Practicality dictates that everyone's results will vary as we are all unique and different. Basically, it takes hard work to make a substantial income in this business, and some people will make no money at all. The earnings of an Empower Network affiliate will be 100% dependent upon their skills, work effort, commitment, leadership capabilities, and market conditions. Common sense would suggest that in most opportunities, one would find exceptional individuals performing well above average, while others perform under the average. Empower Network does not guarantee any level of income or your success.

Okay, welcome, welcome, welcome to tonight's edition of the Empower Hour for Empower Network. My name is Chris Rushlow, and I am your host for the night, and I am being the change that I want to see in the world, and I sure do hope that all of you are. And I just want to welcome you out tonight, welcome you to the call, and we've got a few cool things for you tonight, a few things to let you know about, a few things to help you understand, and we're going to bring somebody out here real soon here that's going to help you understand a little bit more about what we've got going on in Denver here in about a week and a half now. So with that, I just want to welcome everybody out.
My name is Chris Rushlow, and I just want to tell you a quick story, guys, just to let you know. You know, I got started in this industry, in this industry that we call internet marketing, you know, about three and a half, almost four years ago. And before that, I was a real estate agent that was constantly working, you know, all hours of the day, constantly. I was working days, I was working nights, and didn't really have the lifestyle that I really, really wanted. Didn't really necessarily, you know, I wasn't really happy.
Always getting phone calls, constantly working. Never had time for fun, never had time for friends, never had time for family. And I really just let it consume me, you know, really let life just consume me to a point where my health was really bad. You know, a doctor even told me, you know, hey, at the young age of 28, you know, your adrenal glands are shot from drinking too much coffee, trying to go all the time, just running on adrenaline and caffeine. And, you know, so I knew that it had to, you know, it was time to make a change.
And what happened for me is that I finally decided that, you know, I just completely pretty much broke down and had no energy left to continue building my real estate business as a real estate agent up in Fairbanks, Alaska. And so because of that, I stepped away. And, you know, it's funny because it took me a long time. I was really trying to find my way after that and had a real tough time for a couple years where, you know, I really just got to a point where, you know, I think the following couple years, you know, my income for the whole year. It was four figures.
You know, I was struggling. I even went on unemployment and, you know, just completely just about lost everything, you know. And the feeling that, you know, where I was riding so high and felt like I had a lot of, you know, momentum in my life when I was in real estate, you know, all of a sudden, you know, I stepped away from that and all that was gone, you know. And I really had to because I just ran myself into the ground. And so here I was, you know, a couple years after real estate, still really, really struggling.
And not really knowing what I was going to do, not really finding my way in life. And, you know, so everything else was really suffering because of that. Still not happy even though I wasn't just, you know, dealing with overwhelm. Now it has totally switched in my life to now where I was just not happy because I didn't have any money to be able to pay for anything. I was in debt, you know, really just beyond rock bottom, you know.
I mean, I'd have to go up to get rock bottom. You know, nothing in my life was working. I was very depressed. And, you know, the person I'm going to introduce you to here in a couple minutes, you know, a buddy of mine called me up and said, you know, I found this way to make a lot of money online. And I thought to myself at first, well, you know, because he's my buddy, I'm going to listen and, you know, at least take a look at what he's doing.
You know, but I was skeptical just like a lot of you might have been the moment you took a look at what we had and what we've had to offer here at Empower. And that's okay. You know, that's okay. That's okay that, you know, you may be a little skeptical about what has happened. But, you know, it's okay.
Pay attention and you'll see tonight a lot of the cool developments that have happened. So, you know, back to the story. He called me and told me this. And so I said, okay, you know what? Let me take a look at this and find out what I can.
And what I had to do was I really had to reserve judgment, you know, and I really just had to take a look at it. And honestly, had I been doing really, really good in my life, you know, where I had been at, you know, I was at that point. I was at that point where I was just really looking again. You know, I might not have paid attention to it. And, you know, some of the things that a lot of you might want to know is that, you know, if you've got a friend or a family member that tells you to take a look at something, you know, sometimes you may be a little hesitant at first.
Or you may be that person where, you know, you're trying to tell a few people about this and you get a little frustrated at times because some people don't listen to you. I'll tell you what happened with me, okay? You know, my very close friend Dave, who I'm about to bring out here, you know, in a few minutes, just said to me, look, just suspend all judgment, suspend all judgment about this, and take a look at what I'm doing, and I'm sure that you'll find something here that you might be able to use. And so, you know, I did that. And fortunately, you know, I kind of got the vision.
I realized what was going on here. And I started working towards, you know, learning how to make money online. And, you know, for me, it took me a long time to actually even make money, much longer than anybody else has, you know, that I know of, because we didn't have this system that we have here. I'm here for you tonight, that we didn't have this, and this vision, and this group of leaders and leadership that we have here to help people, you know, get started and be able to have success in this industry in a very short amount of time. And that hadn't, you know, that wasn't my experience.
And, you know, a lot of people wouldn't necessarily stick around that long, but I can tell you that, you know, some people it takes longer, but they finally get it. To me, it took a long time. I was stubborn. Had I listened to the guy who's coming up on this call a little more in the beginning, it wouldn't have taken that long, and I would have had a lot more success. But hindsight's always 20-20 vision, right?
So, you know, the thing about tonight is, you guys, happy 4th of July weekend, okay? And hope everybody had some rest, got a chance to hang out. Everybody got a chance to have some fun over the weekend. You know, we're here in the States, in the U.S. We celebrated.
It's 4th of July, and, you know, the birth of our country and the vision behind the country and the freedom that we so closely hold and value and honor in this country, at least, you know, we really reflect out into a power network. We want to create freedom for a lot of people. You know, for me personally, you know, I'm a part of this thing, and my purpose and my part and my piece and my puzzle, the piece to the puzzle in here that I play is I really want to be able to set you free in your mind. I want you to realize that anything here is really possible. I want you to realize how powerful you really are, and, you know, the proof we have in that is because there's many, many, many that have become before us that have done the same thing and realized this and changed their whole lives.
Just going through the process of this company and going through the process of learning how to make money online, how to market through Internet marketing, and this company is more than just a company that has products that show you how to do that. As you'll find out, as you'll hear a little bit more tonight from David Wood himself, the co-founder and CEO of Empower Network, you're going to see, you're going to hear how this thing has developed into what we're going to show you in Denver. Because here's the cool thing, guys. I've known Dave for a long time. I've actually been, you know, we've actually been buddies.
We grew up together back in Fairbanks, Alaska. And, you know, some of the crazy things that Dave actually had to do in order to learn what he did, in order to be able to bring that to everyone else so that everyone else can succeed, profit from it, benefit from it, you know, amazing sacrifices. And I remember one story where we were actually walking into a grocery store. Some of the craziest things, you know, that most people wouldn't do, Dave was actually willing to do. And that's one of the reasons why he's where he's at today and is going to be able to speak from the experience he has tonight to show you this.
But let me get back to the story here. So we walk into a grocery store that, you know, is more, well, grocery store, and we walk up to the customer service counter and I'm standing there with Dave and, you know, at the time we're trying to build another business offline and doing things the traditional way, the traditional methods. And he goes right up to the front counter and he slams his hand down and looks at the person at customer service and says, I need to see your manager right now. And I thought to myself, oh, my goodness, here we go. And so they get on the phone.
And they call back to their manager and say, there's someone who's really upset here out front and they say they want to talk to you. Okay, okay. So they hang up the phone. And so I'm sitting here sweating, thinking, oh, my God, what is he going to do? And so long story short, the manager comes out and he's approaching both of us very, very carefully with eyes wide open and walks up to us and says, you know, what seems to be the problem, fellas?
And, you know, and Dave, who has this demeanor, I want to say, is saying, you know, that he looks like he's a little upset or a little perturbed. He's got this very serious look on his face. And he takes two steps towards him. And then all of a sudden his face completely changes. And he says, well, actually, I'm expanding the local business here in the local market.
I was wondering if you kept your options open, wondering if you were looking to make extra money on, you know, outside of what you're currently doing. And, you know, the manager kind of looked at him and, you know, with this weird sigh of relief, and also the weirdest look on his face, like he looked at him like he was an alien at the same time. And finally found the words in such shock to say, you know, thank you, but no thank you. And, you know, I could tell you five more stories just like that where, you know, the thing that a lot of people were not willing to do to find out the way not to do it, Dave Wood did. And the times where personally for me, I probably never would have had the courage to do something like that, Dave was out there doing that every day.
