Are you making things happen or not?
I have written about fear before and how….
….fear can paralyze you.
I will link another blog post about it, if I can find it….
Fear of regret is another thing to overcome.
Regret just plain sucks.
Sorry for the harsh language, but it just does.
My biggest regret in life is the idea of not making things happen.
I can live with failure.
I can live with a few set backs.
What I can’t live with is regret.
The regret of not making things happen.
The regret of not trying.
My wife reminded me of this very lesson recently.
My wife recently lost her job.
She was laid off the week before Thanksgiving.
It stings, but life moves on.
The shove she got made her start making things happen.
You see, my wife has been working on a business project of her own.
One that she has been developing for a couple years now.
And now it is time to take action on her idea.
By making things happen – you come alive
The shove she got was just the very thing she needed.
Sometimes being knocked out of your comfort zone is a good thing.
I have seen my wife come alive.
She has become more driven.
There is a passion now in her business that did not exist in her job.
I asked her if she was afraid that her business may not succeed?
(Stupid question by me)
Her response was that she would be more upset about not trying….
….then trying and failing.
That’s my girl.
We have that in common.
Sometimes not making things happen is worse then the alternative….
….a lifetime of regret.
And she has come alive because she made a choice to take action.
If you are not making things happen – Now is the time
So maybe it is time for you to make something happen.
What are you resisting doing in your life?
Perhaps you have resisted starting your own business.
Or taking that trip to Europe.
What if you had the time freedom to travel for a month?
Or to send your parents on their dream vacation.
Buy that car you always wanted.
Whatever it is, now is the time.
