Video Blogging Points

It is not uncommon for people to feel uncomfortable when being video taped or even just filming with no one else around.  If you are someone like this, it’s alright!
Just think – even the successful video bloggers and actors/actresses had to start somewhere, even they started off feeling uncomfortable.

This article will outline some great video blogging techniques to use when making and shooting videos.  These simple strategies can be applied to any kind of video blogging site – if you are selling a product or shooting just for fun.

 Video Blog Intro

Video Blogging Point #1

You do not need an expensive camera

Don’t fall into the trap of thinking that you need to spend a thousand dollars for a fancy top of the line video camera.  That is total rubbish!  All you need is a phone or a cheap flip camera.  In-fact, most successful video blogging people use their
Iphones or Galaxy smart phones because they are so easy to use – but still affective.

Video Blogging Point #2

Be Your Self

People have a strange ability to spot a person that just doesn’t look right.
Don’t go and copy other successful peoples video blogs or act a certain way because some other person is doing it.  Stay true to yourself as this will make your readers feel as if they know you and builds a strong relationship with them making them more likely to return and interact with your blog.

Video Blogging Point #3

Don’t Edit Your Videos

For some reason, many of us are perfectionists.  If you start to edit every little bit of your videos, you can spend many extra hours just trying to get things to be “perfect”.
Don’t waste your time editing, you could be spending those hours making more videos!  Good video blogging should feel natural and unscripted so don’t worry if everything isn’t perfect – you will be waiting a long time otherwise!

The best time to start is yesterday

Video Blogging Tips #4

Use Stories

Think about the most influential people today or in the past.
Think of politicians and religious leaders – they all use the power of story telling to captivate and influence others.
Learning this skill is a great asset to have if you wish to have great influence, especially if you wish to promote a business or product.

Video Blogging Tips #5

Provide Value

You have six seconds before they hit the back button when a person finds your video blog.

You need to capture their attention and give them the answer to what they were searching for.  If you are making a video blog on a particular recipe don’t have a video of something else.  Make your content relevant and useful.

Video Blogging Tips #6

Use Calls To Action

If you are selling a product or service it is important to use a “Call To Action”
This can be indirect or directly telling someone to buy something.

Say you are selling the Latest Fashion Line…

A Direct would be – Buy my clothing range, it is the most fashionable in town!
Indirect – Well, you don’t have to buy these great clothes if you don’t want to be fashionable…

 Video Blogging Tips #7

Make A Video Everyday

Practicing everyday is the most important factor in video blogging.
When you make your very first video, you might feel like a total idiot
I felt so embarrassed and I was all by myself, it is such a weird thing to feel awkward when all you are doing is talking to an inadament object…

There are no successful scardey cats

The success comes after you do the hard things, so stick with it.
Video blogging is just a skill that can be developed just like any other skill.
