Steve Scoresby divides everybody into two kinds of builder, and he draws the line hard. One kind of person moves towards whatever looks best that morning, buys a great deal and finishes almost none of it, and judges everything by whether money might come out quickly. The other decides what they are building and lets that decision rule out most of what arrives in the inbox. Most readers will recognise themselves in one of the two, uncomfortably.
His best short post has a ratio in it: how many people once consumed information for every single person producing it, and how that number collapsed through magazines, cable, video and blogs. It is a good way of explaining why publishing yourself is now ordinary rather than exceptional.
He also explains pre paid legal cover carefully, comparing it to insuring a car, and writes about faith, fear and eighteen things to do outdoors in winter.
Thirteen posts. Read the opportunity seeker one first. If it stings, that is the point of it.
