Hey guys, what's going on? This is Dave Sharp again, co-founder of Empower Network, and tonight we got a rocking call, not even joking around. Tonight we're going to really dig into a really cool topic that's one of the topics that I've talked about and really practiced a lot inside of my business called the evidence principle. I'm going to teach you guys exactly how powerful that is and how you can start applying it to your business right away to give the people around you, whether that's your friends and family, your customers, your prospects, the evidence that they need to be able to see that what you're doing is something that they should do too and get involved with. It's super powerful, and I'm going to show you how it applies to not only to them but also to us because oftentimes we need the evidence to move forward.
We need to move forward on things and tip ourselves over that belief level as well. I'm going to show you exactly how simple it is but how powerful it is. So for those of you who are on the call, brand new, wondering why you're here, well, my name is Dave Sharp. I'm the co-founder of Empower Network, and I'm basically just an ex-homeless guy who kind of got involved in the home-based business industry after kind of a long, drawn-out drought of being homeless and broke, working on construction sites off and on. Being on the streets, being addicted, and struggling with alcoholism and dealing with all kinds of issues that a human being can deal with, struggle, defeat, emotional and spiritual and mental blocks that basically had me at a point in my life that I didn't know what I should do next and how to get out of the hole that I was in.
And about four and a half years ago, I dragged my butt around a bunch of people and asked them to help me get my life together, and they did. And that took me on a journey of personalization. Personal development. And then I realized that it sucked to be broke. So I was on a construction site one day, and a guy named John kept hassling me about this home-based business opportunity, and I kind of shunned it off a little bit at first.
And then finally, just I think despite myself, I said, okay, I'll take a look at it. And I took the money that I had from that construction job, got involved in this business opportunity that I'm no longer with, but that doesn't matter because it gave me the evidence that I needed to keep going. And I struggled. Struggled a little bit. And then lo and behold, was able one day to never swing the hammer again.
I never had to hammer in another nail into a piece of lumber. And I took what little bit of money that I had, which was less than $1,000, much less, probably more around $500, $600, $700. And I said, I'm going to go full-time in this industry. And I took a risk, and that risk ended up paying off for me. And a few years later, here I am.
And it was a long journey in between then. But what I'm going to teach you a little bit tonight is what I did throughout those couple of years to give me the little oomph that I needed to see the evidence that proves to me that I'm in the right place at the right time and I'm doing the right thing and not to give up. Guys, I've been through every single struggle that somebody can go through inside of this industry. I've been through all of the business and financial struggles. And I've been through all of the mental.
I've been through all of the physical and emotional struggles that somebody can go through, rejection, disbelief, disbelief from the people who were around me inside of my family, disbelief from the people who didn't even know me because I was developing the skills when I got involved inside of this industry at first. I had a bunch of skills, but they were kind of unorganized. And what this industry showed me how to do was organize those skills in a way that I could use them to make money with. I didn't know how to do that at first. I just knew how to work with my hands.
I didn't know how to work with my head. But there was a problem, obviously, with the industry was that I got involved in traditional MLM or network marketing. And that's exactly what happened to me. I went out. I started sponsoring people.
I can still remember the first check that I got, guys. It was $2.50. Now, they got a little bit bigger from there, but they didn't get much. So I went down. I went down and spent some time down in Costa Rica with my good friend now and also partner, co-founder of Empower Network.
I'm going to talk about that a little bit tonight on tonight's call. And we got together face-to-face, started talking about some problems inside of the industry because we didn't give up. We kept at it. We were experiencing some success. But the people around us weren't.
And an idea was born into a thought, which was born into an action, which a few months later was born into. And we said, you know, how can we take our skills and allow the average person just getting started to borrow those skills to be able to make the type of money that they are kind of promised when they get inside of this industry? You know, when you watch those business presentations and everybody on this call, I want you to think back to the very first presentation that you saw, and it probably wasn't in the last year. There's a really good possibility that the first presentation that you saw was maybe a year, two years, five years. Maybe even ten years ago.
And you looked up on that whiteboard or on that screen in that home or hotel meeting or whatever that somebody was doing, and they said, if you just get two, who get two, who get two, who get two, you'll be rich. How the hell am I going to make this work? We knew that. We understood that. We'd been around the industry for a little bit.
We'd been around the industry for a little while, and we knew everything that didn't work, and we said, what if we could create a system that would give somebody a marketing platform that they could use immediately on day one as soon as they got started for $25, no setup. It was all setup form. They could leverage our platform and our marketing skills, and then if they also wanted to be an affiliate or a rep of our company, they could turn around and sell our products and keep all of the money. We thought that was something that would solve the problem that this industry was in. I didn't know that it was going to solve it that good.
I just figured that we'd get some people in, the message of freedom, the message of let's stop being slaves to the big companies and the big gurus was going to ring true, and it was going to resonate with some people. I just didn't know that it was going to resonate with 30,000 people. I just didn't know that it was going to resonate with 30,000 people in over 170 countries around the world. Here's what I'm going to say to you, and then I've got to get on with some other things that we're going to be talking about on this call tonight. If you're sitting on this call and you're wondering, why am I here?
Well, you're here for a reason. I'm one of those state guys, F-A-T-E, state guys. I believe that things happen for a reason. You're on this call because somebody wanted you to stop struggling with whatever you were struggling with, whether that was getting tiny, weeny, wimpy little 20% commissions. Or whether you're just in a situation to where you're not making enough in your job, and keeping all of the money, 100% of it, inside of a community that will push you to be the person and live up to your full potential would benefit you.
So here's what I'm going to say, and then I've got to move in. Just get in. Just get in. Click the link. Go back to the email of the person that sent you here, and just get in this thing.
And we're going to show you how you can do. And achieve any goal that you set. We have a formula. There's a science behind it. We've uncovered it.
And, guys, we have people who have never made a dime inside of the network marketing, direct sales, or affiliate marketing industry who have made upwards of 10, 20, 30. Is that a guarantee that you're going to make money? Guys, let's not. Weenies, we have an income disclosure at empowernetwork.com forward slash income.php. But what I will tell you is I personally have never seen anything work as well as what we're doing here at Empower Network.
So with that being said, just get in. Here's what we're going to be talking about tonight, guys. We're going to be talking about evidence and how really the principle of evidence inside of your business can not only work wonders for your belief system, pushing you over that. You're going to be talking about evidence inside of your business. So let's start.
Think about that. That's right. So let's start. Guys, we're doing the Costa Rica Masters Retreat down in Costa Rica the weekend of August 16th through 20th. Now, that's a $5,000 retreat.
And, guys, we just offered it to the attendees at the Don't Be a Wussy event in Atlanta, and everybody in the room thought it was $10,000, and they started to get up to go back to reserve their seats. Now we completely sold out of the retreat at the event in Atlanta, but we called the resort down in Costa Rica. I'm going to talk a little bit more about kind of what we're doing here and what it's all about, a little bit more on the call, but we called the resort up and we were able to open up a few more spots. So what I want to do tonight is I want to offer those to you guys to take action. I want to tell you why it's so powerful and why this offer is something that makes sense, why if I heard this offer and I was somebody who was looking to create some evidence inside of my business, I would jump all over it. Here's what I mean, guys. About, I don't know, eight months now, so it'd probably be roughly about 12 or 13 or 14 months, I got a phone call from Dave, my partner, Dave Wood, co-founder of Empower Network. And he said, Dave, I want you to come down to this retreat that I'm doing down here in Costa Rica. And I was like, okay, we've been talking on the phone. We'd been kind of building a relationship and kind of, you know, just talking about some things, but we hadn't really cemented anything yet.