And because of this, he's learned things that most people have not learned. And that's allowed him to be able to build a company that inspires so many people all around the world. And in a couple weeks, in about a week and a half, we've got an event in Denver where he's going to be at with the rest of the world. And he's going to be a part of the leadership and empower network. And it's going to be an amazing time.
And it's been a long, crazy, fun roller coaster ride. I would never change for the world. And with that, I'm not going to steal any more of his thunder. Dave, are you there, buddy? Yeah, I'm here, man.
I'm here. Good hearing from you, you know. So I'm going to, I'll take it over from here. You know, everybody listening to this call, first of all, I just want to tell you I appreciate you. You know, starting in power.
That work has been not only the most fascinating experience that I've ever had, but it's been a realization of a dream that I've had for a long time. And that's really what I want to talk to you guys about tonight is the power of dream, the power of wanting something. And before I get on with it here, Chris, I just want to thank you, brother. You know, I've known you since we've been 12 years old. I can always count on you for a last-minute request to introduce me on a Monday night call.
You know, you're just doing great things. You know, it's the best part about this for me. It's knowing where you were, knowing what you've been through, knowing things not a lot of people know about you, and seeing where you are today. And it really is the change that I want to see in the world. I want to see, and I love that team motto, by the way, be the change that you want to see in the world, because that's what it's all about.
It's about being who you want to be. It's about stepping into a future that you want to have. It's about stepping into a dream that you want to desire. And I see you doing that every day, and I meet new people on your team all the time that are having success and creating breakthroughs. Yeah.
You have, like, one of the highest upgrade ratios in Empower Network, and you also simultaneously, interestingly enough, have one of the lowest refund rates. And so you're doing great things, man, and I'm just super proud of you, and couldn't be more proud to be friends with a guy so cool. So thanks for introducing me. Yeah, well, the feeling is mutual, brother. The feeling is mutual, and thank you for that.
And, you know, I attribute a lot of it to just, you know, finally kind of laying down that ego and willing to listen, even if you were, you know, a close friend, but not too close to just say, you know what, show me how this thing's done. And, you know, so I'm so thankful that, you know, you've had the courage to put this thing together like this, and I'm glad, honored to be here and glad to be on this call, and I appreciate the chance. Well, cool, cool, brother. Well, guys, let's go over some cool stuff tonight. A couple things here just before we start.
Number one, this call is, you know, a lot of it's for affiliates of Empower Network. We have customers, too. I'm going to be talking about affiliates, which is going to be going to revolve around making money a little bit. Anytime we talk about making money. Talking to affiliates particularly, we want to make sure to disclose incomes and averages.
And so if you guys actually go to EmpowerNetwork.com, there's an income disclosure. This is the footer of every single page on the site. We actually update that live every 24 hours because we want you guys to know the facts, what the best people are doing, and also what the average people do. And we have that on the site. It's live, and you can go check it out and click on it.
It changes every day because averages change all the time depending on what's going on. And so you guys can go. Check that out. Anytime I refer to income, realize I'm not making a promise that you're going to make money. I'm not making any kind of a guarantee.
I'm just giving examples and stories of things that I've seen that, you know, sometimes, honestly, they defy explanation. That might not be perfectly accurate, but it's close enough. You know, it defied explanation for me when I saw Lawrence Tam come in and have, you know, he went from never making. You know, never, never, never making six figures in a year ever on the Internet in four years to his first month in Empower Network. You know, it defied explanation a lot of the things in the scene, a lot of the things that I've been able to do.
You know, when I started this company, I did not dream at the start of this company that in 18 months we'd have near 150,000 people. I did not dream when I started the company that we'd be doing an event in a year and a half, with 6,000 people that fast. And I didn't dream of a lot of the things that I saw and that I've seen and that I'm seeing now. And the biggest thing that I didn't realize when I started this company that expanded my dream, the second I realized it was you and what you can do. See, when I started this company, guys, I want you to keep this in mind.
I started it for the people. I didn't. I started to get rich, although getting rich has been a nice side effect of it. Getting richer has been a side effect anyways. I was already making a lot of money before.
I didn't start this money or this company. I didn't start this to own something cool. I didn't start it so I could be the face of it. I started it for the people. I started this company because I had a dream of helping the people, and it's still my dream.
You know, interestingly enough, I got involved in direct sales and network marketing to help people. I know that can be a little bit of a stretch and a little bit beyond people's imagination, but I actually fell in love with the dream of helping other people to help yourself. I thought that it was an empowering way to live to where you could step into the future that you've always wanted by first reaching down and lifting other people up. I thought that it was a great way to look at the world, that if I could help you be more successful, I'd become more successful myself. That's the dream that I fell in love with.
That's the dream that I saw when I first got in the industry back in 2002. That's the dream that I first saw when I first saw the industry when I was 14 years old. You know, I haven't shared this story in a long time, so I'm going to go ahead and share it now. A lot of people say, Dave, how do you really get exposed to network marketing?
This is the true story. I was about 14 years old, however old we are in eighth grade, actually. I don't actually know. It could have been 13 years old, and I was failing eight classes out of eight classes in school. I spent all my free time going to karate classes, and at school, I was just a ruckus.
I mean, I wasn't paying attention. I wasn't taking notes, and I wasn't doing my homework, but I was really smart, and I read books all the time. I actually, at that point in my life, I had gotten into personal development. I had already gone to my first Tony Robbins course. I may have already read Think and Grow Rich, and when the school counselor said, Dave, what do you want to do for a living when you get older?
I said, I want to be a millionaire. He burst into laughter, and I said, why? Should I do what you do? You know, so I was always a little bit of a rebel, and I was always a little bit of an entrepreneur. I started my first attempt at a business when I was 13 or 14 years old, and I just kept trying stuff, and to be honest, most of it failed for most of my life.
You know, but I was failing all my classes in school, and my dad was a superior court, or he was like a judge or something. He had just gotten into, I think, a district court judge, and later was a superior court judge up in Alaska, and we were driving in the car, and he was a graduate from Stanford and Cornell. My grandpa had been a university president, and he looked at me, and I had a little beanie on because it was cold outside, and he said, Dave, you've got to be the dumbest kid in the family, and of course he was joking. My dad was a good dad, and he was just kind of smiling at me, prying at me a little bit, trying to figure out why I was failing school, and I said, what are you talking about? I'm not stupid.
I read books. I think thoughts all the time. You know, I've got great plans for the things that I want to do, and he says, then why are you failing school? And I said, what does school have to do with anything?
And he says, well, if you don't go to school, you can't get a good job because you're not going to have an education that's going to allow you to succeed in the corporate world. And I said, you mean a job like you have. And I said, I'm sorry, Dad. I love you, and I respect you. I love what you do, and I love that you love it, but I don't want to sit there on a chair all day and be bored out of my mind all day long, you know, to struggle.
I don't want to struggle through life financially. It's just not my dream. It's not what I want to do. And I said, so here's the deal. If I have to go to school and be good at school, which I also think is boring to be successful in life, then, you know, we're going to be out of luck here.
So in any case, I said, you know, what can I do to succeed if I don't finish school, right? And my dad laughed, and he said, I got something for you, and I swear to God, he took me to an Amway meeting. And I was like 13 years old. I was still in, you know, junior high, and he dragged me along, and I thought it was the dumbest thing ever.
At the time, we had shelves in the house that had toothpaste on them, and they had soap on them. And every Wednesday, my dad would have three or four of his friends from, you know, who were lawyers who had a secret desire to be rich, you know, doing network marketing. You know, he'd have them pop by the house on Wednesday night and pick up products in the house, and I just thought it was the dumbest thing ever. I thought the toothpaste was the most awful toothpaste I'd ever used in my life, and he made us use it. And I was dreading going to this meeting.
It was in the Salvation Army, and I showed up, and there was like 30 people. My dad made me wear a suit. I hated suits then, too. And I walked in, and I was just ready to be bored for about three hours. He made me go because I was failing school.
I walked in. This guy walked in, and he's not really famous in network marketing, but he's done well for a long time. His name's Ron DeBrow. And Ron walked in, and, you know, he quickly discovered that there was no guests in the room except for a 13-year-old and a homeless man that somebody had begged to come to the meeting. He said that somebody walked up to him and said, hey, I'll buy you lunch, or I'll buy you dinner, if you attend this meeting with me.
And the homeless guy agreed for the sake of the food. And so we were the only two guests. And, you know, he just kind of figured out that it didn't really matter what he said because there was nobody in the room that could actually get in. And so he started telling jokes and stories. And I kind of started to warm up to his jokes and stories.
