All right, hey folks, this is Dave Wood talking to you from Costa Rica with a badass inner circle interview here. Now, I got a guy that I actually didn't know until about five minutes ago. I saw him on the leaderboards, and this is usually how these go, by the way, when I'm connecting. And so I got to give him a call and connect, and this is how I met Chuck. So Chuck, actually, you'll see him on the leaderboards as Charles Marshall.

Charles Marshall goes by Chuck, and he's been a marketer online for, I guess, a few years. And we got a chance to connect and thought his strategies were kind of interesting. So what I'm going to do is ask him a little bit about himself and ask him to share some of the things that he's been doing. He does know a lot because he's been online for a long time and makes money in a lot of other things other than Empower Network. And so it's a valuable perspective to add from your business.

So that being said, Chuck, great to have you on. And why don't we just start? Maybe you could tell people a little bit about yourself, why you got into Empower Network, what you see in this for your list and your people because you've already got a list, and maybe share why you got in and then what's happened since you got in. Is that a good place to start? Yeah, yeah, sure, absolutely.

Well, I'm Chuck Marshall. I live here in the states up in the Pacific Northwest in Washington, and I've been working online at home doing the home-based business affiliate marketing, network marketing thing full-time for a little over six years now. Yeah. And I got started with Empower Network because, man, I really — for a lot of the people that I work with who needed something in this price range and a lot of the stuff you guys offer is a lot of high value. I can tell you I never had a blog before until I got one through Empower Network because I was so intimidated by that and trying to set one up and all that stuff.

But when I saw I could get one for $25 and I knew a lot of my people on my list and stuff would really like that as well. And I have some of my own sales funnels outside of Empower Network. I have a network that I use to kind of drive nice targeted traffic into Empower Network. And so it's just all together I thought I'd test it out when I first came in, and now, of course, you can see my results. It's gone crazy, and I'm really glad to be a part of it and happy to share it with as many people as I can and help as many people as I can earn money with Empower Network as well.

Well, awesome, man. It's good to have you on here. And a couple of things that I wanted to kind of dig into a little bit from our conversation we had a minute ago. I should have recorded that too. So I think it could actually be $20,000.

But I don't know that you've really done anything different, but you've been really consistent here, just kind of sent people over. But what have you — for you, okay, I mean how does this — how is Empower Network really different or how has it been different from some of your other experiences in selling all the different affiliate marketing things that you've sold out there in the marketplace? How has this experience been a little bit different for you? Well, I mean like we were talking about earlier, the biggest difference for me is how active and upfront you and Dave Sharp are with everything that's involved in Empower Network. I mean I don't know.

I don't really see that from everybody else. Everybody else is behind the curtain, and you guys are upfront and tackling issues and making things better for everybody. And for me, I'm a big offline guy, which might sound weird because today everything is the internet and text messages and Facebook and Twitter and all that. I'm a big offline marketer, and I drive a lot of traffic, just hordes of traffic to my outside sales funnels, and I show them Empower as part of that presentation. And they just love it. And I get a lot of positive feedback from it.

And obviously, as you can see, the results I've been having with it income-wise is a reflection of that. So I would consider the entry points and the power to be like a low ticket front end, what would be considered probably like a funded proposal for some people to bring people into other programs. But for me, I'm using it to build up a residual income with it off one of my other front end sales funnels. And it's going really, really well, and a lot of people really like it. And that's how I'm able to keep having such consistent results.

I'm able to keep having consistent good months with it. And like you said, this month is going to be my best month ever, and I'm really happy to be a part of it because it's easy for people to plug into and easy for them to duplicate it, and I'm happy to help as many people as I can do that. Well, absolutely, and you're doing a great job by the way, and it's good to see. Yeah. And so let's dig into a couple of strategy things.

Sure. Because you do things obviously a little bit different. Now, some of the things you do are going to be a little bit more outside of the range of a lot of the people in Power, but there's also a lot of people that can relate to them. So I think it's important in the inner circle to cover everything. Sure.

But first let's start with some of the things that are doable. Like you mentioned doing things like you do a lot of offline advertising. You post ads in places, and I think you said you do newspapers, magazines, things like this. I don't really understand that world. So it's actually a great place to talk.

Because I can learn and take notes. What kind of ads do you do? I mean where do you advertise? What are some of your things that you do? Sure.

Absolutely. Well, right now there is between 12 and 15 different offline publications that are geared towards people who are interested in home-based business, work from home, starting a business, and things like that. And there's other things in there besides home-based businesses. There's things that people can start, their own shaved ice stand or concrete curbing thing if they want. Or clean carpets.

I mean these magazines have anything from starting brick and mortar businesses to working at home. But these publications are geared towards people that are looking to make some extra money from home some way or make some extra money doing their own thing one way or the other. And a lot of the — I mean if that will help people, I can give you names of publications. Well, yeah, yeah, sure. Let's shoot some out there.

Now also let's give a few and then talk about how to connect with something like this and how to get on the phone with somebody that can place an ad. Yeah. Maybe talk about some strategies for getting cheaper ads. Maybe you know how to do things like this. Well, yeah, I know because I started doing this type of marketing with a couple hundred bucks.

So you don't have to have thousands of dollars to do the type of marketing I do. It can cost that much, but you don't have to have that much. So the best publications that have had the best response for me are a magazine called Home Business Connections. And then the other one, there's another publisher that has a magazine called Start Your Own Business. And then there's a sister publication to that magazine called Small Business Opportunities.

Those are like my top three. And then there's some other smaller ones that have smaller circulation, but they're also a lot cheaper too, which is nice. And there's Home Business Advertiser. There's another cool actual — it's like a newspaper that you can subscribe to called Network Marketing Business Journal. And I mean what is that?