And I said, okay, you know, I'll go. And then I got off the phone and it was kind of a decision that I had to think about. And it was a pretty big commitment for me because obviously I had to go down there. I had to book the time. I had to, you know, it was expensive to go down there, all that stuff.
And I had a decision to make. And here's what happened from that retreat. And I'll talk a little bit more about that here throughout this call a little bit. But from that retreat, Dave and I weren't talking about Empower Network before I went down there, but here's what it did. It gave us the opportunity to be able to sit in front of each other, hang out around each other, and really kind of brainstorm some ideas and get around the people who were making things happen.
Some other leaders came down, Lawrence Campbell, Ola and Shola, Chris Rushlow was down there. Guys, and from that retreat, Empower Network was born. Now there's a lot of details in between that, but the truth of the matter is, is that me saying yes and going down there was the beginning of something that I would have never imagined was going to happen when I was tipping the fucker first. And guys, when I went down to Costa Rica, there's something powerful that happens when you create something tangible inside of your business. A lot of times we're just talking about this, we're posting pictures and doing things on Facebook, we're calling people.
People don't usually see things until they see maybe that you're making money. They see a check. I got another story that I'll tell her in a little bit. But guys, when people saw that I went down to Costa Rica, when they saw me posting pictures, they saw the videos, they saw me actually showing them evidence that I was actually doing something, making something happen inside of my business, guys, a whole lot of people, when I came back from Costa Rica, got involved in what David Sharp was doing. And that was even before Empower Network.
Why? Because I gave them something tangible. I gave them some evidence that what I was doing was real and that they needed, not just wanted, but needed to be involved in it because they were on Facebook looking at my pictures and looking at kind of what I was doing from their jobs and their cubicle hate and what they were doing. And they saw me going down to Costa Rica, walking on the beaches of the world, guys, living my day. And that was the evidence that a lot of people needed who are kind of sitting on the fence and say, hey, I want to get involved in what Dave Sharp's doing.
And I want to get involved now because I'm going to bring out somebody here real quick because he doesn't have much time. And he's going to be one of the trainers down here at the Costa Rica retreat. Guys, you can find more information at the Costa Rica Masters Retreat dot com. That's where you can actually reserve a spot for this. But I'm going to bring out Aaron Raskin here.
And guys, here's somebody who's been selling high ticket. And when I say high ticket, I mean, he sold upwards of $40,000 and $50,000 retreat seminars, products. This guy's made millions of dollars inside of the direct sales and network marketing industry. And he's going to be somebody who's going to be teaching down here at this retreat.
I want to bring him out real quick because I know he doesn't have much time. Aaron, are you on the call, brother? Aaron, you on with us? Okay, guys. Well, if Aaron jumps on the call, then buddy, you're welcome to hop out.
You may be having some technical issues. I know you had to go here. You didn't have much time. But buddy, if you're on the call, you're welcome to pop out. Anyways, guys, here's the cool thing about Aaron is Aaron sold retreats.
He sold seminars. He sold all kinds of high ticket stuff inside of this industry. And this is somebody who what we're going to be doing down here is we're going to be dissecting these guys' businesses. We're going to be basically teaching you how you can replicate and duplicate what they're doing. And I got to tell you that one idea.
I want you to think about what the idea was worth from David and I's retreat down in Costa Rica when he put it on. So guys, sometimes we underestimate the potential of something like this. Oftentimes, obviously, we look at it like, what is this going to cost me? What is the sacrifice that I have to make? But the real question is, what can I gain from something like this?
What can I gain from going down there and not only dissecting people's businesses like Aaron Raskin or Charles Marshall or John Morose or Dave Wood, myself. We've got a couple of other guest trainers that I'm going to talk about here in a second. Another online guy who's not on the call tonight, but he's going to be down there and teaching inside of this particular retreat is Dagan Smith. Now, guys, this is going to be information that you guys can apply to your business, not only your Empower Network business, but these are going to be principles and strategies, guys, that you can use and apply it to any business and will be so invaluable for the rest of your career inside of this industry. I can't even tell you, I can't even describe in words what I'm going to do.
I'm going to tell you what I'm going to do. I'm going to put it into words what it was for me when I went down to Costa Rica. Another guy who's going to be down there at Costa Rica, and I better make sure that this guy is on the line here before I bring him out. Tony, are you on the call, buddy? Hey, Dave, can you hear us?
Oh, is that you, Aaron? Yeah, we're here, man. We called in on the right line, but you couldn't hear us on the last attempt here, but we're back on now. Oh, cool, dude. Well, listen, man, I know you don't have much time.
I just wanted to pop you out here real quick, and, you know, I'm just kind of offering the last minute, last couple of spots here to the Masters Retreat to people on the call, and, you know, I was talking a little bit about evidence. I don't know if you were on the call there throughout the beginning when I was talking just kind of about the evidence. Obviously, I'm packing a lot of information into a little bit of time, but because I wanted to bring you out here, but basically, man, you know, I know that you not only are going to be teaching, you have a lot of experience in this ballpark, man, going to retreats, selling retreats. Talk about a little bit about the value of what we got here, the people who are coming down. I don't know if you knew that Dagan Smith was also going to be coming down.
Of course, Curtis and Lisa, I think you met them at the event. They're going to be coming down and teaching, so we're going to have a wide assortment of people, and then I don't think what most people really know is that the magical time is, you know, outside of the retreat when we're just kind of hanging out. Take it over, brother. I know you only got a few minutes. Yeah, you bet.
Thanks so much, and Sophia and I are both here, too. I'll just share quickly. I mean, here's what I tell people. I'm not going to be talking about people about events. Everybody's got to pay their price.
Everybody's got to do the things that successful people do, and the fastest way to shorten your learning curve and to bend time is to get with the people that are making the big money and do it live and do it over a three, four-day period where you're not just sitting in a classroom style with theater seats. You're not just sitting and reading and taking notes, but you're actually observing what they do, how they carry themselves, the conversations that they have, the language that they use, and there's no better place to do that in a live event, and especially, Dave, and you know this because you know where we've been in the last several months. You know, Sophia and I were actually at this resort about two months ago with our primary company.
We had a weekend retreat there, and we flew out there, and not only is it a beautiful resort in the jungles, of course, but it's also a beautiful resort in Costa Rica, but it's so relaxing. I know you made mention in your video, I watched your video on the Empower Network blog earlier today that it's, you know, just this resort alone is worth the price of admission. Forget about the training. Forget about the networking and the connecting and the learning and the rubbing of shoulders and bumping of elbows and all of the magic that goes on inside a small circle of networkers that are making millions of dollars, but the event itself, you know, they're located in Costa Rica, and it's so relaxing. The location of the hotel and the scenery, it's just absolutely breathtaking.
So, yeah, we're there for the same reasons that everybody else is going there because we know that when you go to a live event, it's no longer one plus one equals two. One plus one equals 15, and the people that go to live events, Dave, here's the magic of live events. The biggest commitments are made at live events, and if you don't show up when the event's over, you're the exact same person that you were when it started. When you go to the event and you get in front of the top earners in your niche and the people that are making it happen in your industry, something magical changes inside you, and you go home a completely different person. You go home the person that it takes to really do the things necessary that make the difference in your business, whether it's belief, doing different, you know, strategy, having different strategies, taking different actions, and, you know, I'm a product of live events, too, Dave.
I started going to events when I had no money. When I was living in a small one-bedroom apartment when I found myself almost homeless. When I had bills to pay, rent to pay, I didn't have a car. You know, I was praying to get back on my feet. I had my bike stolen, so hell sure I was back on my feet, and I did everything and anything.