But the greatest thing about this particular meeting was this homeless guy kept interrupting the meeting. He kept saying things like, is this a pyramid scam? Isn't this illegal? Do you guys sell soap door-to-door? I mean, all the most legal, ludicrous responses you could ever imagine to an opportunity meeting.
And that's exactly what this guy was saying. And, of course, there's no guests in the room. And this guy's just goofing off. He'd flown all the way up from Portland or Seattle or something just to go there and show the plan to a bunch of people that were already in. And I was just laughing at this guy and this other guy's responses, this homeless guy arguing with the guy doing a meeting.
But something stuck out in my mind, and here's what it was. At the end of the meeting, the guy's breaking down numbers, and he's showing you how much money you could get by doing network marketing, you know, five, get five, get five, get five, and there's eight zillion people down there. This homeless guy interrupts, and he says, excuse me, how much money are you making? Now, you've got to forgive me for this, because I was 13, and my dad had people come over to our house every Wednesday and pick up soap and vitamins and toothpaste. Well, this guy, you know, he kind of turned around, and he said, well, you know, it's a good question.
It's not really fair to the whole business, because I've just been in for a couple of years. And he says, but, you know, and I was expecting him to say zero, right, just waiting for it, kind of leaning in and laughing. And he says, well, it's a little bit different, because I ain't been trying that hard. I just do this part-time, and I'm still a full-time real estate guy. Barely really enough in Alaska, you know, to feed us and stuff like that, because he had this plan of like going through and progressing through the judicial system, which takes a long time, and you don't really make tons of money at first.
And I said, $210,000. And that's actually my first exposure to network marketing. It's when I was like 13 years old, I just thought it was a great way to make money. I said, here are all these other suckers who are going to school and getting jobs and fighting through life, and I said, I can just kind of stand in hotel meetings. I wasn't exposed to the Internet.
This is the first time I saw the industry. But ever since that day, I've thought different things about the world, and I've thought different things were possible. If I can see a guy who's really not that funny standing in front of a room that's really not a big room talking to people that aren't guests about an opportunity that nobody invited guests to, and he can still be making it, and he's not really that smart of a guy, I can look at that, and I can say, there's something magical here about this industry. That was my exposure to the industry. And so I got started for the first time, actually, when I was 21, and failed for three years.
I thought it was going to be all cutthroat, you know, I figured if this dumb guy can do it, I can do it, not realizing he actually learned some things and had to learn some skills. Fell flat on my face. You know, I hear people complain all the time when they get into stuff. I hear people complain sometimes when they get into Empower Network. I hear people whine and complain sometimes because the truth is people who are working usually are creating some kind of a result.
But I hear people whine and complain, and, you know, they've been like, I've been in for six months, and I've only brought in 50 people. Well, my first six months, folks, and I want you to keep this in mind, I was 21 years old, didn't have a lot of credit, had no clue what I was doing. It took me six months to sponsor my first person in the industry of direct sales and network marketing. At the end of three and a half years, my check may have been a total of about 100 bucks a month, and I had a total of maybe 15 or 20 people in my group. Now, a lot of people would look at that, and a lot of people did look at that at the time.
They said, God, you're stupid, right? But I just kept kind of trucking on. I quit that company, joined another deal, not because the company was bad, but because I blamed it for my lack of success because I wasn't willing to admit to myself that at the time I was worth about 100 bucks a month, and I went and I jumped to a new deal, failed at that deal just the same, jumped to a new deal, failed at that deal just the same. By the time I got to my fourth deal, I jumped in a deal that was in pre-launch, and I said, certainly I can make money if I get in at the top, right? A lot of people actually, they look at things in life, and they think if you're rich, you're lucky.
And the truth is, people that I know that are rich, I'm not talking about some weenie kind of money that somebody's earning. I'm talking about somebody who has an abnormal income in life. People look at them and they say, oh, he got lucky because they're not willing to do the work that he or she did. That's the truth, guys, right? People who have abnormal incomes usually go through a period where they need to work abnormally hard.
That's the way that life is, right? You can, can you get to a spot where you can kind of be sinking your toes in the mud? You can be in the hot sand and you could be making more money every day than other people make in a month. Absolutely, you can get there, usually after the period of abnormally hard work. So people will look at that and people will say that you're lucky, but they don't know what people said before, which was, man, look at that idiot, is what they said when they weren't making any money.
Look at that moron, is what they said when they were struggling, right? Because I've been there, folks. I've been the person whose relatives say, Dave, why don't you go back to school? I've been the person whose friends stop picking up the phone because you're in new stuff all the time, and even though you don't pitch them, they're afraid that you will because they know you're in that thing. I've been the person, guys, who people look at and they say, God, I'd rather do anything for a living but that, and now I'm the guy who everyone thinks is lucky.
Funny thing, I was talking to one of my buddies, his name's Scott, about a month and a half ago, and I picked up the phone and I was having a conversation with him, and, you know, I told him how much money I was making, and he couldn't believe it, and he was like, Dave, you're kidding me, and I said, no, I'm actually not kidding. And he said, tell me the truth. And I said, sure, what do you want to know? And he said, you got in at the top, didn't you? Well, I actually did get in the top, folks, back in 2006.
Got involved, it was like my fourth deal. I'd failed at three deals straight, and I'd really worked at them, and I'd failed, failed, failed, failed, failed. Got in this fourth thing, and I said, I got in at the top. I certainly can make this one work. And in the process of being at the top, I had made absolutely no money for about six months.
I tried to start a weekly meeting, nobody came to the meeting. I tried to talk to everybody I know, nobody wanted to hear about it. I tried to convince people to get in it, nobody got in it. And after about six months, the company had gone from about zero to about 100,000 people. And I looked at that, and I said, what in the heck am I doing wrong?
Because I had seen the people around me who started when I started succeeding when I wasn't succeeding. I had seen the people around me who got in when the company was at ground floor, and they weren't at ground floor anymore. They were at the top floor now because they had done things in the right way. I had seen the people around me who had gotten started at the same time I got started, made the same decision I made, but created an extremely different result. I had seen the people around me who had gone from zero like I started, except for I was still at zero, and they had 60,000 people in their team.
And when I looked at that, and I saw the success around me, even though we got in at the same time, I finally was able to stand up, look at myself in the mirror, look at Dave Wood in the eye, and say, Dave, there's something we need to fix here, because the problem, I'll make the company, it's you. And that's sometimes the place where you need to be. Sometimes people ask themselves, why aren't I creating the results that I want? And the truth is, you've got to look in the mirror. Sometimes people need to stand up, and they need to make a new decision to look at themselves and actually look at their behavior.
I was talking to a guy here just a couple of days ago who's been in for a long time, and I talked to him about a year and a half ago, and I said, hey, you know what, man? Can you tell me the truth? Why aren't you calling back people who respond back to you who are your leads? Because you're kind of at a space in your business where you're new, and you don't have a lot of money, and you don't really have the resources to do the kind of things that I can do. Sure, I'm at a space where I don't make phone calls.
Sure, I'm at a space where I don't return my phone. Actually, I'm at a space where I don't really respond to email, and I don't hover all day over Facebook wondering what people think anymore. I don't go online and monitor the negative. I don't really do any SEO anymore because I hire people to do these things that I used to do when I started in my business. Yes, I'm in that space, but I also have an income that surpasses almost everybody in North America.
And so when you look at that, of course I can do these things, but you're not there yet. You're at a space where you kind of need to do just whatever it takes so you can get in that zone where you can take off in your business and your life. Why aren't you doing that? He says, well, because, you know, I want to do it without these things, right? Because sometimes it might sound like we have a mixed message.
Sometimes we get up there and we say, hey, you know, the truth is you don't want to pick up the phone. You want to put down the phone. You want to pick up the paycheck. The truth is you want to get to a space where you can build a business and you can have a life at the same time. And that's the truth, folks, and you do.
But in the reality, don't ignore the phase that you need to go through. Because if you're not willing to do whatever it takes when you start your business, and I don't care what that is. Look, when you look in your mirror and you say, I'm going to do whatever it takes, that doesn't exclude anything. In fact, the only things I think that you should exclude are things that are dishonest or illegal or something. Other than that, I think you should be willing to stand up, look in the mirror, look yourself in the eye, and say, this is my goal.
I'm going to do whatever it takes. Because when you say, I'm going to do whatever it takes to succeed, when you say, I'm going to do whatever it takes to make it happen, when I say, I'm going to do whatever it takes to go out there into the world and to be the change that I want to see in the world, and later, yes, I'm going to sink my toes into the hot sand. In a short time, I'll do that. But for now, I'm willing to do whatever it takes to gather the financial resources to be able to do those things because I may not be in that space right now, but I'm going to be there in a month or two. See?
