The Biggest Lie in Internet Marketing

Recently a couple of leaders in Empower Network hosted a live hangout to discuss the biggest lie in network marketing. It was eye-opening to say the least, especially for those who have been told and accepted this lie.
What is the lie?
That it takes 3-5 years to build a solid income in network marketing.
What’s the truth?
The truth is that you can build a solid income as fast as you want, as long as you have the right mindset and the right tools.
The reason so many people buy into this lie is because it makes “logical” sense to our minds that have been conditioned to be “realistic.”
Consider the story of the Tortoise and the Hare and what the “moral of the story” has programmed into people…
The basic message and lesson we are meant to gain from the story is that “slow and steady” wins the race. My favorite quote from the hangout was from Tony Rush:
The hare didn’t lose the race because he went fast, the hare lost the race because he was a moron.
I laughed so hard at that because it really is the truth! Honestly it’s the stupidest lie I’ve ever heard, that the tortoise won because he went “slow and steady.” He won because the Hare was a dummy, plain and simple!
Now I’m not trying to discount persistence and consistency at all, those things are important too. But it’s absurd to believe that it isn’t possible to go fast and that building wealth slowly is better than building it fast.
People always squirm at the idea of “getting rich quick” and think anyone who says its possible is scamming you. But I mean, be honest, do you want to make a lot of money or a little? And would you rather make that money in the next 6-12 months, or the next 3-5 years? If you answered the first option to both of those questions, then you want to get rich quick!
I understand you might be saying “well everyone wants to get rich quick, but that doesn’t mean it’s possible.” Why NOT?! If you believe it’s possible, and then take action like you mean it, it IS possible for you!
Now here’s where your mind will really get blown: In order to compress time frames and have fast success, you do NOT have to work any longer or harder!
How is that possible? Through using the right vehicle, tools, and systems and getting around the right people. We live in the age of speed thanks to advances in technology, particularly the internet. The combination of the power of the internet, and the right systems, creates an absolutely magical and powerful ability to create income on demand, with the same or less time and effort as before.
In terms of vehicles, Empower Network is the Ferrari of network marketing systems and products. So if you are looking for a system and product to market and sell, the only question you have to ask is do you want a donkey, or a Ferrari. Do you want to get to your desired income slow, or fast?

These are just some of the highlights that I felt were important to discuss here on my blog. And I just want to leave you with one more analogy/story that I felt was really powerful.
Back in the day when floods of people went west for the gold rush, everyone thought they were going to strike gold and be rich. They wanted to get rich quick! But there were two types of people who went west to get rich: the gold miners and those who sold the picks and shovels.
Guess who made the most money during that time? That’s right, the people selling the picks and shovels.
You can go around chasing the next new shiny product to sell with the best comp plan, or you can break away from the competition and start selling the picks and shovels of internet marketing, while making 100% commissions.