I sold things that I owned to get to my very first live event, and I remember walking across a stage to collect a small check, and I was sweating in my armpits, and my sponsor literally had a push-up me out of my comfort zone, and he told me something magical. He said, do the uncomfortable until it becomes comfortable. You know, do the things that most other people wouldn't do, right, so that you can do the things that others can't do, and that's when I realized that event changed my life, and I've never quit going, Dave. Whenever an event's announced, Sophia and I are the first ones to make reservations. We get on with the airlines.
We book our hotel, and we don't just do this because we have money. We do this because that's what's important. It made us the money, and I know that everybody's going to be someplace in, you know, six months, a year, two years from today, three years, five years. The question is, is where do you want to be? Do you want to be the same person who uses the same excuses that doesn't show up at events and buys their own story and finds themselves buying other people's incomes, or do you want to be somebody that steps outside your comfort zone, does something completely, completely unreasonable, and then gets unreasonable results, and that's what it's all about, Dave.
I can't say enough about it. I know Sophia wants to share real quick before we wrap up, because we have another commitment here in a couple minutes. It's our anniversary tonight, so we're going out for a nice hush-posh dinner. Oh, that's right, man. Hey, happy anniversary, bro.
How many years now, man? Six years. Six years. Guys, we've got six-year lovebirds on the line. You've got to love that, man.
Partners in not only life, but also in business. Yeah, Sophia, go ahead. Glad to have you on today. Yeah, you know what, Dave? She's actually not in the car.
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. She's sitting in the car. She's waving me in. Looks like we're being seated here in a couple minutes.
Okay. All right. Yeah, sorry for the tease there, but yeah, Sophia's going to be down in Costa Rica. She is a paid traffic specialist and an expert, has now delivered over 150,000 leads, causing us to earn over, well, we're approaching a couple or a few million dollars in commissions right now from what she's done in our business, and she's going to be down there in Costa Rica for the week and teaching. She's going to be teaching all of the strategies that she has perfected and learned, and all of the details that most people overlook when it comes to paid advertising that she learned the hard way, but is going to be teaching that so that people can shorten their learning curve there as well.
So it's kind of like an allergic reaction when she sends traffic. You guys break out in commissions. It's weird. It's weird how that works. Yeah, well, here's the best part, man, is that the commissions that people make here in Empower are two to three times as much.
Two to three times the commissions that we've made over the last few years. So 100% commissions rock, and when you apply what she's going to teach, what I know you're going to teach, what I know Tony's going to teach, what I know Dave's going to teach, Dagan's going to teach, what I'm going to teach, what John's going to teach, and all these other, Chris Campbell and Chris Jones, those guys are just the experts, and when you add that up with 100% commissions, it's just a royal explosion. Yeah. I just can't wait to get back to Costa Rica to be with you guys, get back to the resort, and that all-inclusive is just, there's nothing better than that, man. It's a lot of fun too.
Hey, cool. Hey, go enjoy your wife, man. Happy anniversary again, and we'll see you in Costa Rica, brother. Hey, thanks for having me out, and you guys have a great call, and I'll be listening in first thing in the morning. All right, guys.
Cool. Aaron Raskin, everybody. So you heard it from the man, the myth, the legend himself. You know, guys, the kind of quality that we're going to have down here at this retreat is top-notch. We're going to have the best of the best, and I was really super excited to announce the fact that we've now got Dagan Smith coming down, and who knows, I might pull him out on a call or something and drill him and ask him a couple of questions here later on this week, but the bottom line here is, guys, is we already had, we were already sold out, okay?
We were able to open up a very, very limited number of spots, and most likely they'll be gone immediately. So the website to go and order at is CostaRicaMastersRetreat.com. Again, that's CostaRicaMastersRetreat, spelled out exactly how it sounds. It is a $5,000 retreat, but let me tell you exactly what you're getting on top of, obviously, the training. And I want to remind you that the training is just kind of one part of the real experience that we're going to have down there, just being able to hang out.
You know, we're in Atlanta. We had 12 or 13 of our staff, and we're going to be able to hang out, you know, for the entire retreat. I mean, it's like high school, let's be honest. We're going to be realistic.
You know, with the qualifications, we're going to have 15,000 people there, and, you know, every single person wanted to corner, you know, Dave Wood or Tony Rush or Aaron Raskin and kind of drill him or shoot a video with him or ask him a specific question, you know. Chris Campbell came out, and obviously, there wasn't the time to be able to do that, and I don't know how many times that, you know, I got kind of chased down a hallway, because somebody wanted to have a conversation. Unfortunately, you know, when you're in a big event like that, and there's that many people in there, there's that much going on individually with people that you want to spend with us, but what we're going to do down there is going to be completely different. It's going to be the opportunity to be able to get that one-on-one time, that intimate time, hanging out.
We're going to do something fun. We're obviously going to be hanging out at the retreat, and the experience, the hangout time, kind of like what I like to call it, on top of the training is going to be priceless, but here's what else you get. You obviously get your resort, your hotel paid for, guys. That's five days for a night. You get all of that paid for.
You get this. All of your food's paid for. Get this. Your drink, and even more, your alcoholic drink. All of it's paid for.
All of it is on an inclusive, it's all done. It's all taken care of for you. It's all one package price. The only thing you need to do is get that one-on-one time, and that's what we're going to do. The only thing you need to do is worry about getting down there, and everything else is taken care of for you.
Guys, just the vacation alone is worth $5,000. Anybody who's ever gone on a vacation before knows that, and then obviously on top of all of that, you get to spend that time, and I get to spend that time, and Dave gets to spend that time, and Aaron, and we're looking at it the same way that you're looking at it because it's costing us a lot of money just to put this event on for you. This is not a profitable event. This is an event that we want to put on to keep the same theme inside of Empower that we've kind of always had, which is for the people, by the people. Guys, for the people, by the people.
Here's an even cooler thing. Guys, we want you to feel good about everything. We want you to feel good about everything that you're doing inside of Empower. We want you to know that this is a place that you can succeed, that you can thrive. We want to give back so much into the community that people just say, you know what?
This is a no-brainer, and I want to stay here for a really long time, and I feel so good about what I'm doing here at Empower that I want to go and tell everybody about what we're doing. Why can you feel safe doing that? Well, A, you get to keep all the money. B, when we put on an event or do something like this, you get to keep all the money. C, you know that if you get people involved in Empower Network and they decide to do something like this, then you get rewarded for it.
And on top of that, you have the opportunity, guys, the opportunity, something that I didn't even know about when I first got involved in this industry, and it was not 18 months, two years down the road after I got back re-involved in the industry that I was invited to go to something like this, the opportunity to go and not just have a one-on-one, one-hour consultation over the phone. Let's go down and hang out for almost a week in one of the most exotic places. I almost said erotic. Yeah, I guess you can't be erotic, but the exotic places in the entire world, guys. This is about creating the evidence.
This is about creating the lifestyle, the designing your lifestyle and living the lifestyle that all of your friends, all of your leads, all of your prospects want to live, and when they see you live it, guys, then they're going to say, hey, I want to be involved in what that guy's doing. Guys, why do you think that Dave Wood has that, the ability to be able to shoot a video in Costa Rica and to be able to influence so many people to want to follow him, to be involved in what he's doing? Well, it's because they look at what he's doing, and they say, God, I want to do that too. They look at what we're doing here at Empower Network, and we're not telling you to go out there and pound the phones. We're not telling you to go out there and grind for shit 16 hours a day.