Like four or five right there I just named off. I can — whenever you — in any part of this conversation, I'll give you the website where you can go and check out all of them and circulation rates and costs. And one of the brokers I could share actually has ad package prices that if you place X amount of ads, it will give you one bundle price. It will go out in like four or five of these publications at once. And if you renew that subscription for the next go-around, because a lot of these publications run for 30 or 60 days at a time, which is nice because you can get traffic and leads coming in.

You pay one time, and you're going to get two months' worth of leads, which is great. But on one of the brokers I work with, when you renew a package, it's like half the price as your original purchase price. So you're getting like 40% to 50% off for renewing it again. And that's how I got started. Because when I first got started in placing those ads and how I was taught and mentored, I only had a couple hundred bucks to work with.

So I remember I placed a little three-inch display ad. And it got me. Yeah. Yeah. It cost me about 300 bucks I think.

But if anybody doesn't even have that much, you can do smaller ads for like 100 bucks, one-inch ads, or you can do classified. So you don't have to have a lot of money to do the type of marketing I do. It's just the way I was taught and trained, just like how some people listening to this might have been taught and trained how to do stuff on the internet. Well, me, I was offline. That's how I got my start and everything.

And that's how I get a lot of my traffic to my sales funnel that I use to help bring people into Empower. And it just — people just — they love it. They go for it. That's how I do what I do. That's how I'm always on the leaderboard and getting people in and sharing this with folks and having them get signed up.

So I get a lot of roll-up sales and stuff too and pass-ups from teaching people how to do what I do because that's how we all benefit. We work together. I have no reason to hold it back. I want all my teammates to duplicate and make sales and sign people up because the way the compensation plan works, we all benefit from that too. Well, yeah, yeah.

There's just some other benefits. And you know what I'd really like to do actually just talking to this is I'd like to get you on a bonus webinar to put in the 15K per month formula product because I think a lot of this stuff — could you put together a strategy like how to place ads, how to make headlines, what kind of pages to make them go to, things like this. And then we could do a bonus webinar because that would be really appropriate for that product just because of the other content in there. And we could put that in there.

And then I got some questions. Why not? I'll ask you on the rest of this. But could we do that sometime? Could we schedule something like that?

Yeah. Yeah. I can fit that in. That stuff is second nature to me. It's just putting it down on paper.

Yeah, I could do that though. That's no problem. No, that would be great. So we'll do that and then let's just talk about some strategy. There's a couple of questions that I've got that have been fascinating because of course I haven't done a lot of advertising like this and I focus mostly on content, social media, and things like that.

So it's different finding what other people are doing. But I'll give you an example. I went into a co-op once that put an ad into Home Business Connection, which you said is one of your favorite magazines. Well, that was one of the most atrocious wastes of money that I've ever had in my life. So obviously there's something different that you do than what other people do.

And we could go into visuals and stuff when we do that bonus webinar. But what's some of the biggest mistakes that people make? Because I obviously made a mistake going into that stupid co-op. I think it was like $80 leads is what it was. I wasn't doing the marketing.

Yes. They were doing the marketing. They were doing the dollar leads. They converted like the worst converting leads I've ever gotten in my life. Broke people that lived in trash cans calling Home Business Connection magazine that they found by the trash can, things like that.

So how have you done it and what are some mistakes other people make that make it to where your strategies have worked a little bit better for you? Well, it's kind of — I don't want to put down — well, one of the biggest mistakes with Home Business Connection is participating in a co-op that they run. That's what I've learned.

Never again. Yeah, when they run the co-op and they make the ad copy and they split the leads up. Yeah, I mean I guess you can't help sometimes — I don't get everybody. I get some leads that are not high quality too. But like I said, my front end sales funnel I was explaining to you earlier, everybody can do that. So even if the guy does live in a trash can or something.

Yeah. Everybody can afford my front end. Everybody can participate in my front end sales funnel. So even at Home Business Connection, small business opportunities, anywhere I send the leads to — and I've kind of learned, and again, that's what we can cover in that little extra webinar you want to do. But my ad copy and stuff, I've learned how to put together some attractive copy that can pull. Something like this, you don't have to have a lot of money in the first place to do it, but I get a lot of people in my front end sales funnel.

And as soon as I get them just to watch the intro video with Empower, you guys do the rest, like with the upsell conversion to Inner Circle and then to the Costa Rica package and all that stuff. So once I get them there, then the Empower system does the rest for me. I just get lots of people to it. Right.

So using these — because Home Business Connections, they get a lot of readers. But I wouldn't advertise a high-ticket program or something in Home Business Connection before what I'm doing here with Empower. But with Empower and my other sales funnel, Home Business Connection is a great place to go for that because there's tons of people that get that or subscribe to it. Usually the readership is like three times the circulation. So for every one magazine that goes out, there's like three sets of eyeballs that will look at that one copy on average.

So that goes with most print — newspapers and usually the readership is going to be like two to three times the circulation. So yeah. In Home Business Connection, they've got a pretty decent size circulation, and it's a direct mail publication. So people don't have to go — they don't pick it up in the stand. It's mailed out to a list of people that — wherever they get their list from, if they build it themselves or however they do that.

But that's a direct mail publication, which is different in some ways, not as good as the small business opportunities and start-your-own-business publications. And when you go to any drugstore, airport, Walgreens, CVS, pharmacy, whatever people have in whatever part of the country or whatever part of the world they live in — and wherever there's a magazine rack, you can usually see start-your-own-business, small business opportunities. And that's a magazine that people have to pick up off the rack, buy, or they thumb through it there at the stand or whatever.

But most of the time, people pick it up, buy it. They thumb through it. They see the ad. That's usually — and they respond to it after everything. That's a pretty highly qualified and targeted prospect for — so that's how I've learned how to market.

And that's how I share how to do that with everybody that I work with. That stuff is great, man. It really is. It shows people know what they're doing and people don't. I was approached by a company.