That's when your unconscious mind will start showing you new ways of doing things because when you're willing to do whatever it takes and you're willing to try any strategy and you're willing to adjust yourself until you're getting the results that you want to get, when you're willing to do whatever it is that you need to do, not pulling any punches, here's the beautiful thing, is you will start to have teachers appear in your life, resources appear in your life, information appear in your life, strategies appear in your life that will show you how to get the job done, because your unconscious will make the observation, you know, he's willing to actually do what I guide him and tell him to do. And that's exactly what happened to me. So this company, you know, I finally was willing to admit that and I finally submit myself to a teacher who had the results that I wanted to get. When I submit myself to that teacher and I was willing to do whatever they told me to do, whatever it was, I didn't make a lot of money in that company, but I had my first success ever. Now, got a little burned out, because I was sick of doing hotel meetings, three-way calls, home meetings, and things like this for not really making a lot of money.
And, you know, I'd gotten married and, you know, was just getting started with that and got distracted with, you know, doing the meetings and doing the three-way calls because truthfully I was burned out. My business kind of went down for nothing. I'd never really reached the dream, never really built a large organization, and I kind of was just in a space where I wanted to say, you know, I'm going to stop this for a little while and go just live in a van and do something crazy. So I went down with Ashley to Hawaii and we lived in a van. And we lived in a van for like nine months and I worked at Greenpeace and hit people up on street corners and didn't really do network marketing for maybe nine months.
It was the biggest break that I'd ever had in my adult life. And after nine months, got fired from my job at Greenpeace. And I remember being in the van, thinking to myself, what am I really going to do? And I made a decision to try something new. I made a decision that I was going to live the lifestyle that I'd always wanted to live.
I made a decision that I was going to do whatever it takes. I made a decision that I was going to do things in a new way. I made a decision that this time I'm going to run, only now I'm not just going to get to the finish line when I pass the finish line that other people are going to think is the finish line. I'm just going to start running faster. Because guys, you know, the reality is that there are reaching destinations and then there's just continuing to grow.
And in life, the greatest magic is in the growth that you experience in life. The greatest magic in life is not in reaching a destination. There's a famous saying like that somewhere and I can't even quote it, but it's just like that. Guys, the journey is the magic. It's not the destination.
It's the journey. It's the process of walking. It's the process of learning to walk that gives babies the greatest smile. It's when you learn to write for the first time that you get the greatest joy out of writing. It's when you get your first sale when you get on the internet that you get the most excited that you've ever gotten in your life.
I remember getting my first sale and I was so pumped up. I wasn't getting paid 100% commissions. I didn't have funnels that automatically upsold for me. I didn't have products that were good like our products, but I made my first sale just doing my best and doing everything that I could do. It took me two weeks.
I'm going to be rich. Now, most people wouldn't think after a long time of failing, after a long time of trying different things, after a long time of being in different business opportunities, maybe just like you. And by the way, I've ran into people that have even been doing it for longer, folks, and they've been jumping from deal to deal, only some of them maybe haven't taken the responsibility because they haven't made the decisions I've made. But I looked at myself in the mirror and I said, I've got it this time. 45 days later, I was sponsoring two people a day.
And then I started traveling all over the world and I've been to Bora and I've been to the Caribbean and I've seen oceans so crystal blue that you can't even imagine the depth of the blue when you're looking at the sun shining on the ocean in the evening time. I've seen the moon, the full moon, rise over the ocean in Bora with my feet hanging over a bungalow looking at the shimmer of the moonlight shimmering on the ocean in the middle of the night seeing stars. Guys, I've seen stars and skies that are so clear that I never would have even imagined that stars could be so clear because where I grew up in the winter time when the sky was really black there was just like smoke in the air and stuff. Guys, I have seen things around the world. I've seen miracles around the world that I can't even describe over the last few years.
And the beauty is I ain't seen it all and it's just getting started. Guys, I've seen people that nobody would have ever thought they could succeed do things that are beyond miraculous. I've seen the Justin Varangias of the world, the hippies with long hair stare at themselves in the mirror and say today's a new day as they stand up out of a situation almost drowning in life and say I'm not going to drown in my business anymore. I'm not going to fail in life anymore. I'm not taking no anymore because I'm going to step into a new and beautiful future.
I've seen the things Tony Rush's of the world. People burnt out on trying things and people burnt out on the grind. People burnt out on always having to struggle to get a sale and then all of a sudden they say I'm stepping into a new future now and I'm going to learn something differently. I'm going to create an existence that's magical. Guys, I don't know who you are.
Here's the thing. We've got people on this call who are dialing in from all over the world. I know because I can look at the phone numbers and some of the phone numbers are odd and they're not more familiar with you. I can dial in from Costa Rica. Chris can dial in from Colorado.
We can have a thousand people dialing in from Miami. We can have people dial in into these calls from China. There's people right now that are listening to this call on Skype. A lot of people are listening to this on a live Google Hangout because some people have figured out how to stream these calls through Google Hangouts and they do that for you and then other people in different countries watch or listen to this call and they watch it around the world and wherever you are in the world listening into this call realize there are thousands of people just like you. There are people around the world making videos and making decisions about their life.
There are people in the world making new decisions about their future. There's somebody on this call that just made a decision to take responsibility for the results that they're either getting or not. There's somebody on this call tonight who just made a decision to be with us in Denver and there's somebody on the call tonight who just decided as I was speaking you know what I'm sick of defining how I am and not going to do things. I'm just going to do whatever it takes. You know here's a big problem that we've got especially in North America.
Other countries actually don't have this problem so much folks and they don't have this problem because they don't have what we have in the United States of America and excuse me for a second while I talk to the United States if you live in a different country. In the United States you go to a job and you get paid and you finish at a certain time and you finish and you go home and you expect to create a certain result and it kind of lauds the job. You know the difference is folks when you have a business the difference is you don't have the luxury of a time based income creation. You don't go to go create that income no matter the time involved. You've got to create that income no matter the energy involved.
You've got to create that income no matter the focus involved. You've got to create that income no matter what you need to learn. You need to create that income and create that result and create those sales no matter what's going on in the economy because you don't have the luxury of an hourly wage but by not having the luxury of the hourly wage the thing that the hourly wage people miss in life is the opportunity to make money that's not based on the hour because you can go out there in the world and if you have 10 people in your team all working 10 hours a week then you have 100 hours a week that can be going into your income while you're doing whatever you want to do but you've got to realize that there is no prerequisite energy. There is no prerequisite in the amount of hours you need to put in. There is no prerequisite to the amount of things that you should learn and the amount of focus that you need to exert into your life if you're an entrepreneur.
You need to stand up and you need to plant your flag no matter if you need to invent a microchip to go to the moon because you my friend are a visionary and visionaries do not conform to the world; visionaries shape and they create the world through the power of their vision and their words and that's what you can do. So stepping into the future guys you've got to realize something. Sometimes to get the results that you want to get in your life you've got to learn new things. Sometimes you've got to let go and create space in your life. Sometimes you need to let go of old beliefs.
Sometimes you need to let go of old ways of doing things. Sometimes you need to let go of toxic energy. Sometimes you need to let go of what you've gotten used to. Sometimes you need to create some space in your life, in your heart and your life, in order to make room for the kind of love that you want, the kind of passion that you want, in order to fill it with the vision that you want, you've got to let go of the past. Some of you are holding on to things in the call.
Hey Dave, just letting you know, bro, you're kind of in a wind tunnel there. You're a little muffled, so whatever you did there... A little muffled, is it better now? You're good now, dude, yeah. Okay.
Hold on a second, actually. Let me try this. I'm ranting and raving. I'm going to put on my headset here. Yeah, we pretty much heard you for the most part, but we had to strain a little bit.
Is it a little bit better? I didn't want to stop. Way better, yeah. I just didn't want to stop you there. You were on a roll.
Oh, dude, it doesn't matter, man. The great thing about going into a trance is when you come out of a trance and go back in, the second one is even deeper. There's actually a bunch of research done in that. That's called trans-fractionation. If you wake up in the morning, your alarm...
This has happened to you, Chris, where you wake up in the morning because you have to wake up for an alarm because you had to go to the job or whatever, and then you say, I'm just going to sleep for five more minutes. You hit the snooze button, and then you go back to sleep, and then you wake up barely the second time. It's actually harder to get up, and then you say, I'm going to sleep for five more minutes. You hit the snooze button. By the third or fourth time that you hit the snooze button, what happens is that it's almost impossible to wake up the next time the alarm clock rings.