We're saying, hey, look, we want to teach you how to build a business and have a life. We want to teach you how to have more time with your kids, not less. We want to teach you how to work less hours on your business, not more. We understand that it takes hard work to start.
We understand that it takes a little bit of grinding, a little bit of rolling up your sleeves. Of course, guys, that goes without saying, but guys, we want to teach you that after you make the investment inside of yourself, after you say yes to going down and getting involved in something like the Costa Rica Masters, after you do what you have to do to get to where you want to go, that you don't have to continue to grind. We want to create the freedom model. We want to have the company that everybody's jealous of, and guess what we have? We have that.
Everybody out there is running around like chickens with their heads cut off, wondering how in the hell we're doing what we're doing, and the reason why we're doing it is because we've got something that's for the people, by the people. It's not made by some guy in a suit that's sitting up on some high-rise saying, go, my little minions, go, and making rich. No. We realize that if we want to have a company that's going to attract people, and they're going to want to feel good, they are going to feel good to be a part of, then we create an atmosphere of freedom. We create an atmosphere to where everybody can do something like go to the Costa Rica Masters Retreat.
We have a compensation plan, and people are getting results inside of Empower that doesn't make it a far stretch. So guys, imagine that if you aren't doing that yet, you go down and hang around the people who are making it. Tony Rush, I'm going to bring him out next. Guys, he's been doing one and a half years. Imagine going down and hanging around him for five days and four nights and saying, Tony, what in the hell are you doing?
Or having him do a breakdown of what he's doing inside of his business down in Costa Rica to be able to say, aha, I got him. Now I got it, and now I can do it. With that being said, Tony, are you on the call, brother? So I am. Nice to meet you, brother.
Hey, hey, what's going on, man? Well, listen, you know, it's always good to have you out. Man, guys, here's the thing. I am just kind of attracted to Tony Rush. Every time we've gotten together, and in the last, I don't know, we've got two months, we've hung out twice, twice in Atlanta, actually.
And I got to tell you guys, this is one of the guys that he doesn't have to be teaching. He doesn't have to be in front of the room. He can just be hanging out. You just watch him, and you learn stuff. You just watch what he does.
How he moves, how he interacts with people, how he communicates, how he interacts with his family. I was, you know, just seeing him interact with, this is somebody, guys, who will change your business and your life just to be around in Costa Rica for five days and four nights. So with that being said, guys, I think, you know, Tony, I think everybody knows what you've done inside of the industry, who you are, man. Just take it away, and let me know your thoughts here for a couple of minutes. Yeah, well, thank you, first of all, for the kind words.
Every time you introduce me on a call, I'm just overwhelmed with gratitude for the kindness. And I also feel a little bit too like I need to pinch myself, because I'll be 42 this year, and it hasn't actually been that many years ago that I was trying to figure out which end was up financially. And I was standing outside the circle, kind of peeking in, wondering, what is it that all the top earners know that I don't know? You know, and I've sort of let that, I kind of let some of that really almost train wreck my business, because I really don't know what's going on.
But I've really created a division, like, those are the special people, and I'm over here, instead of realizing that I have every ability that they have. You know, the only difference is, I just need to get around them and learn to think like they think, and see how they set goals, and see how they respond to adversity. Like, how do they respond when they run an ad that sucks? You know, you spend $400 on an ad that bombs. You know, you get around some like Aaron, and you see that stuff just roll off his back like water off of a duck's back.
You can't be around, you know, people that are, you know, really successful top earners without really picking up a lot of, like what you said, the kind of stuff that needs to be caught rather than taught. You just kind of got to be around it. And that was a big breakthrough for me, because I used to be a guy that bound, you know, one MLM to another, trying to figure out what's missing. You know, my breakthrough was at an event.
Because, you know, as much as we try to offer, you know, on the phone lines, and of course, we've got the most comprehensive product line in the internet marketing space. But there's something about just getting to an event, because it's magical. And everybody that went to Atlanta, you've already had a taste of this. But there's something that just happens when you get in a relaxed space, where, like the breakthrough you have, the breakthrough that you get is, you know, you're not going to get in Costa Rica, may or may not come from listening to me, or Sharp, or Dagan, or Raskin, or Wood, or any of the other leaders that are going to be there. You'll get some stuff.
That'll happen. You'll hear some stuff there that really just can't be taught in any other format. But the other thing that you get, and Sharp, you know this, because you've been to these events too, is, you know, you're sitting in the pool later, and somebody just says something that floats across your brain, and it's like a key fitting into a conversation. And you're like, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait, wait, wait, what did you say there? Go back.
What did you say? And he's like, oh, yeah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And all of a sudden, it's like walking in a dark room and flipping on a light switch. And that was my experience. The first time I went to a real event, and I don't mean, I mean, I've been in MLMs.
You know, you've got the smoky Holiday Inn ballroom, you know, and some, in my case, it was some doctor at the front of the room who was explaining the new product. It was a bunch of words that was unpronounceable, and amino, bicarbonate, bioflavonoid, glucopolysaccharides. And you're sitting there in a coma, and you're thinking, how am I going to translate this into cash? But when I got to my first real, what I call a real event, not a product launch, not some nutritional thing or some launch of a product or something. When you get to an event around people that are making lots of money, everything shifted.
As a matter of fact, I'll tell you exactly. The next month, the month after I got back from my very first real event was Dallas, Texas, years ago. And David, the funny thing in that pay plan, which, by the way, didn't pay nearly as well as what we have here, and we didn't have near the systems in place, and God knows we didn't know anything about generating fees or building a list or any of that stuff. But despite all the shortcomings of that pay model, the strangest thing, because I had a few sales coming in.
I was not destitute in that particular business. I had some sales coming in every week, but it's like I just kept bumping my head against the ceiling. It was very frustrating. And we didn't have a big budget or anything, but Jessica was like, you know what? I really think we need to get to Dallas.
I think if we get to Dallas, I just think that's going to be where we're going to turn the corner. And yeah, so short version is we came home from Dallas armed with some stuff that we just, there's no way anybody could have. Nobody could have told us about it. Nobody could have handed us a bullet point list of here's why you should be in Dallas and written down the stuff that we got, because it was all organic. It's the comment that you hear at a dinner table across the table from somebody like Aaron Raskin, where it's hanging out in the pool and getting 20 minutes one-on-one with somebody like Chris Daugherty and Jessica Daugherty or Tracy Walker or Lawrence Tam or Chris Campbell.
You know, or you're having dinner. It's all this casual stuff. It's sitting next to somebody at the event you didn't know until like four hours ago and you're having lunch with them and you're sharing this, and that's the mastermind. And it is the same. As awesome of a copywriter as David Sharp is, you cannot bullet point this stuff.
You just can't, because it's all going to happen on the fly. So we know what's going to happen from the stage. You know, we know what's going to be happening between the stage. And it is, I think, a paradigm shift from being the best speaker and your chair. But there's nobody in the world who can tell you what your experience would be like if you just get around the people.
And Dave, that's what comes up for me on this, man. Ever since Dallas, Texas, I've been a huge believer that if you want to have what the leaders have, if you want to have the incomes they have, then just do what they do. And part of that recipe is, I don't miss events. I'm not going to miss an event. I can't afford it.
I can't afford the lost opportunities. When you're a leader and you're somebody who serves a community, I can't afford the lost breakthrough, the lost income. So missing events to me is an expense, a luxury I cannot afford. So I go to all events, and it's going to be awesome. I've never been to Costa Rica, so I'm pretty stoked to get to come down.
