Why Do You Do What You Do – Part 9 – Release Your Inner Spider Monkey! :-)
Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.
There’s nothing I have been writing here in my blog that is NOT true. This is what I have experienced. And I urge people who question the Empower Network to check out the Knowledge Base – all the information you need to know to get into this online business is all there – it’s transparent! What other company does that? Income disclaimers, check it out! It’s in every single page. Do insurance companies do that? Does any other company do that?
Most, if not ALL of us have been blinded and numbed into believing LIES that when the truth is presented in front of us, we can’t seem to distinguish which is which. But we all still have brains. USE IT!
There are a lot of Empower Network members who write about their experiences and how they have gone through those and always in the end have some lesson to share. I get it. I really do! It is helpful as you write about it. It helps put things in perspective for the writer.. and the reader can read and get a glimpse into the writer’s “world”. It is real. I appreciate “real”. It’s okay to be real. It’s okay to be comfortable in your own skin. It’s okay to write about your own thoughts and feelings. It takes guts to get out of yourself and actually write about what you think .. regardless of how others may think about it. If they don’t like what they read? They can always “x” out of the screen. LOL! (I won’t see it, I won’t get offended! I won’t feel rejected! LOL!) – I am just staying true to my commitment to “blogging daily”.
What’s the difference between
… backing up your dream of getting degrees and getting a job and also backing it up with action,
and
… backing up your dream at starting an online business with action ..
It’s the difference between
… having a Job Mentality
versus
.. having a Success Mentality.
It is sad to note that more people seem to be more motivated by fear or fear of loss than the strong possibility of gain.
When a farmer goes out to sow some seeds, he just doesn’t throw those seeds out there and say “Hey, I will be back in six months and I better have about 100 acres of corn out here when I return!” A farmer doesn’t do that. He works the field, makes sure he fertilizes the soil and goes out there every single day, make sure pests are out; birds are not eating the crops. He is always out there working it. Day in and day out. And then 90 days later, he can expect a harvest.
Same thing with a business. You can’t expect to just throw away money at it and expect it to produce without you working it. You have to have a consistent work habit. Just like those of you who have experienced going to a job consistently would have to do.
If you are working for yourself, wouldn’t you want to give it the same if not better quality of work that you would give your employer?
This is an online business, but it IS still A business!
What’s Your Trade Off?
What are you willing to give up to get what you want?
I heard this story from a positive audio I was listening to about spider monkeys. Spider monkeys evade their predators with its speed and agility. Hunters however have figured out a way to catch them. Spider monkeys love candy, so the hunters would set up these little traps; these little candy jars with the opening just big enough for the monkey to squeeze its hand inside. The monkey runs towards the jar, grabs the candy, and with the candy on its paws, cannot take out both its hand and the candy out, no matter how much they persist at doing this. Then the hunters come and tie a rope on the spider monkey’s neck and catch it.
How much of what we do is like that of the habits of spider monkeys? That we are so focused on the present, not being able to let go of the little that we have, because sometimes that is all it takes to gain our freedom?
Why do you do what you do? What are you willing to give up in order to get what you want?
If you are specific with your questions? You will get specific on your answers. Be okay with your answers. Even if it hurts. Because that’s going to be the beginning of the rest of your life. Don’t stop dreaming. Don’t stop having goals. Don’t let short term failures stop you from dreaming and having long term goals again.
Qualify who you listen to. Know what you want and why you want it. And if you know a group of people who have what you want? Ask them how they did it, and do exactly what they did.
The Empower Network leaders found the simple solution. The complication comes from when people question it and choose to make it difficult unnecessarily. Try what they teach, and back it up with action and see and recognize that it will help you.
It has helped me, and 100,000+ members in 140 countries so far. It’s for us to know because we are already members, and for you to find out, if you so decide to join us.
