Do Empower Network Events Hold Secrets To Success?

This is a series of blog posts I’m writing to share not only my travels for the next couple of weeks, but to share tips and information on how to create the life you want and give you tips that speakers shared from the stage at the Empower Network “Release Your Inner Badass” event in Austin January 18-21, 2013.

I came off the event, headed out on a 17 day vacation, and thought I’d take you with me through blogging and pictures.

My Vacation Travel Day 3

If you’re anything like me… you take the the littlest of things and turn them into magical memories that last a lifetime.

This morning was such for me.

My Mom wanted to see the sunset as it broke across the ocean.

She talked about it for days before going and again several times while playing at the beach yesterday. She set the alarm clock for 5 am even though the sunrise would not pop until 6:45 am.

I witnessed her toss and turn, unable to fully sleep for fear the alarm clock wouldn’t go off and she’d miss her date with God and His sunrise.

It was 6:00 am and from our condo balcony, you could see an orange horizon laying atop the east side of the ocean.

I knew we’d have awhile so I fixed a cup of tea, grabbed a beach chair, a camera and my sister and we headed down to the ocean.

The weather was beautiful… the waves were calm, almost as if they were lake waves. The seagulls hadn’t even awaken yet.

But we were there… in the morning darkness, anticipating a spectacular show. We had front row seats at the waters edge with nothing blocking our view.

At 6:30, seagulls took flight…

And at exactly 6:45… the sun peaked it’s head. For the next 14 minutes, we watched it rise until it was sitting just above the ocean.

It was beautiful.

Mom cried.

God is good. His sunrise is breathtaking.

Mom pulled a biscuit from her pocket and began pulling little pieces off for the seagulls. In an instant, she was surrounded by dozens of seagulls getting their first foods of the morning. Mom was laughing and giggling like a 5 year old.

I drank in these moments… for we never know when they will be the last. I’ve learned that after going through 2 heart attacks and strokes with her.

It’s in these moments, not only was I happy for Mom and my sister (who is 21 and autistic) for being able to experience this, but also that I chose the less popular path to time freedom…(discovering how to make money using my internet) so that I am able to be here…and never miss moments. These moments I cherish and nobody can take from me.

At the end of our lives, it’s not the stuff we have that matters… it’s the time we spent with family.

This was the highlight of my travel day.

We headed out early to head to Tarpin Springs, Florida where we will be spending a few days lake front with friends before heading to Disney World for a week. It’s a 9 hour drive and during this time I wrote this blog, listened to Jeffrey Combs on my IPod and did some reading… all promoting personal development and growth.

Empower Network Event Take Aways…

If you’ve never been to an event before, you’ll be surprised to discover that there’s no ‘technical’ training taught offered. I try to let my new team members know this ahead of time to set the expectation.

So why is that? Why are there no breakouts and speakers who teach the “how to” technical stuff?

Well… depending on where you’re at in your entrepreneurial growth, you’ll love or hate the answer… but it’s solid truth.

And here it is.

The “how to” contributes to only 5% of your success. It’s not important in the big picture.

If you’re new or struggling, you’ll have a hard time understanding this and in fact, you may get a little mad.

If, on the other hand you’ve had success, you already know it to be true and you’ll just knod your head in an affirmative ‘yes’.

It’s the “attitude, mindset, belief, and confidence” that people need most. This contributes to 95% of your success.

Events Help People Breakthrough

In light of the fact 95% of your success is based on mindset, it makes sense that the speakers and other presenters help you with mental breakthroughs….

The Magical, Mystical “How To Technical” Shows Up

A beautiful thing happens the MOMENT you SEE YOURSELF successful in your mind…

The ‘technical how to’ just comes.

It’s easy… like magic… effortless.

You see, anyone can learn to write a blog….

… or create a Facebook ad…
… or write a solo ad…
… or make a video…
… or submit an article…
… etc…

These skills are learned. Piece of cake.

What cannot be taught and what matters most is what YOU bring the game INTERNALLY. ONLY YOU can bring that.

Skip The Personal Development And Fail

Here’s what happens in real life.

New entrepreneurs skip over the personal development. They don’t read, listen to audios, get around successful people and they they think it’s a bunch of hogwash.

And they start placing their ads..
… and marketing…
… and spend money on paid advertising…
… and writing blogs…
.. all the things that are necessary to generate leads for your business.

And then BAM!….

Realty sets in.

Only 1 out of 10 ads payoff and they focus on the ones that don’t work rather than the one that does.

… they say this ‘doesn’t work’.

… they complain and whine…

… they now perceive it’s hard…

…or they act like its the end of the world when their YouTube channel gets suspended.

…and then it happens…

They quit.

They badmouth the industry.

They point fingers at the company and/or sponsor.

They refuse to take full responsibility for their success.

Truth is, they were never an entrepreneur. They are cut from a 9-5 cloth but pretending to want to be self employed. They love the concept, but are not willing to BE the person it takes to see it through.

Personal development and investing into yourself…
… your attitudes…
… your belief system about your success…
… discovering years of habits, hangups and hurts that keep them broke…
… THIS is where your wildest success lies.

Personal development teaches you how to grow up as an entrepreneur.

YOU hold the key to your success. Your decision to grow yourself will determine the level at which you succeed and fail.

If you will… close your eyes and clear your mind.

Imagine yourself in a place where you are totally free to be yourself… with all your whims and quirkiness and uniqueness…

… and image how it feels to be able to move forward in your business without

self judgment
worrying about what others think of you
enjoying placing ads and it’s actually fun… like a game.
you’re just not afraid to take risks.

You’re bold.
You’re confident.
People call you an ‘action taker’.

And your bank account reflects it.

How does that make you feel?

Pretty Awesome!

Other words that come to mind are…

… empowered…
… in control…
… freedom…
… secure…
… strong…
… confident…
… proud…

And the truth is, you have an inner self that is screaming to be that person. You are good enough and you deserve it all.

Your personal development journey will bring the true YOU out. It doesn’t change who you are… it reveals the best you, you can be.