I'm going to come down a couple days early, Jessica and I, and hang out. And then, yeah, looking forward to hanging with you guys again in just a couple months. Hey, Tony, just real quick, man, a quick question. I mean what is that, honestly, the value of that? Because I know this, but I didn't know this before I went and actually did it.
It was something that, I mean, some people have talked about. Sometimes we talk about things, and I've had a couple of these also in my personal life. I had a lesson recently in humility, and it was like oftentimes we talk about these specific principles. But it isn't until we're faced with a certain situation to where we, and we're in it to where we fully are like, ah, I understand that. That's not particularly what I meant with humility as if I never understood it, but I've had a couple of things recently that happened that it really created a definition for something specific in my life.
And it wasn't until that I actually went and traveled somewhere and took pictures and took videos and was able to share that with people. But I understood the power of creating that evidence and giving people something tangible to actually see. I mean even for somebody like you, man, who you're one of the top five earners here. I don't know, three or four or whatever. But what is the value just for you?
For me, well, I'll tell you this. When I got back from Atlanta, and I've said this to two people in both times, I kind of got the impression that they thought I was being a little false modesty, you know, and I wasn't. I was actually being totally honest. I got back to Atlanta, and I realized how small I've been playing. And in my mind, I mean, I've had several $30,000 to $40,000 months in the last, I mean, we've done, I don't know, $107,000 in the last three or four months, and that's awesome. And I particularly love that I'm not having to pick up the phone to do it, and I'm not working nearly as hard as I've had to work in other models. But when I got back from Atlanta, I realized, you know what, there is another level to take this.
Like, I wouldn't have to do a whole lot extra, just a little bit. But, and Atlanta was so hectic and so chaotic that I actually didn't get the chance to spend as much time with people like, say, Chris Campbell, who, you know, just went right by me in the last hour of that contest. And I've got to be honest, I'm like, hey, I'd love to spend some time with Chris Campbell and say, you know, hey, what are we doing, you know, and share some ideas. Here's what works for me. And so, at the minimum, I think somebody who's brand new just walked in the door, if they actually went all in with Empower Network and then came to Costa Rica, I'd be hard-pressed.
If they actually do what we teach them to do, and I know this is probably skating on the edge of noncompliance, so I'll just say this is Tony Rush's opinion. And for somebody who's already got a few things figured out, this could easily catapult somebody to a million dollars a year or more. So somewhere in that, Sharp, I guess I would say that for me personally, I look at this, what, a $5,000 expense to go to Costa Rica could potentially put a million dollars in my pocket in the next 18 months. And by the way, guys, Tony actually won a spot to go down there from a competition that we did, you know, and he's also going to be training.
So, I mean, this is somebody, man, who, and this is why I always like hanging around you, man, is because you've always got this perspective from what can I learn and how much is this going to make me opposed to how much is this going to cost me. The truth of the matter is, well, hey, Tony. Can I interject? Can I interject something? Can I interject something real quick?
Yeah, go ahead. Did I or did I not ask Samantha to rush up to the stage and ask you, do I need to buy this? Well, absolutely. Because I knew I had won something for being in the top five, but I saw all these people rushing to the back of the room, and I thought, you know what? It would be totally stupid for me to not confirm for sure that I've got a spot in Costa Rica because I'd hate to stand here thinking I've won it when I needed to go buy it.
So me and Jessica were standing in Atlanta prepared to ride for $10,000 because we don't want to miss it. That's true. Remember Samantha coming up on stage and asking you about it? Well, yeah, absolutely.
I mean we sold out the spot that we had at the event immediately, and, yeah, I do remember her coming up, and pay for all their food, and obviously all of your food and alcohol is paid for. I've got leaders. I was just Skyping Tracy Walker, who's going to be down there, and she's like, I'm filling out my form right now. Can I get right back with you?
I'm not even playing around. So it's the cool thing about what we've got here is this atmosphere of not ego, but how much is this going to make us? And that's so cool about what we've got going on here. So, Tony, I'll see you down in Costa Rica, brother. Thanks for coming.
Thanks for coming out. Absolutely, man. Thank you. Guys, I'm going to bring out my partner here in a second, who I think has taken a few minutes out of whatever he's doing down in Costa Rica to kind of jump on this call real quick. But, guys, I want to just give you just kind of a little intro before I bring Dave out. I want you to think about what you're really doing inside of this industry.
Why are you here? Guys, when I was coming up in my struggle, not only life, but also when I first got started inside of my business, I didn't even really understand what a vacation was, right? It wasn't until I actually went on a vacation and going down to that retreat that I was talking about here at the beginning of the call when Dave invited me to come down to Costa Rica for the very first time. I had never been to Costa Rica.
Hell, I needed to go and get a passport, guys, because I didn't really understand. I mean, I had started to travel a little bit, but before I started going on vacation, I didn't even know what it was. I remember all of these older people who were retired and stuff. And, of course, I was young, so they were super old to me.
I was just a young buck who had just kind of come up. If I had $1,000, I was rich. And they were talking about, yeah, when I retire, I want to travel and something that I really enjoy doing, so on and so forth. And I was like, yeah, what's the big deal? Well, the big deal was is that I had never traveled.
I had never been on vacation. I had never went anywhere. So it wasn't until I actually went and did something that I realized how much I was missing. So kind of what we want to do on top of everything that we want to provide at this Costa Rica retreat, the experience that we want to make, the value, the magical hangout time, again, like I like to call it, we also want to.
And this is what I'm talking about with the evidence on this call, to where you're creating that evidence for yourself and for other people, your prospects, your leads, your friends and family, the evidence that, guys, you are out there living your dreams. That's what this is all about. Let's not forget why we're doing this. We're doing this because I was tired of getting up every morning at 6 o'clock and going to the construction site. I was tired of having to start my Ford old beat-up F-150 with a screwdriver because that thing wouldn't even start.
I had to spark it. I was tired of living like that. I was tired of not knowing what a vacation was. I was tired of somebody had asked me, were I then telling them that I had been over to Tampa before?
I used to remember when I thought that a vacation was traveling 30 minutes across a bridge to the next city over. And they're like, oh, that's not a vacation. You know, that's my commute to work every morning. Well, to me, that was a vacation. Guys, so much is possible when you say yes and you go out there and you sometimes get a little uncomfortable to get comfortable.
I didn't realize that my dreams were a couple of decisions away. I didn't realize how close I was. I didn't realize how far within reach they were. And I can't imagine where I would be.
Well, quite frankly, I know where I would be. I wouldn't be on a call at 10 o'clock because I would have to be in bed because I had to get up at 5 o'clock in the morning to go swing a hammer on a construction site. I know where I would be if maybe Dave called a year or a year and a half ago or whatever and invited me down to Costa Rica and I didn't go. Guys, sometimes you've got to shut off the thinker and say, I'm there.
I know somebody on this call was walking just like the story that Dave always tells where you almost walked by the girl that you married. Or you almost didn't say yes to something that was one of the biggest defining moments in your life. I almost whooshed out and didn't pick up the phone and didn't go and drag my butt into that room and ask those people to help me save my life and get off drugs. I almost didn't do that.
Why? Because I almost talked myself out of it. There's power when you shut off the thinker and go with your heart. There's power when you shut off all of the self-doubting that you have going on inside of your head and you say, my gut's telling me to go and I'm there. Tony Rush is telling me to go.
I'm there. Aaron Raskin's telling me to go. I'm there. Dave Wood's telling me to go. And as a matter of fact, he's waiting down there for me.
I'm there. Hey, Dave, you on the call, brother? Yeah, yeah, I'm here. Can you hear me, Dave? Hey, man, you're loud and clear, brother.
