We’ve all hit a Slump at some point when trying to write or Create a Blog Post.
It happens to the best of us! We all don’t have super human magical content creating powers.
In fact, we’ve hit a slump ourselves from time to time. But honestly if you look around and do some research there are a never ending amount of resources to help you with your blogging efforts. The point is not to give up, you have to keep on keeping on if you really want to be successful and we REALLY do! Others are counting on you to be present and deliver value and we know we need to do the same and so we try our best to be consistent with our blogging.
So we’re going to share with you 19 awesome tips that we’ve researched….
Borrow Content and Ideas:
Let us just clarify, we don’t mean STEAL others content. That’s just wrong. You can gain ideas, and re-word them to be your own. Let your own style or personality shine through.
1.) Edify others and help yourself. Find your top 5 favorite websites with one favorite blog post each and write about what you like about them. Everyone you feature will be thrilled you mentioned them and will thank you for it.
2.) Ask your friends for help. I did just that on Facebook and got some great feedback. Most people love to help and have been there before so they can relate and really give some helpful tips.
3.) Interview someone. This is a great way to connect with awesome, like-minded people and it’s a heck of a lot easier to write a few questions than an entire blog post. Ha! You can really learn a lot from others to see what’s working and not working for them.
4.) Utilize guest bloggers. Again, another great way to edify others. You simply ask someone who you admire to be a guest blogger on your blog and write a post. They will be flattered you asked them and will bring their A game, hence drawing in new readers.
5.) Speak from your heart. Just start expressing what you feel you have to say out loud…. In plain english… then go into detail, as if you’re explaining it to someone who isn’t there… Imagine the questions they may ask you about what you’re saying and respond to them… keep going long enough, and you’ll usually end up somewhere far from where you began, and that’s a good place to start writing things down. 6.) Drink wine. Ok, we just threw that one in. We don’t even like wine, but a fb friend suggested it, and it may very well work for some, as long as it’s in moderation. Drunk writing, probably not a good idea! LOL!
7.) Write a review. You can review your favorite companies, products or blogs. Tell what you like or dislike about it, what you would change to improve it or the key points that you believe in and what helps others.
8.) Tell your story. Talk about your personal journey. What led you to join your company or market the products you’re marketing. Be honest in where you’re at in your journey and how you plan to reach your goals.
9.) Talk about your mistakes. Others love to hear about failures or mistakes, what to avoid, any challenges and what you learned from them.
10.) Link to oldies but goodies. Link to previous blog posts you’ve done that you liked that maybe relate to the current post or just those that were popular. Maybe new followers haven’t read them yet, so they’ll enjoy checking them out.
Find Inspiration
11.) Watch a movie. You can find inspiration in watching movies sometimes. You can relate anything almost to real life and apply it to your blog posts. Here’s an example of one we did before….Julia Child and Network Marketing.
12.) Utilize television. Same as above only use the most watched shows that a lot of people watch. You can even google what the top shows are and work off of that. Here’s an example of a blog post we wrote after getting inspired watching a highly recommended tv program…..Are You Teaching Others to Fish?
13.) Self Improvement Books. You can gain a lot of great knowledge and information from reading personal development books and then apply it in your own words to your own blog posts. Here’s an example of one of our other posts where we intertwined some value from a couple great books that we highly recommend reading….Are You Ready for 2011?
14.) Comic Books. These can be great just because everyone loves super heroes. They are extremely inspirational, motivating, imaginative, and so very powerful. They take you to a fantasy world where you can DO the impossible. This is why so many movie producers are bringing back these classics.
15.) Celebrity Appeal. The mention of celebrities definitely attract others to read more. It can be an actor/actress, musician or even iconic speakers. They have the credibility or appeal to hold your audiences attention, whether good or bad.
16.) Trends. See what’s up with the latest trends and do your best to apply it to your niche. You can find out more about trends by visiting…Google Trends.
17.) Explore Cultures. Sometimes going to an authentic restaurant, museum, or taking a trip can boost your creative juices. It’s a thought anyway….;)
18.) Take a walk or do something fun with family or friends. Sometimes all we need is a break to rejuvenate our minds and bodies. Just make sure to not get so distracted that you forget what your goals are and take action after you’ve cleared your mind. Speaking from experience. Ha!
19.) Journal. When you’re feeling creative, write down what you’re thinking and this will serve you well into the future when your well runs dry. You can collect a bunch of different ideas, stories, etc. and use them when you really need to.
So that’s it ladies and gents! Hope you got some value from this post, now go out there and conquer your dreams!
