Why Do You Do What You Do – Part 5

We do what we do, because sometimes we are just so accustomed to it, that we no longer even question it and then we wonder why we are so unhappy. Sometimes we are not actually fulfilling our life’s assignment as God designed it. Are you best utilizing your gifts? Are you best utilizing your skills? Are you able to provide for your family? Are you able to spend quality time with your family? Or are you too exhausted most days because you have exchanged your most productive and creative time for money so you can pay your bills and just the bills? Are you living from paycheck to paycheck? Are you drowning that you can’t seem to even be capable to afford to dream anymore?
What do you do consistently?
Who do you listen to consistently?
Do you go to work every day? Why? So you can pay your bills? Why? Because if you don’t pay your bills, you lose your house? You lose your car? And all other bills.. So you go to work consistently.
What do you listen to as you are stuck in traffic going to work? The news? What area has an accident, which roads to avoid because of an accident?
And you go do this, listen to this, day in and day out, and when you get home, you cook, exhausted, maybe watch a little TV. After you have done the dishes, and all you see again is News .. Negative news.
It’s like negativity inundating us everywhere we go. Negative people surrounding us because that’s also what they do. Day in and day out. So what is there to talk about?
There’s more to life than this.
There’s got to be.
People ask me why I always have something positive to say. In whatever circumstance. I say it is because of what I “feed my mind”.
When I read the bible, I always learn principles from there, always something new that impacts me in a good way. I read self-help books. When I am discouraged, I pray. I watch some positive videos from people like Dr. Charles Stanley or Dr. Mike Murdock or Joyce Meyer. I have personally met Dr. Mike Murdock, he is a funny guy, too, when you meet him in person, and he makes a lot of sense! Dr. Stanley is like a father-figure. He is quite funny too in his own way.
Joyce Meyer is a classic example of a woman who have gone through the toughest of times growing up and who has made her mess her message to the world of people who have gone through a LOT of tragedies in life but have persevered and have STUCK to that belief that God is in control of everything. That there’s a reason for everything. That confusion turns to clarity when you pray for wisdom. They all consistently teach that. They have prayer lines that you can call, if you want someone to pray for you. These are the people I primarily follow, because I believe in what they teach. We praise the same God.
When I joined Empower Network, and started listening to the Empower Hour calls on Monday nights (that’s free), and they all get deposited into the Inner Circle Audio Training Library. That’s like listening to a “reality show” interview. It’s all inspiring. It’s listening to all of these inspirational and motivational audios and videos that would open your mind that if you are suffering or struggling, you are not alone. You are not going to be there for long. Things are going to change when you recognize that YOU need to change first.