How's it going, man? Let me just say this, dude. Thank you for not drowning on us, bro. Hey, well, you know, I was actually going to talk about that here for a sec. That was a fascinating experience.
But, you know, talking about moments of split decision, because I think I wrote about this in that post. But, you know, what happened is everybody here has probably seen that video, seen the blog post. But, you know, there's another, you know, Empower Network badass down here, Justin, and I invited him over to come hang out for a couple of days because he lives about, you know, a 20-minute flight away.
And we went to this new waterfall and, you know, he's sitting there pinned against the wall. And I barely noticed it, honestly, because I was sitting there talking to his wife. And he was off to the right. And people can, you know, get in trouble real fast. And I looked over and he kind of had this panic in his eyes.
And, you know, I went and I grabbed him. And I don't know, Dave, if you've ever tried to, like, you know, grab a drowning person and kind of drag them away from drowning before. But when your brain's panicking and shutting down, and everybody does it, they'll drag you down with them. You know what I mean? Because they're just kind of trying to reach for the surface.
And so it's a really common thing, especially, you know, in places where people don't know how to swim, where there's rip currents. And by the way, guys who are coming out to Costa Rica, we're not going to any crazy waterfalls that are dangerous or anything like that. But it's just a really common thing where people don't know how to swim. It happens a lot in Hawaii where somebody will get dragged off and their friend who also can't swim will go try to save them.
And then the friend is drowning and they'll pull him down in the water. And so it's a good thing that I'm bigger than him because I had to duck down, grab him, and toss him out from beneath there. And then I got trapped. You know what I mean?
So that's kind of what happened there with me. And luckily, I'm big enough that I was just able to work my way out after, you know, 30 seconds or a minute. But, you know, this is my point I want to get across to you guys on the call. You know, I'm here actually at a retreat right now. I'm over at a health retreat.
I took a few days to go, you know, do some yoga and eat raw foods and stuff up in the mountains at a place about an hour south of my house. And I wanted to pop on and just talk to you guys and just really communicate to you guys the power of decisions and the power of a dream. You know, when I got started in my business, it was, I've told this story a million times.
I lived in a van. I was poor. I was broke. I had absolutely no money. I did not have the ability to do the things I wanted to do in my life.
If my wife wanted to buy something, I could never buy it for her. We couldn't buy good food. My wife had a million allergies. We were buying food that caused her allergic reactions just because we couldn't afford anything else. I was running out of gas all the time.
I was in my car and kind of having to push my car to the next gas station because we were really low on funds. I didn't have the ability to even buy a computer, but I made a decision that I was going to change my life. I made a decision that I was going to do whatever I needed to do. I made a decision that no matter what it took, I was going to get to the top, and I made a decision that I was going to do it right then. From that decision, everything in my life started to change and to fall into place, and amazing things started to happen, right?
Now, I'm sure you guys have heard stories a lot of times about, you know, somebody making a decision and somebody working really hard towards something, and it seemed like it wasn't going to work, and then all of a sudden some ridiculous thing happened that is so ludicrous it seems almost like a miracle. Well, it was like thing after thing after thing after thing after thing like that happened to me in my life where things just fell into place at exactly the right moment at exactly the right time to be able to get me to where I decided that I was going to be. The reason I'm mentioning that is because there's somebody here who's listening to this call about this retreat in Costa Rica, you know, about this get-together that we're doing where we're going to mastermind and we're going to get together. You know, Dave Sharp came down. He came down in a split, in a last-second decision, folks.
It was the last moment. He almost didn't come, right? But he decided, I'm going to go down there. Now, I want you to think about that for a second. It was a phone call.
I didn't call Dave. I didn't give him a sales pitch. I didn't try to twist his arm. I didn't say, hey, Dave. Dave, you know, will you please come down?
You know, I wasn't being convincing. It wasn't this long thing. I called him up. I said, hey, Dave, you want to come hang out in Costa Rica and talk about some ideas to take over the industry? And you know what?
He just popped on a plane and came down. He just did it. He didn't think about it. He didn't take a long time to make a decision. He didn't take forever, and he didn't talk about it to 8,000 people.
He said, okay, I'm there. He got a passport, and he made it down, right? Now, think about from that decision, everything that came from that. Folks, that was a retreat. That was a retreat with a small group of about 10 people that had wanted to come learn a high-level skill in marketing.
This was a fraction of what we're going to teach at the Costa Rica Masters Retreat and, honestly, a fraction of the value. This course, folks, is going to change some lives. But more than that, I promise there are going to be people who come down to that retreat who form a relationship at the retreat because they decided to go on this call. So if you're going to be on the call tonight at the last minute as the seats are filling up, there's going to be people on the call tonight making that decision right now who, because they made that decision, will go there a year from now, and will be on a conference call with 1,000 people telling the story about how they almost didn't make it. Folks, that's how small the points are in your life that guide you to where you're supposed to be.
You have windows open up in your life that last for a split second, and you have a choice on whether or not you can take them or whether or not to let them pass you by. Let me give you some examples. When we launched the company, you guys know the story of Empower Network, obviously, because you're in, and if you ain't in, of course go to the website and stop being a wuss, you just get in, right? But you guys all know the story of how we started. We started from a small group of 30 people in a hotel room. We blew up to 10,000 people in the next 45 days, right? And there were people in that hotel room, I guarantee you, who decided to get in, and then that next week, the second we had our very first issue, they decided to get out. And there were other people in that hotel room who decided to get in. We had issues, and they said, it doesn't matter what happens, it doesn't matter what stands in my way, it doesn't matter what obstacles I have, it doesn't matter what pain I have, I'm going to do it, period. And they stayed in, and they've made hundreds of thousands of dollars.
I'll give you an example. I think this is a great example, actually, because he's open about it, so I could repeat the story. It's Rob Ford. Rob Ford came to that room, you know, the smelly one down in Orlando where we launched Empower Network, and he came to the room and he said, okay, Dave, I'm in. He handed me the order form. The next week he sent me an email, and he said, Dave, I see that you're having some issues, you're going to any, all this stuff, he says, don't process that order, I'm kind of nervous about it. And I responded back, and so Rob Ford almost did not join. I said, Rob, I'm going to tell you something. I'm okay not processing the order. I've known you for a long time. I love you. I think that you're awesome no matter what you do. But I'm going to tell you something. Your whole list is going to get in regardless of whether you do or not, and if they don't get in with you, you're going to lose several hundred thousand dollars.
So Rob Ford sent me back an email. He said, Dave, go ahead and process the order. It's okay, go ahead and take it. And then he just started doing a little bit of marketing, and as a result of that, he's made over $110,000 or $190,000 within Empower Network just in the last six months. And so by the act of his decision to go ahead with it, right, that's turned into, this year it will probably be an extra quarter of a million dollars just in that one example.
Folks, there are times in your life when you have an opportunity to do something great. There are times in your life when you have the opportunity to do something magical. There are times in your life when you cross over a line to where you never go back, right? And Costa Rica is going to be that place for a lot of people, and I'm going to tell you it's going to be that place for somebody on the call right now who's making a decision in this moment that they're going to do what it takes to go, right.
I remember, one night when I just started marketing on the internet, I was struggling. I hadn't been making any money. I was making, I think, an average of one cent an hour, you know. And I made my first sale, but if you average it out, you average the hours I've been working, it was like, you know, a tenth of a penny per hour is about how much money I was making. It was not a lot of money, right. And I just had these, I was angry, I was angry, I was sad, I was frustrated, I was depressed, I had tears coming down my eyes, I'd been working all day, nothing was happening, nothing was flying. I remember curling up next to my wife that night and just, I was mad and I was kind of shaken, and she said, you know, hey, what's wrong? And I said, I don't want to talk about it. And I almost quit. But you know what happened is I made a decision. I said, no matter what it takes, I'm going to make it happen, period. I kept going. Just one decision to keep going.