I was actually making a lot — I still make a lot of money with this company. But they were like, hey, let's go into this Home Business Connection thing. And the lady got me on an interview, did a horrible job writing out the description of what we talked about. I mean just butchered my interview. I told her all this bad-ass stuff, and she just tore it to pieces.

Yeah. I know. And we sent it out. It was $80 leads. I was like, yeah, never going into a co-op.

But that makes a lot of sense because I write my own copy for the internet, and it converts, and other people's stuff doesn't convert so well. So that makes a lot of sense to me. So you get leads. Obviously, you're using this as a lead generation funnel. Now, when you get people in Empower Network, do you do anything, or do you just let the system do it for you?

Are you talking to them? Are you connecting with anybody? I'm just curious because people have different strategies here. Yeah, no. What I do — when people come in and they have questions.

I make myself available. I do this full time. I make myself available essentially seven days a week, and I tell people, introduce myself, and they know who I am too because they found me through my sales funnel or they can see in their back office that I'm their sponsor. But I will connect with them and just say, if you need anything at all, let me know, and then a lot of times they see me on the leaderboard and ask me, how are you doing, what are you doing? And I explain to them exactly how I do it, and I say this is all I do.

I funnel — I send people in through my sales funnel. They go through this, and then they go through that. They go through this, and then they sign up with Empower on the back. Not everybody does obviously, but a lot of people do, which is how I stay up on the leaderboards and help other people make sales with it as well. So I keep it real simple.

I don't get real complicated with it, and I do make myself available for support. That's how I built up my business. I want to make sure that I'm networking with people and helping them out and building a relationship with them that can last for a long time. So I don't care. It's not just like each person is worth $25 or $100 or $500.

If I can work with them and they like working with me in this, the chances are when networking, they might consider working with me in something else sometime down the road or whatever. But that's how I treat everybody fair and try to be there to answer people's questions, whether by email or cell phone or whatever they need. But I don't have my own little — I let you guys — a lot of this — your training and stuff is so awesome. All the stuff you're always real active with sending out new email, swipe copy, and new stuff. Yeah.

And new updates and live streams and the Ustream stuff all the time. So you guys do a lot of the support and what I would say is the heavy lifting and stuff for me and for us. So I use that a lot. But if anybody asks me and needs anything of me anytime, I tell them I'm available and you can get a hold of me anytime. So I do offer my own support and stuff.

But one thing I really like about Empower is you guys offer a lot of it too on your end of it. So it makes it real helpful for people like me that are constantly working and helping bring people in. Well, yeah, absolutely. And that's one of our goals that we created the organization to do, is to be a support organization both for people that are just building a business here like yourself and also people that are using it as a funded proposal, as a front end. Because what I found is actually really different, and I wasn't intending this entirely when I launched the company.

What I found is fascinating in the sense a lot of people are using Empower as a funded proposal or a front end. And a lot of other people are actually building it as their primary business, as their business. It's like what they're focusing on. And so if we have the training and the culture that's here to support the infrastructure, the amount of people they're in, that makes just all of our lives a little easier as the people that are out there selling and being affiliates and things like that. So, no, I appreciate the insights, man.

And one thing I wanted to point out for the listeners, the inner circle here, is something that you do that's really common, is that leaders tend to make themselves open like that. Yeah. For communication in the sense that if somebody is in their organization, they're working, they'll talk to them. And what I found interesting about you though is that you have a schedule, because I remember I hit you up the other day, and it was outside your schedule. And then we connected today, and it was outside your schedule, and then we connected again because you could do it then.

So you don't make yourself available 24 hours a day. You have set times. Yeah. Why do you do that? Why don't you talk a little bit about that for people?

Well, because I'm married. Actually, on St. Patty's Day here on the 17th, it will be seven years that I've been married, and I've got two little kids. And the reason why I do all this stuff is the money is nice, and it provides freedom. I want to be here for my kids and my family.

That's why I do it. It's not so I can live in a mansion and have — material things are fun and stuff to have, but the time, no matter how much money you make, you can never get time back. So I do this stuff, and I'm here working from home and helping other people so I can be here with my family. So what I do is in the morning, I get my kids to school, and I usually go to the gym for an hour and a half, and then I come back home.

It's about 10 a.m. my time, and I'll start working and answering calls and emails and stuff. And then when my kids come home from school, then we got to do the homework where they do — my son does martial arts, and my other son does T-ball and baseball. And so we're always doing some sort of sporting events or something like that, and so we do that with them. And I never miss a game.

I never miss any kind of martial arts event. I've never missed a tournament. All that stuff I get to participate in because I don't have to work a job. But I do that stuff with my family, and then I take calls and answer emails and stuff during certain hours of the day, which is a big time chunk.

I'm available from like usually 10 a.m. Pacific time up until like 5 or 6 p.m. Pacific, and then get my kids to bed. And then if I need to do something afterwards, I can do it later in the evening. But I do make myself available.

Essentially like seven days a week for people too. It's just when I'm with my family, I'm there to be here with them. So that's what — No, no. That makes a lot of sense, and I think there's a lot of people that could learn a lot from that. And just having some space where you just say, hey, it's off.

Like whenever I go on a cruise or a vacation or something, just the computer just goes off. The phone is off. Yeah, I mean — And that's actually why I don't have a cell phone. This is why. It's because I just get hammered.

Well, yeah. So I have a Skype phone, and I answer calls. And then whenever I go on a vacation, I don't answer calls. Yeah. And then when I'm done, nobody can get a hold of me, and it's wonderful.

Yeah. You got to do it. Otherwise it's like you're — yeah, you're making a lot of money, but you're working at a corporate job 16 hours a day. There was little freedom there. So it's like — I just do it because — like I said, I started all this because my whole motivation getting into this industry at all was because when my wife called me up one day when I was at work, when I used to work a job.

