A Few Effective Video Marketing Tips for Beginners
For those who think they are shy. Here are a couple of effective video marketing tips. These are especially powerful for beginners, and exactly what I did to get outside of my comfort zone, get on camera, and start cranking out videos.
Make Yourself as Comfortable as Possible
When I initially started shooting my first 2 or 3 videos I did them inside. However, I felt very uncomfortable and awkward working on my videos inside. One, where I wanted to shoot my videos, the lighting wasn’t that great; and second, I kept worrying about a family member walking in on me. I just wasn’t ready to create videos with other people watching me. I wanted to create videos, but those things were just making it more difficult.
So, I decided I was going to take things outside. I went outside and started finding locations where I felt more at ease, and I started to create my videos. After I started finding places where I was more comfortable to create my videos it became much easier for me to start cranking out videos. So that’s one of my effective video marketing tips for you, go to a location, area, or place where you feel more comfortable and create your videos. Maybe it’s in a particular room in your home, maybe it’s at the park, maybe it’s in your car, I don’t know. Just find your place to help you get things rolling.
Allow Yourself to Feel more Secure
Alright, the second thing that I did personally when I first got started creating my videos is that I started wearing a hat. Why? Again, it made me feel more secure and at ease. I was simply more comfortable wearing a hat in my videos instead of going without one, and I still prefer wearing my hat; but I can now create my videos without one and not feel so uncomfortable about it. So, if you feel more at ease wearing a hat, then wear one; or maybe you feel more comfortable wearing sunglasses, OK, so wear those. My point is, if that’s what it takes in the beginning to help you get your videos made, then do it!
Share Your Videos with Others
OK, so you’ve created some videos. Great job. Now get those videos published up on the web. Share them on your blog, Facebook, YouTube, etc. This is an important step not to be left out. First off, if you are creating videos you most likely have a reason. Maybe you’re just sharing your story, or sharing some inspiration you had, or sharing some effecitve video marketing tips; I don’t know what it is you’re sharing in your videos, but I believe you need to make sure you’re making them public because that is part of the process at getting more comfortable being on camera.
Why is that? Well, with me personally I noticed that other folks were watching my videos. I started getting some comments from other people saying certain videos helped them, getting some thumbs-up, likes, etc. This is going to re-enforce the fact that you do have good things to share with others, and that is going to make it even easier for you to create additional videos.
Now, I think you should provide value in your videos. Tips, tricks, strategies, inspirations, encouragement, etc. Good, and positive things that will help others.
You Only Think You are Shy
You only THINK you are shy. That use to be how I thought also. Being shy is a state of mind, a mindset. Shyness is something that you can choose to break out of. You have a choice. You can keep saying that you are too shy, and use that as your excuse; or you can decide to challenge your comfort zones and CHANGE YOUR MINDSET. Turn on that video recorder, and get your face and your voice out there.
The Most Effective Video Marketing Tips
I just have to plug this in here because I really believe in it. I have gotten some of the best and most effective video marketing tips from inside of Empower Network. David Wood actually created a video training, about creating videos. Now, I was already leaning towards making videos and had made maybe 1 or 2; but they either didn’t have my face in the video (I just recorded my computer screen showing others how to use a tool) or I hadn’t published the video yet (I was reluctant to publish it because my face was actually in the video). However, after watching this video training by David Wood I was ready. You have to be a member of Empower Network to see it, but you should just sign-up with Empower NetworkIt’s awesome stuff!
Now, I don’t believe David Wood has magical powers or can hypnotize anyone, but I do think he has the ability and understands how to unlock the power in others who are willing to listen, ready for a change in their life, and are coach-able. Why do I believe that? Well, after watching his training video it was like I snapped my fingers and in that instant I decided that I was going to create at least 90 videos within the next 90 days. That one video challenged me and helped me to have my breakthrough.
The Power of Video
Getting on camera and creating your videos is going to help you to communicate better and it’ll boost your confidence. That’s what it’s done for me. It’s also much easier to connect with others through video because they can see your face and hear your voice. So, if you are working at building a business, making sales, and you want other’s to know you better; video marketing is a powerful way to do just that.