It was two months after I almost quit. Some people, they start to reach down inside themselves to pull up all the resources that they have that they've ever needed to accomplish their dreams. And just before they pull them out, they say, nah, it's going to be too hard. Well, here's what we're going to do down in that retreat, folks, because we want to take this, and keep in mind, folks, this is for a limited group of people, okay? We're not going to talk about this for several days.
We're going to end this here in a couple days. We sold out of a certain group of people coming, and we opened up a few more seats. We wanted to give you guys the opportunity to be part of that core group. I want you to think about the vision. I want you to think about the vision here of having the opportunity to be a part of a group of people who are going to launch a movement.
That's what you have the ability to do at the Costa Rica Masters Retreat. Wherever you are in the world, I don't care what your background is. If you have the ability to go, or if you can stretch and make it, here's what I want you to do. I want you to go to that website that Dave gave you. I think it's linked to on the front of the blog.
It's Costa Rica Masters Retreat, I think. I'm not sure what it is. Dave could clarify at the end of the call. Fill out the form, send it in, because I guarantee you that we are not going to have any seats left after tonight's call. You want to make sure to lock in your spot so we can make sure to shake hands and hang out for a few days down there.
My vision and my dedication to you is that at that retreat, you're going to come in one person wherever you are, and you're going to leave at a new level. If you're coming in here and you've been struggling, you're going to leave, and you're going to know how to not struggle in your life. You're going to come in there, and you've never been able to make a full-time income. You're going to know how to make a full-time income, but more than that, this is not a simple training course. You are going to know how to build a business at a very high level, folks, and it's going to be an irreplaceable experience to be a part of the creation of something magical here in Empower Network.
I don't care where you are, what country you're in, what your background is, what your profession is, wherever you come from. You have the ability to go where you can force the way into existence, because folks, that's what you do. You know how you make stuff happen? Let me tell you how you make stuff happen. Something doesn't exist, your dream, your vision, whatever it is.
You want to create something in your life. You know what it is? I'm doing it right now, and it doesn't matter what's going on. It doesn't matter what obstacles I run into. It doesn't matter how hard it is, what skills I need to learn, what education I need to pay for, because I'm going to do it, period, and you just start working. You get things done. Folks, that's how you create things in your life. A lot of people, they saw that movie The Secret ages ago, and they say, I know how to get a Ferrari.
It's by sitting in my chair and imagining it, and it's going to appear in a minute. Not the case, folks. Create something in your life. This is how you do it. You've got a vision, and you've got a dream.
You've got something that you want. Maybe you want to travel the world and sink your toes into the hot sand. Maybe you want to be on a crazy mountain looking out with a crystal clear sky with stars all in it like I'm looking at right now. Maybe you want to go eat raw foods in the mountains or something like that. Maybe you want a big house.
Maybe you just want to be out of struggle. Maybe you just want to make the money that you're worth. Whatever it is, what do you do? You start talking. You start talking about it.
You start believing in it. You act as if it's true, and you work your butt off, and then you make it happen. Folks, those of you who are here to create something incredible in Empower Network, here's what you need to do. You need to take action. You need to seize the moment.
Why? Because we're going to do things that's never been done. We're going to impact people around the world that we've never had the ability to touch before. But you've got to decide to take action and see us there, because by the time you leave there, you will be a different person. So, Dave, I can't say enough.
We can't sell this too hard, guys. The reason we can't is because, honestly, the trip itself without the training. Dave, back over to you, buddy. Yeah, man, and I don't even think I told you, buddy. You know, the value just keeps adding on to it, too.
We've got Dagan Smith. He's going to be down there teaching, too. I don't think I told you that, man, but, I mean, the value just keeps popping on, brother. So, hey, be safe out there, and listen, no drowning, no funny business. I won't, man.
It's not my time yet, you know, but that was a fun experience for sure, you know, but, you know, you see a brother going under the water, what do you do? You go get him, you know what I'm saying? You're damn right. No man left behind, brother. That's it.
That's it. Hey, so, hey, Dave, love you. Hey, everybody in Empower Network, love you all. Appreciate you all. Looking forward to seeing you guys in San Diego.
Looking forward to seeing you guys in Costa Rica. I appreciate every single one of you. Let's go make it happen. Let's focus on the vision, and let's take this to a whole new level. Dave, over to you.
Guys, be blessed, and I'll see you on the beach of the world, my friends. Hey, guys, so that's it, man, and, you know, the bottom line is this is not a hard sell. We're not actually even selling this. We just wanted to make an offer and let you guys know that we had a couple of spots just kind of open up, and I think more than anything, I wanted to really give you guys an insight. I hope that you picked that up tonight, really into the principle of how to create evidence and tangible proof inside of your business.
There's lots of different ways you can do that. It obviously is going to affect the person who's looking at it at different degrees. If I show somebody evidence of me kind of, you know, walking my dog around my neighborhood at, you know, noon while they're at work, well, that's, you know, that's evidence that can kind of affect somebody or influence somebody to a certain degree, maybe on a scale of 1 to 10, maybe a 4 or a 5, but if I show somebody a picture or a video or show them the things that I'm doing inside of my business, that I'm traveling around the world, that I'm hanging out on the beaches of Costa Rica, that's going to affect and influence somebody on a scale of 1 to 10, probably on a 10 or 11, as there's so many different things that can come out. If I was you, here's what I'd do, and this is what I would do if I was somebody who was getting started or kind of on that, on the fence, you know, what do I do? What do I want to do next?
What is the next stepping stone in my life or my business? If I was listening to this call, I would make the decision right now. I'm committed. I'm serious. And guess what?
You won't have to tell us. We'll see it in your eyes. I'm serious, and I'm ready to take it to the next level, and we'll recognize that. And that's when you're really in a space to grow. That's when you're in a space that magic happens.
That's when you're in a space that people start to recognize who you are, your name, guys. A great story. There's actually somebody who won a trip down here, which is John Wells. And, guys, you know, nine months, ten months, I don't know. I don't want to misquote John's story.
And I didn't ask him to come out on the call. Maybe I'll have him out next week or the week after just to kind of talk about it a little bit. But, you know, here's a guy who, you know, a little while ago, and I talked about this in the video that I put out, was handing out cards in Vegas. Let me just preface this story by telling you I was just in Vegas, and I saw this.
I was completely blown away. You know, I was walking down the street, and these guys, they were snapping their fingers. And I'm like, what are these guys snapping their fingers at me for? And they had these cards in their hands. And, of course, you're walking down the street.
Somebody's snapping their fingers, and they've got stuff that they're trying to hand to you. And, you know, typically you're not going to take it. You're going to kind of swerve and kind of mind your own business. But I grabbed one of these cards, and I looked down at it, and it was a card for an escort service, you know, like everybody on here knows what an escort is. So, you know, I'm like, holy crap, you know.
I mean, Vegas, it really is Sin City. It's a world of its own. Well, I mean, I'm telling John's story because he tells it too. But just a little while ago, he was one of those guys who was doing that, and he was so desperate. He was so down that he was out there doing something.
But maybe he didn't even feel good about doing it. When he got involved in Empower Network, guys, he gave $300 or $400 to his name. And he's been blogging two, three, four blog posts a day. And, again, at the beginning of this call, I said, I'm a fate guy, F-A-T-E.