She said, oh, I'm pregnant. We're pregnant. And I was like, holy crap. For me, all I had to do was take care of myself. And then when I realized I was pregnant.

Yeah. I was going to be taking care of a little one and needed diapers and food and toys and things like that. Then that's when I kind of kicked my butt in gear. I changed my mindset and got into the — my failure wasn't an option. I had to make it work, and so that's when we got started in the whole industry.

This was like back six years ago now, and it's just — the rest is just kind of history. Each year has been a step-by-step process, and we have spent money on some things. We bought my wife a new Escalade and all that kind of stuff and bought a new home and things like that. But I got past that phase of people saying they want to get in the industry and make money and stuff. I want to buy a BMW, and I want to buy jewelry and all that.

But I got past that kind of phase. Now I'm realizing what's important for me is being here with my family. So like I said, no matter how much money you make, you're never going to get time back. No matter how rich you are, you can't buy any more time. So I feel like I have a good balance of working for myself, making great money, helping other people, and being here with my family all the time, which is what I do.

All the time, which is what I want to have. That's great, man. It's good to hear stories like this. Now there's always a point of struggle. There's always things that we all do differently, and then we make a decision.

We change a little bit, and things happen for us. But for you, what would you say would be the biggest breakthrough that you had? It could have been years ago, but that helped you. You talked a little bit about it, but in marketing, in how to do it, in how to get people to do stuff or how to build an organization. Yeah.

What's the biggest breakthrough that you've had that's allowed you to consistently for years now, just consistently month after month after month produce the results that you need for your family? Well, for me, after four years before — like I said, I've been doing this successfully for six years. I spent four years before that floundering around. I'm 30 years old now, so I started doing this stuff successfully back when I was 23, 24. From the time I was like 19 to 22, 23, that's the time I was trying all these things.

And what made the biggest difference for me was actually getting a leader, a person that would mentor me, show me what it really takes to make money. I don't know how affiliate marketing, direct sales, whatever you want to call our industry here — I mean just having a system that's easy for the average person to plug into and duplicate so they don't have to do the selling and telling and what I would call the grunt work. Most people are scared to death of doing that stuff. They wouldn't be able to duplicate it.

So when you have a system they can plug into and it does all that, like what you guys — you and Dave Sharp created with Empower, and then you match that with the right type of marketing, a marketing vehicle that will drive traffic to that funnel or to that system, the end result is going to be sales and money for you. And when I learned that and then I started implementing it, it was on a smaller scale. Like I was saying, I didn't have a whole lot of money to play around with when I got started. When I implemented that and I started making a little bit of money, I remember the first thing I could do was buy a new lawnmower because I needed one. I had this old piece of junk push lawnmower that my in-laws gave me and stuff.

I was like, I made some money. I could buy a lawnmower. Then I was able to pay off a credit card. Then I was able to buy a new truck that I needed because I was driving a little Honda Civic. So my breakthrough was somebody actually taking the time to teach me.

After four years of spending money and broken promises and people telling me what I wanted to hear until they got my money, then they were too busy for me. I finally had somebody that would actually take the time to show me what it took, which is a system people can plug into and duplicate like we have with Empower, and then the right type of advertising to get people to that system. So I do my best to be that guy, that mentor for people who work with me now. You guys have the system.

I show people how I do the marketing to get people to the system, and that's how I am where I am now. I apply that with everything else I do, not just Empower, but it works really well with Empower too because it's a price point that's attractive to a lot of people. A lot of people can afford it once they get in. It's duplicated. They see the value, and that's just how I built it up because it's been — how many months now since you guys launched?

I've been in since the middle of November. So three and a half months for me, I think I've been in. Four and a half total. Yeah, four and a half. Oh, okay.

Okay, four. So every month has just been consistent for me, and this month is actually going to be my best so far. Yeah. And like I was saying, the thing that — back when I had my breakthrough in the industry, it was just a system that's easy for an average person to plug into and duplicate that does what I call the grunt work for them, the selling and telling, and answers questions and handles the objections and all that. It does all that for you, and then the marketing to get people to that sales presentation or that sales funnel or whatever. That, for me, was the key. That's how I teach people.

Like I said, you guys provide it with Empower. I just show people how I do my marketing, like we explained here with my offline stuff and my other sales funnels, to get people into Empower. And the end result is sales and making an income with Empower. That's how I've done it. That's how I do my best to teach that and share that with everybody I work with.

I don't hide anything. Like I said, I want them to duplicate and make money because we're all going to benefit from it. So that's how I teach people. Well, absolutely, and there's a couple of things that I wanted to point out just because some people who are newer won't really understand the depth of some of the concepts that you just covered. And I do, just because I've struggled, because I've been in the same situation that you were in.

And real quick, I just want to — for everybody listening to this, I want to share some insights that will help you understand the Empower Network system. And then what I want to do, Chuck, is I want to come back to what you do with your new people and how you talk to them and what you say to them and some strategies that you have for maybe doing some upsells and things like this. And then we'll kind of come full circle and we'll probably close the interview off then because we don't want to go on forever and ever. And I could probably just pick your brain honestly for four hours. So a couple of things just for people to —

So one of the things that I wanted to understand is there's a difference between what we're doing here at Empower Network and attraction marketing. And attraction marketing, or the general concept, is that you brand yourself, be the guru, be the front end, be the message. And the reality is that doesn't duplicate. Nobody could do it but a few people who have all day and night to spend time making videos and making audios and doing the things that Chuck and I do. And the reality is that everyone else suffers, everyone, because they're trying to do something that they don't have time for, don't have the skill for, don't have the knowledge for.

And so here at Empower, the goal is get leads into the front end of the funnel, let the system do the conversions, and then connect with your people and help plug them in. And some ways I've done that, I think that you probably do too. I'm actually curious about this, how you do it, because what I do to plug people into a system is I don't answer a lot of questions. I'll connect with people, but what I like to do, for example, is if somebody calls me and they're like, hey, how do I do ads, rather than answering the question, what I actually like to do is, for example, your bonus. Now I'm curious.

