Jean-Paul

Travel writing dominates here, and it goes to places that need explaining rather than places that photograph well. Peru gets several pieces, from the Nasca lines to the food revival to the beaches nobody mentions. Dubai gets both the hotels and the parts of it that came before them. Marrakesh, Easter Island, Mauritius and a Japanese city that rarely makes a list all get their turn.

Technology runs second, on phones that charge without a cable, on tablets built to be dropped, on a plane that finds its own way around obstacles indoors.

Jean-Paul's own writing appears between the curated pieces and it is where he becomes a person. He asks whether you actually want what you say you want, describes what focus does to what you notice, and tells a short story about the day he decided he never wanted to be anybody's boss.

Gospel music gets a proper history across several parts, which is unexpected and well done.

Read his own posts to know who is choosing. Then let the travel writing take you wherever it goes.