I believe that things happen for a reason. He placed in the contest that we just ran, had two tickets in the drawing, and just won a trip down to Costa Rica. Guys, good things happen to people who decide. Again, guys, good things happen to people who decide to make things happen.
I love what Dave just said. Guys, you don't just think of something that magically appears. Guys, this is real-life reality. And the magic happens when you're face-to-face with somebody down on the beaches of the world talking about the things that they do inside of their business. So you can learn just one idea, guys. If you leave Costa Rica with one idea, one idea.
Guys, not only will that pay for it, but it will be the best investment of your life. I can't transfer my experience over to you. Actually, I've been talking in treatment centers and going around and talking for a couple of years now. And one of my favorite things to say is the only thing that I can really give you by talking to you is hope. That's the only thing that I can really give you.
I can talk about my experience, but I can't transfer that from me to you. I can get on a conference call or on a stage or on a webinar or on a live stream, and I can talk about my experience, and I can tell you the stories. But until you create the stories for yourself, you're not going to really know what I'm talking about. And that's the example that I was given a few minutes ago when I brought Tony Rush on. So many times, so often in this industry, we talk about living our dreams.
We talk about all this stuff. But it isn't until you're walking on the beach. It isn't until you're hanging out at dinner or on the beach or ziplining down in the mountains of Costa Rica with the best, brightest, and most talented marketers on the planet to where you realize, hey, I'm just not talking about living my dreams anymore. I'm actually doing it. It isn't until you get out and get off the phone, get out from behind the computer and go down and start traveling to wherever, you can come back and say, you want and need, you can say it with conviction and confidence.
Guys, doing things like that, having experiences and creating your own stories. You hear Dave talking and myself telling stories all the time about our experience and things that we've done, things that we've been involved in, things that we've learned. The reason why we have those stories to tell folks is because we've said yes and done so much stuff.
The reason why Tony Rush can come on here and talk about the events that he's done and been to, and Aaron Raskin can come on and share his experience of going to all these different events and tells you that they never miss an event, is because they've gone, and they have their own stories to tell, and I can tell you that nothing, nothing will help you create more success than to be able to have an inspiring story to tell the people who you're talking to. Nothing. Nothing, guys. You can tell everybody else's stories for the rest of your life if you want to, but if you want to start telling your own story, it's time to start stepping out on that ledge, taking a risk, taking a chance, and saying yes to something, getting comfortable being uncomfortable, or getting uncomfortable being comfortable, until you can get to a point where doing what once was uncomfortable starts to begin to be comfortable.
Guys, everything in life is like that. This is not anything new. I'm just here to say something to you that's going to help hit you maybe a little bit from right field and say, you know what? That son of a gun, ex-homeless construction guy, that damn guy is right.
I do need to take a risk. I do need to get comfortable being uncomfortable. I do need to create my own story. I do need to stand up and say enough is enough. I'm doing what it takes, and I'll be there.
That's what this industry is about. That's what life is about, and I'm going to tell you something, it goes fast. And you've only got one shot to live it. And doing this kind of stuff in your life is the memories, the things that you'll talk about for months, years, and decades to come. This is not just about your business.
This is not just about your finances. This is about you. This is about your life. This is about you stepping out on a ledge and starting to live your dreams and not having regrets because at the end of our lives, we all have the same questions that we ask. Did I live my life to its fullest potential?
Did I take advantage? Did I take advantage of opportunities when they were at my doorstep knocking down my window, breaking the glass to get in, telling me, David, go to Costa Rica, or say yes, or do whatever it takes to make it happen? Guys, we're all here with the same opportunity. Why do some people finish faster than others? Why do people make more money than others?
Why do people live in bigger houses or drive faster cars? It's simple. It's because they do more. They say yes more instead of no. They say, how much will it make me instead of how much will it cost?
They say, the only place for me to be is uncomfortable because I know as soon as I'm comfortable, I will begin to get complacent, and being complacent is where I'm in the danger zone, and that goes for not only your business life but your personal life, too. I always make sure that I surround myself with people and in situations that are pushing me to be the absolute best David that I can be. Why? Because I learned very, very hard, banging my head against the wall, that the way to the top is to stand up and walk up there, not be carried, not get handouts, but to do it.
Why? Why? When I walk to the top of the mountain, it feels that much better than if somebody carried me there. I can look somebody in the eyes and say, yes, I did that. It feels good.
So should you. The conviction and the confidence in my eyes, it's hard for people to say no to that. Why do I always make sure that I have that conviction? Because I always make sure that I do what it takes to remain that confidence, and that takes work. That takes saying yes.
That takes going places. When people call, I go. When opportunity is at my door, I open. And if I see opportunity and I can't get there, I find a way. I build my own bridge to go.
I do whatever it takes to make things happen. Folks, my hope for you is that starting today, tonight, right here, this Monday night, that you never settle for less again, that you do every single thing that you can possibly do to live the absolute best life that you can possibly live and live up to your full potential. I hope for you, my wish, my absolute desire for you is that you stand up and say, I'm going to take the worst things in my life and turn them into the greatest assets. I'm going to stop making excuses, and I'm going to start making decisions. I'm going to take responsibility for my life and realize that if I'm failing, it's my fault, and it's my responsibility to get myself up and on the road to success.
Guys, my hope for you is that you stand up and you stop being a damn wussy and you say, today, today is it. I'm crossing over today, and I am going to do whatever I want to do because I've got to tell you, friends, I have got to tell you, and I'm talking strong because I believe in what I'm saying, is that these days, guys, I won't settle for less. These days, if somebody steps to me with some bullshit and I feel that it's not right for me, I say, that's bullshit.
It's not right for me, and I'm not going to settle for it. These days, today, maybe not two years ago, maybe not even in some cases 18 months ago or 12 months ago, but today, I know what I'm worth. I know that if I want something, I can get it. I know if I want something standing in my way, I can move it, and I may not be able to do it alone, but I can do it with a group of people who are around me to support me.
I know that there is nothing that I cannot do with the help of a few friends. I know that what we've created here at Empower Network is the best thing that this industry has ever seen. I know that people are having more fun here than they've ever had in their entire life. I know that people are making more money in Empower Network than any other sales company that I've ever seen. I know that people are having breakthroughs.
They're doing big. They're doing things where they're looking at their kids and their wives and their husbands a little bit different. I know that what we're doing right here is making a damn difference, and I'm proud of it, and we're just getting started. Guys, those of you who say, yes, I'm going to be in Costa Rica and be able to experience our passion and our ideas and what we've done to come from the bottom to go to the top, guys, we're here for a reason, and it's not by mistake. It's because we know what we're doing, and we're here to inspire and push you over the line.
What we're doing here is for the cause. It's by the people, and it's that way for a reason. We're going to keep it that way, because when we got started, a lot of people doubted us. A lot of people said, they ain't going to make it. That company ain't going to be shit.
They're going to be down. They're going to quit on their people, and we didn't do any of that. We're still here. Why? Because we believe in our dreams, and we believe that you have a right to live your dreams too.
Guys, we're here for a reason. This is not a mistake, and now we've got the evidence to prove it. Now is the time to say yes, to get on board. Get on this bandwagon, baby, because it's going, and it ain't coming back, and if you ain't with us, you better get out of our way, because we're on fire, and we ain't turning back because it's too late. We're going there, guys, and my hope is that I see you guys on the beaches of the world.
I'll see you guys in Costa Rica. Love you guys. Woo! Good stuff, man.
Good stuff, man. Good stuff. Wild.