I actually want to know how to make these ads in the magazines. So what I'll do after I watch the webinar, I'll probably watch it like six times and then try to place some ads and fumble around a bit and make some mistakes because I'm fascinated. I'm all giddy like a child, right? But then what I'll do is when somebody comes and they say, hey, Dave, how do you do this? Rather than trying to be the message, what I'll say is, I'm not the best there is in Empower.

The best person we got in Empower is Chuck Marshall. And, in fact, he did a webinar. He's been doing this for seven years. I've only been doing it for like two months.

So you'd probably rather listen to somebody who's been doing it for seven years. Do you have the 15K per month formula? And if they say no, then I'll say, well, then what we need to do next is get you upgraded because there's a webinar in there. There's a bonus webinar where Chuck Marshall goes over his strategy that he's been using successfully for seven years to consistently month in, month out, part time with a family, produce results using ads. Are you in front of your computer right now?

And they'll say, well, yeah. And I'll say, well, then let me help you get started in the 15K per month formula. Let's get you in that and I'll actually show you exactly which webinar to watch. Then why don't you watch that and we'll pop back on the phone and I'll answer some of your questions. Is that okay?

So then I make money saving myself time not having to be the message, and that's how to use systems. Whereas most people, they would watch the webinar and then they spend like six hours on the phone trying to explain what's in an hour in the webinar that you had been doing for six years, that they just watched a webinar. You know what I'm saying? So that's how you use a system. I'm actually curious as to what you do because that's kind of like what I do.

What do you do when you talk to your members? How do you use systems to help people and to save yourself time? Well, I use exactly like what you had said. I use webinar videos. I'm sure you're familiar with Camtasia or screen recording software to put together little mini presentations.

And when people ask me stuff exactly like what you said, I will say, well, here's a video that will show you how I do it step by step. Or here's a video where you can go to learn how I do it step by step. And then if they come back and say, okay, now where do I go to do this or how do I do this, then that's when I will present them with an upsell like you just said.

And the way you do it though is actually really good. I think I just learned something from you right there. The way you do it is really good. I actually haven't done it like that. But I use webinars.

I record videos and put them out and just — I have videos I use for a lot of that because I don't have the time probably to answer 20 questions for every person. It's impossible. So I try to streamline that as much as I can. So I will put videos and webinar things together and send people that.

I will send them there. And then if they buy the upsell product from there, that's how — one of the strategies I use is kind of similar to what you do. But the way you do it I think is a little bit smoother than how I do it. So I think I might try that myself as a matter of fact. Well, you're always learning.

And I always pick up — like I just picked up today why I wasted $5,000 on getting like 10 leads from a magazine when I probably could have gotten a lot of leads. So now I'm excited to go try again and to waste some more money. Probably making some mistakes until I figure it out. But we're always learning.

This is a process of evolution. Actually one of the reasons why I like connecting with the leaders here at Empower is because it's a mutual thing. I always get something. They always get something too. And so I just got something valuable off of listening to what you do.

But so you connect with people and you do your own webinars. Now here's another strategy that I've used. This will help a lot of people out, especially a lot of leaders, because most people, this is what they do. They come in and they've got this idea like, oh, I want to help everybody. I want to help everybody.

They have a superhero complex. They got the tights. They got the skin-tight clothing. And they want to fly from city to city saving maidens from burning buildings and floating away into the sunlight. It's what they want to do with everybody in there.

They want to save their downline. They want to be a combination of superheroes. They want to be a combination of Superman, Batman, Jesus of Nazareth. They put the dark suit on at night and then Superman during the day and then on Sunday they're Jesus. But they want to save everybody.

And so the reality is that when the numbers get too big and you need big numbers to get the results that you want, you cannot spend the time doing this individually with everyone unless there's some sort of financial thing attached to it, because obviously we all have families. And you got to ask yourself the question. You got to ask yourself, if I had 1,000 people sponsored by me, would I want to be answering this question for all of my people? And if the answer is God no, which is what the answer is going to be, then you got to give your leaders some slack too. And you got to understand that we all have to go into systems.

You wouldn't have time to talk to me every single day just like I wouldn't have time to talk to you every single day. Right. It's just not how it is. And so the way that we get around that is through systems. And so a couple of things that will help everybody on the call is, for example, we talked about groups in the previous interview in the Inner Circle.

And everybody should listen to that and form a Facebook group, because what happens is you get a bunch of leaders in there and you make rules and you say, all right guys, help each other. And then you're there a lot of the day answering questions while you're having conversations, and the Facebook messages and the emails are coming through. But then you leave and the leaders set everybody straight. And they help everybody and they point people to the resources. And rather than answering a question that's answered in one of our trainings, direct somebody toward the training.

And rather than doing things individually, do them in groups unless somebody is a leader. And what I like to do actually is a little different. What I like to do is I only work with people in groups except for when we're bringing them through a process. And if they call me and they say, hey, David, how do I do this? What I'll say is, that's a great question and I think that question would benefit everybody in Empower Network.

Would you be okay actually coming out on one of the Monday calls and asking that question? Because if I can get you out and you ask that question and I answer it, there's probably 500 other people who have that question too. And then we could record it. We can put it in the members area and nobody ever has to answer it again. Could you save that question for a day or two?

Is that okay? Yeah. And I'll save myself an hour and a half. And then 1,000 hours asking it next year, and then we're free to market, right? So, no, a lot of people don't get what you just said.

And so I just rambled a bit, elaborated a bit. But I think that what you're saying is right. Yeah. And what you're doing is really cool. So talk to me about how you talk to people and what you say to upsell people, because I know that you do it.

