Day 2 of my vacation

Location: I’m here at the Gulf Shores, Alabama for a full day and I literally step out the back door, go down the steps and my toes are in the sand.

Today was one of those ‘lay around’ days… or what I like to call, “stop and smell the roses” day.

I didn’t do anything …

…yet I did everything…

…I can explain.

But before I do…

…I received an email asking me what I do while I’m on vacation that keeps my business in motion, making money and staying connected with the team.

I thought that was an awesome question!  So, I’d thought I’d share that with you today.

One Hour Focused Work

I focused for an hour to get my business work done….

… I’m mobile…

…I just need access to the internet and I can get my work done…

… and that’s cool!

So here’s what I did during that hour….

• I told my family to not interrupt me, I turned my phone off and removed all distractions.
• I wrote a blog post about my breakthrough at the Empower Network event
• I emailed that blog post to my list and encouraged them to get started
• I syndicated the blog post through Tribe Pro automatically … hands off
• This is a capture page offered through Simple2Advertise.
• I touched based with my team through the Facebook and Ning Team communities.  I answered any questions, made sure everyone had a game plan.

Here’s the new banner ad by the way… I think it’s pretty cool.

The truth about the 9-5 Grind

People spend their first 21-25 years of their life being manipulated to believe that freedom is tied to a 9-5 job.

Who ever said… “humans will work for 8 hours a day…. just because.”

Truth of the matter is this.  A 9-5 job is a modern day slave mentality that keeps you in the box, determines your income, vacation days and the food on your table.

You just need to work until your work is done when you’ve got a home based internet business.  And, more truth is this…

… the average 9-5 worker really gets only 1 good hour of work in.  Between daydreaming, coffee breaks, sneak talking to fellow co workers and pretending to look busy while checking their Facebook and emails… they get about an hour’s worth of good work in.

If you look at my one hour of focused work, you’ll find that I followed the 3 simple steps outlined in the Empower Network Blueprint to create the lifestyle I want:

I blogged.

I told others (marketed)

And I make money

Once this is done, spend the rest of the day doing what you want.  Your work is done.

Now… having said that…

…can you choose to bust your butt and put in 2, 3, 4, 5, 10 times the work and put in a full day if you want?

Sure!  But that’s YOUR choice.

But if you’re consistent for a solid 1 hour a day, blogging and marketing, you’ll get results.

How I spent my day and why I said I didn’t do anything… yet I did everything

I got up when I was done sleeping and enjoyed my morning tea overlooking the ocean.

I then went ahead and got my one hour in so I felt free to enjoy the rest of the day.

I closed my laptop and walked with Mom and Dad downstairs (my sister is here too).

My folks removed their shoes and stepped onto the sand (I decided to just go barefoot).  For the next several hours, we walked the beach, took pictures, collected seashells, hugged and laughed and made memories.

All the people are at work!  We had the beach to ourselves!

We went to dinner and then to a silly souvenir shop… where Mom got a little goofy in hat section.

As family and friends…

…we didn’t do anything……but we did everything.

You see, we were doing what we wanted to do…

…for however long we wanted …

…and we did it with those we wanted to be with..

… and you know what?

That’s EVERYTHING!

Oh, and for the record…I got my first official sunburn of 2013.
