You Have A Decision To Make

You have a decision to make. It is not an easy one or a comfortable one.

Are you going to buy the ticket and take the ride or are you going to stand at the station and watch the trains go by?

You have a decision to make. Are you going to let your life drift by or are you going to seize opportunities when they come, form a plan and take action?

You have a decision to make. Do you want your life to continue down the path that it is going or are you willing to do the hard work to make changes?

I read a book once called “The Reluctant Messiah” written by Johnathan Bach. (He also wrote “Johnathan Livingstone Seagull”. Great books both of them. Kind of new age-y before new age-y was a “thing”, also profound in the message they delivered.

The introduction of “The Reluctant Messiah” speaks of a creature that chooses to cling to the rocks because everyone in his community clings to the rocks. That is what they always had done and that is what is expected of everyone in the community. One day something goes tumbling by, the creature sees it and wonders where it is going. He decides to let go, even though those around him warn him he is being foolish, he makes the decision and a whole new world opens up for him.

Even Peter got out of the boat and walked on water! He was the only one.

Change happens for many reasons, I think for most of us it comes about because we are forced to make a change, the pain of enduring what we are going through prods us to do something different and allows us to over come the fear that what we are going to is going to be worse than where we started.

How about you are you ready to make a decision? Are you standing at the railroad station of life trying to decide which train to ride? Pick one, buy the ticket, take the ride. I am confident you will find that the journey to  your new destination will be worth the price.

It is difficult, in life, to get some place new when you refuse to take the first step in a direction. I love the old Zen saying “a journey of a thousand miles, begins with the first step”. Take that step today. You have a decision to make to watch this video, then buy the ticket and take the ride.