You've been in the game a little while. So how do you get people to upsell, to buy more stuff? What do you do? Well, I actually just show my proof. One of the videos that I do, one of my little webinar videos I did with the screen recording software.

As part of the presentation process through my funnel, I show the actual numbers. The documentation beats conversation. It's kind of a little slogan that I'm sure you've used before. And when people — I show people, this is what I've done in basic membership, in the Inner Circle, and then 15K a month and Costa Rica package.

And I show the upsell percentage, which, for me, in my personal results from basic membership to Inner Circle just by itself, is like a 55% to 56% penetration on the upsell. So for every 10 people that do the basic membership, I'm getting like five to six people that are upgrading to the Inner Circle as well. And so I show people that proof.

It's not just me telling them that. I'm saying, look, this is the numbers. It's right here. You can see this. And this is all through Empower Network and the way they do it.

So if you don't want to do this, that's okay. But if you don't — all these sales for Inner Circle and so on, they're going to come up. They're going to pass you and come to me. I said, I wouldn't mind that. But I'm sure that once you see a couple of those emails come from Dave Wood and Dave Sharp saying, sorry, you just lost the commission, I'm sure you're going to want to upgrade. I said, one of the perfect examples I had is I did a video for this.

I sent it out to my list. It kind of sucked, but it was funny at the same time. It was after Thanksgiving last year. I was out getting a Christmas tree.

My family would like to go out and cut one down. Well, I hadn't actually bought the Costa Rica package yet at that time. While I was out cutting down that Christmas tree with my family, I lost $1,000 because I hesitated on upgrading, on buying the Costa Rica package. So I was out cutting down a tree. I had my phone with me.

I get all my emails on there. I got one of those emails from me. It said, you just lost $500. And I said, what is this? I thought it was just something to get me to open the email.

I opened it up. It was this guy bought the Costa Rica package. And I said, what? I said, oh, it's got to be a fluke. And on the way home, I get another freaking one.

I lost $1,000. I did a video. I said, this is my Christmas tree. I hope you like it. It cost me $1,000.

I'm sure you know, like a fear of loss kind of thing — like, if you don't want to do this, it's okay. I'm not going to push you into it. But if you don't — and a takeaway a little bit. If you don't, this is what can happen. This is what happened to me.

I lost a grand because I hesitated. I lost $1,000. Same with the Inner Circle upgrade. 55% to 56% of my basic membership folks are buying into the Inner Circle training. So if you don't want to do it now, that's fine.

But when you buy into the Inner Circle, your income increases like five times. If you don't do it, all those sales are going to come up to me. And then I think too, as I say, you just need one — when you get one person in, it pays for itself. Everything else you make after that is profit minus your roll-ups to your sponsor.

Yeah. And people just say, okay, okay. And they get that. And I don't do this manually with every single person like we were just talking about. I have all this in a video.

Well, no, that's brilliant because this is another system. Yeah. This is another systems thing. It's like, how can you automate what you're doing all the time? And what I found — I cut you off there.

But I want to just say this and then we'll get back to whatever it is that you're saying. I had a big breakthrough with this with video and with audios. Because what I found is that everybody has the same questions. There's like five of them that they've got. And they've got the same concerns and the same aspirations generally that they want, and the things they say are the same all the time.

Like if you ask 100 people how much money they want to make, what do 90 of them say? You know what I'm saying? It's what they all say. So you can put what you say all the time in a video and it never comes up. Now, I learned something.

This will help people who are listening to this because everybody does this. And then we're going to turn back over to whatever you were saying. But in the beginning, I had a superhero. I was putting the tights on and then I was putting the Batman suit on.

And then I was trying to be Jesus too. So I was out there trying to save everybody in my business. And one of the things I was trying to do was help everybody with technical support. I was helping them try to set everything up. If they had a tech question, I was there.

If they had a sponsoring question, I was there. Now, I was bringing a lot of people because I was saying, hey, you get in, I'll do everything for you. Hold your hand. Touch your butt.

And then what happened was I sponsored like 100 people. And my life was the worst life ever. Just calls from the morning until the evening. And I was like, this is not the dream.

And so what I did was I changed my message. And what I did was I said, look, here's the deal. I'm never going to help you with technical support. I won't hold your hand. I won't walk side by side with you through any of this because here's the truth.

What I'm going to do for you is much better. Here's what you're going to learn if you're around this game for a long time. This is how I frame my videos and things. I said, if you're around this game for a long time, you're going to learn that everybody who's making money doesn't have time to spend with you unless you're out there working your butt off. And you're going to find that none of these people know anything about technical support either.

They don't know nothing. So if I help you with technical support, what do you got to do? You got to help your team with technical support. If you help them with technical support, they're going to feel like they're going to be busy all day and they're not going to want to join anyway. So I don't want to harm you by doing something for you that you can hire somebody in India to do for $2 an hour.

So if you join my team, I won't talk to you. I won't hold your hand. And I'll work with you when you're running. Is that fair? And everybody's like, ha!

So I just changed the message from I'm going to be a wussy and help you with everything to where I'll help you by being a leader that you can model. And then I'll have conversations with you and help you through the struggles. But I'm not going to be that guy that just does everything. And that's what I'm hearing, dude. You're brilliant, man.

You understand the game. So back to what you were saying, because I don't know if I cut you off or changed the direction of the conversation. But that was key for me. It was a real breakthrough for me. It's just good hearing it reflected in other people.

You know what I'm saying? Yeah. And I let people know too. It's like, look, by me putting these type of automated things in place, it's not because I'm trying to be impersonal or I don't want to talk to you over the phone. It's not anything like that.

But it's just that with as busy as you get with marketing and doing everything, you have to automate some of these processes so you can have time to do other things. So that's why I said — I tell people, well, here's a video to watch or here's a tutorial I put together. And I send them a link to watch the video. And most people, they understand and they like that. I guess there's always one or two people that just don't want to watch or do anything.

