How this Newbie got on the first page of Google in 34 days
My first blog post was exactly 34 days ago.
Wow how time flies when you are having fun.
This newbie has learned an incredible amount in the past 34 days.
So I was checking some things out on Google last night. You know the “Google Machine” as my wife likes to call it.
I decided to see if I was making any progress.
34 days ago I did not know what a word press blog was.
I had never heard terms like SEO, back link, or social syndication.
What I did know is that I wanted to try something new.
I knew, even though I am a newbie, that I was willing to work hard.
I knew I was going to make mistakes.
13 years ago I was a newbiein the insurance industry.
Starting anything new is scary.
Sometimes all you want is to see some progress.
This Newbie landed on the first page of Google
5 days ago I posted a blog titled “I am a blogging badass.” You can see that post HERE.
It was a funny video and post about the upcoming San Diego Empower Network event.
I also was having some fun with a friend on my tennis team.
It was shot and posted last Friday.
I was having fun and used some basic SEO techniques that I have learned here at Empower Network.
Less than 5 days later, that post is on the front page of Google under the search Blogging Badass.
It was not difficult and if this newbie can do it anyone can.
How do you go from newbie to google’s front page ?
Here it is what I did to get to the front page of google.
I followed these simple steps:

Being a newbie is not a bad thing.
There is a learning curve that all people have to go through when they start something new.
There are several questions that someone needs to ask themselves before starting.
Do I have the drive to be successful?
Do I have the resources in place to accomplish my goals?
Do I have a support network that will be there when I need help?
