Difference between blogs and websites

The difference between blogs and websites!

The main difference between blogs and websites is that a website is usually static with a certain number of pages and all of the content stays the same once it has been made. Whereas a blog has content that continually changes with new pages being created on a daily or weekly basis.

The BIG difference between blogs and websites!

The big difference is that because your website only has a set amount of pages and your blog has an infinite amount of pages, you are found on many more keywords using a blog. For example a website has a home page www.YourBusiness.com, an About page, www.YourBusiness.com/About, a Contact page www.YourBusiness.com/Contact, and so on, usually a minimum of 5 pages and up to 20 pages if you throw a lot of money at it. If you have a 5 page website, your website will rank in the search engines on those 5 pages or 5 keywords, www.YourBusiness.com/About for example. But a blog is different, if you write a simple blog post everyday for a year, you will have 365 pages on your blog, which rank in the search engines under 365 different keywords. If you blog about your business niche you will rank high, but not every keyword will rank, the key is having unique content and using a blog SEO pluggin like WordPress SEO.

Research the difference between blogs and websites and You choose!

So, which one do you think will be more advantageous for your business, a 5 page fully SEO’d website that is found on 5 search terms only or a 365 page blog site increasing in size by the day, which is also fully SEO’d by you, that can be found on 356 search tearms? It’s a no brainer! 365 keywords will get you found many times more.

It’s a lot of work, I don’t have the time!

A blog post everyday seems like a lot of work but once you start writing it is simple and you get better as you go, with a little planning you can certainly cut down your blog writing time.

Do I have to do it myself?

If you want to capitalise on the difference between blogs and websites, blogs come across much better from the business owner, you can actually talk to your customers and address any concerns they have as well as show your experience and knowledge in your niche market. Your customers will appreciate the effort you put into it. You do not have to blog yourself, but it is way better for your business if you do!