They just want to talk to you on the phone. They just want you to hold their hand. So sometimes I have to make an exception, I guess, for somebody like that, a person who needs that. But most of the time, I automate things. I automate the processes because just like you said, you don't have the time of day to help 100 people or 1,000 people.

It's just not there. So the automation of it is not to be impersonal or pass the buck, saying, oh, okay, we'll just go watch this video. We put this stuff together for a reason, and you can use this too for your team. Use this too for your team, because when it's a technical support question, like you said, I'm not a — I'm a marketer guy. I'm not a tech support guy.

I don't know how to do anything like that, so I tell people that too. We have a full service help desk, and just submit a support ticket and they'll help you out, because I don't have any pull or I don't know anything about that stuff. You just have to submit a support ticket, and I have to submit tickets too. I tell people I got to submit support tickets too whenever I have questions for tech support stuff, because I'm not a techie guy. I don't know how to do that kind of stuff, and that's not what we do.

So when you brought that up, I think that was a good segue, or at least a good thing to mention, because I do the same thing when it's tech support questions and this and that. I let people know. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to pass the buck on you. I just don't know how to solve the problem you have.

That's why we have the full help desk there. You submit a ticket, and the turnaround time is usually quick, and they'll get right back to you. Well, yeah, that's one of the things that I think is really key here within Power especially. It's actually one of the reasons why — well, there's a lot of reasons, but we just did this switch where we were getting everybody merchant accounts. And then we said, well, we'll let people do it if they have their own merchant account, but we can't make everybody get one because it was limited by country.

There's all sorts of problems. But the other thing was that we don't want people doing tech support. We'd rather have a support department. You know what I'm saying? So rather than trying to be the support department, you could say, hey, go to the support department.

So we just hired this company to answer phones and to do all this stuff that I don't want to do. I don't want to do, God. It's like, oh, God, just please don't make me do that. I'd clean toilets with a toothbrush before that.

So let's hire the tech support guys and let's pay them to do it so the leaders could be free to market. And that's the beauty. When you use systems and when you learn to use systems, you're free to market. And when you're free to market, you always make more money. Your income always goes up, and that's the beauty of doing things this way versus the grinder way. And the grinder way is the suit and the tights.

Jesus is Jesus. He's the only one. There's no other Batman but one. Nobody else is Superman and can shoot lasers through brick walls but Superman. So let them be the superheroes, and we can be free to market.

It's unbelievable. So great perspective on life and a great perspective for freedom, and a great perspective that this is what I always say. It comes back to what's your vision. And most people, it's funny, and this is a funny perspective too, most people don't get involved in anything. They don't get involved in network marketing to be a telemarketer.

You know what I'm saying? When they get involved with network marketing, they didn't read a job ad that said let me teach you to be a telemarketer. Then you get in the business, and everybody says pick up the phone and make dials, make 50 dials. That's a telemarketer job. And I heard something you said earlier that was really fascinating.

You didn't say, yeah, I sit down and I make cold calls all day. No, you said I sit there and I answer the phones and I get people into stuff. And that's what the dream is. I bet they leave you a message like they leave me. It's unbelievable, isn't it?

They call you and they're like, hello, is this Chuck? Chuck, this is Freddie. I was on your website. And I want to buy something from you and it's the $500 thing, and I'm just a little torn on whether or not I should buy it. Can you call and help me?

I'm trying to figure out how to put my credit card in. I keep getting this message. Can you come help me give you $500? I get messages like this all day. I'm like, well, yeah, as a matter of fact, I'd be happy to help you out.

But that's a different thing than — that's the dream, whereas people — you always got to tell people, look, don't ask for what you don't want. When you're asking your sponsor, when you're saying, hey, please give me tech support. Please hold my hand.

Please answer every phone call. You're asking for something you don't want, because what happens is if you do that to them, then you have to do that for your people. And if you have to do that for your people, you won't have what you want. So don't ask them to do something that you don't want. And I took that philosophy to heart, and I said, well, shoot, I'm hurting people by doing stuff for them, because then they're like the caterpillar that doesn't turn into a butterfly, because I open it up and try to help it out.

And because it didn't beat its wings against the cocoon there, it just falls to the ground dead because it can't fly. That's what you're doing to people when you hold their hand and you say, hey, not only can I hold your hand and walk through a field of flowers, but can I reach around and touch your butt a little bit too? That's what people do for their downlines. It's like — No, no, no. This is not what we want out of our lives.

And so, dude, you've got a great philosophy. And this is coming up to about 50 minutes. Let's see if we can schedule a bonus webinar because we're doing a lot of sales for the 15K per month formula. I actually want to give everybody a couple heads up on a couple of things. But before I do that, do you have any final thoughts on some insights and thoughts and stories or something that you think would really help people to just maybe increase their life just a little bit?

Do you have any thoughts, special insights for people who are listening to us? Well, man, there's probably several. For me, if you're — everybody who's listening to this, if you haven't got exactly where you want to be yet, don't quit and don't give up. Everything we have here with Empower Network is great. And no matter what else you might be doing, if anything else ever outside of this or anything else you might do, this stuff works.

It's just — like I said earlier, whenever I look at anything to market, if it has a system that's easy for a regular person to plug into — and I mean regular, like somebody who's not from working in the corporate world or is a marketing guru or sales guru or whatever, internet genius or something, just a regular person — if they can plug into and duplicate that, and I can show people how to market to get people to that system, you're going to be able to make money with it.

So like with Empower, we have that. It's a great setup and a great system. You, Dave, and Dave Sharp are great guys to be spearheading this whole thing we've got here. Just keep sticking with it and keep working it. And people like myself — like I was telling you earlier, Dave, anything I can do to be of help to anybody, because I feel like what I've got and what I've done has been a huge blessing for myself and my family. And I try to do the best I can to help as many other people as I can.

