500 Piece Internet Entrepreneur Jigsaw Puzzle

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

Many people dive into being an Internet Entrepreneur because they like the idea of being their own boss. With no boss telling you what to do, life would be much simpler, right?

Not really.

It’s fun and exciting to be an Internet Entrepreneur, but it ain’t easy.

But, it is rewarding and lucrative if you focus and persevere.

You Gotta Start Somewhere Mr. Internet Entrepreneur

When you start out, it feels like you are working on a 500 piece jigsaw puzzle that your cat got into. Some pieces are under the couch or in another room. Some have been chewed up and spit out.

You start in a place of ignorance. You don’t know what you don’t know and the puzzle pieces don’t all fit yet.

You will follow people and learn from people and people are going to tell you what to do. But, is what they’re telling you right for your business? Your niche?

Maybe. Maybe not.

It’s okay to struggle. Think of going to university or college. Everything is hard and you try to figure out how it will all fit together to make you successful after it’s all over. Did you come out of school and know exactly what to do next?

Probably not. At least 99% of people don’t know.

Did you come out of college looking for just the right company to work for, and when you get there, you didn’t end up doing what you wanted to do with your career. You had to wait and go through the school of hard knocks. Plugging away with eighty hour weeks hoping that it would prove you worthy of a promotion so you could do what you want.

It’s a sad treadmill that is often inescapable.

Until now.

Mr. Internet Entrepreneur Graduates From Own College

Online marketing is similar to the college-to-job example except you can control the outcome.

Whether you are working with an MLM, affiliates, or have your own products to sell, this is an industry that has so many variations, opportunities, successes and failures. You have to know how to communicate, how to sell, how to market, how to attract people.

You have to learn all that. Most people don’t. And that’s why they don’t move ahead.

This is an education industry. You can’t just keep buying the next best thing. You have to learn the skills that will help you pull the money in.

You can’t keep jumping from deal to deal to deal. You will be back on the dreaded treadmill of going nowhere.

Learn a marketing skill, like blogging. Get good at it. Learn how to constantly improve it. Then incorporate other tactics to complement it. Then you move into automation, and learn other new things.

It’s an evolution. And you control where you go. Not a boss.

Are You Sabotaging Your Own Success?

So, you’ve been doing the training. You’ve been on lots of calls and webinars. You’ve been plugging away at marketing, and still wonder why you’re not making the big bucks.

The system you bought isn’t going to work by itself. You have to do the work.

If you’re struggling, it’s you. If you’re succeeding it’s you.

It’s not about the market, where you live, what’s going on in the industry, or that shiny new system or program that you bought.

It’s about you or your plan.

You see others succeeding, but do you also see their struggles. Maybe that ‘successful’ guy, had 2000 rejections before his first sale came in. Or maybe he had health issues or marital problems.

Every story is different.

What’s your story?

Keep putting the puzzle pieces together. You may even have to jam a piece from another puzzle into it and actually make a whole new puzzle.

You are in charge of your own success. Remember your goals. Have a plan. Take massive action!
