Blogging – On Page SEO Checklist
Let’s Make Money Together!”
This is a quick summary of pieces of webinars done by Tracy Walker and Rob Fore for the Empower Network. They each stressed the importance of having a “On Page SEO Checklist for Blogging.” They had slightly different suggestions, as would be expected, but in general they agreed. Since they are the experts we should probably listen – very closely. I know I am.
Before You Write – keyword searches
I’m not going to go over the keyword searching material in this short blog, but I think they both used Google’s Adword Tool, SEOQuake and Market Samurai. I will share one very neat insight that Rob Fore gave us. He went to Google and searched for “MLM Marketing” and it showed over 4,000,000 pages. He went to the URL and found “mlm+marketing&…..”. He erased everything after the ampersand and replaced it with “start=900″. The address bar ended up looking like this: https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&gl=US&q=mlm+marketing&start=900 When he pressed enter there was a message that there were 798 pages that were considered worth showing. So instead of competing with 4,000,000 pages, he would actually be competing with 798 pages. Of course, if you can’t be in the top 10, it is probably not a place you should be spending your time on.
Blogging – On Page SEO Checklist
Tracy want the title as an <h1> (title) </h1> as the first sentence in the blog text. Rob wants it in the first paragraph. Tracy also wants it as the last line, where Rob wants it in the last paragraph.
Sprinkle your key words in at least once per 100 words. Somewhere between 1% (minimum) and 5%. If you are talking about Blogging – On Page SEO Checklist you need to use this exact phrase. Here is the rest of the checklist.
- Once in an <h1> – Tracy
- Once in an <h2>- Tracy
- Once in an <h3>- Tracy
- Alternatively a couple of times in an <h2> – Rob
- Once in Quotes
- Once in Bold
- Once in Italics
- Once in the ALT text and the CAPTION of an image
Tracy also indicated that you should be “rel=”nofollow” right before the “href” in any links that you include in your post.
Tracy also talked about copying your post over to one of your other blogs. If you control both blogs and you link Blog A to Blog B and Blog B to Blog A, the search engines do not count that as duplicate content.
Actually that aren’t that many things to do to take care of your Blogging – SEO On Page Checklist