That's not because it's ringing any less loud. It's because of what's called state-fractionation. A positive use of that, as opposed to not being able to wake up in the morning or whatever it is, a positive use of state-fractionation is, for example, if you allow yourself to become excited, and then you step out of the excitement and you clear your mind, then the next time you step into excitement, you're going to be a little bit more excited. If you allow yourself to step into passion, and then you step out of the passion for a second, the next time that you step into the passion, you're going to be a little bit more passionate. If you allow yourself to go out there and get some results, you allow yourself to take a break from the results and you step back into it, the next time you can create even more powerful results by allowing the state to change.
Something called trans-fractionation is a really cool phenomenon. I get distracted. I'm really excited now, because now you're going to hit the second wave here, and you're going to be even better. It is going to be better. I want you guys to listen to something, okay?
There's a bunch of stuff going on right now, and I want you guys to make a decision that you're going to do it no matter what. No matter where you are in the world, I don't want to hear your excuses. I want to hear the reasons why you can do it and what you want to do. I want to hear about your vision. And guys, I'm going to tell you something.
Anybody on this call who's got a dream can walk into that dream. And I know because I have consistently walked into mine. I know because I've seen people who all odds were to fight against them. And they stepped into a vision, and you can do it. But there's some steps to being able to do it.
And one of those steps is just deciding to have a vision. Deciding to actually create one. Deciding to do the things that nobody does. You know, there's always studies quoted on the amount of people that set goals. And the funny thing is, those studies that are quoted, you know, are generally made up.
There's a Stanford study people quote that never happened. It's like a super common study in network marketing. And it actually never even happened. It not only is a twisted version of a study, but it never occurred at all. There's all sorts of misquotes.
But in observation, if you go out into the world, and you just ask people, you know, how many of you have written down a clear, concise vision of the future? You just ask 100 people. There's going to be two or three of them that have done it. Now, out of the 100, there might be 10 who have said they've done it. But then if you ask them for a copy of it, they won't be able to find it because they actually never did it, and they're lying.
So at events, it's really common where people, you know, will say, go out there and make a clear vision for the event, make a clear outcome for why you're here, and everybody will swear they'll do it. They'll yell and scream. They'll promise they'll do it. And out of the people in the room, there'll be two or three who have done it. Now, an interesting thing happened at our team event.
You remember the team event, Chris? I showed up late because there was a storm happening in Miami, and then I was there at like 11 o'clock at night, and I spoke for a half an hour. It was like my shortest speech ever, and I got in, and I had a 30-page workbook, right? And I said, here's the thing, guys. Now, you have to get clear because unless you fill in this 30-page workbook by the morning, we're not going to let you back into the seminar, right?
And I told people that, and I was dead serious. If they did not fill that thing out, I was not going to let them back in, right? The only way that I've ever found to successfully get 100% of the room to get clear on their vision. So people stood up all night awake, filling that thing out, and everybody got clear. Here's the interesting thing, though.
You remember in the room, Chris, when I said, who in here has spent this much energy before getting this clear on their dream before? You remember how many people raised their hands? About two. And do you remember how much they were making? They were all over $20,000.
There was two in the room that had done it before. There was only two who had done it. Guys, there's a power in getting clear that we talk about all the time. And I want you guys to realize on here that you guys need to have a vision for everything, and when there is no vision, the people perish. That's what the good book says, right?
And guys, if you don't have a vision and you're not clear, you will perish in your life. What does it mean to perish? What it means to perish is not moving on. What it means to perish is it means that you're not stepping into the future that you want. What it means is that you're going to be tossed around by other people's beliefs and opinions.
What it means is you're not going to walk into your vision in your future. You have got to decide that you are going to be clear in every area of your life that you want to get results. It's like the dentist who says, you don't have to floss all your teeth, but just the ones you want to keep. Guys, if you want a vision to happen, you've got to have one. And I know from speaking on this call, right now we've got something like 3,000 or 4,000 active callers on here.
And guys, I know from experience that if we've got 3,000 or 4,000 active callers on here, the amount of people that actually have a clear vision is somewhere between 600 and 800, and that's it. The rest of the people on here, they haven't done it. They're never going to do it. And I could poke and I could pry and I could tell you to do it, and they're still not going to do it. They don't have dream boards.
They don't have clarity in their life, and they haven't set goals and they haven't made clear outcomes even though they've been repeatedly told it's one of the first steps to succeed. They keep putting it off and putting it off and putting it off, and because they're focused on nothing, they reach it too. And I want you guys to realize that you need to get clear in your life. I want you guys to get clear about what we're going to accomplish in Denver coming up here in two or three weeks. When is it, Chris?
It's like 14 days to the Denver event? Yes, it is 11 days. 11 days. So the Denver event is 11 days away, guys. I want you to realize that.
We're going to have right around 6,000 people showing up in Denver, Colorado. It'll be our biggest event ever. It's also the most expensive event ever for multiple reasons. We're releasing some new things there, and we're doing things that not only have we never done, nobody's ever done. And I want you guys to realize that there is no hype when I speak about the way that we put on events.
Our events actually cost somewhere between $800,000. This event, I believe, is going to cost us by itself, without the stuff we're releasing there, somewhere around $800,000. We put that money into the event, and we put that energy into the event and the planning into the event in order to make it a magical experience. Because our events are not about hawking and pitching. They're the most unique events in the world.
In fact, I've had some people and some marketers come to our events, and they say, Dave, you've got this room of hungry buyers. And there was a guy who came to our event, and he snuck in. He wasn't supposed to be there. And he came to our event, and he said, imagine if I could stand in front of this group and just pitch them something. What a crowd of hungry buyers.
That's the attitude most people have when they put on an event. Their goal is, how can I suck as much money from the room as possible? We have a different philosophy. My philosophy at events is simply this. I want to ask a different question.
I want to ask the question, how can I take these people in the room that has invested their heart and their soul to be here, and take this room and to lift this room up as high as I possibly can, to create as many new beliefs as I can, to create as many new transformations as I can. How can I get this room to take responsibility, to believe in themselves, and to know what to do next? And because of that, we create an entirely different outcome in our events. We have people coming to our events who create breakthroughs in life. This one is going to be special, magical, and different.
And I want you guys who are going to prepare, and if you're not planning on going, you're going to be able to get tickets only for a few more days. I believe we're shutting off ticket sales on Sunday night, and we can actually only sell, we've sold more tickets than the total capacity, but we know the fall-off ratio, and so we can sell, I believe it's 200 more tickets total, and then we actually have to cut it off, because with the fall-off ratio that we have statistically from our previous events, we literally can't seat any more people in the room. Alright, so I want you guys to realize that this is a special time, it's a special opportunity, it's an opportunity to make new connections, to meet new people, to see new things, to experience new kinds of beliefs, and to have new reference experiences in your life for things that you want to do in the future. People have breakthroughs at events that will last a lifetime, especially this one that's coming up in Denver, Colorado, where we get to be in the mountains and breathe the nice, fresh, thin air that exists up there, and see my good friend Chris who lives up there in the mountains and goes snowboarding all the time because he's free. Guys, get to Denver, and I want you to come with something.
It's not a lot of money, and it's not your credit card, I want you to come there with an expectation that you're going to have a transformation. Let me repeat that. I want you to come with an expectation that you're going to have a transformation. What kind of transformation? Something specific.
And I don't know what that is for you because I'm not you, and I don't want to give you something. Alright? But let me give you some suggestions of some things that you can do as a specific, clear expectation coming to that event. When you come there, come into that room with a clear expectation to create a certain specific result internally and externally that is easy to define and easy to explain, and if you come there with a clear expectation of the transformation that you're going to have, you will have that specific transformation, whatever it is. And I don't care how crazy it is, I don't care how much of a stretch it is, all I care is that whatever it is, you're clear on it.
Okay? Let me give you some examples of some things that will help you in your business. If you're struggling, for example, a lot of people, they just don't really believe that this kind of thing will work. It's just a common state for people to get in. I can't even imagine what it would be like to live on that anymore.
There's other people that are on a salary, and they know when they show up at work and they work whatever hours are required of them that they're going to be paid that specific salary. But there are people who come into an industry like this where everything is entirely based off of what you produce, off of what you do, off of the results you create, and they don't really believe that if they put in the work that they're going to create that financial result. And because of that lack of the belief, they just don't do what's required. Their mind distracts them. They sit down at their computer, and rather than doing a blog post, they just click on things all day.
