things. I receive a lot of Google traffic to my blog because of this.
The main reason having a balance of these four qualities is good is that it makes your content very fun to read and look at. Who wants to read a 5,000-word post with no pictures or videos?? I sure don’t. On the other hand, most people would love to read a 2,000-word post that is loaded with interesting images, video clips, and links.
Having this balance also increases the likelihood that someone will share your content with others. You want your content to be AWESOME information that people will want to share with their friends! Over time your content may become a well-known resource in your chosen niche.
Remember: Your Google traffic will steadily increase over time as you build authority.
Building your authority is a slow process. Adopt a ‘long-haul’ mindset. You can’t really expect your traffic to be incredible overnight, or even in your first month. Remember that there is a learning curve in the Google traffic game. You must be patient, be willing to learn and adapt, and cultivate a strong desire to become the best you can be.
Consider your website part of your lifestyle. Chances are, you share content all the time from week to week on the internet. All you need to do is share that content through your website instead. Over the years, you will have created many hundreds and even thousands of web pages!
Every single one of these pages will pull in Google traffic! The more quality content, the merrier!
Google Traffic & Paid Marketing
There is no better quality Google traffic than Google traffic that is looking for your quality content. There is no better quality lead than leads that sign up from your quality content. The problem is, you can only get so much traffic through content by yourself. If you are doing the whole show by yourself, its a slow-build process that takes many months and years.
This is where paid marketing comes in. If you don’t want to wait a year or two for your Google traffic, you don’t have to. If you have the cash, you can spend it to get traffic to your website right NOW. Paid marketing can cost anywhere from to depending on your budget. Generally, the more you spend, the more traffic you will get.
It’s very hard to find quality paid marketing. Most paid marketing traffic won’t be as good as your organic Google traffic. But, if you are knowledgeable about marketing, you can get very, very close.
So the question is, “How do you get high-quality paid marketing traffic?”
The answer is trial and error. It will take time to figure out which marketing works the best. You will likely fail in 9/10 of your attempts at paid marketing. So, be patient. The nice thing is, once you figure out what works, you are set.
The main downside to paid marketing is that you must continuously fork out cash to keep your Google traffic coming in. If you have a small budget, it is better to keep your paid marketing to a minimum. Instead, focus on creating quality content that will generate residual Google traffic.
Paid marketing can be a HUGE benefit to your website if done correctly. I recommend that you reinvest about 20-30% of your profits back into paid marketing.
