NCAA Is Down to the Final Four

NCAA Final Four
For most people, March is an exciting time just because winter is at its end but for us sports nuts, it has a different reason altogether. Winter is almost over but who cares, its 2012 NCAA March Madness time! Although we are already down to the final four, at one time there were 64 competing for the top spot, then there were 32, then there was the sweet 16, elite 8 was next and now that brings us up to date and all that are left are the final four.
The four teams that are still down in New Orleans are Kentucky, Louisville, Ohio State and Kansas. Each team advanced through their respective divisions. Season leaders Kentucky came out of the South, Louisville representing the West, Ohio State won the Eastern division and Kansas made it out of the Midwest on top.
No Surprises in Final Four Matchups
With a quick glance at the top 10 Regular season teams stats, there is really no surprise that Kentucky is still in the running. Season statistics for the 2012 NCAA Season are as follows:

- Kentucky (32-2)
- Syracuse (31-2)
- Missouri (30-4)
- North Carolina (29-5)
- Michigan St. (27-7)
- Kansas (27-6)
- Ohio St. (27-7)
- Duke (27-6)
- Baylor (27-7)
- Florida St. (24-9)
As mentioned before, Kentucky lead the way in the number 1 spot and Kansas and Ohio State made the top ten as well. One could say maybe it was more surprising of the teams that didn’t make the final cut. Louisville beat out 10th seeded Florida State and 2nd place Syracuse is no where to be seen as the top 4 set to match up this Saturday.
There is a little familiarity with the four remaining teams because, as over the years, if you add up all their appearances in the final four, these four teams have been in the NCAA tournament 159 times. They have also been the last 4 standing at some point a total of 49 times and the teams also combine for a grand total of 13 national championships between them.

This Saturday, March 31st, 2012, you can catch all the action of the NCAA as the tournament gets closer to determining a winner.
Kentucky vs. Louisville

Ohio State vs. Kansas
Saturday at 8:30pm et/5:30pm pt

If I would go back I wish I could have picked Louisville to win it all. Although they have a tough match up versus top seed Kentucky, they have a lot of momentum going and I always like cheering for the underdog. Ohio State vs. Kansas game will be a good one. I will probably cheer for Kansas just because they eliminated Michigan so that way if Kansas wins, I can say my team lost to the NCAA National Champions! That’s my reasoning anyways. Regardless of who wins the advances in the final four, the final will be an unbelievable game.