They go to work, and then all of a sudden they're drinking a glass of orange juice because their mind's distracting them because they don't really believe in what they're doing. Events are specifically there. They're specifically wired. They're specifically created in such a way to install new beliefs in yourself, to install new beliefs on what's possible. Let me give you an example.
There's a guy that came out and hung out with us in Miami. I was over in Miami with Vic the other day. He had this really cool guy who'd flown all the way over from Europe to meet Vic, and Vic called me up, and he's the number one earner in power, and if he calls me up and asks me to do something, if I can and I have time, I'll generally do it. He said, hey, Dave, you want to come hang out in Miami? It's a three-hour flight away, so I wanted to hang out with these guys.
While I was there, I figured, hey, why not email the database and just see if anybody wants to come hang out in Miami? We emailed people four hours in advance. With four hours notice, we had like 80 or 90 people show up in a room, and there's a guy that I met in the room who came to one of our events, and he didn't really register with the bigger numbers. Sometimes people don't really register with that because it's so outside their normal experience, and he didn't register with that, and because of that, he was a little disconnected. Then he came to an event, and he saw us passing out checks, and they were completely unrelatable.
He saw us give Vic a check, and by the way, guys, when we give out checks, it's not imagined earnings for the future. When we give out checks, it's amounts people have already made. So we're showing you what people have already done in Empower Network, and we have extraordinary and not as extraordinary. And you know what it took for him to really believe it? He saw that, and that was about what his income was at his job.
He said, I saw that, and I knew this was real because people were earning just as much as me, except for their work on the Internet. See, everything is going to create a little bit of a different belief in people, and everything is going to create a little bit of a different result, and everything we do is to reach a different set of people. Because he started believing it, he started doing it, and now he started to create the results that he wants. And I talked to him, and from that conversation, I saw another shift in his eye, because he knows he can do what I can do, because he knows he can be who I am, because he knows he can do the things that are required of him in order to step into a new future with new decisions, with new results, and with new outcomes. And everything for everybody that they experience is going to be different.
You need to have a specific clear outcome, a specific clear outcome for what you're going to gain when you come and you hang out with us in Denver. And I want you to be as specific and clear as you can, and as long as you do that, you can create a breakthrough. For example, Chris Rushlow is on the phone. He's not there yet, right? However, he's approaching that.
And I know that if he comes to that event, and he says, I'm going to set a specific, clear intention that I'm going to have the inner change that I want to see in the world, and I'm going to have that change by specifically having a transformation that's required in order to hit this income within this day, and I know if he's ultra clear on that, he'll have that shift and he'll hit it, right? Why? Because when you're looking for something, you tend to find it. When you're looking to validate a belief that you have, you tend to validate it, right? When you're looking to create something in your life, you tend to create it.
When you're looking for a certain type of result in your relationships, you tend to create them. When you're looking for a specific outcome in your financial results, over a period of time, you'll tend to create it. When you're looking for negative results of what you don't want, you create that too. So come there with crystal clarity on what you're there to learn, on what you're there to gain, on the experiences that you want to have, and write it down, and be so clear you could wake up in the middle of the morning and I could say, what's your outcome for this weekend? And you'll say, because of this, right?
Get clear on why you're coming to Denver. Second thing is, we have got a few days left where tickets are going to be on sale. By the rate of ticket sales, we'll probably have ticket sales up for three more days or something, then we're going to take it down. Get as many people as you can to register for the Denver event and your team. There's a guy that I met in Miami.
I actually didn't meet him here. I've known this guy for about three years. Ran into him first at a Vegas event. I ran into him in Vegas. We were driving around in a taxi cab.
Got to know him out there. His name's Jay, the bulldog marketer, right? And I've known him for years, and he's trusted me for years, because he keeps seeing me get results. And every time he listens to anything I say, and he goes and he does it, he gets better results. And he decided to get rid of his plane ticket that he had going out to Denver, and rather than spending money on a plane ticket, he decided to rent a bus.
And he's going to drive in a bus full of people in his team, and his goal was, I'm going to rent a bus, and I'm going to fill the bus with people, and they're all coming out to the event with him. And when he rented the bus, he didn't have it full, but he saw it in his mind. And now, when I met him, when I was talking to him, he had the bus like eight-tenths full, and he could only fit like five more people on the bus, and he was going to drive all the way from Miami, all the way out to the event, with a bus full of people like 35 hours straight, and they were going to party the whole time, and just goof off and have fun while they listen to audios driving out there. Bring a team with you to the event. Why?
Because people who transform together stay together. It's not just about building a team, guys. It's about growing together as a team. Why are we always talking about reading books, and listening to audios, and going to events? The reason is because when you read, listen, and you associate, you tend to transform, and you tend to become like the people that you're around.
When you start to transform on the inside, you're going to want to be around people that are transforming with you on the inside, and if you're around people that are continuing to grow, and you're continuing to grow, too, there's nothing that creates a bond like that in life. There is nothing. You need to grow with the people that you love. You need to learn to adapt to other people around you if you want to stay around them, guys.
And at the event, we are going to help you grow. At the event you're going to be around people who are going to help you transform and who are going to lift you up. At the event you're going to be around people who you saw just a few months ago, but now they're even better. At the event we're going to release new things that are even superior. That's the first thing.
You want to read, you want to listen, you want to associate, guys, if you're serious about your future. And look, I don't care about excuses people make. I've heard people say things to me over the last year and a half that to me are just crazy. I had a guy, it's been a friend of mine online for years. I've sponsored into a thing before Empower Network started.
He joined, and he joined Empower. And he's been stuck at the same income for a long period of time. And sometimes he's asked me, he said, why isn't my income growing faster? I keep producing the same amount that I've been producing. And normally, people who do that over a period of time, they tend to have the leverage increase in their business from continuing to do the same thing over a long period of time.
And I told him, you need to bring your team to the events, dude. And he says, I don't need that stuff. I don't need that rah-rah stuff. I'm going to focus on being home, and I'm going to focus on just doing what I want in the weekend because I'm in this business to be free. I said, you know what, man?
We have these things every three months. I'm going to tell you something. You ain't never been around people like this. You ain't never been around an event like this. And you're welcome to not come to the event and not make the decision to go with your team.
But if you don't go, you can't expect your people to go. And the only reason they're going to go is if I convince them to go, which I'm pretty good at, right? But if you make an attempt and you make an effort and you just brought your whole team with you, you'd see a dramatically different result. And so he hadn't listened, and his results have been the same since he's been in. Take Tracy Walker as a counterexample.
Tracy Walker's results have in no way stayed the same since she's been in. They continue to increase. Does she have ups and downs? Yeah. Guys, when you're building an income like this, people mistake the highest month or they mistake a peak for the highest month.
And so, you know, I'm going to tell you something. I'm going to speak for the way that it is all the time. The way that income grows, guys, is it goes up really high. It has a spike. It dips down a little bit.
It grows a little bit. It has another spike. When do the spikes happen? They generally happen after the events. And what I've seen happen to Tracy's income over the last year and a half has been so consistent, I could close my eyes and I could remember it just crystal clear, and I could show you by the graph what's going to happen next to her.
Why? Because she keeps producing relatively the same amount except for one fact. She keeps having a bigger team at the event because the people she brought before keep increasing and bringing new people to the next event. This event, I think she'll have 400 or 500 people, something like that, at the event. She's got a huge team registered to go, and her team knows that they need to be there.
Her team knows they need to be reading. Her team knows they're going to be listening to audios every day. Her team knows they need to be associating with powerful people, and so they do. And by doing those things and by making those decisions, her team continues to grow. Without her really having to work harder all the time, because her team wants to be around her, and a team that grows together stays together.
And a team that grows on the inside grows on the outside. And an income that grows first from the person who has it on the inside also grows externally. And whatever you create on the inside tends to be created in the outside world, and it's just the way that it is. In fact, I have this strange belief about the universe, this strange belief about people. I believe that you can't see anything in the world but what you are.
And I believe that you can't see anything in another person except for what you have in yourself. And I see people all the time that they look at other people and they criticize other people to make value judgments about other people. But you know what they don't do is they don't realize that those value judgments and those things that they say about the other people around them are just things that they believe about themselves on the inside.
They don't realize that they're projecting themselves in the outside world. Guys, perception is projection. And I believe something, that if you believe in yourself, you're going to believe in other people. And you know one of the reasons why I'm so excited about this is because I'm so excited about the fact that I believe in people so much. You know why I believe that Tracy Walker is just going to keep getting better and keep growing.
