Stop the Damn Aiming and Shoot the Ball
Shoot the Ball
One of the many things I love about Empower Network is the depth of it’s leadership.
I just got off the most incredible call hosted by Empower Network Rockstars Tracey Walker and Nicole S. Cooper.
When you see people who are on fire in a company…I mean really blowing up the leader boards, it’s easy to think they’ve always been there.
That they were never afraid to shoot the ball.
But like most of the world’s most successful people, the journey to the top was anything but a straight, smooth course.
Both Tracey and Nicole shared their journey of overcoming hardships including unemployment, foreclosure, divorce, and postpartum depression….to arrive at the top of one of the most powerful Internet companies today.
But to get there, they had to shoot the ball.
And they did that, long before they arrived that their current place.
To start a successful Internet business, you have to have these 3 tools:
1. A Blog
2. An Auto-Responder
3. A Lead Capture page
With the Empower Network Blogging System, you get all of that custom made. So you don’t have to go through all of the hassle involved in creating your own blog. You’re ready to shoot the ball from day one.
Tracey and Nicole would know….they started on the Internet long before Empower Network began, and can recall in vivid detail the agony of having to do that themselves.
So, since Empower Network took that hassle off the table, what does Tracey mean when she said:
“Stop the damn aiming and shoot the ball.”
(That has to be one of my favorite quotes of the night, by the way.)
It means you have to get out of your own way.
You have to believe in yourself enough to step up to the line and shoot the ball.
It’s time to let go of all of the junk that has held you back…and letting go of mental scarcity…you know that feeling that there isn’t enough or that you are constantly competing with somebody.
To shoot the ball means to embrace the power of belief.
Believe in yourself and in what you are doing..and learn how to self-promote.
Some people have been conditioned to believe that talking about your success is boastful and tacky.
Not true.
If you don’t ever talk about your success, how are you ever going to help other people find theirs?
So stand up to your fear and shoot the ball.
If you try to avoid your fear, it will keep coming back.
The three things that all successful people have in common is they:
1. Decide to do something
2. Fire at doing it
3. Adjust and tweak along the way.
Ready. Fire. Aim.
And that is what it takes to get off the bench and shoot the ball.
