Wisconsin Exit Polls
The recall election is taking place in Wisconsin today.Wisconsin Exit Polls are saying that 60% of people feel that recalls should only be for official misconduct.
Well this only makes sense to me that we as the people should only be able to “Recall” a public official, elected by a majority of people, on the basis of misconduct or cause. If not what good or purpose is there in elections? I mean if when we elect someone to a office and in some period of time we don’t like what they are doing and we can just get a bunch of other people that don’t like what they are doing, and go about recalling them-what is the purpose of electing anyone at all?Why bother with electing anyone for anything, if we can just “Recall” them and have a new election if we don’t like them or what they do in office?I mean it just seems like sour grapes to me-if we don’t like the outcome of the people voted in to office-no big deal,we can just recall them and have another election.
With this type of situation why wouldn’t the loosing political party of an election just go about a recall right away after their party nominee lost the election? It seems rediculous to me but that seems like what they are doing. The state elected Scott Walker as Governor of Wisconsin. And since , there has been a certain group of people that haven’t liked what he has done as Governor so they are Recalling him.
I don’t know what the law says in regard to recalling elected officials but i don’t think that the intention of our democratic political election process is to recall someone if we don’t like what they do in office during their ie.-4 year term.
Could we recall the President of the United States?Heaven knows that there are plenty of people that don’t like what he has done. There may be 500,000 people that would sign a petition to recall him or any president that we have ever had. There are primarily 2 political parties in this country. So with this idea of a recall process available for use, why wouldn’t the loosing party of the presidential election just recall the person elected right away? I think that’s called impeachment!
I think that there is a reason we elect public officials for a term of a certain number of years.
I think there is a reason we have elections.
These people are Elected by the Majority of the people to represent them and their wishes and to do the job that they would like to see them do, for the next-ie. 4 years.
This Majority of people’s rights are being infringed on by any”RECALL”. And if we are going to allow such activity we are eroding the very foundation of our DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY and our ELECTION PROCESS!
I don’t think this should be allowed because it defeats the purpose of public elections of people that represent the Majority. So no matter what the outcome of today’s “new” election is the whole Recall is wrong.