You know why I believe that Tony Rush is just going to keep getting more powerful and by Lawrence Tam can even become a cooler Asian gangster. You know why I believe, folks, that we're just going to keep progressing into the future and doing new and better things because I believe in myself. I believe in what I'm capable of having and doing. I believe that if I could do what I've done in the past, I could do what I've done in the future. I believe that if I could do what I've done in the past, I could do even greater things.
I believe that I can step into such magic. I believe I could step into such results that nobody's even known what I can do. I believe that I can have what I say. I believe that I have what I can believe on the inside first. I believe when I speak things into people and when I speak words of inspiration and admiration over people that people change on the inside.
I believe that when I speak to people and when I open my mouth, the words of my mouth transform people from the inside out. I believe that just by being around me, when people see me, when they shake my hand, when they get around me, when they look in my eyes, that they change a little bit and believe that something even more and even bigger is possible. I believe that just by being around us at the event that you can have a transformation. Why do I believe that? Because I've seen it happen.
And what I know happens is what you expect to happen. And I'm going to encourage you to come with a fire of an expectation in your soul. Breathe in fire from the inside out, filling the world around you that you're going to do something magical at that event because we will provide the tools and the resources that you need, right?
Because here's the next thing. You're going to attract people that like your vision because of what it does for them, right? That's just the truth. It's just the way people are, right? What it does for them.
Even people who are volunteers and they go on causes and things like that, they tend to do it because they feel good and they want something on the inside, even if it's just feeling good about doing something nice for other people. People are going to be attracted to your vision about what you want to do because you're going to do something magical about it. And that's because they fit inside of it, right? And their dream fits inside of it. And their vision for the future fits inside of what you see.
And because your vision is big enough and expansive enough and it includes other people because you're a great thinker, right? People are going to want to be around you if you're like that. And my vision is gigantic, right? Why is my vision big? Because I got around some good dream builders early on in my career and I learned how to dream just a little bit bigger.
Because I learned how to speak words of admiration from people that were really good. Because I've met people that have spoken whole worlds of experience into existence that didn't even exist before they were alive. Because I've seen the world transform in so many ways since I've been alive. I've seen the invention, you know, in my lifetime I've only been alive since 1981. And if we had somebody speaking on the call that was like 40 or 50 years old, they could tell you of the wonders that they've seen in their life.
And we tend not to notice them because they happen so fast. And because it seems like they're happening slow and because it seems normal. But the iPhone that I'm holding in my hand that I'm speaking into as I'm walking back and forth, guys, doing this call, this iPhone is a million times as fast, a million times smaller, and a million times as cheap as computers that only existed 30 or 40 years ago. You project that rate of growth out into the future and by 2099 you have a computer the size of a dime or something that can out-think the human race.
Guys, the technology that we've seen happen over the last few years, the new cars that we've seen, the new computers we've seen invented, the increase in processor speed, the increase in storage capacity on your hard drives, the increase in the ability to communicate with people with the click of a button or with a like on Facebook, the ability to hit somebody up on Facebook, or before it was MySpace. Remember MySpace, that it was a revolution. And MySpace was a revolution and nobody even uses it anymore, guys. And it was such a revolution in communication, it changed the way people thought. Facebook has even done more so.
Facebook has caused revolutions in the way people think. The ability to instantly without cognitive resistance communicate with people all around the world with the click of a button, with the click of a like, with the sending of a message, guys. It has changed the way people think, communicate, behave and interact with the environment around them. The world will continue to change, and it's going to continue to get faster and better. We can look at these things, and we can look at the rate of progression.
We could project it out into the future and we could say what's possible. Anything. Anything's possible. Is it possible to end famine in the world?
Well, yeah. Why? Because we've changed so many other things. Is it possible to live a life that you've never lived before, to have an income that nobody in your family's ever had? Yes, because I've done it.
You know, my family, it comes from generations of people who were farmers, people that were poor, people who had to work all day and night just to survive and to eat bread. And, you know, I'm sure they were still happy because most farmers are. And you know what? My grandpa raised himself out of being a farmer through education. And he was the first one in my whole family line that stepped out of poverty.
And he moved from poverty to the middle class where he carried my dad and my family. And everybody in my family has moved out of poverty, pretty much, and into the middle class. And that comes from the generation of my grandpa who decided that he was going to educate himself, who decided that he was going to try something that his family had never tried, who decided that he loved himself enough to invest in his future, who decided that he was going to get all in emotionally in life, who decided that he was going to have a vision. And that vision unfolded exactly how he saw. You know, that's a guy.
I never saw him not wear a suit ever a day in my life. You know, he was alive until I was about 19 years old. 19 years old, he passed away. And still, when I was 19 years old, the most relaxed I'd ever see him dress was he took his suit off and was wearing a shirt and a tie.
My grandpa was a great man, lived to be about 96. And then my dad became educated. He was the salutatorian of his high school. And my mom was a valedictorian. And then my dad went to Stanford, went to Cornell, got himself educated, and rose to a little bit of a higher level in the middle class.
And then I came along in my family, too. And I said, you know, I'm going to decide to educate myself, too, but to do it in a new way. I'm going to decide to move myself from the middle class to the rich. I'm going to decide to move from the rich to the super rich. I'm deciding that I'm going to influence people all over the world, that I'm going to expand my influence past the little town that I live in.
I'm deciding that I'm going to speak life, not just to the people around me, not just to my family, but to the whole world. I'm deciding right now that there's going to be hundreds of thousands of people driving around in their cars, listening to inner circles as they learn how to get free from an existence that they don't like yet. I'm going to teach people all over the world who are watching videos, millions of people a day seeing the things that I speak. And as they speak and as they listen, I'm going to watch them transform and watch it unfold before me as the numbers become a manifestation of the clarity of the visions that change. I'm going to see the people around me, guys, learn things that nobody in history has ever learned because we're discovering new things about the world and human beings every day.
You know, we didn't know 150 years ago that you can't look at the world without changing it. We didn't know that quantum physics existed until after Einstein had already changed the Newtonian physics that people had held in their hearts and sworn that was the way the universe worked for hundreds and hundreds of years. And before that, I don't even know what people believed. They probably believed that the sun rotated around the earth or something, right? Because people's crazy beliefs change all the time as we continue to learn and discover and unveil new things.
And I know that we can learn and discover new things about what's possible, what's possible for human beings to do as they make new decisions, step into a new future, and they decide that everything around them is going to change as they let go of the past, as they decide that everything around them is going to become the past as they step into a new future, as they decide that as they step into Denver with us, sharing with thousands of people, shouting out around an auditorium that people are going to look up there and there's going to be somebody standing in the back of the room who's going to stand up and they're going to say, somehow, someday, some way. I'm going to be standing on a stage with more than 6,000 people. I'm going to be filling auditoriums and rooms of people all over the world cheering and chanting. I'm going to be speaking in rooms and auditoriums of 10,000 and 15,000 and 20,000 people. I'm going to be standing in auditoriums filled with people whose lives are transforming.
I'm going to be speaking life into new groups of people who are stepping up and raising themselves in a new future. And there's going to be somebody standing in that room who's in poverty right now, and your family's been in poverty for 1,000 generations. And you're going to walk into that room, and your whole family line, the genetics of your financial DNA are going to change because you make a new decision. Because as Tony Robbins says, the past does not equal the future. And guys, that's true.
Now I want everybody here to realize something, that what's possible for you to do, whatever it is that you decide. And how are you going to do that? By reading, by learning, by associating, by getting around the people who are going to walk with you, who are going to step in front of you, not to cut you off, but to lead by example, with people that are willing to try new things in their marketing, by people who are willing to put in the extra hours that it takes, by people who are willing to put their heart and their soul on the line for a new and beautiful vision, for people that are willing to step out and to try things that nobody in the history of the world has ever tried. And just like the artist who stares into a blank canvas, and as they begin to paint, a picture comes forth out of the background, so can your mind stare out into the universe, create a blank state, and create a new universe to live inside. And that universe is going to be the universe that you want to walk in.
It's going to be the life that you want to have. It's going to be closing your eyes and imagining in your mind walking on the marble floor, and the house that you're going to live in, that you've paid for debt-free. It's going to be realizing that you can speak in front of crowds of thousands as you close your eyes, and you imagine thousands of people around the auditorium in front of you, cheering and chanting your name. It's going to be that you can realize that you can drive that car that you've seen drive down the road, and you can drive by those houses that you see in before, in the past, way off in a distant past that you could barely remember. You may have driven by, and you may have said, those guys are lucky.
