There is no ‘Real Get Rich Quick Scheme’
The other day I was having a beer after work with an old friend, someone who I had not seen for a while but we keep in touch on Facebook.
It was good to catch up, but one thing bugged me and so I have decided to get it off my chest in this blog post.
He had obviously been reading my Facebook homepage and had seen that I had began blogging and online marketing. Without any real research he told me I should stop doing what I was doing and that it was a waste of time as there was no real get rich quick scheme.
But no-one ever said there was I replied. What makes you think that I believe this is a ‘get rich scheme’ I asked?
He did not have an answer, instead he asked me for more detail about what exactly it was I was doing. You see, He did not really know, he was just being ultra negative about the whole concept of network and affiliate marketing.
As it turns out, he had been involved in an MLM company before and got burnt. He said a close friend had promised him that if he bought into the said company, he would get rich quick and be laughing all the way to the bank…with little work too! Now that does sound too good to be true.

Basically his sponsor clearly had no clue on how to go about sponsoring, training and helping his team achieve their goals. Perhaps it was not really his sponsor’s fault. Maybe his sponsor had been given bad advice. What I do know is that my friend has been scarred by this episode and it has fueled his negativity and skepticism.
Not that being a little skeptical is a bad thing. Everyone need to do their due diligence before starting anything but outright negativity without any facts is not going to get you anywhere.
My friend did eventually accept that he was overly negative about online and network marketing though I could sense he still had doubt.
But that is cool.
He is my friend, and I can enjoy a beer with him. I am not in the business of convincing.
A person convinced against their will will never reality be a good business partner anyway.

So if people are negative about what you do, do not take it personally. That is just where they are right now. I personally think it is their loss, not mine.
And your real friends will always be your real friends. They may not join you, but they will support and encourage you. Just be honest with them.
Be Honest About Your Business!
Never tell anyone that what you are doing is a get rich quick scheme, because it isn’t! There is no real get rich scheme! Network marketing takes time and a lot of effort. You should expect to spend more than you earn at first and budget accordingly.
People appreciate honesty. And perhaps if my friend had not been lied to, he would be a more positive person.
One way to lessen the finical burden is to lead with a funded proposal. This will help you immensely, but remember, there is no real get rich quick scheme.