Yeah. And I can as well. So I guess that's probably one of the many things I could share as far as final thoughts I suppose. Great stuff, dude. And I'm honored to spend some time with you, and if there's anything I could ever do to help you out, that you see, if you've got a question about something I'm doing that's a little mysterious or whatever to you, I'm happy to help you out.

Although you've been doing this just as long as I have, so it tends to be more of a peer thing after a little while. But let me know, and I'm happy to help your team as well and connect with your leaders and things like that. And glad to have you on. A couple of announcements just for everybody who's listening to this.

Now, this doesn't apply obviously if you're listening to it and it's like a year later. But if you're listening to it right now, which is March 15th of 2012, a couple of things everybody needs to be aware of. We are in the middle of an affiliate competition. Chuck is actually up there. He's in the top three or something like this for this.

He's going to most likely win a trip out to Costa Rica to be featured in a high-ticket product that we're going to develop here at Empower. So it will be good to have him in that, and we'll put him in the 15K formula. Also, a couple of other things everybody really needs to be aware of. First of all, in the competition, this is a key point, you need to have a product to earn points on it. So just buy everything and just get it all.

Just get all the products. And the next thing is, have the attitude that you're going to be the leader that you want your people to be. If you want your people to do something, then you do it. If you don't want to do something for your people, then don't expect your leader to do it for you.

The next thing is understand, and we're officially announcing this actually tomorrow, so you might hear that call first. You might hear this first, whatever you hear first. You may have been on the live stream tonight. We did 13,000 sales on the live stream or something like this. I actually got an email.

I want to read this to you, Chuck, because you're going to chuckle at this. I got an email from Alan Cousins, who's a leader here. I'm going to get him in the inner circle here in the next day or two as well. But he said, the email says, whoa, right?

He says, Dave, you know what I love about this? I can be out just playing with my daughter and then put her to bed and get up to check my email and find a couple of 15K sales and a Costa Rica intensive sale paid to me as a result of whatever the hell you just did on the live call. And I don't have a clue what it was, and I don't care, lol, right? And he says, I was like, oh, shit. There must have been a live call going to something.

Commissions just coming in. I do work my ass off in this business, but I really appreciate what you're doing and the fact that you closed sales for us like this. Good stuff from Alan Cousins, right? So, we're out there slaving away to help other people get commissions. That will help me out too.

I'm doing me wrong. But it's a mutual benefit here. We help others win, we win. But everybody understand.

It's a 15K per month product. It's 250 now. If somebody does not have access to it, okay, that price is going up to $1,000 one-time payment. And that's going to be happening March 31st of 2012. We're discounting it right now for everybody because we want to give everybody the ability who's in right now.

And it will never go down again. Once it's at 1,000, it's at 1,000 permanently. So, if you're hearing this in a year, well, you've got to buy it at 1,000. Congratulations. You need to buy it too because it's worth 10,000.

But if you're in it now and you're one of the lucky ones that gets that product back, you're going to be able to buy that product for 250. $1,000 commissions from selling that product. Yeah. Like I was telling you earlier, like what Alan was saying, I like doing the same thing.

I put my kids to bed. I wake up in the morning and I got a bunch of emails sitting there from Dave and Dave. You just — your income just increased by 100 monthly, or you just made a Costa Rica intensive sale. So I get those every single day. It never gets old.

It never gets old. It's always fun and exciting to get — so it's awesome. But that's because you guys do all that for us. So I'm thankful for what you guys have put together.

I do the best I can to help share this with other people so they can experience that as well. But you guys are the ones that do that for us. That's why I'm happy to be a part of it and help other people with it too. Awesome, man. Well, great to have you.

I'm going to let's end the call at that. Good note. Guys, let's go get some commissions. And by the way, the stuff we learned tonight, or today, or morning, or driving to work, you need to soak it in.

So if this is your first time hearing it, download the audio. Plug it into your iPod. And take — this is the goal, guys. The inner circle is not meant to be sit there in front of your computer, do nothing, fold your arms and listen to the audio. It's meant as a downtime training.

There's nothing more powerful than you could do than making a commitment that right now, you'll download the inner circle audios. You'll download them, okay, and listen for 30 to 60 minutes a day when you're working out, when you're running. Because what will happen is the language, the way we talk, how relaxed we are when we're talking about it. When we're talking to our prospects, when we're communicating with our teams, the mindset, the strategies, it'll just automatically come out of your mouth one day. You'll be like, where the heck did that come from?

I sound like a damn guru. And you'll be like, it's those audios. And you'll know, because this is how I learned it, is from listening to audios. That's why we made it like this, because there's nothing more powerful than getting trained in your downline. So don't just sit in front of your computer listening.

Download. Put it on your iPod. Listen again and again and again. Tell your team about it. Tell your team to get on it and to listen every day.

Get the 15K per month formula. Look out. We're doing an event here coming up for Empower that you guys need to be at. It's going to be kind of like a little bit of a launch cycle that we're going to go through. I believe we could put 150,000, 250,000 people in Empower Network this year.

And that's not mentioning all the help that we're going to give you guys for your other businesses, whatever businesses that you're in. So get involved. Get plugged in. Get into the Facebook groups. Get into the Skype groups.

Make a commitment that this year is your year. When we increase the price on that product, you'll be able to resell that product, the 15K per month formula. Okay? So buy the product. Get started on that.

Go through the training and apply it, and we can help you change your life. So again, Chuck, my appreciation goes out to you and your family and your wife. Absolutely. Taking the time out tonight. And again, my friend, let's lock arms, fight the forces of evil, and go help some people get some money.

Well, I'm glad. I was happy to be on the call. I was actually flattered and honored that you asked me to participate. So thank you for having me be here, or letting me be here. All right, brother.