But now you drive by. And you could say, I deserve to have what they have. And one day, somehow, someway, someday, by some method of my effort and energy, I am going to step into a house that's even more grand than that. And I'm going to step into a boat that's even better than that. And I'm going to ride on a yacht that's even bigger than that.
And I'm going to go on a cruise that's even longer than that. And I'm going to see an ocean even more beautiful than that. And I'm going to hike up a mountain that's even more grand than that. And I'm going to walk into my future. And I'm going to speak life into the world.
And I'm going to change the people around me. And I'm going to let go of old beliefs, associations, and I'm going to let go of things that aren't magical. And I'm going to do things that nobody in the history of the world has ever done because nobody's ever seen me in the world. Nobody's ever heard my vision in the world because I haven't been speaking my vision the way that I'm going to do now.
And just like the artist staring into a blank canvas, so you blank out the universe in front of you and you fill it with something new because you, my friend, can be magical. You, my friend, can be extraordinary. You, my friend, can do things that even your grandparents and your parents and the generations of success before us have never imagined. You can do things that nobody has ever seen. You can speak life into people that nobody else can reach.
Your story can create magic for people that's never been created in the world. You can see miracles in your life. You can see people transform from the inside out in one moment just by shaking your hand. Just like in the Bible, people walking in Peter's shadow, and by walking through his shadow, they were healed. Now, did that actually happen?
I don't know. But what I do know is this. I know that when you expect something to happen, it tends to happen. I know that expectation creates physiological changes in your body.
I know that by expecting something to work, it tends to work better. I know that by expecting that you're going to get two sales a day, that you can actually start creating two sales a day. I know that by expecting that you're going to be the next person on stage, that you create a radically different transformation in your life. I know that by expecting people around you to respond to you and to respond to things that you don't want to you say, your words are going to become more powerful because there's something magical about human beings. And I don't know what it is.
And I don't know what your dream is. All I know, my friend, is I'm looking forward to meeting you. And this is what I'm going to say to you. Come with an expectation. And between now and then, let's do as much as possible.
And we will deliver on the promise. And we will be there. We will be there walking forward into the future with you. We will be there doing things that nobody's ever done.
We will be there walking by your side. We will be there to support and lift up your vision, because my vision is to build your dream. I will be there, and I will see you on the stage. I will see you accomplishing the things that you want to accomplish. I will see you stepping into that vision, stepping into that house, stepping into that car, buying the things you want to buy, giving the money you want to give to charity.
I will see you deciding to change the world. By your words, because, my friend, you can. You can do it. You're doing it now. You're deciding to do it.
And if you continue to step in that direction, what can you do? You can do the incredible. Let's go empower the people. Come to Denver with an expectation. You're going to leave Denver with a bigger expectation.
Let's help you have that transformation. I want to hear your story. I want to hear your victory. I want to hear what you can do. I want to see you travel the world.
You know, I saw a video. We had the empower contest and the video contest going. I actually didn't make the contest, nor do I know the rules or who's won, because we exclude ourselves from the contest, obviously. There's a guy who's a dancer in Vegas, and I can't remember his name, but I'll meet him at the next event. I actually wish to get this guy dancing on stage.
I just watched his video. You know, he got started in his business. You know, he's not making a fortune yet, right? I always emphasize the yet. Why?
Because I don't know what people have inside, right? I don't know what people have inside. All I know is what's possible for them, right? And I saw this guy dance, and I was jealous, first of all, because he's so damn good at dancing. I was like, man, you know, that man's got the sexy moves, you know?
But he got started in his business, made enough money to move over to Thailand. He's now hanging out with Project AWOL out there, all making videos and reality shows and whatever they're doing. And I was watching that, and I was like, you know, isn't that cool? Isn't it cool watching people do the things they've always wanted to do?
Isn't it cool watching people build the dream they've always wanted to have? Isn't it cool watching people step into a new and a beautiful and a different future, a future that's filled with things that people can't even imagine, who live outside a world where you can just create the world that you live in by your words? Isn't it cool watching people who make a new decision about their future, and in one moment, they turn everything around? Folks, you know what the coolest part about it is? It's you.
It's all the unrealized yet dreams on this call. It's all the unfinished and unaccomplished dreams yet that exist listening to the sound of my voice. It's your dream. It's the things that you've always wanted to do. It's the beliefs that you need to let go of.
It's a space that you need to create in your life. It's a vision that you need to cast into the future. It's the words that you need to speak to walk into a new existence in your life. That's what's the most exciting part about it. It's the things that you've always wanted to do.
Because there's somebody on this call who's got a bigger dream than me. And when you start walking into that, my dream's going to need to get bigger fast. And I don't know who you are. And there's somebody on this call right now. There's somebody on this call going through a struggle in your life.
And I don't know what it is, but here's what I know. Every struggle has a start, has a peak, it has an end, and it has a finish. There's a time when there's not a struggle anymore. And that's how it'll be with you.
And I don't know who you are, and I don't know what it is, but I'm telling you, I believe in you. And there's somebody on this call that wants it so bad. They're pacing back and forth in the room, like me, with the phone, pacing back and forth, because they want it so bad. And I'm telling you something, you can do it.
There's somebody on this call who's a better speaker than I am. There's somebody on this call who's better in video than me. There's somebody on this call who's way better at SEO. There's somebody on this call that's going to build a bigger team faster than I did. And they don't even know it yet, because they've never succeeded before.
There's somebody on this call who's struggled for longer than I did, and harder, and is even going to have a bigger victory. When they finally step into that, they'll say, David, you were right. There's somebody on this call who's going to be in the Mastermind Council, who's dreaming of new and beautiful things.
And there's somebody on this call who's going to be one of the most famous people in the world. There's somebody on this call, and maybe that person is you, that's making a new decision, with me now, to come to Denver with an expectation. An expectation for your future. And maybe, just maybe, that person is you. And I want to encourage you, and tell you, that if I can do it, you can do it.
That if Chris Rushlow can do it, you can do it. That if Vic Strafehouse can do it, you can do it. That if Laura Parrish can do it, you can do it. If Dave Sharp can do it, you can do it. If Aaron Rashkin can do it, you can do it.
If Chris Campbell can do it, you can do it. If Chris Jones can do it, you can do it. If Chris Record can do it, you can do it. And your name doesn't even need to be there. It doesn't even need to be Chris. Tracy Walker can do it, did you know? You can do it. You know, I knew Tracy before she was making all the money. You know, if Nicole Cooper can do it, you can do it. You know, when she started, she was depressed. You know, if Tony Rush can do it, you can do it. You know, when he started, he was burned out and never really wanted to do network marketing again, was depressed for months before he got started, not able to work because he was just done. Did you know, did you know, that if Tissa can do it, you can do it?
Guys, anybody that you see, I'm telling you, I am NOT better than you, and I can't do something that you can't do. Everything that I've done, you can do, and more. And some of you on the call, you can do more. The only reason you're not doing it now is because you didn't make the decision I made a few years ago, and you know who you are. You didn't decide to do whatever it takes.
And there's someone here who just made that decision. Congratulations, because that's all that it takes, because once the decision is actually made, it's the work that follows. If you're willing to do whatever that is, there's no limitations on someone that doesn't see them, and that's the beauty. We got a lot of Roger Bannisters on the call. We got a lot of the next Dave Woods.
We got a lot of the next Lawrence Tams, but more importantly, who do we got? You. And who are you? I keep seeing more and more amazing things all the time, and I know who you are.
You, my friend, you are the Empower Network. You, my friend, are the future. You, my friend, are the visionaries that can change the course of the world. You, my friends, are the ones that can speak life into the people around you. My friends are the ones in the call that are going to learn how to make jungles in the desert.
You, my friends, are the ones in life that can take a molehill and turn it into a mountain. You, my friends, are the ones in the world; they're out there speaking life, and everything around you changes even when you don't see it. You, my friends, are planting gardens in places of destitution. You, my friends, are the ones leading the people free.
You, my friends, are the ones setting the example, getting up each day, following the eight steps, getting to the events, so focused on your future that you don't even realize there was a past, because that's not you. Where you're headed is, and where you're headed are for things that even I can't imagine, because what can the people do when they unify? Anything.
And I'm proud of you. I'm proud of you for making a decision. I'm proud of you for meeting us out in Denver. I'm proud of you for deciding to do something new, to decide to create space in your life, to decide to let go of the past so you could step into a new future. I'm proud of you for staying focused no matter what happens.
I'm proud of you because you are the change that I want to see in the world. And I just wanted to tell you I appreciate you, my friends. Be blessed. I'll see you in Ohio. See you live in the dream, because you, my friend, are Empower Network.
